Though his plan of spreading rumors could pressure the Thompsons, the Thompsons might notice that it was a plot and might not fall for it.

Joel's plan of using Yonas to divide the Thompsons internally was the perfect plan.

Devon, too, turned to look at Joel with approval in his eyes.

"You're too kind, Southern Boss," Joel smiled modestly, feeling smug that he was praised by the Southern Boss.

"Elder Hilton, that settles it! I'll get my men to start spreading the rumors about Roanne later! We shall leave dividing the Thompsons to Joel and my son, Rodney. I'll tell Rodney to work with Joel. With both plans in place, we should be able to weaken the Thompsons and eliminate Leon!" The Southern Boss concluded.

"Alright!" Devon agreed.

With that, an alliance was formed between the Spears and the Hiltons to destroy Leon and the Thompsons.

Meanwhile, in the Thompsons Mansion.

Roanne returned to the mansion with John in the evening.

She obtained a Sun Pill from Leon the night before and returned home to hand the pill over to her father.

Roanne found Angus in the living room and walked over to present the Sun Pill to him with a smile on her face. "Dad, here's the Sun Pill you asked for!"

"Wonderful! It's a shame that there's only one left," Angus accepted the pill, feeling both excited and disappointed at the same time.

Roanne called him the night before to inform him that Leon only had one Sun Pill and she conveyed Leon's request for the Thompsons to collect more spiritual herbs that contain light energy, to which Angus agreed to.

"Dad, this might not be enough, but Leon has already agreed to make more for us once we find more herbs that contain light energy," Roanne said with a smile.

"I hope that would work!" Angus smiled bitterly.

He knew that spiritual herbs were scarce, especially the ones that contained light energy, so it would be a challenge for the Thompsons.

However, the southern region covered a large area of land where spiritual herbs would occasionally surface every once in a while.

With the Thompsons' influence over the land, they should be able to obtain one herb containing light energy in a matter of months, so Angus was not overly concerned about it.

Just then, he heard footsteps approaching and saw Arthur rushing in with Yonas.

"Uncle Arthur? Why are you here?" Angus and Roanne were both slightly surprised to see them here and went over to greet Arthur.

"Uncle Arthur, Roanne has already obtained the pill, but since the Sun Pills are made from a spiritual herb that contains light energy, Mister Wolf only had one Sun Pill left," Angus explained.

Both Arthur and Yonas were shocked.

Though Yonas was not overly blunt, Angus could tell that Yonas was accusing him of keeping the pills from other members of the family.

Since Yonas was his nephew by blood, Angus knew better than to get angry at what a junior said.

"Who knows?" Yonas scoffed at Angus's explanation.

Yonas's grandfather was the current leader of the family, so the influence of the second bloodline surpassed that of the first bloodline.

There were a total of five elders in the family; three of the elders supported the second bloodline, while the other two supported Angus and the first bloodline.

Though other members of the family supported the first bloodline as well, the first bloodline was clearly at a disadvantage.

Hence, Yonas assumed that Angus was keeping the Sun Pills for members of the first bloodline to strengthen his or Yuri's claim to the position as the future leader as that seemed likely.

"Angus, one Sun Pill isn't enough! Is Mister Wolf unwilling to sell more to us?" Arthur asked in disappointment.

Though Yonas was selfish, he was still Arthur's grandson, so Arthur did not continue to lecture Yonas now that he stopped speaking.

He knew that Yonas wanted a Sun Pill, and since Angus only obtained one pill from Leon, there was not enough to go around.

Unlike Yonas who thought that Angus was hiding the Sun Pills, Arthur simply assumed that Leon was unwilling to sell such precious pills to the Thompsons, which was understandable.

"Well, he had more, but he used most of them and only had one left. It's not that he doesn't want to sell the Sun Pills to us," Angus explained. He paused and added, "Also, the Sun Pills are made from spiritual herbs that contain light energy! Mister Wolf has promised that he could make more Sun Pills for us if we can find these herbs."

"Is that so? That's great news!" Arthur was overjoyed.

Though spiritual herbs that contained light energy were rare, the Thompsons had the influence and capability of obtaining the herbs eventually, which meant that they would soon obtain more Sun Pills from Leon and there was no point in rushing.

"You talk like that's easy," Yonas mumbled in displeasure.

Yonas desperately wanted the Sun Pill and did not have the patience to wait.

He knew that Yonas always wanted to replace Yuri as heir and if Yonas obtained the Sun Pill ahead of others, his arrogance would only escalate and he might cause trouble to the family.

Out of consideration for the greater good, Arthur would not allow such a thing to happen.

Both you and Yuri will wait," Arthur said, deciding to let Angus have the Sun Pill instead.

"It's fine, Uncle Arthur! I've already been in the SemiAlmighty State for a while, so I don’t mind waiting. Since Yonas wants to pill, he can have it first," Angus said.

"You don't have to turn it down, Angus! Almighty martial artists are the pillars of our community. If you can get to the Almighty State with the Sun Pill's help, this benefits our family as a whole! It's settled!" Arthur decided, not allowing anyone else to say otherwise.

"Um, alright, then," Angus agreed thoughtfully.

"Damn it!" Yonas's expression darkened. He felt disappointed that he did not obtain the Sun Pill, but was glad that Yuri did not obtain it either.

As long as Yuri was stuck in his current power level, Yonas knew that he would still stand a chance in replacing Yuri as heir.

"It's about Roanne. Rumor has it that the Thompsons have sent our eldest unwed daughter to live with Mister Wolf to gain his favor," Yuri explained.

Both Angus and Arthur were stunned.

Angus was worried that this would happen when Roanne requested to live with Leon, and that was exactly what happened.

Rumors started to spread almost as soon as Roanne moved in with Leon and according to what Yuri heard, the rumors already started thurton the Thompsons' reputation.

Caught by surprise, Angus was instantly unsure of what to do in response.

"Angus, we can't take this lightly! Before this escalates any further, you need to get Roanne to move back in," Arthur said.

Arthur knew that Roanne was moving in with Leon, but since that was a decision made by Angus, Arthur did not intervene.

"Um, alright!" Angus nodded and turned to look at Roanne." Roanne, go pack up and move out of Mister Wolfs place before our reputation suffer any further,"

She only managed to move in with Leon for a day, and Angus was already asking her to move out.

"Why not? Roanne, Leon already has a girlfriend, so it's inappropriate for you to live with him. Since rumors are already spreading, your honor will be questioned if you don't move back in with us as soon as possible," Angus said hastily.

"Yeah! Roanne, for the sake of our reputation, you should move back in," Arthur said.

"I don't want to. Dad, nothing is going on between me and Leon. I don't care what other people think, besides, I'm not the only one living with him. Cynthia and Snow live there as well. So, why can't I stay there?" Roanne pouted.

"That's ridiculous! How are you the same as those women? You're the eldest unwed daughter of this family. Your every move represents us! If you continue to live with Leon, the Thompsons will become the laughingstock of the entire southern region!" Angus said sternly.

"But," Roanne did not want to give up and was about to argue when Angus interrupted her.

"How can this happen?" Tears welled in Roanne's eyes and she was devastated.

"Hang on!" Yuri said, "Dad, let me finish. There's more to the story."

"There's more? What is it?" Angus and Arthur turned their attention to Yuri.

"I sent some men to look into the origin where the rumors started spreading. According to what we've learned, the rumors were spread on purpose," Yuri explained.

"What? Is this the work of the Southern Boss?" Realization dawned on Angus.

He was confused as to why rumors started to spread merely one day after Roanne moved in with Leon and immediately figured that the Southern Boss had a hand in it.

"That's very likely," Yuri nodded.

He, too, was baffled by the same thing and sent his men to investigate it, only to find that someone was spreading rumors on purpose.

However, he had no proof to confirm if the Southern Boss was indeed the true culprit.

"I guess the Southern Boss is desperate and is preparing to hurt Mister Wolf," Angus said thoughtfully.

He knew about the conflicts between Leon and the Southern Boss and knew that a fight was inevitable between the two.

He agreed for Roanne to move in with Leon mainly because he wished to hinder the Southern Boss from attacking Leon and the others. Since the Southern Boss started spreading rumors, Angus intently realized that the Southern Boss was trying to force the Thompsons to move Roanne out, so that

Leon, Iris, and the others would be easy targets.

"Dad, the Southern Boss isn't just getting ready for an attack. He already tried to kill Leon by sending three of his guardians on an assassination! Leon and Henry managed to defeat them, though," Roanne said.

She heard from Iris and the others about how the Southern Boss's guardians attacked Leon, so she started to explain everything she heard to Angus.

"As expected!" Angus's expression darkened as his belief was confirmed.

"Angus, it doesn't matter if the Southern Boss is behind this! At the moment, we need Roanne to move back in to salvage our reputation!" Arthur said.

"I'm afraid that won't work!" Angus shook his head hesitantly.

"What? Why not?" Arthur asked.

Angus was persistent in getting Roanne to move out of Leon's house earlier, so Arthur was surprised that Angus would change his mind.

"Uncle Arthur, Mister Wolf has helped us on multiple occasions! The Southern Boss is trying to force Roanne out of Mister Wolf's house so that he can attack without worrying that he would get in trouble with us! If we do that, we would walk right into his trap and put Mister Wolf in danger," Angus said.

He wanted to get Roanne to go home out of consideration for the family’s reputation, but since he learned that the

Southern Boss was pulling the strings, Angus refused to fall for it.

Leon helped the Thompsons so much and if Angus insisted that Roanne moved back in, Leon and the others would be in life-threatening danger and Angus would live the rest of his life in guilt.

"You have a point, but this concerns the reputation and honor of Roanne and our family! If we allow Roanne to stay with Mister Wolf, the scandals will escalate!" Arthur scowled.

As the head of all families in the southern region, the Thompsons were an obstacle to the Southern Boss's way of conquering the region.

Once the Southern Boss gained enough power, he would do his best to weaken, or even eradicate the Thompsons.

"Uncle Arthur, we should let Roanne make the decision herself!" Angus said thoughtfully.

Though he wanted Roanne to remain by Leon's side and hinder the Southern Boss's action to repay all that Leon did for the Thompsons, this would also put Roanne in danger and that was the last thing Angus wanted.

Instantly, he found himself at a crossroads and could only seek Roanne's opinion on the matter.

"Roanne, do you want to stay with Mister Wolf, or move back in with us? Make the call!" Angus asked.

"Of course, I'm staying with Leon, Iris, and the others!" Roanne beamed and decided.

"Roanne, you need to think this through! If you continue to stay by Mister Wolfs side, your life might be in danger," Angus said worriedly.

"It’s fine, Dad! Leon saved my life time and time again! If it wasn't for him, I would've died a long time ago! If staying by his side means I can help him, I'm not afraid of danger," Roanne said with determination.

She did not wish to move out of Leon's house, to begin with, and since she learned that the Southern Boss was targeting Leon and the others, there were even more reasons to remain by Leon's side.

"Um, alright, then! I respect your choice!" Angus said thoughtfully.

Though he worried about Roanne's safety, the Southern Boss might not harm Leon or Roanne out of fear of the Thompsons. Even if the Southern Boss leaped into action, he would not dare to hurt Roanne, or he would be declaring war against the Thompsons.

"Great!" Roanne was overjoyed and grinned from ear to ear.

She was devastated when Angus insisted that she moved back in with her family, but to her pleasant surprise, Angus changed his mind and allowed her to stay with Leon, Iris, and the others.

"Angus, since you and Roanne have made up your mind, the two of you will handle this! Remember to send a few men to keep an eye on the Southern Boss and the Spears, so that we can move as soon as they act. Remind Mister Wolf to be careful as well!" Arthur reminded.

"I know!" Angus nodded.

With that, Arthur took Yonas and left.
