The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1111-When Helen returned to Lanecorp, she found Cindy packing her things and ready to leave, but not before she yapped at every employee nearby.

"Why don't you take a guess what happened after my cousin listened to her dear husband and went to Drenam Limited? He said that Gene Pearce would yield the five land lots he claimed through the bid, but what happened? The man's valet didn't even know about it! Oh, it was such a slap in the face when we got there!

"Tut, tut… You should have seen Helen and Frank's faces… Talk about a long face! Oh, it's killing me! Think about it-Gene Pearce is the richest man on the east coast! Why would he even listen to Frank? Who does he think he is?"

y y company to the ground!"

Nonetheless, she ran headlong into Helen, who heard everywhere she said.

She remained impassive and silent, though her eyes were fixed on Cindy's face.

At the same time, every employee around them was sneaking peeks in their direction.

Cindy's conscience gnawed at her, but she puffed her chest while snapping, "WWhat are you looking at? I was telling the truth! You didn't listen to me, and Lanecorp will suffer because of you!" "Cindy…" Helen slowly walked up to Cindy, holding out a hand to touch her face.

"W-What are you doing?" Cindy felt uncomfortable right then, since Helen didn't look angry.

"I was just going to ask…" Helen began calmly. "What have you ever done for me since you became my secretary?"

Cindy snorted right then, exclaiming loudly, "What?! There's so many, like…

uh…"

She suddenly froze up awkwardly because she could not even think of one.

At the same time, Helen continued calmly as if it was none of her business. "So there's nothing you've done for me, while you keep messing up-from losing my laptop and abusing company fundstop "So what? I-I'm your cousin!"

"Indeed you are." Helen sighed and smiled as she turned toward the Lanecorp employees around them. "I'm sure you're all not simpletons if you can make it into this company, let alone be beguiled by this wretch's slander. Tell me, how much of Cindy's words can you really believe in?"

Every employee hung their heads as soon as Helen's gaze reached them they certainly did not want to get involved with the board chairwoman's family dispute or say anything lightly.

Even if they could say anything, they inconsequential to the company, but she would only ever bring them problems.

Helen sighed in turn. "So l'm sure everyone would understand my reasoning for dismissing such am incompetent employee, right? I have every intention to rally Lanecorp and restore it to its former glory, and I'd never burden the company with anything-not even family starting today."

She then turned toward a seething Cindy, clapping her on her shoulder. "You can leave now. Your departure will be the only good thing you've ever done for Lanecorp."

"What…"

Cindy was left watching as Helen returned to her office with her proud stride, her teeth gritting audibly but unable to do a thing.

Still, she soon had an idea.

The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1112-Helen was just about to open her own office door and enter when Cindy yelled, "Hah! Don't get so full of yourself, Helen! All that grandstanding you did is just a distraction-I was right, wasn't I? You and Frank couldn't get those land lots back from Gene Pearce, could you?"

Helen stopped in her tracks and turned to level a cool look of contempt at Cindy.

"You're wrong. I believe Frank can definitely get the land Lanecorp needs. He promised me, and he won't disappoint me." "Hah! You said it! Then I'm staying!"

Cindy snapped stubbornly. "Let's see what Frank can do… And what are you going to do if he can't?"

"Then I will step down as Lanecorp's board chairwoman." Helen snorted and headed inside her office.

"Hahaha! Fine… if you say so!" Cindy laughed, having a rush of blood to the brain.

Since Will dumped her, she believed that Helen was adding insult to injury by chasing her back to Riverton, and that she was heartless!

It had never crossed Cindy's mind that she had achieved nothing in Lanecorp-if anything, Helen's personal reputation had taken a blow because of her.

Half an hour later, a Rolls-Royce Phantom quietly arrived at Lanecorp's basement parking lot.

Then, Gene Pearce, the richest man of the east coast, alighted with Frank, quietly discussing what had just happened.

Gene was utterly impressed by Frank. "I'm surprised by your strength, Mr.

Lawrence. You killed the strongest martial artist I've known with just a blow!"

Frank chuckled. "Haha… You flatter me too much."

"Quite the contrary!" Gene laughed respectfully. You're young, but a master in both medicine and the martial arts. You will be a force to reckon with soon… And I'd have to rely on you even more from now on! Still, I'd never repay you enough after you saved my life twice-if there's anything you need, just ask!"

Frank smiled, a little embarrassed by Gene's enthusiasm. "Then I shall take you up on your offer."

They proceeded up the escalator, with Gene observing the company along the way.

"Hehe… Lanecorp shows character It won't be a waste giving off a few plots of land," he said, noddingan approval of the company, with his acumen as a businessman.

Frank chuckled but said humbly, "We still have a lot to do before we can catch upto Pearce Group."

"Oh, that reminds me… a man as extraordinary as you would surely be the CEO, yes? Wait, Youle hof28)

Gene asked, and he was left stunned when he saw Frank Hake his head.

Frank's response left Gene even more astounded.

"I'm just the head of the health and safety department."

The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1113-Gene was left smiling in wry amusement as he came to his senses. "Such raw talent like you… The head of the health and safety department? That's so…"

Reasonably speaking, someone with Frank's abilities would at minimum be a board member, personally involved in company policy.

But head of the health and safety department? Basically a glorified security guard?

That certainly caught Gene off guard!

"Hehe…" Frank simply chuckled, neither upset nor elaborating.

While a little emotional, Gene glanced at Frank and made him an earnest offer.

"Mr. Lawrence, why not join Pearce Group instead of playing security guard here? I will arrange for a position that suits you, along with a place on the board as a policy maker in Pearce Group. Trust me-you have a brighter future to look forward to with me."

Frank shook his head. "I love my freedom a little too much, and I especially dislike the complex internal workings of major companies." "Moreover…" He trailed off, chuckling as he finished, "Lanecorp's current chairwoman is my woman."

"I see!" Gene exclaimed in realization, though he could not quite hide his disappointment. "You're certainly a man of sentiment."

"Haha. I could say the same about you." Frank smiled as he turned toward Gene. "That's obvious from the way you've dealt with Zorn Woss and Rory Thames. If I'm not mistaken, Rory Thames is alive, isn't she?"

Gene appeared taken aback, but he soon chuckled. "You really see everything, Mr. Lawrence."

Frank shrugged. "You've never lost your sense of self despite your success. I could tell from the way you kept offering Zorn Woss chances to turn back."

"Yeah," Gene said with a wry chuckle and stopped talking at that.

They were heading to Helen's office when they ran into Cindy, who was using her phone as she sat and waited in the hallway.

Cindy was immediately energetic when she saw Frank.

She naturally had no idea who the enfeebled middle-aged man beside Frank was, and considering that he did not have any bodyguards, he must be no one important. S Thinking that Gene must be one of Frank's bootlickers, she promptly yelled, "Everyone, look! The great Frank Lawrence has returned with the land deed from Gene Pearce, the richest man of the east coast!"

The Lanecorp employees could hear Cindy, and even if they were afraid of humoring her, they could not resist their curiosity.

After all, Frank was back, and Helen had confidently declared that, m Drenam Lingited would hand over the land lots without a fight. There was no way, right?

On the other hand, Frank frowned and snapped coolly, "Wat areyou doing herercindy? Helen told you to go back to Riverton, didn't she?"

"She did but I wouldn't miss this for the world." Cindy winked at him.

"Who's this, Mr. Lawrence?" Gene asked just then.

He could see the contempt in Cindy's eyes as she looked at Frank, andit was ridigulous that anyone would behave like that toward Frank.

Could the girl really believe that he was just a normal security guard?

Still, while Gene was left at a loss, Frank appeared used to it as he stood beside Gene.

The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1114-Still, while Gene was left at a loss, Frank appeared used to it as he stood beside Gene.

"Don't worry about her. She's just a clown."

Frank waved at Cindy dismissively, ready to sidestep her and head to Helen's office with Gene.

"Hey, hey, hey. Hold it."

Cindy suddenly strode up, stepping in Gene's path.

"Is something the matter?" Gene asked, unsettled by the contempt in Cindy's eyes.

He was the richest man on the east coast-no one had ever treated him like that before!

"Let me guess. Since Frank invited you, that would mean you're Gene Pearce, the richest man on the east coast?"

"Indeed, I am." Gene nodded calmly.

Frank frowned right then and snapped at Cindy, "Watch yourself, Cindy! Stop causing trouble!"

"No way! Me, causing trouble?"

Cindy sneered, studying Gene pointedly while clicking her tongue. "Honestly, can't you afford a professional? Your paid actor looks so pale like he could kick the bucket at any minute." "What?" Gene was left stunned when did he become a paid actor?

Beside him, Frank quickly realized what Cindy was talking about and shoved her away, snapping, "Last warning-get out, or I'll make you."

"Go on, make me!" Cindy retorted defiantly, pointing at herself.

She had seen the truth-that Frank and Helen really did not care about her now.

But so what?! They kill her for all she cared, be could Gina Zonda would do her best to avenge her! None of them would get away comfortably if she could not!

"Wait, there must be some misunderstanding here…"

Gene said just then, smiling calmly, "Ms. Zonda? I am really Gene Pearce, and I'm here to discuss a collaboration with Lanecorp."

Cindy sneered in turn. "And your company is just giving off the land lots we asked for, right?"

"Exactly."

"Gene nodded and turned to flash a smile at the Lanecorp employees around them. "Mr. Lawrence and I had come to an agreement yesterday, and I've come to oversee the handover."

"Bullshit!" Cindy bellowed, leaving Gene's smile stiffening as she pointed him in the nose. "Stop giving me that crap! Gene Pearce is then richest man on the dastcoast. why would someone like him visit a small company like ours?! Oh, and you somehow didn't bring a single bodyguard with you?! Who would ever believe this?! Get yourself a better paid actor, Frank!"

While Gene felt slighted by Cindy's skeptical attitude, he replied politely, "Mr. Lawrence is the best bodyguard añyohe can ask for, and he alone is enough…

Cindy mimicked him right then. "Mr.

Lawrence is the best bodyguard anyone can ask for, and he alone is enough… Yada yada! You're sickening! Go on, prove that you're really Gene Pearce if you can with kowton to you and Frank right now if yu Can! Otherwise, you will kowtow to me instead-how about that?!"

The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1115-Gene was a patient, stoic man thanks to his years working as a businessman, and he would not really stoop to getting petty against Cindy.

However, her words were a clear insult to Frank and his position.

"Now, now, Mr. Lawrence. Allow me to prove myself."

He held out a hand to stop Frank before he could interfere and whipped out a flashy gold card from his pocket. In fact, it was so dazzling that several Lanecorp employees' felt blinded for a moment. "What's that?" Cindy frowned in turn, not recognizing it.

"It's a custom gold card made exclusively for executives of Pearce Group.

Anyone carrying this can make purchases without needing to pay within any

establishment owned under our banner." Smiling, Gene then pointed at the face imprinted on the gold card. "Ms. Zonda, don't you think I resemble the person in this photo?"

"Resemble?" Cindy took the gold card, her eyes darting between the gold card and Gene's face repeatedly.

She began to scowl and suddenly could not speak.

Gene smiled faintly then, asking, "So? Does that prove who I am?"

"N-No!" Cindy snapped stubbornly, but her evasive gaze already betrayed her thoughts.

Could the man really be Gene Pearce, the richest man on the east coast?

She started to panic, terrified by all the insults she spat at him earlier.

While she did not fear Frank because her Aunt Gina had promised to go down swinging if he hurt her, Gene was another story entirely!

Insulting the richest man on the east coast?! She was as good as dead!

Her legs trembling right then, she had to lean against the wall just to stand!

"Ah, you're here, Mr. Lawrence! I was going to… Eh?"

Will Zeller arrived at the hallway just then but paused when he saw Gene and hurried to greet him. "Mr. Pearce! What brings you here? Didn't you already accept the deed of the land lots you acquired from the bid?"

"Oh, Mr. Zeller," Gene replied affably. "Nothing much—I'm just handing over said deeds to Lanecorp."

"What?!" Cindy's last hope was crushed when she saw Will's reaction and fell on her bottom right them Y-Young really Gene Pearce, the richest man on the east coast…?!"

"Guilty as charged." Gene chuckled.

Cindy broke right then and dropped to her knees in front of Gene with audibly, wheezing, and sweatingm buckets as she kowtowed. "-I'm so sorry, Mr. Pearce… I made a mistake.

I shouldn't have said what I said. I mean no disrespect… Please forgive me…"

"Ah, now you get it?" Gene was still smiling, but the coldness in his eyes were clear.

He had no interest in someone as insignificant as Cindy, and her pleas certainly fell on deaf ears.

Still, while Gene would have punished Cindy severely on any other occasion, he was in Frank& presence, and he owed Frank respect.

The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1116-While Gene would have punished Cindy severely on any other occasion, he was in Frank's presence, and he owed Frank respect. As such, he asked, "What do you think we should do about this, Mr. Lawrence?"

"-"

Before Frank could speak, Helen's door opened, and Helen herself hurried outside, having heard the commotion in the hallway.

She almost blacked out from sheer frustration when she saw Cindy-how was she still there, causing her more trouble? Still, she must not allow herself to mess up in the presence of others, and she nodded at Frank. "Welcome back."

Then, turning toward Gene, she asked, "And who would this gentleman be?"

Gene smiled in turn. "A paid actor hired by Frank to play Gene Pearce, the richest man on the east coast."

The unusual introduction left Helen at a loss, but she was smart enough to connect the dots after another glance at Cindy. "Urgh, what a jinx…"

She was left rubbing her temples, but she soon masterfully flashed a smile, though a little awkwardly, greeting Gene, "Welcome, Mr. Pearce. So sorry our hospitality is lacking since we weren't expecting you…' Especially with Cindy causing a mess!

The thought left Helen shooting Frank an accusing glare for not calling beforehand to receive them, if only to stop Cindy from causing trouble.

Frank simply shrugged as if he could not help her here.

"Urgh…"

Helen sighed, putting away her professional smile and giving Gene an earnest look. "I'm sorry, Mr. Pearce. Cindy is my cousin, and she's been at odds with me and Frank over some personal issues. Please don't blame her too much…"

She then strode up, nudging Cindy and snapping under her breath, "Stay on your knees and apologize!"

"I'm so sorry I've disrespected you, Mr. Pearce. I won't ever do it again."

Cindy was always a coward in the face of death, and this occasion was no exception.

She certainly would not dare to argue now and was kowtowing repeatedly at Gene in apology.

Gene nodded in turn. "Well, I can let this slide since you're Ms. Lane's cousin, but…"

"But…?"

Both Helen and Cindy could feel their hearts skipping a beat.

Gene flashed a smile. "I remember Ms. Zonda here betting that if she's wrong, she would kowtow to me… and Mr. Lawrence."

Both Helen and Cindy understood right then, though Cindy was ready to argue.

Still, she reluctantly kneeled in front of Frank as Helen shot her a furious glare.

"S-Sorry, Frank."

Gene shook his head in disappointment right then. "There's no sincerity."

Humiliation showed on Cindy's face, but she remained unapologetic, as if a completely different Cindy was apologizing to Gene. "I'm sorry, alright, Frank? I won't mess with you again. Just forgive me, okay?"

"Mr. Lawrence?" Gene turned to Frank, asking his opinion.

Frank shook his head in disdain-he did not even care that Cindy g to him, since she wasnet an insignificant clown to him.

"Heh," Gene said. "Since Mr.

Lawrence has nothing to say, P Will let this slide!"

always an insignificant he

Then, he suddenly narrowed his eyes warningly. "If I ever find out about you disrespecting Mr.Lawrence again or stray no out of line, even Ms. Lane can't protect you.

The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1117-Gene suddenly narrowed his eyes warningly. "If I ever find out about you disrespecting Mr. Lawrence again or straying out of line, even Ms. Lane can't protect you from me!" With that, he snorted and left.

Cindy breathed a sigh of relief after he was gone and turned toward Frank.

She was ready to shoot Frank a look of defiance but quickly hung her head as she remembered Gene's warning.

"Just go already. My company has no place for you, and no one can protect you if this happens again!"

With those cool words, Helen hurried after Gene, leaving Frank with Will.

Will appeared anxious, since he had been waiting to speak for a while. "There's something urgent you must know, Mr. Lawrence."

"Something urgent?" Frank's heart skipped a beat, knowing that Sif Lionheart was on the move from Will's expression alone.

He gestured for Will to follow him into his office, and as soon as they sat down, Will exclaimed, "The Lionhearts have made their move last night, during the coming-of-age ceremony for Denise Laine, who is Morhen's mayor's daughter.

Both the Turnbulls and the Lionhearts were present…"

"Morhen mayor's daughter?" Frank did a double take.

"Yes." Will nodded and continued, "I was only informed today that Walter Turnbull got drunk and molested Denise when everyone else wasn't watching!"

"What?!" Frank exclaimed as he sprang to his feet. "No way!"

Walter was Vicky Turnbull's father, and Frank remembered him to be someone always soft-spoken, lacking gall, and easily swayed.

Molesting the mayor's daughter? Not even if he was drunk!

"Yes, the Turnbulls doubted it too." Will nodded solemnly. "That's why they've been demanding a thorough investigation and concrete evidence." Frank nodded in approval. "Good. Glen Turnbull has the right idea that this is a set up."

"But…" Will sighed exasperatedly just then. "Morhen's mayor couldn't care less, and he controls every faction in Morhen, along with the Martial เอน Alliance. The Turnbulls really pale in comparison. Even as we speak, the Martial Alliance has Tu Estate surrounded, demanding that the Turnbulls hand over Walter!"

"What a troublesome turn of events…" Frank could see how complicated things were.

Even if Morhen's mayor was not the ruler of all of Draconia, his power and influence did not pale in comparison, especially with the Martial Alliance answering directly to him.

If the Turnbulls mishandled this incident, their reputation woulg pe tarnished, and Mothen's mayor could wellabel them as personae non grata.

Turning toward Will, Frank asked, "And you think the Lionhearts were behind this?"

Will paused for a moment and chuckled bitterly. "Would you believe me if I said no?"

"Nope," Frank replied and chuckled coolly. "It seems the L jonhearts are really bertontaking down the Turnbulls. Still, it's a good move."

Will grimaced. "Mr. Lawrence, what are you…"

"Just leave it to me." Frank nodded.

"Here's my number. You stay in contact with Sif Lionheart and call me if anything comes up, so you don't have to come to me each time sprething happens."

Then, pausing in thought, he whipped out a pill as well.

The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1118-Frank nodded at Will as he passed him the pill. "You did well-as promised, this is the antidote. It will cure the poison inside you." "Thank you, Mr. Lawrence,"

Will said as he took it respectfully.

Frank then asked, "I can see that you've trained in martial arts too?"

"Oh, uh…" Will scratched his head in embarrassment and flashed a pained smile. "I did, but it's just one basic style, so…"

"Good." Frank passed him another pill. "This is an Ichor Pill, which strengthens the vigor. It's nothing divine, but it's arguably up there. Take it when you start training again, and you'll be a vigor wielder at that." "Thank you, Mr. Lawrence!"

y Naturally, he had learned martial arts from Sif, who was nonchalant as he proved to be a slow learner.

To add insult to injury, she told him that he could not blame anyone for his lack of talent.

On the other hand, Frank would assist him in overcoming that shortcoming instead.

There was no question that the pill Frank gave him was the real deal, as Frank had his life in his hands and had no reason to lie.

It was certainly a far cry from the Lionhearts' treatment, and the scales in Will's mind leaned to Frank's side right then.

He was compelled to obey Frank because of the poison and threat of torture before. In fact, he had come to Lanecorp to ask for an antidote, only to get a solid reward instead.

There was no question that Frank had given him more goodies and was serious about helping him develop. Having seen that, Will made up his mind.

at He eagerly excused himself, ready test the effectiveness of the pill Frank gave him. Frank nodded Will's delighted reaction-he bad truly brought Will over to his side.

The carrot-and-stick approach was truly an unchanging rule!

Helen was actually left dumbstruck as Gene had already signed the transfer agreement for the land deed.

She could hardly believe it-how on earth did Frank get Gene to agree to his request?

And to her delight, there was more.

Aside from selling the land deeds at the basic price, Gene also signed another agreement to seal a long-term partnership with Lanecorp. Starting today, he al net be the second largest shareholder of Lance His investment left Helen beaming, and she even pressed her advantage by taking Frank and Gene atongito where Kallum Gaetz had been confined. Kallum was left deflated as soon as he saw the agreements and could not say a word after Helen introduced Gene.

He sighed, yielding to Helen right then.

"What about the third task?" Helen asked.

"That's unnecessary." Kallum

chuckled bitterly. "What would even quality when you have someone uke Gene Pearce inyesting in Lanecorp?

Jist go already. Don't worry, l' return every last dime of the company's money."

The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1119-Finally, Kallum yielded to Helen.

While Gene's investment was a huge factor in her triumph, Helen understood that Frank was the reason she could take over as Lanecorp's board chairwoman easily and resolve all the difficulties they faced. Frank, however, did not linger at Lanecorp.

Relieved to hear that Kallum had given up, he promptly left, jumping into his car and driving straight to Morhen.

Susan Redford, Vicky's mother, was on the verge of tears.

"Frank… Vicky didn't let me tell you because it's… complicated. Walter's been poisoned and remains unconscious, and we can't question him even if we

g g "Calm down, Mrs. Turnbull," Frank said calmly, holding the steering wheel in one hand and his phone in the other. "Where's Vicky? She's in Morhen now, isn't she?"

"She…"

Susan was hesitant and choking with tears. "She told me not to tell… Just come to Turnbull Estate, Frank. Let's talk face to face."

"Okay!" Frank said, putting down his phone and jamming his foot on the gas pedal.

His Maybach roared as it sped down the highway.

When Frank arrived at Turnbull Estate in Morhen, the front gates were surrounded by members of the Martial Alliance.

A beautiful figure stood amongst them, and it was none other than Silverbell, the current chief of the Martial Alliance.

She appeared hesitant, even as two of the Martial Alliance's elders pestered her.

"What are you waiting for, Lady Silverbell? Let's just get inside and take the perp!" "Exactly! It'd be bad if this drags out and the mayor starts asking questions…"

Silverbell bit her lip but never caved to their pressure, as if waiting.

On the other hand, Frank quickly stopped his Maybach outside the et "Wait, who are you?!"

"Hold it! You're not allowed in here!"

All the members of the Martial Alliance promptly strode up to s Frank when they saw him attempting to get past the bat "Donn…" Silverbell murmured when she saw Frank but quickly caught herself.

"Frank Lawrence…"

Frank's heart skipped a beat when he heard her voice.

He turned to find her dressed in white silk even as she carried a sword, looking like a picturesque goddess.

"What? Do you know this man, Lady Silverbell?"

Silverbell nodded silently at the elder's question.

Frank, however, said nothing to her.

Instead, he turned back toward the members of the Martial Alliance, his expression dobfas he barked, "Let me pass!"

"Let him pass," Silverbell spoke clearly from a distance too.

"What? But Lady Silverbell-"

"No buts. Listen to me-let him pass!"

As the two members of the Martial Alliance reluctantly clearedta Path, Frank did not hesitate to dash inside.

Still, he paused midway and turned,

troubled pair of eyes still staring at him before continuing toward M Turnbul Hall.

The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1120-"Phew…"

Silverbell breathed a sigh of relief when she saw Frank's nod, and her fingers eased around her sword's hilt.

"Lady Silverbell, that man…"

"He's my brother," she said and did not elaborate further.

"Brother, huh… And his last name is Lawrence… I think I understand," one of the elders beside Silverbell murmured thoughtfully.

Silverbell glanced at him but stayed silent.

Bang!

y pp g Some were even ready to yell at him, but Glen Turnbull quickly gave everyone a warning glare even though he was startled too.

This incident was so grave that the family's fate hung in the balance-it was not the time for manners.

Walking up to Frank with a nod, Glen said, "We meet again, Mr. Lawrence. I'm sure my sister-in-law filled you in?"

"Yeah." Frank nodded. "Where's Mr. Walter? I'll check on him now."

"Sure." Glen did not dawdle, leading Frank out of the hall and straight to a dome car, taking Frank to one of the bungalows within Turnbull Estate. "Walter's in there."

"Frank Lawrence?"

Susan hurried downstairs when she heard them, and her eyes lit up when she saw Frank despite her usual disapproving attitude toward him.

Her eyes were red, and she was choking with tears. "Walter's been unconscious ever since he came back and the doctors can't do a thing…"

"Let me see him," Frank said, quickly striding in the bedroom.

Inside, Walter was laying in bed, his fingers stiff and his lips purple.

Frank could see right away that he had been poisoned, but he still had to examine Walter to know what poison it was.

Sitting beside Walter, he lifted an eyelid and saw many black spots.

Then, as he felt Walter's pulse, he noticed that despite a steady rhythm, there were brief hints of spasming.

It was indeed poison-one that could confound the senses and acted very subtly.

Not only did it cause hallucinations, but it was also lethal in a way as it would spur a person into doing what they usually would not.

While Walter would regain consciousness on his own in a couple of days, time was of the essence.

Blue pure vigor swirled around Frank's finger, and he tapped several acupoints before jamming a thumb on Walter's chest. Directing his pure vigor with Walter's own vigor, he cleared away the clots in Walter's UMS head.

Walter abruptly began to hack violently, clearing his langsand m slowly.opening his eyes.

"F-Frank Lawrence?" he murmured in confusion. "What are you doing here?

Wait, where am f?!"

"You really scared me, Walter!" Susan lunged at Walter, wapping her arms around himand bawling deafeningly.

Their marriage was clearly functional-even if she disrespected Walter for his incompetence, she was still worried when something this serious happened.
