Ch. 1421..1430
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1421-"No can do," Winter said, scowling even before Frank could answer. "I still have plenty of matters to take up with these people!" "Wake him up," Frank said, pointing at Claude and clearly intending for his father Liev to do it.
"Claude? Claude?" Liev quickly shook Claude.
However, Claude was not waking up, and Liev felt as if a blade was hanging over his head, seeing the darkening gaze in Frank's eyes.
Clenching his jaw, he raised his wrist and slapped his son across the face!
Smack!
The slap finally woke Claude, and he immediately realized what had happened. He clutched his face and stared at his father in disbelief.
"Dad… You slapped me?!"
In his memory, his dad had constantly spoiled him and never so much as laid a finger on him.
It naturally left him flabbergasted to see his father slap him as so many others watched now!
"I…"
Liev could certainly see how miserable his son was, but his rage flared again as he remembered that Claude was the reason he got caught in this hot pile of mess.
Smack!
Slapping Claude viciously again, he bellowed, "Yes, I slapped you, you little prick! Do you think we'd be in this situation if not for you?!"
"Enough."
Winter strode up just then, stopping the altercation between father and son.
Glancing at the trembling Jet, she folded her arms before her chest as she looked at Claude, "So? Are you going to kneel and beg to pay for Lydia's father's medical bills along with the equipment you damaged in this hospital?"
"I…"
Claude felt endless humiliation as Winter's came good on her threat-all he could do now was to obey, paying the medical bill and any damages he caused to the hospital.
It certainly hurt him more than killing him.
"What are you hesitating for, you little wretch?!"
Liev smacked his son on the back of the head, seeing that he was actually hesitating. "You're the one who caused trouble here! Don't you think you should pay?!"
Then, flashing a fawning smile at Winter, Liev assured her, "Don't worry, Dr. Lawrence. Our family will pay for any damages caused to Zamri Hospital tenfold! If you can just be understanding and forgive us this one time…"
When he finished, Liev wheeled on his son and snapped, "Apologize already, you prick!"
'I'm… sorry, Dr. Lawrence… Please forgive me. I will pay ten times the damages…" Claude pleaded, his entire body stiff as wood as he kowtowed to Winter while feeling like his soul was drained. "Hmph. I warned you, but you refused to listen-you only have yourself to blame!"
Winter actually felt a little sorry seeing Claude's miserable state. However, she also knew that being nice to vite people like him was an insult to good people, and she definitely must not let these people off lightly.
"Also," she added, "your family has ruined our hospital's reputation, calling in so many thugs here. You're blocking the hallways and affecting our work here, and you have to pay us damages for that too!" "Yes, yes, of course." Liev nodded repeatedly.
Winter nodded. "And you, Jet Quaid…"
Jet's whole body flinched when Winter mentioned his name and watched as she flung the sheet Frank brought at his face.
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1422-Winter snapped coldly at Jet, "Take a look at this invoice before you want to argue your case."
"Eh?"
Jet's fingers trembled even as he picked up the invoice, and he was left stunned as soon as he saw it.
The invoice was a price list for all medicine and medical equipment that the Turnbulls were selling to the Draconia market.
It was definitely insider information, and it was added that everything would be sold to Jet after substantial rebates.
Reasonably speaking, Winter should not get her hands on this list, though Jet could feel himself dying inside even as he glanced at Frank.
Not only did Winter have Gene's backing, but even Lanecorp and the Turnbulls of Morhen were her allies.
It was simply horrific!
Jet certainly could not argue after seeing the list and hung his head as he silently admitted to embezzling hospital funds through rebates.
Somehow, Claude could feel the murderous glare Jet was shooting at him and could not help feeling that his brother-in-law would kill him if he got the chance. Naturally, he was right about that-in fact, Jet could kill him on the spot, because he would not be exposed so soon if not for Claude!
And now, not only was Jet's whole life ruined, but he would be spending the rest of it behind bars.
Liev's mouth hung open as he looked on, but he could not plead Jet's case at all.
Jet deserved what was coming to him, not to mention that Liev was himself under the crosshairs at the moment.
He would definitely get destroyed if he stood up for Jet now, and though it was a pity, he just had to let his daughter take the bullet for this want.
If she had to hate someone, she could hate her brother for not keeping his mouth in check.
That was when Winter glowered at Claude and snapped, "And now, I want you to kneel to Ms. Kinley, and apologize to her and her father."
"Go on…"
Liev nudged his son, seeing that he was not moving-it sucked to be a eunuch for the rest of his life, but it was still much better than dying! "I'm sorry, Ms. Kinley."
For his part, Claude no longer had the will to fight back, and he kowtowed thrice in front of Lydia as everyone watched.
"No, it's alright…"
Lydia was flustered-she was just an ordinary salesgirl who certainly did not deserve such humble prostrating from the heir to an important family.
"Don't pity that bastard," Frank suddenly said nearby. "What do you think would happen to you and your father if we didn't happen to be here?"
Lydia flinched and clenched her knuckles she certainly knew that she and her father would be dead if she did not run into Winter and Frank by chance. én.swnovels.net There really was no reason to sympathize with a scumbag like Claude!
And seeing that Lydia was silent, Frank waved. "You're not done. Go apologize to Mr. Kinley too!"
With that, Claude was pulled to his feet and brought to the next ward.
He did not struggle and stared stiffly at the unconscious Aaron Kinley, kowtowing ten times until his skull cracked and blood covered half his face.
"Alright, you can leave now," Frank said, waving him off. "And you Dresdens had better be gone from Zamri by the end of today. If you stray out of line again, I'll personally pay your home a visit!"
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1423-As Liev and his men left Zamri Hospital defeated, they ran into the rest of their men at the entrance.
"What happened here, Mr. Dresden?!"
The bodyguards at the front were left stunned, especially when they saw Percy and Claude bleeding all over.
"Save it. Let's just get out of here." Liev waved them off feebly, as it was really the worst day since he came to Zamri, bar none.
"Please, Mr. Dresden! We will restore your honor even if it kills us!"
The bodyguards were clenching their knuckles when they heard how discouraged Liev was.
They were bent on getting even for the sake of the Dresdens, and Liev could not talk them out as some of them started toward the building.
Smack!
Having had enough right then, Liev slapped the one leading them and screamed, "Are you fucking listening?! We're leaving Zamri now! It's over! You can either go in or die, or fuck off!"
With that, he kicked the bodyguard away while he strode into his own car and drove off without so much as looking back. He did not even care that his godson and son were left sitting limply on the ground! Meanwhile, Claude was left sitting there and spacing out.
He started chuckling after a while before laughing out loud, drawing sideway glances from many pedestrians and security guards.
Soon, Claude was crying even as he laughed, clearly having lost his mind.
Meanwhile, Winter was staring at the entrance from her office and sighed quietly. "I think I really overdid it… I was really cold there."
"You're really being naive now, my fellow apprentice." Abel Loggins laughed, stroking his beard as he sat on the couch. "I'm sure you understand that being nice to your enemies means you're being cruel to yourself."
Winter nodded but sighed exasperatedly as she turned to him. "Just Winter will do. There's no reason to be so formal, Mr. Loggins."
"Oh, but that won't do." Abel was suddenly dead serious. "Rules and respect are integral in Draconian traditional medicine, and I've myself looked past my age to address you in respect. Or perhaps I don't deserve yours?"
"That's not what I mean…"
Winter sighed, rubbing her brow in exasperation.
Abel's presence here at Zamri Hospital was already becoming a popular topic of conversation. And on top of that, people were starting to give Winter weird looks and talk about her in private as Abel kept calling her his fellow apprentice.
All she could do was shake her head, exasperated at the codger's stubbornness. "Wait, where's Frank?"
"Oh, our dear mentor?" Abel chuckled. "He just flew off on a chopper. Said something about a situation in Morhen and having to check it out himself."
"What could it be?" Winter murmured, feeling disappointed.
Frank would never give her a head's up before going anywhere and always left at a moment's notice.
Seemingly reading her mind, Abel chuckled. "It's alright. He'll just be there for a few days…"
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1424-Pausing, Abel then added, "He's also asked me to inform you that he's satisfied with what you did today."
"Oh…"
Winter blushed at Frank's compliment, since that was the first.
Even as the helicopter's rotor whirled overhead, Kat Yego was shouting from the other end of Frank's headset, "When are you arriving, Master Lawrence?!"
"Give me another half an hour," Frank replied calmly.
"Hurry up! They're chasing us off already-"
There was a yelp from Kat's end before she could finish, as a group of men shouted and cursed.
Kat then yelled, "Urgh, whatever! I can't wait-I have to do this right now, or my house will be gone!"
With that, she hung up.
Frank was left doing a double take and scowled as he pocketed his phone.
He had received a call from Kat earlier, who traveled to Morhen with Noel York for filming on location.
Kat spared some time to return to the cottage while she did, yearning for nostalgia of her delinquent days.
However, she barely had any time to enjoy herself when she heard the rumble of an excavator and hurried out to see a huge gang of thugs tearing down the houses with their heavy machinery.
They were led by a middle-aged man wearing a suit, who was sternly snapping at Kat's neighbors for them to leave, saying that they would be building new houses here.
Naturally, many of Kat's neighbors were incensed-they had lived there for years, and they had nowhere else to go!
However, there was no reasoning with the thugs, who had clearly embezzled the residents' resettlement payments too. Even the senior citizens were given just around four grand to have their houses demolished.
What was that if not daylight robbery?!
"Calm down already," the middle-aged man in question said.
He had a split mustache and wore shades, while his hair was slick with hair gel.
Even as he looked at the residents glaring at him, he chuckled coolly. "Demolishing this neighborhood is the will of the Lionhearts. If any of you have any protests, you can take it up with them right now, though I certainly don't-I'm just a contractor paid to do a job."
"The Lionhearts?!"
"What?! The Lionhearts are behind this?!"
While the residents were fiercely resistant earlier, just the mention of the Lionhearts left their faces turning pale.
Even as they traded glances, they were suddenly a lot less vocal.
"B-But this is out of line!"
"Exactly, telling us to leave our houses for just a couple grand?! What do we even do with that money?"
"We'd be just giving away our homes for free!"
The greasy-haired middle-aged man pretended as if he was really listening patiently, even nodding thoughtfully when the residents were finished.
"It seems like everyone's complaining that you're not paid enough to leave… So how about this?"
He paused and smirked viciously.
"I've made up my mind. You mooks won't be paid at all! Since you're protesting so much, we just have to make you leave by force!"
The residents were left dumbstruck.
This was Morhen, but this middle-aged man they had never even heard of was doing this right under the mayor's nose?!
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1425-The residents had really underestimated how despicable that greasy-haired middle-aged man could be.
The man then snapped his fingers as he ordered the thugs who had been waiting impatiently for a while now. "Get them out of here!" he barked. "Kill any you can't chase away. Just start tearing down houses!"
"Yes, boss!"
The thugs menacingly started forward, metal bats and machetes in hand, ready to chase away the residents.
That was when Kat put away her phone and strode up from the back of the crowd.
"Stop!" she snapped, having her old white wig on while carrying a metal bat covered in stickers, stopping the thugs just in front of the panicking residents.
"Oh… It's Nash's girl!"
"What is she doing?! Does she want to die?!"
"Run, Kat! These men would really kill you!"
While surprised that the delinquent they always gossiped about stood before them like a heroine now, Kat's neighbors wasted no time telling her to run.
Kat did not listen, however, even shoving her metal bat heavily on the ground while glaring at the greasy-haired middle-aged man, pointing at him and snapping, "Where did you even come from? Why are you tearing down our homes?"
"Oh, we have a brat over here…" The greasy-haired middle-aged man simply chuckled, while his thugs promptly turned their sights and advanced on Kat.
"Don't you know that the Lionhearts own this place, brat?!"
"They told you to leave, so leave!"
One of the thugs grinned as he strode up to Kat, smiling in contempt and even reaching out to touch her face.
"The Lionhearts who?!"
With a bellow that left her neighbors stunned, Kat suddenly grabbed the thug by his hand and broke it.
"Argh!!!"
The thug screamed from the sheer agony, not expecting the brat to be that strong!
"Fuck off!" Kat snapped and kicked the thug away.
"Shit, is she really fucking with the Lioneharts?!"
"She's asking for it!"
Even the greasy-haired middle-aged man was glowering. "Brat, get down on your knees and apologize for speaking rudely… or you'd wish you were dead!" Content bet "Calm down, kiddo!"
"Yeah, Nash's girlie. We should just leave."
"Being alive is much better than being dead!"
The neighbors were scrambling to dissuade Kat.
However, she only wheeled on them and bellowed, "Shut up!"
While her neighbors were left stunned, she turned back toward her cottage and said quietly, "I never liked my house, but it is my house the place where my parents had me. That's why I'm not leaving! I'm not afraid of the Lionhearts either, but the rest of you can run all you want!"
With that, she raised her metal bat and pointed at the greasy-haired middle-aged man as she bellowed loudly, "Hey, bitch!"
"Bitch…?!"
The greasy-haired middle-aged man did a double take, clearly feel by à moniker for him, and wasted no breath right then.
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1426-The greasy-haired middle-aged man growled through his teeth, "Kill her!"
"Yes, sir!"
The thugs all leapt toward Kat at the middle-aged man's orders, while Kat's neighbors remained still and silent.
They watched as Kat stood alone, unsure if they should flee or stay.
"Hyah!!!"
Kat, however, did not stand idly and wait for her doom.
She leapt to action right then, charging straight toward the greasy-haired middle-aged man.
In her way was a grinning thug, who swung his metal bat straight at her head.
If it struck true, it would at least be a concussion-even Kat's neighbors were closing their eyes, unable to look.
"That brat's so… Urgh!"
"She has passion, but that's too reckless!"
Even as everyone sighed in resignation and were dead sure Kat would get hit, Kat suddenly stopped in her tracks at an impossible speed.
The metal bat missed her right then and struck the thug on the cheek.
The thug yelped even as two rows of his teeth on that side of his face shot out, while he spun in the air for several circles before dropping to the ground.
"What?!"
It was not just the neighbors-the thugs were left staring blankly too.
Even Sil was frowning. "A martial artist?"
"Gah!"
Another thug who charged at Kat just then was struck in the chest, leaving a dent as he coughed blood.
Nonetheless, Kat was wiping the sweat off her brow and panting.
"Huff, huff I've been slacking on my training since I've been busy filming and singing… Hurry up, Master Lawrence, or you'd be seeing my corpse when you finally get here!"
Sil was in turn furious and bellowed at the thugs, "Get her already! Aren't you supposed to be the Fire Snakes?! Can't you take down a single brat with so many of you?!" en.swhovels.net At first surprised, the thugs' eyes soon went red with rage.
That was true! If a gang of their size were sent packing by a brat, would they not become the laughing stock of everyone?!
With that, all fortyish of them bellowed as they charged toward Kat from every direction.
"Tch…"
Kat clicked her tongue-she was a martial artist under Frank's tutelage, but she only learnt the most basic phase of the Five-Peat Archaeus.
She was really hard-pressed going up against so many people, but she did not have anywhere to run unless she wanted to watch as these people demolished her home. "Hmph. Five-Peat Archaeus!" she cried.
A burst of vigor permeated her meridian nexus and extended throughout her body, and she instantly felt herself getting stronger.
As the thugs charged at her, she breathed a battlecry and punched a metal bat that another thug swung at her. Then, snatching it out of his grasp, she smashed it on another thug's head.
"What…"
Her neighbors were left staring blankly as she fought against all those men alone. But soon, one of them picked up a metal bat from the ground and joined the fray. Another soon followed suit, and eventually, most of the youths were fighting too.
Pandemonium ensued, and the youths' involvement considerably eased the pressure on Kat.
Still, she was struck in the head and back several times, and blood trickled out of her lips and forehead.
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1427-Eventually, as over a dozen youths from Kat's neighborhood joined the fray, she took down over twenty thugs.
Still, some of them carried machetes and knives, and Kat ended up getting cut in the forearm when one of them caught her off guard.
At her limit, she was panting heavily as she looked around, but the thugs were all down.
"Well done, kiddo!"
"I didn't think old Nash's kid was this good!"
"Your hands's bleeding… Quick, get it bandaged!"
Kat felt warmth unfurling in her heart from all the praise showered her way and puffed her chest as she turned toward the greasy-haired middle-aged man.
"Is that it? Hehehe…"
Somehow, the greasy-haired middle-aged man was not upset or blaming the thugs' incompetence, but was instead laughing… even clapping.
"So that's why you're so full of yourself, kid! You're actually a martial artist-half-baked, but I guess it counts!"
Kat glowered in turn and snapped, "If you get it, then leave!"
"Leave?"
The greasy-haired middle-aged man paused for a moment and laughed even more loudly. "Kiddo, I could already see you're at your limit! I almost wanted to stop myself, but…"
He waved, and more thugs leapt out from the heavy construction machinery… and there were over two hundred of them!
The greasy-haired middle-aged man smiled at Kat in turn. "I didn't bring much, but I brought all the men I could spare. Did you really think you could chase away the Lionhearts all on your own? You're kidding, right?"
Kat's expression certainly darkened as she watched the thugs charged toward them.
Around her, her neighbors who were so vocally approving of her were suddenly deflated and panicking again.
The greasy-haired middle-aged man was spreading his hands and laughing even as he slowly walked toward them. "I was being nice, but since none of you knows what's good for you, you can all stay We just happen to need extra pites, and you all fit the bill."
The residents all turned pale and started backing away, while Kat was left puzzled. "Piles? What's that supposed to mean?"
One of the youths behind her tugged on her arm. "He means to drive us into the dirt, like piles. Run, kiddo these people are crazy!"
"What?!"
Kat was left incensed, but she saw that the greasy-haired middle-aged man was within her range of attack just then.
She leapt toward him instantly, her vigor unfurling as she yelled, "Skyrush Jab!"
It was her strongest move and a Mystic Sky Sect technique she learnt from Frank.
"Ignorant fool." The greasy-haired middle-aged man snorted.
Instead of dodging Kat's full power blow, he moved as fast as I his large hand seizing Kat bing, neck and lifting her into the air!
"Oof…"
Her attack foiled, Kat suddenly found herself struggling.
But the greasy-haired middle-aged man's hand was holding her neck with a vice-like grip, and she not free herself no matter did.
"Heh. Allow me to introduce myself…"
she Swould The greasy-haired middle-aged man sneered as he took off his glasses. "Sil Lionheart, vice-chief of Volsung Sect's Caudal Hall."
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1428-"Did you think I'm the easier target here, brat? How naive."
As he finished, Sil's fingers slowly clenched around Kat's neck, and he laughed viciously as he did. "Go on, let me see how you will struggle before you die. It's a shame to just kill you right here, but it's really your fault for getting ahead of yourself!"
"No!"
"Please, we will leave! Just let the kid go!"
"She just got a little upset… She'd never mess with the Lionhearts!"
The residents panicked even as they watched Kat start to drain of strength, and some who were close with Nash were even tearing up.
"Hey, where the hell are you, Nash?!" One even called Kat's father. "Your daughter's going to die! Why would I lie to you?! Oh, she's just trying to stand up for us, but… Just get over here! Wait, you're in Zamri?!"
Amid the hollering, the light in Kat's eyes were dimming and she was almost turning still.
Sil just had to squeeze a little to snap her neck, but he did not do it.
After all, he loved seeing a person, alive and kicking, slowly die in his grasp and before his eyes.
However, that was when he suddenly heard a whirling rotor overhead.
"Hmmm?"
Sil looked up to find a helicopter streaking toward them from a distance, with a man standing on the landing skid, a hand holding on to the fuselage.
"What…?" Sil murmured, since it was quite far for him to make out everything.
Onboard the helicopter, the pilot was shouting behind him, "I'm descending right now, Mr. Lawrence!"
"No, it's fine!" Frank replied, his eyes rapidly searching and quickly finding Kat, whose neck was held up by a man while she barely breathed.
"Mr. Lawrence?!" the pilot exclaimed, as he almost had a heart attack as he watched Frank leap off the helicopter while leaving his parachute in the backseat!
Down below, the residents could all hear the raging bellow, "Let her go!"
Then, a man shot downward like a into before slamming violent/et ground, leaving a crater and kicking a wave ve of dust.
Wo Boom!
"Shit, what the fuck?!"
The thugs had never seen anything like that-an actual person leaping from over three thousand meters in the air without a parachute! What was that if not suicidal?!
Even as the shockwave from the landing subsided, Sil felt the chill of danger creeping down his spine.
Almost purely by instinct, he flung Kat into the distance, while he leapt backward in evasion as a silhouette shot past him.
Without hesitation, the man stopped attacking him and leapt into the distance, catching Kat in his arms.
"Cough, cough…"
Kat was almost drifting out of consciousness and would really be dead if Frank had not made it in time.
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1429-"Master… Lawrence?" Kat coughed violently as she regained consciousness.
"Yeah," Frank replied as he tousled her hair, his gaze at once scolding, exasperated, and pained. "Hahaha… I knew it! You're the only one I know who could leap off a helicopter…"
Frank scowled as Kat could joke even in this situation.
"You brat!" he snapped, though not without worry. "You'd be dead if I were a moment too late!"
Kat shrugged. "I really can't worry about that right now… They're ready to demolish the cottage, and I can't just do nothing. It was my parents' home…"
Frank sighed exasperatedly, seeing the stubborn determination in Kat's eyes.
"I'll teach you other techniques later," he said shortly as he put her down.
Kat coughed. "Have you finally grown a conscience, Master Lawrence?"
"No, I just don't want to clean up your mess every time!" Frank tapped her on the head, sending several bursts of pure vigor into her acupoints and rapidly invigorating her oxygen-deprived lungs.
Within seconds, Kat was steadily standing at Frank's side like she was perfectly fine. "Watch out, Mr. Lawrence. That bastard called himself Sil Lionheart and said he's the vice-chief of Volsung Sect's Caudal Hall."
"Volsung Sect's Caudal Hall?" Frank frowned, and slowly nodded.
"What the…"
At the same time, the dust around them was finally settling down, and the residents and thugs who were more keen-eyed noticed the man who was suddenly standing with Kat.
In fact, one of the residents quickly remembered Frank and was pointing at him and exclaiming in delight, "I remember now! That boy is the Yego girl's boyfriend!"
"What?!"Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.
Even before the other thugs and residents understood, Frank stumbled and almost fell.
Confusion showed all over his face-when did he become Kat's boyfriend?!
"Oh, so he's Nash's son-in-law!"
"Tut, tut. A proper young man like him must be one of them martial artists, right?"
While Frank felt a little overwhelmed by the gossiping, he turned toward Sil, who appeared wary.
"Who are you?!" Sil demanded.
As the vice-chief of Volsung Sect's Caudal Hall, Sil was naturally strong.
But even though he was an early saw the other man leenet o gundent rank individual, henet off that helicopter. While Sil himself could hardly be certain that he would not break something, the other man appeared to be made of steel and was totally fine despite leaping down from so high.
And that naturally left Sil doubtful.
"You want to tear down these houses?" Frank said coolly instead of answering Sil's question. "You have one chance. Break one of your arms and leave with your men, and I just might spare you… Or die!"
The residents were all holding their thumbs up, quietly approving of Frank's menacing threat!
"The kid looks like a big deal!"
"Yeah. He must be a rich kid too, daring to stand against the Lionhearts!"
"Old Nash is such a lucky man, having a daughter who could marry rich."
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1430-"Hehe… The cottage is going to be their love nest! It's not up to the Lionhearts to demolish it!"
Frank frowned as Kat's neighbors' gossiping went way worse, and he turned to find Kat giggling as she wrapped her hands around his arm, seemingly enjoying the misunderstanding.
Screech-!
A red sports car came bounding down the road, and a youth in red glasses leapt off as soon as it came to a screeching halt.
He bowed at Sil. "Mr. Lionheart, they have come to an agreement, but you still need to oversee the meeting…"
That was all Frank heard as his ears pricked up and listened.
Sil held up a hand just then and stopped the youth from continuing, and he nodded in understanding.
With another glance at Frank, he warily got in the red sports car and sped off, leaving the youth in charge.
Frank did not stop Sil from leaving, since he could hear that Sil ordered the youth to retreat with their thugs.
Moreover, he also heard something else in their exchange.
"Letting on too much'…?"
Frank narrowed his eyes in thought.
Was it possible that there was a spiritron vein right here?
If anything, Frank was still feeling scared after one was found in Zamri, and he would take Kat and leave this place as soon as possible if there was one here too.
The youth in glasses glanced at Frank and Kat too, before beckoning to the thugs. "Come on. We're leaving."
Soon, the heavy construction machinery all drove off, and the residents breathed a sigh of relief.
"Thank you so much! May we have the pleasure of your name, sir?"
"Yeah! It's all thanks to you that our homes are saved!"
"Oh, Yego girl. Which family is your boyfriend from?"
"Do you plan on having children?"
Frank felt a headache as he watched the residents mobbed him and Kat, who stayed silent while flashing a look of embarrassment.
"Oh, Mr. Lawrence. Thank goodness you're fine-you really scared mez there!" the helicopter pilot exclaimed, having run over after landing and taking off his headset and other equipment.
Still, he was left dumbstruck for a while when he saw that Frank was not only fine but also left a huge crater on the ground.
"Alright, everyone. Return to your homes-be here if those people come again," Frank reasoned, finally getting the enthusiastic residents to leave even as some asked about the wedding and promised to attend it.
When they all finally left, Frank got a cab and took Kat with her to Waver Street, a famous red-light district in Morhen.
"Why are you taking me here, Master Lawrence?"
Kat was looking around warily. "You're not going to sell me off to slavery, are you?"
"Not if you behave," Frank said as he alighted and headed straight to Juno Enigma's tavern to wait.
Soon, he picked up the scent of the familiar perfume and a melodious voice speaking from on top of the stairs. "Oh, my dear husband is finally here to see me. I'm truly awash with emotion…"
Juno herself then appeared, her appearance so stunning despite her veiled face that even Kat was left staring blankly at her.
