Ch. 1531..1540

The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1531-Frank did not answer Urian's awkward question and instead smiled and asked his own. "Mr. Reno, would you believe me if I said I'm affable and don't like resolving problems with violence?" Urian could only scowl, and he almost rolled his eyes at Frank.

Fuck! This man floored all of his men instantly, even gloating that he had all of them where he wanted them to be… and then said he was affable?

Still, come to think of it, the same applied to him.

He glanced at Frank and saw the smirk of contempt Frank shot his way.

It was clear that his question was rhetorical and a jibe at Urian, who was left troubled as he came to his senses.

He was always on his toes as he made a living in Zamri and did his best to make the best choices.

However, all of those jumping back and forth failed terribly today because he did not understand martial artists.

He completely failed to see what Frank was capable of it was even more ridiculous than the stuff in action movies!

As he understood his position right then, he no longer felt burdened to drop to his knees in front of Frank with a thud.

"I made a mistake, Mr. Lawrence!" he exclaimed, squeezing tears out of his eyes and rubbing them dramatically. "P-Please don't kill me… I had no choice! You know that I'm just the owner of a small factory, how could I go against the Lionhearts? So, I'll join Lanecorp right now and help you against Chet Jonas-how about that? I won't ask for anything, just that you let this slide…"

Frank was smiling as he watched Urian beg on his knees without reservation and felt utter contempt toward the man.

He certainly would not want to take him under his wing, as double-crossing was basically his talent.

If Frank did bring him in their fold and they were up against some important family like the Lionhearts, he would backstab Frank again.

While Frank would not stoop to such stupidity, that did not mean he would not use Urian like a tool.

Pretending to be in though, he then flashed a smile at Urian. "I can let it slide, Mr. Reno, but you have to help me take down every single saboteur who attacked Lanecorp's transport trucks. How about that?"

"No problem!" Urian nodded repeatedly.

Noel had to look away-not only was the man a greedy pig, but he had no principles either!

Meanwhile, a group of men in black uniforms had gathered outside Longham Garments. Naturally, they were the Volsung Sect apprentices sent to Zamri.

Chet smiled as he looked around at them and whistled. "Boys, I've you in for a private matter- "Chet Jonas."

A youth with a cool demeanor stopped him before he could finish. "You know why we're here in Zamri, and we are supposed to stay under the radaf Lanecorp finds us, we'd never survive with just this many of us. Even if they were just wary of us, it'd make any efforts to sabotage their operations difficult. When that happens do you think you can explain that to Sil Lionheart?"

"Of course."

Chet reared his chin confidently. "Don't worry-I've only called you in to capture a woman."

"A woman?!"

All the black-clad men did a double take.

The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1532-Grom Santi, the black-clad youth, scowled. "Is that part of Mr. Lionheart's plans?"

"Uh… Of course!" Chet quickly replied.

In reality, he was no more than Sil Lionheart's lapdog-he was no martial artist and did not have many connections.

That was why Sil sent him to Zamri to lead the black-clad men.

However, they were Lionheart martial elites and naturally did not think highly of Chet, what with his insatiable greed and lust.

Even them being there was out of respect to Sil-they would not be following his orders anytime soon.

Chet knew that very well, which was why he name-dropped Sil, or the black-clad men would just up and leave.

"Fine, let's make this quick, or it'd be troublesome if Lanecorp finds out."

"Don't worry-Lanecorp would never know." Chet sneered.

He was presuming that he was perfectly discreet and remained oblivious that Noel was working with Lanecorp. And on top of that, the man with her was not some bodyguard, but the one man in Lanecorp they should not mess with. One might say that Chet was throwing caution to win because of his libido, thus sending the Lionheart martial elites straight to their deaths.

If these men knew who the people in the factory were, they would be killing Chet on the spot.

But sadly for them, they did not.

"Let's just hope that piece of shit won't cause us trouble." Grom sighed exasperatedly.

He had only recently joined Caudal Hall, but he was still the strongest in this squad infiltrating Zamri, having advanced far as a vigor wielder.

He was more or less privy to some insider information as well-their objective here was specifically Lanecorp's venture into showbis et and it was rumored to be spurred Sil's recently budding relationship with a woman.

Still, Grom only had the general idea.

Right now all he wanted was for his men to finish this errand Chet threw their way and return to hiding. That would at least make it difficult for Lanecorp to find them.

"Let's go, boys!" Chet exclaimed confidently as he strode into Longham Garments.

However, Grom sensed something unusual from the curiously quiet factory floor. "Why isn't there any security in such a huge factory?"

Chet narrowed his eyes. "I've already told the owner about my plans. He must have called in security to encircle our target-we just need to charge in and take her."

Grom did not argue, but his brow remained furrowed.

Still, before they reached Urian's office, Urian himself was calling. "Hello, Mr. Jonas? Have your men arrived?"

Hearing the anxiety in Urian's voice, Grom actually found patience, even slowly down as he chuckled. "What's wrong? Are they trying to leave?"

The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1533-"Exactly!" Urian cried anxiously. "Y-You and your men should hurry… I'm barely holding on here!"

"You're barely holding on?"

Chet was taken aback-was that man with Noel that amazing?

Urian had over a hundred goons too, but that man could handle them all by himself?!

Chet certainly did not believe it, and it also soon occurred to him that Urian was exaggerating just to get more goodies from him.

"Sly old fox," he snorted, though he had no choice but to hurry with his men.

Still, it was curiously quiet, and there were no security guards in sight at all.

"Wait!"

Grom suddenly held up a hand to stop the others, frowning despite Chet's glare of impatience. "Chet-I mean, Mr. Jonas-don't you see that something is strange here?" "What's strange?!" Chet snorted.

All he could think about was Noel's devastating figure and ravishing smile.

In fact, the closer he was, the less he was able to stop the fire blazing in his loins. And he actually thought he could smell Noel's perfume in the air just then!

Grom's interference was hence being interrupted while he was pulling down his pants, leaving Chet glowering.

This was his once-in-a-lifetime shot for getting it on with Draconia's top actress! If he messed this up, he would most likely not have a chance like this!

That was why Chet's voice was at once hostile as he snapped through gritted teeth, "Listen here-I'm the leader of this operation, not you, Grom! If you mess this up for me, I will tell Sil Lionheart. Surely I don't have to tell you what awaits trash like you, do I?!"

The Lionheart martial elites all scowled at Chet's threat-they might have no respect for garbage like Chet, but they feared Sil.

And the worst of all was that Chet was right-if he complained to Sil, everyone here would not be spared punishment.

"Chet… I mean, Mr. Jonas," Grom reasoned. "I'm just trying to say that you have to be careful. The vibes here is just wrong, and-" "Do I need you to tell me what to do?!"

t Chet glared coldly at Grom. "We're all in the same boat and basically brothers, but don't think that we're the same Sil Lionheart is the one who ordered this operation, so if you refuse to listen to my orders, you just have to imagine what awaits you after."

And with those words, Chet smacked away Grom's outstretched palm and strode straight toward Urian's office. "Fuck!"

The Lionheart martial elites were frustrated by Chet's pompous attitude, but the man was still right they could not go against his orders.

They turned toward Grom, who was seething in rage but could only sigh. "Let's go. Just make this quick." "Yeah."

With that, the other Lionheart martial elites followed Chet, who sneered as he glanced behind at them.

Martial artists? So what? They were nothing in comparison to the Lionhearts' authority!

Even as Chet relished in his triumph, he was fantasizing how Noel would be lying limply in his bed, glaring at him but helpless.

The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1534-"Fuck! I can't take it anymore!"

Chet huffed as he kicked open Urian's office door.

He immediately saw Urian standing inside motionlessly, sweating all over his brow, as well as the eternally bewitching Noel on the couch.

"Hehehe…"

Chet licked his lips and flashed a sleazy smile, Urian's earlier words instantly forgotten as he stared fixedly at Noel's cleavage. "Ms. York, I'm here for you." "Is that so?"

Somehow, Noel was neither panicking nor hesitant despite Chet's sleazy smile, even smiling at him in turn. "You've really kept me waiting."

"Kept you waiting?"

Chet did a double take and soon laughed. "So you were interested in me too… I guess I shouldn't have bothered preparing!"

While he laughed maniacally, Grom entered and saw Noel immediately and was taken aback.

Behind him, one of the other Lionheart martial elites saw his strange reaction and quickly asked, "What's wrong, Grom?"

Grom ignored him, however, and strode up to grab Chet by the arm, exclaiming in shock, "That's why you called us here? Noel York, Draconia's top actress?" Chet rolled his eyes at him. "Why else would I bring garbage like you?"

"She… She's…"

Grom was left grimacing.

He was aware of some insider information, including the fact that Noel was working closely with Lanecorp recently!

Moreover…

Grom glanced at the smiling man, seated on the office armchair, finding him familiar by the second.

"Fuck off! I wouldn't have called you here if I knew Ms. York was interested-what a waste of my time."

Chet bellowed just then, shaking off Grom and strøde toward Noel, rubbing his hands and smiling as he reached her, "Well then… Ms. York, shall we talk someplace else? Let's go to Moonview Hotel-it's a nice place, and we could take a break there…"

"Hehe…"

Noel said nothing and simply turned toward Frank with a smile. "Eh?"

It was only then that Chet noticed the strange vibe in the room.

After all, Urian-the owner of this place was standing tamely at a corner like a lackey.

On the other hand, the man who was supposedly just Noel's bodyguard sat behind Urian's desk with his legs resting on it nonchalantly, even smiling at Chet.

"W-What's going on here?"

The weird situation in the office left Chet confused despite his flaring libido.

When he turned to get answers from Urian, however, the man kept his head down, playing dumb and refused to look up at him.

"Speak up! I'm asking you a question here!"

Incensed, Chet slapped Urian across the face.

However, even as the man stumbled backward, he still kept his head down as he shrunk to a corner, afraid to breathe a word.

Even as Chet realized that something was really wrong here, Frank was clapping from the armchair before he could say a word.

"Hahaha…" He laughed as he clapped. You're so kind, Mr. Jonas!

You knew we're looking evere for you, but you've brought our suspects straight to me!"

The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1535-"What…"

Chet naturally had no idea what Frank was talking about.

After all, he brought Grom and the other Lionheart martial elites to capture Noel, since he could see that Frank was a martial artist and could cause him trouble. But what did Frank mean by bringing his suspects straight to him?

That was when Grom bellowed in the distance, "I-I recognize you! You're Frank Lawrence… From Lanecorp! You're the head of Lanecorp's health and safety department!' "What?!"

Chet turned towards Frank in disbelief right then, because Sil had mentioned Frank's name to him before.

In fact, Sil made it clear that Frank was the one man they must be wary of, and that the one thing they must never do during this operation was run into that jinx. And somehow, things took quite a surprising turn…

"Oh, it seems you know me?"

Frank smiled as he stood up, slowly projecting a menacing presence as the office's temperature dropped.

The steaming tea on the desk actually froze right then, while Chet murmured, "What… What is this…"

"You idiot! Fuck! Fuck!!!"

Grom hated Chet to the bone right then.

In the end, the reason Chet called all of them here was to abduct Noel?

No, forget abducting Noel-they had to run into the one man they must avoid at all costs!

While Grom felt the impulse to kill Chet, Chet somehow recovered despite his initial panic.

"What are you afraid of?!" he bellowed savagely as he glared at the cowering Lionheart martial elites, who were sweating all over his brow.

While he could feel danger himself,

he was still pointing at Frank as he bellowed, "There are so many of you, and you're afraid of one other martial artist?! Sil Lionheart told to sabotage Lanecorp's Vento showbiz-is it not an us accomplishment if we took down their strongest supporter?! Stop shaking in your boots and attack!"

The Lionheart martial elites traded glances just then-they had to admit that Chet was somehow making sense.

On the other hand, Grom almost passed out on the spot.

Chet was basically telling them to die! To draw Frank's attention away while he bailed!

He certainly saw through Grom like a book, just as he had heard how Frank slayed Jan Lionheart, chief of Volsung Sect's Talon Hall.

It certainly went without saying that mooks like them did not stand a chance against Frank, and killing him was no more than a pipe dream!

"Chet Jonas, you filthy mongrel!"

Grom bellowed even as he thought he could black out right then. "It's all your fault for being a lustful pig! Sil Lionheart's plan is now a failure because of you!" Then, wheeling on his men, he cried, "At my orders, scatter and flee! Do whatever you can to survive!"

But even as the other Lionheart martial elites were ready to bail, Chet shook even as he yelled, "D-Don't you fucking dare! If you run… will tell Mr. Lionheart, and deserters will be executed!"

"Are you crazy?!" Grom could slap the pig to death right then.

"You're the crazy one here!" Chet snapped furiously. "This is your chance to make history, boys!

Go-kill Frank Lawrence and capture Noel York! Sil Lionheart will reward YON for your efforts!"

The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1536-Chet continued, "Do it, and we don't have to keep hiding in Zamri! Now go! That's an order!"

His order clearly carried more weight than Grom's. Moreover, the accomplishment was especially tempting since the other Lionheart martial elites had no idea what Frank was capable of. On top of that, it was a fact that they had the advantage in numbers, whereas Frank's abilities remained to be seen.

And with Chet name-dropping Sil Lionheart, after hesitating for a while, the Lionheart martial elites except Grom made up their mind and encircled Frank.

They should just give it a try now-if they failed, so be it!

"Chet Jonas, you prick!" Grom bellowed.

He loathed Chet so much he could kill him right then, as only he knew that this was undoubtedly suicide.

Chet simply sneered at him in turn and growled coldly, "Quit trying to play up your importance, Grom. I will be telling you once this operation is over! Just you wait!" "You're going to tell on me?!"

Chet's unbelievable attitude left Grom laughing despite himself, and he turned to leave right then. "Tell all you want-I'm not playing your game! See you around!"

Chet simply looked on, not stopping him and only snorting. "What a coward!"

That was when a quiet laughter echoed. "You're leaving? Have you asked for my permission?"

Grom flinched even as he was just about to strode off, his whole body stiffened as he felt the violent death aura surging toward him from the back.

He knew right then that he would die on the spot if he moved.

It was an instinct, but as the strongest Lionheart martial elite in the room, he could clearly feel that none of them could stop Frank if he unleashed even a single iota of his vigor. As such, he paused and eventually unturned stiffly.

"M-Mr. Lawrence, I apologize-"

Before Grom finished, his head blew up like a watermelon.

Red and white splashed across the room, while the rest of Grom's body wobbled before collapsing to the floor.

"What?!"

"Gasp…."

All the Lionheart martial elites and Chet were left dumbstruck at the sight Grom was the strongest among them, having advanced far as a vigor wielder.

And he was dead, just like that?!

Everyone looked at Frank in fear, while he kept smiling and watching them in turn, never lifting a finger.

The Lionheart martial elites felt a chill extending from their scalp down to their soles right then, and no one dared move an inch now.

"Fuck! Chet Jonas really killed us all!"

swne Nearby, a bundle of flesh, blood and eyeballs that stuck to the wall from the force of Grom's exploding head fell off. It dropped near Urian's feet with an audible splash.

The man trembled endlessly as he watched, his soul leaving his body right then. "Argh!!!"

Chet was screaming as white brain matter rained down and landed in front of him, and he dropped on his rear with a loud thud.

The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1537-"Now, I have questions, and you will all answer," Frank said as he walked slowly toward Chet as he sat limply on the floor, his face drained of all color.

"P-Please ask… I'll tell you everything…" Chet was so petrified in fear that he had no idea what he was saying.

"Yesterday, the expensive equipment Lanecorp was transporting had been stolen or sabotaged mid-transit-" "That was us!"

Chet admitted to it immediately, tears flowing down his cheeks as he kowtowed to Frank endlessly. "I'm so sorry, Mr. Lawrence… We did it, but we were just following orders! It was Sil Lionheart who put us up to it-we don't dare to go against him!" Chet's pleading cries left Urian snorting coolly.

Just earlier, the man was looking all smug, bragging about how beautiful a job he did and how brightly their fires burnt.

He certainly did not look like he was forced to do it!

Still, Urian did not say a word, in case he would blow up like Grom did.

It was such a horrific way to go, and he had not even heard of it!

Urian scowled as he suddenly remembered what Frank said earlier, that he was affable and did not like to resolve problems with violence…

Meanwhile, Chet saw that Frank remained impassive and promptly shifted the blame on the Lionheart martial elites behind him. "They were the ones who did it-them, the Lionheart martial elites! I was just watching… I'm just an errand boy forced into this!" The Lionheart martial elites were left staring, dumbstruck.

What the hell?! Chet had just said earlier that they were all in the same boat, and he was now scapegoating them?!

That was not all either-in the first place, he called them here today to help with a personal issue, did he not?!

Thinking about it, the fact that Lanecorp now had them was all Chet's fault, was it now?!

And here he was, despicable shifting blame…

If there was a ranking of how despicable a person could be, Chet would certainly top it.

In fact, it was not just the Lionheart martial elites who were left dumbstruck, as Frank was speechless too.

Chet was beyond salvation, and Frank was actually impressed how far gone he was.

Naturally, he had no intention of sparing any of them.

Smiling, he dropped to a crouch in front of Chet and said, "Since you admitted to destroying the equipment, shouldn't you be doing something about it?"

"What?!"

Chet looked up right then and came to his senses when he saw Frank smiling. "O-Okay! I'll pay! I'll pay!"

Seeing that Frank was being agreeable, Chet actually felt glee inside.

After all, that meant he most likely would survive this.

And as long as he survived, he would return to Sil, and whatever he said would be the truth!

Little details, such as how the Lionheart martial elites were all killed because he tried to abduct Noel York, or how he led the Lionheart martial elites straight to Lanecorp?

There was certainly no way he would let Sil find out.

If Sil did, he would definitely skin Chet.

That was why Chet was determined to shift the blame to the deceased Grom.

He just had to say that Grom double-crossed them to defect to Lanecorp and set him up… and he barety managed to escape alive.

The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1538-Chet believed his excuse was flawless.

However, even as he was busy fantasizing, Frank held out his palm and waved in front of his eyes. "Your sabotaging efforts had destroyed five billion dollars worth of Lanecorp property. Pay up, and we will let bygones be bygones." "Five billion…?"

Even Noel's lips parted when she heard the number, though she soon shook her head in exasperation.

Frank was clearly ripping Chet off!

"Impossible!"

Chet was clearly shocked by the astronomical number too.

Forget five billion-he did not even have one billion to pay Frank, as he was definitely overreaching here.

"Naturally, the money is no skin off Lanecorp's back. What I want is to see your sincerity. So? How about it?"

Frank kept staring at Chet in amusement, intent on seeing how much Chet would pay just to survive.

After all, Frank had plenty of other options if he wanted the two billion dollars lost.

"O-Okay!"

Chet knew right then that he was in no place to bargain against Frank, and he could not argue at all, or he might end up just like Grom.

But as he whipped out his phone while Frank watched, pooling everything he owned and calling favors, all he could gather was around 700 million dollars.

It was certainly a far cry from the five billion Frank demanded.

"Shit…"

The lack of money could kill Chet right then.

However, he certainly did not dare to tell Frank that he did not have the money either, and he turned stiffly toward the Lionheart ma elites.

"Boys…" he murmured. "Anyone here have some money to spare? Let's pool it together to pay Lanecorp, and they might spare your lives…"

The Lionheart martial elites could die from sheer rage right then, but they had no choice but to play along as it meant their lives.

But they were mere footsoldiers, and only had 800 million dollars after pooling everything they had-which still made them 4.2 billion dollars short of the five million Frank was asking for. en FindNovel "It seems like you don't have the money?" Frank asked calmly nearby.

"Uh…"

Chet grimaced as his heart sank to rock bottom-Frank would definitely kill them if they could not pay up!

But at that decisive moment an idea came to him.

Even if he did not have the money, he could ask someone else for it!

As the vice-chief of Caudal Hall, surely five million was a trifle to Sil Lionheart?!

Chet put thoughts to action right then and called Sil.

"Is it done?" Sil asked as soon as he answered, clearly unaware about anything that had happened on Chet's end. "Ahem…"

Chet cleared his throat awkwardly as Frank looked on and thought of an idea soon enough. "Mr. Lionheart, I just met Noel York…" "Noel York?!"

Sil sounded clearly surprised.

Soon, a female voice snapped from the other end too. "You saw her?!"

"Yes," Chet replied, turning to slide a guilty look at Noel, who remained on the couch "So, Mr. Lionheart… After some persuasion, Ms. York said that she's willing to switch sides from Lanecorp to join the Lionhearts."

The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1539-"Hmm? So it seems that you've really met Noel York," Sil said quietly from the other end of the call. "It slipped my mind, but she's working with Lanecorp now. But you're saying she's willing to switch sides?" Sil's words left Chet flinching, his heart almost caving.

He finally knew how it felt to be duped.

If Sil had told him about Noel before this, would he have brought the Lionheart martial elites here to attempt capturing Noel, hence leading them straight to a trap?

Well, even as rage welled inside Chet, it was too late for regrets now.

While he felt stressed just from lying to Sil earlier, he now felt free and unburdened, since Sil neglected to tell him about Noel.

If only Sil had told him, would they have played straight into Frank's hands?!

As Chet found his resolve, his eloquence returned. "Yes, that's what Ms. York told me personally. Also…"

"What is it?" Sil frowned on the other end.

"But Ms. York said she has a contract with Lanecorp," Chet explained. "If she were to switch sides, she says she needs five billion dollars to pay Lanecorp for the contract severance fee. That's what I'm calling to ask…" While Sil was silent, the woman beside him was exceedingly thrilled.

"Hahaha!"

She laughed. "Noel York is actually defecting to our side! It seems that she's realized that she can't depend on Lanecorp now! Sil, you have to take her in-I'll pay however much you need. Let's see her despair when she realizes I'm her boss once she switches sides!" "That will show her for constantly one-upping me… And working with Lanecorp's venture into showbiz?! I refuse to let her succeed!"

The woman had no idea that Chet had his phone's loudspeaker turned on, and that Frank and Noel were hearing her rave.

In fact, Noel had sprung from the couch, shock showing on her face. "Rory Thames?!"

What was Rory doing with Sil Lionheart?! And judging from Rory's words, it was her idea to have the Lionhearts sabotage Lanecorp's venture into showbiz.

Frank was sighing in turn. "I didn't think that she would join the Lionhearts."

Gene Pearce, the richest man on the East Coast, used to be Rory's patron, having groomed her to success in showbiz.

And yet, she cheated on him with one of Gene's subordinates and tried to kill him.

While Gene spared Rory out of sentiment, Rory had now joined the Lionhearts and was in cahoots with Volsung Sect's Sil Lionheart at that.

What was worse, she was not content with joining the Lionhearts, and she was now coming after Frank and Noel.

Frank was certainly aware that Rory hated him for saving Gene-otherwise, Gene would be dead, Rory and her lover would have everything Gene owned for O themselves.

Be that as it may, everything was clear as day now.

So Rory was the one who goaded Sil into sending the saboteurs after Frank's interest. "Alright."

Sil did not hesitate on the other end of the call either and said quietly, "I'll wire five billion dollars to your account right now, Chet. You'd best get Noel to leave Lanecorp soon, and have her meet me in Morhen."

The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1540-"Alright."

Sil did not hesitate on the other end of the call either and said quietly, "I'll wire five billion dollars to your account right now, Chet. You'd best get Noel to leave Lanecorp soon, and have her meet me in Morhen." "Hahaha…"

Rory continued to laugh at the top of her lungs from the other end. "I'll have her kneel before my feet… And Frank Lawrence too! He and Lanecorp will pay!"

And with that, Sil hung up, while Chet was soon notified of a transfer of five billion dollars to his bank account.

He was panting heavily even as he stared at the notification he had never seen that much money in his life!

Still, he died inside when he looked up and saw Frank looking at him, realizing that the money was never his.

After all, Noel defecting to the Lionhearts was a lie-Chet was just using that as a ploy to dupe Sil for his money, just to save his own skin.

"Now transfer that money to Lanecorp's account," Frank said bluntly, compelling Chet to get to work right then.

Soon enough, another notification came informing them that the wire transfer was a success, with the bank even calling Chet just for confirmation.

However, Chet was too concerned about staying alive to answer their call. "You see, Mr. Lawrence… I've paid up. Would you mind sparing me-"

Frank narrowed his eyes just then, and Chet promptly threw up his hands, chuckling miserably. "Don't worry, Mr. Lawrence! I won't ever mess with you after leaving Zamri… And I'm never going back to the Lionhearts after duping Sil, so I'll be fleeing abroad…" The Lionheart martial elites behind him almost snapped at him right then.

What would happen to them if he fled? And he still had their money!

Frank, however, ignored the conflict brewing in the room and rose to his feet with a smile as an idea occurred to him. "Since you're so compliant, I'll spare your life."

"Thank you, Mr. Lawrence. Thank you…"

The Lionheart martial elites watched blankly as Chet kowtowed repeatedly.

Frank had no intention to spare them, however, since someone had to pay.

They hurt Frank's interest even if they were just working for the Lionhearts, and he would be naive to let them go.

With a nonchalant wave, he released over a dozen pure vigor needles that Sward the foreheads of the belongs to en.kikisto ent Lionheart martial elites.

They did not even have time to beg as they all dropped to the floor, instantly dead. "Wait, what?"

Chet paled even as he watched Frank kill those Lionheart martial elites with almost no effort. Even if they were not that strong, they were still martial artists working for the Lionhearts. Was Frank not afraid of reprisals, killing them so brutally?!

Chet turned blankly toward Frank and realized that he was smiling at him.

It left him flinching-that smile was so scary!

"Mr. Jonas, I have a favor to ask. What do you say?"

Frank kept smiling as he asked, and Chet nodded repeatedly.

He was on the verge of tears, terrified that if he was a moment too late, Frank would shoot him in the forehead like the others.

"You will take Ms. York with you, as you promised the Lionhearts," Frank said, clearly hatching a plan despite his smile.

"Huh?!"

And to no surprise, both Chet and Noel reacted the same way.
