Ch. 1581..1590
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1581-Eddie's wedding was a success, and everyone was happy despite the little mishaps that occurred halfway.
On top of that, Gina stole the limelight in this gathering of old classmates, and it was naturally thanks to Frank. Many of her old classmates were envious that she got herself such an amazing son-in-law, but the praise only left Gina at once proud, guilty, and embarrassed. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
After all, it was understatement to say that she used to treat Frank terribly—she was basically hostile, which was why she appeared troubled whenever she glanced at Frank while her old classmates praised him.
If anything, it was because he was so amazing that someone as short-sighted as Gina herself could not understand her own daughter's choice. On the other hand, the worst loser in said wedding was undoubtedly Hardy Xinder.
It was tragic to lose a son at his age, and worst of all, he had no comeback when security brought up footage of his son Jackie Xinder's altercation with Frank.
Just as Frank had said, Jackie was the one who threw a glass of water at Frank's face unprovoked before calling up his gangster friends to attack Frank.
In the end, he could only leave, frustrated and seething.
While Hardy was actually a good-for-nothing, he had hooked up with many rich women.
As he was not about to let this grudge against Frank slide, he left the wedding halfway, going straight to a former flame and asking her to do a background check on Frank.
"Old-timer…"
In the luxurious residence, the elderly woman shook her head exasperatedly at Hardy even as she sat on the couch. "Frank Lawrence is more than what you'd think. If you're going against him, you have to be ready to make sacrifices."
Opposite her, Hardy's hair had turned gray, and his eyes were bloodshot.
It had been three days since the wedding where his son died, but his rage never subsided.
And with his son dead, Hardy had nothing to lose he would make Frank and Gina pay!
"I have nothing now," he wheezed, "aside from the hundred million dollars in assets and my son's mansion. Those are all expendable as long as Frank Lawrence is made to pay." "Ugh…"
The woman opposite him sighed lengthily, realizing that words were pointless now that Hardy had gone amok.
Even if she refused him, he would keep squeezing all his other connections to find someone who would.
Relenting, she rubbed her chin in el thought. "Well, since even Jaden Favoni couldn't beat him, going straight for his throat will prove difficult it's more ideal to find targets near him and let him have a taste of losing those dearest to him… and ideally shifting the blame on him, destroying his reputation." "How do we do that?" Hardy asked, his knuckles clenching.
"I heard that while Helen Lane is currently in control of Lanecorp, things are not really amicable between her and her extended family. For example, Fleur Lang Mark Lane's second wife, has been unhappy with Helen's group f for a while. And if we exploit that fact…" The woman narrowed her eyes as she told Hardy her plan.
His eyes lit up right then, and he exclaimed, "Very good. Let's go with that!"
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1582-The next day, the board chairwoman's office at Lanecorp received two nitpicking guests in the form of Jade Zahn and Luna Lane, both from Helen's extended family from Laneville.
They were touching and poking everything, repeatedly lamenting Helen's tragic excuse for an office. Not only was there only one tea table for guests while everything else was expressly for work, but there was also a noticeable lack of antiques.
Seated on the couch, Frank frowned at Jade and Luna as they continued to throw shade at everything. "That's how Helen always keeps her office. She's here to work, not to play. Did you come all the way to Zamri just to lecture her?"
Luna pouted right then. "Tch. Who do you think you are? We're just dropping by for a visit."
Jade added coolly in turn, "A friend of mine is setting up a blind dare for Luna. A young entrepreneur working here in Zamri, I heard… that already makes him more reliable than some good-for-nothing living off a woman."
Everyone could tell that Jade was naturally throwing shade at Frank, but he remained unaffected as he simply watched the women in turn.
Helen had left them in his care since she had to leave on a business trip for a few days.
Before she left, she told him to try his best not to upset them and to satisfy their demands where possible.
That meant Frank was now their bodyguard slash chaperone.
It was only natural that Frank suggested having someone else to do that instead. But Helen was worried and insisted that Frank do it, since she was concerned Jade and Luna would somehow cause trouble.
Sighing, Frank asked Luna, "Alright, now that you've had your tour of Lanecorp Tower, why don't you head over to meet your new boyfriend?" "What boyfriend?" Luna snapped, at once disgruntled. "I haven't even met the guy. Who knows if I'd be interested?' "Luna."
et Jade showed a rare moment of disapproval toward her daughter. "He's an entrepreneur with a reputation-he's successful in his own right even if he's nothing to brag about compared to our family. You should only decide after you meet him." Frank smiled in turn. "Actually, it's good to be prudent. After all, things didn't work out for you before being too trusting isn't necessarily good." "What's that supposed to mean?!"
Both Jade and Luna wheeled on Frank, glaring at him viciously.
However, it was a dark page in Luna's history when it turned out that the boyfriend she met online was conning her all along.
It took her ages to get over it, so while Frank appeared to be advising her to be prudent, it sounded to Luna like Frank was mocking her for it.
On the other hand, Jade had the impression that Frank was mocking her connections.
Seeing that both mother and e daughter were so unreasonable, Frank threw his hands up in surrender. "Alright, fine. I was out of line you can arrange your itinerary yourself." "Now that's better."
Seeing that Frank conceded, Luna smiled smugly, leaving him pursing his lips.
These two were really nothing more than overgrown infants, were they?
Still, remembering the troubled look Helen gave him before she left, e Frank sighed at the immense difficulty of his task. To him, dealing with Luna and Jade was really no different from going straightd.?
Lionheart Estate to challenge Simon Lionheart himself.
And it was just the first day-the worst had yet to come.
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1583-Frank raised his fingers to do the math-there were three days until Helen returned, but that also meant that he would play bodyguard for a pair of overgrown infants.
And before Frank could say a word, Luna planted herself on Helen's office armchair as if she was in her own house, tapping the desk while speaking to Frank with a commanding tone, "Go on. Bring my blind date over here. We will meet right here."
"Here?"
Frank frowned. "This is an office. Surely a solemn place like this isn't somewhere you have a date? I can make reservations if you want to have it elsewhere…"
"No, I'm doing it right here."
Luna snorted, folding her arms before her chest. "I'll have here understand my family's power and put him in his place. It'd be too late for regrets if he gets stubborn later on."
Frank could snap right then-did she think Lanecorp was hers?
In fact, did Lanecorp's present accomplishments have anything to do with Luna's immediate family?! Just months ago, it was literally rotten from the inside! If Helen never came and oversaw a grand reshuffling, the entire company would have fallen apart by now!
To make things worse, Jade was nodding approvingly at her daughter's plan. "Exactly. It's a good idea to bring him here and domesticate him. He'll tame up once he witnesses the greatness of a business dynasty."
Frank found himself lacking the strength to muster a retort.
Were they here for a blind date or to get a puppy?
Also, putting the poor man in his place did Jade even really see Luna for what she was? It was amazing if someone was even interested!
And worse of all, they were even using Lanecorp Tower like they owned the place… Did they consider themselves the greatest in the world, and that everyone must bow to them?
Despite those thoughts, Frank was really not interested in arguing with those two and called the team leader of the security guards on duty today. "Chief."
Surprisingly, it was Peter Lane, who looked sharp in his uniform.
He was certainly a far cry from how he was just months ago, and Frank even heard that he settled down. with his new girlfriend and were discussing the prospect of marriage. Still, there was work to do, and he told Peter, "Bring some of the boys along with you. You're receiving Luna's blind date and bringing him here" "Luna's blind date? Here?"
Peter was dumbstruck too-what were Luna and Jade up to this time?
Frank waved him off, not bothered to explain. "Don't worry about it. Just go."
Right now, his only wish was for Jade and Luna to leave Zamri as soon as they finished their business here.
That way, he could enjoy his days idling before long.
"Well… alright." Peter frowned but turned to leave. However, just as Peter stepped outside, Luna suddenly stretched her arms and said, "I'm bored. I want to go shopping."
Frank actually snapped right then, ། and his tone was harsh as he asked, "Aren't you going to meet your blind date here? And you're leaving now? What the hell do you want?" Luna, however, was unbothered, even shooting Frank a look of disdain. "Who do you think I am? I am a direct heiress of I Lanecorp-who cares about the blind date? I'm giving him a chance to woo me, y'know?"
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1584-Frank exclaimed in disbelief, "Wait, you're doing this on purpose?"
"Exactly." Luna shrugged. "I'd rather not cheapen myself-he has to live by my rules if he wants to get into our family."
While Frank actually felt sympathy for the blind date, Jade was clapping in approval. "That's our Luna for you! You're exactly right-we have to whip him into shape so that he won't cause trouble."
Frank certainly had no interest in going after those two as he watched them leave.
He simply could not stomach what those two considered normal and simply sent two of his security guards to escort them as they went shopping. And around half an hour after those two left, a youth who was dressed formally and quite good looking followed Peter into Helen's office. Frank felt tired seeing him and wondered why he would agree to such an invitation but still explained, "If you're looking for Luna Lane, she and her mother just left."
"Just left?"
The youth did a double take, though anyone in his place would have been shocked.
After all, inviting someone over and then ghosting them was something only Luna and her mother was capable of.
Frank would not be surprised if the youth snapped and just turned and left, because he would definitely have done that in his place.
To Frank's disbelief, however, the youth simply asked for a seat while he waited.
"You're not upset…?" Frank asked, taken aback.
"Nope."
The youth even smiled. "Luna is a direct heiress to the illustrious Lane family. It's my honor to be her blind date Waiting for a while is issue." "Shit…"
BU no Frank was left rubbing his brows-he had never met another man like this one, and he was actually at a loss.
However, since he was not a member of the Lane family, he had no reason to tell the youth what to do.
Calling up Peter and leaving him with such instructions, Frank then left Lanecorp Tower alone and returned to Cologne Court.
Right now, he had more than enough on his plate and did not want to meddle in that pair's affair.
And for some reason, Frank had this ne curious feeling that the boy and Luna Would definitely geler, so he really had no reason involved any further. However, when it was late into the night and Frank was about to go to bed, Peter called him, crying urgently, "Frank! You need to come here right now. We're in trouble!" Frank's heart skipped a beat, and he promptly scrambled out of bed, getting dressed as he asked. "What trouble?"
"Luna Lane… is dead!
"What?!" Frank flinched at the news and moved even quicker, putting on anything within reach before racing to the car. "Where?!" "Grand Coast Hotel!" Peter reported right away.
"Alright—just keep the scene under control, I'll be right there. By the way, is there any chance of saving Luna?"
"No… Her head was lobbed off," Peter said with a shaky voice, while Frank's heart sank to rock-bottom.
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1585-By the time Frank reached the hotel, Jade was leaning against the hallway wall outside and squealing like a gutted pig. "Luna… My poor Luna… why did this happen to you…?"
The commotion was drawing curious onlookers out of their rooms, so when Frank raced to the scene, he immediately told Peter and the others to lock down the scene while he entered the hotel room.
"You! It was you!"
That was when Jade, seeing Frank, leapt toward him maniacally, biting and scratching as she bawled, "It's all your fault! My daughter died because of you, demon!"
Frank had to calm himself as Jade blamed him for some reason, leaving her with the security guards while he strode into the hotel room.
It was horrific, as Frank immediately saw Luna's dismembered corpse on top of the hotel bed's white sheets, the pungent scent of her blood filling the room.
It was not just her head that had been separated-her entire body had been sliced apart, and there was a sentence written on the clean wall behind her in blood: This is my gift to you, Frank Lawrence.
Frank stood near the wall text, stony faced as he finally realized why Jade blamed him as soon as she saw him he was implicated in Luna's death! Still, the whole thing smelled fishy, and Frank started to recall the list of enemies he made recently.
If it were the Lionhearts, they had absolute power and would not stoop this low just to get back at him. In fact, the one occasion where they behaved deviously was when they were working with someone else-Rory York.
In that case, who else was there?
Frank's eyes narrowed as an answer soon presented itself Hardy Xinder, Gina's old classmate.
After Frank killed Hardy's son Jackie, he the overflowing h in Hardy's eyes, but he did r anything aside from sentent belongs to en.kikit Frank suspected that Hardy had a hand in Luna's death, killing her and shifting the blame on him.
With an answer in mind, he glanced at the pieces that were Luna, shaking his head and sighing.
His skill in medicine was miraculous, but no one could piece that back together.
"Don't worry you've messed up plenty of times in life, but this involves me too. I'll find justice so you can rest in peace." And with that, Frank glowered as he strode out of the hotel room.
"Frank Lawrence!!!"
Jade remained hysterical, only struggling even more violently when she saw Frank coming close.
"Let her go."
Once Frank gestured for the security guards to free Jade, she leaped at him maniacally, only for him to catch her by the neck.
He held her against the wall with a vice-like grip, and Jade could not free herself at all.
"Jade Zahn!" he snapped. "What you must do right now is tell me what happened to her and who your daughter's been with when she's still alive! That's the only way to catch the killer… unless you want them to run free-then by all means, keep throwing your tantrum!" Jade, however, was stubbornly defiant despite Frank's outburst.
"You… You're the killer! Bleur You bastard… you killed my daughter… I'll kill you…"
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1586-Jade's hysterics left Frank impatient, and he raised his other hand to slap her across the face, snapping, "Listen closely! I didn't kill your daughter- someone's trying to frame me! Now tell me what happened before Luna died, and I might catch the killer sooner!"
"I…"
The slap actually knocked some sense into Jade, and she wheezed, "Luna… was with that boy named Borc Zomer. After that, she called me for help, and… And…"
Frank released Jade right then and wheeled on Peter, who flinched right then, with a sharp glare.
"We tried to stay with her, but Luna refused to let us come along, and she…"
He trailed off, sighing in frustration. "She snapped at me and the rest of my boys, calling us slaves and bitches, even Helen…"
"I can vouch for Mr. Lane's testimony."
Another security guard scowled as he strode up, growling through clenched teeth, "That woman really doesn't know what's good for her! We reasoned with her, telling her not to go anywhere alone with that man, but she called us names and told us we had no right to meddle, including you…"
The security trailed off, though Frank could tell what he meant from his hesitation and anger.
"Well, that's the long and short of it." Peter sighed exasperatedly. "We had no choice but to wait in the hallway, and by the time we heard her screaming and crying for help, it was too late."
Pointing at the open window with flapping curtains, Peter added, "The brat bailed by the time we kicked down the door. There's only voice recordings of Luna's scream, but we never even heard him torturing her or anything…"
Frank glanced at the window.
This was the second floor, and it was obvious the murder was premeditated, though Luna's death clearly was also her own fault.
Clapping Peter on the shoulder, he said, "I understand. This isn't your fault-go home and get some rest after you cleaned this place up. And remember, be safe." "Yeah." Peter nodded, feeling emotional over Frank's concern.
Frank watched as the security guards worked for a moment before walking up to Jade and crouching in front of her.
"Tell me who this Borc Zomer is?" he asked solemnly.
"Borc Zomer? Oh…"
Jade was spacing out as she was on the floor but came to her senses when she heard the name. "That boy… he's one of Mommy's contacts."
"Mommy? As in Fleur Lang?"
Frank did a double take the only person whom Jade would call 'Mommy' was Mark Lane's second wife.
"Yes, yes!"
Jade was sobbing as she nodded, all the light in her eyes fading. "Mommy introduced her to me, saying that Borc is Sohil Zomer's son… who is a friend and supposedly sells medicine." "Sohil Zomer?"
Frank immediately sensed that there was more to this-he always knew that Fleur hated Helen and tried to slander her or get her killed on multiple occasions.
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1587-Naturally, Fleur Lang had been hugely dissatisfied that Helen was appointed as the head of the family and head of Lanecorp. And given that Luna was now found dead in one of Helen's hotels, Fleur would come to make a big fuss about it soon enough.
The very thought gave Frank a headache, not to mention that Jade was suddenly struggling to get up to her feet. "No… I must return to Laneville at Once! I will ask Mommy… What's going on here?!"
Frank held up a hand to stop her, and she immediately snapped, "What are you doing?! Are you trying to stop me?!"
Then, she came to a realization and pointed at Frank's face as she bellowed, "Hehehe… I get it! You're worried about letting the family find out that Luna died under your watch! You don't want Helen to lose her place as the head of the family, or you'd be losing your status too!"
"Shut up!" Frank bellowed.
While his outburst sent Jade stumbling a couple steps backward, a maniacal smile soon appeared on her face. "What, are you going to silence me too? Go on, kill me if you dare! I'll haunt you for the rest of your days!"
Seeing that she was suicidal and ready to die trying to take him down, Frank had to push her away and growled coolly, "Calm down! I'm not stopping you!"
Pausing for a moment, he asked quietly, "Or are you not interested in finding out how your daughter died?"
"My daughter… Luna…" Jade burst into tears again right then.
Frank pursed his lips and stared fixedly at Jade as he explained, "Look. I'm going to maintain a media blackout so that no one would know about Luna's death no one, except the murderer.
"Also, I'm offering a suggestion—but if Fleur says something weird on that matter, you'd probably have an idea who ordered Luna's death. Don't you agree?"
Jade was left trembling at Frank's suggestion. "Did Mom… No, that's impossible! She never liked Luna, but she'd never—"
Frank scowled in turn. "Madam Lang is most definitely plotting against Helen."
"Well… What should I do now?" Jade murmured, at a loss.
"I'll have someone perform an autopsy on Luna over the next few days, and then I will find the Zomers and have a proper talk with them Don't worry-Luna may have died under my nose, I will not allow her death to go unanswered." Jade actually felt comfort in Frank's sinister vow.
Once she was sent away, Frank made sure to enforce a media blackout and cleaned up the scene before driving home to Cologne Court.
As soon as he strode in, he called Trevor Zurich. "Please look into the Zomers especially Borc Zomer and Smer. Find where they are…
to meet them." "Yes, Mr. Lawrence." Trevor agreed to it without hesitation before hanging up.
As Frank closed his eyes to rest, he was at once irritated as he could see the words written in blood on that wall.
An unstoppable air of death spilled from him he had done his best as the head of Lanecorp's health and safety department, but someone had worked their way past him anyway.
And if it really was Fleur, Frank did not mind seizing the opportunity to assassinate her!
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1588-Though It would be an insult to Helen's uncle and granduncle, Frank had to do it to ensure that the Lane family stayed safe!
Nheless, the night passed uneventfully, until the next morning when Peter relayed Luna's autopsy report over the phone. "She was roofied so that she couldn't resist, after which the suspect sliced her across the throat. It's obviously not their first time it was a very clean job."
"Got it," Frank replied, not surprised to hear that it was a repeat offender Soon, Trevor called him as well. "Mr. Lawrence, Sohil Zomer and Borc Zomer are both members of Corpsedale."
"Corpsedale…?" Frank had never heard of the name.
"Their biggest supporter is Hundred Bane Sect, and they are involved in human trafficking, collecting corpses as well as selling various unusual poisons that Hundred Bane Sect makes. One might say that they're one the worst groups in Draconia and have no principles to speak of at all." While Frank was solemn as he listened to Trevor's summary, he was still left wondering how Fleur could have reached out to an outfit like that.
What channels would she even use?
"Also, Mr. Lawrence, Corpsedale's contact with Hundred Bane Sect on the east coast is an elderly woman called the Baba Yaga. She's pretty formidable and adept at poisoning-you must be careful."
"Got it," Frank said and hung up.
Soon, Trevor sent the specific location where Sohil and his son were, and Frank changed right away and headed out.
It was still morning, but there were signs of life in a basement bar in Zamri although it was supposedly closed.
A man with an empty sleeve and limping because he had one prosthetic leg was being led to Sohil.
Sohil's facial hair virtually covered his cheeks, making his very presence menacing even though he was just sipping on alcohol while admiring the exotic dance of the ladies on stage. Still, his vicious visage gave way to a smile when he saw the other man limping inside. "Haha! What the hell happened to you, my friend?"
"Hmph." The man snorted. "Courtesy of that piece of shit named Frank Lawrence."
He was none other than Gable Lane, who was supposed to be confined in Laneville after he had an arm and a leg removed.
Nheless, he was now here outside Laneville to meet Sohil, and the lack of formalities between them made it obvious that they were old friends. "So, I guess the hag's addiction is hurting, and she wants more?"
Sohil chuckled even as he scoffed at Gable. "You're really horrible-Fleur Lang is your mom, and you're still feeding her that?"
"Hah! I'd still be confined if not for that!"
Gable snorted coolly. "It's supposed to be poison, but she's happily taking it since it invigorates her and keeps other symptoms in check!"
"You're a real piece of shit!" Sohil exclaimed as he laughed.
"And you're not?" Gable grinned as he shot back.
"Hahaha!!!"
Sohil laughed even harder and whipped out an unlabeled bottle from his pocket, which he threw at Gable. "There—a month's worth of prescription. Do remember to tell her to take it easy, or she'd die if she takes everything at once. Gable responded quickly in turn, whipping out a check from his pocket and sliding it up to Sohil.
Sohil nodded at the number written on it and smiled in satisfaction. "So, here's to a pleasant partnership… brother?"
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1589-"Who's your brother? Just fuck off."
Gable picked up a cigarette off the table, breathing out a puff as he stared at the pretty faces on stage with a look of lust.
He leered at them for a while and eventually blurted, "Your gals are nice."
Sohil chuckled. "You can have one if you like, how about that?"
Gable sighed disinterestedly. "Ugh, forget it-I don't have much time, I have to get back soon."
"Oh, come on!" Sohil laughed. "I have a room waiting right in the back-you'd last just two minutes anyway, so don't make it sound like you'd take a while."
"Fuck off." Gable laughed as Sohil threw a jab at him before his tone changed sharply. "So, how did your boy do with that task our great leader sent him on? The madam is still waiting!"
"Urgh, don't mention it," Sohil groaned as he smacked his lap. "If something like this comes up again, you pricks have to handle it yourselves. Did you know what my son told me when he came back last night?"
"What?" Gable asked, mystified.
Sohil put down his cigarette, mimicking his son's miserable rant last night, "Dad! Could you choose your targets better next time you ask me to roofie someone?! That woman must be a literal pig-I used the whole bottle on her, but she just kept going… I ended up having to stick it in her for ten minutes before she finally collapsed!"
As Sohil went on to mimic how his son dropped on all floors and retched for a long while, Gable was left laughing himself silly.
"Anyway, the boy's not going to want to have anything to do with women for a while." Sohil shrugged as he returned to his seat. "And you're gonna pay for his PTSD treatment."
"No problem," Gable agreed cheerfully. "Anyway, the hag's already poisoned the old man, and she will be banishing Hel and Frank Lawrence in a few days.
At that point, I'll be the sole heir of the family, and you can ask for any compensation you like!" As Gable puffed himself up proudly and clapped his own chest, Sohil nodded repeatedly in approval and held a glass of whisky by Gable's lips Go on. A toast-to the new head of the Lane family!" Gable chugged it without hesitation and wobbled as he rose to his feet. "Well, I'm not going to stay-I need to check in with the hag, though it's only a matter of time before Helen Lane and Frank Lawrence will be gone." "And I will wait here for the good news." Sohil smiled.
"Yeah, yeah…" Gable said as he reached for the doorknob, only for the door to suddenly be kicked wide open.
Gable had to raise his hand to block out the light that suddenly spilled in the room."Huh?! What the heck-" Even before he could finish, he felt himself being kicked in the stomach!
He screamed as he was sent flying, eventually crashing into the glass table in front of Sohil and leaving it in pieces.
"Shit, who the fuck is messing up my joint?!"
Sohil was at once furious by the intrusion, though his face dropped by the time his eyes got accustomed to the light and saw the man standing impassively at the doorway.
It was none other than Frank, and around him were over a dozen thugs, laying on the floor and groaning.
Sohil awas certainly shocked. "Wait, none of them could make it back inside to warn us?!"
After all of them were Sohil's men, and it left him even more afraid of Frank's strength as Baba Yaga had warned him about Frank before.
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1590-Baba Yaga had said that Frank was a real pickle, and they must never face him directly.
After all, the depths of Frank's strength was unfathomable, and many big shots had already died by his hand.
As such, they should avoid him whenever they could.
In fact, even though Sohil immediately recognized Frank, Sohil pretended he did not because he must not do that in order to avoid rousing Frank's suspicion.
"Who are you?!" he snapped. "Why did you barge into my turf and hurt my men?"
Frank snorted at Sohil's pointless pretension-he never intended to talk things out peacefully when he came.
Still, it surprised Frank to hear Gable's voice from within, and he therefore leaned against the door to eavesdrop on Gable and Sohil.
He was at once furious when he found out about their plans.
Lowering his head to look at the panicking Gable, he growled icily, "I knew sparing your life was a mistake."
"W-What are you talking about?" Gable exclaimed despite his terror. "I just came to buy medicine for my mother. What are you doing?!" "Buy medicine?"
Frank reached out to snatch the bottle of pills out of Gable's pocket right then and sniffed it. "This is… Mildron Balm?!"
He was shocked, as despite having medicinal value, Mildron Balm could be refined into mildronate through a special process.
And mildronate was absolutely nothing good-though it could suppress various aches and discomfort of the body, it was highly addictive and aggravated the previous symptoms of the patients endlessly.
Eventually, as the patient kept wanting to consume more, they would die from overdose.
And the thought that Gable was feeding his own mother almost spurred Frank into killing him on the spot.
Calling him an animal would be an insult to animals!
Naturally, both Gable and Sohil were stunned that Frank recognized the medicine.
After all, it was a unique substance-even Hundred Bane Sect did not have much in stock.
The fact that Frank could recognize it meant he was really something else entirely!
Still, Frank turned coolly toward Sohil just then. "Sohil Zomer, was it? Where's your son Borc? I have questions."
Even so, Sohil stubbornly continued to stall, "Isn't this too much, my friend? I have no idea how you met my son, but—" "Cut the crap!"
As Frank's eyes narrowed in a glare, an invisible burst of pure vigor shot past Sohil's cheek, slicing off his left ear in a split second. .kikis His blood gushing, Sohil was left clutching what remained as he screamed.
"Last chance. Bring him here!" Frank bellowed right then.
"O-Okay, okay…"
Sohil was certainly terrified.
He was a martial artist himself, and a Birthright rank at that!
And yet, he was absolutely defenseless even as Frank cut off his ear in an instant.
That was enough to show that Frank was not just strong, but he was also a monster no different from those ancient terrors of major sects, all of whom were way above his pay grade! Not daring to stall any further, Sohil clutched his bleeding wound as he ran to the back of the bar, yelling, "Borc? Borc? What did you do this time?! There's this man looking for you. Where are you?!"
