Alex was between laughter and tears as he watched her, and then he asked, “Do you want to take a shower first? The people from the Divine Constabulary have their own special plane, so once everything is done on that side, we’ll go back. You still have enough time to take a shower.”

“Huh? Are we going back today already?”

Cheryl turned around, lounging on the bed sideways like a princess as she said to Alex, a look of reluctance upon her face.

“What? Are you addicted to staying in this place?”

“I haven’t even got a good taste of the culture here in Puerto Rico, and I haven’t looked around either. I haven’t bought any souvenirs for Grandpa and Grandma and my colleagues in the hospital. It’s all too sudden! Also, there’s a lot of things that I’ve bought that haven’t been used either.”

Alex looked at her feigned coquettish anger, as well as the charming look upon Cheryl’s face, and he relented. He said, “Alright then, we’ll stay another day. We won’t leave tonight.”

“That’s great! Let’s go shopping tonight and get some snacks to eat!” Cheryl jumped up. “I’ll go and take a shower now.”

“The triangular one.”

Alex looked at her blankly for quite a while before he nodded. He walked over to the red box and opened it. The box had been left in the inn previously and had not been taken with them to the rainforest.

“Where is it?”

“Drag it over here. I’ll have a look.”

Alex dragged the box over so that Cheryl could see the box’s contents, but when he turned his head, he was momentarily stunned. He could see quite the scenery from the door’s opening.

That beautiful, snowy white hand seemed to be calling out to him.

“In the zipper bag on the top.” Cheryl stretched out her hand and pointed at it.

Thud!

When Alex pulled open the zipper, a box fell out from it. Alex took a closer look at it, and holy crap, it turned out to be a box of Durex!

“This..?”

“Why do you have something like this?”

Alex was stunned.

Cheryl’s face was red, but her eyes glinted with coyness and seductiveness.

It was such an obvious hint. Couldn’t he comprehend it?

Idiot!

Her heart thumped wildly in her chest, and she couldn’t cahn it down, but she said, “Girls need to know how to protect themselves. If a certain man can’t help himself and am not strong enough to resist, preparing this would be a form of protection. Don’t you think so?”

Alex nodded solemnly. “That sounds reasonable.”

Then, he shoved the small box back into the bag.

Cheryl was speechless.

Did he expect her to take it out from the packet and peel it open for him?!

“Alex, I want to ask you a question?”

“Go ahead!”

His hands were still groping around the bag, but he couldn’t find anything else. There was nothing in the bag except the box of Durex.

“Are you still a child?”

“Huh?” Alex was stunned, and he looked at Cheryl with wide eyes and jaw slack.

“Do you know how to use the item in the box?”

A sullen look appeared upon Alex’s face. “Do you think I’m stupid?”

Cheryl was annoyed and retorted, “Because you are stupid!”

In the next second, she opened the bathroom door wider and bent her legs, her hands coming up to cover her front as she asked, “Do you want me to teach you how to use it?”

Boom!

Alex’s head felt like it was about to explode.

He took out the box and tore open the pack. Just as he pulled one out, his phone rang.

“D*mn it!”

What a timing for a phone call!

“You can take the call first I’ll be waiting inside!” Cheryl said.

If Anna and the others had re turned, then not picking up this call would be a big problem and would end up an embarrassing situation if they decided to break into the room directly.

Alex hurriedly pulled out his phone.

At first glance, the caller ID showed that it was his mother, Brittany. He still picked it up anyway.

“Hello, Mom?”

“Senior, you have to be careful. The old man is really powerful!”

The call ended.

Alex lifted his head to see that Cheryl had already gotten out of the bathroom and was in the middle of putting on her clothes. She had obviously heard Alex’s conversation and that something big had happened.

“What happened to your mother?” she asked urgently.

“She’s been kidnapped by someone from the Witch Doctor Sect. I have to go back immediately!” Alex glanced at her. The desire in his heart was long gone. Only a murderous intent and a hot fury remained.

Cheryl was done putting her clothes on now, and she summoned Guilherme out from the inheritance mark on her forehead.

When the old man appeared, he thought it was because Cheryl was in some medical trouble, but he immediately saw that it wasn’t the case.

Carol met her gaze and glared back at her with equal ferocity. “What are you looking at me for? You should properly enjoy the time you have left. Time is running out for you, after all.”

“Back then, Alex’s father rescued you from the fire without any regard for his own life,” Brittany said. “Unexpectedly, a poisonous snake had been rescued back then. Carol Rockefeller, I won’t give you another chance if there’s a next time!”

Carol laughed coldly and sneered, “The feeling is mutual, then!”
