Ch. 436..440: The President's Pregnant, Ex-Wife Chapter 436-440

Chapter 436: Chapter 436 – we caught the man who looks like you

"Miss, we will have to keep you with us for a few days. Since you have no family, or can’t remember them, I don’t think we have anyone to inform, right?" The chief of security agents asked seriously.

It was strange to him how a person who had come in the same car as the fake boss would claim to not have any memory.

Such analysis only heightened his suspicions. Brea was afraid and wanted to inform the fake Robin, but mentioning him right now would only mean that she lied and would also expose the latter even more.

"I might have, but I don’t remember them," she said again, trying to sound neutral, but the reaction of the man she was speaking to did not show whether or not he believed her.

Since Robin had left him on his own, he wanted to prove his worth, and if this woman was indeed as innocent as she proclaimed, then this man would not mind paying compensation in any way he could.

"Great. If you don’t mind, can I have your phone?" He stretched out his hand towards Brea. She felt weak and began to feel feverish at the request.

"Must you?" Her voice was so faint, it couldn’t hide her fears. The man before her smiled, but it didn’t reach his eyes as he looked down at her.

All he wanted was to know exactly who she was and be able to find the other two people who came with her.

"You said that you don’t remember anyone. For security reasons, I need to have your phone," he said sternly.

Brea brought out her phone with shaky hands from her small purse and was not able to even delete her last call when it was snatched away from her.

Sensing that things might be worse than she thought, she tried another way, a flirtatious smile stretching her lips.

"Did I tell you that you look very handsome?" Brea smiled seductively and asked. The man in front of her frowned deeply and warned her seriously,

"Stop it, Miss. Such things would only make me more suspicious of your motives. For as long as you comply, nobody would hurt you."

Brea was so ashamed, her mood, and her expression contoured, as she followed meekly the chief of security agents.

At the wedding reception, things had returned to normal, but Robin had informed the MC to hasten the activities, seeing Sabrina’s sorrowful mood.

They were married and had also announced their wedding to the world, but Robin was not satisfied because his second reason for calling for the wedding was not met.

Clearly, Sabrina’s body was present, but her soul was somewhere else, with her best friend.

Robin knew that he also had to make arrangements to postpone the honeymoon until Matilda was discharged from the hospital, instantly making a few calls to postpone some of the pre-honeymoon activities.

"Brina, it’s your wedding day, but you look as if you are at a funeral," Lizzy observed and said, bringing Sabrina’s alertness to her environment.

Sabrina forced a smile as Lizzy added, "Please cheer up, Matilda is a strong woman and she will be fine."

Sabrina knew that Matilda would be fine, but it didn’t erase her anticipation of wanting to know what was happening to the latter.

"She was there for me, but I couldn’t be there for her. I should have considered it when I was setting the date for the wedding. I should have moved it to a later date. I guess I was so selfish," Sabrina lamented.

When Robin heard, he forced a smile and looked away, knowing that he would have done the same if he were in Sabrina’s shoes.

"Stop that, Brina. You know that you aren’t selfish. You agreed to set the date to this time because of what happened to me and my husband," Lizzy comforted her elder sister.

"But..." Sabrina wanted to counter, but Robin could not allow her to keep drowning in her sorrow, especially on their wedding day.

"No buts," Robin cut in. His voice was both stern and soft as he gently explained, "Nothing is your fault. I would end this event and we can go and see Matilda together," he said seriously.

Sabrina was grateful but suddenly recalled the reason why they even had a big wedding in the first place.

"What about the..."

It was as if Robin already knew what she was going to say as he cut in again. "Don’t worry. Daniel, Peter, and the agents are all still working. As soon as they find out something, they would inform me."

Sabrina was still uneasy, remembering the video she saw about how the general tortured Martin and Mara. If they were indeed the ones causing all the troubles now, Sabrina was certain that Matilda would be a great target.

Now that she was in labor, it made it even scarier. "I’m afraid. If it’s them, they can hurt Matilda too."

Robin kissed her comfortingly on the forehead before saying, "Don’t worry. If it’s really them and they are here, they would never be able to escape."

Sabrina smiled at his words. Indeed, ever since she began to trust him and do according to his plans, no danger has ever come her way.

Even if it showed its face closely, it was never able to defeat them, making them stand tall in the midst of their enemies.

"Okay if you say so. Now what next?" Sabrina smiled and asked with renewed hope. Robin’s heart warmed that he was able to make her smile again as he revealed,

"The MC will make the announcement. You have to toss your flower."

It was as if Sabrina was just recalling her responsibility as a bride and smiled shyly, "Okay."

Her okay was not convincing enough for Robin, so he said to her, "My queen, you are beautiful. I just wish that you weren’t so nervous. I miss your smile."

Sabrina paused and forced a smile as the MC announced, "The bride will now toss her flower."

At the same time, Robin received another information from the chief of security agents.

"Mr. Jewel, we caught the man who looked like you."

Chapter 437: Chapter 437 – I got him

Earlier

A luxury car pulled over at the gate of the event, and one of the security agents approached the car. The driver showed his identification, proving that he was a designated driver.

"Who are you here for?" the agent asked politely, as it was not uncommon for guests to use designated drivers. It could be that they had issues with their cars, so this was well accepted.

The driver showed the proof of request to the agent at the gate, who put a call through to his boss.

"Sir, there is a designated driver here. He has a request from the man who looks like the groom," the agent said to his boss.

At the other side of the line, the chief of security agents was already making his way to the gate as he spoke on the phone.

He was happy to be able to nail this man and who knows, he might not even need that woman anymore.

"Great. Let him in and don’t let him know that he is being followed."

The agent at the gate instantly discerned from his boss’s words that he wanted someone to follow this man secretly.

"Yes, sir."

After ending the call, he turned to the designated driver and said, "your customer is waiting for you."

The driver smiled and drove away. Upon reaching there, he couldn’t see the customer and sent an arrival message.

’Sir, I am waiting at the underground car park.’

The fake Robin knew that the driver would be followed and did not walk to him. After confirming his location, he moved on all fours from under one car to the other to where the car of the designated driver was.

The driver heard a knock on the door but saw no one. Out of curiosity, he stepped out of the car to check but heard a voice from below.

"Don’t look down. Did you bring the items I asked?"

The driver was nervous at the sound of the voice but relaxed upon realizing that this was indeed the man who had requested his service.

"Yes, sir. They are in the car," he responded without looking down.

Sit in the car and throw them under," the fake Robin instructed. He was so scared of being apprehended and quickly came up with this plan.

The driver obeyed, removing his clothes and throwing them on the floor as he removed the wig from his head. By the time he was done, the fake Robin picked up the items, equally dropping his clothes on the floor.

He crawled away in his boxer shorts and went to change in the washroom while the driver equally put on his clothes. When he returned, he entered the limo and instructed the driver,

"When you reach security check, tell them that I abused and took your clothes. You need to play the victim or you shall be arrested."

The driver was new to all this, but the long wig this man had told him to buy and wear before coming had indeed disguised the fake Robin quite well.

If someone saw his back, they would not recognize him. In the same vein, the wig the fake Robin gave the driver caused his back to look like that of Robin.

The glass of the car was tinted, so he was sure that no one saw him change. Also, he was certain that the cameras would not be able to capture whatever happened on the floor.

"Okay, and my payment?" He asked seriously. The fake Robin forced a smile and said, "I already sent it, but make sure you don’t look at their faces because you don’t look like me."

The fake Robin knew that if the driver was caught, then it would be difficult for him to also escape as they would be looking for a different person.

He had to find a way to escape before this driver does. "Alright. I will leave first and tell them that I escaped." He was about to enter the driver’s side of the limo when he recalled something and said to the driver, "You forgot something."

The driver frowned in confusion as the fake Robin beckoned him to come closer. As he obliged, the fake Robin monitored the cameras before punching him hard in the face.

"Ouch, that was too hard and painful," the driver screeched. The fake Robin spoke with a straight face, saying, "It has to be believable."

As the designated driver drove his car, the fake Robin used the next exit. Since attention was on the designated driver, no one gave any attention to the limousine that drove out of the underground car park.

The designated driver was stopped at the security check. Since the chief of security agents arrived, he had been waiting from afar, just for the car to get close to the gate for the customer of this designated driver to be arrested.

Sadly, as they checked his car, he was the only one in it and wearing the fake Robin’s attire and wig, the agent smiled proudly and called Robin on the phone.

"Mr. Jewel, we caught the man who looked like you."

He felt that the DNA test would no longer be needed and he could let the girl who spilled the drink on Robin go.

"Send him to the location I am sending to you. After visiting the hospital, I will come and see him myself," Robin responded from the end of the line, his heart warming, and his joy inexplicable for the fact that this whole charade was soon going to be over.

The head of security smiled and ended the call. "Sir, please step out of the car," he instructed the designated driver whose head was lowered all this while.

When the man lifted his head, stepped out of the car and locked gazes with the chief of security agents, his breath hitched in his throat.

"Who are you? Where is the owner of the clothes you are wearing?" He panicked and asked. The driver calmed himself and already had a black eye from the punch the fake Robin gave him.

"He knocked me unconscious and when I woke up, I was wearing this, and he was gone," the designated driver said smoothly, the chief of security agents was sweating nervously.

Robin had already sent him the address where the fake Robin should be taken so how could he explain his mistake?

No, he was certain that this man with an identical look to Mr. Jewel couldn’t have gone far and instantly alerted all the security outlets.

"No car should leave the exit, and security checks should be on high alert. The man we are looking for is dressed in casual clothes and wearing a long wig." He explained the image the former agent had sent to him about the designated driver when the latter arrived.

He was relieved when he heard a response from Daniel, who was checking the surveillance cameras.

"I got him."

Chapter 438: Chapter 438 – Please take good care of them

At the wedding reception, there was a lot of excitement as Sabrina threw her bouquet in the air, as if there were no dangers around.

A young girl caught it and screamed with excitement. Everybody was happy for her as she exclaimed,

"I’m next. I will get married soon."

It might be a cliché, but Lizzy felt that catching the bride’s bouquet brought good luck, as she had gotten married after catching Matilda’s bouquet.

During the happy moment, the driver met them at the entrance with their car. Leaving the wedding reception, the driver drove them to the hospital as Sabrina wanted.

She was not even thinking about her honeymoon at the moment. That would only happen if Matilda was discharged from the hospital and those suspicious people were apprehended.

Robin’s phone rang again, and seeing Daniel’s name, he quickly answered it. "Dan."

"Robin, Lizzy should be with you for a while. I have something very important to do," Daniel said urgently. Robin panicked.

Daniel had survived a horrible accident, so Robin couldn’t help worrying about his best friend whenever he was doing anything other than his usual hacking, which could be done in the comfort of a room.

"You should tell me what it is," Robin insisted, concern lacing his voice. Daniel was chasing a car ahead while speaking into the phone.

His fast breathing made Robin feel more uncomfortable, sensing that something was terribly wrong.

"The guy who announced my niece and nephew is trying to escape, but I’m the only one close by," he revealed.

By the time he realized that the guy had tricked them and escaped with the limo, he informed Peter to take care of the surveillance security alone, while he got into his car and gave the limo a wild chase.

If he had instructed any of the agents to do it, it would have been too late, and he couldn’t allow that man to escape, no matter the reason.

"Don’t tell me that you are chasing him yourself," Robin said worriedly, as if his heart was going to fall out of his chest.

Fear saturated his mind as he wondered the worst that could happen to Daniel.

"I don’t have a choice. It would be too late if I wait for any of the agents. The guy is smart, but he better not be the Martin we are looking for, or else you would miss out on having the chance to enjoy seeing his death," Daniel issued a warning.

He knew how much Robin wanted to handle this, but it was his best friend’s wedding day, so this fun could only belong to him.

Who knew how many other enemies were lurking around at the party? As far as he was concerned, nothing bad must happen to his wife.

"Share your location. I would send the closest agent to help you wherever you are," Robin insisted.

Daniel did not refuse, as long as it was not Robin neglecting his wedding to come and help.

"Okay, and please take good care of my wife," Daniel said pleadingly.

Robin nodded his head and spoke reassuringly on the other side of the line, "You don’t have a problem with that, but you should rather take very good care of yourself."

Daniel pursed his lips. He did not mind dying with this guy if it would bring peace to his loved ones. "

I have a feeling that this guy is responsible for my accident and he has to pay. He almost killed my pregnant wife."

With heaviness in Daniel’s voice, Robin could feel that Daniel might do something stupid and tried to discourage him.

"We are not sure about that yet, so please don’t do anything stupid."

Robin knew that aside from the fact that he would not be able to forgive himself if anything bad happened to his best friend again, he would also not be able to comfort his wife, who would be eternally saddened because she lost her brother-in-law.

"I would only make sure that he is dead," Daniel said coldly, resolve lacing his voice. Robin knew there was nothing he would be able to do to discourage him and ended the call.

Instantly, he called the chief of security agents. "My best friend is doing your job for you. If anything happens to him, you will pay," Robin spoke furiously.

This was a man trained for danger, and yet, he was in the comfort of the hotel while Daniel was out there doing a job Robin had paid that man to do.

The chief of security trembled slightly at the news and spoke pleadingly, "Mr. Jewel, he only said that he got your look-alike. I have no idea what you are talking about."

Robin had a faint suspicion that the chief of security agents would have prevented Daniel from going on the mission, which was why Daniel had not given him detailed information.

"I am sending you his location. Get there fast. I thought you said you had the man who looked like me," Robin reminded him.

There was a brief pause on the line before the chief of security agent truthfully explained, "He disguised himself and left, so we got the wrong person."

As the realization sank in for Robin, he hastily instructed, "Then hurry and protect Daniel."

Accompanied by Lizzy and Sabrina, Robin went to the hospital, but it was clear that he was only partially present, as he was greatly disturbed by what was happening to Daniel.

As soon as they arrived, Sabrina rushed out of the car and ran towards the emergency ward, with Lizzy following behind her.

Robin knew that the general’s men would have surrounded the hospital by now, so he went ahead of the two women, barging into the emergency ward and seeing no sign of Matilda.

"Excuse me, sir, you are not supposed to be here," a military doctor said.

Still eagerly looking around, Robin said, "My brother-in-law’s wife is having a baby here."

"Then you should go to the delivery ward," the doctor suggested. Robin, who had never been to the military hospital, asked,

"Where is it?"

As one of the military nurses gave directions, the three of them ran towards the ward. Robin was about to ask again when he saw the general and Cobby smiling over hot cups of coffee.

"You are right on time. She gave birth to a bouncy baby boy," the general announced proudly.

"I have to see her," Sabrina said, jumping excitedly and breathing heavily from running in her bridal shoes as she rushed into the ward with Lizzy.

Robin did not follow her but turned to the general with a hard look on his face. "Please take good care of them. I have to help Daniel."

Chapter 439: Chapter 439 - What is more important than my kids?

"Brina, I did it myself. I did it," Matilda spoke excitedly at the sight of Sabrina, Devin kissed the top of her head.

By the time she reached the hospital, she was already eight centimeters dilated, so the doctor suggested that she give it a try, unknown to her that Matilda was willing to do so as well.

Within a few minutes, she had reached ten centimeters, and who knew that she would make it, just when she almost gave up pushing because of the pain.

Devin was right there in the delivery room and seeing everything, he was saddened to not be able to offer any help to his wife.

However, the moment he heard the cry of his son, everything changed. His love and admiration for his wife increased as well as his fears decreasing.

"Yeah babe, you did it and I’m so proud of you," Devin said proudly, kissing the top of Matilda’s hair. Sabrina stood by the baby cot, looking admiringly at the cute baby in it.

"Congratulations, Tilda, I’m so happy that you did it."

"Thank you," Matilda smiled and said, spreading her arms for a hug as Sabrina filled her with warmth.

"He’s such a cute little creature and he looks like both of you. I now have a nephew too," Sabrina said after pulling away from the hug. She was so proud of Matilda and at the same time, her fears were wiped away.

"Yeah, he’s so cute like Robert. I hope that I get a girl who looks like me," Lizzy said. Matilda and Sabrina laughed.

Devin looked around curiously, as he wanted an update on everything happening at the wedding reception and asked,

"Where is Robin? How did he allow you to come alone?"

Sabrina stiffened at the question, realizing that she had not heard Robin’s voice since they entered the ward. Turning around, he was nowhere close, making Sabrina wonder if he was talking to Cobby or the general.

"We came together," Sabrina said and rushed to the entrance. "Robin?"

"There’s somewhere he needs to be," the general said. Sabrina frowned a little, disappointed that Robin had not informed her.

"Where did he go and why didn’t he tell me?" Disappointment laced her tone as she asked.

"I think it was the right thing for him to do. Daniel embarked on a dangerous mission, so Robin wants to go and help, but don’t worry. I have enough men to take care of you," the general assured him.

"But he should have informed me," Sabrina insisted. The general was finding it hard to say more, but Cobby came to his aid,

"Yes, but then you would be worried. Matilda needs you too."

Using Matilda’s name felt like magic, as it quickly erased all her worries. She must have missed the main thing but still made it in time to see Matilda and the newborn.

"Yes, you are right. Let me call and check on him," Sabrina said and was about to dial Robin’s number when the general stopped her,

"I suggest that you don’t call him if it’s not urgent. This look-alike of his is very sneaky. Please allow Robin to have all the concentration he needs in dealing with the likes of him."

Sabrina stiffened at the mention of Robin’s look-alike. She felt creepy at the thought of her meeting with him but also felt that the man’s hold on her arm, though uncomfortable, was very familiar.

"Alright. I will wait here."

"Good. You can stay for as long as you want. It’s the reason why I requested this room with enough beds in case you want to spend the night," the general smiled and said. Sabrina returned his smile, but it was quickly replaced with a frown.

"I miss my babies. I feel so full and it’s becoming painful."

The two experienced elderly men instantly understood that she was having an engorgement as a result of not breastfeeding for so long.

"You should find out Laura’s location. If she’s not close enough, I could ask the nurses to get you a breast pump and some breastmilk storage bags," the general suggested.

"That is a good idea," Sabrina agreed, dialing Laura’s number. The latter answered it on the first ring in a hasty tone,

"Miss Jewel, is everything alright?"

"Can you stop addressing me so formally?" Sabrina asked in annoyance, Laura chuckled and replied over the phone,

"Trust me, I always try, but sadly, I’m not able to call you by your first name."

"Then you have to try harder cos the next time you address me so formally, I would be very upset with you."

Laura forced a smile and replied, "I will keep trying, Sabrina."

"That’s much better so how are Robert and Savannah?"

There was a pause on the other side of the line, making Sabrina uncomfortable as she asked again,

"Laura, how are my kids?"

"They are both fine," Laura replied immediately this time. Sabrina sighed with relief and asked again,

"Where are you guys? If you aren’t too far, I could meet up with you to breastfeed them."

Sabrina felt uneasy as the conversation fell into an unbearable silence once again, causing her to worry.

"Laura, is there something you’re not telling me? Are you with my kids?" she asked, trying to hide her anxiety because of her trust in Laura.

"Yes, both kids are fine, but they’re not with me," Laura replied. Sabrina’s heart sank at the revelation, but before she could ask why, Laura quickly reassured her,

"Trust me, they are safe with Jacob."

Sabrina let out a breath she didn’t realize she was holding. Jacob had changed and was now a trustworthy person.

Still, there was something about Laura that she couldn’t quite figure out, and she pointed out, "But you sound nervous, and I need to see the kids because my breasts are full."

After a short pause, Laura responded, "Sabrina, there’s something I need to take care of. Do you mind storing the breastmilk? I hid the twins in a faraway place."

This revelation upset Sabrina, and she asked, "What could be more important than my kids?"

"Please trust me, Sabrina. Your kids are fine, but Mr. Jewel and his best friend need my help," Laura pleaded, Sabrina tensed up.

Chapter 440: Chapter 440 - They’re Trying to Grind Me Alive

"What are you talking about?" Sabrina asked, worried. Laura took a deep breath and explained from the other end of the line.

"Mr. Jewel told me not to tell you. He doesn’t want you to worry."

Sabrina didn’t understand why Robin didn’t want her to worry, which only made her more disturbed.

"But you already gave me a hint. I want to know everything else, please."

Laura couldn’t disobey Robin or Sabrina, and caught in the dicey situation, she forced a smile and replied,

"Okay. I will tell you later. I’m joining a major road and I would have to focus on getting Mr. Jewel’s look-alike."

Sabrina could already sense the dangers ahead, but with her trust in Laura’s ability, she gave up, saying,

"Alright. Call me as soon as you get something."

"I will," Laura said reassuringly and ended the call.

***

Earlier.

Robin left as soon as he informed the general to watch over Sabrina. As he sat back in the car in the parking lot, he called Peter on the phone.

"What is the situation, Peter?"

"I think your triplet brother is your toughest enemy so far. Things only got worse because he branched into a lonely road in the bush."

"That should make it easier to get him, right?" Robin asked. For as long as they were out of the major roads where innocent lives would not be risked, it should make it easier to apprehend his look-alike. But Peter explained,

"Yes, but no one expected him to get a backup. Over fifty limos have flooded the streets and are trying to cause your agents accidents," he revealed. Robin paled. He almost lost his best friend through an accident before and was not willing to let it happen again.

"Can you get me Dan’s current location?" He asked seriously, but Peter was reluctant.

Yes, but I can’t reach him and I won’t advise you to go there," Peter said.

Robin understood the precautions and the fact that he was now a father, but all this was happening because of him and he couldn’t allow innocent lives to continue being endangered because of him.

"Even if the son of a bitch happens to be my brother in any way, I swear to God that I won’t hesitate to still kill him. Please send me the address," Robin demanded, but Peter was still reluctant, knowing that Robin had a family.

"Robin, this is dangerous. Even the chief of security has been involved in an accident and is being conveyed to the hospital in an ambulance as we speak."

Robin’s expression darkened, as he partly wondered about Daniel’s situation if the experts were already getting injured.

Still, he couldn’t sit back and do nothing. This look-alike of his must not live past today, and Robin was going to make sure of that.

"Just send me their location now."

"Done," Peter gave up and informed after a few seconds. Robin could not be discouraged when he set his mind to something and that had not changed.

When Robin began to drive towards the location, he called Laura on the phone. "Are the children safe?" He asked seriously.

It would be very painful for him if the twins were at risk in any way. "Yes sir," Laura promptly replied, hoping that Robin would not discern that she was not with them.

"Alright. Just stay with them until you hear from either me or Sabrina," Robin instructed. Laura was about to agree but felt that Robin might go to where she was headed and that would mean trouble for her.

She decided to come clean, though she was told not to. "I’m very sorry but I left them with Jacob. My boss said he’s down so I have to lead the team."

Robin’s voice instantly became teary as he felt his heart drop into his stomach. "Laura..."

"Please, Mr. Jewel. More lives would be lost if I stay back, but the children and Jacob are in a safe place. I just don’t want to mention it because of how conversations like this can be tracked."

The sudden recollection of Jacob somehow managed to calm Robin as he instructed, "Okay, but Sabrina must not know this. I don’t want her to be worried."

"No need to fear," Laura agreed, since she had no intention of informing Sabrina either way.

Robin might be a risk-taker, but the speed at which he drove to the location was one he had never used before in his life.

With the chief of security agents down and Laura on her way to lead the team, he wondered what exactly was going on at the moment.

Somehow, he felt that this time around, he had been outwitted. After all, how could the fake Robin get over fifty limos to flood the road at a time like this?

It only meant that he planned it all along. Peter had been able to send him the signal of all the limos belonging to the fake Robin’s team, which the genuine one read on a map.

Reaching the location, Robin felt dizzy, as so many cars had been involved in accidents, stopping right in the middle of the road. He wondered why the cops had not arrived by now.

Perhaps nobody called them since this road was always lonely. Luckily, he was able to make out Daniel’s location and tried his number on the phone once again.

Hope found Robin when Daniel answered the call and immediately asked, "Dan, where are you?"

Daniel sounded estranged but was very happy to hear from Robin. He was the closest to the fake Robin’s car and almost nipped the latter when those unregistered limos appeared from all angles.

"I’m stuck between five limos and they are trying to grind me alive," Daniel half-jokingly said to make light of the matter, though it was more serious than that. He just didn’t want Robin to worry so much.

Robin could see the five limos, but there was no way for him to get there. Just as he was thinking of a way to help Daniel, a caterpillar truck was headed in the direction of the cars.

When Robin saw the person behind the wheels, his heart warmed.
