The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 321

Yvonne propped her chin up with both hands, “So, this is your way of asking for a favor? Don’t forget, you asked me to lend your precious sister a workbook! If you’re not going to accompany me, I won’t lend it to her. I can call my chauffeur right now and have him come pick me up.”

“Suit yourself.” Zach was somewhat annoyed. He stood up, ready to leave.

Yvonne panicked and immediately sat beside Zach, gripping his arm tightly to prevent him from leaving. Since her threats didn’t work, she softened her tone, “Can’t you just spend half a day with me? I’m feeling lonely this long break.” She clung to Zach’s arm, shaking it while acting coquettish,’ Please! Zach!”

Yvonne rarely called him by his first name. She usually addressed him as Mr. Jardin” because he was about seven or eight years older than her.

Forrest brought Madelyn to a place filled with food vendors, but the cleanliness wasn’t great. Tables were covered in discarded plastic containers, and a few stray dogs were wandering around the roadside. Along with the delicious scent of food, there were also other unpleasant smells in the air. However, most of the bad smells were masked by the aroma of grilled food.

Madelyn accidentally stepped on some food crumbs, and when she looked down, she felt disgusted and didn’t know where to place her foot, “Forrest, what is this place? Why did you bring me here?”

“For heaven’s sake, you’re being overly dramatic,” Forrest reached out and grabbed her wrist, “Be careful. Don’t get lost in the crowd.”

Forrest guided her through the food court and entered a narrow alley. After a while, they moved away from the crowd, and the atmosphere became slightly quieter. Away from the bustling crowd, Madelyn felt like she could breathe fresh air again.

They stood at the entrance of a neat and clean Italian-Asian eatery with only two tables of diners. “We’re here!” Madelyn asked, “Are you bringing me here to eat?”

Forrest raised an eyebrow, releasing her hand, “What else did you think? With your picky attitude, could you endure eating in the street?” He brushed off the dust from his clothes as he spoke.

Madelyn shook her head, feeling a bit embarrassed, “I’m just not used to it for now, and I’ve never been here before. My father never allowed me to visit a place like this or eat street food.”

“Forget it, let’s go in!”

They found a spot and had just seated themselves when Forrest pulled out a few napkins, wiped the table a few times, and then tossed them into the trash bin. “Take a look at the menu.’

“Pastina and some mini dumplings.” “Pastina and mini dumplings again? Don’t you get tired of them?” Madelyn looked puzzled, “How did you know that I often eat pastina and mini dumplings at home?”

Forrest hesitated for a moment, then quickly responded, “You mentioned it… anyway, why are you overthinking it?” He then made the order. Madelyn surveyed her surroundings, showing curiosity toward new things.

“Does your dad really restrict you so much? Your mouth and feet belong to you. If you want to eat something, who can stop you?”

Soon, the owner brought over their order. Forrest and the owner seemed familiar with each other, chatting in a dialect that Madelyn couldn’t understand. “Is this young lady your girlfriend?”

“Not yet, but… I’m working on it.”

“Then you better work quickly. Bring her here often if you have the chance.”

“Got it.” After the owner left, Madelyn asked him, “You know the owner?”

Forrest nodded, “Yeah, I used to come here often.” “Oh, I see.” She had assumed that someone like him wouldn’t come to a place like this.

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 322

Madelyn didn’t find the eatery unpleasant. She thought it was difficult to spot in a place like this. After only a little bit of time eating, the other people at the other tables were done with their food and left. Now, only Madelyn and Forrest were still in the restaurant.

The person who owned the restaurant was an old man in his sixties. He had on reading glasses and seemed to be sewing something. He was having a hard time getting the thread through the needle. He went over to Forrest and asked, “Forry, could you help me? My eyesight isn’t as good as it used to be.”

Forrest had just finished eating, wiped his mouth with a napkin, and got up, saying, “What do you need to sew? Let me check it out.’ “It’s a piece of clothing. It got a hole from a nail last time, but it can still be fixed.”

“What about your wife?” “She went out to walk the dog. She won’t be back for a bit.” Forrest took the place where the owner had been sitting, picked up an old, blue piece of clothing.

Madelyn was surprised that Forrest knew how to sew. After she finished eating, she got up and went over, watching him as he got the thread through the needle and put his elbows on the counter.

Forrest looked up and met her eyes, saying, “What’s going on? Haven’t you seen someone sewing clothes before?”

Madelyn nodded, “I didn’t think you would know this! You’re pretty impressive.” Forrest laughed and said, “It’s not a big deal. I just need some practice.”

She thought, ‘Some practice?’ Madelyn had thought that since Forrest was a rich kid from the Arnold family, he would just throw away old clothes.

Forrest was different from what she thought. To someone who didn’t know him, with the tattoos on his arms and how he looked rebellious, they might not think he was a good person.

Seeing him sewing clothes now was like seeing a completely different side of him, and it was really surprising. She couldn’t quite explain it, but all she could think was, ‘He’s so wild and carefree most of the time, doesn’t seem to care much about school, but here he is, sewing clothes with a needle and thread like it’s nothing.’

Forrest finished sewing the cuff, and you couldn’t even tell that the clothes had been torn. The owner praised him, “Forry, you’ve got some serious skills.”

Forrest just smiled and said, “Thanks.” As Forrest and Madelyn were getting ready to leave, the owner wouldn’t accept any money from Forrest.

Forrest agreed, but as soon as the owner went into the kitchen, he discreetly slipped two one-hundred- dollar bills from his wallet and tucked them into the cash drawer on the counter before they headed out.

Out on the bustling street, Forrest and Madelyn played all sorts of games: shooting with toy guns, popping small balloons to win stuffed animals, and he hit the target every single time. Madelyn ended up winning a huge stuffed toy. They played a bunch of games, and all the prizes they won went to Madelyn. She could hardly hold them all.

Unfortunately, she couldn’t take all the prizes back with her, so she asked Forrest if he could bring them to her rented apartment.

After playing for about two hours, they had only made it halfway down the long street. They were pretty worn out from all the playing, so they grabbed some street food – grilled skewers, Taco Bell, Arancini, and Suppli, which were snacks Madelyn had never tried before.

Suddenly, she remembered the half- eaten candied fruit she had left behind and turned to Forrest, “Hey, what happened to the rest of my candied fruit?”

“I ate it.”

“You ate it? Seriously? That was mine!” Forrest raised an eyebrow playfully, There’s still half a Suppli, a meat floss crepe, half a skewer of barbecue, half a fried sausage, and half a box of potato cakes left. Which one do you want? I took care of the other half for you… and if we can’t finish them, I might have to toss them.”

Madelyn felt a bit embarrassed, “Well, let’s just take our time eating. I’ve changed my mind more.” – no need to buy Forrest chuckled, “You were actually planning to get more?”

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 323

Madelyn felt like Forrest had a point. She hadn’t really planned on buying so many street snacks all at once. After thinking it over, she decided to hold off on getting more and focus on enjoying the ones she already had. She realized she might have gone a bit overboard with her shopping.

In the midst of the bustling crowd, Madelyn couldn’t shake the feeling that there were intense gazes fixed on her. But whenever she looked around, there was nothing there. She must have been imagining things.

As the day started to turn into evening, the sky slowly got darker. Madelyn and Forrest left the market, feeling a bit disappointed that they hadn’t been able to explore everything.

Originally, Madelyn was supposed to head home, but she didn’t really want to go back just yet. They found a spot outside a closed café in the park, finishing up the remaining snacks while watching the fireworks overhead.

She turned her head slightly and glanced at Forrest, who was completely absorbed in the fireworks, his eyes reflecting the sparkling lights. Forrest also turned to look at her. Madelyn said, “I think it’s about time for me to head out.”

“I can give you a ride.” She smiled and declined, “It’s alright, I’ll grab a taxi later. You should go home too and not miss dinner with your family.”

He thought, ‘Family dinner… truth is, it doesn’t mean much to me anymore.’ Then he said, “Sure, let’s go.”

They cleaned left the park. up the food wrappers and Out of nowhere, Forrest brought up, Aren’t you worried that Ethan might find out I hung out with you today?”

Madelyn replied calmly, “Even if he does find out, why should I be scared of him?” Forrest said, “Are you really naive or just pretending? Even I don’t get the privilege to stay at the Arnold residence… Do you realize what that implies? What does he really think of you?”

Madelyn answered sincerely, “So, what am I supposed to assume? You know about his ex-girlfriend, right? The girl he was ready to defend with his life.”

Ethan’s car accident, the one that left him paralyzed from the waist down, was because of that girl. He had been fond of her since high school, and they were together for three years.

Back then, Ethan had a temperament somewhat similar to the one Forrest has now, but Ethan was even more reckless. The only one who could tame that version of Ethan was that girl. George had shared all of this with Madelyn.

When Ethan’s ex-girlfriend left, he fell into a deep despair. She had left due to opposition from the Arnold family. However, things were different at present. Ethan had the capacity to protect the person he cared about.

Ethan and his ex-girlfriend had once shared a profound love. Madelyn believed she couldn’t match up to that girl in Ethan’s heart. She thought that Ethan and his ex-girlfriend had parted ways due to misunderstandings, and maybe, someday, they could find their way back to each other.

“In this regard, I can’t compete with her. Besides… Ethan might not even be clear himself about whether he truly likes me.” She mused to herself. ‘

Perhaps… he just wants someone to fill the emptiness in his heart.’ Madelyn continued, “After Ethan left yesterday, he went overseas to find her.

Forrest inquired, “How do you know all of this?” Madelyn responded, “George told me over the phone after Ethan boarded the plane yesterday.”

Forrest couldn’t be ignorant of everything that had transpired with Ethan. Otherwise, considering Ethan’s personality, he wouldn’t allow Forrest to get so close to Madelyn without a second thought. He understood that Ethan, much like Zach, could be possessive.

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 324

Forrest stayed quiet, his response already clear. Madelyn explained, “I went to the Arnold residence because I thought the Arnolds’ influence might protect me.”

She pondered, ‘The day Ethan brings his ex-girlfriend back from abroad will be my cue to leave the Arnold residence. At that point, Father will probably still believe there’s a connection between Ethan and me, so he won’t act against me immediately. But later, when he realizes I can’t be a pawn to win favor with the Arnold family, he’ll sacrifice me to benefit the Jent family.’

Forrest gazed at her thoughtfully and remarked, “You’re only half right!” He knew that Ethan genuinely cared for Madelyn. Otherwise, Ethan wouldn’t have pushed him out of the Arnold residence.

Forrest smirked slightly, thinking, Looks like George didn’t spill all the beans about what happened between Ethan and his ex. There’s no chance of them getting back together.’

Madelyn looked at him quizzically, asking, “What do you mean?” “You’ll figure it out when he gets back. “Forrest paused, then added, “But be cautious. If he finds out you’re using him, well…” He trailed off, not finishing the sentence, before saying, ” Alright, I’m heading out. Get a taxi for yourself.”

Forrest turned and walked away in the opposite direction, giving her a wave, Catch you after the break.” Madelyn mused, ‘He really does just leave like that. Finding a taxi this late might be a challenge.’

As she was lost in her thoughts, she spotted a familiar car parked beneath a streetlamp. Zach was inside, looking at her. Her heart raced, and she couldn’t help but wonder, ‘Why is he here?”

Resigned to the situation, Madelyn got into Zach’s car. The atmosphere in the car was heavy, almost suffocating. She buckled her seatbelt and gazed out of the window. The journey passed in silence, but she noticed a workbook placed on the backseat-it belonged to Yvonne.

She thought to herself, ‘So he was there because he was with Yvonne, not because he was following me?’ The time was past six, and the sky was now fully dark. Zach finally broke the silence, his voice cold as ice, “Having fun messing around with other men?”

“Did you really have to phrase it like that?” “Did I say something wrong? Are you enjoying toying with Ethan’s feelings by being around Forrest?”

“Zach, that’s enough!” Madelyn shot him an angry look. “My relationship with him isn’t what you’re thinking.”

Madelyn wanted to tell him that, if she had to compare, Forrest was better than Zach in many ways. She thought,’ Mind your own business. You’re trying to secure a marriage alliance with the Young family, but if they find out about your affairs with other women, even if you’re charming enough to make

Yvonne overlook it, the Young family won’t let you two get married.’ She didn’t feel like talking to him, so she leaned over and switched on the car radio to listen to some music.

However, instead of music, a news report started playing: “In a recent police inquiry, the remains of Julia Bullock have been discovered at multiple sites. The investigation’s findings indicate that the 20-year-old victim fell prey to a savage animal assault, as evident from bite marks found amidst her dismembered remains.”

Madelyn’s expression darkened, and she turned to Zach. “Is Julia’s death connected to you?” “What do you think?”

Their eyes locked. Zach’s expression was inscrutable, making it hard for her to gauge his emotions. Madelyn then turned away, avoiding his gaze. “Don’t look at me like that. I might start assuming you’re the murderer!”

He smirked, “Are you afraid?”

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 325

Madelyn replied with a hint of mockery, “Is there anyone who wouldn’t be scared sitting next to a murderer?”

Zach thought, ‘So she does know fear. But if she truly knew fear, she wouldn’t have been so defiant, going out on dates with other guys.’

Madelyn contemplated, ‘He’s not defending himself. It seems like he did it. Well, what can’t he do? Even if it’s killing someone, he’s capable of it, flawlessly.’

She pressed on, “She was with you for a year. Aren’t you sad? How could you do that to her? She genuinely cared about you.” “Cared? Are you jealous?” He spoke in an even tone.

Madelyn’s gaze remained fixed on him, as if she was looking at an emotionless entity. With that question, she wasn’t just inquiring about Julia; she was asking for herself too. She wanted to know how it felt to have taken the life of someone he once had feelings for. Did he ever regret it? Did he feel remorse for his actions? Did he ever truly care about Julia?’

Madelyn took a deep breath. ‘Never mind, he won’t answer, and I’ll never comprehend his inner thoughts.’ With that in mind, she continued, “Someone like you doesn’t deserve anyone’s affection.”

She believed he would eventually face the consequences of his actions, and she secretly wished for him to lead a solitary life.

“Is that so? Didn’t you try to end your own life just to win my affection?” Zach countered. A blush crept up Madelyn’s cheeks, and she didn’t respond. She could feel his gaze on her.

Upon arriving at the Jent residence, the car came to a stop, and both of them stepped out. Zach locked the car and retrieved some fireworks from the trunk before heading inside the house.

Hayson looked displeased as his eyes landed on Madelyn. “Why are you returning so late?” Madelyn swiftly explained, “I went out with Zach to buy a few things.”

Hayson rose from the couch. “Let’s have dinner.”

The housemaid went upstairs to call Jadie.

With everyone seated, Madelyn settled herself on Hayson’s left side. As they began to eat, Jasmine was still absent from the gathering. Despite the unusual situation, none of them, including Madelyn, questioned her absence.

Madelyn looked up and noticed the servants carrying dishes upstairs. The dishes seemed to be on the simpler side in terms of flavor. Recalling the sight of the basin of blood in a servant’s hands that day, she wondered, ‘Is Jasmine hurt? But she went on vacation with Hayson, and they had bodyguards with them. How could she get injured?’

Madelyn pushed aside her concerns. Some things were better left unexamined. That night, Madelyn didn’t retreat to her room. Instead, she sat on the couch, absently flipping through a book. Jadie occupied a spot nearby, engrossed in watching TV. Zach was engrossed in a chess match with Hayson.

Occasionally, Madelyn caught Zach’s gaze, which made her feel uneasy. She stood up, set the book down, and strolled to the kitchen. Opening the refrigerator, she spotted the milk but decided to opt for a cup of hot water instead. Outside the window, a sky lantern drifted by a rare sight in Venturia, as it hailed from East Asian cultures.

Madelyn remembered there was a souvenir sky lantern in the storage room, likely brought back by someone from a trip. Seizing the moment when no one was paying attention, she quietly slipped into the storage room.

She located the sky lantern in a cardboard box, nestled alongside leftover fireworks from the previous year. When Madelyn emerged from the storage room, her attire was slightly dusty. She set the box down on the ground. Extracting a lighter from her pocket, she attempted to ignite the sky lantern. However, after a few tries, the lighter failed to produce a spark.

“Is it out of fuel?” Madelyn shook the lighter, hoping it might work.

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 326

Suddenly, a metal lighter extended from her side, causing Madelyn to jump and accidentally drop the sky lantern she was holding. She looked at Zach, who had appeared out of nowhere. Instinctively, she took a step back to create some space between them.

“Don’t you make any noise when you move? What are you doing here?” she asked cautiously. “Use this,” Zach said, offering the lighter in one hand, while his other hand remained in his pocket.

Madelyn hesitantly reached out to accept the lighter from his hand. But then, he suddenly caught her hand in a firm grip. With a swift motion, he pulled her back against him, her back against his warm chest. She struggled, “What are you doing? Someone might see us!”

Zach’s tall figure almost entirely shielded Madelyn, making it seem like he was protecting her. As he leaned in, his warm breath tickled her neck, sending a shiver down her spine as if an electric current had passed through that sensitive area.

“Let them see,” Zach spoke from behind her, picking up the sky lantern. “Don’t you want to light it? Here.” Madelyn twisted her body, “Just let me go.”

“Make another move, and I’ll take it out on you,” he playfully nibbled her earlobe. Her heart raced, and she felt unsure how to react. She stayed still, not daring to make any sudden movements.

With their combined effort, Zach snapped open the metal lighter, igniting the wick inside. Their gazes locked onto the flames as they watched the sky lantern inflate from the heat, gradually ascending into the sky once it was buoyant enough.

“I heard you’re supposed to make a wish,” Zach’s voice was steady and pleasant. Madelyn responded, “I wish from now on you’d keep your distance from me.”

Zach said, “Well, I’m afraid that wish won’t come true.” “Finished hugging? Let go! I want to go to bed!”

“Is that a hint?” Madelyn’s heart skipped a beat. She clenched her teeth. “Can you please stop having inappropriate thoughts? And make sure Jadie doesn’t catch you.”

Upon hearing Madelyn’s words, Zach did indeed release his grip. Madelyn mused, ‘As expected, he does care about Jadie.’

As soon as she was free from Zach’s hold, Madelyn hurriedly distanced herself from him. Zach watched her retreat, his gaze darkening. Then, his eyes shifted to a corner. “Had enough?” His voice was icy.

Margaret looked visibly frightened as she quickly stepped forward, her voice trembling as she stammered, “Mr.. Jardin… I, I was just passing by! I didn’t see anything. I swear.”

“Get lost!” Margaret nodded frantically. “Right away.” Back in the living room, Madelyn noticed the absence of anyone around. It was already eleven o’clock, and they had likely gone upstairs. She returned to her room and locked the door.

It was three in the morning. Jasmine, who was running a high fever, finally woke up. Her eyes found Zach standing near the French window.

Her expression contorted with fury as she sat up with an IV drip attached to her hand. Her emotions were intense. Kill Hayson Jent! Zach! I want you to kill him right now!” Her body trembled, her demeanor bordering on madness. “It’s not the right time yet!”

Jasmine ripped the needle from her hand, her movements unsteady as she approached Zach. “If now isn’t the right time, then when will it be? He took me to northern Myanmar, sold me to the drug dealers, let a dozen people take turns on me. Look at the scars on my body… Look at me! Look at me now! I was just like Noelle once! That’s exactly how Hayson treated her! He’s a monster!”

Jasmine grabbed Zach’s arm, her voice shaking. “I’ve gathered evidence of his involvement with those people. Once he’s out of the way, we can manipulate the will, and the entire Jent family will be under your control! You promised, you’ll assist me!”

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 327

Jasmine was on the verge of breaking down, seeing Zach’s silence. “Don’t you know how many lives he’s taken? Don’t you also want him dead?”

She continued, “Why are you hesitating? Is it because of Madelyn?” Jasmine laughed sadly. “Hah. I should’ve guessed! Zach, you’ve fallen for Madelyn!” she said.

Zach’s eyes turned cold. “I won’t let your matters disrupt my plans. It isn’t just about the Jent family now. If you really want Hayson Jent dead, let your wounds heal first, then come and talk to me!”

Zach walked out and slammed the door shut. He returned to his room next door. Standing at his door, he immediately noticed a slight noise coming from his room.

He opened the door and walked in. The noise was coming from his bathroom. Zach narrowed his eyes.

A few minutes later, the shower sounds stopped, and someone opened the bathroom door. Jadie walked out in a white towel, with her long hair draped over her shoulders. Her skin was flushed, and her eyes glistened, making her look alluring and seductive.

“What’re you doing here?” Jadie covered her chest with her hands. She looked scared and embarrassed, ” Sorry, Zach. I thought you were downstairs. I think the water heater in my room is broken. There isn’t any hot water, so I used your bathroom instead.

“Finish up and get some rest soon, п Zach said as he turned to leave. Just as he reached for the door handle, Jadie ran over and hugged him on the waist. “Don’t go, Zach! Even at this point, do you still not get it?”

Jadie had set aside her pride and civility by going to a man’s room in hopes of getting intimate with him.

She continued, “Zach, I like liked you ever since we were young. You you. I’ve said you’d be with me forever. You said you wanted to wait till I go to college before you told me, but I can’t wait any longer now.”

“I fear that you’ll change your mind and fall for someone else if I continue waiting. I’m begging you, take me. Will you? Only then will I truly feel like I belong to you,” she pleaded.

Zach replied icily, “Is there nothing else you can do other than throwing yourself at men? Jadie, you’re still a student. You should focus on your studies, not do such shameless things.”

“But Madelyn did the same thing to you, didn’t she?! And you were fine with it! Why can’t you accept me, then? Zach…”

“That’s enough!” Zach sharply cut her off. Over the years, Zach had always gone along with Jadie and never raised his voice at her. Today was the first time he had done so. “What did I do wrong?! I’m just afraid of losing you!”

Zach turned around, “Let go!” “I won’t!” Jadie tightened her grip on his waist. She continued, “If I let go of you now, you won’t want me anymore! Don’t you know how afraid I was when you went to look for Yvonne? I was afraid… that you’d really be with her and marry her in the future.”

“Zach, I don’t want you to be with her! Jadie cried out desperately. Zach did not know how he should respond. He was worried he would hurt her with his harsh words.

“I’m sorry.” “Za-“Jadie fainted before she could finish her sentence. Zach had hit her on her neck, leaving her unconscious.

Zach bent over and picked her up. Just as he walked out of the room, he heard hurried footsteps. Someone had sprinted down the stairs.

Madelyn ran down the stairs while holding the railing. When she got to the third floor, she awkwardly ran into Zach, who was carrying a towel-clad Jadie. The towel near Jadie’s chest was loose, so it was hard not to imagine things.

Madelyn’s breath hitched as she anxiously looked away. She pretended as if she had not seen anything. Just then, she felt a sudden cramp in her stomach. She immediately ran downstairs and ignored the two.

Madelyn had already been to the washroom seven or eight times. ‘No wonder Father didn’t let me eat street food… My stomach hurts!’ she thought.

After Zach had carried Jadie downstairs, he saw Madelyn rummaging through the television cabinet. “What’re you looking for?”

“Meds!” Rosario had the habit of keeping spare medicine at home, and Madelyn finally found the medicine for stomach aches. She glanced at the instructions and quickly swallowed two pills. Then, she went to the kitchen and downed a glass of water.

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 328

Madelyn had her hair casually pinned up with a few strands loosely falling by her ears. She wore a white cashmere nightgown and a hoodie with two long rabbit ears on the hood. Zach looked at her with a dark and unreadable gaze.

Madelyn had drunk a lot of water. She set the cup down and prepared to go back to her room. As she turned around, she saw him looking at her. She was worried that he would lose his temper and do horrible things to her again. Zach stared at Madelyn.

A voice in his head reminded him,’ That’s what Hayson did to Noelle back then! He’s a piece of scum!” The voices rang in his mind.

“How many lives has he taken? He’s a monster!”

“Is it because of Madelyn Jent?”

“Hah! I should’ve guessed!”

“Zach, you’ve fallen for Madelyn!” ‘Fallen for her? Never. She’s just a disposable pawn to me,’ he thought. Madelyn swallowed hard. Just as she tried to quickly walk past him, he suddenly grabbed her wrist.

His gaze on Madelyn was totally different from the usual. Before this, Zach’s usual gaze would be lustful, angry, and mischievous, but she would always be able to determine his intentions toward her. Now, Zach’s incomprehensible expression made Madelyn feel uneasy. “What… What’re you trying to do?”

Suddenly, Zach grabbed her hand and dragged her into the washroom on the first floor. Madelyn did not dare to call out for help because she would be in trouble if her father found out. Zach pinned Madelyn against the wall.

“Zach, stop messing around! My stomach hurts!” ‘If you’re not careful, I’ll take a dump all over you,’ she thought. However, Madelyn obviously could not express such a crude and vulgar thought out loud.

Before Zach could do anything else, Madelyn suddenly clutched her stomach. He paused. Madelyn looked a little pale, “Get out. I need to use the toilet.”

She was worried that she would not be able to hold it in. Zach frowned, a brief hint of disgust in his eyes. “Go outside. We’ll talk when I’m done using the toilet,” Madelyn said as she pushed Zach out of the washroom and closed the door.

Half an hour later, Madelyn finally came out of the washroom as Rosario stood at the door waiting for her.

“My child, you could’ve gotten Mr. Jardin to get you the medicine for your stomach ache when I wasn’t around! The medicine in the cabinet had already expired! Didn’t you check?”

Rosario helped Madelyn to the couch and poured her a glass of water. Madelyn clutched her stomach and curled up on the couch.

“I didn’t know. It hurts, Rosario!” she whined. “Bear with it a little longer. Mr. Jardin has gone upstairs to get the car keys. He’ll take you to the hospital in a bit.”

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 329

Zach drove Madelyn to the hospital. Then, he registered for her and escorted her to the emergency room. By the time Madelyn was done, it was nearly three o’clock in the morning.

After Zach escorted Madelyn inside, he went outside to answer a call and still had not returned. The nurse removed the IV from Madelyn’s arm and said, Watch what you eat in the future. Your stomach can’t handle overly stimulating food, especially spicy ones. “Alright. Thanks.”

Madelyn did not see Zach in the ward. ‘It seems like he isn’t back yet. He left after picking up the call just now,’ she thought.

Madelyn left the ward and saw a woman walk out of the washroom. The woman stopped at the ward opposite Madelyn’s. Just as she was about to open the door, she suddenly fainted. Madelyn quickly caught the woman before she hit the ground, “Ma’am?! What’s wrong?”

The woman was beautiful and had soft facial features. She also smelled faintly of jasmine flowers. However, she seemed weak and frail. The woman opened her eyes in a daze. Madelyn quickly helped her up and stared into the woman’s eyes, feeling a sense of familiarity.

Madelyn helped the woman into the ward and onto her bed before she rang the nurse’s bell. A nurse quickly came and ran a series of tests on the woman. The nurse set up an IV drip for the woman and said, “She’s fine. It’s just a case of low blood sugar.”

The nurse turned to her. “Ma’am… Did you skip your meal again tonight?” Sylvia coughed, “I’m fine. This isn’t the first time. Thank you for your help.”

“You can’t keep doing this. You need to eat a little, at the very least. I’ll have someone bring you some oatmeal.”

Sylvia nodded and had a small smile, ” Thank you.”

“No worries.”

After the nurse left, Sylvia turned to Madelyn. “Thank you, child. What’s your name?” “I’m Madelyn Jent. Since you’re fine, I’ll be taking my leave.”

“Thank you, Madelyn!”

Madelyn smiled lightly, “No worries.”

Sylvia watched Madelyn leave.

‘She really is a good-looking girl.

Forrest has good taste,’ she thought. Madelyn walked out of the ward and saw Zach talking to a nurse in the hallway to the elevator. However, he did not look happy. He emitted an air of hostility, which seemed to be frightening the nurse.

‘I wonder what happened,’ thought Madelyn. She walked closer and heard Zach angrily say, “Didn’t I tell you to watch her? Now that she’s missing, you’re telling me you don’t know where she’s gone? Is this your hospital’s solution to the problem?”

“Please calm down, Mr. Jardin. We’ve already sent someone to check the security footage.” The nurse noticed Madelyn behind them. She had already changed out of her hospital gown.

“Ms. Jent?!” the nurse exclaimed. Zach frowned and turned to look at her. Under his intense gaze, Madelyn felt a chill run down her spine.

He icily questioned her, “Where’d you go just now?!” Madelyn answered without meeting his gaze, “To the washroom.”

‘The washroom? The nurse just came out of the washroom, and nobody was in there. Besides, there’s a washroom in the ward. So which washroom did she go to?’ wondered Zach.

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 330

‘Liar!’ Zach said to himself. After the discharge procedures were complete, Madelyn got into the car. On the way back, neither of them said a word. It was a time when one would usually feel tired, yet Madelyn’s mind was awake. ‘Zach seemed angry just now. ‘Cause he thought I went missing? But why?”

Lost in thought, Madelyn leaned back in the car seat and drifted off without realizing it. She didn’t know how much time had passed while she was sleeping, but then she felt a tickle on her neck. Moving around a bit, she had a hard time breathing. When she opened her eyes, she saw Zach’s hair. A strange sensation went through her like electricity. ‘Zach, stop…’ She said, sounding kind of alluring even though she was still groggy.

Her seat had been reclined, and she couldn’t get up no matter how hard she tried. “For heaven’s sake, I’ve just come out of the hospital!”

Madelyn gazed out the car window and noticed they were in the garage at Jent residence. Her shirt had been pulled up, and the cold air made her skin feel chilly. She held onto his hair with her fingers, trying to stop him. But his rough fingers pressed and kneaded her sensitive parts, causing her to moan.

“Stop it!” Madelyn bit down on his shoulder when she regained her senses. Even though it was wintertime, he wasn’t dressed in heavy clothes. His skin felt solid under her bite.

As if he was trying to punish her, he suddenly moved his hand downward, brushing his fingers against her outer slit. Madelyn immediately released her bite, feeling restless, her face flushed. “…Don’t go too far!”

Zach halted his actions. He looked at her with lustful eyes. “You enjoy biting? I can feel you tighten.” “You bastard!” Madelyn’s anger flared, and she suddenly slapped him. Zach’s expression darkened. Madelyn felt nervous under his stare.

Tears of humiliation filled her eyes, and her voice trembled, “You are so mean… We’re at my home, right at the doorstep. What am I to you?” She covered her eyes with her arm and sobbed.

Seeing her in that state, Zach immediately lost interest. He withdrew his hand and ran his glistening fingers across her lips. “Don’t go messing around with other guys, understood?

“You have no right to control me. Why should I listen to you?” Madelyn angrily pushed him away. “Get off me!”

Her eyes were watery with tears when she glared at him. “If you keep treating me like this, I’ll never come back home! Never!”

“Getting bold now, huh? Not afraid I’ll send those videos to him, hmm?”

“Go ahead, send it. I dare you. I’ll just tell Father you forced yourself on me! I’ll report you to the police for harassment and assault! I’d rather ruin my reputation and even go as far as suicide than endure your repeated humiliations, Zach! I’m not powerless!”

“Say that again!” Zach’s gaze turned fierce all of a sudden, his hand gripping her. Madelyn defiantly stared at him, “I’ll say it again and again! You did this to me against my consent multiple times. It’s truly disgusting! I’d rather live with others than spend time with someone like you. Do you get some kind of accomplishment from forcing yourself on a highschooler? I’d rather be with Ethan than have anything to do with you, you disgusting jerk!”

Zach looked into Madelyn’s eyes. His intimidating gaze was so intense as if he wanted to devour her. He saw nothing in her eyes but disgust.
