Chapter 406: Izaak’s Past 6

In the soft morning light, Izaak woke to find Roseline peacefully asleep beside him. Her soft tresses lay scattered over the pillow, and with a tender smile, Izaak gently ran his fingers through them. He leaned down to plant a delicate kiss on her forehead before carefully slipping out of bed, trying not to disturb her slumber.

After bathing and dressing in his formal robes, Izaak found himself in an unusually cheerful mood. His heart light, he turned to Zerah and said, "There will be no work for me today. I intend to spend the entire day with my wife."

"Of course, Your Highness," Zerah replied with a respectful bow. "I will clear your schedule immediately." With that, Zerah exited the chamber.

Izaak made his way to the royal garden, his thoughts consumed by how little time he’d dedicated to romance lately. He wanted to surprise Roseline with flowers, so he wandered through the garden, contemplating whether roses or peonies would please her more. As he knelt to pick a few, a familiar voice broke the quiet.

"I told you I didn’t want to be disturbed today," Izaak said, his tone firm as he turned to face Zerah.

"Forgive me, Your Highness," Zerah said, bowing again. "I am not here on business. I thought you would like to know that Prince Magnus has just arrived at the palace. He will only be here for an hour before departing again. Since you expressed a desire to see him last time, I believed it necessary to inform you."

"Hm." Izaak furrowed his brows in mild irritation, remembering how he never enjoyed being lectured by Magnus. Still, he had a genuine concern for his younger brother’s well-being, and the desire to check on him outweighed his reluctance.

Making his way to the chamber where Magnus was resting, Izaak entered to find his brother reclining on a sofa, eyes closed, as if stealing a brief moment of peace. Without hesitation, Izaak seated himself across from him, his expression softening slightly.

"Why don’t you stay the night here?" Izaak suggested, his tone less formal than usual. "And instead of sleeping on that sofa, you can use the bed. You should rest properly."

Magnus, without opening his eyes fully, tilted his head slightly, his lips curling into a faint smirk. "I never asked you to intrude on my rest, Izaak," he replied, his voice laced with both fatigue and a hint of sarcasm.

Izaak shook his head, ignoring the barbed remark. He knew Magnus often used sharp words to mask his true feelings, and he wasn’t going to be deterred today.

"I couldn’t thank you properly last time. I ignored what you told me," Izaak admitted, his voice quieter, betraying a hint of regret. He glanced down briefly, feeling the weight of unresolved emotions.

Magnus, sensing the shift, softened his tone as he replied, "That was the past. Have you really not moved on yet? It’s been ten years since your marriage to Roseline."

Izaak exhaled slowly. "Falling in love for the first time is... different," he mused. "But I have moved on. Roseline is a wonderful woman, and I trust her more than I trust myself now."

Magnus nodded approvingly, a rare moment of gentleness in his usually sharp demeanor. "That’s good to hear."

Izaak leaned forward slightly, a playful glint in his eyes as he shifted the conversation. "And what about you, Magnus? Have you found someone yet? I heard from Alaric that Scarlet was asking about you a few weeks ago."

A small, knowing smile tugged at Izaak’s lips, but Magnus remained unfazed. "I’m not easy to fall in love, Izaak. Truth to be told, I find it a waste of time," Magnus said with a shrug, his tone firm. "I’m content living alone, doing what I want without anyone intruding. That’s how I prefer it."

Izaak chuckled softly, shaking his head. "You always say that, but one day, someone will come along and make you eat your words."

"We’ll see," Magnus muttered, a faint smirk on his lips, though his eyes remained distant. "That will never be Scarlet," Magnus muttered in a sharper tone. "So, my dear brother, don’t try to set me up with her. I hate it."

Izaak chuckled softly. "I won’t, rest assured." He knew better than to push Magnus on matters of the heart. His brother had always been hard to break, seemingly uninterested in women or romance. Magnus was the type who found comfort in solitude, preferring his own company over anyone else’s.

For a brief moment, the room fell silent, until Magnus broke it with an unexpected question. "Have you had a vision?"

Izaak blinked, confused by the sudden shift. "A vision? About what?" he asked, his gaze searching Magnus’s face for clarity.

"About your wife and you," Magnus clarified, his eyes narrowing slightly as he studied Izaak’s reaction.

Izaak furrowed his brows, not understanding the depth of the question. "No, I haven’t," he answered slowly. "Why do you ask?"

Magnus leaned back, his gaze distant once again. "I just thought you might have... after all these years." His cryptic words lingered, leaving Izaak unsettled as if there was something more his brother wasn’t saying. "You get vision for everyone, but not for your own married life. Isn’t that strange?"

"It’s not strange," Izaak replied.

"It’s my time to leave. We had enough conversation," Magnus sat up before rising to his feet.

"Why do your hair look damp?" Izaak finally noticed that.

"I went into a lake to rescue a little girl," Magnus replied.

"A human?" Izaak arched his eyebrow and stood up as well. The two brothers walked out of the chamber.

"Yes, the girl was a human," Magnus answered.

"You never get involved with humans," Izaak said.

"She asked for help and I did. How did I get involved with a human?" Magnus chuckled as they continued to walk straight in the corridor.

"You helped a human which is weird. You don’t help unless you want something," Izaak stated.

"Maybe today I wanted nothing," Magnus answered. "I take my leave, Brother. Have a great married life," he said and headed in the other direction, leaving Izaak alone at his place.

Chapter 407: Izaak’s Past 7

"I think we need to stop seeing each other for a while," Roseline said softly, her voice tinged with frustration. "Last night, I was nearly caught because of the bruise you left. I told you to be more careful."

Brandon’s brow furrowed as he clenched his fists. "I don’t understand, Rose. How much longer do we have to hide like this? It’s been five years already. You promised you’d find a way out, but we’re still stuck in the same place."

Roseline sighed, her eyes reflecting a mixture of guilt and helplessness. "Izaak refuses to take the throne, and that’s what’s holding me back. As long as he won’t step into his role, I can’t risk separating from him. I thought that becoming Queen would give me the leverage we need, that it would make things easier. You know how much I love you, Brandon," she added, her fingers gently tracing the curve of his jaw. "For you, I even... I even terminated the child I was carrying for Izaak."

"Yes, I know," Brandon said. "What I don’t understand is why your hatred for Prince Izaak runs so deep. Do you really think that if he were to find out about us, he’d spare us? This is the fear that gnaws at me every single day. Despite our luck so far, the danger remains ever-present."

He brought Roseline’s hand close to his lips, pressing a tender kiss to her knuckles. The gesture was meant to offer comfort but also to emphasize his concern.

Roseline looked away, her expression a mix of anguish and defiance. "I wanted to be in love with him," she began, her voice trembling with suppressed anger.

"But in the early years of our marriage, he avoided all forms of intimacy with me. It was as if I was invisible to him. And then, there’s the fact that he’s murdered three of his previous wives. The thought that he might turn on me next has always terrified me. He often speaks of them with a cold detachment that only adds to my fury. But what enrages me the most is his constant suspicion. He’s never truly understood me, never grasped what I need or desire. His lack of empathy and understanding makes everything worse."

Brandon cupped Roseline’s face in his hands and kissed her gently, his touch both soothing and reassuring. "Calm down, Rose," he murmured between kisses. "I can wait for you, no matter how long it takes. The truth is, I love you more than my own life. Your happiness means more to me than my own."

As his lips brushed against hers, he conveyed his deep affection and unwavering commitment.

Roseline, her eyes fluttering closed, wrapped her arms around his neck, drawing him closer. A soft, contented smile curved her lips. "Brandon," she whispered, her voice barely audible but full of sincerity. "I love you." The warmth of her words, combined with the closeness of their embrace, conveyed the depth of her feelings and the solace she found in his love.

~~~~
In the evening, Roseline entered the chamber, only to be greeted by complete darkness. Her voice held a trace of irritation as she murmured, "Where are the servants? Shouldn’t they have lit the lanterns by now?"
As she moved forward, her eyes gradually adjusted to the dim light, and she noticed a flickering glow coming from the far end of the room. Pushing aside the heavy curtains, she stepped cautiously toward the source of the light and saw Izaak lounging in an armchair, his posture relaxed and almost casual.
"Your Highness," Roseline began, her tone tinged with concern, "why didn’t you ask the servants to light the lanterns and candles?"
Her question was cut short by a sudden, startling sound. A knife whizzed through the air, grazing her cheek before embedding itself in the wall behind her. The sharp clank of the blade hitting the stone wall echoed through the chamber, and the knife clattered to the floor, its metallic sound contrasting sharply with the silence that followed.
Roseline’s heart raced, and she froze, her gaze locked onto Izaak, who remained unmoved in his chair, his expression inscrutable.
"Oops! I missed the target!" Izaak’s voice, laced with a twisted amusement, cut through the tension in the room.
Roseline’s eyes widened in terror. "Your Highness, wh-what are you doing?" she stammered, her fear palpable. "How could you—" Her question was abruptly silenced as Izaak’s hand closed tightly around her throat, his grip fierce and unyielding.
"Five years," Izaak growled, his face darkening with rage. "For five years, you’ve been deceiving me. Roseline, you’ve proven to be a thorn in my side rather than the beautiful flower I once thought you were." His eyes, now a menacing shade of red, bore into her with a fury that made her heart pound with dread.
The realization hit Roseline like a jolt— Izaak had uncovered her affair. Desperation surged through her, and she tried to push him away, her mind racing to escape to the Queen or the King, hoping they would intervene and save her from Izaak’s wrath.
But Izaak was faster. He grabbed her by the hair, yanking her head back with a sharp tug that made her cry out in pain. "Ahhh!" Roseline screamed as she was forcefully shoved against the wall, the impact sending a jolt through her body.
"Why?" Izaak’s voice was a roar of anguish and fury. "Why did you kill my child? Why didn’t you tell me about it?!!!" His screams echoed through the chamber, a raw expression of his betrayal and heartbreak.
"Too bad, Roseline," Izaak said coldly, his voice laced with contempt. "You shouldn’t have cheated on me. You should have told me you wanted to separate. Just like those three before you, it seems you were after the throne, not me. I wish you had loved me the way I loved you." He released his grip on her hair, letting her slump to the floor.
Roseline turned to face him, her tears flowing freely. "You were selfish! You always thought only of yourself and never trusted me!" she shouted, her voice trembling with hurt and anger.
"Rose, shut your mouth!" Izaak roared, his face twisted in fury. "You were the one who started comforting me! Because of you, I believed in love. If I had ever suspected you, I would have discovered the truth sooner. But I didn’t! How dare you kill my child?" His hand tightened around her throat again, his grip brutal.
"Bring that bastard here!" Izaak commanded, his voice echoing with menace.
Roseline watched in horror as Brandon was dragged into the room. Her heart ached at the sight of him, and she shook her head desperately.
"You love him, don’t you?" Izaak sneered, shoving Roseline away. "Watch closely as I tear his heart out!"
"No! Don’t!" Roseline cried, positioning herself in front of Brandon. "Izaak, kill me instead. But spare him, I beg you. Please," she pleaded, her hands clasped together in a desperate gesture.
Brandon, tears welling in his eyes, looked at Roseline with a pain. "Rose, let me die. There’s no point in living if it means this," he said, his voice breaking with despair.
Izaak’s fists clenched tightly as he observed their display of affection. His heart, already shattered by betrayal and the loss of his unborn child, felt a deeper sting.
He realized that despite his hopes, his love for Roseline had been a mere illusion. The fourth time, he had hoped for love but found only deceit, a bigger one and agony. The finality of his resolve settled within him—both Roseline and Brandon would pay for their betrayal.
Chapter 408: Guided it to her chest
Learning the brutality of Izaak’s past had left Melody’s heart heavy with sorrow. She had fought to hold back her tears in his presence, not wanting to burden him with her emotions or make him feel responsible for her sadness. Yet now, as she sat in the stillness of her chamber, the weight of it all became too much to bear.
She wiped away the tears that slipped down her cheeks, her fingers trembling slightly as she sat near the window, bathed in the soft glow of the crescent moonlight.
It was in these quiet moments, away from Izaak’s gaze, that her sorrow poured out without any restraint. She couldn’t stop thinking about everything he had endured, the betrayals, yet he never stopped loving.
"Why did they do this to him?" she murmured to herself. "Is the throne really worth more than a person? More than a heart that could have been so full of love?" She rubbed her eyes with the back of her hand, trying to rid herself of the burning sadness that lingered inside her.
She turned her gaze out the window, looking up at the crescent-shaped moon hanging high in the night sky. The moonlight seemed to cast a serene glow.
Closing her eyes, she prayed silently, her lips moving faintly in the moon’s reflection. ’Please, give him peace. Give him the strength to overcome what has been done to him. Let him find joy again, somehow... Give me strength that I can always bring love to him.’ The prayer was simple, but the sincerity in her heart gave it weight.
"Your Highness, it’s time for dinner. The King requests everyone to gather in the dining hall," Freya, the attendant, announced softly as she stood at the doorway, her posture respectful and poised.
Melody turned her head slightly, acknowledging the message with a nod. "Thank you, Freya. I’ll be down shortly," she replied, her voice steady despite the turmoil in her heart.
Freya bowed gracefully, her eyes lowering in deference. "Of course, Your Highness. I shall leave you to prepare," she said before stepping out of the chamber, her footsteps barely audible as she closed the door quietly behind her.
Melody went to the washroom she splashed cool water onto her tear-streaked face.
She stared at her reflection in the mirror for a moment, the water droplets clinging to her skin. Grabbing a soft towel, she gently dabbed her face dry.
Once ready, Melody headed out only to find Izaak was just outside the chamber.
"I thought we should walk together for the dining hall," Izaak stated with a smile.
Melody smiled back and walked along with him. "Don’t overthink about my past. I know you’ve silently cried since your eyes are a bit puffy," he said in a low voice. "Magnus told me one thing not long ago. I will find a right person for me at the right time." His hand grasped hers as he continued, "And it’s you."
"I won’t do any promises because I want to prove through my actions to Prince Izaak how much I love him," Melody said.
"I trust you. I can see the love in your eyes, in your words and the smallest of your actions," Izaak asserted.
Melody tightened her grip on his hand and smiled slowly.
~~~~~

Venus pushed open the door of her room before her feet lifted off the floor, her back pressing against the now-closed door with a thud. Her eyes widened, but she immediately knew it was Odin. His arms wrapped around her tightly as his lips crashed against hers in a fervent kiss, leaving no space for protest.

With vampiric speed, Odin carried her effortlessly to the bed, his body pressing down on hers with an undeniable intensity. His lips moved with hunger, refusing to part from hers as if he had been starving for this moment.

His kiss was all-consuming, igniting a fire between them that neither could ignore. If he had to describe how he felt in one word, it would be ’hungry’.

Venus pressed her palms against Odin’s chest, moaning softly as she pushed him back, gasping for air. "Odin, wa-wait," she murmured, glancing toward the door to make sure it was fully closed.

"No one is around," Odin whispered, his fingers gently gripping her chin and tilting her face back toward his, forcing her to meet his intense gaze.

"You’re insane, Odin," Venus chuckled softly, her breath still uneven.

"Yes, for you," he replied, his voice sincere and unwavering.

Her smile widened, warmth blooming in her chest at his words. "We aren’t married yet. So, you need to wait a little," she whispered, her tone gentle but firm as she sought his understanding.

Odin’s brows furrowed slightly, though he nodded in agreement. "Is marriage really important to become one? I believe if we’ve accepted each other in our hearts, that’s all that matters. But I respect your decision." His voice was calm, though his restraint was palpable. Leaving her like this was harder than he wanted to admit.

Before he could pull away completely, Venus locked her arms around his neck, pulling him back to her. "Well... you know I’ve never done anything like this before, even with my former husband. I-I’m just shy... a bit. But yes, I’ve accepted you as my husband from the bottom of my heart."

Her voice trembled slightly with the confession, and the vulnerability in her words caused Odin’s gaze to soften. He placed his hand on her cheek, his thumb brushing against her skin as he leaned his forehead against hers. "I understood. Blame my vampiric nature to be like this," he whispered with adoration.

"I like seeing this side of you," Venus whispered, her voice soft but laced with desire. Without waiting for a reply, she leaned in and captured his lips in a kiss that was anything but gentle. What began as a tentative exchange turned into something much more heated, urgent, and consuming.

Odin’s hands gripped her waist as he pulled her closer, and their kiss deepened. Venus let go of her shyness, the usual restraint that had held her back. Her fingers tangled in his hair as she pressed herself against him, their bodies melding together as if they’d done this countless times before.

Venus broke the kiss momentarily, her chest rising and falling heavily as she gasped for air. She hesitated, but then, feeling the strength of their connection, she took Odin’s hand and gently guided it to her chest.

Her heart pounded beneath his palm, and for the first time, her touch was free of hesitation. It was a gesture of complete trust and surrender.

Odin’s eyes, darkened with desire, met hers as he felt the rapid beat of her heart beneath his fingers. His lips curved into a slight smile.

"Venus," he murmured, his voice low and rough, "I’ve never seen you like this." His thumb brushed against the fabric of her dress where her heartbeat was strongest, and she shuddered in response.

Chapter 409: Alora is pregnant!

Days passed after Lillian and Lewis’s marriage. Even Izaak and Melody had departed, while Alaric and Scarlet were away on a month-long vacation outside Velaris.

Alora closed her personal diary with a contented sigh, having penned down all the recent happy events. She carefully placed the diary back in her drawer, but as she did, a strange sensation washed over her. A sudden thirst for blood gripped her, accompanied by an unexpected heat spreading through her body.

It was unlike anything she had experienced before. Alora had never felt a desire for blood this intense. Confused and restless, she left her bedchamber, hoping to find Selvina to ask her to fetch some blood, only to recall that Selvina had gone out with Griffin.

The sweet, intoxicating scent that teased her nostrils was impossible to ignore. She found herself instinctively following it, her senses heightened and her steps purposeful. The scent led her to an unexpected sight—Magnus, standing before her in the hallway, coming from the council. Behind him Tobias was standing.

Magnus looked surprised to see her. "Alora? Is everything alright?" His voice was calm, but his keen eyes didn’t miss the way she seemed tense, almost... hungry.

Alora took a step back, realizing how intense her stare had become. She could hear his pulse, the scent of his blood so strong it almost made her head spin. She clenched her fists, trying to regain control. "I—I’m fine, just a little... distracted," she managed to say, her voice strained.

Magnus raised an eyebrow, taking a cautious step closer. "Distracted? By what?"

She hesitated, unsure how to explain. "I... I need blood," she finally confessed, her voice barely a whisper. "I don’t know why, but I’ve never felt this way before. I feel attracted to your blood. It’s... overwhelming."

Magnus’s expression softened further at her admission, concern flickering in his eyes.

Tobias, sensing the urgency of the situation, quickly excused himself. "I’ll bring fresh blood for Princess Alora," he said, bowing slightly before hurrying away.

As soon as Tobias was out of sight, Magnus turned his full attention back to Alora. He gently took her hands in his, immediately noticing the unnaturally high temperature of her skin. "You’re burning up," he murmured, his voice laced with worry. "Why are you so hot?"

"I-I don’t know," Alora stammered, her voice trembling. "I’ve never felt this way before. I feel... thirsty. So thirsty." The words seemed to take every ounce of her strength, and she swayed slightly on her feet.

Alora’s breathing became labored, and she instinctively leaned closer to him, her gaze locked on the pulse in his neck. She could hear the steady, rhythmic flow of his blood, amplifying her hunger. Her fangs, no longer under her control, began to elongate, glistening sharply as they emerged.

Magnus felt Alora’s desperate need the moment her fangs pierced his skin. She was like a flame, her body burning with an intensity that made his own skin feel cold in comparison.

He couldn’t let her lose control in the middle of the palace’s corridors, where anyone could witness her in such a vulnerable state. So, with his Vampire instincts kicking in, he moved swiftly, lifting her into his arms and blurring through the halls until they reached the privacy of his chamber.

As soon as they crossed the threshold, Alora buried her face into the crook of his neck, her sharp fangs sinking deeper into his vein, the hunger driving her movements.

Magnus stumbled slightly, catching himself against the doorframe before carefully laying her down on the chaise near the window. He knelt beside her, cradling her trembling body as she drank from him.

He didn’t try to stop her, didn’t even wince at the sharp pain of the bite. Instead, he allowed her to take what she needed, his mind racing with questions.

Why was her blood thirst so intense? What could have triggered such an uncontrollable need? His hand moved instinctively to her head, his fingers threading gently through her silky hair as he began to caress her softly.

"Easy, Alora," he murmured, his voice a soothing whisper. "I’m here. Take what you need."

Her body was almost unbearably hot, the heat radiating off her in waves, searing against his cool skin. It wasn’t normal—no Vampire, no matter how starved, burned like this.

It was as if her blood was on fire, a raging inferno coursing through her veins. His worry deepened, a flicker of fear tightening his chest. Could it be some sort of illness or a rare condition he hadn’t encountered before?

The sight of Tobias entering the room snapped him from his thoughts.

"Your Highness, I’ve brought—" He didn’t get to finish his sentence. Tobias’s eyes widened briefly at the sight of Alora feeding so fervently from the Prince, but he quickly regained his composure, bowing his head respectfully.

Alora, sensing the presence of another, abruptly pulled away from Magnus, her breathing ragged and uneven. Blood coated her lips, her eyes wide and dazed, as if she was waking from a trance. Her gaze locked onto Magnus’s, and for a moment, they simply stared at each other.

Magnus’s eyes softened as he saw the panic and guilt flickering in her expression. His lips curved into a reassuring smile. Gently, he raised his hand, his thumb brushing against her lips, wiping away the crimson stain.

"It’s fine, Alora," he said softly, his voice steady despite the dizziness he felt. "Don’t feel anxious or embarrassed. You needed it, and I’m glad I could help."

She looked at him, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears, her body still trembling. "But I—" Her voice broke, and she pressed her hand over her mouth, ashamed. "I couldn’t stop. I wanted more. I still want more."

Her eyes flicked down to his neck, where the wounds from her bite were still slowly closing, the blood staining his collar. She could smell it, the rich, intoxicating scent that made her mouth water, her fangs ache with the need to sink into his flesh again.

Magnus’s hand slid to the back of her neck, his touch was both firm but gentle, grounding her. "Alora, look at me," he said, waiting until her eyes met his again. "I’m not hurt. You didn’t harm me. I offered my blood freely because I trust you. If you need more, you can have it. I’ll give you as much as you need."

"No, I am fine," Alora refused to drink further from him.

"No more blood?" Magnus asked.

Alora shook her head while lowering her eyes.

"But your body wants it. So, don’t stop," Magnus said. His hands lowered to hers and felt them burning. "Why is your body hot?" he murmured.

"I don’t know. This isn’t me," Alora whispered, her eyes brimming with tears now.

"Hey, don’t cry. I think it is something rare. I’ll find out what it is. Till then, why don’t you rest?" Magnus questioned.

"I feel..." Alora looked into his eyes again, "restless and thirsty. I don’t want to rest, but I don’t want to drink either."

"Your Highness, it must be because of that!" Tobias finally intervened.

"Because of what, Tobias?" Magnus questioned.

"I think Princess Alora is pregnant!" Tobias replied with a broad smile.

Chapter 410: Dreams have come true, Alora

"Really?" Alora’s mood shifted instantly, her smile broadening with delight. The hunger that had gnawed at her moments ago vanished completely, replaced by a surge of pure happiness.

"Yes, Your Highness," Tobias confirmed with a respectful nod. "It may very well explain your current condition. Unlike most vampires, Your Highness rarely feels the thirst for blood. I believe this could be a sign of the changes taking place within your body," he added confidently.

Magnus’s heart raced with excitement, the thrill of becoming a father filling him with an unexpected warmth. "Let’s have Alora examined immediately. Summon the Royal Physician," he ordered.

Tobias hurried off to carry out his command, leaving Magnus to gently guide Alora toward the bedchamber. Once seated on the plush mattress, she began to fidget with her fingers, her mind buzzing with anticipation, uncertainty, and excitement.

The Royal Physician arrived promptly, bowing respectfully to Magnus before beginning his examination. His movements were swift yet precise, ensuring that no detail was overlooked.

"The Queen is on her way," Tobias informed the prince, then quietly exited the chamber. Before leaving, he sent a female servant inside, should Alora require any assistance.

It wasn’t long before Queen Margaret entered, her presence commanding yet graceful. She cast a glance between Magnus and Alora, her expression unreadable but calm. The Royal Physician rose from his seat to greet her. "I will begin the examination shortly, Your Majesty," he said, his tone composed.

Margaret’s gaze softened as it fell on Alora. "You’ll need to change into different attire for the examination," she gently instructed, her eyes shifting to the servant Tobias had sent. "Assist the Princess," she added before turning her attention to Magnus. "Magnus, you should wait outside."

Magnus, however, remained steadfast. "I’ll stay here, Mother. Alora is my wife, and she may need me by her side," he replied in a respectful yet firm tone.

Margaret considered his words before nodding slightly. "Very well. You may stay."

With that, Alora made her way to the dressing chamber, the servant following closely behind to assist her as she prepared for the examination.

After ten minutes, Alora returned dressed in more comfortable attire, her expression calm but curious. The Royal Physician gestured for her to lie down, and once she was settled, he nodded to the servant to roll up her sleeve.

He had prepared a white solution, a unique discovery in the vampiric world that could confirm pregnancy. The method was simple yet precise: a small sample of the female vampire’s blood would be drawn with a needle and introduced into the solution. If the liquid turned dark brown, it was a certain sign of pregnancy.

Unlike humans, the changes within a vampire’s body were rapid, with blood being the first to exhibit visible signs, followed closely by changes in the skin. The physician carefully drew a drop of Alora’s blood, letting it fall into the white solution. All of them then waited for the result.

The room grew still as the white solution began to shift, darkening until it became a deep brown.

"Your Majesty, Your Highness, Princess Alora is indeed pregnant," the Royal Physician announced with a smile.

Alora gasped, her hand flying to her mouth in disbelief. "I’m going to be a mother!" she whispered, quickly sitting up. Her eyes immediately sought Magnus, who was already by her side.

They embraced tightly, overwhelmed with happiness. "We’re going to have a child," she murmured into his chest, tears of joy spilling down her cheeks. Alora’s life had taken a beautiful turn since Magnus had come into it—a life she had only ever dreamed of, now unfolding before her eyes.

Magnus gently cupped her face, wiping away the tears that streaked her cheeks with his thumbs. "Why are you crying?" he asked softly, though he already understood her emotions before she could even speak. "Yes, it’s all real. Your dreams have come true, Alora," he reassured her with a tender smile before placing a soft kiss on her forehead.

"After so many years, such joyous news has finally arrived," Margaret said, her voice warm with emotion as she approached the bed. "Alora, you have given this family everything it lacked," she added, her eyes shining with pride and affection.

Magnus stood up, stepping aside to allow his mother to shower Alora with the tender affection only a mother could give. Margaret gently patted Alora’s head before pulling her into a soft, loving embrace.

"No more tears, my dear," Margaret whispered as she cradled Alora’s face, wiping away the lingering moisture on her cheeks. "From now on, you must take extra care of yourself. Plenty of rest, hearty meals every day, and make sure to nourish both yourself and the little one growing inside you. And yes," she said, glancing at Magnus with a knowing smile, "Magnus will take you for walks. Gentle movement is important for the easy and healthy birth of the child."

She continued, her tone filled with anticipation and excitement. "We’ll inform your parents right away. I’m sure they’ll be overjoyed at the news. And I can’t even begin to express how delighted I am to soon become a grandmother," Margaret smiled warmly, her hand resting gently on Alora’s arm. "You’ve given this family more than we could have ever asked for, and we will be by your side every step of the way, as you prepare to welcome our little one into the world."

Alora, overwhelmed by the love surrounding her, nodded gratefully. She had never imagined her life could be filled with such happiness and support.

Alora’s thoughts drifted back to the moment when Magnus had first told her that if she married him, he would brighten her entire world. She smiled softly, realizing that his words had come true in ways she never imagined.

Magnus, reading her thoughts and sensing her emotions, felt a wave of tenderness wash over him. His heart swelled as he looked at her, knowing how much they had both transformed each other’s lives.

When the Queen and the others finally left the chamber, Magnus seized the moment of privacy with Alora.

Unable to resist the pull of his love for her, he gently took her hands and guided them behind his neck, drawing her closer.

"I love you, Alora," he whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "As much as I’ve brightened your world, you’ve made me feel alive, made me look forward to each and every day," he murmured against her lips before capturing her in a passionate kiss, pouring all of his love and devotion into the embrace.
