Chapter 421: My favorite child
Rex
My hands are shaking as I lie down on the cold ground. I want to go back to the community; I don’t want to be here anymore. This is the hardest thing I have ever had to go through.
I knew it was going to be a challenge but I could have surged through this if I had Blue and Gyles with me. Being alone is the only thing that is making this hard. I want to hold them; I want to know that they are with me. I am resting on my back; the moon is the only view I have.
I have lost track of the days. I don’t know how long it has been.
It feels like forever. I am tired of this; I want it to be over. The only thing I can do is hope and pray for better.
I hear a screech. I don’t know if it is the wind or a bird. I don’t know if anything is real.
I see a light, it’s the moon. I see a figure walking towards me. Slowly, it is getting closer and closer. It is a woman. Her hair is long and jet black, a kind of beauty that I have never seen. She is wearing a dress.
It is white and it flows with the wind. She is like a goddess, like an angel. She is smiling. It is the most amazing smile I have ever seen. I am in awe of the sight in front of me.
"My favorite child,’’ she sings so beautifully that my heart begins to race.
"My Rex,’’ she says as she walks towards me.
"My Rex,’’ she repeats. It is like she is pulling me in with her voice. I am falling into her. "You shine so brightly. You are like the moon; you are like the sun. You are the light. You are the one who shines so brightly. You are the light of my life.’’
She is speaking to me. She is speaking like I am her child and my heart responds to her every word. Just a few words and I feel special, I feel loved by this woman that I don’t even know.
"Who are you?’’ I ask her because I don’t even know if this is just another part of the punishment.
She is the most beautiful woman I have seen and she smells like a rose.
"I am Selene.’’
The minute I hear her name, I know who she is. I have read so many books about her, there have been so many stories told. There was a time I didn’t even believe she was real. She was just something we believed in. Something that made being a werewolf easier.
She has always been our rock.
And she is here now.
I sit up immediately because I want to be strong in front of her.
Her smile widens.
"You are strong. You are the strongest of my children. I raised you. I have seen you grow. I have seen you fight and I have seen you prevail. I am proud of you.’’
I don’t know what to say.
I have never felt this honored before even though I don’t feel the way she sees me. I haven’t done anything in my life. I have always been a coward, the weak omega that had to stick to Beau to survive.
She kneels down in front of me and takes my face in her hands. Her touch is so soft and gentle.
"I am not strong,’’ I tell her because I don’t know what she sees in me.
"Oh, but you are, I have seen your heart and it is bigger than anything. You are here because of your mates even though you didn’t make the mistake that brought you all here. You took the punishment because of the love you have for them."
I feel a tear roll down my cheek.
"You are strong. You have been through so much. You have been the bravest werewolf I have ever known.’’
It is hard for me to believe that. I don’t feel strong. I don’t have words because this is overwhelming. I didn’t know that I needed this validation, it is almost like hearing her say these words to me is comforting.
It is cleansing.
"You are the light of my life. You have shined so brightly that I have seen you even when I wasn’t around you. I have seen the light that you bring to this world and I will never let that light dimmer."
There is a moment of silence. The wind is the only thing that can be heard.
"I have seen you with your mates and it is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen." She raises her other hand up and I see a vial with a blue liquid.
"This will bring your mates back to you. It has been a hard time for you. But it is almost over. I am here with you and I will never leave your side. You are my favorite child and I will always be with you."
She puts the vial to my lips and I drink it. It doesn’t take long before I feel a familiar warmth spreading through my body. I close my eyes and I feel my heart beating again. I feel my body and I am alive.
I open my eyes and I see Blue and Gyles.
I am crying so hard. I can’t believe they are here. I can’t believe they are alive. They are in front of me, they are real, they are alive. I touch my hand to Blue’s face and I feel his warm skin. "We are here,’’ they tell me.

those words are in my head but I know that they are from Selene. In just a short time, she made me feel so special.
Chapter 422: Ready to take on the world
Blue
In the blink of an eye, I am back with the two most important people in my life. I don’t even know how it happened, one minute my eyes were closed and the next minute I was in the cave with them.
"Is this real?’’ Gyles asks his voice shaking as he runs his hands over my face.
"You are real," I say quietly.
"You are real," he repeats
"You are real," I say again. I look at Rex and he is looking at me with the same expression on his face. I don’t know what happened to them but it is safe to say that we all went through the same things.
"What happened?" I ask as I sit down on the rock and Rex sits next to me. He looks at me and he looks like he is about to cry. I think about what I saw when I was in the cave. I remember the images that came to me. I think about almost losing them.
"It was messed up,’’ Gyles says as he runs his hands over his face. "It was like a bad trip; I was in the cave and then I wasn’t.’’
Rex takes my hand in his and he kisses my knuckles. I don’t want to even think about the things that happened because it is over and we are back together. The punishment is pointless because we made it through.
"So, what happens now?’’ Gyles asks.
The cave is no longer a place of punishment. It is a place of celebration. This is our mating ceremony. We are finally together and the future holds nothing but happiness for us. I look at the two men who have changed my life and I smile.
"We are together now," I say and I pull them both to me for a hug.
They are both shaking as they hug me. I know that they can’t believe that we made it through. I can’t believe that we made it through.

"It is a full moon,’’ he raises his hand up and points to the sky with his index finger. My eyes move away from him and I follow his direction.
There is a full moon shining down on us. "This is the time when we can get intimate. Our wolves are supposed to connect,’’ he informs me calmly.
"Do you feel your wolf?’’ I ask both of them because that is the only thing, I have been able to feel. My wolf is inside me, stronger than it has ever been.
"I feel my wolf,’’ Gyles says.
"I feel it too," Rex adds in.
"I feel mine too,’’ I say because I can feel it tugging at my soul. "It wants to protect you and have you." I look at the two men that I love and I know that this is what my wolf wants. "I want to be with you both," I say that because I want to make sure that they know what is happening and that they are okay with it.
"I want to be with you too," Rex says
"I want to be with you too," Gyles adds quietly. The night is quiet, the moon is shining over us. I take a deep breath because my heart is racing against my chest, I am so ready for this intimacy because it has been a long time coming.
The moon is calling to me and I can feel my wolf getting more and more excited. I look at the two men that I love and they look as if they are ready for this. They are ready to have the connection that is meant for us.
I run my hand over Rex’s chest and I can feel his heart racing against my fingers. I look at him and he gives me a gentle smile. I know that he is ready for this. I look at Gyles and see the same expression on his face. I know I am making the right decision.

I watch as his jaw starts to elongate and come together. I feel a hand on my back, I look over my shoulder and Rex is there with me, his hand on my back. I look back at Gyles and his eyes are fully amber, his wolf is close to the surface. I look at him and hold my hand out to him.
I pull him down to me just as my wolf pushes out of me, and a loud howl fills the night.
Suddenly, I lose all the doubt and confusion, I am so ready for this.
Chapter 423: Who takes the lead?
Blue
I pull them both to me and I kiss them both at the same time. Their hands roam over my body, and I can feel the butterflies I always feel from their touch. It is so strong that it is almost as if we are one. I can feel their hearts beating in unison with mine. I can feel the love they have for me in their touch. I can feel my love for them in my kiss. I push Rex onto his back and I can feel Gyles on top of me. I reach for Gyles’s shorts and they are gone in a split second. We are all together, my hands are holding unto Gyles, I don’t want to let go of him. I pull off my shirt and throw it on the ground. Then I pull off my shorts. I feel a pair of hands on my thighs. The hands pull me closer to Rex and I feel myself moving towards him. I can feel Gyles’s touch on my neck and I can feel my need for them both growing stronger. I can feel the love they have for me, and it makes me feel really good. I look into Rex’s eyes and I can see how much he loves me. He loves me so much that I can feel my heart burst. He loves me just like I love him. I kiss deeper this time, wanting to register his taste in my brain.

I don’t know what is happening to me but I am acting out of control. I know this is all because of my wolf, I am making decisions that I didn’t even know I needed to make. My teeth go deeper into his skin and I get a sensation I have never ever felt before in my life. The weird thing about this bite is that it doesn’t feel like the kind of bite that I would do as a vampire, it feels like a different kind of bite. All of a sudden, I feel like my wolf is taking over. I am not even sure if what I am doing is right, but in my eyes it is. I take in his blood, it is delicious, the tastiest blood I have ever had. I feel the blood as it travels through my veins, the heat of the blood is so intense, it feels like I am on fire. I can feel my wolf, growling for more. My hands are still on him, my grip is strong and desperate. I don’t want this moment to end. All of a sudden, I feel a warmth in my body. I feel as if I am on fire, but I am not afraid. I like this feeling; I like the idea of being on fire. I feel the warmth travel throughout my body, I feel it travel down my leg and I feel it travel to my groin. I am so distracted by this strange feeling that I don’t realize what is happening to me.
