Ch. 1..5: The Wife I Never Met chapter 1-5
Chapter 1
Girl we understand you are mourning your relationship with Dex but its been two weeks already, you need to pick yourself up and ride the next available horse” ” yeah girl Lisa is right this dude does not deserve your tears”
It’s been two weeks yet it feels like yesterday when Ciara received a text message from Dexter canceling their engagement, yes only two weeks before their wedding day. While listening to her friends consoling her she recalled what the message said {this is not working anymore, i think we’ve made a mistake let’s breakup}.
Then She said ” This sucks I mean who the hell breaks up with someone without giving them an explanation, Dex is such a scum, i wish not to see him ever again” she uttered these words with tear running through her porcelain like smooth chicks.
Lisa then stood up while picking up all the wet crushed kleenex tissues ciara used to wipe her tears, ” ok girls its time for mission cheer Ciara up, lets get you cleaned up, we are going to have fun tonight until you forget that scum Dex”
Stacy also chimed in ” yeah CiCi your favorite Dj will be playing at crowded house, how about we go there tonight”
“No I just want to watch my sad movies with my delicious snacks and cry my lungs out till i pass out” Ciara looked at her 2 best friends before covering herself with a blanket while stuffing herself with her favorite vanilla ice-cream.
“No you’ve been doing that for the past two weeks its enough, I will bathe you myself if you dont go in 3 seconds “
An hour later the 3 girls were all dolled up and ready to go. Just when Ciara was about to get pisssed, the cab finally arrived after 30 minutes of waiting. They hopped in with both Stacy and Lisa still in high spirits as if they can smell all the cocktails they were going to down once they reach Crowded house.
When they arrived at the Club they were all happy as there was no line outside, so they entered and headed straight to the bar area, they ordered their favorite cocktails and 12 shots of liquor to get their night started. They downed their shots with cheers and laughter, enjoying this blissful moment they were having.
After some time the place started getting crowded, all kinds of people coming in, some to enjoy themselves and others to distress, well in Ciara’s case to forget. While still chit-chating with her friends Ciara noticed three gentlemen walking in and locked eyes with one of them, but the guy soon averted his gaze as he walked into their private booth.
Stacey looked at the two people locking gaze at each other ” friend don’t even think about it, that is Liam Jones from the Jones’ family one of the prominent families in our county. Girls like us can only admire from afar.” ” well Stacey is right plus he is aloof and does not talk with just anyone, but who said you can not shoot your shot, I mean tonight is all about you hey”.
Ciara laughed at her friends while shaking her head disapprovingly ” you guys are sick, who on earth said i want to be with him plus this little heart right here is still broken, i dare not toy with it again” she said those words while standing upfrom their booth area heading towards the bar “I am going to order a few drinks stay put” she threw a glance at the VIP booth where Liam was seated before heading toward the bar area, where she got some drinks for her friends. On her way back to her booth she saw her ex fiance with a girl on the dance floors, and they sure did look like they were having some
fun, which completely ruined her night.
When she reach her booth she told her friends that she will be heading out for some fresh air, as she had just seen the scum, and assured them that she will be fine. Hence she went to the smoking area and sat there think about how miserable her life was while her fiance was having the time of his life with his new lover as if nothing happened, and the following day was not supposed to be their wedding day.
“aheem”
While still deep in her thoughts she heard someone clearing his throat.
“Do you like what you see sweat heart “
She looked at him with a puzzled look not having a clue what the guy infront of her was talking about.
“you have been looking at me ever since I came in this club and you even followed me here, what’s up?”
That was when Ciara came to realize that she has been looking at Liam like he was an animal from the zoo. ” Sorry I paint and in you I found my inspiration for my next project, and for your info I did not follow you here but i saw something or let me say someone i should not have seen a moment ago hence i came here to clear my head”.
She then carried on, ” in fact i should be asking you the same question seeing that i did not notice you when i got here, could it be that you are following me instead?”
“In your dreams sweet heart, im also here to clear my head” Liam said this while pulling a drag on the the cigarette in between his fair slender fingers. Watching him release the smoke, allowing herself to be mesmerized by his actions she then asked him without thinking about it ” hey do you mind dancing with me, just one song”
“Just one song”
And so that is how they started their dance from just one song to them dancing to all 5 romantic songs that followed, thats when Liam noticed a guy on the dance floor dancing with his partner but with his eyes locked at Ciara and himself with jealousy written all over his face. He then whispered to her ear. ” is that the person you saw sweetheart?”
“Yeah, he is my ex, we were supposed to get married tomorrow, i am glad that we did not go through with it. They look good together”
“So what are you planning to do? “
“well” she looked at her beautiful manicured toes before locking gaze with Liam and continued ” I have no idea, but i plan to forget him that’s why I am here to forget and start afresh, what do you think?” I sure can help you with that, come with me” she then followed him to his VIP booth were they drank till they were waisted, it was now midnight and Liam had a very wild idea which he shared with Ciara. “It so happens that my family have been nagging me, they want me to get married as soon as possible, and today was supposed to be your wedding day, dont you think we are fated to be together sweetheart heart”.So they secretly exited the club and went into a twenty four hour wedding chapel were they exchanged their vows and officially got married, that was exactly four hours from when they met, they then went to his ocean view villa as a newly wedded couple. The moment they entered the house they started kissing and undressing each other with clothes flying in the air all the way to the master bedroom, yes it was indeed their wedding night. Soft soothing music playing in the back ground, with them moving rhythmically as if dancing to the beautiful music playing. Their bodies intertwined and merged as one, this went on till all their energy was drained. They immediately fell asleep after that.
Chapter 2
Soon the sun started to rise with its rays penetrating the windows washing over her face, it was as if her face was golden with glow. She then opened her eyes and instinctively looked down her body only to find that she was naked, her head throbbed with pain from all the alcohol she had drank at the club the previous night. Her body ached excruciatingly, especially her lower abdomen, she then turn over to find patches of b***d on the sheets, which proved her suspensions. She then glanced across the room but no was there besides her.
“How much alcohol did i drink last night”
She said this while picking up her clothes and putting them on, she then dashed to the bathroom to wash her face, she then looked at herself in the mirror mockingly and that is when she saw a ring on her finger. Snippets of what had transpired the previous night came back flooding. Yes she was now a gone girl!!
“what the….. Heck right now is not the time to stress myself about these” she then walked out fortunately for her there was a cab which just dropped off someone inthe neighborhood, so she hailed it and drove to her apartment inthe city. When she reached the door, she took out her keys and unlocked the door. She then walked in only to find Lisa and Stacey inside.
“hey what are you doing here, how did you guys even manage to get in”
Lisa took out her spare keys and swing them in Ciara’s face. ” duuuh you gave these to me, remember?”
She just rolled her eyes at them while dragging her tired body toward the bathroom to take her highly needed shower, but before she could even open the door she heard Stacey’s voice.
” Hey will you not fill us up with what happened last night, how you enjoyed yourself with Mr Liaaaam. We saw that you even left with him.”
“Ow my God Ciara!!! You finally gave it up, welcome to womanhood hahaha”
She just looked at these two crazy friends of hers and said ” fine fine I will fill you in, but first, i desperately need a shower, oglh god and food”.
With that she went straight to the bathroom had a thirty minute long shower, feeling refreshed she walk back to the kitchen where she made her breakfast and sat down to eat.
” Please don’t tell me he could not even feed you, look at how you are stuffing yourself, it is like you have not had food in the past century”
“Its not like that, he just was not there when i woke up plus the only thing that was on my mind was to leave as soon as possible”.
“I am pretty sure he had a valid reason for that, probably something came up at company, a man like him should be always busy.”
Lisa looked at the two friends conversing then shifted her gaze to Ciara’s ring finger then her face again ” owh my God CiCi so you did sleep with him, look at the glow, oh my look at that finger of yours, please tell that you are now a gone girl. “
Ciara’s face blushed beet red from all the embarrassment from her friend,. ” well firstly we did do the deed, as for other things I am way too stress to even think about it. I am leaving the country in two days”.
On the other side of town in an ocean view villa with pine trees surrounding the villa, Liam had returned from the breakfast restaurant that he went to, he turned off the en
gine and took out the 2 boxes with their food and 2 cups of expresso with him. He then walked in to the house, which was still quite with no signs of any person living in there. He thought to himself that his new wife might be lazy or very much exhausted from all the playing they did through out the night.
He then put the food on the kitchen counter, then walked upstairs towards his bedroom. The house in normally quiet as th latter did not have much people working for him. He prefers silence. When he reached the master bedroom he cocked up his eyebrow as he found the room to be empty.
“Where could this woman have gone” this is what he had in mind as he walked to the bathroom, in and out of the spare bedrooms looking for his new wife. Sadly he could not find her anywhere. He massaged his temples as his head started to throb when he realized that he did not have his wife’s contact number.
He then walked back to the kitchen took his breakfast to the area and ate in silence. When he was done he then walked out to find his assistant already waiting for him in the car. He instructed his assistant to do a background check on Ciara and also find her where abouts as well as her digits. With that out of the way, they headed straight to the company.
As soon as he entered his private elevator there was an uproar in the lobby, it was as if it was the first seeing him. Well to be honest to most of the the employees seeing the big boss was like Christmas, something that does not come by that often. So when the ladies saw Liam it will be an understatement to say that they were all drooling over him. All their jaws dropped.
” owh my god the president is dashing hot”
“is he single? Well i do not care, who would not mind sinking in that ship even if it was for just one night”
“dear don’t even think about it, many have tried going that route but instead they were all taught a terrible lesson, some were even fired on the spot”
“owh well I guess I will just look from the sidea.”
Of course Liam did not hear all these comments about him, as he walk out of the elevator on the 35th floor right in to his spacious office, his eyes then fell on to he pile of documents that needed to be signed on his work desk. He let out a long sigh, sitting his but down and getting on the task at hand.
He worked through the documents and would sometimes space out thinking about the person whom he had spent the entire night with, the person whom he he had made the biggest decision with despite the fact that they were merely just strangers at that time.
He found himself smiling when he thought about how well in sync there were through out their play last night. The woman was obedient and timid in a way during their session, which was way different to how she was behaving at Crowded a few hours before. He liked it anyway, he needed to find her and teach her a lesson, at that moment he was thinking of all kind of ways he will use to punish her. “I bet she’ll be begging for mercy”
He then realized that he had spaced out for some as he was now staring at the space before him. With that he shook his head before he continued with his work, he busied himself until the sky turned dark.
Chapter 3
The next morning when Liam arrived at the office the first thing he did, was to check his e-mails and then went straight to the pile of documents he needed to work on, while he was still engrossed in his work, he heard a knock on the door, Larry the assistant walked in after he was granted permission to do so. He then briefed him on the important company matters and once he was done, just when he was about to stand up and leave he remembered something very important, something that he was tasked with. He then reported.
“sir I have done the back ground check on the missus, her full name is Ciara Williams. She is the daughter of Hillary and Mark Williams from Williams family that owns Epic Estates, focusing in real estate, property development and construction. Unfortunately she had a fall out with her family when they wanted her to join the family business but she refused.
She chose her passion instead as an artist, she went to an art college, and now paints and writes novels and also does screen writing, she is quite good at it. “
“Got it thanks, what has she been up to these past few days?”
“we were able to track down her where abouts and found nothing suspicious, she has been locking herself up in her apartment in the city, sir”
“ok, if there is nothing else, you may go back to work.”
“yes sir” with that he stood up and was ready to leave the office, as he was about to turn the door knob, he stood frozen, turned his head toward Liam and said ” Mr Jones sir, miss Williams is going abroad tomorrow she will be joining the crew which is shooting a movie for one of her scripts, not sure when she will return as there is no record for her return ticket.”
Liam furrowed his eyebrows and then rubbed his forehead before saying.” get her to meet me, bring her to me. “
” Yes sir” with that said he left, closing the door behind.
Today was a lazy day for Ciara, although she woke up refreshed from all the sleep she had the previous night, she still decided to take a break from work and lazy around, as work will be hectic in the next few days, especially with filming going on. After having her breakfast she switched on the tv and watched some reality tv, not forgetting her snacks and candy. It was not until 1pm that she decided to freshen up getting ready to go the mall, she needed some essentials and some few travel size cosmetics.
As soon as she stepped out of her complex entrance she spotted a black s-class Mercedes not far from where she was standing, she decided not to pay attention to it, but just when she was about to walk pass it, suddenly the driver’s door opened and a man in a business suite alighted and walk straight towards her. She was not sure what was happening so she decided to ignore him, she thought he was probably going to go pass her, but to her surprise the man greeted her courteously.
“Mrs Jones, Mr Jones would like to see you” he said that while opening the door signaling that she should enter the car. She started to panick, small beads of cold sweat starting to form on her back. Reality striked. “yes I am indeed someone’s wife, why did I run away. But I did not think that he was serious considering that he was drunk. Yes, thats it, he probably wants to annul this marriage. Fine I will go and get this over and done with. But first I need to go to the mall.”
Of course she did not say all of this to Larry, she was thinking it to herself. She then looked at the assistant and said. That is fine I will come and meet him, but I have some pressing matters at the mom
ent, so I will leave first.”
” I am afraid you will have to do that some other time, Mr Jones instructed me to come with you Ma’am otherwise I will loose my job.”
She rolled her eyes while gritting her teeth from all the anger, she could not believe how Liam could be so unreasonable. She was not a child that he can just summon when ever he wanted. Even so she swallowed her anger as there was not much she could do with the situation. So she got in the car and sat her a*s down.
Larry also got in to his drivers seat, started the car and stepped on the accelerator driving towards where they were going to meet Liam. Ciara initially thought that they were going to Liam’s company but to her surprise the car parked in from of a very high end five star hotel. She then followed Larry as he led her to the private room dining area. He knocked once signaling that someone was about to go in, with out waiting for Liam to call them in, Larry had already opened the door and led Ciara in then he turned around and left.
She only took two steps in and stood there as she ogled his face, admiring all facial features, his sexy small eyes, pink smooth lips along with his sharp nose. He was indeed handsome, mean while Liam was seated on the chair near the dining table with his legs crossed, he had a cold indiferrent expression as if he did not care about anything. His black tailored suit crisp and clean without single wrinkle. He then cleared his throat.
“aheem”
That did the trick as it brought the lady back to reality, but was also startled by the sudden sound.
“You asked to see me? “
Liam did not answer her, but stood up and fixed his suite and went traight to where she was standing. Not sure what was happening and what Liam was about to do to her, she tightened her fist as a reflux as she started to panick.
“We meet again sweat heat” after that he attacked her lips furiously and would sometime bit her lips softly and then attack again. She stood there frozen, a minute had passed when she got back to her senses and then pushed him with all her might.
She was livid “what the f**k is wrong with you Liam?” She shouted at him while fixing her clothes, she just did not understand why he would k**s her in that manner, which she found completely humiliating to her.
He released a half smile. “you… You are what is wrong with me sweatheart.” she looked at him confused not sure what he meant “what do you mean, you just vanished as if nothing happened between us that night, do you know how stupid I felt? ” tears were now rolling down like a river with no intention of stopping. ” you are the one who left sweetheart, you broke my heart, do you know that?”
” I only went out to buy breakfast for my wife only to find the house empty, you make me angry sweetheart. What about now were you going to leave the country without telling me, not even a goodbye. How heartless can you be.”
With a low voice, trying very hard not to look at him” I am sorry ” then as if she realized something she abruptly raised her head up in awe, looking straight at his eyes.
“Wait, what do you mean, do you not regret it at all?”
“regret what? Marrying you? Not at all, I would like to make it work. What about you, do regret it?” with that question fired back at her, she looked at as if she was contemplating. Hearing no response from her Liam’s body tensed up as if scared of the possible answer. He then kissed her passionately, just when she was about to loose herself in the k**s, he suddenly stopped and looked at her expectedly.
Chapter 4
She then lifted up her head to look at him with a faint smile she nodded. “well…. I would love to give it a try, I am as invested in this as you are, I will not request for devorce unless you asked for it first or cheat. How about that?” the man infront of her nodded in agreement as the smile on his face broadened. He then leaned in and gave her a gentle k**s.
” But I have one request though “
With one eyebrow up he looked at her with interest, wondering what this woman in front of him had in mind.
“And that would be? “
“I would like us to take things slow and also not publicize this” and then she added “for now,.. I really want us to get to know each other first and build a strong relationship before allowing others in. What do you think?”
Liam readily agreed to her request, as he also felt that she made sense. ” yeah I do not mind that.” He then led her to the dining table, summoned the waiter. One professional looking lady came in with the menus ready to take their order. Being a gentleman that he was Liam passed the menu to Ciara for her to order first. She browsed through the menu, picked out a few dishes and not forgetting her favorite pickled fish, then she handed back the menu to Liam of which he added just a few sides with drinks of course.
Not long after that, three waiter came in with all sorts of delicious food that they have ordered, placed it on the table, and quietly left the room. Liam broke the silence and spoke.
“so how long will you be away?”
“I am not really sure of the days that I will have to spend there but it should not be more that 3 weeks and if everything goes as planned I will be back in just 2 weeks, why, will you miss me?” she said the last part coquettishly, not daring to look at him as she was not sure how he will respond. She took a piece of the braised pork ribs and buried her head in her food.
Liam smiled liking how playful his wife was.” I am pretty sure I will, which is why I will be accompanying you till you take of, I want to spend every minute with you”. Noticing the beet red color on her face, he knew that his wife was shy but still continued to tease her, not forgetting to put more food on her plate. After their meal both Liam and Ciara went to her apartment to pack up most of her clothes, some she will need as she will be traveling and some she was moving to his place as they both agreed to commit to their marriage.
Once done loading all the luggage in the car, she instructed Liam to wait for her in the car. After that she walked around the apartment which was what she only knew as home, taking in all the memories she had made with her friends. She was now moving out of the house that she purchased with her hard earned money, her biggest achievement. But then she had already made a choice. She then walked towards the door, took a deep breath, one last glance at the house and then left not forgetting to lock the door behind her. Now its the beginning of a new chapter of life, a new start. That is exactly what she thought.
She then walked down stairs to the car parked near the entrance of the complex.
Noticing the mood she was in the man gave her a warm long hug, just to assure her that he is there and wil
l forever be by her side. They then drove out of the complex heading towards a gated community by the sea, away from bussing sound of the city.
They then drove in the community, the security guards quickly opened the gate for them as they are familiar with the car. They then headed to the best suited villa in the community with the best view. Liam then parked the car in the driveway and they both alighted from the car, not forgetting to bring the luggage with them.
The villa was huge with all the elegant expensive furnishings. It was indeed alot to take in one day. Last time she was here she was drunk and it was late at night so she could not really get a clear picture of the house, so now as the missus she gave herself a tour, when she was done with her tour she noticed that Liam had already taken his shower so she decided that she too needed one.
They later chilled on the couch updating each with what they do work wise, as well as their personal matters. Conversation flowed naturally as if they had known each other for ages, no awkwardness what so ever. Just when Ciara was about to fill him in about her family problems, a loud grumble was heard coming from her stomach, which reminded them that they had not had their dinner.
She then Stood up ready to make instant noodles as she was quite sure that Liam the kind of guy who knew nothing about the kitchen and would not bother with buying groceries, as he would probably have a chef who prepares and deliver freshly made food every day. But to her surprise the fridge was fully stocked.
Feeling embarrassed to cook noodles when the pantry and fridge are fully stocked, she decided to prepare a proper dinner for her husband, just to make a good impression. She then took out a few ingredients. She made a chicken soup, honey glazed wings, and some dumplings, and a few sides.
While busy in the kitchen with the aroma filling the enter hall, Liam was seated in the couch in his lounge wear pretending to be busy on his laptop, but in reality he was looking at the small woman going up and down the kitchen preparing their meal, a warm feeling filled heart. He had made the best decision to bring her back. This was now not just a house, where he lived a bachelor life in but it was now a home. Someone else shared this home with him.
Soon Ciara was done cooking, she then layed the table and brought all the food she made to the table. With a big smile on her face she said “please dig in”
Smiling back at her Liam started putting some dishes on his plate, and took a bite. Amazed with how delicious the food was he nodded enthusiastically in approval, showing that he did in fact enjoy the food.
“your cooking skills are top notch I’m afraid to cook for you in the future, as mine are just standard”
” well I taught myself how to cooking with a hope that one day I will be able to cook for my husband, so consider yourself lucky as you are the first male to taste my cooking.”
“hahaha yeah I am indeed lucky, I will treasure you forever. Hey and remember I am the only man to taste your food, your are not allowed to cook for any other men apart from me.”
“relax I will listen to you, besides I am very lazy so I hardly ever cook.”
Chapter 5
The following day Ciara woke up to an empty house, she washed up, then went to the kitchen and found that there was a variety of breakfast dishes already prepared on the dining table for her. She ate her meal then cleaned up the table. She took her bag and headed to the mall, yesterday she couldn’t buy her necessities as she was stopped before she could even leave her apartment.
After shopping for a few items she rushed back home, to get her luggage. Liam was already waiting for her at the door when she came down.
He then took the bag and put in the car.
“I thought you were not coming anymore” said Ciara as she followed behind him towards the car.
“well i had an emergency to attend to, but I am here now am i not” those words were accompanied with a smirk.
“mhmm” In Ciara’s eyes men can never be trusted, after what she’s been through, she had decided to leave some space for disappointment. Although she had agreed to the wedding she still felt that Liam might still leave her, the same way Dex did. So she went in to the car, and they drove in silence as they headed towards the airport. When she was about to enter the gate Liam did not for get to remind her to take care of herself.
“dont forget to call me when you get there, make sure that you are safe at all times, amd don’t miss me too much” he then kissed her on the forehead.
They then hugged for a little while and then she went in.
After four hours the plane landed at their destination, she collected her bag and since they had arranged someone to fetch her, she walked towards the lady who was holding a board with her name.
“Ms Williams, my name is Cindy and I will be your driver for the time being”
Ciara acknowledged with a smile, then followed her to car. They then drove to the hotel rented for the crew, she checked in and went in to her room, then sent a message to Liam. Just when she was preparing to take a nap, there was a knock on the door, when she opened one of the directors she was working with was at the door.
“Director Sammie “
He smiled at her politely, then informed her that they will be meeting at noon to introduce her to the rest of the crew. After that she went back to take her well deserved nap. 3 hours had passed when she woke up, she then took a shower, after
freshening up she called Director Sammie to get the location of the filming site.
Only after getting the location did she leave her room. After the nap and shower she was feeling refreshed and somehow in a good mood.
Unfortunately for her that didn’t last long, as she heard the most annoying voice ever.
” Hey Ciara, over here, ahg don’t act like you did not see me, I didn’t that you also visit places like these”.
Yep that was her most annoying cousin Boity, who competed with her in everything.
She managed to force a smile and responded “Hey you, well I didn’t see you. Im only here for work.”
” I see, well I’m here with my boyfriend, maybe you know know him he’s a boss of one of the entertainment companies in our city”
” good to know, while I’d like to stay and chit-chat, i really need to get going, I have an important meeting to get to, bye.”
“Are you also going to the filming site, in the outskirts? “
“yeah”
“well my boyfriend is also going there, let’s go together, he’ll be out any moment now” Boity said this while dragging Ciara towards the car, not forgetting to brag about how awesome and capable her boyfriend is.
“Hahaha Oh Ciara don’t you know, he’s not a celebrity but a president of the company” as if she did not say this at the beginning. While Boity was still bragging avout her boyfriend, suddenly the door on the driver’s side was opened and a male got in.
With a huge grin, Boity looked at Ciara and said. ” speak of the devil, Cousin meet my boyfriend, he’s the one I’ve been talking about.” With that Ciara raised her head to greet the man, immediately when their eyes met, she was so shocked and angry that she even started grinding her teeth without realizing. This was the man that disappointed her, the one she was supposed to marrying a few day ago. How evil can he be, out of every women in Pond City he had to choose her cousin. But why.?
Noticing her reaction Boity let out an evil smile, a smile of victory. ” Hey Ciara don’t be rude, why not greet my boyfriend” that’s when the angry Ciara noticed that she had spaced out. And it was too late for her to get out of the car as it was already in motion. She gritted her teeth and said “Dexter”
Dexter looked at her through the rear view mirror and greeted her “Ciara”.
