To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 251-Let Her Go Jenny was put into a difficult situation by Jade’s invitation. If she hadn’t agreed to Alec, she wouldn’t hesitate. Alas, she couldn’t do that anymore.

Sensing her hesitation, Jade narrowed her eyes at her suspiciously. “Hm? Do you have an appointment this afternoon?” “It’s not an appointment. I’m just going to visit the fashion exhibition,” Jenny replied, not daring to look. Jade in the eye.

“Perfect! I’ll go with you to see what the popular designs are.” Jade looked at Jenny intently as if she had seen through her.

Jenny wanted to slap herself for admitting she was visiting the fashion exhibition.

She should’ve just lied and said she was going home to sleep.

Her perplexed look made Jade laugh. “Forget it, I’ll go by myself. I don’t want to disturb your date.” “My date?” Jenny was shocked. “It’s not a date. What are you talking about, Jade?” “No? Didn’t Alec drive you here just now? Aren’t you planning to go to the exhibition with him?” Jade asked, leaving Jenny no room to refute.

With an awkward smile, Jenny bit the bullet and explained, “We’re just going to the event together. It’s not a date.” “Oh, sure, sure. Whatever you say.” She didn’t bother to argue with Jenny as she had already decided that Jenny was going on a date. Nonetheless, she admired Alec. The last time she met him, Jenny was still cold and indifferent toward him.

Although it hadn’t been long since then, he managed to persuade Jenny.

After talking to Jade, Jenny left the office and headed downstairs. When she was walking toward Alec, who was waiting for her not far away, a car suddenly stopped in front of her.

“Gilbert?” Jenny was a little surprised to see him.

Gilbert got out of the car, his expression ugly. “I called you. Why didn’t you answer?” “Ah? Did you call me?” Confused, Jenny took out her phone to check. Sure enough, there was a missed call from Gilbert. She had been focused on sketching her designs and her phone was on silent, so she missed the call.

“I’m sorry. I was sketching my designs, so I didn’t hear the phone ring.” She apologized, very embarrassed.

Gilbert’s expression didn’t improve; her apology only made him feel worse.

“Jenny, when did so distant from me?” you become All it took was one night for them to turn into strangers.

“No, you’re overthinking things,” Jenny said, smiling wryly. She couldn’t meet Gilbert’s eyes, Gilbert didn’t give up. He grabbed her wrist, asking, “Jenny, do you not want me as your brother anymore?” Jenny bit her lip, not knowing how to answer. Of course she wanted him as her brother. However, she couldn’t pretend that nothing had happened.

“You’re hurting me.” She tried to free herself but failed. The truth was, she could break free, but that would mean she would need to fight Gilbert. If that happened, it would be the end of their relationship.

“Let her go.” As soon as Alec’s voice sounded, he appeared in front of Jenny in the blink of an eye. He pushed her behind him and fixed his eyes on Gilbert.

Taking in the scene, Gilbert’s heart throbbed in pain. “Jenny is my sister! I’m talking to my sister. You don’t tell me what to do!” If it weren’t for her, he would have told Alec to fuck off.

To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 252-You Are Really Protective of Her There was no way Alec would retreat simply because of his words. Instead, he forcefully broke Gilbert’s grip, setting Jenny free. Glaring at him coldly, Alec said, “Since she’s your sister, you shouldn’t hurt her.” “I’m not-” “If there’s nothing else, I’ll excuse myself, Gilbert,” Jenny said. She felt tired.

Although she wasn’t angry at Gilbert, she didn’t know how to face him. With that, Alec led Jenny away.

Gilbert stood as still as a statue, even when the car pulled out of sight.

“I told you a long time ago that Jenny wouldn’t accept it,” Jade said with a sigh, suddenly appearing beside him. She was the first to know that Gilbert liked Jenny, having discovered it when she was in Orchid Village. She had told him a few times to let go of his feelings, but he never listened. Now, look at how things turned out.

Gilbert turned to look at Jade. “Why can’t she accept me? We aren’t related by blood, and I am not worse than Alec.” He didn’t understand. Was it because they were siblings? They weren’t even biological siblings.

“Perhaps, in your opinion, you’re not real brothers and sisters since you’re not blood-related. However, to Jenny, you are real brothers and sisters. It doesn’t matter whether you’re related by blood or not,” Jade explained, urging Gilbert to give up.

Gilbert understood everything she said. Alas, he was not willing to give up. He stared in the direction Jenny and Alec left, refusing to come to his senses.

Jade sighed at the sight. She had said everything she could. It was up to Gilbert to figure things out.

In Alec’s car, Jenny’s good mood was ruined by Gilbert’s appearance. She was silent from the moment she entered the car.

“What would you like for dinner? After the exhibition, let’s go shopping.” Alec tried to divert Jenny’s attention as he did not want her to dwell in sadness.

Jenny knew his intentions. Although her mood was not particularly good, she forced herself to smile, saying, “I’m okay with anything. You decide.” Alec nodded and said, “Let’s not think about unhappy matters. Things will improve for the better on their own.” Surprised, Jenny glanced at him. “I didn’t know you knew how to comfort people.” “Well, it depends on who it is. If it’s someone else, I won’t bother.” Alec was not so kind to everyone.

Jenny didn’t believe him. After all, he had treated Faye very well. At the thought of Faye, Jenny asked, Where did you send Faye?” Alec, who was driving, almost steered them into an accident. Looking at her in disbelief, he asked, “Don’t tell me you want to take revenge on her.” “Am I not allowed to do that?” Jenny retorted, her eyebrows raised. Jenny was a person who held grudges. With a wry smile, Alec answered, “I didn’t say that. It’s just…since she won’t ever appear in front of you again, I hope you will let bygones be bygones.” “You’re really protective of her.” For some reason, it made Jenny feel uncomfortable.

“You have misunderstood my relationship with her. Let me explain it to you.” So, Alec told her how Faye’s brother had saved him and how he had asked Alec to take care of Faye before his death. He made sure to explain things to Jenny clearly so that she wouldn’t misunderstand.

To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 253-’m Afraid You’ll Misunderstand When Alec was done explaining, Jenny asked nonchalantly, “I just asked where she was. Why are you telling me so much?” “I’m afraid you’ll misunderstand,” Alec admitted with a wry smile.

Never had Jenny imagined that there was a timid side to the dignified Mr. Faust.

“Well, it’s not like we have anything to do with each other, so there’s no need to explain to me,” she replied.

Before Alec could say otherwise, they arrived at their destination, so he had no chance to speak his mind.

“We’re here.” They got out of the car and headed to the exhibition together. Jenny had rejected the idea of going to the movies with Alec to avoid being misunderstood by others.

However, as they walked into the venue, many people looked at them. From the looks on their faces, they recognized Alec. Jenny regretted her decision. She wished she had worn a mask. 1 “Mr. Faust.” Soon, someone came up to say hello to him, seeming rather curious about Jenny. “Is this…. your girlfriend?” “No, not yet.” Alec’s answer intrigued their curiosity as it alluded that she might become his girlfriend in the future. As a result, they began to look at her in a different light.

Glaring at him angrily, Jenny announced, “I’ll go over there to have a look first.

You guys carry on.” Without waiting for Alec to reply, she marched to a nearby exhibit and began studying the work. After visiting several exhibits, nothing caught her eye. She had come hoping she could scout talented designers as her company didn’t have any.

It appeared that she had been too hopeful.

“How is it? See anything you like?” Alec asked, suddenly appearing beside her.

Turning around, Jenny was surprised to see that he had a mask on.

“You-” “No one will recognize me like this. It was hard enough for me to bring you out, so I don’t want to be disturbed.” The man who had approached him to say hello had greatly annoyed him.

Although hearing that brought her a warm, fuzzy feeling, it could not tame her sharp tongue. “Well, it’s your fault for being the famous Mr. Faust. Everywhere you go, someone will know you.” “I already admitted that I was wrong. Can you stop making fun of me?” Alec grumbled, thinking that Jenny was really ruthless to him.

Jenny smiled silently and continued to look at the displays. Alec followed behind her quietly, buying everything Jenny liked without hesitation. In his opinion, the one thing he didn’t lack was money. Just like that, they spent the entire afternoon together.

When they left the venue, it was already dark outside. As Alec opened the car door, he asked Jenny, “Shall we go grocery shopping?” “Okay.” Jenny nodded before she changed her mind. “Actually, since it’s already so late, let me treat you to dinner.” Considering how Alec had spent the entire afternoon walking around the exhibition with her, he must have been exhausted. It would be burdensome for him to go grocery shopping and cook after returning home.

“Don’t worry, it’s fine. Let’s eat at home. That’ll be healthier,” he insisted, already inside the car. Healthier?

Given Alec’s lack of work-life balance, Jenny doubted he had any consideration for his own health.

Nonetheless, she decided he could tire himself out since that was what he wanted. With that, she got into the car, and Alec drove to the nearest supermarket.

To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 254-Coincidence In the lobby of Perry Residence, Zack glared at Gilbert, who refused to budge an inch. “You really won’t go upstairs?” Zack asked. “We’re already here. Let’s just go up to see Jenny, okay?” “She doesn’t want to see me.” Gilbert didn’t tell Zack that he had visited Jenny earlier and how differently she behaved around him.

*And you won’t go to her just because of that?” Exasperated, Zack dragged him into the building. As he tugged on Gilbert’s arm, he continued to say, “Hey, you were wrong. How can Jenny forgive you if you don’t make the first move? Let me give you some advice. Tell Jenny sincerely that you don’t like her anymore, and promise to see her as your younger sister. If you do that, everything will be fine, won’t it?” Since the three of them grew up together, Zack hated to see how strained their relationship was. Hence, he tried his best to persuade Gilbert to give up his feelings for Jenny. He also brought him to find Jenny, hoping they could resolve their misgivings.

Gilbert remained silent. He didn’t want to, nor could he give up his feelings for Jenny. Could a person really stop liking someone at will? He had had feelings for her for decades. Asking him to get rid of his feelings was impossible for him.

Despite Gilbert’s reluctance, Zack dragged him to Jenny’s door. “Hey, did you hear what I just said?” Gilbert nodded perfunctorily. However, he didn’t intend to say anything to Jenny.

After ringing the doorbell, the door was soon opened. At the sight of Zack, Jenny asked delightedly. Zack? Why did you come here unannounced?” “Must I make an appointment to visit you? Are you afraid I’ll find out you’re hiding a man at home?” Laughing, Zack pulled Gilbert to the door into Jenny’s line of sight. Instantly, Jenny’s grin disappeared.

“Gilbert,” she greeted him.

Gilbert nodded at her, pretending he couldn’t sense the change in her behavior toward him. Alas, there was nothing he could do about it.

“Let’s talk about it inside,” Zack announced. With that, he dragged Gilbert into Jenny’s house. Since they were already there, they had to set matters straight before they left.

The moment they stepped into the living room, Alec exited the kitchen with food in his hands. The three men stared at each other awkwardly.

Zack was the first to react. He asked in mock anger, “So, you were hiding a man in your house?” “It’s just a coincidence,” Jenny answered with a helpless smile.

“Hmph, I’d be a fool if I believed that.” Zack, however, didn’t harbor any resentment toward Alec. After all, he had received Alec’s help before, and Alec had rescued Jenny several times later. Hence, his impression of him had changed.

He turned to observe his brother, only to find him simmering with hostility.

Suddenly, Zack thought it would be good if Jenny and Alec ended up together. At least, it might encourage Gilbert to give up.

During the two years of Jenny’s marriage, the siblings had dwelled peacefully with each other. If Jenny and Alec hadn’t divorced, they wouldn’t be in their current predicament.

“Zack, what do you want to eat? I’ll prepare more food, and we can have a drink together later,” Alec suggested. He was supposed to be Jenny’s acquaintance, yet he behaved like he was the man of the house.

Although Zack had already accepted Alec, he was still not used to him calling him by his first name. “I’m fine with anything. Don’t put yourself through too much trouble.” “Alright, why don’t you guys take a seat first? The food will be ready soon.” With that, Alec returned to the kitchen, resuming his cooking

To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 255-She Can’t Seeing Alec alone in the kitchen, Jenny felt a little sorry. “Please take a seat while I help him out in the kitchen,” she told her brothers “Go, go” Zack waved her away. “We’re all family. There’s no need to be so polite.” With that, Jenny left the living room and headed to the kitchen. However, Gilbert’s face darkened because of what Zack had just said. “What do you mean? When did Alec become part of our family?” “Isn’t it a matter of time? Look at them; they’re bound to get married again.” With a smile, Zack intentionally took a jab at Gilbert’s sore spot. He wanted Gilbert to understand that it was impossible for him to be with Jenny “Don’t you know how Alec treated Jenny? How can you support him, Zack? Do you really treat Jenny as your sister? Gilbert scolded. He was already angry the moment he saw Alec in Jenny’s house, and Zack’s words only added fuel to the fire.

Zack shrugged, saying, “She’s my sister, so I wish nothing but happiness for her.” “Alec can’t give her happiness!” Gilbert spat.

“He can’t give it to her, but can you?” Zack stopped smiling and turned to look coldly at his brother. “I’ve told you so many times, and I thought you would take at least a little bit of my advice, but I guess I was wrong Well, I think it doesn’t matter who Jenny ends up with. All that matters is her happiness. As her brother, I will always support her What about you? Will you support her?” Gilbert gritted his teeth, his expression was ugly “Since it doesn’t matter who she is with, can’t she be with me?” “She can’t!” Zack was frustrated. “Jenny won’t accept you. She won’t ever be with you.” “How do you know that? I never tried to pursue her, Gilbert retorted “Wasn’t her reaction obvious enough? Do you really want her to become a stranger to you?” Zack spat, fuming and wondering why Gilbert couldn’t understand the situation.

Gilbert was silent. Zack was right, Jenny’s reaction said it all. Nonetheless, his heart would not rest.

The brothers fell quiet, and neither attempted to break the silence. When Jenny and Alec came out of the kitchen, they realized something was amiss.

“What’s wrong? Jenny asked, a little baffled Zack shook his head. “Nothing” He walked to the dining table to look at all the food they had prepared, exclaiming. “Alec made all of this?” “Yeah” Jenny nodded, feeling a little embarrassed. “Zack, you already know I don’t know how to cook.” “That’s right. I’ve never seen you cook once.” Zack had no doubt that Alec made all the food. He looked at the dishes on the table before turning to Alec in disbelief. “I never imagined the mighty Mr. Faust would be such a good chef.” *Coine on Take a seat and try my food. If it tastes good, come back again next time.” Alec grinned as he poured Zack a glass of wine.

Glancing at him, Jenny wondered why he was acting like it was his house.

However, she decided to let it go Given that he had cooked so many dishes, Jenny decided not to argue Everyone took a seat except Gilbert Jenny turned to him and called, “Gilbert, come and eat.” “Okay.” Although he didn’t want to eat Alec’s food, he didn’t want to leave just like that. If he left, who knew what would happen between Jenny and Alec?

Even though he was reluctant to linger any longer, he decided to stay, refusing to give them the slightest chance.

To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 256-I Couldn’t Do It Anymore Alec couldn’t be bothered with Gilbert. In the past, he considered Gilbert as a potential threat. However, after the way Jenny reacted to her brother, he was completely at ease. However, since Jenny was around, he couldn’t make his dislike of Gilbert too obvious. Hence, he poured Gilbert a glass of wine. “Would you like a drink?” “Yeah.” Gilbert didn’t think that Alec could hold alcohol better than him.

The three men downed their glasses while Jenny ate her food. Jenny thought how cozy the moment would’ve been if Gilbert hadn’t done what he did. The three men continued drinking, till the point that they were becoming a little tipsy.

Seeing that, she was a little worried. “Stop drinking and have some food,” she said, feeling helpless at the sight of them downing glass after glass. However, they insisted on drinking. One might even think that they were in a drinking competition. Jenny then ignored them and headed to the sofa to sketch her designs.

An hour later, Alec and Zack blacked out from drinking. Gilbert, on the other hand, was still awake. “Jenny, *he called, getting up and approaching her.

“Gilbert?” Jenny noticed that Zack and Alec were sprawled on the table. “Why did you drink so much?” “Jenny,” Gilbert called her again, which brought Jenny an ominous feeling.

She turned around and met Gilbert’s gaze. As she had expected, Gilbert was not looking at her the way a brother would. However, it was a deep, tantalizing gaze that begged for love.

Jenny wasn’t moved. Instead, she felt a chill. “You’re drunk. Go and sleep in the room.” She had two guest rooms in her apartment, so both Gilbert and Zack could stay over.

Instead of leaving, Gilbert approached Jenny, asking, “Jenny, do you hate me that much?” “I don’t hate you.” Jenny shook her head.

“Then why can’t you give me a chance? I can do everything Alec can do, and I can even do it better than him.” Perhaps because he was drunk, Gilbert didn’t stop himself from speaking his mind.

Jenny frowned in response, displeased. “But you’re my brother.” “I don’t want to be your big brother. At least I don’t want to be your brother for the rest of my life.” Staring at her, Gilbert couldn’t hold himself back anymore.

“Jenny, I like you. I have liked you since the first time I saw you. You don’t know how difficult it was for me to hide my feelings all these years.” Jenny stood there, frozen. “Since you hid your feelings for so many years, why didn’t you continue to hide them? Why do you want me to know?” She wished she had never found out about his feelings, as he stopped being her elder brother the moment it happened.

“I wanted to hide them for the rest of my life, but I couldn’t do it anymore,” Gilbert said with a wry smile.” You don’t know how it pained me to see you and Alec getting closer. He hurt you so much, yet you still want to get close to him.

How could I bear to watch? I wondered why couldn’t you accept me when you could accept him. Unlike him, I never hurt you.” He just wanted a chance to pursue Jenny openly. Unfortunately, Jenny refused to give him the opportunity.

“Aren’t you hurting me right now?” Jenny asked, her eyes tearing up as she looked at him. Wasn’t he hurting her by destroying the siblingship they had shared for so many years? In Jenny’s opinion, Gilbert had hurt her a hundred times more than Alec ever did.

To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 257-Return Everything to Its Place Gilbert was stunned as he never thought his feelings had hurt Jenny. “Jenny, I-” “Gilbert, I know you never intended to hurt me. But your feelings hurt me. It hurts that they ruined the siblinghood we shared for so many years. Do you understand?” That was the reason why she had avoided Gilbert. She was afraid of the situation she was currently in, afraid that she couldn’t even call him her brother. They had spent so many years together, was it all going to end just like that?

Gilbert was silent for a while, wearing a pained smile. “That’s why you will never like me, right? Even if I don’t want this brother-sister relationship?” “Yes.” Jenny nodded without hesitation, looking him in the eye. “If you give up on our siblinghood, it will only make me hate you.” She didn’t want things to evolve to that state.

Gilbert sighed as if he had resigned to his fate. “I know.” “So, what is your choice?” Jenny asked warily, afraid that Gilbert would still insist on pursuing her. If he did, what should she do?

Gilbert looked at her with a tender gaze that Jenny was familiar with. “Of course I won’t give up our siblinghood.” Although upset about it, he knew he would get nothing out of giving up on it. He was afraid that he would end up with nothing if he actually did that, afraid that he couldn’t even be around Jenny. So, he decided to return everything to its place. Perhaps it was for the best, but one thing didn’t sit well with him… Gilbert looked at Alec lying on the table and frowned. “Let me ask you a question as your brother. Do you really want to remarry him?” Surprised by the sudden change of topic, Jenny struggled to respond. “Gilbert, I-” “Jenny, can’t you tell your brother the truth?” Gilbert asked.

Jenny had no choice but to answer him. “To be honest, I don’t know for now, but I won’t push him away. About remarrying him, I have never considered that.” She was a person who let bygones be bygones.

Gilbert’s heart sank at her answer. The fact that she didn’t reject Alec meant that she was willing to give him a chance. Given Alec’s stubborn determination, he could potentially impress Jenny. “I have nothing to say about you not returning my feelings, but I hope you won’t end up liking him.” In the end, Gilbert couldn’t stop himself from speaking what was on his mind.

“Gilbert, you never interfered with my affairs before,” Jenny said, smiling wryly.

She knew that Gilbert hadn’t given up completely, or he wouldn’t have said that. If he had given up, he would be like Zack, supporting Jenny as long as she was happy.

Gilbert fell silent. Jenny was right. If he didn’t like her, he wouldn’t have interfered.

After a moment of silence, he said, “If you like anyone else, I won’t interfere, but Alec…you just can’t.” Neither of them noticed Alec’s fist clenching under the table.

“Gilbert, I don’t know if I will like him, but I hope you will support any of my choices.” In the end, she still didn’t agree to Gilbert’s terms.

As soon as he heard her, Alec loosened his clenched fists, and a smile appeared on his face.

Sighing, Gilbert realized that whatever he said would be futile. “I understand. I’m just afraid you’ll be hurt.”

To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 258-Bastard!

Gilbert didn’t stay at Jenny’s house that night. After watching him leave with Zack in a taxi, Jenny returned to her apartment. The sight of Alec still sprawled across the table gave her a headache.

“Alec?” Jenny walked over to him and shoved him, but he didn’t respond. “If you can’t drink, why did you drink so much?” she grumbled. Then, she helped him up and brought him to the guest room.

She wanted to help him back to his condo, but unfortunately, she didn’t have the keys to his house. After finally getting him inside her guest room, she threw him hard on the bed. However, due to inertia, Jenny ended up on the bed, pressing on Alec’s body. Finding herself in that awkward situation, she let out a loud. squawk.

He was so close that the sound of his breathing rang in her ears, causing Jenny to blush.

She was grateful that Alec was asleep. Otherwise, he might even accuse her of molesting him. With that in mind, she was about to get up from the bed, but someone grabbed her wrist suddenly. It was then that she realized Alec had opened his eyes at some point, and he was watching her.

“You” Before she could finish, her whole world turned, and she found herself pinned under Alec. Finding herself in a more embarrassing situation than before, Jenny wanted to bury herself in the ground. “I thought you were drunk?” Jenny asked, as he wasn’t behaving like a drunk person at all.

“Anybody would wake if you fling them so hard on the bed. There was no way he would admit that he had been pretending to be drunk.

Jenny was a little embarrassed since she had indeed exerted too much force.

“You’re so heavy. How could I lift you up on my own? You should be grateful I didn’t throw you on the floor.” “Are you saying I should thank you?” he asked, his eyebrows raised.

“Yeah, a thank you would suffice. Also, please remove yourself from me, thank you very much.” Their current position was rather weird. One might even consider it inappropriate.

At least, Jenny did. However, Alec didn’t move. He even moved forward to draw closer to Jenny. “How can I do that? I’d hate to owe you a favor.” “Um, what are you- Before she could complete her sentence, Jenny’s lips were sealed by his. The moment their lips met, Jenny’s mind went blank, and she could do nothing but stare at him.

Alec, on the other hand, was a little uncomfortable with her staring so intensely at him. Sheepishly, he suggested, “You should close your eyes.” “Oh.” Just as Jenny was about to close her eyes, she returned to her senses.

Glaring at him, she shouted, You took advantage of me!” Instantly, she shoved Alec away. Her strength was on par with his. Hence, with a single push, he was cast aside. Retreating to the door, she watched him warily. “Bastard!” “I was expressing my gratitude to you!” he said brazenly.

Hearing that almost made Jenny rush forward to strangle him. Nonetheless, she didn’t do that because she knew she was no match for him. If she really did it, she would end up on the losing end. With an angry snort, she pointed at the door.

“Get out! I don’t want to see you for another second.” “I’m drunk…I can’t walk,” Alec declared before flopping down on the bed, closing his eyes, and pretending to fall asleep.

Enraged, Jenny seethed. “Oh, you just wait!” With that, Jenny immediately left the guest room. Alec, who had closed his eyes, smiled and murmured,” Good night, Jenny.”

To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 259-Pretending to Be a Gentleman When Alec woke up in Jenny’s house the next day, his mind was still flooded with last night’s memories. The thought of the kiss made him smile goofily. He reached out and touched his lips as if he could still feel Jenny’s warm lips.

He heard a voice from outside the door; it was probably Jenny. Without hesitating, he quickly got up from bed and opened the door to see her in the living room.

When their eyes met, neither spoke, and they began blushing hard, especially Jenny.

Glaring at Alec angrily, she said, “The toiletries are in the bathroom. I happened to have some extra lying around, so you can use them.” Nobody of the opposite gender had stayed overnight in her house, not even Gilbert and Zack. Who knew Alec would be the first?

“Thank you.” Alec nodded. He turned and walked into the bathroom.

Outside the guest room, Jenny silently cursed him for pretending to be a gentleman. After last night… Jenny sighed at the thought. Smacking her forehead, she told herself not to think about it.

When Alec came out of the bathroom, breakfast was ready on the table.

“I’ve prepared breakfast,” Jenny announced.

“Breakfast? What’s for breakfast?” Alec was truly surprised as he didn’t expect Jenny to cook.

“Instant noodles,” she replied, leaving him speechless.

“How can we eat instant noodles first thing in the morning?” Alec murmured before he took the instant noodles away.

“What are you doing?” Jenny asked.

Alec ignored her and went into the kitchen with the instant noodles. After a few moments, he brought them out again. However, they had protein and greens in them now.

Jenny couldn’t help laughing. “I didn’t expect you to be so concerned about things like that.” “Do you think I would do this if I wasn’t worried about your stomach?” Even his grandfather had yet to have the luxury of enjoying a breakfast prepared by Alec.

Jenny was the first one.

“Hey, it’s not as bad as you’re making it out to be. I’m fine.” “Is that so? I wonder who was in so much pain that she couldn’t stand,” Alec teased.

At a loss for words, Jenny couldn’t refute that.

After breakfast, Alec, who only had a day off that week, couldn’t stay at Jenny’s house any longer. After all, he had to attend a meeting at the Faust Group. “I’ll head off to work first. What are your plans today?” he asked before he left.

As it was Sunday, Jenny didn’t have to go to the hospital. “I might go to my office.

Since we’re just getting started, things might be busy.” Although Jade was overseeing the projects, Jenny couldn’t wait around as she was the head of the company.

“Okay, don’t tire yourself out.” “Got it,” she muttered, wondering why he was treating her like a child.

Alec soon left, and Jenny cleaned her house before heading to her office.

Meanwhile, in Gilbert’s villa, Zack woke up from his hangover. Rubbing his head in a daze, he asked, ” Where am I?” “You’re at home. Where else would you be?” Gilbert answered, handing him a glass of water.

Zack accepted it. After he drank it, he asked, “You brought me back?” “Did you think you walked back here by yourself?” Gilbert asked incredulously, wondering why he was asking dumb questions.

Placing the glass on the table, Zack rolled his eyes at him. “What’s wrong with you? Why are you so irritated?” When Gilbert fell silent, Zack asked, “How did it go with Jenny last night? Did you clear things. up?” “Yeah.” Gilbert nodded.

“That’s good.” Zack heaved a sigh of relief.

Gilbert didn’t sleep last night as a question kept bothering him all night long.

Finally, he made up his mind.

To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 260-Nonsense “Zack,” Gilbert called, his voice heavy. “I may have to leave for a while. I believe you’ll take good care of Jenny when I’m gone, right?” Zack froze in his tracks and instantly turned to look at him. “Leave? Where are you going?” “I need to attend to matters regarding my company’s overseas business. I’m going to investigate them.” Hearing that, Zack rolled his eyes at him. “Oh, a business trip! I thought you were planning to leave for good.” “There are a lot of things going on over there, so I may not be back so soon,” Gilbert elaborated.

Zack, who was in the middle of sighing in relief, instantly frowned. Studying Gilbert, he realized he was serious. He jerked upright and snarled, “Why are you doing this? You’re trying to escape!” He was not stupid. Since Gilbert suddenly wanted to leave, there was only one reason. Zack assumed it was because he never resolved things with Jenny.

“Maybe.” Gilbert didn’t deny it. “If I remain here, I’m afraid I won’t be able to control my feelings for Jenny. I just realized that my feelings had already caused her harm, so I decided to leave for a while. Perhaps when I am back, I’ll have completely let go of my feelings for her, and we can let bygones be bygones.” He didn’t want to leave as it meant he couldn’t see Jenny for a long time. However, he knew that as long as Jenny was within his vicinity, he wouldn’t be able to control his feelings for her.

Zack was about to persuade Gilbert that he didn’t need to do that, that the situation didn’t require such a dire measure. However, he swallowed his words in the end. He sighed and said, “You have already made up your mind, haven’t you?” “Yeah.” Gilbert nodded, “I’m just worried that bad things will happen to her after I leave.” “Excuse me? Are you saying that I’m not capable of protecting her?” Zack was rather annoyed as Gilbert’s statement insinuated that he was weak. Although he was indeed a little weaker than his brother, he would never admit it.

Gilbert side-eyed him, saying, “Well, if you’re so mighty and powerful as you claim, how did Alec manage to buy you over so easily?” “I don’t know who you’re talking about. What nonsense are you on right now?” Zack immediately retorted, refusing to admit it. Gilbert laughed; he couldn’t be bothered to argue with him, but Zack wasn’t done talking. Looking him in the eyes, he continued, “Jenny doesn’t need us to support her. She’s already capable of doing everything by herself, much better than us, I must say.

Gilbert didn’t deny it. Jenny had indeed improved so much from how she was in Orchid Village. Although Gilbert always wanted to help her, he couldn’t find a chance to. Even so, he was still worried about her.

“Well, in any case, take good care of her.” Gilbert patted him on the shoulder. He turned around, ready to leave.

It made Zack anxious. “Are you leaving right now?” “I’m going to the company now since I need to make the necessary arrangements first.” After all, there were many people under his management. They might think he was siphoning money from the company if he left without a word.

Zack heaved a sigh of relief. He was really afraid that Gilbert would leave immediately. If that were the case, he wouldn’t have any time left with him. He followed Gilbert, ready to go to the company with him. when a phone call stopped him. His expression gradually turned grim as he listened to the report from the other end of the line.

As soon as the call ended, Zack called Jenny, saying, “There’s an update about the matter you told me to investigate.”
