Luca smiled and nodded.

“You didn’t sleep well last night, right?” She asked.

Nina was taken aback, though she admitted it. “Yes, I didn’t sleep well. I can’t stop thinking that my mom needs another liver transplant.”

“Why? Who was her donor the first time?” Luca knew the answer to the question, but she had to pretend that she did not know.

“My brother was the donor. Back then, my mom didn’t agree to the donation, and she said that she wanted to find a liver on the black market. Eventually, my brother managed to persuade her to accept the donation, and that was how they could proceed with the operation so quickly,” Nina said.
