Family Ties
~Damon~

I know some of you are probably sitting there wondering why things are about to get a little bit interesting.
Well, you’re right. They are. My family is a whole lot, and when I say a whole lot, I mean the kind of people who can turn a simple dinner into a battlefield. That is one of the reasons why I never told Lyra about them.
Not because I was never going to, but because I had planned to do it on my own time. My plan was to tell her when the pups were at least two years old, when she had settled into her place as Luna, when nothing could shake her footing beside me.
But life doesn’t always wait for your perfect plan, does it? Things happen, and now we are here, at the front gates of my family’s home, with Lyra about to learn truths I had every intention of keeping buried for a little while longer.
We were more than twelve in the family before I left the house. Twelve siblings, cousins, the kind of number that makes a house feel like a pack within a pack.
That house was always loud, always full, always chaotic, and to escape it, I left for another country to build a family with Camilla. Looking back now, I can say it without hesitation: that was the worst decision I ever made.
Did my family like Camilla? Hell no. They never liked her. They didn’t like her sharp tongue, her arrogance, the way she carried herself like a queen when she was not one.
They didn’t even try to hide it. The judgment was always on their faces, and they didn’t bother to soften their words when she was in the room. But Tasha–Tasha was worse.
Even my own mother, her grandmother, did not like her. Not only because she had taken mostly Camilla’s genes, which made her more human than wolf, but because of what she did. Something despicable. Something unforgivable.
And now you might be wondering why Lilian, my sister, is standing there throwing tantrums, insulting Tasha to her face without hesitation, right in front of Lyra.
Well, let me burst your bubble. The reason she does it, the reason the hatred spills out of her so easily, is because Tasha slept with her son. Yes. Tasha slept with her cousin when she was fifteen.
Her cousin was the one who took her virginity card, and she knew he had a mate at the time. She was not
innocent. She was not blindsided. She knew and still chose to spread her legs for him.
Would you call Tasha a w***e? Absolutely, because that is what she has always been. Wild, reckless,
shameless from the very start. Where did she get that trait from? It sure as hell was not from me. Maybe it
came from her dead mother, because I know it did not come from my bloodline.
Now here we were, in front of the compound, and instead of walking in quietly like I had intended, Tasha had already opened her mouth and given Lilian a reason to explode. Lilian was already boiling, and then Tasha, in her stupidity, threw oil straight into the fire.
“Aunty Lilian, how many times do you want me to apologize to you?” Tasha’s voice was sharp
, shaking, but loud enough that every wolf nearby turned their head. “I said I was sorry for what I did. I was fifteen. That was

years ago. Just forgive me already and stop acting like a child.”
The words came out fast and heavy, and I could feel Lyra stiffen beside me. She had no idea what this was
about, but she knew it was about to turn ugly. Lilian’s lips curled back into something that was not a smile. It
was pure disgust.
“You dare stand here in front of me, in front of my brother, and raise your voice at me as though you are the
victim?”
“You ruined my family, you humiliated my son, and you destroyed his mate bond. And now you stand here
and tell me to stop acting like a child?”
Tasha’s hand balled into fists at her sides, and I could see the tears burning in her eyes, but she still shouted back. “I said I was sorry! I said it over and over. Do you want me to cut myself open and bleed at your feet before you forgive me? I was fifteen! I was stupid! How much longer are you going to hold this over me?”
Lilian scoffed. “For the rest of my life. Because what you did is unforgivable. You were not just stupid. You were vile. You knew he had a mate and you still spread your legs. You destroyed a bond the Moon Goddess herself had blessed. And now you dare to raise your voice at me as though I am the problem?”
Tasha’s voice cracked as she screamed back, “You think I don’t regret it? You just want to keep punishing me so you can feel better about your perfect son who knew exactly what he was doing with me!”
“What he was doing to you?” Lilian hissed. “Do not twist the truth to paint yourself as a victim. You spiked his
drink, you little brat. You forced yourself on him when he was vulnerable. You pretended you were his mate,
whispered lies in his ear, and then had the audacity to act like it was mutual.”
Tasha’s head snapped up, her eyes wide, her voice trembling but loud. “But I didn’t make him hard, Aunty!
That wasn’t me! His body reacted. You can’t blame me for that!”
Lilian laughed then, a dark, humorless laugh that made the hairs on Lyra’s arms stand on end beside me. She shook her head, her eyes never leaving Tasha. “Can you believe her, Damon? After all these years, your
daughter is still the same little bratty b***h she has always been. She cannot admit fault, cannot face her
shame, cannot own her sins. She ruins lives and then dares to argue as though she is the wronged one.”
Lilian’s fury did not ease. She stood with her chest rising and falling heavily, her eyes locked on Tasha like
she wanted to rip her apart with her bare hands.
“I hope you are not staying in the same house with us, because if you are, I will make sure you regret it. Every
day that you breathe under this roof, I will remind you of who you are and what you did. I will not let you sleep, I will not let you eat in peace, and I will not let you forget the disgrace you brought into this family.”
Tasha flinched at the words. She looked at me, silently begging me to intervene, but Lilian was too far gone in her rage to stop on her own. I had to cut her down before the entire pack saw our family unravel completely
in front of them.
“Calm down, Lilian,” I said, my tone deep, commanding, and leaving no room for debate. “Just calm down.”
Her head whipped toward me, and for a second she looked like she wanted to argue, but I stepped forwa and held her gaze.
“She isn’t staying here, do you understand me? There is already a house arranged for her, but it is not here. She will not be living under this roof. That is final.”
Lilian’s nostrils flared, and her fists tightened at her sides, but my words hit her hard enough to slow her rage.
Family Ties
Her eyes searched my face, daring me to waver, daring me to show weakness, but I stood my ground and let
her see the iron in my stare.
“Go inside,” I said again. “I will explain everything to you once you are calm. Not here, not like this Go
For a long moment she said nothing. Then she let out a sharp exhale and shook her head, muttering, “Handle her, Damon. For your sake, you had better mean it.”
Lilian’s nostrils flared as she held my gaze, her fists still clenched tight at her sides.
She turned as if she was done, but instead of walking away immediately, her eyes shifted. They slid past me and landed on Lyra, who sat in the car watching all of this unfold with wide, uncertain eyes.
Lilian’s expression changed, not soft but curious, sharp in a different way. Her lips curved into a smile that
did not reach her eyes, a smile full of calculation.
“And I will also like to know about this beautiful young girl you brought along with you,” she said, her voice
laced with interest that was almost too sweet to be real. “Because something tells me she is not here by
accident.”
Lyra blinked, caught off guard, her lips parting as though she wanted to speak but no words came out. Then
Lilian left.
I turned hard to face Tasha, and I let my voice carry the kind of authority that left no room for argument.
Follow the guard. He will take you to the house you’ll stay in.”
Her lips shook, her voice cracked as she tried. “But Dad-”
“Not another word from you, Tasha,” I snapped, my tone deep enough to make the guards stiffen. “Leave now.
”
She swallowed whatever was left in her throat, her eyes wet and her face still red from the bruises.
With her shoulders trembling, she lowered her head and obeyed, walking after the guard without daring to
look back. I watched her go, my jaw locked, my chest full of anger that had nowhere to land. She never
learned.
When she was gone from sight, I finally turned back to Lyra. She looked shaken, her wide eyes following every
movement like she was still trying to piece together what had just happened.
I forced my voice to soften. “Kitten, how are you feeling? I know it was a lot to watch. I’ll help you with your
bag. Just go inside, take a breath, and I’ll join you.”
She nodded slowly, her lips parting as though she wanted to say something but the words didn’t quite come
out. I reached into the car to take her bag, trying to ground her with the small act, but that was when I heard
the sound of footsteps.
The front doors opened, and my body went rigid before I even saw him, because I knew that walk, I knew that presence, and when his figure came into the light, my chest tightened.
My twin.
Daren.
He stepped out with that same arrogant smirk he had always carried.
He spread his arms slightly, his grin sharp and mocking. “Damon,” he drawled, his voice full of that lazy

charm that had always hidden his venom. “Looking good, brother Welcome back home”
Beside me, Lyra froze. Her breath caught, and I felt her staring, her gaze darting between me and Him like her brain couldn’t make sense of what she was seeing. Her lips parted, stunned, her whole body going stil

~Lyra~
Well, folks, you are not going to believe this, but apparently my life has officially turned into a messed–up daytime drama, and guess what? I’m the main character who did not get the script.
One second Damon is shutting Tasha down like he’s some terrifying but ridiculously hot courtroom judge handing out a life sentence, and the next second the front door swings open and–oh my God, you are not even ready for this–out comes Damon’s twin brother.
Yes. Twin. Brother.
Let me just pause here because I need you to feel what I felt. Imagine standing next to the man who has ruined your body on a private jet seat and made you forget your own name about three times in one flight, and suddenly, out of nowhere, another man walks out of the house looking exactly like him.
Same height. Same jawline. Same stupidly perfect hair. Same everything. It was like a copy–paste situation
gone wrong because this guy looked like Damon, but not really. Like someone took Damon, dipped him in
trouble, and told him to smile like the devil.
I swear my brain short–circuited. For one horrifying, confusing second, I thought Damon had cloned himself.
Like, was this some kind of werewolf Alpha science experiment? Was I about to be in a love triangle with two
of the same man? Because if so, I am not mentally prepared for that.
“Oh f**k,” Damon muttered under his breath, and that’s when I realized this was not just some random cousin
with good genes. Nope. This was serious.
“Damon,” the twin drawled, his voice smooth like honey but sticky in a way that made me want to back up.
Looking good, brother.”
Brother. He said brother. Which means this is real. Which means Damon has been keeping the fact that he
has a literal identical twin a secret from me this entire time.
And I know what you’re probably thinking: Lyra, calm down, maybe it just never came up. No. No, no, no. There is no universe where you “forget” to tell your pregnant eighteen–year–old mate that you have a twin brother lurking in the family house. That is not small talk you skip over breakfast. That is life–changing
information, okay?
And the worst part? The way he looked at me. Because the second his eyes landed on me, that smirk stretched just a little wider, like he could already smell every secret Damon and I had shared, like he knew every filthy detail of the plane ride, like he could see straight through my shirt and into every shameful thought in my head.
I froze. My heart was pounding so loud I thought everyone could hear it. My legs, already shaky from the
flight, turned into actual jelly.
My brain kept screaming don’t stare, don’t stare, don’t stare, but of course I stared. How could I not? He was Damon, but not Damon. He was familiar and dangerous all at once.
And all I could think was: great, Lyra, just great. You already barely survived meeting the sister, almost passed out when Lilian almost teared Tasha up, and now here comes twin brother number two walking

“And who’s this?” Daren asked, his voice rolling out smooth like silk, and then he smirked. Not a polite, friendly smerk either.
No, this was the kind of smirk that made my stomach twist because it was slow, dangerous, and absolutely intentional. His eyes slid over me in one long sweep, and I swear I felt every second of it crawf across my
svin
“She’s beautiful,” he said, his tone dripping with lazy charm, but there was nothing lazy about the way his gaze lingered on me.
His eyes dragged down my body in a way that made me feel like I was suddenly standing there naked under
his stare
“Tight little waist, curves in all the right places, and those eyes… He leaned just slightly to the side as if he could drink me in better “the kind of eyes that make men forget their own names.”
I nearly choked on air. My body went hot all over, my pulse banging against my throat so loudly I swore
Damon had to hear it.
I wanted to move, to cross my arms over my chest or hide behind Damon, but I couldn’t move. My legs felt like they had been glued to the ground,
Daren tilted his head, his smirk stretching wider. “She looks young for you, brother. Don’t tell me you’ve gone and snatched yourself a pretty little thing who hasn’t even finished growing into herself yet.”
He laughed softly, the kind of laugh that made heat flood my face because it sounded dirty without even trying. “You always did like to claim what everyone else was too afraid to touch.”
“Daren.” Damon’s voice came out hard, sharp enough to slice through the heavy air between us. His shoulders squared as he stepped closer, his body shifting just enough to put himself in front of me like a wall. “That’s
enough.”
But Daren didn’t stop. His eyes stayed locked on me, dark and mischievous. “I’m just saying what we’re all thinking, Damon. She’s gorgeous. And innocent. You can smell it on her. I bet she blushes every time you touch her. I bet she makes those sweet little noises that drive you insane.” He chuckled again, low and dangerous. “Tell me, brother, have you ruined her yet?”
My entire body went up in flames at his words. I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t blink. I felt Damon’s fury radiating off him in waves so hot it almost scorched my skin, but at the same time, I couldn’t stop staring at Daren, because his words twisted in my chest and sank straight into the places I didn’t want anyone else to see.
Damon’s jaw clenched tight, and his growl rumbled deep, vibrating through the air. “Shut your mouth, Daren, before I rip it off your face.”
he
But Daren? Oh no. He didn’t back off. He didn’t flinch. He didn’t even pretend to take it seriously. In chuckled, slow and maddening, that smirk still playing at the corners of his mouth as if Damon’s rage was the funniest thing he had seen all day.
< Twin Temptation
“Calm down, brother,” Daren said smoothly, raising his hands a little in mocking surrender, though his eyes
never left me.
“You’re so quick to snap, just like always. I wasn’t insulting her. I was appreciating her. There’s a difference He tilted his head and let his gaze drift over me again, seductively and slow enough to make my face burn
“And honestly, who wouldn’t appreciate her? Look at her. She’s stunning. Young, soft, untouched in all the ways that matter. I’d say you’ve outdone yourself this time.”
My heart thudded painfully in my chest, and my skin felt like it was on fire under the weight of his stare. Damon’s hand twitched at his side, his whole body coiled like he was a second away from lunging.
Daren, of course, wasn’t finished. He leaned in just slightly, his voice dropping lower, silkier, and somehow
filthier.
“Don’t be so defensive, Damon. You can’t expect me not to notice when you walk in here with a girl who looks like that. Hell, half the pack will notice. Half the pack already is. And if you weren’t my brother, I’d be tempted
to steal her right from under you.”
That was it. That was the breaking point. Damon’s entire body tensed, his eyes blazing, his chest heaving like he had been holding back a storm that finally tore through him. His growl rumbled out so loud it made the ground feel like it vibrated beneath my feet.
“Not because you look exactly like me does it give you any right to talk to my woman like that!” Damon snapped. His hand shot out, shoving Daren hard enough that his back hit the nearest stone pillar.
Daren just laughed. His head tilted back slightly, his smirk refusing to die, his voice smooth even though Damon was standing over him with murder in his eyes. “Your woman?” he repeated slowly, dragging the words out like he was tasting them. “Don’t tell me you found your mate already, Damon. You?”
He pushed off the pillar, brushing the dust from his shoulder as if nothing had happened, and his eyes glinted with wicked amusement as they landed back on me. “So this is her? The one fate tied you to? I’ll be damned. She’s young, she’s beautiful, and she looks like she has no idea what kind of hell she’s walked into.”
I felt my face burn so hot I thought I might combust right there on the spot. My legs wanted to move, to hide behind Damon’s body, but they refused to obey. My chest was tight, my heart was a drumbeat gone wild, and all I could do was stare as Damon’s fury only grew sharper, hotter, more dangerous by the second.
“She’s mine,” Damon growled, stepping closer until he was inches from Daren’s face. His voice dropped into a tone so possessive, so final, it made my skin prickle. “And if you so much as look at her again like that, I will tear your eyes out with my bare hands.”
Daren chuckled low, his smirk widening as though the threat excited him instead of warning him. His eyes cut to me again, slow as he licked his mouth, like he wanted to make Damon snap even further. “Oh, brother,” he purred, “you just made this a whole lot more interesting.”
Oh my God. When Daren said that when his smirk stretched wider and those words rolled off his tongue like he was promising trouble–my wolf lost it. She couldn’t stop talking to me.
He is dangerous, she hissed inside my head, her voice sharp and breathless all at once. Stay awa Stay behind Damon. Don’t let him look at you like that again. Don’t let him smell your heat, don’t le you’re weak. He will use it. He will ruin you.

But the problem was, I couldn’t stop staring. I couldn’t stop feeling the way my stomach twisted every time
his eyes flicked back to me like I was prey, like was tready pishad order my wage
Do you see the way he looks at you? my wolf pressed on her tone both furious and frantic. That le net a brother’s gaze. That is hunger. That is want. He wants to test Damon, he wants to rest you and if w he will break every boundary you have left.

I wanted to shout back at her in my head, I wanted to tell her to shut up, but I couldn’t, because of t wrong. My entire body was reacting, and I hated it.
“Mine,” Damon growled again.
But Daren only laughed, and my wolf snarled. He is mocking him. He is mocking us don’t let him see you shake. Don’t let him know how much he rattles you. Goddess, Lyra, hold yourself together before he makes a
game out of you.
The worst part was, she was right. Because the way Daren’s smirk curved, the way his eyes lingered, if fat exactly like he already had.

Damon~
“Daren. Daren. Daren.”
My twin brother. My curse since birth.
He has always been a troublemaker, even when we were children running wild through the pack grounds. I remember it as clear as if it happened yesterday.
Where I obeyed my father’s command, Daren disobeyed. Where I studied the laws of our kind, Daren broke them for fun. We were identical in face, but never in spirit.
He was chaos wrapped in charm, the boy who smirked when he should have bowed, who laughed in the face
of discipline while I clenched my fists and endured it.
He was twelve at that time, but his eyes carried that same glint I see now, the look of a wolf who doesn’t f
consequence, the look of a boy who will always choose fire over order.
Father beat him bloody that night, and still Daren smiled with crimson teeth. I hated him for it, and I envied
him too, because deep down I knew he enjoyed the fight in ways I never did.
The rivalry only grew worse with age. When I trained, he skipped drills to chase women, leaving me to carry the weight of our father’s expectations alone.
When I earned my scars through battles that nearly broke me, Daren earned his by provoking men stronger
than him, just to taste the chaos. And when it came to women… he had no shame. He took what he wanted,
no matter whose bed she belonged to.
There was a time when he seduced the daughter of a Beta I was meant to court. Did he cheat on his mate?
Yes he did and she left him. He seduced the betas daughter out of spite, not love, not lust–just to watch me burn with rage.
That was Daren. Always circling what was mine. Always daring me to lose control. Always mocking the line
between brotherhood and betrayal.
And now, here he stands, older but unchanged, his smirk cut from the same reckless stone as when we were
boys. His eyes are locked on Lyra, my mate, my woman, the only thing in this cursed life that belongs entirely
to me.
“We are not kids anymore, Daren.” My voice husky with rage, the kind of rage that has been building since the day we were born.
“Yes, you have taken plenty of Alphas‘ women. You have crept into their beds like a thief and you have f****d
their mates until they forgot who they belonged to.
“You have always been reckless with your c**k, always hunting for what is forbidden, always ruining and
mocking men who should have killed you for touching what was theirs. You wore your sins like a crown because you thought being my twin made you untouchable.”
I took a step closer, closing the space between us, forcing him to look directly into the eyes of the brother he has taunted his entire life..
I Would Kill You
“You have f****d them, you have broken them, and you laughed every time someone threatened to spill your blood because you thought no one would dare.
“You never cared about the wreckage you left behind, because trouble is the only thing that makes you feel alive. But you see this here.” I tilted my head back toward Lyra, my voice dropping into a growl that carried through the hall. “Lyra is mine.”
པས འག མས དང པ :ན པར ཁོང གངས |: |:ཀར | ས པ ད པ
The word mine thundered through my chest as I pressed forward until my shadow swallowed his.
“And Daren, if you ever touch her, if you ever dare to kiss her hands, if you ever let your mouth or your eyes
wander over her body again as though she were a prize for you to claim, I swear to the Goddess herself that I
will not hold back.
“I will not care that you are my blood brother. I will not care that you look exactly like me. I will not care that
we share the same mother, the same face, or the same name carved into our family’s history.
“I will tear you apart in front of the entire pack, and I will do it without hesitation. I will rip your heart from
your chest while they watch, and I will hold it high as a warning to every wolf that dares to even imagine h
as theirs.”
I leaned closer, my voice rough but steady, each word a blade I wanted him to feel. “I will kill you, Daren, and !
will not lose a single hour of sleep over it.
“I will grind your body into the dirt of this house, and when they bury you, they will bury you with the memory
that you died for underestimating me.
“Blood means nothing to me when it comes to her. She is mine in every way the Goddess has decreed. She is
mine in body, mine in soul, mine in spirit, mine in heat, mine in every breath she takes. Her scent belongs to
me, her skin belongs to me, her womb belongs to me, her future belongs to me. If you test me, you will not just lose a brother–you will lose your life. Do you understand me?”
Daren smirked as he titled his head, “Brother, look deep into my eyes. I am not afraid of you, Damon. Not one
bit. You can growl and snarl and throw your threats like stones, but they do not touch me. If I want her, your
woman, I will have her. Oh, I will”
“When I decide to take her, there will not be a damn thing you can do to stop me. We may look the same, but
our charms are not the same. You are all sharp edges and violence.
“You claim with force, with teeth, with blood. I do not need to. I will take her with a smile, with a whisper, with
a touch that will make her body betray you. The way I will put my hands on her will be different. The way I will
make her moan my name will be different.
Daren leaned in, his eyes burning into mine with that poisonous hunger he never bothered to hide. His voice dropped lower, silkier, crueler.
“The way I’ll touch her p***y, Damon, will be nothing like the way you take her. You pound, you claim, you
break her with your strength because that is all you know. But me?” His smirk curved wider, his words
twisting like knives.
“I will slide my fingers into her slowly, so slowly she will forget to breathe. I will circle her clit until her thighs shake and she begs me to stop, but I will not stop.
“I will make her wetter than you have ever seen her. I will spread her open with my tongue and taste every drop until her cries echo through these walls. And when I finally push my c**k into her, I
will make her ride me

until she forgets you exist.”
His head tilted slightly as he licked the blood from his bottom lip, his tone dropping into a near purr.

“You see, brother, she will never have to fear me the way she fears you. She will never flinch under my hand. She will open for me willingly, moaning for me, crying for me, giving me every part of herself because I will not need to take it by force.
“And when she realizes how different it feels to be worshiped instead of owned, she will crawl to my bed Kerself. She will beg me to keep her, and she will thank me for touching her in ways you never could.”
His eyes flicked to Lyra, letting every word fall like venom between us. “The way I will make her scream my name, Damon, the way I will make her come apart in my arms, she will never want to leave. And when her belly swells with my seed instead of yours, you will finally know what it feels like to lose.”
“You f*****g bastard!” My voice thundered as my fist cracked across his jaw, sending him stumbling sideways into the pillar. The stone shook from the force, and blood splattered from his mouth in a dark spra
He spat thick red onto the floor, wiped his chin with the back of his hand, and looked back at me with that damn smirk carved deeper into his face.
“You punch like a b***h, brother. All those years of discipline, all those years of training, and that is the best you can do? No wonder you cling to her so desperately.
“No wonder you bare your teeth every time another man looks at her. You are afraid. Afraid that she will find out how weak you really are. Afraid she will see that I am everything you are not.”
I took a step forward, my fists clenched so tight the skin split across my knuckles. “You will shut your filthy
mouth before I rip it from your face.”
But Daren only leaned off the pillar, chuckling through the blood that slid down his chin. His eyes flicked to Lyra, and his voice sank lower, slick and dangerous.
“The way I would touch her p***y, Damon, would not be the way you do. You take with violence because that
is all you know.
“But I would worship her. I would put my mouth on her until she sobbed my name. I would make her body sing
for me in ways it never will for you.
“I would spread her thighs and show her the difference between being claimed like a possession and being adored like a goddess. And when she comes apart for me, she will understand that what she has with you is
nothing more than chains.”
My chest heaved, fury boiling so hot it made my vision blur. “If you say another word about her, I swear you
will not walk out of this hall alive.”
Daren grinned wider, blood staining his teeth. “Oh, brother, I am not saying anything you do not already fear,
You can mark her, you can roar mine until your lungs collapse, but women like her… they crave what you
cannot give.
“You think you own her, but all I see is a girl trembling,
aching, confused. And confused girls wander. Confused girls break. Confused girls find themselves moaning for men they should not touch.
“Imagine her underneath me, Damon. Imagine her back arching while she whispers my name instead of yours. Imagine her belly swelling with my child while you sit powerless to stop it.

My hand shot forward and gripped his throat, slamming him back into the pillar so hard the stone cracked. My wolf tore at my chest, demanding his blood.
“If you ever lay a hand on her, if you ever breathe her name with that filthy tongue again, I will gut you in front of every wolf here. Do you understand me, Daren? I will kill you without hesitation.”
He choked out a laugh, even with my hand crushing his throat. “Then kill me, Damon. Spill your brother’s
blood. Show her that you are nothing but a beast who cannot control himself.” His smirk returned, twisted,
taunting. “Do it. Prove me right.”
“Damon!” Lyra’s voice broke. She clawed at my arm, her eyes wide, her voice desperate. “Please, stop. Please, he is your brother. You cannot kill him. You cannot do this in front of me. Please, Damon, I am begging you.”

~Lyra~
How would you feel standing in front of two identical brothers, both of them carved from the same dangerous beauty, both of them radiating enough power to crush you just by looking your way?
I will not lie to you. I was already in tears. My vision blurred, my chest ached, and my throat felt like it was closing. I did not even know what was happening anymore.
My wolf was begging me to calm down, whispering inside my head that I needed to breathe, that I needed to stay still, but the more I tried, the harder I cried.
My body shook like a leaf in a storm because the scene unfolding in front of me did not even feel real. It was as if I was standing inside some twisted nightmare where two Damons had been set loose to destroy each
other and I was the one who had lit the fire.
It was terrifying because when I looked at them, I could barely tell them apart.
The only difference between them was their clothes. It was like watching Damon fight his reflection, and the thought alone made my chest hurt so badly I could barely stand.
And yet, here is the part that makes me feel sick even admitting it: Daren had some kind of sick effect on me.
Goddess help me, I do not know why, and I hate myself for even feeling it. He should repulse me, but when his filthy words slipped from his mouth, when he looked at me with those eyes that mirrored Damon’s but burned
with darker hunger, I felt something I should never have felt.
I felt heat twist low in my stomach, an ache that had no place there. It was wrong. It was shameful. It should
not be happening.
But my body betrayed me, reacting to the filth he promised as if my nerves could not tell the difference
between danger and desire.
What is wrong with me? Why, when I heard him/speak about what he would do to me, did I feel a sensation
shoot through me, leaving me trembling, my thighs clenching together like I was caught between horror and
need?
I wanted to scream at myself to stop, to shut it down, to erase the thought. But I could not. Because even
though Damon was about to break his twin brother’s face in two for daring to say it, my heart hammered
against my ribs with confusion and fire that made me want to hide from my own skin.
“Damon, please, just stop!” I cried, my voice shaking so badly it broke in the middle of his name. I rushed
forward, grabbing his arm with both my hands. “Babe, listen to me, please. Damon! Damon, please stop!
Please, I am begging you!”
“You have me, Damon, every part of me, every piece of me already belongs to you. I do not want him, I do not need him, I hate him for saying those things, I hate him for looking at me that way.
“You do not need to kill him to prove he cannot touch me, because I will never let him. I swear it, Damon, I swear it on my soul, on my bond with you, I will never let him have me, so please, stop before you do something you will regret forever.”
I was shaking so hard I thought my legs might give out, but I kept crying, kept begging, kept talking, because
Twin Flames
I
could not let Damon slip away into that rage completely.
“Please, babe, please just look at me. Look at me, not him. I am yours. I will always be yours. Please, Damon, do not let him take this from us by pushing you to kill him. I love you, and I need you, and I cannot lose you to
this. Please, just stop. Please.”
And then I heard Daren laugh.
It was low, cruel, and so smug it made my stomach twist. He leaned forward against the pillar even with Damon’s hand crushing his throat, his mouth split open and bleeding, yet he still found the strength to grin at us both as though this was his victory.
“Listen to your woman, brother,” Daren rasped, his tone thick with mockery as his eyes burned with amusement. “Do you hear her? She is begging you, clinging to you, crying for you not to kill me.
“And you know why, Damon? It is not just because she fears for you. It is because she fears for me too. She is crying for me. She does not want me dead. She does not want to see me broken beneath your fists. A part of
her wants me alive.”
I froze, my chest seizing, but Daren’s words did not stop. They only grew filthier, darker, more poisonous.
“She tells you she hates me, but her body betrays her. I saw it, I smelled it, I felt it the second I spoke. You
may own her in name, Damon, but her body is curious. Her body wonders. Her body aches to know what it would feel like if I slid inside her instead of you.
“You think her tears are only for you? No, brother. She is crying because the thought of me will not leave her. I am already in her head, I am already under her skin, and you cannot beat me out of her no matter how hard
you try.”
“Shut your mouth,” Damon snarled, but Daren’s smirk, widened as if he had been waiting for that exact
response.
“She clings to you now,” Daren continued, his eyes flicking to me, lingering in a way that made my stomach burn with both shame and heat, “but when she is alone at night, she will think of me.
1
“She will remember the way I said I would touch her, the way I would taste her, the way I would worship her body instead of breaking it. And when that thought takes root, she will tremble, she will ache, she will touch
herself with your name on her lips but my face in her head.
“You cannot stop it. You cannot stop me. Because she already knows I am different from you, and different is temptation.”
“Get out of my sight, Daren. Now.”
The words thundered out of him. My knees nearly buckled from the weight of it, and I saw something shift in Daren’s eyes.
His smirk faltered, barely, but enough for me to see it. His shoulders stiffened, his jaw clenched, and he shook. It was small, quick, almost unnoticeable, but I saw it. I saw him flinch in fear of Damon’s wolf.
My own wolf inside me stirred, sharp and wild, hissing with satisfaction because she recognized the
truth. Daren could smirk, Daren could taunt, but beneath it all, he felt the weight of Damon’s dominance and it rattled him.
For one breath, just one, I thought he might bow his head. But then he straightened, dragging his tongue

across his bloody lip, and the mask snapped back into place. That damn smirk curved his mouth again, mocking and dangerous, as if he had not just cracked.
“Alright, brother,” Daren said, his voice smooth, coated with that careless arrogance he wore like armor, though I could still hear the edge underneath it.
His eyes flicked to me, slow and the look he gave me made my stomach twist with both shame and heat. It lingered too long, as if he wanted Damon to see it, as if he wanted me to feel it. “We will see.”
He stepped back then, his shoulders rolling lazily as though Damon’s fury were nothing but an inconvenience.
The second Daren’s shadow vanished into the doorway, my body shook with so much fury and fear I could barely stand still. My hands were trembling, my face still wet with tears, and yet the words flew out of me before I could stop them.
“Why didn’t you tell me about your twin brother, Damon? What is wrong with you, huh? Why didn’t you let me know about your family? Speak to me. f*****g speak!” My voice cracked on the last word, half from the sob in my throat and half from the way my chest felt like it was breaking apart.
Damon’s jaw tightened as his eyes flashed, the storm inside him still alive and clawing for release. “Not now,
kitten,” he said, his tone clipped and harsh, the words slicing through the tension. “I will grab the bags. Just go inside.”
“No, Damon!” I screamed, my tears turning into heat, anger pouring into my voice until my throat ached. “***k you! Talk to me! Why? Why didn’t you tell me? Why didn’t you let me know about him? About them? About
your family? You must have your f*****g reason, so say it to me, Damon. Say it!”
His head snapped toward me, his wolf rumbling beneath his skin as he growled low enough to shake the air
between us. “Do not get me pissed, kitten. And do not use the f word on me.”
My heart hammered so violently I thought I would collapse, but I refused to step back. I refused to let him
silence me.
“Or what, huh? What will you do, Damon? Will you growl at me? Will you throw me aside? You hide things
from me and then you tell me not to curse? No, you talk to me now! You cannot keep me in the dark and
expect me to just obey you like nothing happened!”
His eyes narrowed as he shook his head slowly, the corner of his mouth curving into that dangerous smirk
that made my stomach knot even as my wolf snarled in warning.
“You feisty little omega,” he muttered, almost amused, and before I could even register what he was doing, he
bent down, grabbed me by my thighs, and tossed me over his broad shoulder like I weighed nothing.
I gasped, kicking against his chest as his arm locked around the back of my legs. My fists pounded against
his back as heat rushed to my face. “Let me go, Damon! Drop me! I am not some bag you can throw around.
Damon, I mean it, let me go right now!”
He did not even flinch. He turned his head slightly toward the guards who had been frozen in place since the fight and barked, “Pick up our bags. Now.” His voice carried so much command that they scrambled instantly,
grabbing the luggage as though their lives depended on it.
“Damon!” I cried again, my body bouncing against his shoulder as he carried me toward the entrance like I was nothing more than a toy in his grip. My nails dug into his back through his shirt as I kicked against him.
“This is insane! Let me down, I am not a child. I am not some possession you can just throw over your

shoulder whenever you feel like it!”
He shifted his grip slightly, one large hand pressing firmly against the back of my thighs, his other hand lifting to my ass where he delivered a sharp spank that made me gasp so loudly I thought the guards might hear my soul leave my body. f**k that turned me on. I knew that instant I was f*****g wet.
“Say one more thing, kitten,” Damon growled, his voice low, dangerous, and thick with warning as he carried me up the stairs with complete ease. “Just say one more word. I dare you.”
“Or what, Damon?” I whispered.

I knew I had messed up the second the words slipped out of my mouth. Or what. Do you have any idea how stupid that sounded, how reckless, how suicidal?
Because Damon stopped dead in his tracks the very moment I said it. His entire body stiffened beneath me, every muscle locking tight, like a predator that had just scented weakness in its prey.
He turned his head just enough for me to catch the sharp outline of his jaw and the way his lips parted like he was on the verge of snapping.
“You really want to test me, kitten?”
“You want to know what I will do if you keep running that filthy little mouth of yours?”
My wolf inside me screamed at me to back down, to swallow my pride, but I could not. I was trembling, tears still streaking my cheeks, but I could not stop myself.
My heart was hammering against my ribs and my body felt like it was on fire, and the worst part is that I did not even know if it was from fear or need.
I hated myself for it, hated the way my skin lit up under his voice, hated the way I was wet just from the way
he growled at me.
I swear I had never hated a man the way I hated Damon in that moment, because he did not care that I was screaming at the top of my lungs, he did not care that I was pounding on his back like I was trying to knock him over, he did not care that I was kicking my legs so wildly my shoes nearly flew off.
He just kept walking, his arm ironclad around my thighs, his other hand steady, carrying me like I weighed nothing, like my tantrum meant absolutely nothing.
And the worst part was that the more he ignored me, the louder I got, because I could not stop myself.
“Damon, I swear this is the most humiliating thing that has ever happened to me in my entire life! Do you even realize what you’re doing?
“Do you realize I am upside down right now, and my hair is all over the place, and I probably look insane?! mean, who even carries their girlfriend like this, Damon? What are you trying to prove?
“That you’re strong? That you’re Alpha? Congratulations, we all already knew that, you don’t have to throw me over your shoulder like I’m some prize you won at a carnival! Put me down! Do you hear me? Put me down right now!”
And then it happened.
We heard a woman’s voice.
“Damon,” she said, and the way she said it was enough for me to know. “Son, you are home. But who is this you brought with you on your shoulders?”
I froze. I actually stopped breathing. I could not move, could not even blink, because oh my Goddess, that
was his mother.
Upside Down
His actual mother, I was dangling upside down like some captured criminal and his mother was standing there, watching, probably judging me, probably hating me already. My face burned so hot I was sure steam was about to come out of my ears.
“Oh my God!” I shrieked, thrashing harder. “Damon, put me down right now, I am not meeting your mother like this! This is insane! Do you even have a brain? Do you even understand how humiliating this is for me?
“She probably thinks I am some random girl you dragged off the street. Do you know what she is going to think? She is going to think I am some slut you picked up in a bar, or worse, that I begged you to carry me like
this, which I did not!
“For the record, Mrs. Damon’s–Mother, I did not ask for this! He is insane, your son is insane, and I am so sorry you have to see me like this because I promise you I am not normally upside down when I meet people!”
I tried to push up on his back so I could at least see her face, but Damon’s hand pressed down harder on my thighs, pinning me. “Not now, Mum. We can discuss this tomorrow.”
Tomorrow? Tomorrow? Was he joking?
“Tomorrow?!” I yelled, pounding his back so hard my palms stung. “Are you insane? Tell her now, Damon! Tell her who I am! Do not just walk past your mother like this while I am literally dangling upside down like a sack
of potatoes!
“This is not normal! This is not okay! She deserves to know who I am, I deserve to be introduced properly, like a normal person, not like this! You are ruining my life, Damon, you are absolutely ruining my life!”
I could feel his grip tightening, his muscles hardening, and his voice dropped lower, more dangerous. “Kitten,
not another word.”
But I could not stop. I could not shut up. My wolf inside me was screaming at me to be silent, but I was too humiliated, too panicked, too caught up in the heat of the moment.
“Do not tell me not to speak! Do not silence me in front of your mother! Do you even hear yourself? I am a human being, Damon, I have a mouth, I have words, and I am going to use them because this is not fair!
“Your mother is literally right there and you are acting like this is nothing, like carrying me upside down is completely normal, but it is not! Nothing about this is normal! Tell her who I am right now or I swear I will scream until the whole house knows my name!”
His growl ripped through the hall, vibrating against my ribs. “Keep running that filthy little mouth of yours in front of my mother and I swear, tomorrow will not come before I deal with you first.”
I twisted on his shoulder, clawing at his back, my hair flying in every direction, and the words just poured out of me, louder and faster with every breath.
“Ma’am, please! Please, help me! I am begging you! Do you see what your son is doing to me? He is carrying me like I am a bag of groceries! I swear I did not agree to this, I am not a volunteer in some circus act! I have legs, I can walk, I promise I know how to walk on my own two feet.
“He is kidnapping me in your own house, right in front of you! You are his mother, aren’t you supposed to stop him? Please, I am not crazy, I am not usually upside down like this, I swear I am a very respectable person when I am right side up!”
Damon’s grip on me tightened like steel, but I was too far gone to stop.
Upaids Down
I was flailing my arms, kicking my legs, shrieking like a banshee because if anyone was going to save me from this humiliation, it had to be his mother.
“I am begging you, ma’am, I am too young to die of embarrassment. I am only eighteen, I have a whole life ahead of me, and if this continues I will not survive it. Your son is insane! He is crazy! Do you see this? Argh! Your son is going to kill me with humiliation! Please tell him to put me down before my brain falls out of my head from all the blood rushing this way!”
And then I heard it. The most glorious, heavenly words I had ever heard in my entire life, delivered in the calmest, most motherly voice that made me want to cry with joy.
“Damon, child, drop the girl down.”
I froze for half a second and then screamed like I had just won the lottery. “Yes! Thank you, ma’am! Thank you, Goddess bless you, you are the only sane person in this house! Do you hear that, Damon?
“Your mother said drop me down! She is your mother, you cannot disobey her, so put me down right now before I combust into flames of shame and regret. Please, please, please, I beg you, let me down so I can look like a human being again instead of an upside down chicken!”
Damon growled deep in his chest, and I could feel the vibration against my stomach. He muttered through clenched teeth, his voice rough with irritation. “Mum, not now.”
“Not now?” I screamed again, pounding his back with my fists. “What do you mean not now? She is your mother! She literally told you to drop me down!
“Are you insane? Do you want to get cursed for disobedience? Damon, put me down! She outranks you! She created you! The least you can do is listen to her and put your poor, humiliated girlfriend down before I die right here on your shoulder!”
His mother’s voice came again, firmer this time. “Damon. Drop. The. Girl.”
I gasped dramatically, clinging to his back as if my life depended on it. “Did you hear that? She said it again! I told you, Damon, you cannot fight your mother. No wolf in the world can fight his mother. It is like, a universal law! Please just put me down before she gets angry and I get blamed for it because you refuse to listen!”
I was practically bouncing with hope when his mother told him again to drop me down. I thought for sure I
was saved. I thought he would listen, that he would finally obey the one person in the world no son ever dares
disobey.
But Damon only growled low in his chest, the sound making my stomach clench, and he answered her without even breaking his stride.
“No, Mum.
“Arghhhh!?” I screamed, my voice cracking so hard it echoed off the walls. “What do you mean no? You cannot just tell your mother ‘tomorrow.‘ She literally told you to put me down!
“Do you even hear yourself? Oh my God, I cannot believe you! Do you know how many boys in this world would be struck dead on the spot for ignoring their mothers like this?
But Damon did not listen. He carried me up the staircase with the same calm, powerful strides, my body bouncing against his shoulder while I kept thrashing and ranting like some possessed child.
He did not say a word until we reached the top of the stairs. He shoved the bedroom door open with his

shoulder, strode inside, and then
dropped me down on the bed like I was nothing
11 gasped, sprawling on the sheets with my hair a mess, my face red, my chest heaving. Before I could even scramble up, he shut the door behind him with a slam and turned the lock with a click.
My heart was pounding so loudly I could barely hear my own thoughts when his shadow fell over me. He took one step closer.
“You think my mother will save you? Cute.”
