Chapter 486: Generals daughter

When they didn’t answer her and kept hiding their faces, Grace realized, she shouldn’t have asked it. She was just trying to check whether they had sorted their difference and the sight of their flushed faces gave her the answer.

Heaving a sigh of relief, she smiled looking at them who sneaked a glance at her simultaneously.

"News about your Project termination with the Acme’s are making headlines. In the upcoming days, they have to deal with all the losses they suffered because of the sudden withdrawal" It was Trevor this time who caught their attention.

Ever since they came to learn about Linda’s scheme, the entire family joined hands in destroying them. It was Grace and Trevor’s suggestion to terminate the deal.

After a thorough investigation, Trevor found the ulterior motive of Charles being persistent in getting the project. The real purpose was to get all highly influenced investor to his side and enhance their already stable business.

Charles also approved Linda’s request to marry Karl because he was connected to them. So they all came up with the idea of breaking them slowly.

With the project getting terminated and Karl getting fired, they knew Linda would be shattered. And now all they had to do was to wait how long it took her to realize that the man she was trapped to marry was of no use.

"I am sure they would take this as a lesson," said Grace.

Everyone agreed to her and started feasting on the dinner.

"By the way where is Gavin? I haven’t seen him returning since morning" Grace noticed the absence of her younger son since morning.

She remembered him going with Gwen, but now it’s been a while and he hasn’t returned.

"I’ll just call him," Tristan said pulling out his phone and making a call to Gavin.

The ring went on for some time, but the call wasn’t answered, and that made Tristan furrow in confusion.

"He isn’t answering," he said ending the call.

Clueless, Grace wondered where Gavin had gone. If he was supposed to meet his friends he would’ve informed her, but now this delay left her worried.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the city away from his house, Gavin drove his car and reached the destination.

"Fortis Plus Hospital" the name escaped his mouth and he climbed down his car.

[Inside]

"When was the last time you saw Doctor Bianca" Sitting across the fellow doctors, Gavin asked.

His eyes scanned the surroundings carefully before they settled on the doctor in front.

Felix the head of Fortis pursed his lips nervously and answered," A week" his voice came like a whisper.

It’s had been a week since Bianca visited the hospital. After handling two successful surgeries that day, she left the hospital late at night and was supposed to report in the afternoon.

Many important surgeries were lined up under her name, but she was nowhere to be found. Her phone had gone out of reach nor did they find her at home.

It had been a huge deal for them as the top surgeon from their hospital suddenly disappeared without a word.

Bianca Peterson, daughter of Austin Peterson, was nowhere to be found and Gavin was here to find her following the General’s order.

It had been a week since she last contacted them, but as the days passed and they didn’t hear from her, it left them worried.

Austin remembered Gavin being in the same city as his daughter and immediately summoned him for the job.

Gavin being the most trusted and reliable cadet, Austin assigned him the task without batting an eye.

Deep lines formed between his brows when he noticed the nervousness on the head doctor’s face.

"Then why is there no missing report in the police station? Why’s no action been taken yet" Gavin’s slightly bulk body straightened on the chair he sat in while his eyes intimidated the man in front of him.

He could sense something was wrong and the man who was supposed to taking the responsibility of looking for their missing doctor hadn’t taken a step.

The other doctors who had joined the conversation glanced at each other when suddenly one of them spoke. She was none other than Bianca’s friend Jenny.

"I... I have something to confess" Her words caught everyone’s attention but the one whose face paled instantly was the head doctor Martin.

Gavin’s eyes squinted as he noticed the hesitation in her tone, but what bothered him were her eyes that kept glancing at Martin, nervously.

Stepping out of the hospital with a cold face Gavin hopped into his car.

Slamming the door shut he then fished his hand inside the pocket and pulled out the note.

"Doctor Martin, he knows everything" Those words he read confirmed his doubt regarding the head doctor.

He looked suspicious from the beginning and his lack of co operations made him lose his cool.

Fortunately Jenny who twisted her words a while back dropped a note for him before leaving.

As his eyes moved over the small note, his mind began to ponder on how he would get the doctor to confess everything.

" I must inform the General " Pausing for a moment, he then called Austin and updated him about Bianca.

Back inside Doctor Martin’s office, the man kept pacing back and forth. His anxiousness had reached its limit and he felt like throwing up.

Bianca disappearce wasn’t a coincidence, but a full proof plan. But now with people searching for her made the situation worst.

Looking at the drawer of his desk, Martin quick opened it and stared at the blank check.

’Just helps us and you get to put the amount you want on this check’ those words kept ringing his mind.

Martin had lost it when he decided to help those men. He should have known Bianca was am ordinary girl but daughter of the most reputed General of army force.

Her sudden absence was never going to go unnoticed, yet he let his greed play it’s game.

Chapter 487: Suspicious Gavin

It was half past eleven in the evening when Gavin returned home. After updating Austin on everything, he drove back home.

Walking upstairs, he was heading to his room when he noticed Tristan, coming out from the study.

"Partying with friends, huh," Tristan asked with a friendly smile.

He knew Gavin had a lot of friends and since he was back with a short break, he was supposed to meet them before leaving.

So when Grace started getting worried for him, he quickly calmed her down. As much as he too was concerned for his whereabouts, he knew Gavin wasn’t someone who liked causing trouble.

"Hmm.. It’s been a while since we met, so.. you know meet-up and stuff" he said scratching the back of his neck.

Gavin who had never kept any secret from his family, pursed his lips into a thin line as he had to lie to his brother about this particular task he was assigned.

Giving him a nod, Tristan patted his shoulder before walking past him.

Watching, his retreating figure, Gavin let out a sigh of relief and headed to his room.

[Bedroom]

"Did everything go well?" Ashley asked joining Tristan to bed.

She had been in the shower, at the time he returned attending important calls.

Questions had been raised by the board members, inquiring about what happened for Tristan to terminate the project with Acme halfway.

He had to deal with all these stuffs with a proper clarification from his end.

Giving her a meaningful stare, he pulled her closer into his embrace.

"Everything under control," he said.

As the couple kept lying silently, Ashley asked," Gavin, he seems to be quite busy even on the break"

Her words made Tristan tilt his head down, staring at her in confusion.

"Busy," he asked.

"Don’t take my words wrong, but have you asked him where he had been the entire day"

Tristan sensed an underlying meaning behind her words and bobbed his head," I did. He said he was with his friends" he replied.

Ashley frown on his response and fell deep into thought.

"Is there something you want to tell" he asked.

It didn’t take him long to read her face, so he immediately questioned.

"I don’t know, but I heard him talk with his senior the other night. He appeared serious and-" she paused looking at him skeptically.

"And?"

"He mentioned about Fortis Plus Hospital" deep line formed between his brows.

Fortis Plus Hospital was the same hospital Sandra was recovering before someone moved her. It was also the same hospital were Bianca worked.

As he looked at her, glint of confusion passed through his orbs.

"What is this boy up to" he muttered in a whisper as he fell into deep thoughts.

[Gabriel’s House]

After the horrible morning incident, Bianca locked herself inside the room. She was so embarrassed to face Gabriel that she didn’t dare to leave the room.

The maid who had been looking after her, brought her lunch in her room, but when she observed her flushed face, she got worried wondering whether her fever returned once again.

Surprisingly her assumption didn’t turned to be true and she left the room half concerned.

Bianca’s crimson red cheeks left her puzzled but she didn’t dare to question and left the room silently.

If only she had any idea why she had been blushing the entire time, she would have declared her weird.

"Sigh!.. how long do I have feel this way" words left her mouth and she climbed down the bed.

Never in her life, she had imagined to get swayed by these fleeting emotions. Her life she devoted to treat people needed a concrete mind.

Love and affection never fitted into her dictionary.

But with Griffin, everything turned out to be complicated. The man had come across on the television screen not only caught her attention but she also started adoring him secretly.

She thought this admiration would be limited to herself, but after whatever happened today, use started doubting herself.

She was attracted to Riel and she happened to learn it in an unexpected way.

All her belief took a U-turn when she saw him naked and the way her heart raced imagining his handsomeness was the proof.

"Oh god.... What’s wrong with me.... Why can’t I get him out of my head" She once again screamed but this time she didn’t surprise her voice. Instead she pulled her hair frustratingly and jumped down the bed.

Bianca forgot the count about how many times she had done this, but everytime she was done crying for her miscery, she would silently return to her seat, like an obedient kid.

"No no I can’t let him overpower me" She declared slapping her faces gently as she tried to brush off those fleeting emotions that’s were hovering over her mind.

Once she felt better, taking a few deep breaths she sprinted out of the room.

Sitting on the plush couch with his back resting against the armrest, Gabriel was busy playing PlayStation.

His hands moved swiftly on the remote while his furrowed eyes squinted with every move he took. Skillful he managed to kill his enemy like a pro.

Gabriel was fully enjoying his day-off but every time, his mood switched whenever Bianca’s face crossed his mind.

After she ran to her room, he waited for her to show up again, but even after so much time passed she never return.

Her strange behavior had caught him by surprise but he decided to divert his thoughts and focus on how he would get those men out from their hideouts.

The day he expressed his wish to help her, Riel had assigned his men around the hospital.

Not only did he monitored that place, he even went on investigating the doctors she worked with.

Out of all the people there was this one doctor who caught his attention.

Not only did he appeared to be suspicious but also his actions lately made him curious.

"What is this man hiding" He muttered pondering about the scenario when some one knocked on his bedrooms door.

Chapter 488: Won’t let anything happen to you

Annoyed by the interruption, Gabriel forced himself down from the couch and walked towards the door.

As soon as he opened it, a deep line formed between his brows as he started the woman in front of him.

Bianca who had finally shown up, looked like a tomato with those red cheeks. But what caught him by surprise were her eyes that tried to avoid him.

"Ahem... sorry to bother you... again but... can we talk" Bianca managed to muster the courage and finally spoke.

She was still feeling giddy inside her stomach. Talking with Gabriel wasn’t easy, not after what she had seen in the morning.

The view of his chiseled body still lingered in her mind and every time she thought of how handsome he was, she would end up blushing.

’Stop it, Bianca..’ she scolded herself in her mind for recalling that scene in her mind for god knows how many times.

Unable to look straight into his eyes, Bianca quickly lowered her head and waited for his response.

She knew she had already made a fool out of herself when she ran away like a scared mouse earlier. She didn’t want to repeat the same mistake and shove herself into the category of someone who had lost her mind.

So she decided to sound sincere.

Gabriel stood there observing the girl silently finally hummed. "Come in" With those two words he turned around and returned back to his seat.

Bianca raised her head when she saw his retreating steps and clutched her chest.

’This is going to be difficult’ she mumbled to herself before following him.

Taking the seat on the cushion chair, Bianca watched Gabriel resume his game. He seemed least bothered to initiate the talk, but since she wanted to get the answers to her question, she didn’t let his ignore affect her.

After all, he had been this cold and indifferent to her since their very first meeting, and this deafening silence between the two made the situation even more overbearing.

Clearing her throat she finally decided to speak and break the ice between the two.

"I... I want to know who those people are and why are they after me" Her words instantly stopped Gabriel’s fingers working on the remote and his face turned cold like ice.

The corner of his lips curled up into a sinister smirk, slowly turning his head to her. "Don’t you already know?" he asked.

Gabriel had presumed that Bianca wasn’t dumb enough to let him help her, just like that. But now that he stared at her carefully, the girl seemed to be unaware of everything.

Bianca frowned at his mocking smile. She could see that Riel looking down at her intelligence indirectly doubting her capability.

"If I had known, I wouldn’t be here," she said.

The smile on Riel’s face faltered a little and his brow arched doubtfully.

"Is that so? How can a capable doctor like you forget such an important thing" A tinge of playfulness could be sensed through his words, which made Bianca’s calm eyes glare at him, silently.

"What do you mean?" she asked sensing the hidden meaning behind his playful words.

Gabriel might have considered her dumb, but she wasn’t. The motive behind his doubting her capability made her curious.

This man had different layers of personality hiding behind his sweet-looking face. The image he maintained in front of the audience was just a façade. Instead, there was more of him that no one knew.

As she stared at him seriously, the smile he had been forcing to maintain vanished, now replacing his face with a cold one.

"Do you remember treating a patient who was shot" his words slipped her into a deep thought and her mind began to rack, recalling the past.

As soon as her memories matched with his words she gaped. "I do remember treating a patient who slipped into a coma for a few days after the surgery. It was a critical situation but the lady survived but-" She stopped remembering how the lady disappeared the very next day after she woke up.

"But she disappeared without your acknowledgment" It was Gabriel who finished her sentence.

Bianca gave him a doubtful look but gradually nodded her head.

"But, how is she responsible for my kidnapping? We don’t even know each other" she asked.

Gabriel’s cold eyes bored into her questioning one and finally, he decided to tell her everything.

It took Bianca a moment to grasp her thoughts as she sat on the chair numb. She happened to help someone whom she shouldn’t and that someone was directly related to the Knights and... him.

"So you aren’t Riel Scott, but Gabriel Emerson, the mafia" she stuttered slowly getting struck by the deadly reality.

The man she adored all this time was a mafia leader.

Giving her a nod, Gabriel stood up with his hands slipping on both pockets. Fixing his gaze with hers, he watched her gulp.

The moment her lips pursed into a thin line, and her Adam’s apple bobbled, Gabriel felt a rush of heat passing through his body.

Bianca looked so innocent with her eyes staring at him. But now that he finally noticed her features, he realized how beautiful she was.

Those blue eyes bored into his while her cheeks flushed once again, Gabriel suddenly got the urge to kiss her.

’What is wrong with you Riel’ a voice scolded him from behind and he quickly looked away.

Clearing his throat, he tried brushing away those fleeting feelings, quickly returning to his original cold demeanor.

"The reason why I decided to help you is because you are the prime lead that would take us to Sandra," he said breaking her trance.

Blinking away the dizziness that was slowly clouding her frozen mind, Bianca slowly returned to reality.

"But how will they find me? I am isolated in this house" she voiced her concern.

Bianca felt like getting dragged into this mess for no reason. She was just doing her job treating her patient, but who would have thought those people whom she helped weren’t ordinary ones, but criminals?

No matter how much she wanted to get out of this, she knew her life was at stake.

One mistake and she would be killed.

"Don’t worry... I won’t let anything happen to you" As if understanding her thoughts, Gabriel immediately assured her, which even left Bianca surprised.
