Ch. 491..495: Charmed by the Billionaire CEO Chapter 491-495
Chapter 491: Potential partner
Jenny’s eyes narrowed when Gavin averted his gaze from her and chuckled. "She must have missed to tell you about me. I am her childhood friend" he justified.
Jenny found Gavin’s words a little unconvincing, but then she remembered she knew nothing about Bianca’s childhood. She met her when they were studying medicine together.
From being roommates to best friends and then working in the same hospital, Jenny had been with Bianca. But never once did she find herself speaking about her family or her childhood.
’So maybe he is telling the truth’ she thought and quickly withdrew her suspicion about him.
"I see.." she finally gave him an assuring response, that calmed him down.
Gavin didn’t want to lie but knowing the severity of exposing his identity behind searching for Bianca would land him into big trouble.
Sitting silently on their seats, the two finished drinking their respective coffees and soon decided to leave.
Walking behind Jenny, Gavin eyed the girl curiously from behind. She turned out to be quite smarter than he assumed her to be and it kind of surprised him.
That day, when she sat along with the group of doctors, she appeared to be quite reserved, barely speaking until suddenly she raised her voice to say something, but someone’s warning glare stopped her from doing so and she hid back into her shell, only to surprise him out of the blue.
The thought of her secretly throwing the note into his lap while leaving the table left him startled, but he didn’t show any kind of reaction on his face and remained unbothered.
Thinking about that time, unknowingly a subtle grin curled in the corner of his lips but that grin soon faded when his eyes caught the sight of Jenny moving ahead.
After getting her phone number, Gavin tried to call her so she could save him but he forgot that his thoughts about her were coming in between his actions.
With her head down, Jenny kept looking for her phone inside her sling bag. Knowing it was Gavin who was calling her. It would have made sense if he had just given her a missed call just so she could save it later. But no, instead of doing that he kept the call ringing until it annoyed her.
Busy fishing her phone inside her bag, she failed to notice a group of school girls entering inside the coffee shop until she heard a loud voice from behind.
"Jenny..."
Stopping her actions, she turned around, giving Gavin confusion when her back hit the glass door and she fell forward ready to hit her face on the marble floor.
"Ah..." her mouth wide open in shock quickly pursed and her eyes closed as she waited for her body to land down but...
’Huh! Did I hit it already? Then why don’t I feel any pain and...what is the floor so firm yet warm’
With her mind busy thinking about the upcoming, Jenny failed to see the reality until a concerned-filled voice reached her ears and she snapped open her eyes only to find herself hugged by Gavin.
Blinking her eyes a few times when the realization has finally drawn into her, a blush crept on both her cheeks a wave of embarrassment hitting right into her guts.
Standing still in his embrace, Jenny didn’t dare to pull. She felt so flabbergasted that she tried to hide it from him.
The group of girls had already walked past them but the two remained rooted on their spot with no one intending to pull away.
Gavin stood frozen but the worry in his mind didn’t seem to stop. He had managed to stop her body from falling but even after a minute passed by, Jenny remained unmovable.
’Why isn’t she answering’ he thought as a frown took over his concern and he asked out a little loud.
"Jenny, are you alright?" though he was loud, he still managed to maintain the gentleness in his tone.
Jenny who was surprised with his words, slowly pulled back. With her head down, she tucked the strand of hair behind her ear and bobbed her head.
"I-I am fine" she replied without lifting her head.
Gavin found her reaction a little confusing, and before he could say anything further, Jenny swiftly turned around with her back facing him once again.
Gavin stood confused by her sudden retreat and heard her say," I’ll get going first" she said reaching her hand to pull the glass door open but stopped.
"Don’t worry, I have your number now. I’ll keep you updated about Doctor Martin’s schedule" With that she swiftly opened the door and walked out leaving Gavin baffled in his spot.
"Was she blushing?" word left his mouth as he watched her retreating figure through the glass door, confused.
It took him a moment to snap out of his thoughts when his phone rang. Averting his gaze from her, Gavin looked at the screen. It was a call from Tristan once again.
Curiosity took over his confusion and he finally answered the call.
"Gavin, I want you in my office now" his words left Gavin bewildered, but soon he agreed to his words and left the shop the next instant.
****
Stepping into the tall building, Gavin made his way to his brother’s office. Those who recognized him respectfully bowed their head while those who did, kept admiring his handsomeness, comparing it to their boss.
Avoiding their curious gaze, Gavin finally reached Tristan’s cabin and knocked on the door. He had no clue why his brother wanted to meet him, but watching his number missed call, he presumed it was something important.
"Come in" his voice snapped him out of his thoughts and he forced the door open and stepped inside.
As soon as Tristan watched him, he asked," You seem quite busy to even answer my calls. Are your friends keeping you so occupied that you left home as soon as the breakfast ended" his lips curling into an amusing grin, but his words held a sense of sarcasm.
Gavin walked towards his desk and pulled a chair for himself before sitting on it. "Yes, they seem to be too happy with my return" he lied with the same sarcasm.
Gavin could sense Tristan didn’t call him to discuss about his friends. Instead, he could tell there was something he wanted to ask him.
"So brother, what is that you want to ask? I know you didn’t call me to talk about my friends right" Tristan was amused by how quick-witted Gavin turned out to be after getting into the military.
There was this uncanny aura around him that made Tristan proud of his decision. Finally, Gavin turned out to be one of them.
"So you did get me, finally" he smiled looking at his brother.
Gavin didn’t mind anything that came from his brother. He admired him a lot and the purpose behind his enlisting in the Army was because he wanted to be someone like him. Though their profession would be different he would still be his brother.
When Gavin smiled back, Tristan dropped all the serious humor and came straight to the point.
"Where have you been yesterday" he asked. A serious glint of shine crossing through his blue eyes.
Gavin stilled on his seat, as he wasn’t expecting him to inquire about his arrival late at night. He thought his lie was enough to make him forget it, but guess he was wrong.
Anxiousness slowly takes over his playfulness with the smile of his freezing on his words. He tried to access Tristan’s expression but failed to see through his calmness.
"A-As I said... I was with my friends" he fumbled a little as he failed to look into his eyes, suddenly anxiousness crawling into his body.
Gavin hated lying to his brother. He was the only person whom he could open up to, but knowing the words he gave to his superior, he couldn’t oppose it.
Tristan arched his brow amusingly and leaned behind with both his palms clasped together and his elbows resting on the chair’s armrest as he observed his brother lie right into his face.
If it was Gwen, he would have brushed it off without pondering much, but Gavin who had always been sincere with him, was now lying to him.
Eyeing him for a few more seconds Tristan clicked his tongue. "If you say so, then you must surely be with your friends"
Tristan concluded that whatever Ashley said about Gavin was true, but with him lying about it, he could finally conclude that whatever he was doing was confidential and no matter how curious he was, he respected his decision to keep it away from him.
Gavin observed his brother for a minute and when he found his response convincing, he breathed a sigh of relief.
After a small pause, Gavin asked," Anything else you want to talk about, brother"
Gavin just wanted to leave before Tristan made him even more uncomfortable with his unexpected inquiries. He knew there was a thin line between his calmness and he didn’t want to panic if his brother happened to trigger some words that would catch him red-handed.
Patiently waiting for a reply, Gavin silently looked at Tristan who seemed to be thinking something. His silence was turning overbearing but he knew there was something he still wanted to ask.
"Now that you have returned for a small break, do you mind me introducing you to some potential suitors?" changing the topic, Tristan presented his mother’s words in front of Gavin, leaving him speechless.
Chapter 492: Keeping your options open
Gavin’s seated dumbfounded, unable to process his thoughts for some time. He was expecting Tristan to interrogate him, but his words not only left him speechless but also gave him a strange feeling.
It was surprising to bring up this topic, especially when his mother was trying to drag him into this blind date set-up.
All of her kids have settled in their lives and now she wanted her younger son too find a suitable partner for himself.
She expected Gavin to surprise her by introducing her to his girlfriend all of a sudden or at least give some kind of hints about his love life, but this child of hers remained indifferent whenever she brought up this topic.
So when she failed to get some gossip out of him, she pursued her elder son to convince him. And here he was talking on behalf of his mother.
"So do you want me to introduce you to one" When he didn’t speak a word and remained sealed lip, Tristan tried pursuing him.
He knew it was not his position to force his brother into something he totally disregarded but for his mother’s peace of mind, he didn’t mind bringing the topic.
Gavin who had been dumbstruck the entire time, snapped out hearing Tristan’s word and immediately shook his head.
"Where did this thought come from" Gavin questioned. His eyes stared at his brother in confusion.
Expecting the reaction, Tristan scratched his forehead and pursed his lips into a thin line, ashamed of what he had spoken.
"See, it isn’t me but mom who wants to find a suitable life partner for you" Tristan explained without hiding their mother’s motive.
Slumping against the chair, Gavin parted his mouth in disbelief. ’That’s why she was suddenly getting curious about my likes and dislikes about girls’
Shaking his head in dismay, Gavin cleared his mind and declined. "Sorry, but it’s too early for me to get into a relationship. Brother, I have just started focusing on my career. Mom can’t force me to get into a relationship" he snapped.
This thought of having someone in life didn’t cross his mind. Even watching his siblings find their life partners didn’t change his view over relationships, nor did they develop his urge to be in one.
He was happy being alone and living his life just the way he wanted. But what is wrong with his mother and why is she suddenly trying to trap him into blink-dates, he couldn’t understand.
Tristan watched his brother with calmness. Gavin had the right to argue but for once he had to think from Grace’s point of view.
"She isn’t forcing you, Gavin. She would never do that."
Tristan tried to explain but when he noticed the frown still resting on Gavin’s face he sighed and leaned forward with his hand resting on the table surface and his palms still clasped together as he continued.
"She just wants you to keep your options open and meet people apart from your friends. Who knows, you will come across someone who might end up liking" Tristan stated the fact.
When he first saw Ashley at that award function, he fell head over heels for her, but unfortunately, his luck wasn’t on his side and she had someone she loved.
In those years while secretly loving her, Grace tried to introduce him to various girls but he never found them attractive because his heart was occupied by Ashley.
He thought no matter how many girls he met they won’t be her. So he declined his mother’s suggestion and decided to wait for her until the news about her marriage broke on the internet.
Though it was a random question reporters asked her but her answer left him shattered. Ashley and Greg were going to get married within a year and the words from her mouth left him shattered.
It was then his belief began to shake and he finally agreed with Grace and started going on blind dates only to reject them because they weren’t Ashley.
For him, she was the only one. So when he learned about Greg’s affair with her so-called friend Jane, he went to extremes to expose them.
He knew Ashley would be heartbroken, but for a better future with him, she had to deal with the heartbreak.
So when she finally broke up with Greg, Tristan didn’t leave a chance to show her his sincerity towards her and how he was ready to take responsibility even after she declared the moment between them was a one-night stand.
As Tristan thought about their journey, a smile automatically crept on his lips.
"For me, blind dates didn’t work because I had Ashley in my heart but with you it’s different. So, it isn’t a big deal to explore yourself. As I said who knows you might end up liking someone"
Tristan’s words were clear and understandable which even left Gavin pondering. Though deep down he felt it a waste of time still, he decided to go with his brother’s advice, though he still felt there was no one he would come to like.
****
Days passed by after the stalker was caught. The following days had been peaceful after that with Noah taking care of Alice, pampering and coaxing her newly found cravings.
Alice had never been a picky eater, but after getting pregnant her taste changed. From being unable to handle spice to eating a lot of sweets. Someone who never liked dessert kept on ordering different ones whenever she would crave them.
Noah found this change in her too overwhelming but didn’t dare to raise a word. Instead of getting annoyed, he fulfilled her every request.
Even now while having donuts, he felt immense happiness. Alice looked more relaxed and had also started gaining a little weight. She looked adorable which made him squeeze her stuff cheeks.
"Hmm... Noah, stop disturbing me" she groaned pulling her face away from his palm, and frowned.
Swallowing the last piece of donut, she wiped her lips before rubbing her slightly swollen belly.
"I still don’t feel my stomach is full. Baby do you want more" Her words left Noah speechless with his mouth parting in disbelief.
Chapter 493: It’s unfair
"Babe, you already had four and still you are hungry," Noah asked with utter shock.
Alice’s smile faded and she shot a glare at him. "Are you saying I am eating too much" she flared.
Noah gulped at the sight of her furious eyes and shook his head innocently.
"No, babe, when did I even say that?" Noah defended, feeling wronged for his concern.
Alice who was raging like a bull a few seconds ago suddenly burst into tears, shocking the hell out of him.
"Wuah... now you are getting upset with me..." she cried leaving Noah dumbfounded on her change of reaction.
Opening and closing his mouth like a gasping fish, Noah tried to say something, but couldn’t fathom any word. He wasn’t expecting to witness this, but then he recalled about her strange mood swings and snapped out of his stupor before running to her side.
"Babe... I am sorry. Please don’t cry. I promise I won’t stop you from doing anything. You want more right? Wait let me fetch them for you" Noah panicked.
Her sudden weeping made him go nuts and he quickly rushed to coax her.
Alice sobbed, sniffing her tears. Like him, even she wasn’t aware of why suddenly she burst, but when started coaxing her, apologizing for something he didn’t do, she slowly stopped crying.
"Sniff... Okay, I forgive you, now go and bring me more donuts. We are hungry" she said rubbing her belly indicating her and the baby.
Relief, Noah bobbed his head like an obedient husband and climbed down the couch, and sprinted out of the room.
Wiping off her tears, Alice smiled and started talking with her unborn child lovingly.
"Your father doesn’t seem to understand anything but still, your mother loves him, and even you love him right" she asked as if the child would respond to her.
Alice had developed this habit of talking to her child from the day she started feeling its presence inside her tummy. At first, it was just a bean but now her child was slowly growing.
She would caress her stomach while talking about anything and also laughed at her statements. She knew by the time it grew, he would be able to connect with her more efficiently.
Meanwhile, Noah who drove out of the mansion, returned right after fifteen minutes. The donuts she was eating were purchased from her favorite donut shop which was quiet at a distance from their mansion.
But Noah drove the car at his highest speed, fetching the donuts for his wife, and returned home in no time.
As soon as he entered the room, his eyes searched for his wife on the couch but when he didn’t see her there he then looked around and found her sleeping on the bed instead.
The anxiety marred on his face slowly vanished and a loving smile replaced his face. Sighing at the sight of his beloved wife sleeping on the bed after making him run to bring her favorite donuts fell asleep even before his return.
Placing the bag on the side table, Noah walked towards the bed and sat next to her. Silently admiring her sleeping face, Noah felt an immense sense of peace rushing through his heart and he slowly leaned forward to kiss her forehead.
The peck on his skin woke her up and her drowsy eyes looked at him with surprise.
"Noah, when did you come" she asked sleepily, rubbing her eyes.
Alice was about to get up when Noah helped her to sit on the bed with her back gently resting against the headboard. Her eyes wandered around the room confusingly and she found a bag resting on the side table.
"Donuts" she muttered.
Noah who had been following her line of sight reached his hand towards the bag and brought them closer to her.
"Here, take this. Didn’t you say you were still hungry? Have them" he said passing the bag in her hand and smiling.
He felt so proud that he was able to get them for her in less than fifteen minutes. He never minded getting troubled because of her as he was ready to do anything for her.
So when she asked him to bring her more, he didn’t waste time and rushed to get the donuts for her.
Alice on the other hand blinked her eyes in confusion before looking back at Noah.
"But I don’t want to eat them anymore" his face paled as if her words hit him like someone threw a bucket full of ice water right on him and he gasped like a dying fish.
"W-what did you say," he asked in utter disbelief unable to grasp her words.
Alice maintained her confused look and repeated once again making sure he would hear her out. "I said, I don’t want to eat them anymore"
Noah didn’t know whether he should laugh or cry at his condition. His pregnant wife literally threw a fit at him just to have those donuts and now she changed her mind.
Keeping his eyes on her, Noah felt like he was losing his wits, but instead of expressing it, he chose to force a smile in a way that even his wife wouldn’t see through his anger.
"As you say, babe" he smiled taking back the bag from her hand and keeping it on the side table.
Without saying a word, Noah was about to leave but Alice grabbed his arm that made him look back at her.
Alice tried to look past his sadness that he tried to hide behind his smiling face. "I said I don’t want to eat them anymore, but I want something else" Her eyes shined playfully as she seductively bit her lips.
Confusion marred his face and he watched her speak those words, immediately asking shoving away his disappointment.
"Do you want to eat something else?" asked emphasizing her words from before and watched her give him an innocent yet mischievous nod.
At first, Noah couldn’t comprehend her words but then he couldn’t ponder much about it knowing her active mood swings.
"Tell me what you want," he asked attentively. All the fatigue on his face vanished and he was back to being a devoted husband, flashing a polite but innocent smile.
Alice smiled at his lack of understanding and grabbed the nape of his neck gently before shoving his face closer to her until the tips of the nose brushed.
"I want to eat you," she said without any restraint. Her eyes sensually stared at faces as they moved from his orbs to his lips and without holding a second more she captured his mouth reading to fill her hunger.
*****
The next morning Noah woke up naked while the person next to him was fully dressed. As she said, Alice didn’t spare, eating him dry until she was satisfied.
Looking at his flat yet swollen member resting after last night’s assaults, Noah came to learn one more thing and that was Alice had turned more horny.
But instead of feeling astonished, he rather felt amused at how pregnancy made him see the different side of hers she never thought she had within her.
Smiling at the thought, Noah turned around scooping Alice into his arms ready to doze back to sleep but a naughty thought crossed his mind his lips curled into a mischievous smile.
After swallowing Noah’s dick and eating him dry, she felt tired as she used all her energy to satisfy her thirst. She didn’t realize when she fell asleep, but in her mind, she found herself relaxing when suddenly she felt something ticklish on her chest as if someone was kneading her breast and sucking on them.
Frowning at the weird sensation, Alice groaned until she felt her buds getting tucked roughly. Snap opening her eyes in realization Alice jerked her head up and found Noah playing with her exposed boobs.
"Noah..." she called out his name tiredly but didn’t push him away.
Alice wasn’t expecting to wake up like this, but watching him play with her mounds she wondered why did he found them so amusing.
Noah licked her left erect bud and craned his neck up as a smile curved his lips and he said," Babe, don’t you think they have turned more plumpy than before" The excitement in his tone made her drop her head back on the pillow and she heaved out a sigh.
Noah’s fetish over her boobs never vanished. He was still addicted to them even when they weren’t like before. Pregnancy was definitely humbling her body as she started to feel the change in herself.
From her gaining a few pounds, even her breasts were turning more round and plump.
Frustrated she pushed his face away and turned away, ready to drift back to sleep, but Noah blocked her body resting her firmly between him.
"Let me sleep, Noah. I am tired" she complained when he didn’t budge but the man simply crawled over her, staring a her with a naughty glint in his eyes.
"How can you sleep after drinking me dry, babe? Don’t you think its unfair to me
Chapter 494: You scared her
Alice blinked her eyes repeatedly, with her body froze beneath him. Noah trapped her in such a way making sure her stomach was untouched while she remained caged in between his arms.
"W-what do you mean?" Baffled she finally managed to ask.
Alice understood the meaning behind his words but still acted dumb. After what she did to him last night, she knew he would come after her, but she never expected him to be this quick.
Noah watched her with sheer amusement looking through her lie and smirked, "You know what I mean darling, so..." Burying his face deep into her neck he said," Don’t play dumb and just admit it" his muffled breath brushed her making her shut her eyes at the sensation.
Alice had no room to escape after getting caught. It would be foolish of hers if she still tried to play dumb because she knew, even her body couldn’t deny his sensual touch.
With his lips slowly brushing against her skin Alice lost her mind and she agreed to him eventually giving to his mute demand.
A breathless moan left her lips and she turned her neck around, giving him proper access to devour her.
It had been days since they last did it. After her doctor restricted them from going wild, Noah had been determined to hold himself back. He would neither show nor express his desire and would silently take a cold shower to tame his raging member.
Noah didn’t want to drain her knowing how much tired she already looked after her morning sickness. He didn’t want to force her into doing something he could handle himself.
But last night was unexpected because his wife was possessed with hunger of desire and to tame her needs all she wanted was him.
It was an indirect attempt to satisfy him after such a long break and not to deny, he felt amazed. But now it was his turn to make her happy.
Nibbling the skin on her neck leaving a red mark, Noah then kissed her up, reaching her lips and clasped them together until she moaned.
Alice felt like her mind had turned muddled because his kiss was making her lose all of her senses. The feeling of his lips on hers turned her greedy and even while kissing him she desired more.
With her hand automatically circling his nape, she pulled him further into her. Parting her lips she let him slide his tongue inside her mouth allowing herself to taste him as well.
Noah and Alice had just started to warm up when suddenly the lack of oxygen left Alice breathless and in a split second she felt the same disturbing sensation swirl into her stomach.
Snapping her eyes wide open she, pushed Noah away and climbed down the bed covering her face. Stumbling to her feet, Alice ran inside the bathroom leaving Noah abandoned on the bed.
Noah still trying to process what just happened flung his in the direction Alice rushed and soon realization hit his wits.
Flipping his body, Noah climbed down the bed and ran inside the bathroom where he saw Alice wiping off her face near the sink.
"Are you alright?" he asked worriedly.
Alice watched him rush to her side with his eyes anxiously looking at her pale face.
This morning sickness of hers was so bad that it drained all the blood from her face, making her look weak instantly. Even Noah couldn’t find a way to stop this torment Alice had to go through.
The doctor said it was natural and it would eventually go, but Noah couldn’t wind up his thoughts because every time she threw up, she looked worse than before.
Alice bobbed her head in assurance, but Noah couldn’t bring himself to be convinced.
"No!.. you don’t look good" he declined to believe her because her appearance was saying something else.
Alice was baffled by his response and watched him grab her wrist before they walked out of the bathroom.
"We are going to the hospital" he declared, leaving no room for Alice to refuse.
Noah didn’t waste a second and the couple drove to the hospital.
*****
[Inside Doctor’s cabin]
"Everything is normal Mr. Wayne," the doctor said in assurance after going through a thorough check-up.
"See, that’s what I have been trying to say all this time" Alice added turning her head to her husband who still didn’t seem convinced.
Morning sickness was normal during pregnancy and since Alice was an exceptional case, her body was still trying to cope with the new development within herself.
Noah sat there with an unconventional look, raised his eyes to look at the doctor. "Then why was her face pale this time? She even looked like she was about to faint" he observed all the minute details on her face, every time she threw up.
"Her body is getting used to this development and it will take her some time to fully get used to it," the Doctor said, hoping this time she was clear enough to convince the man who kept pestering her every time something unusual happened to his wife.
She literally had to give him a few books about pregnancy just so he would read them and understand the phases a woman’s body goes through.
’But guess even that didn’t work’ she said in her mind staring at the man who remained silent as if he was still doubtful.
The doctor who was on the verge of crying silently pleaded Alice, motioning with her eyes to please convince her husband somehow.
Getting her silent plea, Alice then cleared her throat snapping the man out of his thoughts. Even with his eyes staring ahead, he seemed lost, and the reason why the doctor seemed so intimidated was his lack of response.
"We get it, doctor. Don’t we Noah" Faking a smile she tried to clear the unknown tension between them and watched Noah avert his attention at her.
"Huh! Ah.. yes," thought doubtful Noah still agreeing with Alice when he noticed the hidden meaning behind her fake smile.
After stepping out of the doctor’s cabin, the couple then walked through the corridor and stepped inside the elevator.
Since it was a private lift, the couple were alone.
"You know sometimes your silence does scare a few people around you" Alice began, making him look at her with surprise.
"Scare and that too my silence. Who gets scared in, silence" he asked.
"The people whom you silently intimidate, for example, the doctor. You literally made her cry with your silence"
"Huh?"
Chapter 495: Kick the stone a little harder
Alice shook her head at his reaction. Her husband might never agree but he didn’t carry the aura of a devil behind that handsome-looking face. Yet would put on an innocent expression as if he is clueless.
Shaking her head Alice looked at the screen in defeat and soon the elevator door opened and she walked ahead.
Alice just wanted to go home and rest, so instead of putting some sense in Noah’s mind, she thought it was better if she let him be.
Watching Alice leave him, Noah quickly increased his pace, running after her like a lost puppy.
****
Inside the moving, Alice took a nap as she felt tired because of the rush. Noah suggested she should eat something but she declined. All she had to do was to rest.
Not forcing her anymore, Noah simply drove his car when his phone rang and he answered the call.
"Noah, what’s wrong with Alice and what did the doctor say" Anna asked the moment she learned Alice was taken to the hospital.
She learned about the news from the servant who answered the call on their Master’s behalf after she failed to reach their number.
Noah pursed his lip hearing Anna on the other side and looked at Alice who was now sound asleep.
"Ah.. mom, everything is fine. It was just morning sickness. I got.. worried for nothing" After a small pause, Noah replied.
He knew his parents were more concerned about Alice’s health. There were times when she asked him to move to their family house with Alice, but he simply refused her as he didn’t want to get scolded because of his clumsiness.
But now that he thought, it wasn’t a bad idea either. His mom had been pestering him to come and stay with him and if he recalled his schedule, there was this meeting he had to personally attend because it was an important project, overseas.
Anna heaved a sigh of relief once confirmed that everything was alright and there was nothing to worry about. She was about to ask him to pass the phone to Alice but instead, Noah asked, "Ah.. mom, do you mind if I send Alice to the Wayne mansion"
"Of course dear, why do you even ask that? Even you can join her not that we can’t accept an extra suitcase of hers" she joked making Noah’s lips twitch in embarrassment.
"MOM...."
"Okay, okay jokes apart. I mean why only she, what about you? You aren’t coming?" she asked but this time a little serious.
"Well..." Noah thought for a moment before telling her about his small business trip, but he assured her he would be staying with them after that for a few days before moving back.
Alice who was sleeping woke at the sound of their talk and asked," Where are you going?" straightened herself, she looked at Noah.
Passing her a faint smile, Noah then bid his mother goodbye and ended the call. "Let’s reach home first. I will tell you everything" he said with an assuring smile leaving Alice wondering about the words she heard from him before.
*****
[ Inside their room]
"A business trip?" she asked surprisingly staring at Noah who just broke the news about his departure for two days.
"Hmm... that’s why I want you to stay with Mom and Dad until I return. It would be better if you were under their supervision" Noah said walking to her side and wrapped his arms around her securely.
It was just a day before, his assistant enlightened him about the upcoming meetings out of which, there was this particular one they needed his presence for.
Knowing the importance, Noah had to agree with him. He thought about finishing his work in less than a day and returning but he knew it was impossible. So when he recalled his mother’s words he immediately brought the topic.
Alice nodded sadly and hugged him. "I am going to miss you," she said.
It was hard for her to fall asleep at night without Noah by her side, but she also knew he couldn’t refuse his duty as the CEO. So she gladly agreed to stay at the Wayne’s House Along with Anna and Taylor for some days.
Noah smiled at her cute words that motivated him to finish his job as quickly as possible just so he could return to her in time.
As the couple stood hugging each other, Noah said," I will be back in no time" he said in assurance to her previous words and a smile crept on her lips as she relaxed in his embrace securely.

[Movie set]
Ashley as usual finished her job garnering praise from everyone once again. Jennifer who was with her smirked in jealousy as she started finding herself getting less noticed.
She was the main heroine, yet Ashely was the one who got more attention than her.
"Huh! What is so good about her acting? Even I can do that" she sneered getting insecure about Ashley’s popularity.
These few months of the shoot were like a slap on her face where she felt too little compared to Ashley. A newcomer like her turned out to be a mind-blowing actress who even left her behind with her skills.
Deep down Jennifer knew Ashley was perfect but her insecurity never let her accept it. She was still blinded by the thought of being relevant and would never let anyone trample on her fame.
As she watched Ashley step into her vanity, she smirked and entered into hers along with Mia.
Mia had been tagging her for some time now, still hiding her disguise.
As soon as they entered, she removed the black mask covering her face and breathed a sigh.
"How long do I have to be like this" she asked.
Ever since Tristan’s men came looking for her, Jennifer asked her to disguise as one of her staff members. She knew with her being around, it would be hard for them to find her.
She still needed to know why would Jennifer join hands with someone she didn’t know. For Mia, it was a critical situation because the day she first met the woman through a video call, there was something uncanny about her appearance that made her doubt her intentions.
Something was unsettling about the offer she presented to her that day. Though she wanted to decline it, Jennifer on the other hand seemed quite confident about it.
"I think Riel is doubtful about me," Mia asked shifting her thoughts from Sandra to Riel.
Jennifer was busy removing her earrings paused and turned to look at her in confusion.
"How come. I have already made it clear to the team about you. There is no way they would pay attention to someone un-important as a spot girl" Jennifer explained.
She had been careful all along and she knew no one would even try to ponder on someone like her. But then why would she say something like this?
Mia had this conflicting feeling brewing within her heart. The way Riel had been staring at her with those suspicious piercing gaze, scared her.
The man who she had always seen smiling and enjoying his work, suddenly caught an interest in her. He would smile looking at her whenever they would cross paths, but there was some dreadful in those eyes that made her shrink at his stares.
"I know, but... I do feel he is getting suspicious about me" Mia didn’t want to keep this unsettling feeling to herself, so she decided to speak up but the response she got in return made her frown.
"If you think he is interested in you then please, drop that thought from your mind. Someone as handsome as him won’t spare a glance at a skinny bone like you"
"Mind your words Jennifer" Mia snapped as she found her words too arrogant. So what if she isn’t as successful as her anymore? She still had those looks that could attract men.
Jennifer scoffed at her boldness and looked away. She seemed least bothered about her words as if they didn’t mean anything and only found them amusing enough to laugh at.
Mia felt insulted by her reaction. Jennifer was looking down at her by showing her, her place.
As she watched her resume her work, Mia felt her blood boil at her ignorance. She knew Jennifer wasn’t someone who would apologize for her words, so instead of waiting for her, she turned around and walked out of the vanity before wearing the mask.
Jennifer shrugged her shoulder lazily and continued removing her accessories.

[Outside]
Mia marched out of the set, reaching at a secluded spot away from the crowd. She wanted to vent her anger at Jennifer but she knew she couldn’t. She was bound to follow her words in exchange for the money she poured on her.
"How dare she say something like this..." she flared kicking the stone on the ground in anger.
"Tch. I think you should kick the stone a little hard" Her body froze at the sound of a familiar voice and her eyes widened in shock.
’Riel’ only one word popped into her mind and she remained rooted in her grounds.
