Ch. 121..125: Fatal Kiss Of The Vampire Chapter 121-125
Chapter 121: I Care About The Baby
Before Khloe could even finish, Ken started nodding excitedly, “Good, good. Then I’ll wait for your call!”
Khloe impatiently raised a smile on her face and waved good-bye to him. When Ken was finally gone, she spat heavily, “Shit! What a loser!” Khloe then poured out two glasses of wine and took out a small package from her pocket. In one of the glass, she poured a white powder and mixed it carefully, setting it aside. Khloe then called Aiden, “Babe, I’m at Royal Private Club, and I don’t feel so well. Can you come to pick me up?”
***
Everyone thought Ken was stupid, and he loved to play that character as well. He’d rather have people underestimate him than know the real him. He did not like working with Khloe, but she paid pretty well for wanting him to do small tasks. Ken walked over to the lobby and sat down, directly within sight of Khloe’s room.
Ordering a glass of beer, he fixed his eyes upon the door. He knew Khloe would not be in there alone for long and would probably meet someone. Ken wanted to scope out who she would be meeting, and there was a chance that he could get more money out of her. The ten thousand she had given him would not even last him a month!
***
Aiden arrived after half an hour looking like he’d rather be anywhere else than here.
“Honey, Aiden.” Khloe pulled his hand, walked him over to the sofa and sat down, leaning into his body. “Aiden? What happened? You don’t seem, okay?”
Aiden shrugged his shoulders in response; he was less and less patient with Khloe, but she was still carrying his baby after all.
Khloe continued, “Is it because you don’t have a job recently? You know that’s just a phase; people will forget everything soon, and you’ll go back to being the best male actor in the industry.”
Aiden scoffed and looked away, the fact not escaping that it was because of Khloe in the first place that he had no job right now!
Khloe lowered her head and pouted, “Aiden…you can tell me if anything else has happened. Please don’t keep it to yourself. You’re making me worried, and that’s not good for the baby. Don’t you care about your child?” Khloe asked with fake concern in her voice.
“Nonsense! I care about the baby, which is why I’m here in the first place.” Aiden scoffed and looked away. “If any other woman was carrying my baby, I would probably ask her to abort it!”
“What!? There is another woman?” Khloe cried out completely, ignoring the fact Aiden could ask her to abort the baby.
Aiden sighed and grabbed Khloe in a hug. He was so stupid; he should not have said that! However, Khloe’s whining had been getting on his nerves lately.
Khloe sobbed into Aiden’s shoulder, “I swear Aiden if you have another woman, I’m going to die. I’ll kill myself!”
Aiden sighed, “Don’t worry. There is no other woman. I’m already suffering…no, satisfied with you.” Aiden smiled slightly at what he was just about to say while wiping off Khloe’s tears.
Aiden had been having a tough time in the company and had absolutely no time to relax. On top of that, Khloe and his baby had been an added stress, which he certainly could have done without. Of course, he was a decent human being, so he was not going to abandon his unborn child no matter how annoying Khloe was.
Luckily, Khloe stopped crying and looked up at Aiden.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to cry…but you know the baby is just…” Khloe laughed and patted her flat stomach. “Here,” Khloe handed Aiden a glass of water, the same glass that she had poured the powder into.
Aiden took the glass of water; however, a knocking came from the door when he was about to drink it. Khloe, thinking it was the waiter, yelled out, “Come in.”
Ken White walked in with a red face, seeming quite drunk. He stumbled inside the room and looked at Aiden threateningly.
“Khloe, Is this my brother-in-law?”
Khloe stood up and rushed over to Ken, trying to push him out the door, “Ken, what the fuck are you doing? Get out!”
“Why?” Ken’s eyes were red, and his pupils were enlarged. He escaped Khloe’s hands and staggered towards where Aiden was sitting. “Nice to meet you, my brother-in-law. My name’s Ken White.”
Aiden looked at Ken with cold eyes. Without responding to Aiden, he growled to Khloe, “Khloe, who’s this?”
“Aiden…um…he…” Khloe stuttered out. She did not want to humiliate herself before Aiden, but she could not get away with not knowing Ken since he had already blabbed out her name.
“He…he’s Kylie’s cousin,” Khloe replied confidently, hoping Aiden would not detect the lie from her voice.
Khloe could tell from his face that Aiden hated Ken. Killing two birds with one stone, Khloe thought. Maybe Aiden would hate Kylie the same way. After all, birds of a feather flock together, right?
“Oh, really? You’re Kylie’s cousin?”
Khloe did a double-take when she heard Aiden ask Ken. He had seemed to lose his cold expression and detected a hint of warmth in his tone.
“Well, since you’re here and you’re our friend’s cousin, why don’t you join us for a drink, eh?”
Khloe was speechless, absolutely speechless. Was God playing with her?
“You’re a nice guy, I like you,” Ken slurred out and then turned to Khloe. “Hey, I like this guy.” Ken then walked over to sit beside Aiden, where Khloe had been previously sitting. Aiden handed him a beer, and both clinked their glasses and drank.
Khloe just stood by the door and watched in awe; was this actually happening? Was the loser, Ken White, actually having a drink with her boyfriend?
“Khloe, what’s your cousin’s favorite food? Why don’t you order some?” Aiden chimed. He gave the menu to Khloe and picked up a glass of water from the table.
Chapter 122: Fuck Off Your Dirty Hands On My Body
In his drunken state, Ken yanked the menu from Khloe’s hands, “That’s easy, just order some abalones, Australian lobsters or some French foie gras…”
Khloe frowned; who the hell was Ken to butt into Aiden and her relationship? She wanted to step on Ken’s foot heavily, but just her lock, her foot landed directly on Aiden’s foot.
“Ouch!” The jarring pain made Aiden loosen the glass from his grip, causing it to shatter on the ground.
“Oh, my God! Aiden, I’m so sorry.” Khloe immediately sat up and grabbed some tissues trying to absorb the water from his clothes. It was all because of this loser, Ken! If he had not appeared out of the blue, she would have been with Aiden by now!
Ken’s attention was on the menu still. He pointed at the lobster, wanting to order more, but Khloe and Aiden were absent when he looked up.
“Where are they?” Ken looked around and discovered the door of the bathroom was open. In the bathroom, Khloe was cleaning up the water stains that had accidentally sprayed on her clothing. She glared at Ken in the mirror, “You idiot! I don’t want to see you anymore! Get out of here now!”
Ken ignored what Khloe was saying as his eyes were fixated on her legs. He had never noticed Khloe’s body before. Her legs were smooth, pale, and seemed to go on for miles. Trailing his eyes up, Ken noticed Khloe was wearing a tube top, which revealed her toned stomach and belly button piercing.
“Ughh…” Ken groaned out loud; piercings had always turned him on.
“Why are you babbling?” Khloe muttered, not noticing that Ken was walking closer to her inside the bathroom. Without warning, Ken hugged Khloe’s body from behind, pushing Khloe towards the sink. Ken breathed in her scent of freesias and musk, “Hmm…Khloe, your body, smells so good…”
“What the fuck are you doing? Fuck off! Let me go!” Khloe panicked and yelled loudly, trying to shrug his firm grasp. Despite struggling vigorously, Khloe could not get out of Ken’s stubborn arms.
“Fuck your dirty hands off my body!”
Again, Khloe’s yells were ignored by Ken.
“Khloe, your body’s so soft…” Ken’s hot breath fell on Khloe’s neck. With just a layer of clothing between them, Ken’s body was on fire. It had been too long since he had fucked someone, and Khloe was too alluring for a drunk Ken.
“You’re insane! Let me go right now, and I won’t tell anyone! Otherwise, I’ll make you pay you fucker!” Khloe’s threat sounded like a mosquito’s buzz to Ken. The alcohol had taken control of his body; his lower half of the body was not in control.
Ken tightened his embrace and thrust his penis into Khloe’s ass. The feeling of rubbing up against Khloe almost made him explode right there.
“Kylie, I didn’t make it to you last time. But now I’ve got you. You won’t be able to run away this time.” Ken mumbled blearily and started to undress Khloe’s clothes.
“What the fuck are you talking about? I’m not Kylie Finch! I’m not! I’m Khloe Finch, open your Goddamn eyes!” Khloe fought back fiercely.
Khloe’s struggling just spurred Ken on more. Ken fiercely shoved Khloe against the wall, not noticing that a metal towel stand was right at Khloe’s head level.
“Ahh!” Khloe screamed as her head came into contact with the towel stand. A severe pain shot through her head, and before she could do anything else, her eyes rolled back, and she became limp.
The first thing that Khloe felt was pain, so much pain. Groaning, she brought her hand up to her head and felt wetness on the left side. Khloe flinched and started crying as she noticed the left side of her head was covered with blood.
“What the fuck do you want from me!?” Khloe yelled when she noticed Ken standing by her side at the side of the bed. “I swear I will make you fucking…” But before Kylie could finish her sentence, Ken brought his hand down on her ass, slapping her hard.
“Don’t fucking talk like that, Kylie. You’re mine now…” Ken whispered.
“I’m not Kylie!” Khloe yelled out but was quieted as another kick was directed to her stomach.
“Shut your mouth!” Ken yelled.
Khloe was in so much pain and disbelief. She could not believe that Ken was treating her this way. Was he going to kill her? No, Khloe thought, I’m not going to let this bastard get away with his. Taking a deep breath, Khloe struggled to stand up but discovered that her hands and feet were tied up.
Khloe heard laughing coming from the other side of the bed. She looked up in horror as she saw Ken undressing himself and slowly climbing on top of the bed towards her struggling body.
“Kylie, let me love you. I’ve been waiting to fuck you for so long…” Ken’s face grew nearer and nearer to Khloe until he was on top of her body.
***
Aiden was walking back from the car, where he had changed into an extra set of clothes. When he went back to Khloe’s room, he found no one inside. That’s weird, Aiden thought to himself. Where had Khloe gone? He quickly took out his cell and dialed her number, but she did not answer.
“What is she up to now?” Aiden muttered angrily.
Kylie had not left the Royal Private Club yet. She had decided to come back and wait for Faith, who had texted her that she was on her way. She decided to use the bathroom first. Leaving her stuff at the table, Kylie walked to the back of the club towards the lady’s bathroom.
When she was walking out, Kylie remembered she left her ring in the bathroom, “Oh shoot! I forgot!” She mumbled to herself and turned around to go retrieve it.
However, her path was blocked by a male figure standing in the way.
“What did you forget? I can help you find it.” A familiar voice spoke up. Kylie blanched at seeing none other than Aiden Parker standing in her way.
Chapter 123: She Had To Save Herself
“What the hell? Get out of my way!” Kylie walked forward and pushed him away, trying to sidestep him. However, Aiden did not budge.
“So what, my Uncle leaves for one day, and you can’t live without his manhood? Are you that lonely now?” Aiden grabbed Kylie’s arm and roughly pulled her into the back of the club. “If my Uncle can’t satisfy you, then let me try it!” He added in a furious tone.
“You are a stupid person! Get off your hands on my body. Bullshit!” Kylie yelled and raised her hand, wanting to slap him, but her wrist was caught by Aiden. Where the hell was everyone? Could they not hear her yelling?
“Somebody help! Help…” Kylie screamed out, but her mouth was covered by Aiden’s hand. He snatched both of Kylie’s wrists with one hand and pulled her arms high up above her head, fixating them against the wall.
Aiden was much taller than Kylie and easily overpowered her. He lowered his head and whispered in Kylie’s ear, “Don’t pretend you don’t enjoy this. If Ethan can fuck you, so can I. I think I am much better than him. Let me taste you right here,”
“Are you out of your fucking mind!? How disgusting? I realized that you are a big loser,” Kylie was more annoyed than angry. She bent her knee and shot it forward to knee him in the groin, but Aiden suspected Kylie’s move. He reacted quickly and roughly turned her around, elbowing her to keep walking towards the back rooms.
“Kylie. You weren’t that feisty before. Is it because my Uncle isn’t giving you what you want. You’re probably frustrated, right?” Aiden smirked and still insulted her severely.
“Aiden! Put me down right now, and no one has to know!” Kylie struggled with full force, but it was in vain. Aiden was not built, he was lean and fit, and Kylie had no clue where this power was coming from! Kylie’s heart started to race when she realized he had almost succeeded in bringing her inside an empty room. With one last attempt, Kylie swiftly reached out to her leg to catch the door handle.
The unexpected force pulled Aiden back, making him loosen his hold on Kylie, which gave just enough to leverage herself out of his grip. Kylie jumped forwards and grabbed a broom that was leaning against the wall.
“Aiden! Snap out of it! You’re making a mistake!” Kylie yelped and glared at him. She frowned as she noticed his eyes seemed strange– his pupils were large, and the whites of his eyes were red.
Oh crap! Is he on drugs? Kylie was shocked; she did not know Aiden took any drugs. Kylie thought hard on what to do as Aiden was approaching. Seeing no other option, Kylie drew her hand back and thrust the broom handle down in his pelvic region, trying to immobilize him. The grunt of pain emitted by Aiden told Kylie her plan had worked.
“Ohh, fuck…” Aiden groaned as he fell down on the ground. Kylie jumped over him and ran towards the door, trying to escape. Kylie did not know what it was, but something made her turn around just as she reached the door. Aiden was still on the floor, trying to get up.
“Kylie,” he groaned. “What the hell…?”
“You should be fucking thankful I did not kill you after what you did!” Kylie spat out with hatred in her voice.
“What the hell are you talking about?” Aiden stood up and leaned against the wall, looking confused.
“Oh, don’t play that game with me! You know very well what you did!” Kylie replied, inching closer towards the door in case he tried something else.
“I swear, Kylie! I don’t…I don’t remember anything! I don’t even know how I’m standing here…the last thing I remember was…I was with Khloe…I swear I don’t know…”
Kylie paused when she heard Aiden’s panicked voice. She had known Aiden for several years now and could easily tell when he was telling the truth and when he was lying. His eyes would flirt back and forth, and he would refuse to make eye contact when he lied. But now? Right now, his panicked voice, his helpless and desperate expression told Kylie he might be telling the truth.
“You really don’t know?” Kylie asked softly.
“No, Kylie…I swear…”
“You forced me into this room despite me repeatedly telling you to stop. And you threatened to…to rape me…” Kylie struggled to say the words out loud. Now that her adrenaline rush had somewhat passed, she could not fathom what had just happened to her.
Aiden was speechless, and his mouth opened and closed like a fish.
“Wh…what? No…” He sputtered out, laughing in shock. “That’s …no, and you’re lying!”
“I’m not lying, Aiden! You really said those things! And look!” Kylie rolled up her sleeves and showed him her arms where large hand-shaped bruises had taken form when Aiden had grabbed her. “You did this!”
“Kylie, I’m so fucking sorry! I…I don’t even know-how…I swear I didn’t mean to. You know me, Kylie! I would never hurt you!” Aiden cried out desperately. He started to walk closer to Kylie, which his arms leaned out as if wanting to hug her.
“Stop! Don’t come near me!” Kylie yelped and jumped back. “Don’t come near me!”
“Kylie! I’m so…” Aiden pleaded and begged, but Kylie would not hear it. She would not give Aiden the same opportunity to trap her again.
“Save it, Aiden. I’m not in the mood to fucking listen to you right now. I don’t care what you have to say. You’re lucky I have not called the cops right now and reported you!”
“Kylie!” Aiden fell on his knees. “Kylie, please believe me. I don’t know what happened! I don’t know…”
Kylie ignored him and turned around. She quickly ran out of the club and down the sidewalk. She had no clue where she was going; all she knew was that she had to get away. She had to save herself.
Chapter 124: There Is Only One Way
Chapter 124: There Is Only One Way
Kylie had no clue what time it was or where she was right now. She had kept on walking, and the surrounding scenery had slowly started to become unfamiliar. But that did not matter to her; she had just wanted to get away, get away from that horrid place. Finally, she sat down on a bench at a busy kid’s playground. School had been let out so little kids and their parents were milling about the playground having fun before they went home for the night.
Kylie’s heart ached at sight; all her life, this was exactly what she wanted, a loving family. But God had never granted her most yearned for a wish. As she watched the fun sight, tears started to roll down her cheeks, for what she experienced throughout her life at the hands of her father, step-mother, and step-sister, and what she experienced just now with Aiden.
She had no one in her life to share her experiences with, and she had no one to turn to when she felt sad and lonely. Kylie sniffed and tried to curb her tears when she saw a little girl watching her. Through her tears, she smiled at the girl who responded by running away.
“That’s right, I make everyone around me run away,” Kylie bitterly said to herself.
Feeling more alone than she had ever felt in her life, Kylie picked up her cell and dialed Ethan’s number, not caring that he might be busy. She waited, but Ethan did not pick up as his phone was turned off. Kylie scrolled through her contacts and dialed his secretary. A woman picked up on the other side.
“Hello, Parker Industries. How may I direct your call?”
“Can…can I please speak with Ethan?” Kylie’s voice wobbled as she was on the tip of a breakdown.
“Mr. Parker isn’t available now. May I know who’s calling?” The woman replied seeming, annoyed. Kylie did not know who the woman was, and she could not tell her that Ethan was her husband.
“My name is Jules Finch,” Kylie lied, knowing that Ethan will understand it was her. “Please let him know it’s an emergency and to call me back immediately.”
“Miss, I already told you that Mr. Parker is busy and will not be able to call you back today. However, I will leave a note on his desk,” the woman huffed and immediately hang up the phone without giving Kylie a chance to respond.
Kylie felt that same ache in her heart return. She knew she was being unreasonable as Ethan was busy, but she could not help but feel absolutely alone in the world. Kylie looked up at the blue sky and smiled. It was such a beautiful day, bright and sunny. What a paradox, Kylie thought. Why was the world allowed to be so beautiful when her own world was falling apart? Was God this cruel?
***
Kylie finally called a taxi after spending the whole afternoon sitting on that bench. She only got up because she had started to receive weird looks from parents. Not wanting to create a scene, Kylie decided to head home even though she was dreading it. Something so horrific had just happened to her; how could she function and do everyday tasks?
Kylie unlocked the front door quietly and tiptoed inside. Taking a quick look inside, Kylie was thankful when she did not see the chef or housekeeper inside. She ran upstairs, locked the door, and fell against it feeling absolutely drained. Her body felt weak and vulnerable as if she had just run a long marathon even though she had been sitting all afternoon.
Kylie sighed and sat down on the bed, slowly starting to take off her clothes. She was dreading looking at her body, but it had to be done. Standing in front of their full-length mirror, Kylie gasped in shock. Her upper arms and shoulders were covered in dark bruises and stood out even more against her pale skin.
There was a deep cut on her leg, which had been bleeding heavily. Kylie guessed that it was from when she had latched onto the door to stop Aiden. She lightly touched the cut, and a sharp pain shot through her leg and thigh, making her hiss in pain. There were random bruises littered here and there on her body, which surprised her as she did not think she had hurt herself that bad, physically.
Kylie went and sat down on the bed again, grabbing her cell. She felt a strong feeling bubbling in her stomach, a feeling of intense pain and longing. She wished Ethan was here right now. Kylie dialed his number again, but still, his phone was turned off. She then redialed the secretary who picked up and repeated the same greeting as before.
“Yes, please, may I speak with Mr. Parker?” Kylie changed her technique and tried to change her voice. However, the woman recognized her immediately.
“Miss, I already told you Mr. Parker is busy. Plus, he does not have anyone in his contacts listed as Jules Finch, so please stop calling. Otherwise, I’ll block this number.”
Kylie chucked her cellphone across the room, relishing the voice of it cracking against her mirror. Smiling, Kylie picked up a vase and tossed it against the glass with all her force. The broken glass shattered in front of her, and the fractured mirror almost brought a sense of peace within her. Seeing something else broken in her surroundings made her feel almost ‘normal.’
Kylie walked closer and picked up a large piece of broken glass, testing its sharpness by sliding her finger down the side. A drop of blood sprouted from her finger and trickled down, but Kylie did not care. She smiled and walked into the bathroom, turning on the tap for the bath. Yes, a nice warm bath sounded perfect right now.
Kylie felt her muscles slowly releasing from their tense position when she sat in hot water. She felt dirty and used and wanted herself to be clean from all the filth. Kylie grabbed the loofa and scrubbed hard, almost making her skin pink and raw from all the scrubbing. But no matter how much she scrubbed, the feeling of being dirty and used did not escape her body, heart, and mind. She could still feel Aiden’s hands dragging her into the room and forcing her against the wall.
How would she ever feel clean? Kylie almost cried as she tried to think of the answer to this question. Kylie looked at the piece of glass she had placed at the side of the tub. It was almost as if she had an epiphany at that moment. Of course! Of course, she knew of a way to get clean. There was only one way!
Chapter 125: Revive His Wife
Ethan was feeling tired; he had been in meetings all day. On top of that, he had not a moment to even eat lunch, so his stomach was growling. Looking at the time, he noticed it was 7 o’ clock. If he caught a flight now, he would be back home by 9 or 10 pm. He smiled at the thought of Kylie waiting for him in their bed.
Ethan admitted this seemed like a dream. He had never thought he would fall in love, let alone marry. That, too, is his nephew’s ex-girlfriend. That all changed when his eyes first fell on Kylie Finch. She was simply exquisite, her body, her deep eyes, her soul. Everything about her was perfect, and before Ethan knew it, he was falling head over heels for Kylie Finch.
That certainly did not mean their marriage was a breeze. Oh no! Keeping their relationship a secret was the hardest thing to do, especially when Ethan considered Kylie the love of his life. He wanted to take her out to eat at restaurants, take her shopping, and go out to watch movies, but they could not do anything like that all because of that damn Laurence Finch and his bitch of a daughter, Khloe.
Ethan stepped out of his office and walked towards the lobby. Everyone had gone by home by now except for his secretary, Bella, who was tidying up getting ready to leave. She was an annoying little thing, always offering Ethan this or that. He was not stupid; he could see how she threw herself at him, but Ethan could care less. He had thought of replacing her, but she was damn good at her job, so Ethan continued to ignore her advances.
“Have a night,” Ethan smiled at her.
“Good night Mr. Parker,” Bella replied, perking up immediately. She bounced up to him, fixing her shirt. Ethan noticed how she pulled her shirt down, trying to expose her neckline, but his eyes stayed on her face.
“Um…so Mr. Parker. You have not eaten at all today. I was thinking…I mean, I haven’t eaten either, so I’m sure you must be hungry…?” she rambled on.
“Thanks, but I have to get home right away,” Ethan replied sincerely and turned around. “Have a good night Bella.”
Bella’s face immediately fell, but Ethan continued on walking. He was almost out the door when he heard Bella calling him again.
“Mr. Parker?”
Ethan sighed and rolled his eyes, “What is it Bella?”
“I almost forgot to tell you. Someone named Jules Finch kept on calling you. I told her to stop calling as you were busy. Don’t worry, Mr. Parker, and I blocked her number after. She sounded like one of those pesky reporters.”
Ethan became immediately alert when Bella mentioned the name, Kylie Finch. He knew it had to be Kylie, but why was she calling his office?
“What did she say, Bella? Did she say why she was calling?” Ethan asked, trying to keep his panic at bay. It was alright, and he tried to reassure himself. Kylie probably forgot something; maybe that was why she called?
Bella hesitated when she saw that ‘Jules’ was indeed someone that Ethan knew.
“Um…Mr. Parker? Do you know her? I…I thought that…”
Ethan cut her off, “Bella, what did she say?”
Bella looked down and shuffled her feet, “Um…she said it was an emergency and for you to call her back.”
“Fuck!” Ethan swore and rushed out. Calling his driver, Ethan sat down in the back seat and took his cell phone. Of course! That was why Kylie was calling his phone. His phone was turned off! Ethan turned on his phone and noticed that indeed Kylie had sent him messages and had called him many times.
“Shit!” Ethan hurriedly called Elliot, and his housekeeper, and both did not pick up.
Ethan’s heart started pounding. Kylie was a pretty stable person, and Ethan knew she would not take the risk of calling his office if it was not extremely important. What could it be? What could be so important? Ethan prayed that everything was alright, and he was just overreacting.
***
The two hours seemed like two days for Ethan. Finally, the plane landed, and Ethan did not even bother calling Elliot to pick him up; that would take too long. Calling for a taxi, Ethan gave the address to the driver and told him to drive fast. When he reached home, Ethan noticed all the lights were off as if no one was home.
However, that theory went down the drain when Ethan noticed the front door was already unlocked. That’s weird he thought as he stepped inside.
“Kylie?” Ethan called out. His voice echoed in the seemingly empty house. Nothing seemed out of order, so Ethan ruled robbery out. Nonetheless, he grabbed his cellphone and baseball bat and crept upstairs while calling out for Kylie.
As Ethan walked upstairs, everything seemed normal; everything was as he had left it this morning. But there still remained the burning question in his mind: where was Kylie?
Ethan walked closer to his bedroom and tried opening the door and found it to be locked. He frowned, knowing that something was not right. Why was his front door unlocked while the bedroom door was locked? It did not make any sense. Thankfully, the door had one of those locks that could be opened from the outside with a key.
Ethan ran down the stairs and grabbed the key from the kitchen cabinet. His heart thudded with every step he took back up the stairs. He did not know what it was, but something just did not add up. Ethan put the key in and turned the lock, opening the door slowly in case something popped out at him.
The room was a mess. Glass was on the ground; the decoration pieces were broken on the floor. He walked closer and found Kylie’s cell in the middle of the mess.
“Kylie?” Ethan called loudly. She was nowhere in the bedroom, so Ethan quickly walked to the bathroom.
The scene that met his eyes made his heart stop. Kylie. Kylie was here. She was in the bathtub; the water was up to her breasts. Her eyes were closed. She could almost be sleeping, Ethan thought, if it was not for the water having a strange pink color to it.
No. No. No way. Ethan clambered forward towards Kylie, dropping on the ground beside her. He picked her body out of the tub and noticed that her left wrist was slashed. The cut was not deep but still seemed to be bleeding heavily.
“No. Kylie! Kylie!” Ethan cried out, trying to revive his wife, but she was knocked out cold.
What had Kylie done?
