Ch. 126..130: Fatal Kiss Of The Vampire Chapter 126-130

Chapter 126: You’re Safe, Love

Kylie’s eyes were closed, but her head was pounding; the slight beeping sound made it difficult to go to sleep, which Kylie was trying to do. She opened her eyes brightly and sat up, looking around in a confused manner. The bare white walls, the television hanging on the front wall, and the two chairs in the corner made it obvious where she was. But why was she in the hospital? Kylie could not remember the last thing she did, which landed her here for her life.

“You’re up?” Kylie heard a familiar voice from her left.

“Ethan?” Kylie looked at him as if he were a ghost. “Why…what are you doing here? Weren’t you on a business trip?”

Ethan looked dreadful; his clothes were unkempt, his hair seemed like he had been running his hands through it, and there were bags underneath his eyes.

“You don’t remember?” He asked gravely.

Kylie looked at Ethan, dumbly trying to remember what had landed her here. Suddenly, flashes of her and Aiden at the club, Aiden attacking her, sitting at the bench, all came back to her. Image after image slammed her mind rattling her to the bone. She remembered coming home and going up to her room. Kylie remembered the loneliness she had felt, and she clearly remembered walking to the bathroom. Did all of this really happen?

Kylie looking down and examined her arm. Sure enough, her wrist was bandaged, which made her realize this was all real. Tears gathered in her eyes; what had she done?

“Why?”

Kylie was startled at Ethan’s soft voice. He was watching her carefully yet sadly.

“Why did you do this?”

Kylie swallowed, thinking of a response. How did one tell her husband why she had attempted suicide?

Ethan stood up and walked closer, sitting down at the edge of the bed. He grabbed Kylie’s bandaged arm and looked at it. Kylie’s heart ached as she saw tears sliding down his face.

“Ethan,” Kylie whispered and reached forward, cradling his face in her other hand.

“Why did you do this?” Ethan asked again, looking at the bandage devastatingly. “What could be so bad that made you want to end your life?”

Kylie could not match Ethan’s stare, so she looked away, thinking hard. What could she say to him? There was no way she was telling him what Aiden did to her. She knew, without a doubt, that Ethan would murder Aiden with his own bare hands. No, she could not tell him. What could she say then?

“Um…nothing…I…” Kylie started off but stuttered when she could not think of anything to say.

“Kylie, this is nothing! You attempted…you…suicide!” Ethan stuttered. “What could be so bad that you attempted to kill yourself?!”

Kylie bristled at Ethan’s words. What could be so bad? How dare he ask her that! “Well, maybe I wouldn’t be here if you picked up your phone!” Kylie replied angrily.

Ethan scoffed but replied back softly. “Kylie, surely this must be about something else. Something much bigger than me not picking up your phone.”

Kylie looked at Ethan’s caring face. For a split second, she thought she could tell him the truth – the real reason why she laid in a hospital bed.

“I…I…” Kylie paused again, not having enough bravery to admit the truth of what really happened last night.

“Yes?” Ethan whispered, leaned forward, and kissed Kylie’s forehead. “You don’t have to be afraid. You can tell me anything, and you know that, right?”

Kylie swallowed and nodded in understanding. Taking a deep breath, Kylie closed her eyes and readied herself to tell Ethan the story.

“I…I was at the Private Club with Fanny. Um…”

“With Fannie Bass?” Ethan asked.

“Yes. She actually called me, so I went. We just hung out…I didn’t drink or anything. I left the room and went downstairs. And…and…”

“Yes? Go on, sweetheart.” Ethan encouraged her.

Kylie nodded, but she decided to omit Aiden’s name from the story. Even though he seemed calm, Kylie could sense the underlying anger in his voice as he probably guessed where this story was leading to.

“I was leaving, but someone grabbed me from the back and…” Kylie stopped talking as her emotions overtook her.

Kylie felt hands grabbing her, and a warm embrace followed. Ethan stroked her hair softly, letting Kylie cry her emotions out. After what felt like forever, Kylie managed to gather herself and pulled backward. Ethan was still patiently looking at her.

“Who grabbed you, Kylie? I know this is hard, but you need to tell me.”

“I…it was a man. He just…he just grabbed me and pulled me to the back. Ethan, I was so scared!”

Ethan grabbed her hands tightly and nodded, encouraging her to continue. “Didn’t anyone else see? Did you call for help?”

“No…I screamed…I think…but I didn’t see anyone. No one came, Ethan!” Kylie yelled loudly, almost in a panic as if she was experiencing this right now.

“I know…I know…shit Kylie.” Ethan grabbed her shoulders. “You’re safe, love. You’re safe. I’m here now.”

“I don’t know, Ethan! He tried to…he threatened to…he was going to rape me!! But…but I managed to get away. I hit him and managed to run.” Kylie finally cried out and fell into Ethan’s arms feeling drained; it was as if she had experienced this horrible situation all over again.

Kylie sat up as she felt Ethan standing up. He turned around, facing away from Kylie. His hands were clenched, knuckles turning white. Ethan’s shoulders were tense as he stood hunched near the chair. Kylie could feel a fear creeping up her; how would Ethan react? Kylie thanked God that she had not made the stupidity to say Aiden’s name even though he deserved just that.

Ethan turned around and faced Kylie. His face was red with suppressed rage; his eyes were as black as coal. Kylie could hear his heavy breaths emitting from his nose.

“Kylie…” Ethan seethed. He sighed and turned around again as if he was angry at Kylie. Her heart ached at his reaction. Was she the one to blame for this? Was she responsible for this? If only Kylie had been smart!

Chapter 127: I Want To Know The Truth

If only Kylie has yelled louder and run faster!

“Ethan…” Kylie breathed out desperately. She reached for him, but Ethan’s back was still towards Kylie.

“Ethan…, I’m sorry…” Kylie cried out, not knowing what else to say other than to apologize.

“Fuck, Kylie!” Ethan turned around and walked quickly towards Kylie, gathering her in a hug. “Why are you apologizing? None of this is your fault! None of it! Do you understand?” Ethan grabbed her shoulders and tried to convey this to Kylie.

“But…but you’re angry! You’re angry at me!” Kylie cried out.

“Fuck, no! I’m not…never could be angry at you! I’m just angry at that fucker…at myself…but never at you! We’ll get through this. We’ll get through it together.”

***

A couple of months had passed since the incident that Kylie was trying to forget. Though Ethan supported her, she was doing much better. Initially, Kylie had gone into a deep depression, due to the assault or her attempt at suicide, she did not know. However, her husband was always by her side, supporting her, spending time with her, and just being ‘there’ for Kylie.

Kylie felt Ethan blamed himself for the incident due to not picking up her calls even though Kylie repeatedly told him it was not his fault. She felt this event, though sad and hurtful as it was for Kylie, brought them much closer as a couple. They were more open towards each other, sharing their feelings honestly rather than keeping it all in.

Aiden had repeatedly called her, leaving her messages of apology. He told her he had been drugged as he had no memory of ever doing this to her. Kylie had thought about the incident over and over again, trying to analyze it from every angle. That was just something she liked to do, never letting something go; it had been her habit since she was a child.

Kylie ignored Aiden’s calls and texts, even though she would listen to and read them. He did not give up either, texting her every day. Today was such a day. Kylie was in bed, Ethan right beside her, reading “The Autobiography of Malcolm X” when her phone beeped notifying her of a text. It was from Aiden, of course, but the contents of the text made Kylie put her book down and stare at the phone in shock.

The text simply read, “I’m sorry for everything Kylie, and I know you will not listen to anything I have to say. But I think you need to know this. I had suspected this for a long time but wanted to make sure first. Did my Uncle tell you he has a fiancé? He’s engaged.”

Kylie stared at the message if it was written in a foreign language. After staring at it for a few minutes, she turned off her phone and picked up her book again.

The words seemed like they were dancing on the page, so Kylie put her book down and slid under the bed, preparing to sleep.

“Already going to sleep?” Ethan looked over and asked.

“Mm…hmm,” Kylie mumbled and turned over, facing away from Ethan. She did not want him to figure out something was wrong from her expression.

However, no matter how hard Kylie tried, she could not forget that text. Just something about Aiden telling her that made her feel as if it were true. Aiden had a lot of faults, but he was not a liar. Kylie had known him for years, and she knew that he did not lie. And why would he tell her this after knowing what he had done to her? No, Kylie knew that there was some substance to what Aiden was telling her even though she did not want to believe it.

After Ethan had turned off the lights and laid down, Kylie could not go to sleep. Her heart was pounding, and her mind was swimming with thoughts.

“Ethan?”

“Mmm?”

“Are you up?”

“Yes.”

“Can I ask you something?”

“Yeah?” Ethan turned around and faced Kylie. “What is it?”

“Were you…are you engaged? To someone else?”

Ethan’s expression stilled as she stared at Kylie with no feeling in his eyes. “Why do you ask?”

Kylie sighed and closed her eyes, “I just want the truth, Ethan. Are you engaged?”

He did not reply for a long time.

“No.”

Kylie felt like a wave of calm settled in her heart as she sighed in relief. Just like Aiden, she knew that Ethan would not lie to her.

“Why did you ask me this?” Ethan asked seriously.

“Someone mentioned it to me. That you were engaged…”

“I made up a story of a fiancée to stop my family arranging a marriage for me a couple of years ago. I’m afraid that story stuck to me even though I had forgotten about it.”

Kylie rolled her eyes, “So, you were never going to tell me this?”

Ethan smirked, “I did not know that this mattered to you this much…”

“Oh, my husband possibly having another fiancé while being married to me would not matter to me?” Kylie replied playfully.

“Your husband, hmm?” Ethan growled and crawled closer, climbing on top of Kylie. He leaned down and kissed Kylie’s lips softly. “And what would my wife do if she found out I had someone else?”

“Fuck you!” Kylie yelled angrily. “You know what I would do?” Kylie breathed out breathlessly. Talking was made difficult by Ethan’s lips, sucking her skin just under Kylie’s ear.

“I would castrate you!”

Ethan burst out laughing and rested his head on Kylie’s chest. “You would castrate me?! Really? You’re willing to have foregone sex your whole life then?”

Kylie rolled her eyes at his reasoning. Men sometimes really did think with only their ‘lower’ heads. “Well, I didn’t say that! There are other ways to have sex…”

“Like what?”

“Like…toys…and other…people…” Kylie struggled to keep her cool as she watched Ethan’s expressions switch from playful to angry.

“Fuck you! No one is going to be having sex with my wife other than me! Not even a piece of plastic!”

Chapter 128: His Surprise

“I have a surprise for you,” Ethan announces it happily to Kylie.

Kylie looked up at Ethan as she dried her hands on the hand towel. She was in the kitchen and had decided to bake a cake (just one of those days). Kylie remembered when she was little, she and her mother used to spend hours in the kitchen coming up with weird recipes they would see on television.

“What is it?” Kylie asked, and her expression was puzzled. Ethan seemed excited and seemed to be bouncing on the balls of his feet. “Where have you been all day, anyway?” Kylie looked at his disheveled appearance, his wrinkled clothes. Was that dirt on his shirt?

“Come outside!”

“Outside?” Kylie glanced out the window. It was evening now, but there had been no sun all day, and it was quite chilly; she could hear the wind whistling through the drafts.

“I’m not going outside at this time! It’s freezing! Plus, what do you want me to see? It’s dark outside!” She replied, trying to coax him to stay inside their house.

Ethan grabbed her arms and walked her towards the back veranda door. “Just come. I have to show you something.”

Kylie huffed but walked outside willingly. The cold air hit her as soon as she stepped outside the door.

“Look there,” Ethan whispered in her ear with a low, magnetic voice.

Kylie was entirely stunned as she turned her head to the side. The trees lining their back yard were connected by bright small string lights. On the string between the trees were hundreds of paper cranes hanging, swaying gently in the breeze, as if they were alive. Kylie can’t believe what she saw.

Kylie covered her mouth in surprise and joy as tears started to gather in her eyes. Ethan had been out here all day in the cold folding paper cranes for her? Kylie walked closer and saw that the paper cranes had been folded by someone who was not an expert. Kylie cherished the gesture that much more when she saw the effort Ethan had put. She can’t imagine how deep the love of this man is for her. Her husband was never filled with giving her a surprise. For a short period of time that they spent together, Ethan showed his unconditional love.

“Make a wish.” His voice was like a lamp, and it instantly lit the darkness of the cold night sky and warmed Kylie’s heart. The uneven pieces of the paper cranes filled her heart completely. Kylie turned around and stared at Ethan with so much love in her eyes. Ethan smiled and brought Kylie in his arms, twirling her around as if dancing.

“Total three thousand, three hundred twenty-five, you can make three wishes.”

Kylie held a paper crane in her hand, the most awkward of them all, and closed her eyes. Tears were glistening on her face as she wished hard. After making her wish, Kylie turned around and passionately kissed Ethan, trying to portray all the love she had for him in one kiss even though it was impossible.

“Thank you so much, love. I love you so much,” she whispered soulfully.

Ethan smiled at her and passionately kissed her back,” I love you too, love!”

Kylie was woken up by a coughing sound coming from beside her. It was Ethan; he was asleep but coughing so roughly that she turned to her side and felt his forehead.

“Shit Ethan! You’re burning!”

Ethan simply groaned in response. Kylie stood up quickly and ran downstairs to prepare some tea for Ethan and to grab the medicine.

Setting the cup on the bedside table, Kylie softly shook Ethan awake.

“Ethan? Love, you have to get up. You need medicine. You are burning with fever!”

Ethan opened his eyes blearily and tried to get up. Kylie frowned in worry when she noticed that he seemed to be so weak that he could not pull himself up. Kylie helped him settle into a seating position and brought the cup closer to his lips.

“Love, I think we should go to the hospital,” Kylie said as Ethan simply closed his eyes and rested his head against the bed. He must have gotten sick due to being out all day in the cold! Kylie felt guilty; after all, he had done all this for her. Once Ethan laid back down, Kylie went to get the thermometer and put it under his tongue.

When she saw the temperature, Kylie blanched! Ethan had an extremely high fever.

“Ethan, we have to go to the hospital. You’re burning up!”

“No…it’s okay… I’m fine…” Ethan mumbled.

“You’re not fine! We have to go, Ethan.” Kylie encouraged him to get out of bed and helped him dress. Ethan was so drained that he could not even pull a shirt on top of his clothes. Kylie helped him stand and step by step, led him downstairs and into the car. Ethan coughed violently, and as soon as he sat down, he fell asleep against the seat.

Kylie drove fast, for she had never seen him in such a state. When the car stopped at a red light, she looked over to him. His thin lips were chapped and dry, and his thick and curled eyelashes were clearly defined as they fell closed. Despite being sick and looking bedraggled, his perfect face conquered her heart.

When Kylie reached the hospital ER, she left the car and immediately called for a wheelchair and an attendant. They carefully took Ethan out of the car and into the hospital, checking him in immediately after seeing his condition. Kylie sat outside in the ER, waiting for the doctor to come out and tell her the verdict. To get her mind off of the horrible scenarios running through her head, Kylie stood up and decided to walk downstairs to the gift shop.

However, she did not expect that her younger step-sister would be there as well. The last person she wanted to see was Khloe. She avoided crossing her path with this woman.

Chapter 129: You’re Delusional

Khloe did not know who it was that had called from the hospital. All she knew was that the person had said that a member of the Parker family was in the hospital and was extremely ill. Her mind immediately turned to Aiden Parker. Without thinking through her actions, Khloe immediately rushed to the hospital. Walking inside, she urgently asked the reception about Aiden Parker.

“Parker? Yes, there’s a Parker on the third floor, Ma’am. Just go straight down the hall and take the elevator beside the gift shop to the third floor,” the receptionist pointed.

Khloe did not even listen to her completely before bolting in the direction she was pointing towards. As she passed by the gift shop; however, Khloe stopped and stared at the person she saw walking towards the door.

Kylie fucking Finch!

Khloe’s eyes sparkled with hatred, but she suppressed her rage in order not to make a scene.

“Sister, I know that you never treated me as your younger sister, but Aiden is my only love, he is my life. I beg you to give him back to me.”

Kylie frowned, raised her finger and pointed at the names on the ward board, with a mocking look.

“Please open your eyes, and I’m here for Ethan.”

The last thing that Kylie wanted was to talk to Khloe at this time, so she detoured and tried to bypass her, but Khloe caught her arm suddenly.

“Kylie, I beg you, please.”

Kylie sighed angrily, “Khloe, you should be saying this to Aiden, not me! Do not waste your time begging me. You of all people should know that he was not my style.”

“Really? You expect me to believe that? He has never even touched me since you and Ethan Parker got together!”

“So? How is that my fault? Khloe, you’re delusional! Wait!” Kylie, stunned, looked down at Khloe’s belly with shock, “Who is the baby’s father, then?”

Khloe smiled coldly, “The baby? Oh, if I really wanted a baby, I have a lot of men to pick from. But I do love Aiden, but…you! Bitch, you always attracted his attention away from me!” Khloe’s hatred in her eyes shocked and even scared Kylie.

“Khloe, what have I done? Why are you always against me?” Kylie asked Khloe desperately in a moment of frustration and anger.

Khloe giggled then, looking as if she was completely mad. “So you want to know the real reason for all this? You want to know the truth?” Khloe started laughing loudly. Her eyes flashed in anger as she spoke coldly.

“I always wondered, how could my dad leave my mom and me and go with Emily? Do you know how that feels? To be left behind by your own father?”

Kylie stood there, listening to Khloe and feeling confused. What the hell was she on about? But as Kylie talked further, she slowly started to understand. Khloe thought she and her mother had taken away the opportunity of a perfect family from her?

Khloe stepped closer to Kylie and smiled. It was an evil smile, full of hate, and revenge. “I lost my family, and now it’s your turn…to taste the feeling.”

Kylie clenched her hand into a fist, and even her shoulders began to shake. She suddenly grabbed Khloe’s arms.

“You tell me clearly, what do you mean.”

“What do I mean?” Kylie’s cold eyes were almost penetrating her.

“You are such an idiot, really. Just like your mother!”

“Don’t fucking talk about my mother.”

“And why shouldn’t I? Why shouldn’t I talk about that cunt that destroyed my family?”

Kylie gasped. She lost it. Kill her. Kill her were the only words going through her mind. How dare she insult her dead mother like this? In a fit of violent rage, Kylie rushed over and violently pushed Khloe down. People rushed over and grabbed her, trying to break her apart, but her determination could not be stopped. Kylie hit with her hands, feet, anything to hurt that evil bitch.

Khloe did not stop talking. “I am the bitch? The one expelled from school was you, the one who was hidden by the company is you, the one that Aiden abandoned is still you! I am the actress of Garcia Entertainment, the apple of Dad’ eyes, the excellent student of Film School, the savior of Aiden.”

After that, Khloe sat up quickly, and the tip of her nose almost touched the tip of Kylie’s nose. “You are the street mouse, ill-bred hooker. What qualifications do you have to compare with me? You stupid bitch.”

Kylie suddenly came to herself then and immediately stood up away from Khloe. But it was already late. She was beaten black and blue, and the most terrible thing was the blood between her legs. It contrasted brightly against the white dress she was wearing. When Khloe saw the crowd of people around them, she cried out in pain and said to Kylie desperately, “My Aiden…” She then proceeded to faint.

What the hell?

***

Khloe was sent to the emergency room. She woke up and bribed the nurse to say whatever she instructed. Therefore, Aiden, Kylie, as well as Alice, who got the news and came to the hospital hurriedly, heard the diagnosis results: emotional excitement and external violence caused her to miscarry her baby.

Kylie was standing outside Khloe’s room with a pale face. She did not know what else she could say. Khloe deserved it, but Kylie could not blame a child for her own hate. Kylie walked inside and, with all her courage, said, “I’m sorry.”

“Sorry? What use is it now? You killed my grandchild!” Alice’s eyes turned red as she spat at Kylie.

Alice knew that Khloe was not pregnant at all, but since the nurse had agreed to say whatever Khloe wanted, she pretended to be extremely hurt. Kylie was pushed against the wall by Alice, but she did not fight back.

“Stop.” Aiden walked inside the room and caught Alice’s wrist. “It was an accident.”

Seeing Aiden defend Kylie angered Alice, but she could not do anything with Aiden protecting Kylie.

“Aiden, what do you mean? Khloe miscarried because of her. Why are you protecting her?” Aiden glanced at Kylie, grabbed her hand, and walked outside the room, completely ignoring Alice.

Kylie wrenched her hands away from Aiden but continued to walk beside him. She was intrigued as to why Aiden had stood up for her. Aiden was silent for a while and then said to Kylie, “Don’t blame yourself. I didn’t want to be a father anyway.”

Chapter 130: You’re Dream Will Come True

Kylie did not want to talk with Aiden any longer on this topic, so she turned around to go back to Khloe’s room. Despite what Alice had said to her, Kylie still could not shake away her guilt at what had happened to Khloe because of her. Khloe was up and talking to Alice, and both the mother-daughter duo turned when they heard her walk in.

“Kylie, you monster, you did this to my daughter! Just look at her.” Alice arrogantly raised her chin and looked at Khloe. “Don’t worry, Khloe. Aiden is here. He said he will still marry you!”

Khloe’s eyes turned soft as she looked at her mother. “Did Aiden really say that? Will he marry me?”

Kylie could only scoff as she saw the drama playing out in front of her. All the sympathy she had for Khloe vanished. No, Alice and Khloe deserved everything that came to them, no matter how harsh it was. Kylie smiled and scoffed out loud this time.

“Don’t worry, Khloe. I’m sure your dream will come true.”

Khloe was stunned as if she did not expect Kylie to reply. She looked at Kylie with suspicion, “Kylie, what do you want to say?”

Kylie took two steps forwards and smiled. “You told me I have my mother’s genes, right?” If Khloe really thought she was the daughter of the woman who destroyed her family, then, of course, she will be the other woman to destroy her and Aiden’s relationship.

Khloe narrowed her eyes and glared at Kylie. “Don’t mess with me, Kylie. Haven’t you learned your lesson?”

“Khloe, you are my enemy. You killed my mother, destroyed my career. You are going to pay the price.” Kylie crossed her hands over her chest and looked at her with a bitter smile. “You better watch Aiden carefully, never let him out of your sight.”

Khloe’s face turned pale, and she stared at Kylie with immense hatred. But she said nothing, simply squeezed her mother’s hand.

“Kylie, don’t threaten us,” Alice said and then looked at something behind Kylie. Kylie found that odd, and if she only had turned around and looked, it would have saved Kylie a lot of trouble. “Kylie, don’t forget who supported you and backed you. Do you dare to have an affair with Aiden while being married to Ethan? I promise you will pay a heavy price.”

Her words lit a fire inside Kylie. She did not think about negating Alice. She only wanted to spite her. It was as if all her pent up anger since her childhood flooded out of Kylie at that moment. “Don’t worry, stepmother. Ethan is obsessed with me. I have the means to make him willingly do anything for me.”

As soon as she finished, Alice’s face turned into a weird smile. “Ethan, did you hear that?”

Shocked, Kylie turned around. Her body went cold when she saw the extreme chill from Ethan’s eyes. It seemed like an ice blade that cut her a thousand times.

“Ethan, when did you…”

He stepped back, and his eyes were fierce and chilly. Kylie reached out for him, but he moved out of the way.

Kylie burst into tears in an instant as she walked toward him, and stopped him from leaving, not caring that her enemies were probably relishing all this.

“Ethan, let me explain, it’s not like that.”

“Explain?” He replied icily, which made Kylie’s heart ache.

She had never seen such a cold and strange Ethan. Kylie’s heart seemed as if it were being stabbed constantly. She grabbed his sleeves as if she had seized the only life-saving straw.

“Your explanation is having an affair to make my life more interesting?”

“No, I didn’t mean that…”

“Kylie, why were you so nervous?” Kylie was interrupted by Alice’s laughter. She said gloating, “This is not the first time for you to play men. Remember when you got pregnant in high school? Your father kicked you out of the house!”

“You shut up.” Kylie turned and glared at Alice. The pregnancy test in her school bag was Khloe’s, Alice knew that very well.

Ethan, however, did not give her the opportunity to explain any further. He turned and walked out of the room. When she heard the sound of the door closing, Kylie turned around and chased him. The laughter of Khloe and Alice followed her down the hallway as she ran.

Kylie, you are such a fool. She clenched her fists and dug her fingernails into her palm. There were many ways to irritate Khloe and Alice, but she had chosen the most stupid one without any consideration. Didn’t she realize that Ethan would come over to find her? Didn’t she think about the price she would pay as she blew up in the spur of the moment? Kylie chased Ethan to the parking lot, and he obviously did not mean to stop.

When he opened the door of the car and sat inside, Kylie managed to jump inside and grabbed his clothes.

“Ethan, listen to me, it’s really not like that.”

“Kylie, don’t test my limit.” His voice was cold as he pried Kylie off him.

Kylie was rigid with nervousness and fear. The way he was speaking was cold. He was usually a person of few words, but now he was speaking but a few words.

As Kylie sat in a daze, Ethan had already started the car. She barely had time to close her door when he started driving.

Ethan was driving fast, too fast. Kylie was scared out of her wits. She held onto the handle tightly and looked at him fearfully.

“Ethan, please slow down.” She yelled at him.

He ignored her and pressed the pedal harder, going even faster than before. Kylie’s window was open. It was not cold, but the wind cut like a sharp blade on her face.

“Slow down!” She yelled again, but he ignored her once more.

Kylie looked at the dashboard. Oh, God. The speed read almost more than 150 km/h
