Chapter 386: Stop Staring At Him, He’s Mine

“Are you sure you’re going to buy this house?” Dinah swallowed and asked.

“A friend of mine in an agency introduced this house to me,” Agnes said with a smile. “This is the best house in Garbo Palace.”

“I know, but…” Dinah looked at Stephen.

There probably were many things Stephen wasn’t willing to recall in this house, and it would remind him of somebody if he lived here.

Dinah thought she and Kylie could be neighbors, but unexpectedly she moved into Kylie’s house!

Agnes thought Dinah was worried about its price, so she put on an arrogant face. “As long as you like it, money is merely nothing.”

“The layout of this house is quite good, but I think the transportation isn’t very convenient here…” Dinah wanted to reject it.

“I think it’s good,” Stephen said without hesitation.

Dinah was struck dumb for a second, because she didn’t expect Stephen would agree.

“Don’t you think it’s too far away from the city center?” She tried to persuade Stephen to give it up.

However, Stephen gave her a side glance. “Live here or not.”

“You…” All of a sudden, Dinah realized she must pretend that she didn’t get along with Stephen before Agnes, so she rolled her eyes at Stephen and pointed at the upstairs rooms. “I’ll live on the second floor, and you live on the first floor!” Seeing both of them agreed, Agnes made a call to buy the house.

When Agnes wasn’t paying attention to them, Dinah said to Stephen, “Keep Kylie’s room the same, so it’ll be convenient for her to stay here if she comes to visit us in the future.”

Stephen gave her a glance and didn’t oppose it.

He walked upstairs. It was the first time that he had ever entered Kylie’s bedroom, which was decorated in a more feminine style.

Although her personal stuff was already cleaned out, it was still obvious how she had spent her time here from the home furnishings.

Stephen closed his eyes, and sounds of passionate lovemaking he had often heard when he had stayed here the next door emerged in his mind.

He even could imagine her every smile and movement here.

Dinah stood afar, staring at him, feeling upset.

Stephen is such a faithful man. If he could fall in love with me, we might be happy together forever.

“Dinah, why are you standing here?” Agnes appeared behind her all of a sudden.

Dinah wiped the tears overflowing out of her eyes and turned to look at her. “Don’t forget your promise. Let me leave once the baby is out.”

“Of course.” Agnes raised her outstretched hands. “As long as you are willing to leave.”

In fact, Agnes planned to use money and luxurious life to hold Dinah, so that she wouldn’t be willing to leave.

Even if there was only an agreement between them, no mother was willing to leave her own child. Nevertheless, Agnes never had her own child, so she couldn’t understand it.

Dinah put on a mocking smile, then strode into the room where she had lived before. “I think this room will be my bedroom.”

Agnes was surprised and pointed to the master bedroom. “Why don’t you choose the biggest one?”

“Because I know my position well, and there will be a new hostess sooner or later.”

Seeing Dinah insisting on that, Agnes didn’t say anything further. Anyway, the two newlyweds would live in this house together from now on, and she didn’t care which room they chose to sleep in.

Nonetheless, Agnes always felt worried about Dinah’s decisions.

She rubbed the bracelet on her wrist. “Dinah, Stephen isn’t good at expressing his feelings, but I can tell he cares about you.”

Dinah smiled. “Are you sure you know him? It sounds so ridiculous because it seems I know better than you,”

When Kylie woke up, she felt the coldness from her lower body.

She tried to sit up, but a pair of big palms pressed her legs down.

“Don’t move.” Ethan’s head emerged from the middle of her legs, and there was a cotton swab in his hand. “It’s already swollen.”

“It’s all your fault!” Kylie lifted her leg and kicked his chest. “Couldn’t you think a little about our baby? You didn’t seem like a father-to-be at all when you went crazy in bed.”

Ethan helped her sit up and wore a shameless face. “I didn’t go deeper because I know I can’t hurt the little one inside you,”

Hearing that, Kylie flushed red at once.

Ethan smiled and said, “You can have a week break.” Saying it, he took over the clothes Kylie was going to wear tonight.

“A month!” Kylie bargained.

“Ten days.”

“Half a month!”

She jumped out of bed and walked to the bathroom. Ethan followed her.

“Deal.” Ethan agreed and hugged her behind, showering tiny kisses at the back of her neck. He then squeezed some toothpaste out on the toothbrush and gave it to her.

Kylie, instead, opened her mouth, waiting for his service.

Ethan raised his hand for a while, then put on a resigned smile. He held her jaw with his hand and helped her brush teeth with another hand. “Are you nervous?”

“For the event tonight, yeah.” Kylie nodded, then shook her head. “There’s some weird thought came in my mind last night, something strange seems to happen while you kiss me,”

Ethan was shocked because he knew what she means, “A weird thought? Maybe your pregnancy brings a lot of hormonal changed, you talk nonsense lately,” He looked at her with obvious affection in his eyes.

“Yeah, maybe you are right,” Kylie melted with his loving affection.

“Forget it; I will be here for you, always!.” Ethan gave her a cup of water.

Kylie gargled and looked at Ethan with surprise. “How did you know what I was saying just then?”

Ethan washed a towel to wipe her face clean.

“You know everything about me!” Kylie said with a broad smile.

“Of course, you’re my wife. Ha-ha.” Ethan laughed.

At this moment, someone knocked on the door. Ethan quickly carried Kylie, gently put her on the sofa and move to open the door.

Lucas and Faith were standing outside the door.

“We’re ready!” Faith said.

“Come in.” Ethan turned around, walking to the sofa. He took out a pair of slippers from the bedroom and placed them right in front of Kylie’s feet.

Faith was struck dumb by the scene. “Kylie, why you suddenly can’t take care of yourself once Lord Ethan is here.”

Kylie put on the slippers, and she didn’t seem to care about it. “I don’t force him to do so. He’s willing to do that himself.”

After that, she rubbed her belly and looked at the food in Faith’s hands. “Are you going to cook for me?”

“Don’t tell me you haven’t eaten in a whole day.” Faith glanced at her, then walked to the kitchen.

“I wasn’t hungry when I just woke up, but I’m starving now seeing the food in your hands.” Kylie smiled and followed her up.

“Do you want to have some vegetables?” Faith asked.

“Sure. I don’t feel like eating meat these days.” Kylie leaned against the door of the kitchen.

Faith washed the vegetables and asked her, “The assistant director just called me, and he asked for our address to pick us up, but I told him we’d be there on our own.”

“Yeah, Ethan will arrange for a car to send us there.” Kylie was very satisfied with that decision. The fewer people knew where she lived, the safer she would be.

Faith put the vegetables into the pan, then turned back to glance at Kylie. “You can wear make-up after eating, but I think you can put on some concealer on your neck first. The evidence of your intense lovemaking last night was clear,”

Kylie dashed towards the mirror in the bathroom near the kitchen.

There were two hickeys left by Ethan on her neck!

“Jesus! Ethan!” Kylie screamed, then walked out, looking for him.

When she just walked to the living room, Ethan showed up in new clothing.

He was wearing a handmade Armani suit, white shirt, and a black exquisite small bow tie. “I heard you’re screaming and called me,”

The man was too handsome to be ignored. “You! Ugh… you left two big hickeys on my neck!”

He walked towards her and kissed her lips, ignoring Lucas, who’s with them. “I love you!” He gave a pleasant smile. “I have to leave soon, I’ve got some business to do,”

Lucas could barely move his eyes away from his body.

“Stop staring at him. He’s mine!” Kylie covered Lucas’s eyes with her hands.

Chapter 387: Why Do You Sell The House?

“Even though I have the desire, I don’t have the courage,” Lucas mumbled. “Look at his build! I could be dead in his bed.”

Hearing that, Kylie waved her fist at him, and Lucas escaped into the kitchen at once.

She snorted with laughter, then ran to hug Ethan’s neck. “This handsome gentleman, where are you going for a date?”

Ethan seemed displeased. “Why did you run to me?”

“I didn’t!” Kylie’s body was hanging on him. “Relax, your son is strong enough. You didn’t knock him out last night, and it’s nothing that I just ran a little.”

Ethan’s eyes turned tender. He pinched her cheek and said, “You cunning little girl.”

Kylie got rid of his hand and kissed his angular jaw. “Tell me, where are you going?”

“To attend an event.” His voice was slow and gentle.

“Don’t you need to bring a lady with you?” Kylie asked him.

“I can bring one,” Ethan said.

Hearing that, Kylie pouted. Ethan laughed and rubbed the back of her waist. “I’m just kidding. Go have some vegetables.”

Kylie was worried and gave him several glances. He looked so charming, and she was afraid some women would make eyes at him.

When Faith walked out with a bowl of vegetables in her hands, Kylie stood up at once.

“Ethan, why don’t you have some with me?” Saying that Kylie took the bowl over.

The vegetables were mixed with salad dressing, and there was a large bowl of them.

Kylie put on a faint evil smile and loosened her hands when she walked near to Ethan.

At short notice, the bowl fell down right on the man’s pants.

Some vegetables were shaken out, and many salad dressings stained Ethan’s pants at once.

Right at that second, Kylie caught Ethan’s hands and raised them up, in case the sharp edge of the bowl would cut his fingers. Ethan, of course, didn’t miss that little movement.

He turned his big palms to hold her hands. “Are you alright?”

“I’m fine, but…” Kylie looked at his pants. “I think you better change this clothing.” In fact, she hoped he could put on some as common clothes as possible.

Ethan looked down at the stains around his pants and said, “Sure, I’ll go change.” Seeing him walking back to the bedroom, Kylie wore a happy and satisfied smile.

“Kylie.” Faith didn’t know what to say. She just trapped her own husband.

“Well, I think someone isn’t secure.” Lucas walked over, with another bowl of vegetable salad in his hands. “Kylie, you weren’t like this before.”

“The deeper she’s in love with a man, the more she cares about him,” Faith said, arguing with Lucas again.

Kylie ate the salad, feeling Lucas’s words made sense.

She had never cared how outstanding Ethan was when he had forced her to marry him. Even though he had supported her under any condition behind her back, she used to think it was something he should do.

When did she become so insecure?

Kylie hated herself being so insured just because she was pregnant now. She wanted her man to be as stunning as always.

Thinking of that, Kylie pushed the salad bowl away and stood up, walking to the bedroom.

Ethan was choosing clothes in his suitcase when Kylie reached out her hand from his back all of a sudden. “Put on this.”

Ethan’s clothes were all black, and there was no obvious difference between them.

However, there were two diamonds embedded in the cuffs of the suit chosen by Kylie.

Was it the so-called low-key luxury?

Ethan gave it a glance, which was even more attractive than the suit he just had worn. Why did she changed her mind?

“I’m sorry.” Kylie laid her hands on his chest. “I shouldn’t have doubted you. I know you won’t give any women a glance even if they’re walking naked on the street.”

“I can’t promise that,” Ethan said.

“Don’t you dare!” Kylie couldn’t remain gentle for more than three seconds.

“I don’t.” It was a very happy thing being cared about by someone, and it was even more pleasant if you were cared about by someone you loved deeply.

Ethan hugged her in his arms, rubbing the top of her head with his jaw. “I only want you.”

Kylie beamed. “No matter how many beautiful sexy women are out there, you can only be with me!”

“You’ll be late if you keep wasting time like that.” Ethan threw a wet blanket on her spirits.

Kylie checked the time and ran to change her clothes and wear makeup at once. When she finished dressing herself up, she found Ethan was still sitting on the sofa.

“Why are you still here? Shouldn’t you leave already for your business?” Kylie pulled the shawl a little up.

“Let me give you a lift.” Ethan put down the magazine and stood up.

Kylie: Why are you so mad? It’s a great house.

Dinah: I’m in Garbo Palace No. 1 right now, and Agnes bought this house as a gift to her grandson!

The smile on Kylie’s face gradually disappeared.

Chapter 388: Being Kind To Others

“The agency’s name.” Ethan gave the phone back to her.

“You must have paid a lot this time since we stay in Star’s hotel.” Kylie smiled. “I think we also have made a lot by selling the house to his mother.”

When the car just entered the meeting place, they could feel the exciting atmosphere of this grand film exhibition. Kylie couldn’t help but get nervous.

This was the first time she had ever attended an international film festival, so she was very excited as well as scared.

“Is this gown decent enough?” Kylie asked it three times.

“Super decent,” Ethan said.

“How about my neck? Is there any inappropriate mark?” Kylie stretched her neck to show Ethan.

“What’s that?” Kylie pointed to a bear on the huge poster on the wall. “The mascot?”

“That’s the mascot of this year’s film festival.” Faith smiled and explained. “It looks pretty cute.”

“Can we put one in our baby’s room ?” Kylie looked at Ethan.

“No problem,” Ethan said.

Kylie wasn’t able to calm herself down until they arrived at the entrance of the meeting place.

“Please stop here.” Kylie took another long breath.

“Don’t be nervous.” Ethan patted her shoulder. “Good luck.”

Kylie hugged and kissed Ethan to relax. “Thanks!”

Faith got out of the car first and opened the car door for Kylie.

Ethan made an encouraging hand gesture to Kylie in the car, and Kylie nodded heavily before she turned around, walking to the red carpet.

Seeing the car door closed, Lucas asked, “Lord Ethan, where are you going next? Let me drive you there.”

“No need.” Ethan’s eyes followed the beautiful gray figure moving away.

Although the assistant director put on a new casual outfit, it still looked very informal. His hair was also messy, and he even hadn’t shaved his beard.

“Hey!” Kylie walked to his back.

The assistant director turned to look at her, and he was slightly stunned, then smiled. “You’re gorgeous!”

“Thanks. Let’s go inside now!” Kylie wore an elegant smile.

Kylie and Mr. Keys stood abreast and turned to different directions for the reporters to take photos of them.

After a while, Kylie said to Director Keys in a quiet voice, “Director Keys, may I know how did you get to know me?”

Director Keys laid his hand on Kylie’s shoulder, so they seemed very close. “My friend told me to convey her thanks to you.”

“I bet you must know Sally Cooper,” Director Keys said with a smile.

Kylie came here to learn, so her seat was arranged very far behind, which was beyond the illumination range of the headlights.

Once she was seated, she sent Ethan a message.

Kylie: I just got Director Keys’ phone number! Is it super cool?

A few seconds later, Ethan replied.

Ethan: Is it because of Sally?

Kylie: How could you know everything about me? Kylie couldn’t believe it.

Ethan: I’m your man.

Kylie pulled her lips.

Kylie: I already have an appointment with Mr. Keys, and we’re going to dine together. You can go back now.

The assistant director noticed her smile and pout, so he asked with curiosity, “Who are you texting with? You made so many expressions.”

“Oh.” Kylie put her phone down at once, then smiled with slight embarrassment. “Just a friend. He asked me how everything is going nowhere.”

The assistant director rubbed his nose again and asked with a smile, “Is it, William? I heard you had a secret marriage than broke up. Don’t tell me it’s a publicity stunt.”

 

Chapter 389: Spokesperson For This Year’s film Festival

Kylie was a little surprised.

It was very uncommon that a director would ask about an actor’s personal affairs.

Although it was an abrupt question, Kylie still explained with a smile. “It’s not a publicity stunt. In fact, we…” Right at this moment, a host walked onto the stage and announced the beginning of this film festival.

The assistant director touched his nose when he found out Kylie was staring at him. “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing, I just think the actress sitting over there looks quite familiar,” Kylie said to cover her suspicion.

The assistant director looked over, following the direction which Kylie’s finger pointed to. “I don’t know her.”

“Really?” Kylie pretended to be surprised. “She probably has acted a role in a famous science fiction film.”

The assistant director looked over again, then nodded. “Probably. The lights are too dim, and I can’t see her face clearly.”

Hearing that, Kylie got nervous.

In fact, she just tested the assistant director on purpose, and she actually didn’t know the actress herself. The actress hadn’t acted a role in a famous science fiction film either!

To Kylie’s surprise, the assistant director agreed with her on whatever she said.

He has directed many films and has a thorough analysis of trends in the film industry at home and abroad. It was very strange that he failed to recognize actors with some fame.

While watching the ceremony, Kylie found that the assistant director was always touching or rubbing his nose. He almost did that once in a few minutes.

Kylie was growingly suspicious. “How’s the audience’s opinions on our film after it’s in theaters?” she asked the assistant director.

“Well…” The assistant director stopped for a second, then said to Kylie all of a sudden,

“Look, it’s about to award the Most Popular Actor.”

The more unwilling he was to answer Kylie’s question, the more suspicious Kylie was of him.

She turned to look at the stage, and there were all worldwide famous actors who went to accept the awards. One of them was absent today, so her agent took the award on behalf of her.

Although Kylie understood she was nobody at this ceremony, she still felt a little sad.

Just when the ceremony was about to end, she suddenly heard her name.

Kylie couldn’t believe her ears, and turned to ask the assistant director, “What did the host just say?”

The assistant director was also astonished. “How is it possible?”

“He just read my name, right?” Kylie asked in a quiet voice because it was too shocking to be true.

The host read her name again on the stage. However, her name was so strange to others in the meeting place that silence fell upon the audience at once afterward.

Three seconds later, some started to discuss who Kylie Finch was.

Kylie pinched her arm, and she almost cried, feeling the sharp pain.

The host just announced the shortlist of the Best New Artist award. Even though she couldn’t get the prize, it was quite an honor that she was on the shortlist.

After the host announced the four names at a time, their photos were projected on the big screen.

Kylie had still photography of her role in Dangerous World.

Once the still photography was shown, many people recognized her because Dangerous World was also popular abroad.

Kylie clenched her fists with great anxiety, waiting for the host to announce the winner.

When she raised her head, there was her confused face on the big screen.

The host said something again, and everyone laughed.

Kylie was confused. “Do-do you know each other?”

“Mr. Parker and I are old friends,” Mr. Keys said with a smile.

Kylie was struck dumb.
