Chapter 411: The Huge Offer
“Of course not!” Dinah beamed.
Agnes sneered, “Where is Kylie Finch?”
“Oh,” Dinah said, “her agent just came here to find her for a job, so they already left earlier than me.”
Agnes frowned but didn’t say anything further because she knew Kylie was very famous now, so it was highly possible that Kylie had already left from a side door.
No matter how Kylie had explained to her, Agnes believed Kylie was carrying Stephen’s baby, so she didn’t bother to hide it in front of Dinah’s face.
“I know your purpose of marrying Stephen. I won’t take the house back, but I need you to do one thing for me,” Agnes said without hesitation.
Dinah was surprised and smiled upon thinking what Kylie just had told her. “Do you really believe she’s carrying Stephen’s baby?”
“You know the answer clearly yourself.” Agnes rolled her eyes. “As long as you help me get the baby, I can give you seven million dollars as I’ve promised you.”
“Mrs. Cecil, do you know who Kylie’s husband is? Let alone her baby, it’s impossible that you can get a piece of hair of her kid.”
Dinah shook her head. “Sorry I can’t agree with that.” After that, Dinah walked away, leaving Agnes alone in confusion at the entrance.
After a while, a black private car stopped before Agnes, and the driver sounded the horn several times to attract Agnes’s attention.
After recognizing who the driver was, Agnes opened the car door with a displeased face. “Who is Kylie Finch’s husband?” she asked before she was seated.

Laurence called Kylie when she just sat in Ethan’s car.
As a father, he was the last person who got to know the news that Kylie was married, and he was upset about it.
“Kylie, why didn’t you tell me the big news?” Laurence asked.
Kylie glanced at Ethan and said with a smile, “I told you before, but you didn’t believe it.”
“How could I know whether it was real back then.” Laurence raised his voice. “Come to the company right now. I need to talk to you.”
“Right now?” Kylie pulled Ethan’s arm. “Daddy Finch wants to see me in the company.”
Ethan said, “I’ll go with you.”
“Sure, we’ll be right there,” Kylie said to Laurence on the phone before she hung up.
“Are you sure you’re going to Garcia Entertainment with me?”
“Can’t I?” Ethan’s hands were on the steering wheel, and he focused on the road ahead.
It wasn’t because Kylie was unwilling to take him to Garcia Entertainment, but he became the focus of everyone’s attention once he showed up.
A girl who came to welcome Kylie was stunned by Ethan standing still in shock.
The receptionist rushed into the bar at the fastest speed the moment she saw Ethan and squatted down to fix her make-up.
Even the cleaner, who was an old woman, came out with a broom in hand to see the chairman of Century Group.
Kylie smiled at them all the time and was protected by Ethan walking into the VIP elevator.
“Jesus, you’ve made Garcia Entertainment a zoo!” Kylie joked.
“I’m glad we don’t need to buy tickets,” Ethan said in a deep voice.
Kylie glared at him. She meant he was the rare animal that was surrounded by onlookers. However, Ethan meant he came to visit this zoo, and the staff here was animal.
“You have the gift of gab!” Kylie pinched his arm.
“I have a great wife and teacher.” Ethan wasn’t afraid to be a henpecked husband at all.
The president’s office’s door was pushed open, and Laurence sitting on the chair, raised his head. “Kylie, I… Chairman Parker!” Laurence abruptly stood up in shock.
Seeing Laurence being so nervous as well, Kylie regretted that she had taken Ethan here now. If Ethan was here, Laurence wouldn’t dare be honest with her.
Ethan glanced around the office before his sight fell on the president’s chair.
Laurence moved away at once. “Chairman Parker, please!”
Ethan shook his hand. “Don’t bother. I’m not the president here, after all.” After that, he pulled Kylie to sit on the nearby sofa for visitors.
Kylie wanted to pour a cup of coffee for Ethan but was stopped by him when she just moved. “Don’t you have something to talk about with President Laurence?”
“Oh, right.” Kylie sat back and looked at Laurence. She gave him an eye to tell him to prepare a coffee for Ethan.
Laurence received her hint and told his secretary to prepare coffees at once, and then he sat before Kylie and Ethan rubbing his hands.
He sat there like a young boy who was being taught by the old generation.
“Well… um… the thing is…” Laurence stammered.
Kylie gently knocked her leg against Ethan’s and said with an embarrassed smile, “Ethan, didn’t you tell me you have something else to deal with? You can leave now, and I’ll go back on my own later.”
Ethan looked at her with a calm face. He totally understood her meaning but had no intention to leave.
Kylie made a face at him, but he still refused to leave.
When Laurence had watched the video in which Ethan proposed to Kylie on the stage at the International Film Festival, he had burst into tears.
Although Kylie was the apple of Ethan’s eyes now, Ethan was of a much higher social status than Kylie after all.
He was worried that Ethan’s love for Kylie wouldn’t last long, and he was more concerned that Kylie would change herself just to please Ethan.
Luckily, Kylie was still as happy and slightly naughty as always, while Ethan still loved her deeply. Seeing that, Laurence was relieved.
He coughed a little, then said, “Chairman Parker, please stay, and I have something to talk with you too.” Hearing that, Ethan gave Kylie a glance, which meant he stayed for a reason. Kylie, instead, just pouted.
Laurence’s secretary walked inside a while later with several cups of coffee. She put a cup down before Laurence at first, then stepped to Ethan with her hands slightly trembling.
“Chairman Parker, please enjoy it.” She made her voice sound sexy on purpose.
Ethan overlapped his legs but suddenly moved them to another direction when the secretary walked closer. The secretary was scared by his sudden movement and turned the coffee for Kylie upside down.
“Oh, I’m so sorry!” She cleaned the table in a hurry.
Ethan said in a cold tone as usual, “Please prepare a glass of warm milk for my wife.” He always held Kylie’s shoulder with one arm. It was obvious that he was married and didn’t have any interest in other women.
The secretary flushed and gave a glance at Kylie, who was wearing a broad smile, then escaped out.
To be honest, she didn’t believe Kylie was really Ethan’s wife and thought it must be a publicity stunt, so she tried to seduce Ethan, who was a well-known super-rich heir of a powerful family.
However, she was wrong.
Chapter 412: How Is It Possible
Laurence was very satisfied with Ethan’s attitude and started to smile.
“Chairman Parker.” Laurence leaned his body forward, looking at Ethan with a serious face. “I think you already know our family very well. I’m not qualified to be Kylie’s father, but I still will do my best to protect her.”
“Dad…” When Kylie wanted to say something, Laurence stopped her by shaking his hand.
“I hope you can cherish Kylie,” Laurence said.
Ethan put down his overlapped legs and sat upright. “I promise I’ll take good care of Kylie, and I only love her during this lifetime. No matter what will happen in the future, I won’t allow anyone to separate us apart.”
Kylie stared at Ethan, who seemed more serious than ever.
This was the first time Ethan had said to Laurence in that tone.
He made a promise and also swore an oath of loyalty.
Laurence’s eyes were wet with tears. He was glad that Kylie finally found a man who understood her, loved her, and cherished her.
He smiled and lowered his head at once, then used his hand to wipe his face. “Well, you know, old people cry a lot…”
“Dad,” Kylie whimpered. She held Laurence’s hand and said with a happy smile, “Dad, you’ll always be my dad!”
“Great, good girl!” Tears fell down through Laurence’s face.
“Dad, don’t be too excited.” Kylie smiled and wiped tears off Laurence’s face. “Don’t forget you have heart disease.”
“It won’t kill me.” Laurence wiped his eyes at the same time.
All of a sudden, the sofa softened, and Kylie turned her head to look over.
Ethan already stood up and raised the cup of coffee placed in front of Laurence. “Dad, please enjoy it.”
Seeing that, Kylie was struck dumb.
Laurence also rounded his eyes in shock.
Was Lord Ethan serving him a cup of coffee? He even called him his dad? Laurence stood up at once, staring at the coffee with a smile on a face, but didn’t know what to do.
Ethan never had formally severed anyone a coffee before, and he also felt embarrassed after standing for a long while with the coffee in his hands. Kylie reminded Laurence without hesitation. “Dad, your son-in-law, is serving you the coffee. Take it now!”
“Oh, right!” Laurence got his mind back. When he just reached out his hands to take it, he drew them back and wiped on his suit several times before he took the coffee cup. “Thanks!” After that, he had a drink of it.
However, he forgot this coffee was still very hot. Therefore, he spouted the coffee out the second he drank it into his mouth.
Luckily, Ethan pulled Kylie to his back with surprising agility.
Three of them exchanged a glance, then laughed out together.
Someone knocked on the door again, and the secretary walked in with a glass of milk. This time, she put it down before Kylie with great respect. “Manager Finch, please enjoy it.”
“Thanks,” Kylie said politely.
When the secretary left the office, she still looked at Ethan and seemed unwilling to leave. Nevertheless, Ethan’s eyes were on Kylie’s body all the time.
The secretary had to give up because it was quite obvious that Kylie was his only love.
The door was closed again, and Laurence remembered the reason why he called Kylie to meet him here.
“I have something to give you.” Laurence drew out a box from the bottom of the desk.
He put it on the table, then opened it. “Here are something that once belonged to your mother. You can keep them to remember your mother.”
There are several Emily’s diplomas in the box, along with a photo and a diary.
Kylie picked up the diary at first. It was a book with a cowhide cover, but it was all blank inside. Besides, it was obvious that the front pages had been torn off.
“Dad, why is it blank?” Kylie turned the pages and asked at the same time. “Who has torn off the front pages?”
Laurence gave it a glance, then said with certainty, “This is your mother’s diary, but I’ve never seen her writing anything down on it after we got married. I really have no idea when the front pages were torn off.”
Kylie put the diary back into the box and noticed Ethan was looking at the photo. It was a black and white photo taken on a college campus. Around a dozen students stood together, and they must have attended a certain activity beforehand.
“Can you find my mother?” Kylie smiled. “She is as beautiful as me.”
However, Ethan seemed serious and compressed his thin lips in silence.
“This one!” Kylie couldn’t wait to point it out.
“This is your mother?” Ethan asked. He sounded like he couldn’t believe it.
“Yes, don’t we resemble each other?” Kylie wanted to put the photo next to her face to help Ethan see it clearly, but she rounded her eyes in shock when she saw another woman in the photo.

She abruptly raised her head and looked at Ethan. They exchanged a knowing look.
“No way…” Kylie looked at the photo again, then pointed at the woman standing by Emily’s side. “This… Is this your mother?”
“Really?” Laurence was surprised and took the photo. “Wow, Seattle is really small, and it seems you two are meant to be together.”
He gave the photo back to Kylie and said, “I’ve met the woman once before. She came to send us when Emily and I left Seattle, and she also gave us five thousand dollars.”
Five thousand dollars wasn’t much nowadays, but it was a lot back in 30 years ago.
Even though Emily and Ethan’s mother were good friends, it wasn’t an easy decision for Ethan’s mother to give Emily five thousand dollars!
They must have made a deal.
Kylie observed the woman in the photo once more. She was tall and beautiful and closely resembled Ethan’s mother, but the short hair seemed the same as Agnes’s.
On the way home, Kylie joked leaning against Ethan’s arm in the car. “I think my mother and your mother had settled a deal to marry me into your family when they were in the same college!”
Ethan, instead, said with a serious face, “My mother didn’t finish her college because she was carrying me. And Emily didn’t get pregnant until she met Michael after her graduation. It’s impossible according to the time.”
Kylie rolled her eyes. She just wanted to cheer him up because he remained silent along the way after they left Garcia Entertainment. To her surprise, he took it so seriously.
“Well, then why was your mother so generous and gave my mother five thousand dollars all of a sudden?” Kylie leaned against the car window and thought for a while. “Did my mother pay the money back to your mother?”
At short notice, Knight XV came to an abrupt halt, which scared Kylie.
She turned to look at Ethan, and Ethan seemed as shocked as her.
An idea dawned on them at the same time, and they said with one accord, “Hush money!”
Kylie took out a pencil, and the diary in a hurry then started to smear graphite on the first page.

“Then what had happened?” Kylie lost control of herself and shook Ethan’s arm with great force. “Tell me what had happened to my mother?”
“Calm down.” Ethan pressed her to his chest. “Don’t worry. I’ll find out the truth.”
Kylie leaned against Ethan’s chest, gripping his shirt. “Khloe said that my mother died because she had annoyed my mother to death. I never believed it. Please tell me the real reason why my mother died.”
Ethan patted her back to comfort her. “Tell me, what do you know, and what have you seen?”
Kylie wiped her eyes, then said, “It was the first time that I had got a prize in my primary school. My mother should take a photo with me on the stage, but she somehow was absent that day, so I ran back home with my prize halfway through…”

Memories Flashed Back
Kylie knocked on the door of her home for a long time, but nobody answered it. With the help of her thin short body, she squeezed through a gap to the yard. However, her mother was nowhere to be found.
When she finally searched for the bathroom, she found its door was locked.
She walked to the back of the house and peeked inside through a gap of the window.
Her mother’s body was hanging above the bathtub, and both of her wrists were cut, while the blood was still flowing in the bathtub.
Kylie ran out of her home in fear and great panic and encountered Laurence, who just came back to fetch documents. After that, they reported the case to the police.
Kylie was just six that year. In order not to leave a bad memory in her mind, the police didn’t let her see the scene but just told her that her mother had committed suicide.

“It has nothing to do with you.” Ethan gently rubbed her hair and asked in a tender voice, “How did Laurence explain it to you?”
“He told me his mother was suffering from postpartum depression, but it’s impossible that my mother was still in depression after giving birth to me for nearly six years!” Kylie said.
“Did you notice any unusual behaviors of your mother?” Ethan asked again.
Kylie compressed her lips, thinking for a while before she shook her head. “My mother wasn’t in a good mental condition, and I had heard her crying in dreams several times.”
Ethan tightened his arm around Kylie. “Don’t bother yourself with it any longer. We’ll figure it out by asking my mother later.”
When they were back in the Parker family’s spacious house, the dinner was ready.
Old Mr. Parker was delighted in heart seeing Ethan, but he still wore an expressionless face as usual.
Old Mrs. Parker, instead, held Kylie’s hand and asked her many questions with concern, so Kylie didn’t have the chance to ask the question.
Taylor seemed to be in a good mood, and she had gained a lot of weight after living the Parker’s villa for a while. Knowing Kylie would stay here for dinner, she told the chef to add several of Kylie’s favorite dishes.
When the dinner was over, Kylie seized the chance and walked old Mrs. Parker to her room.
“Mother, may I ask you something?” She handed over the photo.
“Of course, yes. We’re a family…” old Mrs. Parker said with a smile, but her face soon changed when she saw the photo. “Where did you get this photo?” Old Mrs. Parker frowned and seemed annoyed.
“This is my mother.” Kylie pointed at a woman in the photo. “You’ve given them five thousand dollars…”
“Nonsense!” Old Mrs. Parker stopped Kylie and threw the photo back to her. “I don’t know your mother at all!”
Kylie tried again to show old Mrs. Parker, her mother, in the photo, but old Mrs. Parker moved her head away and refused to look at it once more. “Let me say that again. I don’t know your mother at all!” Old Mrs. Parker shook her hand and chased Kylie away from her room.”You can leave now. I want to have a rest.”
“Mother, how can you…” Kylie was anxious.
Before Kylie could finish her sentence, Old Mrs. Parker pushed her outside. “Don’t ask me such a boring question again. I need to rest now!”
With a loud sound, Kylie was shut out.
At this moment, Ethan was walking towards her from a corridor. He noticed Kylie standing alone at the door, and he sped up at once. “What happened?”
Kylie sighed and said with a resigned look, “Mother said she didn’t know my mother at all and told me not to ask her that question anymore.”
Ethan frowned, then gave a glance at the tightly closed door. “Well, why don’t you go back to have a rest and leave it to me?”
“Fine, remember not to annoy mother,” Kylie said, then went back to her room.
Ethan knocked on the door before he pushed it open, walking inside.
Old Mrs. Parker thought Kylie was back, so she raised her voice in anger. “I told you I don’t know your mother, why… Ethan? What are you doing here?”
Ethan closed the door and supported old Mrs. Parker to sit down on a chair with his hands, then poured a cup of coffee for her.
Old Mrs. Parker’s hands were trembling, and she didn’t dare to meet Ethan’s eyes. “If you want to ask the same question, I only can tell you the same answer. I don’t know her!”
Ethan sat by his mother’s side and opened his mouth. “Kylie’s mother passed away when she was just six.”
Saying this, Ethan noticed old Mrs. Parker’s body stiffening all of a sudden. She gradually clenched her hands into fists.
“You know Kylie has been blaming herself for that throughout these years. She thinks she’s the reason for her mother’s death,” Ethan said in a low steady voice. “After her mother died, Laurence soon got married again, but Kylie has never lived a happy day during her childhood.”
Hearing that, old Mrs. Parker was breathing heavily with worry.
“Kylie is pregnant now, and she will be a mother. I hope I can help her solve that problem. Mother, will you help us?” Ethan held Mrs. Parker’s hand in his big palm. Her hand was so cold, and her fingers were still trembling.
“Ethan…” Old Mrs. Parker’s voice was so quiet that Ethan could barely hear it clearly. “Kylie is a good girl, and she will be a good mother too.”
“You know her mother, right?” Ethan persisted in asking the question.
Old Mrs. Parker raised her head. Her eyes were full of tears now, and her lips trembled a little. When she was about to say something, old Mr. Parker pushed the door open and walked inside. “I haven’t played chess for a long time. Why don’t you play it with me?”
Old Mrs. Parker composed herself and said to Ethan with a smile, “Come on, play chess with your father!”

“He deserves it!” old Mr. Parker snorted. “He made his own son a scapegoat for what he has done. I already turned a blind eye on her inappropriate behaviors in the company, but I couldn’t tolerate that he’s illegally transferred the assets of the company!”
Ethan remained calm. “Where is Nicole? I think it isn’t easy for her to accept so many shocking things which have happened to our family.”
Old Mrs. Parker replied in a hurry, “She was annoyed that you married Kylie and has transferred to a school abroad. It’s not a bad thing, because she hasn’t heard of the shocking news yet.”
“Nobody can change the fact that Kylie is my daughter-in-law now!” old Mr. Parker said.
“Ha-ha, I think you just want to be a grandfather.” Old Mrs. Parker smiled.
“Don’t you want to be a grandmother?” Old Mr. Parker held Mrs. Parker’s hand and said with a smile, “Don’t compete against me to hug the baby!”
There was a faint smile on Ethan’s lips. “You don’t need to compete. Kylie is carrying twins, and each of you can hug a baby then.”
Knowing that old Mrs. Parker’s face changed, she gripped her sleeves.
Ethan noticed his mother’s unusual reaction but didn’t say a word.
It’s good news, but why does mother look so in pain?
Before long, old Mr. Parker also noticed the absent look on old Mrs. Parker’s face. He stood up and said, “Alright, I think it’s enough for today, and your mother needs a rest now.”
Ethan stood up as well. “Sure, have a good rest, mother.” He turned around, walking away. When he closed the door, he saw old Mrs. Parker looking at him by accident. It seemed she had something to tell him.

Kylie thought for a while, then realized a lot. Based on what Ethan and Stephen had told her, old Mrs. Parker must have been trapped by her biological older sister, and she had escaped afterward from the Cecil family’s house carrying her brother-in-law’s baby.
Old Mr. Parker knew Ethan wasn’t his biological son, but he didn’t know who Ethan’s biological father was either.

The next day, she used an excuse to have a walk outside and took old Mrs. Parker out of the spacious house.
“I know you won’t give it up,” old Mrs. Parker said to Kylie when they walked into a nearby park.
Kylie held Mrs. Parker’s arm and smiled. “I understand you want to protect Ethan, so am I, which is the reason why I hope we can talk outside.”
Old Mrs. Parker frowned. “What do you mean?”
“I also want to keep it what you’ve been keeping a secret from Ethan,” Kylie said. “Ethan has an unhappy childhood, so I want him to live his rest life in happiness, and forget those unpleasant memories.”

“Did Adolph kill my mother? Did he force my mother to tell him where you were?” Kylie asked.
Old Mrs. Parker shook her head. “I don’t know…”

She showed it off right in front of Barbara’s face that she was the real Mrs. Cecil. She even showed Barbara the wedding ring on her finger, which was chosen by Barbara.
“I told you the person Adolph is in love with is me, but you refused to believe it. And besides, if he knew the dark secret that our family has, would you think he will accept a woman who carried the blood of a vampire? Will he still accept you?” Agnes raised her jaw with arrogance.
Barbara’s eyes turned to gold, and she transformed into her real form, choking “Impossible! Impossible!” Barbara roared in anger with her last full strength and escaped from the metal changed.
” Are… are you going to kill your twin sister? Let… let me go! Don’t you believe it? Go ask him yourself.” Agnes pointed at the open door and let Barbara go. Walking towards the door, she returned to her human form and looked for Adolph.
Nevertheless, Adolph wouldn’t listen to her explanation and carried her into the bedroom on his back without hesitation. Barbara had passed out under his violent move and been woken up again in torture.
What hurts Barbara more was that Adolph kept yelling at her, saying she was the betrayer during the cruel sex. It had happened many times in the following days, and Barbara discovered she was pregnant after the repeated torture. She has a strange feeling that her baby would inherit her true nature as time goes by.
Right at the same time, Emily discovered her when Emily came to visit the Cecil family.
However, it was impossible that Emily alone was able to help her out.
Emily told Barbara to pretend to compromise herself, and she would find someone to rescue her later. Emily kept her promise. One night a week later, a thief got into the Cecil family’s house all of a sudden, and Barbara escaped with the help of the mess.
Barbara knew it clearly that Adolph would never let her get away with it. If he caught the thief, Emily would be exposed.
Therefore, she took out five thousand dollars from her savings and told Emily to hide away for a while with the money.
“I met old Mr. Parker afterward. He didn’t mind what I’ve been through and accepted us as a family.” Barbara felt quite relieved after telling Kylie the story, which had burdened her for a long time, but she didn’t tell Kylie that Ethan was a hybrid alpha-vampire, “I don’t want Ethan to know that, because I know he’ll pay Adolph back once he finds it out. They are biological father and son, after all. It’s totally unacceptable if he beats or even hurt his own father.”
Kylie gently wiped tears off Barbara’s face. “Don’t worry. I’ll keep it a secret, Mom. I love him so much,”
“Kylie, you’re a good girl. Ethan is so blessed that he met you. I hope one day, if you knew his secret, you will still love my son. Ethan had suffered so much since his younger days, and I wasn’t able to protect him back then,” Barbara held Kylie’s hand with obvious appreciation in her eyes.
Kylie wore a wry smile. ” Whatever the remaining secret my husband has, I will surely embrace it and definitely, love him in this lifetime. I just hope he can be happy in his rest of life.”

When Kylie was just back in the Finch’s family’s house, Ethan called her. “Dora is home, and we’ll share dinner together tonight.”
“Sure!” Kylie answered with enthusiasm.
“What did mother say to you?” Ethan heard the delight in her voice.
“Nothing important. She just told me something about my mother and her when they were in school. I think they have nothing to do with my mother’s death,” Kylie said.
“Nothing else?” Ethan asked with doubt, and his eyes showed some worries.
“What else do you think mother would tell me?” Kylie avoided his question.
“Well, forget it. I’ll pick you up later,” Ethan said, then hung up.
Kylie checked those things which once belonged to her mother again before she locked the box and put it away in a closet.
An hour later, Kylie finished changing and heard the horn sound of a car from the outside.
She stuck her head out of the window and saw a black Rolls-Royce stopped at the gate.
The car window was slowly rolled down, and Ethan’s handsome face showed.
“I’m coming!” Kylie shouted, then ran downstairs like a butterfly.
Lucy was cleaning the living hall and was scared by Kylie’s quick movement. “Mrs. Parker, be careful!”
“I’m fine, Lucy,” Kylie said and disappeared in Lucy’s sight.
Ethan pulled her to his chest the moment Kylie got in. He smoothed her hair with a tender smile. “Are you in a perfect mood?”
“Not bad.” She leaned against his chest with their fingers entwined. “Do you need to arrange accommodations for her?”
Ethan compressed his thin lips and said lightly, “She has a place to live.”
“That house?” Kylie looked at him. “I think it’ll remind her everything about you if she lives alone there.”
“So?” Ethan asked.
“Why don’t you let her see you every day? Once she gets used to it, she won’t cherish you like you’re a treasure.”
Hearing that, Ethan pinched her nose as a way of punishing her.
“I mean, really, she thinks you’re perfect, but she’ll find many of your shortcomings once she lives together with you over time…” Kylie’s nose was pinched again, and she beamed. “Well, at least she’ll accept the fact that we’re a married couple.”
“We can let her make the decision herself,” Ethan said, then told Elliot to drive the car.

Kylie saw many people the second she pushed the door open.
Nate, Fannie, and Dinah were playing cards, while Stephen and Dora were enjoying high-end coffee. At the front of a big screen, a familiar back devoted himself to singing a love song.
“William!” Kylie shouted at his back. “Stop it right now. I have goosebumps.”
William turned around and ran to Kylie at once. “Ha-ha, been a while! How is the baby?” Right, when William reached out his hand, trying to rub Kylie’s belly,
Ethan gave him a cold glance. William moved his hand away at once and scratched his head.
“Nice to see you, Uncle Ethan!” William greeted him.
“Kylie, SOS!” Dinah said. “I’ve been losing all the time.”
Nate and Fannie smiled at each other, then hit the desk. “Come on, and all Stephen has is money!”
Dora stood up from the sofa. She glanced at Ethan’s hand, which was pulling Kylie’s with their fingers entwined before she met his eyes. “Hi, Ethan.”
Ethan nodded. “Have a seat.”
They gathered together around the dining table. Ethan ordered several dishes that were Kylie’s favorites, then gave the menu to others.
“Guys, you must try deep-fried butter!” Dinah said at first.
“It’s too greasy. Kylie can’t eat that.” Stephen disagreed.
“Why? I’m your wife. Couldn’t I order something I like?” Dinah was displeased.
“You’re not pregnant anyway. Pregnant women first.” Stephen didn’t bother to glance at her and ordered several nutritious dishes with light favor.
After that, he gave Nate the menu.
Nate wore an evil smile and patted Dinah’s belly. “Try harder, and you can eat whatever you want.”
Dinah snorted, “Not my problem, but his!”
Stephen abruptly turned to look at her with anger in his eyes, but the bottom of his ears turned red.
Fannie approached Nate and said by his ear, “Look, Stephen flushed!”
Hearing that, their eyes all fell on Stephen’s face, and Stephen flushed redder. He moved his sight away to look at Kylie. Kylie, instead, was chatting with Ethan in a low voice all the time, and she didn’t give them a glance at all.
Stephen felt a little upset and sipped his wine.
Dora sat there alone. She wanted to join them laughing, but failed to do so. When the menu was in her hands, she just ordered Ethan’s favorite dish before she gave it back to the waiter.
When dishes were all placed on the table, Nate stood up and said, “Come on, my friends, raise your glasses, and let’s have a toast to congratulate Dora’s rebirth!”
