Ch. 421..425: Fatal Kiss Of The Vampire Chapter 421-425
Chapter 421: I Don’t Allow You To Die
“Mom, it won’t threaten your life if you donate some blood in the hospital.” Nate held his mother’s hand. “Please, just a little of your blood, and it can save Fannie’s life!”
Mrs. Bass was displeased, and there was a sneer on her lips. “What? You start to care about Fannie now?”
“No, I don’t!” Nate denied it at once and seemed determined. “Once she’s cured, I’ll arrange a marriage for her. I promise I won’t contact her again the moment she’s married.”
“What if she contacts you?” Mrs. Bass asked with a calm face.
“I-I can get married too, and I can move abroad!” Nate clenched his teeth and made a hard decision. “Mom, as long as you’re willing to save her life, I can do whatever you want me to do.”
Mrs. Bass, however, got rid of Nate’s hand and turned to sit by the bedside. “You care about her so much right now. Are you still willing to see me use her blood to extend my life in the future?”
Nate felt cornered and said, “Mom, if Fannie can’t survive today, you won’t see your son again!” After that, he slammed the door and left.
Hearing that, Mrs. Bass frowned. She wanted to stop Nate, but he already disappeared from her sight, and she heard the car engine roaring away.
The Knight XV had an abrupt halt and stopped by the road.
Annie’s smiling face kept flashing by his eyes, and the last question Fannie had asked him sounded again by his ears.
Do you like me?
Yes. Yes, I do!
He and Fannie grew up together, and he even had promised to marry Fannie in the future when they were just kids.
However, as time went by, he found out Fannie wasn’t just an adopted kid in his family but was also his mother’s moving blood bag.
During the past years, Nate had taken great care of his mother and protected her from doing any dangerous things to avoid the recurrence of his mother’s hemophilia.
It was a very strange life-threatening genetic disease. If the person who suffered from that disease had a wound on his or her body, he or she would lose three times more blood than ordinary people within a short time.
When his mother found out Fannie’s mother had the same blood type as she, his mother kept Fannie’s mother by her side and regularly drew off her blood for storage.
His mother had prepared for three whole years before getting pregnant.
Even though his mother still had risked her life to give birth to him.
Nate didn’t know his mother’s health condition when he was very young and insisted his mother should go climb a mountain with him once.
Unexpectedly, they encountered a landslide, and his mother was damaged by a stone, and her leg kept bleeding.
At that time, Fannie was only seven years old, and her mother laid down her precious life for his mother.
When Nate raised his head again, his eyes were bloodshot.
“It’s all my fault! All my fault!” Nate slapped himself twice. “If I can’t save your life today, I’ll die with you!” Saying that he took out his phone and called an illegal blood bank. “Do you have Rh-negative trait blood? I don’t care about its price.”
“How much do you need? We can contact you later once we get some,” a man said with a smile on the phone.
“I need it right now! Give me as much as you can provide!” Nate yelled at him.
“It’s very rare blood. I’m afraid we can’t provide you right away even though you offer a sky-high price,” the man said. “Why don’t you leave us a number and we’ll contact you once we get some.”
Hearing that, Nate said a dirty word, then hung it up.
A while later, his phone rang again. Nate answered it and swore again. “F*ck off, if you can’t provide the blood for me right now!”
“Nate?” Mrs. Bass’s voice sounded on the phone.
“Mom…” Nate was surprised.
“Come back and pick me up. Let’s go visit Fannie,” Mrs. Bass said.
“Mom,” Nate whimpered. “Sure, I’ll be right back home!”
He started the car again with a broad smile on the face and left for his home without delay. He even didn’t realize that tears were flowing down from his cheeks.
Fannie, hang on there for a while longer. I’m coming to save your life!
Mrs. Bass was waiting for him at the gate, and she wiped her beloved son’s eyes once she got in the car. “Tell me, are you in love with Fannie?”
“I…” Nate stammered.
“If you don’t love Fannie, she’s just a tool to extend my life in our family,” Mrs. Bass said with a serious face. “If you love her, she might be my daughter-in-law, which is totally different. Think about it twice before you tell me your answer.”
Hearing that, Nate nodded without hesitation. “Mom, I love her. I love her! I want to marry her!”
Mrs. Bass smiled. “Let’s go now.”
Nate started the car once more and sped up as fast as possible when it was steady.
This time, Nate was thrilled because he could save Fannie’s life and finally confess his love to her.
However, when he ran into the emergency room, the tense atmosphere upset him.
“Where did you go?” Dinah caught Nate’s collar and shouted in anger.
“I went to find blood…” Nate got rid of her hands and pointed at his mother, who was walking slowly to them. “I brought my mother here. She has the same blood type as Fannie. We can save Fannie’s life now.”
Kylie stood up at this moment and walked to Nate’s side. She laid her hand on Nate’s shoulder and said, “It’s too late. I’m sorry, Nate.”
Nate’s body trembled in fear all of a sudden. “No, no, Fannie is fine! We can save her life now.” Nate almost threw Kylie to the ground, and Ethan supported her at once.
“Don’t vent your anger at Kylie,” Ethan said and gave him a cold glance. Nate turned to look at Stephen. Stephen was an ace doctor, and Stephen wouldn’t lie to his face.
“Stephen, tell me, we can save Fannie’s life now with the blood, right?”
Stephen didn’t answer his question, but said, “If I were you, I would walk inside to see her face for the last time.”
Nate couldn’t believe his ears. Is Fannie dead?
He refused to believe it.
“Nate, don’t blame yourself for that. It’s not your fault…” Mrs. Bass walked over but was pushed away by Nate.
“Don’t touch me!” Nate yelled at his mother, then ran into the operating room.
The stinky smell of blood invaded his nose.
The surgical lights were already off, and there was blood everywhere. The blood-stained blue sheet had a bulge, and Fannie’s pale and weak hand was bare in the air at one side.
“Fannie?” Nate stumbled over and held Fannie’s cold hand with his trembling hand.
He raised a smile and said, “Fannie, I’m here now.”
The operating room was so quiet that it was even a little scary.
Nate remained silent for a few seconds, then summoned up his courage to uncover the operating table.
Fannie lay in peace, and she seemed to be in a deep sleep, but her unusually pale face told the heartbreaking truth. Nate gently touched her cheek with his fingers, and mumbled, “Fannie, didn’t you say you’ll listen to me in the rest of your life? I don’t allow you to die now. Open your eyes, please…”
Chapter 422: Dead Game
Large drops of tear fell on Fannie’s forehead, eyes and lips.
Nate closed his eyes and cried, hugging Fannie’s body in his arm.
“I don’t allow you to die now! Open your eyes!”
“Can you hear me? I went to beg the mother for the blood to save your life. Couldn’t you wait for me for a while longer? Why!”
“Fannie, open your eyes now. As long as you can open your eyes now, I promise I won’t force you to get married, and I won’t force you to go on blind dates either…” Nate wiped his nose on the sheet, then raised his head to look at Fannie.
Tears kept falling down from his eyes, but he still raised a smile. “Didn’t you ask me whether I like you? Let me tell you now. I love you.”
“Fannie, you’re scaring me now. Please stop playing the ‘I’m dead’ game.” Nate said to himself and didn’t notice that everyone was standing around him in the operating room now.
“It’s said that a person still can hear other people’s talking when he or she just passed away because his or her soul is unwilling to leave right away.” Kylie held Ethan’s arm, saying to Nate. “Nate, if you have anything that you want to tell Fannie, tell her now.”
Nate turned to look at her and said with doubt, “Can I tell her to wake up?”
Dinah rolled her eyes. “She lost all her blood. I don’t think it’s possible.”
Nate seemed extremely sad and moved back to stare at Fannie. “I just have the feeling that she’s still alive.”
Kylie exchanged a glance with Dinah, then said, “Nate, I understand you’re reluctant to accept it, but Fannie already left us.”
“You weren’t here when she closed her eyes, and she must be very sad. I think you better seize this chance now to tell her whatever you want her to know,” Dinah said.
Hearing that, Nate licked his lips and hesitated.
He found it very difficult to say it aloud.
Stephen interrupted at this time and said to Mrs. Bass, “Fannie is still unmarried. Mrs. Bass, where should we place her grave?”
Although Fannie was adopted by the Bass family, she couldn’t be buried in their graveyard. If her grave was placed somewhere else, she would be alone there.
Mrs. Bass thought for a while, then said, “Fannie is my adopted daughter after all, and I can’t see her lying on the ground alone. I think we can bury her in another family’s graveyard…”
“No!” Nate opposed at once. “I can’t see Fannie lying in the ground with a stranger. She’s a member of our family!”
“So? What do you want to do?” Kylie asked.
“I…” Nate licked his lips. “No matter what, we can’t bury Fannie alone, nor in another family’s graveyard.”
“Tell us your idea then.” Ethan pulled Kylie to his arms and stared straight at Nate.
Nate wasn’t afraid of anyone, but he didn’t dare to meet Ethan’s eyes.
He looked around for a while, then turned to Mrs. Bass. “Can we bury Fannie in our family’s graveyard? W-we can say she’s my wife. She already passed away, and it won’t affect my future marriage.”
“Seriously?” Dinah was annoyed. “Fannie is your younger sister!”
“She’s not my biological younger sister anyway!” Nate argued.
“I don’t think it’s a good idea.” Kylie also disagreed with it. “You can’t bury a girl who isn’t married to you in your family’s graveyard.”
“You don’t like her after all, and you can’t force her to be your wife after she’s dead.”
“Who says I dislike her?” Nate blurted it out. “Let alone she’s dead now, I already told her I like her when she was alive.”
“I even promised to marry her when we were just kids, and I only love her in my life!”
“I feel so sorry for Fannie now,” Kylie said to Dinah.
“Why?” Dinah asked with a serious face.
“Fannie only loves Nate during this lifetime, but Nate…” Kylie stopped and looked at Nate. “Who knows how many wives you’re going to have.”
“I agree!” Dinah said. “Nate, don’t fool us here. Fannie is already dead, and you can say whatever you want. You can also marry as many girls as you want in the future.”
Nate was in a rage and pointed at Dinah’s nose. “I’m not joking or lying! I really love Fannie.”
“Then why did you force her to get married?” Kylie asked.
“I just wanted to see whether she likes me,” Nate said. “Since you love her, why didn’t you tell her?” Dinah questioned.
“I did tell her, but she wouldn’t listen! Instead, she drove away alone!” Nate said, then raised his head up, looking into the air, like Fannie’s soul was floating there. “Fannie, I love you. Can you hear me? I love you.”
“My mother’s body isn’t in good condition, and my father died young. I can’t leave my mother alone now.” Nate gave his mother a glance, then added, “Fannie, don’t worry. My mother won’t live longer than me. Once she passes away, I’ll kill myself to see you!”
“Nate!” Mrs. Bass was mad and wanted to hit him, but was pulled back by Stephen.
Afterward, they walked out of the operating room one by one.
“Mom. Ethan? Hey, why are you all leaving? I’m not joking…” Nate didn’t finish his sentence and felt something wasn’t right.
He turned his head back at a slow pace and saw Fannie smiling at him just a centimeter away.
“Did you mean every word you just said?” Fannie’s voice was so light and sounded like a ghost. “Do you really love me?”
Nate nodded with a serious face and touched Fannie’s face. “Kylie is right. Your soul stays. I only love you…”
Right at this moment, Fannie beamed all of a sudden, and fresh blood flew out from the corner of her lips.
Nate was scared and ran outside at once. “Help! Help! Dead Fannie talks!”
Chapter 423: You Want To Live With A Ghost?
Nate was stumbled down by something.
He sat on the ground, moving backward, staring at Fannie, who was stepping to him. “Fannie, please stay there. You’re scaring me now.”
Fannie stopped at once and wiped the blood off the corner of her lips. “You’ll go to hell if you lie to a ghost.”
“I’m not lying.” Nate moved backward again. “I really like you, but…”
“But what?” Fannie looked down at him, and she glared at him this time.
“You’re a ghost now, but I’m a human being. Our relationship will lead us to nowhere!” Nate swallowed and raised an ugly smile. “You don’t have your flesh body now, and we even can’t have sex with each other.”
Hearing that, Fannie snorted and made a step forward all of a sudden, which frightened Nate to death.
“Beauty comes from a respectful distance! You can just stand there and talk to me.” Nate pointed at the bottom of Fannie’s feet.
Fannie slowly raised her foot again, and Nate seemed really terrified. When Fannie put her foot back to its previous place, Nate relaxed a little.
Fannie sneered, “Haven’t you heard many beautiful romantic stories between ghosts and human beings? Isn’t it fascinating to have a romantic relationship with two different people?”
Nate was struck dumb for a second and couldn’t believe his ears. “Beautiful romantic stories between ghosts and human beings?”
“Anyway, I left the hell for a while for you. What do you plan to do next?” Fannie said.
“Can you go back to hell again?” Nate asked with curiosity.
“What? You change your mind?” Fannie raised her voice, then realized she shouldn’t say it so loudly like a normal human being, so she lowered her voice again. “You said you want to marry me, so I left the hell to find you.”
“No, no.” Nate moved backward for a few steps in fear, and his back was against the wall now. “I just need to wait until my mother passes away so that I can kill myself to meet you. This is a clear promise, will you believe me?”
Fannie squatted and forced Nate to meet her eyes. “Do you mean I still have to stay alone for the following years? Do you know how lonely I feel in hell? Do you know how I wanted to come back to life and be with you, to love you, and to feel your body?”
Dinah and Kylie were eavesdropping on the door of the operating room.
Seeing Fannie dedicating herself to it, they exchanged a glance and almost laughed out loud.
“Kylie, I think Fannie can be an actress,” Dinah said.
“I agree. She even knows how to do the improvisational performance!” Kylie said. “I like her acting.”
Mrs. Bass asked Stephen in a low voice, “Where did you get the blood? It looks so real.”
“Mrs. Bass, Kylie is an actress, and those are just props,” Stephen explained with a smile.
Ethan pulled Kylie to sit down on a nearby bench. “You’ve stood for a whole day. Come here and have a rest.”
“I’m fine.” Kylie still wanted to eavesdrop because it was so exciting.
However, Ethan pressed her down on the bench with force. “Rest for a while!”
“I’m not tired.” Kylie struggled. “I’m curious about what they’re doing now.”
“Let them do whatever they want to do.” Ethan sat by her side and put her legs on his, then gently massaged her legs.
Kylie didn’t feel tired at all, but she soon enjoyed it when Ethan’s palms massaged her legs.
She had run around to borrow equipment during the past five hours, which was much more tiring than a whole day of shooting.
Kylie felt so comfortable and closed her eyes. Ethan smiled and let her rest on the bench.
Seeing that, Mrs. Bass lightly pulled Stephen’s sleeve. “Look at that loving couple.”
Stephen turned to give them a glance, then moved his eyes away.
Hearing Mrs. Bass’s voice, Dinah also turned around and glanced at them, then she walked to Mrs. Bass’s side. “Mrs. Bass, you think they’re a loving couple because Ethan isn’t your son. What if Nate is massaging Fannie? Will you still be happy to see it?”
The smile disappeared on Mrs. Bass’s face in an instant. “Nate never treats me so well like that.”
Dinah shrugged. Probably that was the so-called troublesome relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law.
It wasn’t easy for a man to be a good son and husband at the same time in the family.
Dinah knocked her shoulder against Stephen’s. “My back and waist are sore today as well…” Saying that, she even stretched her arms.
Stephen gave her a glance and threw a card to her.
“What is this?” Dinah looked at it, then asked, “You want me to go to have a massage myself?” Dinah was displeased.
“Go or not.” Stephen didn’t bother to say more words, then sat across Kylie and Ethan at another bench.
Dinah put the card into her pocket, then went back to eavesdrop at the outside of the operating room.
Fannie was crying while talking.
In normal days, Nate’s heart would ache for her, but now it was very different.
When Fannie cried, there was fresh blood coming out from the corners of her eyes, and she wiped her face once in a while, so her face looked bloody.
“Fannie, would you please stop crying?” Nate comforted her. “If you don’t want to go back to hell right now. I can find a place for you in our home, and we can live together as usual.”
Fannie looked at him and took a breath in. “You want to live with a ghost? Aren’t you scared of me?” “I am,” Nate nodded at once, “but it’ll be fine if you clean your face up.”
The moment Nate finished his sentence, Fannie ran to his arms.
She kissed him without hesitation.
Nate wanted to escape because nobody could stand a face covered in blood.
However, Fannie wouldn’t let him go, and he gave it up at the end.
Chapter 424: It Would Be Exposed
It was the first time that he had ever kissed a ghost, and the kiss tasted a little bitter.
“F-Fannie…” Nate said while they took a break to breathe. “Don’t you think it’s a little nasty?”
“I don’t care.” Fannie bit his lips.
Nate hugged Fannie, and his hands slid down through her back. This was the first time he had been so close to her.
He had to admit that he was aroused.
Fannie undressed Nate within seconds and abruptly tore his shirt.
Although Nate wasn’t as muscular as Ethan, and he seldom exercised ever since he had been involved in the business, there were still clear lines of muscles on his body.
“How is it? Are you satisfied?” Nate smiled and pressed Fannie down his body. Just when his big palm was about to slide inside, Fannie stopped him. “Don’t touch me.”
Nate was surprised. “Why?”
“Not right now.” Fannie pushed him away.
In order to create the cold air of a dead body, she had tied two ice bags around her. If Nate’s hand went into her clothing, it would be exposed!
“I’m a ghost, and it took awhile for you to be used to it!” Fannie lied.
Nate scratched his head and thought it was reasonable. Anyway, she allowed him to get on her, and he just needed to wait for a while.
After a while, Nate lost patience and kissed her again. At the same time, he unfastened his belt.
Fannie coughed a little, which was a sign for Dinah, who was at the outside of the door.
Dinah gave Stephen an eye, and he cut off the electricity at once. “I think we can do something to kill time somewhere else now.”
The operating room fell into pure darkness in an instant.
Nate stopped for a second. “What the f*ck?”
Right at this moment, Fannie got rid of the ice bags on her body and threw them away.
“What’s the noise?” Nate had good hearing.
“Not important. Come on!” Fannie hugged Nate and rolled down on the ground.
When his hot body touched her cold one, Nate was sexually excited by the pressure of his body so close to hers and penetrated her without delay.
Both Nate and Fannie moaned with pleasure at the same time.
It was a very unusual feeling Nate had ever had.
“Fannie, you’re mine from now on. I don’t care whether you’re a ghost or a human being,” he said in a husky voice.
“Do keep your words!” Fannie pinched his arm.
Nate smiled. “I will.” After that, they had another round.
They enjoyed the passionate love-making for a long time, and Nate roared in a low voice when he repeatedly penetrated her.
Around an hour later, Nate lay down flat on the ground and put Fannie on his chest because the floor was too cold.
“Is it a deal?” Fannie was still gasping for breath.
“Yes, I’m your man, no matter whether I’m alive or dead.” Nate patted Fannie’s back. “Um, Fannie, I actually don’t care about it, but…”
Fannie straightened her upper body and laid her palms against his strong chest. “What?”
Nate sat up as well and hugged Fannie in his arms. “I honestly don’t care about it…”
“What do you want to say?” Fannie understood the more he explained it, the more he cared about it
Nate remained silent for a while, then asked all of a sudden, “You said you admired a man afar before. which step he and you have developed to?”
Hearing that, Fannie didn’t say a word.
Nate waited for a while, then made a cough and said, “Fannie, I don’t care about it, but I just want to help you pay him back if…”
Right at this moment, a slap fell on Nate’s face with a loud sound.
Fannie found a shirt in the darkness and put it on. “Nate Bass, you just want to know who I lost my virginity to!”
“No, no, I didn’t mean it! I don’t care…” Nate tried to grab Fannie back, but his fingertips just touched her arm, and she was gone.
“Fannie, please, don’t be mad at me. I love you no matter if you’re a virgin or not!” Nate shouted to the darkness. “I just… I’m sorry!” All of a sudden, a shaft of light showed in his sight.
At this moment, he felt like he was in heaven.
In the bright light, Fannie strode away in a loose black shirt with bare feet, and she didn’t bother to give him a glance.
“Fannie!” Nate ran ahead, then knocked his head against the door of the operating room.
It was dark again in his sight.
Nate wanted to catch up with her but found out he was still naked when his hand pulled the doorknob. He stepped back and searched for his pants in the darkness, then put it on as fast as he could before he ran outside.
The moment he pushed the door open, he lost his sight in the strong bright light for a long while.
He squinted and waited for a while, then ran forward, calling Fannie’s name.
After he made a turn at the passage, he saw four people playing cards around a table with happiness.
“What are you doing?” Nate was astonished, standing there.
Let alone they were in the hospital, shouldn’t they be in deep sorrow given Fannie had just passed away? Why were they playing cards and seemed so happy?
Dinah gave him a glance, then covered her eyes with her hands at once. “Nate! I know you’re young and full of energy, but couldn’t you dress well? It’s already late autumn!”
Mrs. Bass noticed several fingernail scratches on Nate’s chest and put her windbreaker on his body without hesitation. “What have you done in there?”
Nate, however, ignored them and asked, “Did any of you see Fannie?”
Kylie pretended to be surprised. “Isn’t Fannie’s body lying in the operating room?”
When she saw the blood around Nate’s lips, she felt like laughing. “Nate, it’s very special of you to bid farewell to Fannie.”
Chapter 425: How Could I Know?
Seeing that nobody understood him, Nate was anxious and lost patience.
“Fannie’s ghost! Didn’t you see it? She just talked to me!” Nate unfastened the windbreaker his mother just put on him and pointed at the scratches around his chest. “I signed a deal with Fannie, and her ghost will live with me as usual.”
Kylie sighed, then looked at Stephen. “Do you have any friends who work in the psychiatry department? I think Nate needs help.”
“We call it a delusional disorder, and there is no need to treat him. We can just ignore him, and he’ll be fine within three days.” Stephen was very calm and played a card.
“I agree with my husband,” Dinah said.
Kylie nodded, then drew out a card and asked Ethan, “Should I keep it or play it?”
“Play it. It’s useless,” Ethan said, hugging Kylie in his arms.
Nate was so mad that he almost wanted to damage the table when nobody cared about him, but he decided to search for Fannie at the outside of the hospital after giving Ethan a glance.
However, when he stood at the door of the Central Hospital, he sensed something was wrong.
On his way to this hospital back then, his full attention was on the terrible news that Fannie was caught by a car accident, and he didn’t notice whether there was a real hospital or an entire Central Hospital.
And now, he raised his head staring at the wall of the hospital, which looked like a backdrop, then glanced at the street that was totally different from an ordinary one in his daily life.
Is here the film and television base?
An idea dawned on Nate that he was trapped.
“Fannie? Fannie! Get out now!” Nate strode back to the hospital and shouted along the way.
Dinah beamed. “You’ve annoyed her away. Shouldn’t you be kind and gentle now?”
“How can you blame me for that? You made her look like dead people. She almost scared me to death!” Nate said.
“Ha-ha, it looked so real, right?” Dinah turned to look at Kylie. “I thought Fannie was really caught by a car accident too when I saw her at first glance.”
“Even the blood smelt so real!” Mrs. Bass nodded.
“Mom, how can you do that to me along with them?” Nate was upset. “I am your son!”
“I did that for your own good. You refused to admit that you like Fannie, after all,” Mrs. Bass said.
“I…” Nate didn’t know what to say.
In fact, he was worried that his mother would disagree, so he hid his affection for Fannie.
Ethan opened his mouth at this moment. “She’s upstairs. Don’t waste your time here.” After that, he stood up, holding Kylie’s hand. “Come on, let’s go back home now.”
Dinah followed them, standing up and held Mrs. Bass’s hand. “Mrs. Bass, Stephen, and I will send you home.”
“Thanks,” Mrs. Bass said.
Within a minute, they were all gone and left Nate alone standing still there in shock.
He finally realized they had worked together to force him to admit that he liked Fannie.
Nate walked upstairs and thought to himself that he would never ask Fannie whom she lost her virginity to again, and he would treat Fannie to the best of his ability during his rest life.
On the second floor, Fannie was changing in an actors’ temporary lounge.
She was wearing Nate’s shirt just then, and now she was putting on clothes Kylie had prepared for her.
Nate pushed the door open, walking inside all of a sudden, “Fannie, I’m coming!”
Fannie wore a cold face and pushed him away. “Leave me alone!”
“Please, give me ten more minutes, and we can enjoy it again…” Nate pressed Fannie to his chest. “Don’t take it so seriously. I didn’t mean it.”
Fannie sneered, “I do take it seriously now.”
She used her full force and pushed Nate away again. “If you can’t figure out the answer, don’t think of touching me again!”
Nate was sad and begged. “How could I know…”
Seeing Fannie becoming more displeased, he changed his tone at once. “Fannie, I don’t care about it. Please forgive me, and I promise I’ll treat you well.”
“No.” Fannie insisted. “Didn’t you say you’re going to teach him a lesson for me? Do it now.”
Nate nodded. “No problem. Just tell me who he is!” Fannie laughed. “Don’t regret it!”
“Why should I regret it?” Nate didn’t understand. “Just give me a name!”
Fannie hugged her shoulders, staring at Nate. “A little reminder. Happy birthday.”
Happy birthday? Nate scratched his head. What does it mean?
Did Fannie lose her virginity on her birthday?
It’s impossible. I always celebrate her birthday together with her, and there are only two of us every time.
Nate glanced at Fannie. He believed the man couldn’t be him.
Seeing Nate being so confused, Fannie took a long breath in, then said, “Whose birthday do you just celebrate in September this year? You were very drunk that night.”
“September?” Nate was more confused because he didn’t have another friend whose birthday was in September.
“Fannie, please just tell me who he is,” Nate begged.
Fannie smiled. “When was your first time?”
Nate was struck dumb. Why suddenly Fannie asked him about his virginity?
“Um, if you’re asking when was my first time with my hand, I think it can date back to…” Saying that, Nate was hit by something on the head. “Ouch!”
“When was your first time with a girl? Where was it, and who did you did that with?” Fannie lost patience.
Nate was struck dumb again by her series of questions.
The room fell into a strange quiet, and Nate moved a step back and leaned against the wall.
He gazed into space for a long time before he opened his mouth again. “I had a wet dream once before.”
His voice was gentle and slow. “You were in that dream, and I somehow hugged you in my arms, then we began to… I-I just thought I missed you so much that I had that wet dream. When I woke up from that dream, I thought it was too real to be just a dream…”
“However, you were absent when I opened my eyes, and I felt deep regret that I didn’t let it last a while longer… I…” Nate suddenly stopped and looked at Fannie’s eyes.
Fannie, instead, burst into tears and cried, “Nate, it wasn’t a dream!”
