Ch. 471..475: Fatal Kiss Of The Vampire Chapter 471-475

Chapter 471: It Misses You“It misses you.” Nate pulled Fannie up with an evil smile on his lips.

He stared straight at her almost transparent clothing, then swallowed hard.

Fannie didn’t understand him. “It? What’s it?”

Nate pulled her hand and pressed it down on his manhood. “Here, it misses you so much.”

Fannie flushed and tried to draw her hand back, but failed. When she used great force the second time, she felt it rubbing against her palm.

“Let me go!” Her face was pure red now.

Nate did let her go, then covered her with his coat. “I don’t want others to see your body.”

He hugged her with one arm, telling her how much he missed her along the way to the hotel.

When Kylie left for the last pickup scene in the might, she was very considerate and didn’t call Fannie. Noises still came out from Fannie’s room after they finished shooting and came back.

“Pupu, we can’t hear the noises, right?” Kylie hugged Pupu and rubbed its furry neck.

All of a sudden, Pupu licked Kylie’s face. Kylie smiled and stopped it. “Don’t kiss me. Do you hear me?”

***

The next morning, everyone gathered together in the hall for breakfast.

Kylie glanced at Fannie’s seat, then asked, “Did anyone see Fannie?”

William was lying on a nearby sofa with his arm laid on his face. “She? I don’t think she’ll come downstairs for breakfast.”

“Why?” Kylie spread butter on her toast. She somehow felt something wasn’t right.

“Why are you lying here?” she turned to look at William.

William abruptly sat up, and Kylie didn’t see his noticeable dark circles under his eyes until now.

“Did someone punch you in a nightclub last night?” Kylie joked and laughed.

“No!” William complained, pointing at the ceiling above his head. “I came back at 12 am last night, and I wanted to have a good sleep, but…”

He clenched his teeth and took a long breath in a few times. “The piling machine was tearing this house down! I was afraid it would move through the wall when I was in my dream!”

Dora walked over with a glass of milk at this moment. She laughed when she heard William’s complaint. “Are you sure? Fannie stays here alone.”

“She did that alone?” William rounded his eyes with surprise. “Really?” He approached Kylie.

Seeing Kylie remaining silent eating her toast, William laughed out loud. “Ha-ha, ha-ha, I finally get the ammunition about Fannie. She can’t use Uncle Nate to bully me anymore!”

“What are you talking about?” Nate walked downstairs, fastening the buttons of his shirt.

He looked quite satisfied.

Dora was struck dumb for a second. She didn’t expect Nate would come here.

Kylie, instead, beamed at William.

William soon changed his tone. “Uncle Nate, good morning! Have some milk after loving your girl for a whole night.” Saying that William served Nate some milk.

Nate, however, raised his leg and kicked the back of William’s knee.

William stumbled back to the table and almost pushed the bottle of jam in the front of Kylie off.

“Uncle Nate, you still have the energy to kick me…” William looked pitiful.

“I still have the energy to punch you now. Do you want to have a try?” Nate said and started to roll up his sleeves.

William was an actor, after all. Although he had abs, he was barely comparable to a soldier who had served in the special forces.

Without hesitation, he escaped and hid behind Kylie’s back. “Aunt Ethan, help!”

Kylie patted his head. “Don’t be so naughty. Apologize to your Uncle Nate.”

“Uncle Nate, I’m sorry,” William said with a serious face. “Do whatever you want tonight, and I won’t say a word about it.”

Nate gave him a side glance, then reached out his hands all of a sudden.

William thought Nate was going to punch him and lowered his head at once, but Nate just took the glass of milk away in front of his face. “For the sake of your Aunt Ethan, I forgive you this time.”

Afterward, Nate smiled at Kylie to please her. “If you’ll excuse me, I need to go upstairs to serve my girl now.”

Kylie nodded like a noble lady and waved her hand.

When Nate was gone, William collapsed on the sofa again. “I hate to be the junior in the family.”

“You shouldn’t argue against Fannie anymore.” Kylie tore a piece of her toast and threw it to Pupu. “She’s Nate’s girl now.”

William pouted. “How about the job offer I told you last time? Have you made your decision yet?”

Kylie stopped chewing. “There is one condition.”

“What is it?” William got interested, looking at Kylie. “I’m willing to fulfill any conditions you lay down.”

If he couldn’t marry Kylie in real life, it was acceptable that he could marry her in the game.

Kylie cleaned her fingers with a tissue. “Help me gain some attention for my fund.”

William blinked with confusion. “What fund? When did you establish a fund?”

“Not a long time ago,” Kylie said. “Will you help me or not?”

“Sure, when?” William agreed with alacrity.

Kylie told him a date, then William called his assistant over to check his schedule in the following days.

“Clear my schedule for the fund!” William made an order.

His assistant asked, “What if it breaks an agreement?”

William rolled his eyes. “Are you an idiot? The last thing Kylie lacks is money.”

“What?” His assistant was struck dumb.

Dora, who was silent all the time, opened her mouth at this time. “Kylie, if you need me, feel free to let me know.”

“I’m thinking about that right now.” Kylie turned to face Dora. “It’s the first time that I’ve established a fund, and there are so many things that I’m not familiar with. Can you be my consultant?”

“No problem.” Dora agreed. “I’ll do my best.”

“Dora, do you also know her fund?” William asked with curiosity.

Dora nodded.

William suddenly got back to his feet and strode to the front of Kylie. He hit the table with great force and questioned Kylie. “Why did you tell me anything about your fund? Why didn’t you bring me to Coco Resort for the vacation? Why?”

“Nothing!” Kylie blinked her beautiful eyes.

“I think there is something!” William was mad. “You exclude me from your friends, and you’re jealous of me!”

Chapter 472: She Was Too Concern About Stephen“So what?” Kylie stared straight at him.

“Aunt Ethan.” William knelt down before Kylie, all of a sudden. “How can you be so cruel to me? Ouch!”

Someone knocked his head, and William turned to glare at Dora. “Don’t interrupt me. I’m expressing my sad feeling.”

“Stop it!” Dora stuffed his mouth with a piece of toast. “Aren’t you afraid your Uncle Ethan will punish you?”

William then stood up and went to sit by Kylie’s side. He had a large bite of the toast and swallowed it down with a mouthful of milk.

“Kylie, you can’t treat me like that anymore.” William looked at Kylie. “I’m heartbroken now.”

“Relax, it’s no big deal.” Kylie smiled.

As planned, they went back home this afternoon.

Fannie, however, would take the night flight for her body condition.

The second Kylie walked out of the terminal, she saw a familiar figure.

The man leaned on the Knight XV in a black coat with a pair of cool sunglasses smiling at her.

Kylie ran across the road and threw herself into his arms. “Baby, you’re so handsome!”

It was cold in Seattle, and Ethan took off his coat to cover Kylie at once.

Smelling the fragrance of his body, Kylie felt super safe and happy.

“Get in now.” Ethan opened the car door.

The air conditioner was on in the car, and Kylie put her hands by the warm wind outlet once she got inside. “How’s the acquisition?”

“The Italian businessman finds a middleman and wants to have a meeting.” Ethan started the car and drove ahead. “Should I go?”

“Don’t ask me. I know nothing about business.” Kylie covered Ethan’s cold cheeks with her hands after she warmed them up. “Do you feel better now?”

“Yeah,” Ethan said.

It was much warmer in the car, but he still chose to wait for her outside.

Lucas went to the airport to pick them up, but he only saw Kylie’s baggage after a long time.

***

Halfway on the road, Kylie suddenly thought of something.

“Oh, let’s go to Stephen’s clinic first. It’s time for my prenatal examination,” Kylie said.

“Is he back?” Ethan made a turn at the next intersection.

“Yeah, he called me yesterday,” Kylie said and sent old Mrs. Parker a message.

If Adolph were also in Stephen’s clinic, old Mrs. Parker would make an excuse to tell Ethan to meet her.

The Knight XV stopped downstairs, and Kylie called Stephen for confirmation.

Stephen was in his clinic right now.

“It’s a regular exam. Why don’t you just wait for me in the car?” Kylie said when she saw Ethan stall the car.

Ethan didn’t say a word, but he looked determined.

He must be at his wife’s side for the prenatal examination.

Besides, he was also curious to know what Stephen had been up to for the past week.

“Um, don’t be displeased. I just think it’s not a good place to stop your car. Probably you’ll be fined,” Kylie said to comfort him.

“I don’t care,” Ethan said.

He could afford it anyway.

Seeing that, Kylie shrugged and agreed.

Stephen was waiting for them at the outside of the elevator. When the door of the elevator opened, Kylie could barely recognize him.

“Did you have plastic surgery in Korea?” Kylie blurted it out.

Stephen was unusually thin now with too noticeable cheekbones on his face. Only his eyes were as gentle and bright as usual.

“I had a disease, and I’m fine now.” Stephen smiled and nodded at Ethan. “Come on in.”

Ethan followed Kylie walking inside.

He observed Stephen from head to toe. “Did you see Dinah recently?”

Stephen adjusted the medical equipment and said, “You’re the last person Dinah won’t contact.”

After that, he told Kylie to sit by the bedside.

Kylie followed his lead and reached out her arm for the test of blood pressure.

“She’s working with Vincent. Does Vincent have any news?” Stephen fixed his eyes on the blood pressure gage when he said to Ethan.

Ethan knew Dinah and Vincent brought Matthew back to their base, but he pretended that he knew nothing about it. “Nope, I lost touch with Vincent too.”

Stephen nodded, then said to Kylie, “Your blood pressure is normal.”

He began to unfasten the medical rubber strap from Kylie’s arm. “They should be fine. They’re always absent once they leave to fulfill a task.”

“Aren’t you worried about Dinah?” Kylie was surprised.

“There is only one girl I’m worried about in this world,” Stephen said, writing on the paper.

It was the first time that Stephen had said that right in front of Ethan’s face.

Ethan was displeased instantly, but Kylie gave him a look to tell him to stay calm.

“Dinah is your wife, after all. What if anything bad happens to her?” Kylie said.

However, Stephen sneered, “If she dares show up right now, I’ll divorce her right away.”

“W..” Kylie wanted to say something, but Stephen interrupted her. “Have you eaten in the morning?” It was obvious that he was reluctant to talk about Dinah.

“Nope,” Kylie said.

“I need to draw some of your blood for Down’s screening.” Stephen stood up and went to prepare tools for the blood test.

Kylie seized this chance and asked Ethan, “Did he have an argument against Dinah?”

Ethan snorted, “He never gets along with Dinah.”

Kylie pouted but had to admit that it was the truth. Although she made them be together, everything didn’t go well now.

It seemed it was getting worse.

“I need to make a call,” Ethan said, then left.

There was a large glass on the door of the examination room. Kylie could still see Ethan’s vague figure if she raised her head up.

“How’s Matthew now?” Ethan asked on the phone.

“Very bad,” Dinah said. “The magical pill has a strong side effect, and Matthew’s body is already ruined by it. He’s like a walking dead now.”

Dinah stopped for a second. “Ethan, I’m afraid Matthew can’t survive it.”

Ethan frowned. “We must help him get rid of it. If he can’t persist, make an accident. Even if he’s dead, he must get off it.”

“I understand.” When Dinah was about to hang up, she asked all of a sudden, “Ethan, how’s Stephen…”

She hadn’t seen Stephen for a week. Every time she saw Matthew tortured by the drug addiction, she was too concerned about Stephen.

Chapter 473: Show Some Respect

“He’s a doctor,” Ethan said in a deep voice. He was reminding Dinah that Stephen was able to take care of himself.

He had done that before, no matter how unpleasant the situation had been.

Even if he had to take the magical pills for a month to gain their enemies’ trust, he had the ability to protect himself from its side effects.

It probably was a serious matter of one’s life in other people’s eyes, but it was still something Stephen could handle well.

“Oh,” Dinah said all of a sudden. “One of our teammates told me the magical pill appeared again yesterday in Seattle after it has been absent for a long while.”

Yesterday?

Ethan frowned, and Dinah added, “Its price is also lower now, which will attract more buyers.”

Ethan turned and met Kylie’s eyes.

Kylie smiled at him.

“I understand.” He nodded, then hung up the call.

“When did you get back to Seattle?” Ethan walked into the room and asked Stephen.

Stephen was drawing blood from Kylie’s arm with a calm face. “Yesterday.”

Ethan didn’t ask further, but Kylie sensed something unusual.

“It’ll be done in seconds,” Stephen said to comfort her.

“You lost too much weight. Did you have a serious disease?” Kylie asked him with concern.

Ethan, who stood behind her, was displeased hearing that she cared about Stephen.

Stephen, however, felt happier when Ethan was annoyed.

“Yeah, it almost killed me,” Stephen said.

“What happened? I called your company, but they told me you didn’t go to work. I was so worried about you.” Kylie secretly pulled the corner of Ethan’s coat.

Ethan slightly pressed her back with his thumb behind her shoulder.

They understood each other very well.

Kylie continued. “You should tell me when you were sick. We’re friends after all, and I could take care of you.”

Stephen glanced at Ethan, then smiled at Kylie. “I will tell you the next time.”

Kylie nodded, then made a joke, “Was it an infectious illness?”

Stephen was amused. “Nope, but lovesickness.”

Kylie was struck dumb for a second and stopped talking about that.

“When can we have the result of this blood test?” she asked a while later when the blood draw was done.

“It should be quick, and I’ll contact you tomorrow,” Stephen said.

After that, Kylie stood up and walked outside with Ethan. Right at this moment, a woman walked inside. “Stephen?”

Hearing the familiar voice, Kylie got nervous and subconsciously squeezed Ethan’s hand.

Ethan pulled her into his arms, and the three of them in the room stared at the woman who was walking near. “Stephen, why did you…”

Agnes wanted to criticize Stephen because he had been absent for a long time, which caused the loss of dozens of million dollars, and Adolph was in a rage now.

Nevertheless, her heart ached for him the second her sight fell on his unusually thin face.

Agnes reached out her hand, trying to touch Stephen’s face, but Stephen turned his head away.

“May I help?” Stephen said, keeping a distance away from Agnes.

“I…” When Agnes wanted to say something, she noticed Kylie, who stood aside and got mad in an instant. “No, I know why Stephen left his work behind and has been absent for so long. He must have left to meet you, a little bitch!”

“Please show some respect.” A low cold voice sounded all of a sudden.

“How dare you…” Agnes raised her head, but her body shook in shock when she saw Ethan’s face.

She had searched for this man for a long time, but found no clue at all. To her astonishment, he showed up right in front of her face out of the blue now!

Agnes fixed her eyes on Ethan’s cold face, which reminded her of Adolph’s angry face after seeing the photo which humiliated him.

Back at that time, Adolph hit the photo on her face, which was quite painful, and she would never forget that feeling.

Ethan tightened his arms around Kylie to protect her. “This lady is my life. Please apologize to her.”

“She…” Agnes couldn’t believe it, “is your woman?”

“Of course, yes.” Ethan gave Stephen a cold glance, then looked at Agnes’s shocked face.

Does she believe Kylie is Stephen’s woman all the time?

The expression on Agnes’s face proved everything. She bit her lips, stepping backward at a slow pace.

Kylie had good sight and noticed the bracelet on Agnes’s wrist was exactly the same as the one around her wrist.

She moved a step forward at once to attract Ethan’s attention. “This is Stephen’s mother, Ethan.”

Saying it, she gave Stephen a quick look for help.

Just by that look, Kylie saw it clearly that Stephen’s sight moved away from Agnes’s wrist to her face.

After that, Stephen opened his mouth. “Mother, this is my close brother, Ethan, and Kylie is his wife.”

Ethan?

Ethan’s name occupied Agnes’s mind before she put on a sarcastic smile. It seemed she realized something.

She looked to Ethan again with a kind smile this time. “Ethan, please don’t be mad at me. I didn’t mean it. Kylie, please accept my sincere apologies.”

Agnes reached out her hand to hold Kylie’s. “Kylie, I know you’re always a good girl, and you’ll forgive me, right?”

Kylie was surprised by the about-face.

“Um, it’s fine, Mrs. Cecil. I understand you care about Stephen very much.” Kylie raised a smile, but her heart was in her throat now.

Agnes’s hand was moving downwards till the bracelet on her wrist.

Kylie wanted to escape.

If Agnes recognized this bracelet and said it aloud before Ethan’s face, Ethan’s real identity would be exposed!

“Kylie, this…” Before Agnes could finish her sentence, Kylie interrupted her and said to Ethan, “Ethan, didn’t you say we should invite Stephen to share a meal together? Mrs. Cecil is also here today. Why don’t we dine together?”

Ethan stared at Kylie for a while, then nodded.

Agnes also had the same idea, but Stephen turned it down. “I’m afraid I can’t. I just came back, and I need to deal with tons of documents in the company.”

Chapter 474: A Souvenir

Seeing Ethan walking away, Agnes was disappointed.

Stephen had left his work behind as he wanted. He even made an excuse to turn the invitation down.

Agnes didn’t care about the meal but wanted to figure out whether the idea in her mind was true.

“Stephen, why did you reject their invitation?” Agnes complained.

Stephen put Kylie’s blood sample away. “Didn’t you say I shouldn’t have left my work behind?”

“But…” Agnes compressed her lips. She thought she could still catch up with a couple of Ethan and Kylie, so she said, “Fine, I gotta go now.”

However, the second she turned around, Stephen stopped her. “Mother, please wait a second. I have something to ask you.”

***

In the Knight XV.

Once Kylie fastened her safety belt, she sensed Ethan was staring at her face all the time.

“What? Am I prettier?” She played cutely but was still very nervous.

“Stop pretending.” Ethan held her hand in his big palm. “Tell me.”

Kylie thought for a while. “Tell you what? Me and Stephen? I did that just…”

“You know what I’m asking.” Ethan interrupted her.

Kylie, instead, remained silent. She was gambling that Ethan had found nothing.

Ethan held her hand, then gradually caught her slim wrist and played the bracelet with one finger.

“It’s gorgeous,” he said.

“O-Of course, it’s your mother’s gift.” The smile froze on Kylie’s face.

Ethan pulled his lips. “I meant the one on Agnes’s wrist.” Kylie held her breath.

She totally forgot the fact that Agnes and Ethan’s mother shared the same given name.

Had Ethan found out something unusual a long time ago?

Kylie lost control of her expressions on her face.

“Ethan, please listen to me…” Kylie turned her hand to hold his, but he threw her hand away.

She licked her lips and explained. “Agnes’s bracelet is very beautiful, but…”

At this moment, Ethan’s eyes were full of hatred. He looked like a devil from hell now. And she suddenly caught Ethan’s eyes turn gold. Or was she just imagining something? But she won’t be mistaken, as her gaze fell to Ethan, she saw a moment ago that his eyes changed but now when she stared at him, only hatred was found.

“Is she Agnes Morgan?” Ethan clenched his teeth in anger.

“Ethan!” Kylie unfastened her safety belt at once when Ethan got off the car and walked back. “Please listen to me.”

Ethan didn’t stop at all and pressed the button of the elevator.

“I did know a little before, but it doesn’t mean I didn’t want to tell you…” The door of the elevator opened, and Kylie followed Ethan walking in it. “I just wanted to find the right time to tell you.”

“Does Stephen know it as well?” Ethan said in a cold tone when the door closed.

Kylie still maintained a close relationship with Stephen, although she knew Stephen admired her. He was tolerant enough. If she told Stephen what she had found, but kept it a secret from him, he didn’t think he could accept that.

“No.” Kylie shook her head. “Well, I have no idea whether he knows or not.”

The elevator was about to arrive on the floor. Kylie pulled Ethan’s hand with anxiety. “Are you going to question her or punch her for your mother?”

“Do you expect me to pretend that nothing has happened?” Ethan threw her hand away the second time and walked out without hesitation when the door opened.

Seeing his proud, cold back, Kylie had a strong, strange feeling of worries.

Before she could figure out the reason, Ethan already pushed the door of the clinic with great force.

With a loud sound, the door moved a little, but it turned out it was locked.

Kylie was relieved, then walked over. “Stephen probably is gone with Agnes. Didn’t he say he’s very busy?”

Ethan turned around, but not to look at Kylie. He stared at the other elevator, and the indicator light showed that it just arrived on the first floor.

They missed each other.

“What else do you know?” Ethan fixed his eyes on Kylie.

***

Inside the Lamborghini.

Stephen took out a clown mask and put it on before he made a call. “How is it going?”

“Lord Stephen, everything is ready.” The housekeeper’s voice with a smile sounded in his earphones.

“Great!” Stephen also smiled with satisfaction. He turned to give Agnes, who was in a deep sleep on the passenger’s seat, a glance, then slammed on the accelerator.

The blue Lamborghini drove to the international dock like lightning.

“Lord Stephen!” The housekeeper wearing a clown mask stood in front of a large container waiting for him. When he saw the woman hanging on Stephen’s arm, he was surprised. “This…”

“A souvenir.” Stephen threw Agnes to him, then walked in the container.

From the outside, it looked like a lot of containers were piled up for transportation, but the inside was transformed into a three-story large factory.

Many workers were busy working inside, and nobody noticed that Stephen was walking inside.

Stephen glanced around and felt satisfied with the scene in his sight. All the workers here were working in order with clown masks on their faces.

“Lord Stephen.” The housekeeper walked to Stephen’s back, then showed him Agnes, who was hanging in his arm now.

Stephen glanced at her. “Lock her up for now.”

“No problem.” The housekeeper walked away with Agnes.

After that, Stephen stepped to a slim short clown.

“3869, how is it going now?” Stephen asked in a deep voice.

The clown named 3869 stopped at once and answered Stephen’s question with great respect. “We’ve already finished 18 boxes, and we’re only two boxes away from our target.”

“Finish it before 10 pm tomorrow.” Stephen made an order.

“Yes, sir!” 3869 said, then lowered his head again to deal with those bottles in front of him.

In the basement, the housekeeper put Agnes down on the floor. Seeing there was nobody around them, he took out a small bottle and shook it before her face.

Agnes soon woke up.

“Jesus!” Agnes screamed when a clown’s face appeared in her sight all of a sudden.

“Don’t scream! It’s me.” The housekeeper took off his mask at once. “It’s me!”

“Seth?” Agnes was surprised. “What are you doing here? Did you abduct me?”

The housekeeper stood up and snorted with disdain. “It’s Lord Stephen who abducted you.”

“You’re on the same boat.” Agnes rolled her eyes, then glared at him. “How dare you deceive me! You told me Barbara’s child was dead, but I just saw him today!”

Chapter 475: A Loyal Dog

The housekeeper was a little surprised, then sneered, “Are you insane? If her child were still alive, your good days would be over a long time ago.”

“What do you mean?” Agnes looked aggressive now.

“In order to marry Adolph, you trapped your own younger sister. If your younger sister’s son were still alive, he would revenge his mother on you without a doubt.” The housekeeper put his clown mask on.

Agnes thought for a while, then abruptly raised her head. “Do you mean Stephen abducts me to pay me back for his mother?”

Before the housekeeper could reply, she laughed. “I think you’re insane. He’s a doctor, and his job is to save other people’s lives. He won’t kill.”

“Exactly because I’m a doctor, I know how to remove a person’s kidney without killing her.” Stephen showed up at the door at short notice. He was wearing a pair of medical gloves along with a scalpel in his hand.

Agnes’s face turned pale in a second. She moved backward, trying to escape, but the cold iron cabinet behind her stood in her way.

She shook her head with great force, and her teeth were trembling in fear. She could barely utter a word now.

Seeing Stephen moving near to her step by step, a stinky smell flowed from the bottom of Agnes’s body all of a sudden.

Stephen stopped for a second and slightly shook his head. “It’s more convenient to remove a kidney without urine.”

“No!” Agnes finally yelled it out. She knelt and lay down on the ground, keeping begging Stephen. “Please let me go, please. I-I’m just the beneficiary of the organ. I’m innocent.”

“You’re innocent?” Stephen squatted and laid the cold scalpel on Agnes’s face. “Did you ask my mother whether she was willing to donate her organ?”

“She was willing. She would be willing to do that!” Agnes raised her voice.

Stephen turned the scalpel and rubbed it against Agnes face with another side. “Well, please help me ask my mother that question after you’re dead too.”

Seeing that the sharp blade was about to fall, Agnes shouted, “Stephen, if you dare hurt me, Adolph won’t let you get away with it!”

Hearing that, Stephen stopped.

Agnes thought she caught Stephen’s weak spot, so she approached him with pride on her face. “Come on, do it if you really hate me.”

Stephen squinted at her.

“Although you’re the executive of Empire Hotel now, you’re just a puppet. Do you have any connections or support?”

“Can you leave Seattle being alive if you kill me?” Agnes was very proud.

Although Adolph never had an interest in her, he wouldn’t let her die since she found his biological son now.

Stephen was just a doctor. His adopted son.

Even though he had several close friends, Dinah was absent, and Ethan wouldn’t help him for the sake of Adolph.

Thinking of that, Agnes guffawed, but she soon stopped, because a syringe replaced the scalpel in Stephen’s hand now.

“This is the new medicine I just made, and you can be the laboratory mouse,” Stephen said and caught Agnes’s arm.

Agnes struggled with violence, and the housekeeper walked ahead to catch her other arm.

“Seth! You’re just a dog! Don’t forget you’re a cheap servant in the Cecil family!” Agnes shouted at him.

The housekeeper snorted, “Yeah, you’re right. I’m just a dog, a cheap servant in your eyes, but Lord Stephen is my lifesaver.”

“He has carried me back from piles of dead bodies without caring that he might be infected.”

“If I were a dog, I would only be Lord Stephen’s loyal dog!”

Agnes gradually lost her energy, and she couldn’t hear a word seeing the housekeeper’s lips moving in her sight. Once Stephen loosened his hand, Agnes sank down on the ground.

“Bring her back,” Stephen said. “Yes, Lord Stephen.” The housekeeper pulled Agnes’s ankle dragging her outside.

“Guard her,” Stephen added.

“Lord Stephen!” The housekeeper dumped Agnes and got annoyed. “It’s the key moment right now. You should let me do the dangerous part!”

Stephen patted the housekeeper’s shoulder with a faint smile on his face. “Exactly because it’s the key moment right now, we must save some effort and be well prepared.”

“But…” The housekeeper still wanted to say something, but Stephen shook his hand and put on the clown mask, walking away.

Although Adolph and Agnes were a married couple, they seldom lived together, so there were only the housekeeper and Agnes in the house now.

Agnes looked like a normal person after she woke up again, except her dull, sluggish eyes.

She called her lawyer without delay and transferred her shares of the Empire Hotel to Stephen. Her immovable property was sent to Stephen too.

***

At the Finch family’s house.

Ethan gazed into the sky at dusk with a burning cigarette in his fingers. He was trying to use his telepathy power to search for Stephen, but he suddenly stopped when he heard sounds of slippers moving near behind but didn’t turn around. Instead, he raised his hand and put out the cigarette on the marble railing.

“Smoke one if you want.” Kylie hugged his waist from his back and pressed her head on his strong body, which could always make her feel safe.

However, she could help him feel safe this time.

After knowing the truth, Ethan had stood alone on the terrace for long participation until now.

It was freezing today, but Ethan looked colder.

Her heart ached when he remained silent.

“Please, don’t blame your mother. It’s not something she could tell you.” Kylie twisted her fingers with his. It was the first time that his fingers had been so cooler than hers. “When I met Adolph the first time, I just thought he looked familiar, but I didn’t think further.”

“I didn’t start to be suspicious of Agnes until I saw the photo of your mother when she was young, but I don’t have any proof.”

Ethan turned around, looking at Kylie, who was blaming herself, then pulled her hands into his clothing to warm them up. “Honey, it’s not your fault. I will figure things out, and one day, I will tell you everything,”

“That’s exactly the reason why I feel so terrible now! Those secrets you’ve been hiding from me brings anxiety to me,” Kylie whimpered. “You can beat me if it can help you feel better.”

“Can I?” Ethan asked her all of a sudden.

Kylie was struck dumb for a second, then said, “Can you hit my ass? I need to work in a few days. Please don’t slap my face.”

Ethan smiled and hugged her with one arm. “Do you want to hear a story?”

Kylie nodded and followed Ethan walking into the room.

The central air conditioner was on in the house, so Kylie’s cold face soon turned pink.
