Ch. 486..490: Fatal Kiss Of The Vampire Chapter 486-490
Chapter 486: It Was A Good Old Memory
“Stephen…” Kylie turned to look at him.
Stephen wore a gentle smile. “Please call me, Star.”
Kylie moved her eyes away and changed the topic. “Can I see Dinah now?”
The housekeeper showed up at the gate. He greeted Kylie with great respect. “Nice to see you again, Miss Finch.”
“Where is Dinah? Tell her to come out now!” Kylie joked.
The housekeeper glanced at Stephen, then turned to walk in another direction. Kylie thought he left to inform Dinah, so she relaxed and sat on the sofa.
The furniture here was still in the same position, and this big soft sofa was Kylie’s favorite piece.
She used to stay on this sofa with Ethan for a long time. He read his documents, and she stared at him.
It was a good old memory.
“I heard you left for Thailand to shoot a reality show.” Stephen poured a glass of water for Kylie and put it on the coffee table.
Kylie wasn’t alert to others but stayed quiet alert facing Stephen. She didn’t touch the glass at all.
“Yeah, it’ll be aired tomorrow.” Kylie bumped her butt on the sofa. “Koh Samui is a beautiful place, and you can have a vacation with Dinah there when you’re free.”
“You can reject me, but there is no need to push me to another person.” Stephen sat across her.
Kylie felt a little embarrassed. “I-I didn’t.”
Stephen, however, looked very serious. “My mother told me that you told her, Dinah is my love, and she’s carrying my baby, so she accepted Dinah.”
“I…” Kylie had to admit it now. “Yes, it’s my idea, but Dinah really loves you!”
“If I have to accept her only because she loves me, how should you treat me? I love you more than she loves me,” Stephen said. Kylie got more nervous.
It wasn’t the right choice to come here. Probably Dinah wasn’t here at all.
“Stephen, let it go. It’s meaningless to bring it up now.” Kylie wanted to leave, but a big palm pressed her shoulder and forced her to sit back.
“I can never let it go that I love you.” Stephen’s voice sounded sad and determined.
Kylie looked up at him. She felt scared facing Stephen now.
His black pupils seemed to be much smaller, while white eyeballs were bigger. He was breathing heavily, and her shoulder was painful.
“Stephen, you hurt me.” Kylie tried to get rid of his hand but failed.
All of a sudden, Stephen moved a step forward and pressed Kylie against the back of the sofa.
His face almost pressed against Kylie’s and his hot breath was around her neck.
“Kylie, do you know what I’ve been through these days?” His voice was hoarse. He said and pulled Kylie’s hand to touch his unusually thin face. “If it hadn’t been for you, I could be dead already.”
Kylie stiffened, staring straight at Stephen in fear.
“Stephen, w-what disease did you have?” Her voice was trembling.
“Lovesickness.” Stephen smiled but looked creepy. “Kylie, I miss you so much.” The second he finished that sentence, he pulled Kylie’s hand to the above of her head.
“No!” Kylie shouted.
****
Lucy told him Kylie stayed at the Parker family’s old house last night.
Knowing that Ethan was relieved. No matter how violent his enemy was, Kylie was safe in his family’s place.
He had a third of his coffee before Fannie called him. “Ethan, I can’t get through to Kylie now.”
“What happened?” Ethan frowned.
“Kylie told me Ms. Green wanted to have a private talk with her, so I left before her. I was worried, so I followed Ms. Green’s car behind.” Fannie sounded anxious. “I followed Ms. Green along the way to her home, but Kylie was absent. Now I can’t get through to her.”
“Did anything happen today?” Ethan stayed calm.
“Well…” Fannie then told Ethan everything that had happened at the set, but she didn’t think of any valuable information.
“You told her what has happened to Dinah?” Ethan’s voice was cold now.
“Yeah, and Kylie comforted me that Dinah will be fine…” Before Fannie could finish, Ethan hung up on her.
Fannie finally realized something must be wrong, and she called Nate without delay, but Nate’s line was busy.
Half an hour later.
Ethan and Nate showed up at Garbo Palace No. 1.
A middle-aged maid walked out to open the gate. “Hi, whom are you looking for?”
Nate pushed her away and strode into the house. “Tell Stephen the jerk to meet us right now!”
“Lord Stephen doesn’t live here.” The maid followed them behind, walking fast. “Mrs. Cecil, Mrs. Cecil!” she shouted to the inside.
Looking at the same house with the same decoration and furnishings, Ethan frowned again. He raised his head, and Agnes appeared in his sight on the second floor.
Agnes was silent for a while with a pair of dulled eyes, then asked them, “Do you have anything to talk to Stephen?”
The moment Agnes appeared, Ethan had a premonition. Stephen took action earlier than them.
Not only had he hypnotized those workers in the factory and made them victims, but he also hypnotized Agnes.
“We need to talk to Stephen about business,” Ethan replied.
Nate was surprised to see Agnes. He glanced at her, then said to Ethan in a low voice, “Ethan, is she…”
It was the first time that Nate had seen Agnes, but he was a frequent visitor to the Parker family’s old house, so he was very familiar with Barbara. Agnes looked almost the same as Barbara.
“She’s Stephen’s adoptive mother, Agnes,” Ethan explained.
“She’s also your aunt,” Nate said, and Ethan rolled his eyes.
Hearing that they were going to talk to Stephen about business, Agnes walked downstairs and said to a maid, “Prepare coffee for our guests.”
Three of them sat in the living room. Ethan looked at Agnes’s blank face, then sneered, “If you can get through to Adolph, we can talk to him as well.”
“Adolph?” Agnes repeated the name, then nodded. “Right.”
However, she didn’t call Adolph herself but told the maid to do that.
The maid seemed frightened. She trembled, walking to the phone and kept glancing at Ethan and Nate.
Nate couldn’t help but think whether the maid was calling the police.
Although Agnes reacted slowly, she felt a little uncomfortable after being stared at by Ethan for a long time. She put on her air of a noble lady. “Have we met before?”
“What do you think, Mrs. Cecil?” Ethan asked.
Agnes raised her jaw with arrogance. “Our Cecil family is an influential rich family. It’s very normal that you’ve seen me before, but don’t you think it’s impolite that you’ve been staring at me all the time?”
Ethan snorted with disdain. “Do you know Barbara?”
“Barbara?” Agnes repeated the name again.
Quick footsteps sounded at the door all of a sudden. “Do you know where Barbara is?”
Chapter 487: Meeting His Biological Father
Nate turned around, and he felt like he saw Ethan 20 years later.
The man also had a tall, strong build with long straight legs and walked quickly. Only the dappled white hair on the temples reminded everyone that this wasn’t illusory.
Nate’s leg lightly touched Ethan’s, and Ethan turned to look over.
The moment he turned, his eyes were as cold as ice.
This man was the one who had locked and tortured Barbara so that she was still scared of him till now.
This man was the one who had occupied Barbara’s heart for 30 years, and she refused to tell anyone what had happened that year.
This man was exactly his biological father!
Ethan clenched his big hands into fists, and he was ablaze with fury now. If it was possible, he would tear the man into pieces!
Adolph, however, seemed to be fully attracted to the name of Barbara. He sat alone on a separate sofa, then took out a cigarette and dangled it from his mouth.
When he was about to light it, he noticed Agnes by a side glance, and he looked evil all of a sudden. “Who told you to dress like this?”
To Ethan and Nate’s surprise, Adolph grabbed Agnes’s collar and pulled her up from the sofa. “Did you forget everything I told you?”
Agnes trembled a little in fear, but her dulled eyes were still the same. It seemed she had no idea what she had done wrong.
“F*ck off! Go upstairs now!” Adolph abruptly pushed Agnes, and she fell down on the floor. Seeing that the pair of male leather shoes were about to kick Agnes, Nate walked ahead and stopped him. “Please don’t. Men don’t beat women.”
After that, Nate turned to look at Ethan. “Ethan, say something.”
Adolph’s sight didn’t fall on Ethan until now.
His evil eyes rounded in shock, and he moved by the sofa to the front of Ethan.
He observed him from head to toe, then focused on his face.
“You…” Adolph was too excited to utter a word.
Ethan stayed calm as usual.
“Barbara, you’re looking for my mother.”
Hearing that, Adolph stepped backward in astonishment and knocked a vase over. He couldn’t believe his eyes now.
It was shocking enough when he heard the news on Barbara today, and he didn’t expect to see Ethan, who looked exactly the same as him. He lost control of himself.
Adolph had an attack of his disease once again.
And it happened right in Ethan’s and Nate’s sight!
He strode towards Agnes and caught her long hair shouting in anger, “Bi*ch! You’re a bi*ch! What can you say now? Can you deny it again that you’ve betrayed me? Whose kid is this?”
Agnes yelled in pain. Probably because of the great pain or a specific sentence Adolph said, she woke up from hypnosis. “Adolph, it’s me! It’s me! I’m Agnes!”
Adolph’s eyes were bloodshot now, and he didn’t listen to her explanation at all but dragged her upstairs.
The stairs were made of wood and hit Agnes’s body one by one. Agnes did her best and hugged a handrail with all of her energy.
“Adolph, wake up! Where is the housekeeper?”
“Get the medicine right now! Ah!”
Terrifying screams filled this house. Even Nate felt the pain by just watching the scene. He asked Ethan, “Ethan, should we be involved?”
Although it just had happened for a few minutes, Nate understood something must be wrong.
This couple could be Ethan’s enemies who he had searched for many years.
A maid ran out from a corner, and was frightened by the scene on the stairs, then ran away to make a call.
Nate showed up by the maid’s side at short notice and grabbed the receiver away from her hand.
The person on the other side of the phone didn’t know that and continued, “Tell Agnes that she deserves it.”
“Stephen?” Nate recognized his voice. “What the f*ck are you doing? F*ck… How dare he hang up on me?” Nate pulled the phone line off and threw the phone to the floor. “Ethan, Stephen is crazy!”
Ethan’s sight followed Adolph to the second floor. Adolph already tore Agnes’s wig off, and her clothing could barely cover her body now.
Adolph caught her ankle and dragged her ahead like she was a dead prey.
“The person you hate is Barbara, not me! I dare you to find her and punish her. She has cheated on you, and she even gave birth to another man’s kid!” Agnes suddenly shouted. “He! It’s he! He is Barbara’s son!”
Adolph stopped, but his eyes didn’t move away. Instead, he stared straight at Agnes and looked quite tender. “Barbara, don’t lie to me. Your love is me, and I’m your love throughout your life!”
“It’s impossible that you’re willing to give birth to another man’s kid. Impossible!” Adolph wore an evil smile. “Do you want a kid? How many do you want? We can make some right now.”
Right at this moment, Agnes drew her ankle back and tried to escape, but Adolph pulled her back again.
“Where are you going?”
“You’ve hidden away from me for 30 years. I’ll never let you leave me again!” Adolph said and pressed on Agnes without hesitation.
Ethan drew his sight back, then turned to walk outside.
Nate spat on the floor and followed him up. “No wonder why Stephen becomes crazy all of a sudden. It’s a crazy family!”
The second he finished his sentences, he saw Ethan stop for a second.
Nate slapped himself at once. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said that!”
“Send some people here to watch them. Forbid anyone to walk in or out,” Ethan said in a cold tone, then got in his car.
Nate sighed. He knew Ethan was pretending to be calm. He took out his phone and did what Ethan told him to do.
Ethan took out a new box of cigarettes from the armrest. He tore it open without patience and shook a cigarette out to light it up.
After pulling on it a few times, his brain started to work again.
If Kylie wanted to see Dinah in Stephen’s house, she could only go to Garbo Palace No. 1. However, why was Agnes staying here, and where did Kylie go?
***
Stephen hung up the call and went back in front of Kylie.
“Didn’t you want Ethan to meet his biological father? They did.” Stephen gently touched Kylie’s face with his fingers and asked with a smile, “Are you satisfied?”
Kylie’s hands and feet were tied by towels. It wasn’t painful, but she couldn’t move at all.
Seeing Stephen, who almost went crazy now, Kylie didn’t dare to annoy him. “Stephen, it’s very uncomfortable. Can you remove them?”
“I’m sorry.” Stephen squatted by the sofa. “This is the only way that I can use to keep you by my side.”
Kylie struggled a little and wore a pitiful expression. “I can’t lie like this for a long time. My waist is losing strength.”
Chapter 488: Why Did You Do That?Stephen’s eyes became gentle, and his big palm fell on Kylie’s shoulder.
She thought Stephen would support her up, but he reached his hand out to her waist. “It’s fine. I can help you relax it.”
Kylie was in a strange position right now. She was forced to lean on Stephen’s chest.
Since she couldn’t escape, she must figure out a way to get some useful information from Stephen’s mouth.
“Star?” Kylie looked at him. “Why did you do that?”
It seemed Stephen didn’t bother to keep any secrets from Kylie. He wasn’t worried that she would leak any secret information out at all.
“Do you mean the magical pill?” Stephen sounded proud. “It began as a chemistry test, but it turned out to be absurdly profitable.”
“I don’t think you did that for money. You already transferred the shares of Empire Hotel to me.” Kylie stared at Stephen’s eyes, trying to find out more. “You must do that for a reason.”
Probably because Kylie’s understanding touched Stephen, he supported her up and faced her.
“Money is the base of everything in this world. Without money, I can’t own a factory and hire a bunch of people to help me do my tests.”
“Without tests, I can’t make the magical pill.”
“Without everything I own now, I can’t take revenge for my mother!” Stephen looked at Kylie with his eyes full of love. “Kylie, it’ll all belong to you in the future.”
“I don’t want it,” Kylie said without thinking about it at all.
Stephen was struck dumb for a second, then asked, “What do you want?”
“Confess to your crimes,” Kylie said with determination. “People make mistakes, and you still have a chance to correct those you’ve made. No matter what, we can still be friends.”
Stephen let Kylie go, then stood up. He moved a circle at the same position, then laughed out loud.
“Kylie, do you think I’m Ken or Aiden?” Stephen walked to the back of the sofa with his arms pressed against it. He approached Kylie’s ears. “I will win, and I’ve built an empire to serve you.”
Afterward, he straightened his body and showed his wealth off. “Ethan can give you an island, so can I. There is an undeveloped diamond mountain on my island.”
Kylie was too shocked to say a word now. To her astonishment, Stephen had schemed everything!
Her heart was pounding with anxiety, and heard him continuing, “His film company doesn’t help you, I will. I promise I’ll help you become the most successful actress around the world!”
Kylie couldn’t help but cry and slowly shook her head.
Stephen looked gentle but was more unreasonable than Ethan.
He firmly believed that what he could offer was what Kylie wanted.
“Stephen, I thought you understood me the most, but I’m wrong,” Kylie whimpered.
Stephen frowned, seeing her crying.
He got nervous but refused to show it on his face. “Why?”
Kylie shook her head. “I love acting only because I can experience all kinds of roles. I want to win prizes only because I can prove my ability by that.”
“I love Ethan, not because he’s rich and powerful. I love Coco Resort, not because it’s priceless!” Her cheeks were all wet with tears, and her lips trembled a little before she opened her mouth again.
“I want to fight for what I want myself. I enjoy the process and the progress I make. I want to be treated with sincerity.”
“I want everything to happen in a natural way, but not under force and violence!”
Even if she was offered an empire, she could still feel unhappy if it wasn’t the life she wanted.
Hearing that, Stephen had a strong sense of failure. He squinted but said nothing.
Kylie had been in a tense atmosphere for a long time and now looked exhausted after venting her negative emotions.
Stephen gently carried her in his arms. “Have some sleep in the room.” Kylie didn’t struggle at all because she knew it was useless. She lay in the familiar room and was surprised to find it was spotless.
Stephen went back to the living hall and drank up the glass of cold water.
He had a long breath out, then removed the sofa cushions.
Dinah’s face was pale, and sweat dampened her hair in the groove under the cushions. When there was light in her sight, she squinted, looking over.
Stephen lowered his upper body and tore the tape off Dinah’s mouth. He sneered, “Did you hear everything?”
Dinah breathed in a large mouthful of fresh air before she snorted with disdain. “Stephen, you’re as dumb as me.”
“No, no, no.” Stephen shook a finger before her face. “You’ll lose everything while I’ll get the woman I want.”
Dinah wanted to repeat something but had a sudden stomach ache. “Y-You’re digging your own grave!”
Stephen wore a creepy smile. “Really? I’m afraid the bastard in your belly will be buried nowhere.”
“What?” Dinah was scared. She wanted to yell for help, but her throat was too hoarse even to talk.
“Let’s go now!” Stephen hugged Dinah out, then walked straight to the lab.
The housekeeper walked out later and put the sofa back to its normal condition before he disappeared again.
Cold metal equipment went deep down into Dinah’s body. It was so painful that she wanted to curl up, but her legs were tightly fastened to the delivery bed.
“This is your baby.” Dinah burst into tears. “You love Kylie and the babies in her belly too, but they’re Ethan’s kids!”
“This baby in my belly is yours, Stephen!”
Stephen had a medical mask on his face, and only his eyes were bare in the air. He adjusted the lights, then kept on doing the operation.
“No!” Dinah yelled under the excruciating torture. “D-Don’t.”
Warm liquid flew out of her body a while later. It took Dinah’s only hope, along with her soul, away.
She wanted to escape right now, but she’s too exhausted to use all her inner power. She hoped the moon goddess could bring her away with her aborted baby to the sanctuary of their clan.
All of a sudden, a loud sound sounded in the passage.
Stephen dumped the forceps, then pushed the door open, walking out.
Right when Dinah was about to fall unconscious, she heard a familiar voice. “Dinah?”
Dinah did her best to open her eyes, and Kylie’s worried face showed in her sight.
“What is happening here?” Kylie didn’t know what to do, looking at the flowing blood under Dinah’s body.
“H-Help me.” The only warm things on Dinah’s body now were her tears.
Stephen ran into the housekeeper in the living room. The housekeeper rubbed his palms against each other with anxiety. “Lord Stephen, Kylie escaped.”
By a clear sound, a slap fell on the housekeeper’s face.
Chapter 489: It’s So Cruel
“You’re useless!” Stephen snapped at him. An idea dawned on him afterward, and he turned to stride back to the lab.
He kicked the door open with great force.
There was only a large area of bloodstain on the surgery bed.
“Go find them now!” Stephen shouted.
Kylie escaped from the window carrying Dinah, who was dying on her back.
It turned out that they weren’t in Garbo Palace No. 1 at all.
This villa was nothing more than a piece of 3D cardboard, behind which was wilderness.
Not only had Stephen told the staff member in the law firm to drug her water, but he also had made a house that looked exactly the same as Garbo Palace No. 1?
“Look, there is bloodstain!” someone said.
Kylie glanced at the ground. Dinah was still bleeding, and the thick blood was flowing down through her legs.
“Kylie…” Dinah was out of energy now. “Escape alone. Y-You can’t leave with me.”
“No, I won’t abandon you here!” Kylie did everything she could to support Dinah and stumbled ahead.
Footsteps were moving near behind them, and Kylie was soon exhausted.
She fell all of a sudden, and Dinah rolled down from her back. They were about to be caught by Stephen’s bodyguards.
At this key moment, a tall, strong figure showed up in front of Kylie. “Get in the car.”
Kylie raised her head, and light streamed down by the man’s shoulders. She squinted for a while, then said with surprise, “Tory? What are you doing here?”
“Do you want to hear my explanation right now?” Tory pointed at nearby trees.
They could see bodyguards chasing over through the gaps.
“Dinah, hold on!” Kylie pulled Dinah, who was about to fall unconscious, up. Tory moved a step forward and carried Dinah in his arms without delay.
His car was stopped not far away. Kylie apologized for the second she was in the car. “I’m so sorry about dirtying your car.”
Tory took out a blanket from the trunk and threw it to Kylie before sitting on the driver’s seat and started the car.
Right when the engine began to work, the group of bodyguards ran out of the trees.
“There! Don’t let her escape!” Some of them hit the car windows with great force, while some of them pulled the car doors with violence.
Kylie was scared and hugged Dinah in her arms. She covered her head in the blanket, avoiding meeting their eyes.
Tory slammed on the accelerator, and a few bodyguards who were still pulling the car doors were dragged down.
The car dashed ahead, and those bodyguards chased them behind. The next second, the car made a quick U-turn and rapidly moved towards those bodyguards.
With several loud sounds, someone rolled over from the top of the car.
Kylie didn’t dare raise her head again until the car moved far away. “I-Is he dead?” she asked in fear.
Tory smiled. “He’s fine. He probably just broke several bones.”
Hearing that, Kylie was relieved. She looked at Dinah and found out Dinah was already unconscious now. “Would you please send us to the hospital? I’m afraid Dinah is dying.”
“He’s a doctor, and you still want to send her to the hospital?” Tory gave Kylie a glance from the rear-view mirror.
“W-What should we do now?” Kylie wasn’t in the mood to think why Tory knew Stephen so well.
“Miss Finch, if you don’t mind, there is a doctor in my place,” Tory said.
“Thank you so much!” Kylie compressed her lips. “Thank you again on behalf of Dinah.”
Tory turned around to glance at them, then smiled at Kylie. “I think Dinah should thank you.”
After the doctor did everything he could, Dinah survived.
“How is she now?” Kylie asked in a hurry.
“It’s so cruel.” The doctor was Italian. He shook his head and said, “She woke up once and told me to keep her baby under any conditions.”
Kylie was shocked. “How is the baby? Is the baby still alive?”
“No, her womb is seriously damaged, and she can’t be pregnant again in the future,” the doctor said, then he talked to Tory in Italian for a while before he left with Tory’s permission.
“What? Why?” Kylie leaned against the wall and burst into tears.
The scene where Dinah lay on the delivery bed in blood appeared in her sight again and again. She knew who had done the abortion to Dinah!
Stephen, how can you be so cruel to your own woman and baby?
A big palm fell on her shoulder.
Kylie turned and saw Tory’s eyes, which were full of concern. “The doctor told me that the patient isn’t in a good mood, so you better not tell her the truth.”
“I won’t.” Kylie nodded. “Mr. Romeo, thank you so much for what you’ve done today, but…”
“But why did I show up there?” Tory smiled. He made an elegant hand gesture to invite Kylie to walk ahead. “Miss Finch, what kind of person do you think I am?”
“I think you’re a good person,” Kylie said with certainty.
Tory shook his head. “I don’t think so.”
“We Italians always say that black is also white, and white is also black.”
“The definition of a good person changes in different people’s eyes.”
Kylie followed Tory to the garden. “You teach Ben to be a real man, so you’re a good father in Ben’s eyes.”
“You’ve rescued Dinah and me. You’re also a good person in our eyes, no matter how you treat others.”
“Miss Finch, you’re very smart.” Tory gave her a thumbs-up. “Well, I’m afraid I’m a bad person in your husband’s eyes.”
Kylie was surprised, then soon figured out Tory’s meaning. “Are you the drug buyer?”
“Yeah,” Tory admitted it. “Mr. Brown is a genius. He can produce such a profitable drug at a reasonable price. There is no reason for me not to cooperate with him.”
“Mr. Brown?” Kylie didn’t understand why Tory called Stephen Mr. Brown.
“Oh, I know you call him Clown,” Tory said.
When Kylie was about to ask more questions, someone told them that Dinah was awake.
Kylie ran back to the ward as fast as she could. Dinah’s face was pale, and her dulled eyes were fixed on the infusion bag above her head.
“Dinah, how do you feel now?” Kylie caught her cold hands tight.
“Kylie.” Dinah turned to look at Kylie at a slow pace. Floods of tears flowed down by the corners of her eyes, and the pillow was wet within seconds. “M-My b-bay.”
Kylie glanced at Tory, who stood aside, then smiled at Dinah. “It’s still alive. The doctor said it’s fine.”
Dinah couldn’t believe this news and kept crying, but there was a smile on her lips. She did her best to reach her hand down to touch her belly.
Kylie felt so sorrowful that she was afraid she would lose control of herself and cried out, and Dinah would find out it was just a lie.
The smile wasn’t very natural on her face now, and she pulled Dinah’s hand to touch the belly. “Here, it’s fine.”
“My baby is… is only 40 days. I-I lost s-so much blood…”
“Dinah? Dinah!”
Dinah fell unconscious again under great excitement.
Chapter 490: I Found It
Today was Saturday.
I Can Do It was aired at prime time.
Kylie’s smart, adorable image impressed everyone, and William’s humor also made many people his fans.
With the influence of their gossip and the famous guests in the show, the first episode was a great success.
When the production crew and the participants were celebrating, another group of people was in anxiety.
Ever since Dinah was missing, they also lost touch with Kylie.
***
In the Finch family’s house, the living room was filled with smoke.
Everyone sat in silence. There was only Kylie’s laughter aired on TV.
Nate lost patience. He put out his cigarette and turned the TV off. “Ethan, where the f*ck can Stephen hide himself?”
Ethan’s sight stayed on the black screen of the TV. He pressed his lips to a tough line. He frowned, tapping his big palm on the armrest of the sofa.
Vincent made a cough and gave a glance at the TV.
Nate was struck dumb for a few seconds, then turned the TV on.
The picture where Kylie served Tory a piece of cake showed, and Ethan’s fingers stopped in the air.
“Vincent,” Ethan said in a deep voice. This was the first time that he had opened his mouth tonight. “Collect all the traffic surveillance camera videos of Seattle to find Tory’s moving track.”
Vincent scratched his head. “Ethan, there are dozens of thousand surveillance cameras in Seattle, and it takes at least a month to…”
At this moment, Nate kicked him. “Do whatever Ethan told you to do. We have more people than cameras.”
“Sure!” Vincent knew how difficult it was but had no reason to argue against it.
When there was only Nate left in the living room with Ethan, he approached near and asked in a low voice, “Ethan, can we get any clues to find Kylie by investigating Tory?”
Ethan turned to look at Nate. “If you were as half smart as Stephen, you wouldn’t be like this today.”
Nate was struck dumb again. Why did Ethan suddenly talk about him?
The living room fell into silence once more. Nate walked in circles with worries while Ethan watched the show from the beginning to the end on the sofa.
A while later, Vincent called him.
“Ethan, we’ve got all the surveillance camera videos of this week at the tech center now. Will you come here?”
“I’ll be right there.” Ethan stood up at once. Nate drank a mouthful of coffee, then followed him up.
The Knight XV drove fast on the road, and street lights cast bright and dim light inside.
Once Nate turned his head, he saw Ethan’s sharp eyes and delicate profile.
Ethan seemed calm but actually was more anxious than anyone else.
However, he had to stay calm.
There were over dozens of computers in the tech center, and everyone was trying to find out any useful information from the videos.
Seeing Ethan walking in, Vincent welcomed him. “Ethan, please follow me to my office.”
There were nine LCD monitors on the wall, and they could see different directions of the same crossroads.
“Fast-forward.” Ethan made an order in a cold voice.
Vincent pressed the fast-forward button.
Nate lit a cigarette and handed it to Ethan’s hand, but Ethan didn’t move at all. He was still fixing his eyes on the pictures.
“Kylie isn’t here. You can smoke one to cheer yourself up.” Nate squeezed the cigarette to Ethan’s fingers.
There were so many people smoking in the Finch family’s house just then, but Ethan was an exception. He pinched a lit cigarette in his fingers, and waited for it to be fully burned, then lit another one.
Nevertheless, they were in a different situation now. It could take a whole night or a longer time to finish checking those videos.
Meaningless things could easily distract people and make them feel visually tired. If so, they could miss the best chance to find Tory.
Ethan smelt the cigarette, but he directly broke it into halves.
Nate pulled his lips, then remained silent.
In order to cheer everyone up, Nate and Vincent ordered many cups of coffee with shots.
Ethan stood there still all the time. He didn’t smoke nor drink coffee. In fact, he didn’t move his eyes away from the screens for a second.
The hour hand pointed at 12.
People were yawning in the room, but they found nothing useful.
Nate was more and more worried.
He was anxious that Kylie could be in danger and was more concerned that Ethan, who lost his beloved woman, would do something crazy.
Ethan still stood upright there till noon.
Vincent felt so sorry for him that he lightly knocked Nate with an elbow and asked in lip language whether they should beat Ethan down to let him have a rest.
Nate also replied in lip language that it was impossible.
If Lord Ethan was unwilling to rest, nobody could force him to do so.
Vincent pursed his lips, then pointed at their colleagues outside his office. Ethan could stay awake for a long time, but they couldn’t.
Nate thought for a while, then told Vincent to tell them to take a rest for half an hour.
“Ethan, you should take good care of yourself even for the sake of Kylie.” Nate walked to Ethan. “You’ve watched these videos for over a dozen hours. Aren’t you afraid it’ll damage your sight? What if…”
At this moment, Ethan turned to look at him with a pair of bloodshot eyes.
“Don’t hit my face!” Nate covered his head in fear when Ethan just raised his hand.
“I found it.” His voice was hoarse.
“What?” Nate put his hands down.
Ethan pointed at one monitor. “The Buick is just covered, and Tory’s real car is the Cadillac One.”
“How did you find it?” Nate moved to the front of the monitor, looking at the picture stopped on the screen.
Ethan didn’t have time to explain that and said to Vincent through a walkie-talkie, “A black Cadillac One. Search it in the videos right away.”
“Yes, sir!” Vincent said.
With a clear target, it was much easier for them to find its location.
After Ethan’s screening, they finally found the car stopped at Mountain Elmon, which wasn’t far away from Garbo Palace.
“What does Tory do there?” Nate was still confused. He also felt utterly regretful because he and Ethan had moved by this Cadillac One when they left Garbo Palace.
It could be the meeting place or the place for Clown and Tory to trade drugs, so Ethan ordered them to be fully armed.
Each of them put on a bulletproof vest and carried guns.
“Ethan put on one too.” Nate handed Ethan a bulletproof vest, but Ethan pushed it away.
“Hey…” When Nate was about to say something, Vincent ran over with his phone.
His face was pale with his forehead covered in a cold sweat. He didn’t open his mouth until he swallowed hard at the front of Ethan.
“Lord Ethan, I just got an emergent call from the fire center.” “A villa at Mountain Elmon is on burning fire now!”
