Chapter 496: You’re The Most Strangest Man I’ve Meet
Ethan held his breath. He wanted to know whether Kylie was under any threat from her tone.
Kylie waited for a while but heard no sound. “Are you sure someone wants to talk to me?” She turned to ask Tory.
“What? Is he shy?” Tory took the phone again. “I didn’t expect you to be a coward.” He sounded as arrogant as usual.
He thought Ethan would argue against him, but Ethan directly said, “Meet me at the dock of Seattle at 7:30 pm. I want to see Kylie in person, or…”
Ethan glanced at Ben, whose face was full of anticipation, then hung up on Tory.
Tory looked at Kylie. He made a hand gesture to tell her to enjoy her coffee, then turned around to face the ocean himself.
He looked serious and seemed to be planning something. After a long while, he went to sit across Kylie. “Your 3-day break is over, I think.”
Kylie warmed her hands up, holding the cup of coffee. “Can I leave now?”
“I never have forced you to stay.” Tory smiled.
“How about Dinah?” Kylie asked.
“It takes a while for her to recover, and I think she better stay here,” Tory said. Kylie understood Tory needed to hold Dinah hostage.
Although Tory wasn’t their ally, Kylie believed he wouldn’t hurt Dinah. In addition, she missed Ethan so much after being apart from him for days.
“I’ll do my best to help you, and I also hope you can take good care of Dinah.” Kylie reached out one hand across the table.
Tory looked at Kylie’s hand. He smiled and held her hand.
Her hand was still warm, and Tory’s heart lost a beat.
“You’re the best girl I’ve ever seen,” Tory said.
“You’re the strangest man I’ve ever seen,” Kylie said, then drew her hand back. “Can I leave now?”

Ben complained, rubbing his belly when it was just a little past 7 pm. “Mother Kylie’s husband, I’m hungry.”
“Shut up,” Ethan snapped at him, fixing his eyes on passing cars at the dock.
Ben pouted in annoyance and kicked the back of Ethan’s seat. “How can you be so terrible to a kid? You’re a bad guy!”
Ethan glanced at him, then knocked on his head.
“Ouch! How can you hit me? I’ll call Mother Kylie!” Ben raised his voice.
Ethan coldly looked at him, seeing him dialing Kylie’s phone number.
“Mother Kylie, your husband is a bad guy! He just hit me and refused to feed me!” Ben told Kylie.
Ethan had failed to get through to Kylie ever since she was lost, so he thought Ben was just acting.
“Yeah, he is your husband. I’m sure it is he,” Ben said with certainty. After listening to the phone for a while, Ben asked Ethan, “Where are we now?”
“The dock of Seattle,” Ethan snorted.
“The dock of Seattle,” Ben repeated. “Mother Kylie, when can you be here? Oh, OK, here!” Ben handed his phone to Ethan. Ethan pulled his lips and used two fingers to pinch Ben’s mini phone. “What?”
“Ethan?” Kylie couldn’t believe it was Ethan’s voice.
Ethan was struck dumb for a second, then quickly checked the phone number. “Kylie? Where are you?” He got nervous.
“Me? I’m home now. Ethan, what happened to your voice? What are you doing at the dock? Why are you with Ben now?” Kylie bombarded him with questions.
“Wait for a second, and I’ll be there to meet you right away,” Kylie added.
“No, I’ll be right home,” Ethan said, then threw the phone back to Ben.
Ben picked up his phone. When he was about to say something again, he found the call was already hung up.
The second they entered the Finch family’s house, Ethan left Ben behind and ran into the living room without delay.
Kylie also strode to the door when she heard the sound of a car engine, and Ethan pressed her to his chest the next second.
“Kylie, Kylie…” Ethan hugged her tight and kissed her hair again and again.
“What happened to your voice?” Kylie’s heart ached for him. When her hand just touched his back, he moaned in pain. “Are you injured?” Kylie frowned. “Did Clown hurt you?”
Ethan grabbed Kylie’s hand to kiss it. It took a long while for him to calm down, and his sight fell on Kylie’s belly at the end.
Kylie understood what he was thinking and covered her stomach with his big palm. “Don’t worry, and we’re safe and fine.”
A touch of happiness flashed by Ethan’s eyes, but he soon looked displeased. “Whose blood is on the delivery bed?”
“Dinah’s.” Kylie compressed her lips. “Stephen conducted abortion to her in person.” She leaned on Ethan’s chest and felt like crying. “I know you always want to catch the Clown, but you must take care of yourself at the same time. Don’t worry me, alright?”
“No!” Ben squeezed into the middle of them all of a sudden, but Ethan pushed him away. “Your husband kidnapped me!”
Kylie glanced at Ben, then Ethan. “Really?”
“Yeah.” Ethan nodded.
Kylie bit her lips for a while, then said, “No wonder why Tory was willing to let me go. You used Ben to threaten him, but it works.”
“Did he make it difficult for you?” Ethan held Kylie’s hand walking to the sofa and covered her waist with another hand.
“No, he is very kind to me and found Dinah the best doctor.” Kylie sat on the sofa and waved her hand at Ben to tell him to come over.
Ben wants to sit by Kylie’s side, but Ethan gave him a cold glance, so he had to sit at the opposite big sofa.
“Where is Dinah now?” Ethan asked.
“Um.” Kylie thought for a while before she said, “Dinah’s very weak, and it isn’t convenient for her to move now.”

Kylie laughed and said to Ethan in a quiet voice, “We must be careful because there is a little kid with us.”
Ethan glanced at Ben. “He can go back home now.”
“I’m not going home!” Ben leaned on the back of the sofa. “Mom, I’m starving,” he said to Kylie with a pitiful expression.
“Come on, let’s have some delicious food.” Kylie stood up at once and held Ben’s hand, walking to the kitchen.
Ben made a face at Ethan, then jumped with happiness to show his victory along the way.
Seeing Kylie entering the kitchen, Ethan clenched his teeth and raised his arm, which was held in Kylie’s arms just then.
The housekeeper walked over in a hurry and wiped the sweat off Ethan’s forehead. “Mr. Parker, are you sure you’re not going to tell Mrs. Parker?”
When Ethan hugged Kylie in his arms a short while ago, the housekeeper almost dashed out to stop them. However, Ethan seemed to be fine, so he didn’t dare do that.
“I fully recovered when I saw my wife,” Ethan frowned and said with enthusiasm. “Tell the doctor not to come tonight.”
“But the doctor needs to change your dressing,” the housekeeper said.
Ethan thought for a while, then said, “I’ll go over.”
“Sure.” The housekeeper was still worried. Ethan’s collars were already dampened by sweat. It was apparent that he consumed his energy a few days ago.
Lucy wiped her eyes when she was preparing dinner. Seeing Kylie walking inside with a little boy, she did her best to stop crying. “Mrs. Parker? It’s really you!”
“Lucy, I’ve been absent for just a few days. Are you crying because you miss me too much?” Kylie joked and hugged Lucy.
Lucy looked to the living room, but Ethan made a hand gesture to tell her to keep it a secret. “Yeah, right. Old people cry a lot.”
Ethan was seriously injured, but he didn’t want to worry Kylie.
“This is?” Lucy noticed Ben.
“Hi, my name’s Ben, and I’m Mother Kylie’s son.” Ben introduced himself.
Kylie beamed and rubbed Ben’s head. “My son in the new show. Lucy, what have you prepared for dinner? Is there anything for a kid?”
“Um.” Lucy raised her outstretched hands. She only prepared some simple food for Ethan because he couldn’t overeat meat now.
Kylie was struck dumb for a second when she saw the food. She knew Ethan hated heavy and greasy food, but there was no meaning at all.
Kylie was confused and wanted to ask Lucy why, but Lucy turned to face Ben at once. “Hi, Ben, what do you want to have? I’ll make some for you right now.”
“I can eat whatever Mother Kylie eats,” Ben said. He was a very considerate kid.
“Well…” Lucy had to meet Kylie’s eyes, but she panicked a little. “Mrs. Parker, what do you want to have?”
“I don’t have much appetite. Please cook some chicken legs for the kid,” Kylie said.
“No problem.” Lucy went to cook without delay.
Hearing Kylie’s voice, Pupu strode out of the room. Ben got excited the second he saw it. “A big dog!”
“Are you afraid of it?” Kylie asked with a smile.
“Nope.” Ben actually trembled a little in fear seeing the big dog, which was as tall as him walking over, but he pretended to be calm. “My father told me a real man isn’t afraid of anything!”
Kylie squatted, and Pupu licked her hand. “Pupu, this is Ben, and he’s our friend.”
Pupu gave Ben a glance but stayed cold.
Ben approached Kylie and asked in a low voice, “Mother Kylie, can I touch it?”
“Sure.” Kylie pulled Ben’s hand and reached it out to Pupu. Ben was full of anticipation as well as scare. He tried to draw his hand back a few times, but Kylie stopped him.
Pupu looked at Ben’s little hand for a while, then leaned its head on it.
Ben was thrilled. Kylie then let his hand go and told him to rub Pupu’s head with a glance gently.
“D-Don’t be s-scared…” Ben’s voice was trembling when he rubbed Pupu.
Pupu directly lay down on the floor to let Ben enjoy the rubbing.
Kylie didn’t turn to look at Ethan until Ben happily played with Pupu.
He stood on the terrace. It was a freezing day, but the suit on his back turned out to be dark as if soaked in sweat.
“Ethan.” Kylie walked to his back and lightly surrounded his waist. Before she laid her head on his back, she felt he straightened his back up.
Kylie stopped for a second, then moved closer at a slow pace.
She didn’t place her head on his back but touched his clothing with the tip of her nose. She smelt some medicine.
“Are you injured?” Kylie walked in front of him.
Ethan pressed her shoulders with his hands. “Yeah.” There was a faint smile on his face. “I was super worried when you were missing.”
Kylie felt like crying, then kissed his sexy thin lips.
His lips were a bit chapped with the smell of blood in his mouth. When Kylie’s tongue stuck in, he murmured.
“Mo…” When Ben was about to say something, Lucy covered his eyes and hugged him away. “Come on, let’s eat the delicious chicken legs.”
Ethan pressed Kylie stepping forward with his arms on her waist. He used a little force all of a sudden and put her on the guardrails.
Kylie’s sight was on the same level as Ethan now, supporting his face with her hands to observe him. “Do you want to keep it a secret from me?”
Ethan compressed his lips but said nothing.
“What has happened to your throat?” Kylie asked. “Your back and your arms?”
Ethan smiled. “You’re growingly smart.” He kissed her soft lips. “It’s fine. Just some minor injuries, and it healed gradually. Look at me now, didn’t I look better?”
“Let me have a check!” Kylie said and unfastened the buttons of Ethan’s shirt, but he stopped her. “There is a kid.”
Afterward, he said with Kylie’s ears. “You can enjoy looking at my body as long as you want tonight.”
Kylie nodded, then wiped the sweat on Ethan’s forehead with her sleeve. “Don’t do that again. You must tell me whenever you’re injured.”
Ethan stared at her eyes for a long time, then said, “Give me your phone.”
Kylie didn’t understand why he suddenly said that, but she still took out her phone and handed it to him. “I didn’t receive any calls from you.”
Ethan’s slim and long fingers moved on the screen of the phone. He opened something, and a line of complicated code appeared in Kylie’s sight.
A few seconds later, the code disappeared but left a line of words on the screen.

Chapter 498: A Virus Program
“What does it mean?” Kylie asked.
Ethan was gazing into space.
Seeing that, Kylie waited in silence for his answer.
It was apparent that Kylie’s phone was installed with a virus program. This program could interfere with Kylie’s mobile phone signal, so no one could get through to her during this time.
If the virus was installed by Stephen, his purpose must be to cut off Kylie’s communication with the outside world, so she could never escape.
If the virus was installed by Tory, his purpose should be to hide his location. However, in that case, Ben shouldn’t have been able to get through to Kylie.
Who had installed this virus into Kylie’s phone, and when did it happen?
Ethan was very familiar with this code because he had seen it before many years ago.
All of a sudden, Kylie’s phone rang, and the caller was Kate.
Ethan gave it back to Kylie to let her pick up the call.
“Hi, Ms. Green,” Kylie said.
“Kylie, bad news!” Kate’s voice was much louder than usual. It scared Kylie, and she moved her phone away from her ears at once. Even though she did that, they still could clearly hear Kate’s worried voice. “Ben’s kidnapped, and we have no clue now.”
Kylie looked at Ethan. “Ms. Green, Ben’s fine, and he’ll go back to the set tomorrow with me.”
“What?” The wail of police sirens sounded from Kate’s side, followed by noises for a long while. “Ben’s father is here. I’ll call you later,” Kate said, then hung up.
Kylie sighed, “Well, the police are alerted.”
“It’ll be fine.” Ethan looked very calm.
“Why?” Kylie asked.
“Tory doesn’t want anyone else to know that you came back from his place,” Ethan sneered. Therefore, Tory wouldn’t tell anyone that Ethan had forced Ben to leave with him either.
Kylie nodded. “How about the code you just mentioned?”
“It’s nothing. Just a virus program,” Ethan said. He took out a bracelet and put it on Kylie’s wrist. “There is an alarm system inside. Let me know once Stephen contacts you again.”
Kylie raised her hand and had a look at it. “Is there also a GPS on it?”
Ethan kissed her forehead with a smile.
The dinner was ready. For the convenience of Kylie and Ethan, Lucy helped Ben eat somewhere else.
Kylie asked Ethan, “Are you sure Stephen is Clown?” She put a bowl of soup in front of him.
“Basically,” Ethan said and moved his spoon in the bowl.
“Why Tory called Clown Mr. Brown?” Kylie frowned.
Ethan stopped for a second. “Mr. Brown?”
“Yeah, he also told me Mr. Brown is a good doctor,” Kylie said. “Is there any misunderstanding?”
Ethan pulled his lips with disdain. “The name of Stephen’s housekeeper is Seth Brown.”
Kylie nodded with confusion. She wanted to say something again but closed her mouth.
When they were about to go upstairs, Kate called Kylie again, and everything went as Ethan had said to her.
“Kylie, we found Ben, and he’s fine. His father arranged a driver to pick him up and made a joke with the crew.”
“Oh.” Kylie glanced at Ethan. “Good to know that. I’ll join you tomorrow.”
“Great! See you!” Kate said.
Kylie walked ahead of Ethan. “You’re right. Nobody knows it’s you.”
She didn’t notice Ethan gave the housekeeper a look when they went upstairs.
“Mr. Parker.” The housekeeper interrupted them. “Vincent just called, and he needs to meet you right now.”
Ethan seemed displeased. “What’s up?”
“He didn’t tell me, but it sounds to be important,” the housekeeper said, looking nervous.
Kylie majored in acting, and he was stressed.
Seeing Ethan being displeased, Kylie thought he was unwilling to leave her because she was just back home for a short while. “It’s fine. Vincent probably wants to talk about Clown with you. I’ll wait for you right at home and won’t go anywhere else.”
Ethan still seemed reluctant to leave, so Kylie kissed his cheek to comfort him.
“Take a shower and wait for me,” he said at the end.
“Sure, be careful,” Kylie said with a broad smile.
Ethan didn’t relax at all until he was finally in the car.
He took the bottle of water from the housekeeper’s hand and drank half of it up.
“Let’s go.” He was exhausted, and a lot of thoughts ran through his head.
The doctor was shocked when he helped Ethan remove the clothing. The gauze bandages on his back, just stuck to his skin, and the wounds disappeared.
“What has happened?” The doctor looked to the housekeeper.
The housekeeper gave a quick glance at Ethan. “Don’t ask questions. Just remove the dressing!”
The doctor sighed, then brought the tray over to put on a new dressing even though the wounds were gone. ” Should I need to check your body?” He asked afterward.
He wanted to hear Ethan’s opinion despite some weird thoughts he had right now.
A large burned area on Ethan’s shoulders a few days ago had disappeared quickly. However, a red tender skin was visible, yet it still made him felt something usually with this man next to him.
“No need to put on any bandage, I am healed now,” Ethan’s voice sounds cold.
“Mr. Parker, I am afraid that your skin might get infected again if we aren’t going to put on some bandage,” The doctor said and picked up the scalpel.
Ethan growled, “I said I’m fine,”
“Mr. Parker, it is for your own good,” The doctor insisted.
Pissed off with the doctor’s words and don’t wanting to give him any doubt, he sighed, “Okay, fine. Do it quickly!”
The doctor advised Ethan to have an infusion of antibiotic drugs before he left. Though Ethan didn’t need it, he still nodded. His own body had an ability to cure alone, but for some reason, he won’t dare to explain to a normal human being like this doctor in front of him.
“Give me some medicines.” Ethan stood up and took his coat.
“Mr. Parker.” The housekeeper stood in Ethan’s way and whispered. “I know you ache to see Mrs. Parker right now, but you’re too seriously injured now. You’re inner power as a hybrid has been consumed that day. Aren’t you afraid Mrs. Parker will find out?”
Ethan stopped, then looked to the housekeeper and responded, “I’ll tell her the truth soon. I need to seize Stephen first?”
The doctor was silently looking at them. He had no idea what they talked about, but he suggested, “You need some infusion of antibiotics,” he repeated.
He could only advise Ethan to stay and have an infusion of antibiotic drugs because he thought Ethan was a normal human.
Ethan turned around, hesitated for a while, then asked, “Can I still have sex after that?”

Kylie heard a click when the door lock was opened and stuck out her head from the bathroom. “Oh, daddy is here!”
“Are you missing me?” Ethan walked over and kissed her, holding her face. “Be careful not to catch a cold.”
Kylie pulled him into the bathroom, then pointed in the mirror. “Look, I’m ugly now.”
She pushed her belly forward on purpose. “I’ll be uglier in the future.”
Ethan laughed a little. He wanted to touch her belly but was afraid his hands were too cold, so he just brushed it with his fingertips. “You’re as beautiful as usual, Kylie.”
Kylie beamed. “Really?” She rubbed her butt against his crotch. “You’re lying. You’re not aroused at all.”
Ethan’s chin rested on her shoulder, and his hot breath sprayed into her neck. “Touch it again.”
“Stop it!” Kylie laughed and turned to look at his face. He looked exhausted. “You must be very tired after a long day. Do you need me to help you with the shower?”
“Dry your hair first.” Ethan went back to the bedroom with Kylie in his arms.
His fingers passed through her wet hair, and the warm wind blew her scalp. Kylie soon felt sleepy.
When her hair was dry, she already fell asleep on Ethan’s arm.
Ethan lightly put the hairdryer down, then carried Kylie up in his arms.
He strode towards the big bed and put her down.
When he covered Kylie with the quilt, Kylie grabbed his hand in her while her eyes closed. “Ethan, do you have a fever?”
Ethan drew his hand back and tucked the quilt well. “Nope, the hairdryer warmed me up. Have some sleep. I need to read some documents.”
“Yeah, don’t work too long.” Kylie rolled her body and fell into a deep sleep.
Suddenly Ethan felt dizzy the second he walked out of the bedroom. He knew his inner strength was overused. He pressed his hand against the wall to support himself and didn’t feel better until a long while passed.
“Why does my body become weak?” He thought.
The housekeeper was always worried about Ethan’s body condition. When he was touring the house for inspection, he kept focusing on the master bedroom door.
Once Ethan appeared, he walked over without delay. “Mr. Parker….”
Before he could say something, Ethan made a hand gesture to tell him to be quiet to avoid Kylie from waking up.
“Bring me to the secret room. I need some blood!” He whispered.
The housekeeper nodded, then supported Ethan walking to the secret room.
The most severe injuries were on Ethan’s inner body, so he could only lie on his side on the sofa.
The housekeeper whispered, “Lord Ethan, I will be back. I need to get some blood to replenish body,”
Ethan didn’t have the strength to argue with him but just waved his hand.
The housekeeper walked outside to call someone who could bring special blood for Ethan. The man showed up in the secret room within 10 minutes.
When the liquid slowly flew into Ethan’s body, he was already in a coma.
“Lord. Parker, he…” The housekeeper was utterly anxious.
“His body has been deteriorating; he consumed a lot of his energy,” said the man.

The housekeeper thought to himself that Ethan left the hospital because he worries about his wife.

The doctor sighed, “Okay, but can we bring him to the hospital? He needed further observation,”
He paused for a while, then added, “Money can’t solve every problem. I can do my best.”
” We can’t take him away. Mrs. Parker didn’t know his condition. Please, stay here and cure him!” The housekeeper squeezed the doctor’s hand. “We can’t gamble on that. Please make sure that Mr. Parker will be safe and healthy.”
The doctor gave a glance at Ethan. He took a deep breath before he said, “I can only relieve Mr. Parker’s fever and infuse another antibiotic, but I dunno what is inside his body. He looked fine earlier before you both left the hospital. It would be best if you found the Ghost Doctor as soon as possible. As long as you can find him, Mr. Parker will be able to recover fully.”
“Ghost Doctor? Who was he?” The housekeeper asked.
“He was an expert with different kinds of illness,” the doctor responded and continued, “I think he can cure him,”
“Sure, give me the phone number of the Ghost Doctor now!” The housekeeper took out his mobile phone in a hurry.
“I told you he’s the Ghost Doctor, and nobody knows his real identity. I’m afraid I can’t help.” The doctor raised his outstretched hands.
“What?” The housekeeper was struck dumb.
Ethan moved a little on the sofa, and the doctor went to check him at once.
The housekeeper glanced at Ethan, then left the secret room.
He went to a quiet place and called Nate for help.
Nate was having night snacks in his home, so his voice wasn’t clear. “What?”
“Lord Nate, Lord. Parker is in terrible condition now.” The housekeeper almost cried.
“Is he seriously ill?” Nate got severe in a second. “Force him to go to the hospital right away if he’s in bad shape,”
“I’m afraid it’s useless now.” The housekeeper was fighting back the tears as he spoke.
“Do it now! Kylie is still missing, and Ethan won’t die,” Nate shouted to the phone.
“Mrs. Parker, s-she’s home now,” the housekeeper said.
Nate rounded his eyes in shock.
Kylie was Ethan’s emotional support. If he couldn’t see her, he would struggle to stay alive even though his inner strength suffering. However, once Kylie was back, he relaxed, and his condition would be worse than before.
It was a very terrible thing.
“Does Kylie know Ethan’s condition?” Nate asked.
“Yeah, but Mrs. Parker isn’t aware of how serious it is. Mr. Parker doesn’t allow us to tell Mrs. Parker,” the housekeeper replied.
“Bullshit!” Nate raised his voice. “Tell her. Tell her now!”

“Oh, right, I’ll wake Mrs. Parker right away.” When the housekeeper was about to hang up the call, he remembered the most important thing they needed to do now. “Um, Lord Nate, can you help me find a person? The doctor said only he could cure Mr. Parker now.”
“Who?” Nate asked.
“The Ghost Doctor,” the housekeeper said.
“F*ck!” Nate was silent for three seconds, then said, “Alright, I’ll try.”
Fannie looked at Nate. “Why? Is it hard to find him?”
“More difficult than you could think.” Nate sat at the bedside, trying to calm himself down.
“Fannie, do you know who is the Ghost Doctor?” Nate looked sorrowful.
“Stephen?” Fannie said a name.
Chapter 500: Feed Me
Nate nodded, “Indeed. That monster is the Ghost Doctor too. There’s something wrong with Ethan’s body, and I am afraid it has a connection with that evil man,”
Fannie noticed Nate clenched his fist, “Hey, Ethan will be okay, we need to find Stephen asap, as he is the only one that can help our race,”
Nate didn’t answer; however, he decided to swallow his pride and look for Stephen.

Kylie felt someone pushing her when she was still in her dream. “Mrs. Parker? Mrs. Parker!”
It wasn’t appropriate for the housekeeper to go inside, so he told Lucy to help him after transferring Ethan to the study room.
“Pupu?” Kylie opened her eyes. She sat up and yawned.
“Mr. Parker is in a terrible condition now,” Lucy said, and Kylie was wide awake in an instant.
“What did you say?” She stared at Lucy.
Lucy cried and told Kylie everything. “Mrs. Parker, Mr. Parker is in the … study room,”
Before she could finish, Kylie ran straight to the study.
Once she pushed the door open, she smelt strong disinfectant.
The doctor noticed Kylie and turned to look at the housekeeper. The housekeeper introduced her at once. “This is Mrs. Parker.”
“Oh, Mr. Parker’s immunity is low now. Please disinfect yourself before touching him.” The doctor handed Kylie a bottle of diluted alcohol.
Kylie washed her hands clean, then gently walked to the sofa.
Ethan’s face was abnormally red, and large drops of sweat rolled down from his forehead. Even the cushion under his head was wet with sweat.
“Ethan?” Kylie kissed his hand. “You’ll be fine.”
The housekeeper felt like crying again and turned around not to see the sad scene.
After having an infusion, Ethan gradually became conscious. He opened his eyes a little. When he found Kylie was by his side, he held her hand at once. “Why are you still awake?”
Kylie pouted. “You abandoned me alone and tolerated the pain yourself. Is it something you should do to your wife?”
Ethan’s sight fell on the housekeeper’s back, and the housekeeper stiffened all of a sudden.
Ethan understood what was going on, and he said to Kylie at the end, “I’m fine.”
Tears welled up in Kylie’s eyes. “You’re fine? Now you’re still telling me that you’re fine?”
Ethan did his best to raise his hand and pinched Kylie’s cheek. “Don’t worry, I won’t die before I see our ba…”
Without hesitation, Kylie covered his mouth to stop him from saying that.
Kylie raised a smile. “Have some water now.”
The housekeeper handed her a glass of water at once, then turned to face the wall again.
Ethan beamed at Kylie. “Feed me.”
Kylie glanced at the housekeeper, then the doctor, who was pretending to be busy. She had a mouthful of water and approached Ethan.
Ethan’s lips cracked, so Kylie comforted it with her tongue. Warm water flew into his mouth, and his Adam’s apple moved up and down.
“A little more,” he said.
Kylie didn’t hesitate and continued to feed water to Ethan with her own mouth.
“Have some sleep now.” Kylie lightly patted his big palm.
“I can’t sleep.” Ethan found it difficult to move his body.
“Let me help you wash your face.” Kylie stood up.
The was a bathroom in the study, but they seldom used it. The housekeeper brought a clean towel over, and Kylie washed it with warm water before using it.
“Ethan…” When she went back to the sofa, Ethan was already in a deep sleep.
Even though he was asleep now, Kylie still washed his face with great care.
When she washed the towel, Kylie asked the doctor, “Did he fall asleep or pass out?”
The doctor smiled. “I think he just fell unconscious again.”
“Well…” Kylie turned to look at Ethan.
“Mr. Parker wasn’t fully conscious just then, and it’s just a dream to him.” The doctor measured Ethan’s temperature again. “His temperature dropped a little, but it’s still not right. Mrs. Parker, if it’s possible, you can help him cool down physically.”
“I understand, thanks.” Kylie walked the doctor to the door in person.
Nate came on crutches at daybreak. “Where is he?”
“Don’t yell. Ethan might still be sleeping now.” Fannie knocked on his head.
Lucy welcomed and guided them to the dining room. “Please have some soup for breakfast. Mrs. Parker will be downstairs soon.”
“She’s still in her dream?” Nate snorted with disdain.
Lucy explained. “Mrs. Parker was by Mr. Parker’s side for a whole night, and she kept feeding water to him and wiping sweat off his body till Mr. Parker’s temperature is low now.”
Fannie placed a bowl of soup at Nate’s front, then asked Lucy, “How’s Kylie now? Is she injured?”
“No, Mrs. Parker is fine,” Lucy replied.
Seeing Nate staring at her, Fannie pushed the bowl forward a little. “You didn’t break your arm.”
Nate pulled his lips. “You didn’t treat me like that in the hospital.” Afterward, he ate the soup himself.
Half an hour later, Kylie went downstairs in clean clothing with her hair tied into a bun.
Nate hit the bowl against the dining table with great force, then questioned Kylie, “Ethan almost died because of you, and you’re going out in a new dress? Seriously?”
Fannie pulled Nate’s sleeve to stop him, but Nate raised his voice. “What? Am I wrong? If she had kept a distance away from Stephen, Ethan wouldn’t have been injured like that.”
Kylie stopped for a second, then kept on stepping downstairs. “No matter who has hurt Ethan for what reason, I’ll never forgive him.”
She walked to Nate and looked at his leg. “Thank you so much for what you’ve done. You’ve saved Ethan’s life. Please feel free to let me know whenever you need my help in the future.” Hearing that, Nate felt a little embarrassed.
“Ethan and I are close brothers. I don’t need you to thank me…” Nate lowered his voice, “but you still can’t leave Ethan behind and go out now.”
“Don’t say that. Kylie does that for a reason.” Fannie defended Kylie.
“What reason is more important than Ethan?” Nate argued.
Kylie sat down and prepared two bowls of soup. She placed one at the front of Fannie, then put another aside.
“I must ask for a leave from the director of Oh, Mother in person, and others can keep on shooting. I’ll go back to work again after Ethan gets better. Ben is also here with me, and I need to send him back.”
“Ben?” Fannie thought for a while. “Tory’s son?”
“Why do you send him back?” Nate hit the table standing up. “If we can’t catch Clown, we at least can catch Tory the asshole!”
“My father isn’t an asshole!” Ben showed up out of the blue. He walked to Kylie’s side and said with a serious face. “Mother Kylie, I’m not going back.”
“Why?” Kylie smiled. “Do you want to stay here and play with Pupu?”
“Didn’t father abduct Mother Kylie? You can hold me, hostage,” Ben said.
