Ch. 501..505: Fatal Kiss Of The Vampire Chapter 501-505
Chapter 501: Don’t Believe Him
Nate was struck dumb for a few seconds, then patted the back of Ben’s head. “You little funny boy!”
“My name is Ben!” Ben argued.
Kylie pulled Ben over to let him sit by her side. “Ben, you’re still a kid, and you don’t understand what adults are doing.”
Ben thought for a while, then said, looking at her, “I do. My father isn’t a bad person. Mother Kylie isn’t either…” He pressed his lips and added, “Neither is Mother Kylie’s husband.”
Fannie approached Kylie. “Since Ben doesn’t want to go back, it’s not a bad thing that he stays with us.”
“But…” Kylie hesitated.
“Probably Tory also wants his son to stay with you,” Nate said. “Ben’s much safer with you than by Stephen’s side.”
“I agree with you this time.” Fannie touched Nate’s face.
Nate rubbed his face against Fannie’s palm like a kitten.
“Do you need me to ask for leave for you as well?” Kylie asked Ben.
“Um, I can call Uncle Wyatt myself so that they won’t know I’m with you,” Ben said.
“Good boy! You’re a potential good agent.” Nate laughed.
After breakfast, Kylie went upstairs to check Ethan’s condition first. The medicine came into effect, and he was still in a deep sleep.
“I’ll do my best to come home before he wakes up,” Kylie said. “Please take good care of him.”
“Just go. I know what to do,” Nate said.
The housekeeper drove Kylie to the set, and Kate walked out at this moment. “Kylie!”
“Hi, Ms. Green.” Kylie greeted her with a smile.
“Ben just asked for leave, and Bill told us to have a break for a couple of days,” Kate said.
Kylie pretended to be surprised, but she knew there must be another reason. “Why? Even though Ben doesn’t come, we can shoot other scenes.”
“I know.” Kate looked around, then pulled Kylie aside. “The police came yesterday and caught Harvey for no reason!”
“Really?” Kylie said and stuck out three fingers. “Is it because of those girls in his room?”
“Well, there indeed were several girls in his room, but I don’t think the police are in charge of a person’s personal affairs,” Kate said.
“Who knows.” Kylie shrugged. “I’m swamped these days. It’s not bad news. I don’t need to ask for leave again.”
“Well, see you then when the shooting begins, Kylie.” Kate went into her nanny van.
Ethan was still in his sleep when Kylie was back in the Finch family’s house.
“Wow, you’re so quick.” Fannie was surprised.
“I think Harvey might be another victim of a magical pill. He’s caught by the police, and Bill isn’t in the mood of shooting,” Kylie said.
She disinfected her hands with alcohol, then walked to the sofa and touched Ethan’s forehead. “Why does he have a fever again?”
Fannie exchanged a glance with Nate. Nate pulled his lips, and Fannie pulled Kylie to the bathroom.
“Um, there is something we must tell you.”
“Just say it.” Kylie nodded. She understood they wanted to keep it a secret from Ethan.
“Ethan’s injuries are serious,” Fannie said.
“How serious are they?” Kylie had a hunch.
“His life is in danger,” Fannie said.
Kylie opened the door of the bathroom and glanced at Ethan. “Did the doctor tell you that?”
She had been by Ethan’s side all night yesterday. Although he had a high fever, she didn’t notice any deadly injuries on his body as he looked fine. But the intense heat unto Ethan was unexplainable. Why was his life in danger now?
“To be honest with you, Ethan is in a very terrible condition now, and you’ll know how serious his injuries are when the doctor comes to check him later,” Fannie said. “The point is that the only person who can save his life now is the Ghost Doctor.”
” What’s going to my husband? And who is that Ghost Doctor?” Kylie repeated it. “How can I find the person?”
“He’s right in your sight.” Fannie stared straight at her.
Kylie wasn’t dumb and thought of a name. She took a long breath in, then leaned on the door.
Given the current situation, neither Stephen nor Ethan would agree on the idea.
“Is there another way to solve this problem?” Kylie asked.
“I wish, but we don’t have right now,” Fannie raised her outstretched hands.
They stayed in the bathroom for a long time but repeated nothing.
Fannie felt for Kylie. It wasn’t an easy thing to choose between a man she loved and a man who loved her.
If she wanted to save Ethan’s life, she must turn to Stephen for help in person. However, she just escaped from his side, and it was very dangerous to go back again.
If Ethan knew Kylie risked her life for him, he would be mad.
Nate lightly knocked on the door of the bathroom. Although he didn’t dare criticize Kylie, he could blame Fannie for it. “Fannie, are you having diarrhea now?”
“Shut your mouth!” Fannie said, then patted on Kylie’s shoulder. “Kylie, no matter what your decision is, I’m with you.”
Kylie nodded. Whatever she was going to do, she must make a good plan at first.
They left the bathroom later, and Fannie argued with Nate again. Kylie, instead, knelt down before the sofa observing Ethan’s sleeping form.
She gently pulled his wrist and rolled the sleeve up, but it was stuck at his elbow.
Ethan woke up all of a sudden. “Kylie? Why are you here?” He struggled to sit up.
The doctor was right. Even though he had woken up a few times for water last night, he didn’t remember anything.
Before Kylie could answer it, Ethan noticed his sleeve rolled up, and he laid his arm down at once.
“Hi, Ethan, how do you feel now?” Nate used Fannie as a crutch jumping over.
Ethan glanced at him, then looked at Kylie. “Did he tell you?”
Kylie handed him a glass of water. “No, I found it out myself.”
Ethan’s throat got better after drinking up half of the water. “I’m fine. Don’t believe him.”
“What?” Nate was displeased. “Ethan, do you know…”
Right at this moment, Fannie covered Nate’s mouth to stop him talking. “Ethan, don’t be mad at him. You know he never grows up.”
Nate got rid of her hand. “What did you say?”
Chapter 502: You’re Not So Dumb
Nate and Fannie argued again, but the atmosphere became much more relaxed, and Kylie helped Ethan eat some soup.
“Does Vincent have any news?” Ethan asked for information on Clown once he felt a little better.
Nate raised his broken leg and shook it. “Look at my leg. Couldn’t I have a break?”
“If you have a break for a minute longer, there is another magical pill sold,” Ethan said.
“Fine, I’ll call him now,” Nate snorted and took out his phone from Fannie’s pocket.
“No need. Let’s go over together.” Ethan stood up.
“Ethan!” Kylie stopped him. “You still have a fever.”
She didn’t dare mention how terrible his condition was right now but was worried all the time.
Ethan smiled, then kissed Kylie. “I’m fine.”
“But…” Kylie was unwilling to let him leave.
“I’ll be back home as soon as possible.” Ethan glanced at Nate.
Nate had to get back to his feet and said the same thing to Fannie, “I’ll be back home as soon as possible too.”
Looking at the two injured men walking out, Fannie sighed. “Kylie, you and Ethan are a perfect match.”
“What do you mean?” Kylie asked.
“Ethan is as stubborn as you.” Fannie shook her head.

Inside the container at the dock of Seattle.
Stephen checked each medicine bottle before he packed it into a suitcase.
“Lord Stephen, you are the smartest man I’ve ever seen.” The housekeeper praised Stephen with a smile. “The most dangerous place is also the safest place. They couldn’t believe that we’ll come back here.”
“Don’t underestimate Ethan.” With a click, Stephen closed the cover and put the suitcase in the safe.
He asked without looking back, “Have you checked it?”
“Yes, I do.” The smile disappeared from the housekeeper’s face. “I’m sure the blood sample is Dinah’s, and the child must have been aborted given a large amount of blood she has lost.”
“As a doctor, your conclusion must be rigorous.” An evil light flashed by Stephen’s eyes.
“Sorry, it’s my fault.” The housekeeper bowed his head to admit his mistake, then peered at Stephen’s expression. “Someone saw Kylie on the set today.”
Stephen’s eyes moved, and he turned to look at the housekeeper. “How is she?”
A smug smile slipped by the housekeeper’s lips. “When I lit the fire, I had confirmed that there was no one nearby, and Kylie is safe.”
Stephen said in a cold tone, “Did you confirm whom she was rescued by?”
The steward was struck dumb for a second. “It must be Ethan.”
“Not really.” Stephen picked up a human skin mask and turned around, then walked out of the container base.
****
Once Ethan and Nate showed up, Vincent told his sidekicks to move a large sofa over in a hurry.
“There is no news on Clown for now, and both of you should have a full recovery. I just wonder why you seem so drained with energy after that injury. Haven’t you replenished your blood?” Vincent asked.
“I did take blood to restore my energy but something was wrong inside me. That’s the reason why I faint and become ill. My inner strength was like being trapped inside, and I can’t use it. I’m pretty sure there’s an explanation about this event later on. We need to find Clown, first,”
“Yeah, but he perfectly hid and planned everything ahead on us. “Ethan, I think the medicine that Stephen had created for us has other vital elements that can deteriorate our wolf form,”
Ethan glanced at Nate, “I didn’t take those medications. I just pretended to have it to investigate him,”
Nate was shocked upon hearing his statement, “You mean, you’re not affected with those medicines? How did you retain your human form without it,”
“I’m different from a normal wolf. Hybrid is capable of retaining human form, and when I transformed into a vampire-werewolf, my body first felt as cold as ice. The venom froze into a hard diamond form and then augmented my cells into a powerful hybrid better than that diamond form. My body began to burn like an intense fire, which perfected all physical features, including muscle mass, and my body became accustomed to the heat. My senses become more defined. Just that, I don’t know why I suddenly became weak when that tragic accident happened to us even though I took blood afterward. Maybe my mother has a literal explanation about it. I will surely ask her after we capture Stephen,”
Nate went silent. It was apparent that Ethan didn’t allow him to have a good rest.
“Did you find Tory’s base?” Ethan asked again.
“I’ve checked those cars you told me about. The only thing they have in common is that they have all been to the same auto repair shop,” Vincent reported to Ethan. “I suspect they changed cars in the auto repair shop.”
Nate dangled his broken leg looking at Ethan. “Ethan, if you want to know where Tory lives, go back and ask his little son.”
Ethan gave him a cold glance. “Ben is just a kid.” Nate pulled his lips. “You and Kylie have the same attitude.”
“Let’s check on Vincent,” Ethan strode away.
****
Vincent was surprised seeing them both, “Is Miss Finch…”
“Yeah, she’s home.” Nate turned to look at Vincent. “Safe and sound.”
Nate wasn’t very pleased when he said that because both he and Ethan were injured to rescue Kylie.
Ethan’s life was even in danger now, but Kylie safely came home on her own.
Vincent also understood Ethan’s injuries were very serious, but there was something he must report to him.
“Lord Ethan, the magical pill is quite popular these days, and many nightclubs are selling it right now. I heard a branch of the Police Bureau just caught a director today.”
Ethan seemed to be in a bad mood with a frown.
Tory came to Seattle not to strike a deal with him but to acquire the magical pill.
If Tory was Stephen’s major client, Stephen shouldn’t sell the magical pill to others but mainly supply it to Tory.
“Are you sure the ingredients of the magical pill are the same as before?” Ethan said all of a sudden.
He hit the point.
An idea dawned on Vincent. “Hurry up and do a urine test for the person we just caught!” He made an order to his sidekicks.
“Mother f*cker, did Clown first attract people to take medications with aphrodisiac drugs, then quietly replaced it with … real drugs?”
“He isn’t a usual smart person.” Nate glanced at Vincent, then said to Ethan,
“Ethan, the narcotics squad, will handle it, and you can go back to have a good rest. Once Clown ships the goods again, we’ll catch him and all of his people.”
Ethan stared at Nate. “Dinah is missing. How do you know when Clown will ship goods again?”
“Well…” Nate glanced at Vincent. Vincent, however, held his forehead with one hand to avoid meeting his eyes. He hadn’t heard from Dinah for a long time, so he couldn’t provide any useful information.
“Um…” Nate thought for a while. “Send someone to visit the auto repair shop you just mentioned, and try to set a monitor or something. Since we don’t know what Clown is going to do, we can focus on Tory.”
Nate wasn’t wrong, but the problem was that Tory wasn’t dumb at all, either.
It wasn’t easy to set a monitor at Tory’s place.
Vincent licked his lips. “Lord Nate, we’ve tried it but failed.”
Nate felt a little embarrassed, then turned to Ethan for help. “Ethan, what should we do now?”
“Try to get some clues from the surveillance cameras. Arrange some people to watch the auto repair shop 24/7 and investigate every car coming in and out it,” Ethan said.
“Yes, sir.” Vincent looked serious.
“In addition,” Ethan clenched his palms into fists, “search around every entertainment club to make Clown believe we’re distracted so that they’ll ship goods without concern.”
“I understand!” Vincent got excited.
A smart team leader could point out the right direction in an instant.
At this moment, Nate approached Ethan. “Ethan, shouldn’t we put some stress on Tory?” Ethan looked at him at a slow pace.
Nate was nervous at once, but Ethan smiled at him all of a sudden. “You’re not so dumb.”
Chapter 503: You’re Not So Dumb
Kylie had an appointment with Barbara after Ethan left the Finch family’s house.
She thought it was necessary to tell Ethan’s mother his terrible physical condition now.
To her astonishment, Barbara came, followed by Adolph.
“Wait right here!” Barbara said to Adolph with a bad attitude, and he stopped at once.
He was even more obedient than Pupu.
Kylie asked Barbara with surprise, “Mom, does old Mr. Parker…”
Barbara sat with Kylie a little far away from where Adolph stood, so he checked them once in a while through the gap between tree branches, in case Barbara disappeared in his sight the next second.
“It’ll make no difference even if old Mr. Parker knows,” Barbara sighed. “He refuses to leave me no matter how I treat him.”
Kylie thought to herself that Ethan should be as stubborn as his father, not her.
Both Adolph and Ethan were very adamant.
“How is Agnes?” Kylie asked.
Barbara shook her head. “I haven’t seen her yet, but I heard Stephen took her away.”
Knowing that Kylie sneered. For now, three parties all held a person hostage.
Tory had Dinah, they had Ben, while Stephen had Agnes.
“Agnes gave all the property under her name to Stephen, but Stephen transferred it to me,” Kylie said with a serious face. “I’ll return it to Ethan once he gets better.”
Barbara shook her head. “Don’t bother. Adolph has already asked the lawyer to go through the formalities. His assets, including the Empire Hotel, have been transferred to Ethan.”
She patted Kylie’s hand and said with a smile, “You and Ethan are husband and wife. It’s the same thing no matter the property under whose name.”
Kylie thought for a while, then told Barbara Ethan’s condition. “Ethan is in a very terrible condition now.”
Barbara frowned, yet she knew Ethan is not human, as Kylie thought, but as his mother, she can’t spill his secret to Kylie. She then looked to Adolph after a long while. “Come here.”
Adolph didn’t hesitate and strode over without delay. “May I help?”
“Ethan is seriously injured,” Barbara said. “If you can cure him, I’ll forgive you.”
Adolph’s eyes lit up at once, “Really?” He turned around and walked a few steps ahead before turning back. “No matter how I do it?”
“I don’t care what way you use, as long as he can go back to be healthy,” Barbara said.
Hearing that, Adolph left with happiness.
“Will you really forgive him?” Kylie asked with doubt.
The deeper a woman loved a man, the deeper she hated him.
Adolph had mistreated her that year, and it wasn’t easy for Barbara to let it go.
Barbara didn’t talk until Adolph was far away, “It’s been so many years after all. Besides, I don’t have to be back to his side even though I forgive him.”
Kylie was surprised and admired Barbara’s wits.
The second Adolph got in his car, and he called Stephen. “Where are you?”
“What can I do for you, father?” Stephen’s voice was as gentle as usual.
“Ethan’s injured now. Cure him right away, and I’ll let bygones be bygones,” Adolph said or ordered.
“Let bygones be bygones?” Stephen sneered. “My mother died because of you!”
Adolph was struck dumb for a second. “Your mother volunteered to have the surgery!”
“She had to donate a kidney or die!” Stephen almost shouted in anger. “You used her kindness and deceived her into entering the operating room, and? Only Agnes came out alive!”
“It was just a medical accident.” Adolph raised his voice, losing patience.
Stephen laughed all of a sudden. “Aren’t you afraid another medical accident will happen when I’m treating Ethan’s injuries?”
“How…” Before Adolph could say something else, Stephen hung up on him and dumped the phone into a trash can.
“To find out whether Ethan is really injured.” A touch of evilness flashed by Stephen’s eyes. “Wanna trap me? Impossible!”
“Yes, sir.” The housekeeper walked away.
When the door of the room was pushed open again, Agnes walked inside with a tray. “Stephen, time to have some food.”
She walked to the front of Stephen, but Stephen overturned the tray with great force. The hot food fell on Agnes’s body, and she shook in the heat.
“I-If y-you don’t like it. I-I can make something new for you.” Agnes’s eyes were full of fear, and her body was trembling in scare.
Stephen looked down at her face with arrogance. “Take good care of the part of my mother. We’ll give it back to her on the anniversary of her death.”
Agnes subconsciously touched her waist. She bit her lips, but didn’t dare utter another word, then escaped with the tray.
Stephen stood by the window, looking out to the broad ocean, but failed to calm himself down.
It was totally understandable that he wanted to take revenge for his mother, but he somehow felt a little guilty deep down in his heart.
He caught the frame of the window and squeezed it. “What I’m doing now is right! It’s right!”
In response to him, the oncoming wet sea breeze blew his windbreaker up, exposing a handkerchief in his shirt pocket. Stephen took it out and smelt it. “Kylie, I’ll come to you soon.”
***
Kylie made a loud sneeze.
“Do you feel cold?” Ethan walked in from the outside and left his coat to the housekeeper.
“How do you feel now?” Kylie walked upstairs, holding his hand. “The doctor is waiting for you in the study.”
“I’m good.” Ethan smiled.
Seeing Ethan in a good mental state, the doctor thought his medicine was effective and felt slightly proud of himself.
However, when he removed Ethan’s shirt, he realized he was wrong.
Ethan’s festering skin looked swollen, and wounds were visible. Ethan himself couldn’t explain such an abrupt change of his body.
Kylie stood right behind Ethan. She covered her mouth in great shock.
Ethan seemed calm, but he actually was suffering inhuman torture, and she was the cause of it!
“I’m so sorry…” Kylie knelt down before Ethan, holding his hands. “It’s all my fault. My fault…” She almost cried.
When Kylie was distracting Ethan, the doctor began to shave the carrion off with a scalpel.
“It’s not your fault. I-I wasn’t cautious enough.” Sweat covered Ethan’s forehead at once, but there was still a faint smile on his lips.
Kylie could feel that he was doing his best not to moan in pain.
She squeezed his hands to make him feel safe.
Although it was painful to move the carrion off and a burning sensation began to penetrate his cells, it was even more intolerable when the doctor disinfects wounds with hydrogen peroxide.
Ethan could barely stand the pain, and he got rid of Kylie’s hands to catch his knees tight.
Without hesitation, Kylie stood up and kissed him.
Chapter 504: You’re Stephen
Kylie pulled Ethan’s hands and laid them on her waist.
Ethan pressed her to his chest and let her sit on his knees.
They enjoyed their passionate kiss while the doctor was treating the wounds. Kylie could feel the burning heat from his mouth, but she ignored it. Ethan, too, trying to suppress his wolf form to any moment might come out because he hadn’t told her his secret.
After wrapping gauze bandages, both the doctor and Ethan were dripping with sweat.
“Remember to take anti-inflammatory drugs regularly. Mrs. Parker, if Mr. Parker catches a fever again, please contact me.” The doctor carried his medical tools, walking out in a hurry, but the housekeeper stopped him when he reached the door. “Be honest with me.”
“I …” The doctor glanced at a room on the second floor and sighed, “It’s the first time I’ve ever seen Mr. Parker being so strong. I honestly lost for a while because before he left earlier, his wounds had disappeared, but when he came back, it turns out it was there again. I can’t explain it scientifically what’s going on with him,”
“Just tell me the truth.” The housekeeper looked serious and didn’t dare to answer the doctor’s doubt.
“Well.” The doctor frowned. “Given Mr. Parker’s condition now, there is only a month left until the infection is out of control.”
“Don’t tell anyone else.” The housekeeper also frowned.
“Of course, I won’t.” The doctor ran outside.
If Ethan died in his hands, he would be doomed as well.
When the housekeeper was back in the room, Kylie already wiped Ethan’s body clean and helped him put on dry clothing.
Ethan sat on the sofa, chewing fruits Kylie fed to him. Hearing the sound of opening the door, they turned to look over with one accord.
The housekeeper wiped his eyes before he said with a smile, “Mr. Parker, you look great today.”
Kylie also smiled. “I think so.” Afterward, she squeezed another piece of fruit into Ethan’s mouth.
Ethan coughed before he swallowed it. “Don’t you need to go back to the set?”
“Harvey was caught because he’s on the drug, and we can have a break,” Kylie replied.
“Harvey?” Ethan thought for a while. “Harvey Lucas?”
“Yeah, his older brother is Bill Lucas, who’s Tory’s friend,” Kylie said.
Ethan wore a sarcastic smile and nodded.
“I need to deal with something now.” Ethan stood up. Kylie thought he was going out again and stopped him at once. “You just got back home!”
“Don’t worry. I just need to give a call in the study.” Ethan kissed her forehead, then went upstairs.
Watching Ethan walking into the study, Kylie didn’t turn to face the housekeeper until its door was closed. “Did the doctor tell you that Ethan is in a terrible condition?”
The housekeeper was struck dumb for a second, then lightly nodded with tears in his eyes.
“Don’t cry. Ethan will find it out,” Kylie said in a gentle voice. “I’ll figure out another way.”
“Mrs. Parker, please find the Ghost Doctor as soon as possible,” the housekeeper whimpered, then walking back to his room, wiping his eyes. He can’t imagine his Lord Ethan might die. He wanted to talk to Barbara ang consult Ethan’s condition, but he was so anxious to do it since Ethan didn’t like someone to decide for him.
Kylie took out her phone but put it back after thinking for a while.
She had an agreement with Tory, and she couldn’t expose his location.
In the public telephone hall not far from the house, Kylie dialed a phone number.
“Miss Finch, we do connect with each other. I was about to call you too.” Tory’s beautiful voice sounded.
“Um, Tory, can you lend your doctor to me?” Kylie asked with hesitation.
Tory smiled. “It’s my honor to serve you, Miss Finch. May I know where you feel uncomfortable?”
“I…” Kylie licked her lips. “You know I’m carrying twins now, and my private doctor is Clown, you’ve told me. I can’t turn to him for help, nor go to the hospital right now.”
“Do you mean you want my doctor to do the prenatal examination for you?” Tory didn’t believe it. “Miss Finch, I think Mr. Parker is rich enough to afford a good family doctor, right?”
Kylie understood she failed. “Alright, you win. Can you tell me Dinah’s condition now?”
Tory talked to a person by his side in Italian for a while, then said to Kylie, “Although you lied to me, I’m still willing to help you.”
Kylie flushed in an instant. Tory was much smarter than she thought.
“Well, I’m taking good care of your son, so you can send your doctor to see whether he’s safe. It’s fair,” Kylie said.
“It’s true.” Tory laughed a little. “Miss Finch, you’re brilliant. Did Mr. Parker teach you that?”
“Stop joking about me. How can I contact your doctor?” Kylie smiled as well.
“He’ll wait for you at my auto repair shop,” Tory said.
“Thanks.” Kylie hung up the call and took a long breath out.
She had hope again. Probably this Italian doctor could help them.
It was very late, and Kylie didn’t see a taxi at all after waiting by the roadside for 20 minutes.
She lifted her collars up and kept warming her hands by breathing into them. God perhaps heard her pray, and a car finally stopped by her side. “Miss, where are you going?”
The car window was rolled down, and Kylie glanced at the inside.
The driver was a middle-aged man with a big belly and dangled a cigarette from his thick lips. The seat looked greasy.
Kylie determined it was an unlicensed taxi within a second.
She usually wouldn’t take this kind of taxi, but she must find the Italian doctor tonight, so she summoned up her courage. “To the nearby auto repair shop.”
The driver threw the cigarette butt out of the car window. “Get in.”
Kylie sat on the rear seat and quietly touched the car lock. It was an old car, so the car door couldn’t lock itself.
She felt a little safe because she was able to jump outside if anything dangerous happened.
The smell of smoke in the car was hefty, so Kylie lowered the car window and faced out.
“It’s cold at night. You better close the window.” The driver glanced at the rear-view mirror.
“Sorry, I have car sickness,” Kylie said.
It indeed was freezing, and Kylie’s face soon was frozen in the wind.
Suddenly, Kylie felt the warm wind in the car, and she rolled the car window up at once. “Thanks.”
“Aren’t you afraid of danger? Why do you come out alone?” The driver said. “If you met a bad guy, you could be hurt.”
Kylie lifted her collars up. “Well, I think there are more good people than bad people in this world.”
The driver glanced at her, then shook his head with disdain.
Around 15 minutes later, they arrived.
Kylie felt grateful that she met a good man, giving him much more money than the taxi fee. “Thank you so much. Please keep the change.”
The driver put the money on the windshield, then opened his mouth as if he was saying to himself. “Some kill others, which is believed to be a good deed; Some kill others, which is believed to be a bad deed. Rich people buy organs with money as they like, while poor people sell their organs for the money left no choice.”
The taxi started again, and Kylie went to pull its handle without delay.
“Stephen! You’re Stephen!”
Chapter 505: Vincent Suspicion
Kylie moved a little slower, and the driver waved goodbye to her from the car window.
The rolling shutter door of the auto repair shop moved up at a slow pace, and a repairer walked out of it.
He looked at the direction to which the taxi left, then turned to face Kylie. “Miss, do you come here to pick your car?”
“Nope.” Kylie smile. “I come to pick a person up.”
“A person?” The repairman rubbed his nose, then walked inside.
Seeing the rolling shutter door falling down again, Kylie didn’t know what to do.
At the same time, the surveillance camera at the road turned to focus on her.
“Vincent, there is a woman in the picture!” Vincent’s colleague called him.
Vincent ran to the computer and enlarged the picture at once. He was struck dumb when he saw Kylie’s face.
He just had a call with Ethan and made a bold guess about the fact that Harvey was on drugs too.
If Tory got the magical pill, he would find someone to test it first, and nobody was more suitable than Harvey in his eyes.
Nate proposed to put some stress on Tory by driving a wedge between him and Bill.
Vincent also put out feelers to see whether Ethan trusted Kylie completely.
Kylie’s relationships with others were really embarrassing after all.
First, Harvey was the director of the new show Kylie was cast in, and she could easily persuade him to try the magical pill.
Second, Kylie had been abducted by Stephen before, but how did she manage to come back home safely?
Third, Kylie told them Dinah had a full recovery, but nobody had seen Dinah except her.
However, no matter how suspicious Vincent was towards Kylie, Ethan always said that he trusted Kylie.
Why did Kylie went to Tory’s base late at night?
Unfortunately, they couldn’t hear the voice, so they didn’t know what Kylie was talking to the repairer.
“Focus on her!” Vincent made an order. He wouldn’t allow Ethan to be hurt because of Kylie again!
Kylie waited outside for a long time, but nobody came out of the auto repair shop.
She left in a hurry, so she didn’t carry her phone with her. What was worse, she just gave the taxi driver all the money she had, and now she couldn’t contact Tory.
Right when Kylie felt cornered, a familiar figure staggered over in her sight.
“Faith?” Kylie was surprised.
Hearing someone call her, Faith turned to look over but couldn’t see Kylie clearly.
She stumbled ahead for a few steps, then laughed. “Oh, I was wondering who you are. What? Do you come here to make fun of me?”
Kylie pinched her nose in annoyance. “Faith, how much have you drunk?”
“J-Just a little,” Faith said, but she barely could stand on her feet.
Kylie got angry, seeing Faith abandon herself like that. “Faith, I gave you money so that you can run a small business and live a steady life, but you disappoint me!”
“Money?” Faith sneered. “You gave me money? Did I hear it right? Come on, you don’t need to donate money to me.”
Faith picked her ear and leaned on a telephone pole to support herself. “I did have drunk a lot, but I’m not drunk! Kylie Finch, I admit that I betrayed you, and I’m jealous of you, but I’ve never stabbed your back except for the fact that I left you.”
She exhaled a breath of white smoke and looked up, saying, “I also want to live a good life and be outstanding. I-I also want… I hate looking up to you all the time! Well, I just realized that I’m nobody once I left you!”
Faith talked without logic and almost fell down to the ground.
Kylie supported her at once. “Faith, you’ve done nothing wrong if you just want to be outstanding, but you chose the wrong way and even refused to correct the mistake you made.”
Faith fixed her eyes at Kylie for a long time, then burst into tears all of a sudden.
She slipped to the ground, hugging Kylie’s legs, crying out loud, “Kylie, you should ignore me. You shouldn’t care about me…”
Kylie couldn’t move her up but squat on the ground to keep her company.
When Faith almost stopped crying, Kylie said, “Don’t abuse alcohol again. I’ll transfer some money to your bank account later, and you can pay it back to me along with the amount I’ve given you last time.”
“What?” Faith raised her head. “When did you give me money?”
Kylie frowned. “Didn’t Lucas give you 20 thousand dollars?”
“Twenty thousand dollars?” Faith was also confused. “I haven’t seen Lucas for a long time, let alone the money.”
Kylie sensed something must be wrong, and she didn’t have time to meet Lucas these days either.
“Forget it, I’ll transfer the money to your bank account later.” Kylie stood up and helped Faith get back to her feet.
Faith wiped her eyes and asked, “Why are you out alone late at night? Did you argue with Lord Ethan?”
“No, I didn’t,” Kylie said, and an idea dawned on her. “Your place isn’t far away, right? Let’s go to your home first and give me 20 dollars for taking a taxi.”
Faith beamed. “Exchange 20 thousand dollars with just 20 dollars. Great deal!”
Kylie stayed outside for nearly an hour.
The moment she went back to the Finch family’s house, she saw Ethan along with Nate, Vincent, and others sitting together in the living room. Everyone looked serious. Except Ethan, other people were all staring at her.
“Do you still have to have a meeting now? It’s very late,” Kylie joked, but the atmosphere in the living room became more stressful.
Nate pulled his lips and moved his eyes away from Kylie.
Vincent stared straight at Kylie like she was a criminal.
Kylie got nervous. She put on her slippers, then walked to the back of Ethan. “Do you feel a little better?”
However, when she was about to lay her hands on his shoulders, Ethan lowered his shoulders and avoided her hands in silence.
Kylie felt embarrassed in front of so many people, but she soon composed her face. “Well, I’ll leave you all to your work.”
Afterward, she said to Ethan, “Don’t work too late.”
Ethan didn’t bother to give her a look and focused on the laptop in his hands all the time.
Kylie walked away by Ethan’s back, trying to peek at what he was watching.
Nevertheless, Nate made a cough when she just moved her eyes, so she had to draw her sight back.
Once she was in the bedroom, Kylie locked the door and called Tory without delay.
Tory also sounded displeased on the phone. “Why do you contact me with your own phone?”
“How could you question me like that now? You told me to pick the doctor up, but I didn’t see him at all!” Kylie got anxious. “You know I slipped out, and you still stood me up. How should I explain it to Ethan?”
Before Tory could say anything, Kylie heard a hoarse and cold voice behind.
“How do you want to explain it to me?”
