Chapter 506: She Wouldn’t Allow Him To Die
With a clear sound, the phone slipped down from Kylie’s hand to the floor.
“Ethan, h-how did you…” Kylie raised a smile, looking at the tall, strong man standing by the door.
She remembered that she just locked the door. How did Ethan get in? She wanted to ask him how he managed to break in the locked door, yet her thought was in a mess.
How much had he heard about her talk with Tory on the phone?
What should she say now?
“What? Shouldn’t I get in right now?” Ethan moved a step forward to the front of Kylie. “Should I read documents in the study right now? Should I be asleep now?”
“No matter what I’m doing now, I shouldn’t have found out that you slipped out, right?”
“No.” Kylie stepped backward in a panic. “I-I-I, it’s Faith!”
Kylie smiled and held Ethan’s hand. “Faith wanted to meet me. She doesn’t live a good life now, so I…”
Ethan drew his hand back and picked Kylie’s phone up.
Kylie almost dashed to grab it away.
However, when she just moved, Ethan raised his arm up high.
He read her call records, but the phone number Kylie just dialed turned out to be a line of asterisks.
Ethan stared at her in silence.
Kylie got nervous, and the smile froze on her face. She thought to herself that Ethan didn’t know Faith’s phone number anyway.
“Faith?” Ethan opened his mouth.
“Y-Yeah.” Kylie did her best to calm herself down, but her heart was in her throat now.
She watched Ethan pressing the button to call back.
“Beep, beep…”
Kylie clenched her hands into fists, praying to God for help.
The next second, a female voice sounded from the phone, and Kylie almost collapsed to the bed in fear.
“Sorry, the number you dialed can not be connected for the moment. Please redial later. Sorry, …”
There was a layer of sweat on Kylie’s back, and she put on an embarrassed smile.
“Well, I guess the signals are a little weak there. I’ll call her again later.”
Ethan hung up the call and squeezed her phone in his big palm. He looked mad, fixing his eyes at Kylie’s face.
“Go to bed. It’s very late.” Ethan left the phone on the table and walked out of the bedroom.
Seeing him walking away, Kylie felt like crying.
She just wanted to find a good doctor to treat Ethan, but it didn’t go well as she hoped. No matter how suspicious he was of her, she couldn’t tell him the fact that he was about to die.
The door of the bedroom was closed tight.
Kylie sank down to the bed. She covered her head in the quilt, then cried out.
Ethan couldn’t die!
She wouldn’t allow him to die!
Ethan, instead, stood still for a long while outside the door. He knew she’s upset and cried, but he can’t tell him the truth right now. He still hasn’t figured out how his body suddenly deteriorated, and even his inner wolf-vampire form was suppressed from inside.
Kylie just lied to his face, but he can’t argue with his wife since he himself has a dark secret.
She had Faith’s phone number in her phone, but the number she just dialed was connected to an anti-tracking system.
Vincent just showed him the surveillance video of her.
Ethan was upset, but he still chose to trust her.
He believed that his woman would never betray him!
Nate looked upstairs, then sighed, “Vincent, what does Kylie want to do?”
“Is she a covered agent sent by Stephen to Ethan’s side?” Vincent said in a low voice. “Ouch!”
Nate hit the back of Vincent’s head. “Are you insane?”
“Then how do you explain it?” Vincent rubbed his head and felt a little embarrassed because Nate did that right in front of his sidekicks.
“I think she’s doing something for Tory,” Nate said with certainty.
Hearing that, Vincent’s sidekicks turned their heads to another side with one accord. It was a ridiculous conclusion in their eyes.
When they heard footsteps on the stairs, everyone sat up straight with a serious look.
Ethan was coming.
“It’s very late now. Go back to have a rest.” He glanced around them, who looked surprised.
Nate stood up at first. “Ethan, have a good rest. See you then.”
After that, he gave Vincent a knowing eye, and Vincent said in a hurry, “Oh, right, Lord Ethan, we should leave now, and we’ll report the latest news to you if there is any.”
Once they walked out of the Finch family’s house, Nate pulled Vincent. “Follow me to a place.”
“Where?” Vincent asked.
“To find Faith.” Nate wore a cunning smile. “If Kylie is a covered agent by Ethan’s side, we can also set a spy by her side.”
“Will it work?” Vincent drove the car in person.
“Let’s see!” Nate seemed confident.
When the sound of the car engines outside was gone, the villa was quiet again. Kylie washed her face and sat on the bed, waiting for Ethan to have a serious talk with her.
However, Ethan was still absent after she had waited for a long time.
Kylie couldn’t wait any longer at 1 am, and searched for Ethan one room after another until she met the housekeeper at the door of the study. “Where is Ethan?”
“Mr. Parker is changing his dressing inside,” the housekeeper replied.
“I need to see him.” Kylie walked ahead, but the housekeeper stopped her.
“Mrs. Parker, Mr. Parker said he needed quietness for a while.”
“I promise I won’t say a word. I just want to keep his company,” Kylie said at once.
The housekeeper glanced at Kylie, then lowered his head in silence.
Kylie understood it. “He doesn’t want to see me, right?”
The housekeeper remained silent.
“Great, I can wait right here.” Kylie sat cross-legged on the floor. The housekeeper glanced at her but didn’t know what to say. He pushed the door and walked inside, then gently closed it.
Ethan sat on the sofa, gasping for breath while he was in his wolf form, “Is she gone?”
“Nope.” The housekeeper wiped Ethan’s face with a warm, clean towel. “Mrs. Parker is sitting on the floor now, and…”
Ethan interrupted him. ” I’ll be back soon.” he disappeared in split seconds without giving the housekeeper any information. He went out using his invisible power to look for Stephen.
“He was gone again,” The housekeeper didn’t dare say another word and went outside. Kylie, still there, sat in silence.

After almost two hours, he appeared back in the study room, failed to find a hint about Stephen. He called the housekeeper to pick up his doctor. The doctor was shocked when Ethan’s housekeeper showed up out of the blue to pick him up-arriving at the Finch family house; he saw Kylie silently sitting by the door in the study room. He wanted to ask her, but the housekeeper told him to hurry. They went inside and left Kylie alone. Once he got in, he quickly did his task, changed the medicine once the previous one was done, and measured Ethan’s temperature. After that, he would step backward to a corner.
It was already daybreak when Ethan finished the infusion of three bottles.
The second the housekeeper opened the door to walk the doctor out, he saw Kylie leaning on the wall in sleep.
He pressed his lips, then slightly raised his voice. “Please, this way.”
Kylie moved her eyelids but didn’t open her eyes. She didn’t get back to her feet until she was sure both the housekeeper and the doctor were gone.
“Oh, my legs.” Her legs were numb now, and she had to move inside by supporting herself on the wall.
Ethan was still in his sleep, lying on the sofa.
Kylie touched his beautiful features with a smile on her lips. “Trust me, and you’ll get better and better.”
Her cold fingers fell on his chapped lips, then turned to have a mouthful of water to feed it to Ethan.
She moved near to Ethan. In case the water flew out from his mouth, she gently raised his jaw up.
All of a sudden, she found Ethan staring at her!
Chapter 507: I Care About You
Caught by him, she acted like a little kitten. “Ahem! Honey, I… I want to feed you some water. Your lips were dry,” Kylie swallowed the water down herself in shock.
Afterward, she stood up at a slow pace gazing into space. She felt like crying when Ethan didn’t answer.
“The water is so sweet!” Kylie smacked her lips, then walked out of the room in Ethan’s remains silent, as nothing had happened. He wanted to grab and hug her, but he doesn’t know how to face her after ignoring her the whole night. He was mad at her after she lied to him. Kylie left in silence without looking at him.
The housekeeper ran into Kylie at the door and pretended to be serious. “Mrs. Parker, are you…”
“Oh, it is sweet.” Kylie ignored the housekeeper and went into her bedroom.
The housekeeper was struck dumb for a long while and felt confused.
At this moment, Ethan made several coughs inside.
The housekeeper strode in at once. “Mr. Parker, may I help?”
Ethan did his best not to laugh and said in a deep voice, “Give me a glass of water.”
“Sure,” the housekeeper said.
Ethan sat up on the sofa and pinched the middle of his eyebrows. He was still mad at Kylie.
It couldn’t be more obvious that Kylie was hiding something from him, but he just couldn’t vent his anger on her. He wanted to read her mind, yet his inner strength was being suppressed, and that added another pressure to him. He wanted to find out who sealed his power and why his body was gradually losing its nature to heal.
He kept telling himself that Kylie wasn’t doing something bad behind his back, but something that will benefit him.
Thinking of what she just did, Ethan was amused and beamed.
“Mr. Parker?” The housekeeper handed Ethan a glass of water.
Ethan held the glass in his palms and asked, “Has she stayed outside the door all the time?”
“Yes, Mrs. Parker has stayed outside by the door all the time. I walked the doctor out just then and thought Mrs. Parker was still asleep, so I didn’t close the door.”
Ethan shook his hand. He understood the housekeeper did that on purpose. “Go have some rest.”
“Thanks, Mr. Parker.” The housekeeper left the study but didn’t walk far away. He witnessed Ethan stepping towards the master bedroom from the study, then went back to his own room with a broad smile on the face.
They still loved and cared about each other.
Kylie hid in the quilt and didn’t dare move at all when the door was pushed open.
She peeked out from the gap between the quilt and the bed. Ethan was standing by the door.
After a few steps, he sat by her side on the bed.
Kylie got nervous and closed her eyes tight.
First, she was afraid Ethan might find out she was pretending to be asleep. Second, she was worried she might touch the wounds on his back.
Ethan lay down on the bed and didn’t move again. He breathed heavily at the beginning, then his breath became steady.
Kylie waited for a long time.
She felt her limbs were getting numb, and moved a little, then focused on Ethan’s breath.
He was still quiet.
He must be asleep now.
Kylie turned her head.
Ethan did not react.
Seeing that, Kylie got bold and uncovered herself to see Ethan’s face.
However, she closed her eyes without delay the moment she glanced at his face.
Ethan wasn’t asleep at all but stared straight at her!
There was no need to pretend anymore, so Kylie opened her eyes and summoned up her courage to meet Ethan’s eyes. “Why are you looking at me?”
“Why are you looking at me?” Ethan’s voice was still hoarse.
Kylie was struck dumb for a second, then said, “I care about you.”
“Me too,” Ethan said lightly.
Hearing that, Kylie felt like crying. She held his hand and said, “Ethan, your brothers are all suspicious of me.”
She laid her head on his broad chest. “There is something I can’t tell you right now, but please trust me. I always side with you.”
Ethan moved a little, then hugged Kylie in his arms.
“Did you make a deal with Tory?” His voice was low but sounded certain. “Dinah is still in his hands.”
Kylie pulled Ethan’s hand to cover her raised belly. “Ethan, not only has Stephen aborted Dinah’s baby, but he also has removed her uterus. It’s impossible for Dinah to be pregnant again during this life.”
“So you helped Tory keep it a secret from her?” Ethan squinted and snorted, “Dinah is much more sensitive than she looks. She knew Stephen liked you a long time ago, but she was still willing to marry him. You can’t hide the truth from her for a long while.”
“Well, at least we can’t tell her right now,” Kylie said. “She’s in a very bad condition now.”
“What does Tory want you to do?” They finally hit the point.
Kylie kissed his jaw. “Can we drop this topic? I don’t want to lie to your face again.”
Ethan didn’t say another word but gently rubbed the top of her head with his jaw.
Kylie whispered, “I wasn’t talking to Faith just then. It’s a lie, and I found I have to make up endless lies once I lied to you at the beginning.”
Ethan bit her cheek. “We can drop that topic.”
“Ethan, I love you.” Kylie kissed him back. “I promise I’ll figure out a way to cure your wounds.”
“I’m fine.” Ethan pressed her to his chest. “Don’t worry about me. I can be cured.”
Kylie covered her head in his chest and felt like crying, hearing his gentle voice.
“Am I in a terrible condition?” Ethan raised her jaw when he felt the warm wetness on his chest.
Kylie burst into tears and covered her head into his chest again.
Ethan hugged her and patted her back to comfort her, but his eyes were full of hatred and determination out of Kylie’s sight. He wanted to end Stephen’s evilness and start to focus his life with her.
He wouldn’t let Stephen destroy many lives and take his baseless revenge!
It was also impossible that he would allow him to steal his woman away!
Stephen, let’s see!
They fell asleep together later.

The next morning, Kylie pulled Ethan to the bathroom once they got up. “Let me help you shave your mustache.”
Ethan looked at himself in the mirror. There was only some new stubble around his jaw, and it wasn’t long. Since Kylie proposed to shave it for him, he would love to enjoy it.
As soon as the soap bubbles covered his chin, someone knocked on the door.
“Mother Kylie, may I come in?” Ben’s tender voice sounded outside the door.
“Come on in!” Kylie said. “I’m in the bathroom.”
Ben opened the door of the master bedroom, followed by Pupu. Pupu then stood on its hind legs and pushed the door of the bathroom open.
“Oh, Mother Kylie’s husband, how old are you? Why do you still need Mother Kylie to bathe you?” Ben covered his eyes with his little hands.
Kylie was amused and laughed out loud. “Ben, I’m just shaving his stubble.”
Ben, instead, looked very serious. “You’re not. When my father bathes me, he makes bubbles like that as well!”
Chapter 508: It Taste Good
Tory rubbed his nose while he was eating.
Nina looked over and asked, “Mr. Romeo, did I put too much pepper?”
“Nope, it’s fine.” Tory smiled like a gentleman. “It tastes good.”
Nina also smiled. “Um, my father just called yesterday, and he would like to know when will you be free?”
“We can talk about business when we’re back in Italy,” Tory said, and cut off a piece of steak, then put it into his mouth.
The smile froze on Nina’s face. She nodded and asked again when she raised her coffee. “What if it’s something personal?”
She had been by Tory’s side for a whole year till now, and she was the only woman who could stay by his side for so long.
Tory was also very generous to her and willing to satisfy her any needs as to the basic necessities of life.
Therefore, she didn’t care about her title.
However, ever since Kylie had appeared, she suddenly had a strong sense of crisis.
Tory never allowed anyone to call him his given name, but Kylie could. Except that Tory even had prepared breakfast for Kylie in person but told her it was cooked by the chef.
Ben was attached to Kylie very much now, so Nina thought Tory might soon dump her because of Kylie.
Tory chewed the steak at a slow pace. He didn’t open his mouth again until he swallowed it down. “No personal affairs.”
Nina was disappointed and mad but didn’t dare show her real feelings on her face.
After lunch, she went back to their room and flushed all the rest of the birth control pills down the toilet.
Even if she couldn’t stay by Tory’s side forever, she at least should carry his baby. In that case, they would be connected to each other permanently.

Kylie wanted to go out with Ethan but gave the idea up once she remembered his brothers’ suspicions of her.
“Take care and take medicines,” she said to him with worries.
Ethan reached out his arm from the car window and smoothed Kylie’s hair. “Take care of yourself too.”
“I will.” Kylie watched the car leaving her sight, then called Lucas.
When she asked Lucas about the 20 thousand dollars she told him to give Faith face to face, Lucas stammered, “I-I did. I gave it to her, and she felt happy.”
“Oh, really?” Kylie had a cup of warm milk in her palm. “I met Faith yesterday.”
“Oh.” Lucas stiffened in anxiety.
“If you need money, you can just tell me.” Kylie sipped her milk. “Why did you do that to Faith?”
Lucas knelt down before Kylie all of a sudden.
“Kylie, I’m sorry. I-I’m so sorry. I didn’t know what to do.” He cried. “M-My boyfriend. He…”
Kylie stared at him. Lucas’s boyfriend was involved in politics. Was it possible that his boyfriend was caught?
“Calm down, and tell me everything.” Kylie pulled him up.
Lucas snuffled, then said, “His friends brought him to a nightclub once before, and he got unusually excited after he came back. He even told me that we could get a marriage license in Canada one day in the future.”
“However, he changed afterward and easily lost his temper. He refused to work, nor eat, and swore at me all day at home.”
“Is the nightclub named the Earth Nightclub?” Kylie squeezed the cup in her hands.
“Right, it is the Earth Nightclub!” Lucas continued, “I got to know it was the side effect of the magical pill later, so I tied him up at home. I did everything to help him get rid of it but failed.”
“I didn’t have the heart to see him being tortured by it, and you gave me much money that time, so I went to buy a magical pill at the Earth Nightclub with it.”
Kylie understood how hard it was to get rid of the magical pill and got worried. “How is he now?”
“He went back to normal after taking a pill but got worse within a week! I…” Lucas glanced at Kylie with a feeling of guilt.
“I admit that I had a bad idea in my mind and wanted to embezzle some money to buy more pills for him, but the magical pill was out of stock all of a sudden.”
“I was afraid he would cause more trouble, so I tied him up again at home.”
“The magical pill is back on the market now, and its price is much lower, s-so I used my savings to buy a few for him. He can go to work like a normal person now.”
Knowing that, Kylie sighed. The magical pill indeed was very harmful.
“Well, just take the money as the reward for your job,” Kylie said at the end.
“What? Are you going to fire me?” Lucas knelt down before Kylie once again. “Please, I promise I didn’t embezzle a cent at all!”
Kylie put the cup on the table and pulled Lucas up. “I’m not going to fire you, but you should have a long vacation,” Kylie said with a serious face. “The magical pill is a kind of addictive drug, and you have to help him get rid of it as soon as possible.”
“But…” Lucas was anxious.
“You’re killing him by letting him take it.” Kylie looked at Lucas. “Think about it twice.”
Lucas wiped his eyes. When he walked outside, he turned around to glance at Kylie once in a while.
Lucy came out of the kitchen at this moment. “Mrs. Parker, you’re really a good kind person.”
“Lucy, I’m just a woman,” Kylie said.
Before Ethan left home, he arranged many bodyguards to protect Kylie 24/7.

She planned to meet Faith in a café, but the café was directly cleared.
“Kylie, Lord Ethan, treats you so well.” Faith was envious.
“Ken will treat you so well too once he’s out of jail.” Kylie smiled.
Faith pulled her lips. “Does he have the ability to clear a whole café?”
Kylie was surprised and looked at her. Faith realized she shouldn’t have said that. “Um, I was just joking. As long as two people are in love, they will feel happy no matter what they’re doing together.”
Kylie didn’t say a word.
“Kylie, I know I’ve made a terrible mistake, and you probably won’t forgive me, but…” Faith moved a little near to Kylie, “I just want to stay by your side, even if I can only help you carry your bags.”
“Sorry, I don’t have work these days, and there is no need to carry my bags,” Kylie said and declined.
Faith thought for a while before she opened her mouth again, “Well, I know you’re still mad at me because I left you for Vivian, but…” She looked around the bodyguards. “Your bodyguards are all men. Don’t you need a female by your side?”

“No, Lord Nate didn’t give me money.” Faith blurted it out, then covered her mouth at once. “Um, I’m sorry, Kylie. Lord Nate did have met me, but I do want to stay by your side.”
Kylie wore an embarrassed smile, hearing her talking.
“No matter what evidence they have, I trust you!” Faith added. “Whatever you want to do, I can help you keep it a secret from them. I mean it!”
Kylie took out an envelope from her handbag. She placed it in front of Faith. “There are 20 thousand dollars inside. It’s enough for you to live a good life before Ken comes out to jail.”
Seeing Kylie walking away, Faith stood up in a hurry. “Kylie, think about it!”
Kylie stopped for a second, then strode ahead.
There were all women’s clothing counters on the three floors above. Kylie walked around for a while, then stepped towards the ladies’ room.
A short while later, a figure flashed into it as well.
“Kylie?” Faith called in a quiet voice, and the middle cubicle door opened.
“I was wondering whether you’ll open the envelope when you’re home.” Kylie walked out of it.
“I’m not an idiot, and you gave me a heavy hint,” Faith said with a smile. “What should we do now?”
Kylie said, “There is an exclusive shop not far away, and we can exchange our identities there.”
“Great.” Faith nodded. “How are we going to exchange our identities back?”
Kylie thought for a while. “There is a movie theater on the top floor, and we can do that in the screening room.”
“Aren’t you afraid those bodyguards will clear the screening room too?” Faith was a little worried.
“It’s not a big deal. It’s dark inside anyway.” Kylie gave a glance at the clock. “I should be back after the movie end.”
“You’re really bold.” Faith shook her head, then slipped out of the ladies’ room with her face covered in her hoodie.
Three minutes later, Kylie walked out.
She went to the appointed exclusive shop, then said to her bodyguards, “I’ll try some clothing inside, and you can all wait at the door.”
“Mrs. Parker, Mr. Parker ordered us to protect you 24/7,” a bodyguard said.
Kylie pointed at the door. “It’s fine. There is only one exit.”
The bodyguard looked around, and it was true that there was only a door to this exclusive shop. They could easily see who came in and out of it by standing at the door.
When Kylie was about to enter it, she said, “Dangerous World is still in theaters now, and I’m going to slip in a screening room to hear the audience’s opinions about it. Don’t follow me behind then.”
“Well…”
“Go buy a ticket for me,” Kylie said, then walked into the shop. “Please give me those dresses of my size. I need to try them on.”
A saleswoman welcomed Kylie with great enthusiasm. “Please, this way.”
She didn’t leave until she walked Kylie to the dressing room.
“Ahem!” Kylie made a cough, and someone knocked on the door without delay.
She opened it and let Faith get in.

“I understand,” Faith said, then put the clothing on at once. They had a similar hairstyle and build, so it wasn’t difficult for Faith to disguise herself as Kylie with the pair of Kylie’s sunglasses.
“Be careful!” Faith said to Kylie, then left.
When the saleswoman wanted to say something, Kylie called her over. “Would you please help me with the zip?”
The saleswoman glanced at Faith and Kylie but didn’t know what to say.
Kylie squeezed a hundred dollars into her hand. “Please charge the clothing she’s wearing and those left in this dressing room to my account.”
“Oh, no problem.” The saleswoman agreed.
A bodyguard handed a movie ticket over once Faith walked out. “Mrs. Parker, please go to the VIP screening room.”
“Thanks,” Faith said in a low voice and took the movie ticket.
Kylie didn’t leave the shopping mall until she was sure they were all gone.
Ethan had installed a GPS system on her phone, so she gave her phone to Faith too. When she reached the first floor, she called Stephen with the phone at the reception desk.
Probably because it was an unknown number, her call was cut off within a second.
Kylie dialed three times, and someone answered her call at the end.
“Hi.” A middle-aged man’s voice sounded.
“Stephen?” Kylie asked.
“Miss Finch?” It was the housekeeper’s voice.
Stephen stood right by the housekeeper’s side and grabbed the phone away. “Kylie?”
“Stephen, I want to meet you,” Kylie said without hesitation.
Stephen’s voice was as gentle as usual. “Tell me your location, and I’ll go pick you up.”
“I’m at the commercial street now,” Kylie said. “I only have 90 minutes. Be quick.”
Stephen was surprised to receive Kylie’s call, and he didn’t understand why her time was limited. “Does Ethan restrict your freedom?”
If so, he wouldn’t let Kylie go back again. He wanted her to stay beside him.
“No, it’s hard to explain it on the phone. Let’s talk about it face to face.” Kylie was very cautious and gave a glance around her.
Although she was in a totally different look today, people who were familiar with her still could recognize her at first glance.
“Sure, I’ll be there in 10 minutes.” Stephen hung up the call and walked outside, but the housekeeper stopped him.
“Lord Stephen, you can’t go there!” the housekeeper said. “Kylie just escaped from your side last time, and it must be a trap set by Ethan. They want to catch you.”
Stephen shook his hand. “Relax, I’ll protect myself well.”
Kylie waited in anxiety at the bus stop.
Within 10 minutes, a black car stopped before her.
Kylie bent and saw the driver she had met that late night, but he looked at her with a pair of tender eyes this time. “Where are you going, miss?”
“I don’t have much money,” Kylie said.
“It’s fine. Get in.” The driver opened the car door.
Kylie got in it at once, and it moved away fast, then stopped at the front of an abandoned building with few people around.
The driver tore off his mask afterward.
Kylie stared at Stephen’s face, then gave a glance at his big belly. She even reached out to her hand to press it. “Is it made of rubber?”
Stephen smiled. “What do you want to talk about with me?”
Kylie drew her hand back. “Are you the Ghost Doctor?”
Stephen unfastened his safety belt. “Is Ethan really injured?” He asked immediately, yet he knew from the beginning Ethan is not human. The biggest secret that only him alone had an idea and those other blood brothers around them were the same race as Ethan.
Kylie nodded. “Yes, he’s seriously injured, and the doctor said the wounds are already infected. His life is in danger now.”
“Does he tell you to find me?” Stephen tapped on the steering wheel.
“No.” Kylie shrugged. “You know him very well too. He would rather die than be cured by you.”
“Then why do you find me? Did he tell you something about himself? I guess not, am I right?” Stephen’s fingers stiffened for a second, then kept on tapping.
Chapter 510: You Want Me To Set A Condition?
“A secret? About him? Did you know anything about my husband?” Her voice was full of anxiety while waiting for Stephen’s response.
Stephen gradually showed a wicked smile, “Kylie, did you believe Ethan loved that much? Because if you do believe him or trust him, I suggest you seek the truth about his real identity,”
Kylie gave him a sweet smile, “No matter who he was and what secret he had, I still trust him because I love him, and I don’t want to see him die. That’s it.”
“That’s it. He really is a lucky one,” Stephen turned to look out of the car window. “Why should I save his life?” he asked again.
“Because you love me.” The smile disappeared from Kylie’s face. “As long as you can save his life, I can do everything you want.”
Stephen cocked his eyebrow, and a touch of disappointment flashed by his eyes. “Do you want me to set a condition? Is it just a deal in your eyes?”
“What else could it be?” Kylie caught her knees tight to calm herself down. “Ever since you’ve aborted Dinah’s baby, we’re no longer friends.”
Stephen laid his hand on Kylie’s shoulder all of a sudden. She trembled a little but didn’t avoid it. “Do you know Dinah could never be a mother?”
It hurt Stephen more when Kylie said that to him than directly got rid of his hand. He can’t tell her that Dinah and Ethan were immortals who live like a human.
He forced Kylie to meet his eyes, then said another word after another, “Except you, no one else is capable of being the mother of my child.”
“You had sex with her, and you should take responsibility!” Kylie said.
“She drugged me first!” Stephen got mad. “I wish I had killed her.”
Kylie pushed the car door opened and got off at once. She adjusted her coat in the cold wind before she said, “You made that drug yourself, and you deserve it.”
Stephen followed her and left the car. “You’re right. I deserve it! Now, let’s talk about the condition.” Saying that, he walked towards Kylie and pulled her to his chest.
When his nose almost touched the top of hers, he stopped.
“Why don’t you avoid me?” His gentle voice sounded a little unkind.
“As long as you can save his life, I’m willing to do anything you want.” Kylie stared at his nose.
Stephen approached near and laid his jaw on the top of her head with his arms around her. “What if I want you to leave him?”
Kylie straightened her back at once.
“Leave with me. Let’s make a fresh start in a new place. Are you willing to do that?” Stephen asked.
“As long as you can save Ethan’s life, I’m willing to do anything you want,” Kylie repeated.
There was a smile on Stephen’s lips. “Deal.” He loosened his arms around Kylie, and Kylie adjusted the clothing on her shoulders. “If Ethan couldn’t survive, I’ll kill myself and die with him.”
Hearing that, Stephen looked displeased in an instant.
He did plan to kill Ethan secretly.
However, it seemed Kylie was determined to make sure Ethan could stay alive.
He had to give up that idea.
“I need to know more details about his condition to prepare medicine for him.” He said instead, knowing that Ethan had a self-healing capability. Stephen knew that Ethan hadn’t mentioned his secret to Kylie up until now. That’s why she’s clueless, but for Stephen, he guessed that Ethan had planned to seize him, and pretending weak as of this moment was his accurate plan.
Stephen sat back in the driver’s seat and took a long breath.
Kylie understood it.
If a doctor couldn’t see the patient’s condition with his own eyes, it was impossible for him to treat the patient well.
There were bodyguards everywhere in the Finch family’s house. How could Stephen get in?
Kylie glanced at the time of the car radio. She had been outside for an hour.
Seeing her in anxiety, Stephen asked, “Did you slip out again?”
“I must replace Faith before the movie ends. I’ll contact you later once I think of a way,” Kylie said and began to fasten the safety belt.
“Do you think I’ll drive you back?” Stephen pulled the car key out all of a sudden.
Kylie stopped for a second, then smiled. “You will.”
She fastened the safety belt well. “You want me to be willing to leave with you instead of being forced to stay.”
Stephen laughed out loud. Kylie understood him very well.
Although he couldn’t win Kylie’s heart, he would instead let her be willing to leave with him than force her to stay.
If he forced Kylie to stay, he might lose her forever.
The car started. Kylie remained silent for a short while, looking out of the car window, but said to Stephen, “The magical pill isn’t a good thing. You don’t lack money at all. Stop making it.”
Stephen glanced at her. “I will once you leave with me.”
Kylie became quiet again.
It was just 10 minutes away from the film’s ending when Kylie got back to the movie theater.
Faith was restless in the screening room. She would be exposed once the lights were on later.
Right when she wanted to use the ladies’ room, a woman in a staff member’s uniform came and sat next to her.
“You can leave now,” Kylie said in a low voice.
“My goodness, you’re finally back!” Faith took off the windbreaker and squeezed it into Kylie’s arms, then handed her the handbag.
“Don’t call me. Send me messages on Facebook,” Kylie said while she was putting on her windbreaker.
The moment she changed her clothing, lights were on in the screening room. Faith lowered her head at once and slipped outside.
Kylie waited for a while, then left the screening room too.
“Mrs. Parker, where do you want to go next?” a bodyguard followed her up.
“Well, let’s go home now.” Kylie took off her sunglasses.
The study was filled with cigarette smoke in the Finch family’s house.
“I’ve checked every car in the auto repair shop but found nothing wrong,” Vincent said, then looked at Ethan, who fixed his eyes on the screen of a computer.
Nate stuck his head over. “What is Kylie doing? She’s stayed in the shopping mall for so long.”
A red spot was moving at a slow pace on the screen. It was a locator Nate insisted on setting into Kylie’s handbag.
“Didn’t you hear it?” Vincent lightly knocked his elbow against Nate. “The bodyguard said she went to watch a film.”
“She played a role in the film herself. What’s the point of watching it?” Nate argued.
Ethan pressed a button, and the picture changed on the screen.
“How is everything going at the dock?” Ethan’s voice rang.
“Nothing unusual,” Vincent said, feeling confused. “Has Clown already shipped the goods or not? Why is it so quiet?”
“Tory is still in Seattle now. He couldn’t have shipped the goods, you idiot!” Nate snorted.
After that, Nate turned to face Ethan. He summoned up his courage and said, “Ethan, is it possible…”
Before he could finish, Ethan gave him a cold glance, and Nate trembled a little in fear.
Vincent pulled Nate’s pants under the table to stop him.
Nate rolled his eyes at Vincent, then continued, “Probably Kylie is still under Stephen’s hypnosis, and she’s just a pawn used by him.”
