Ch. 81..90
Chapter 81
As the car pulled up In the garage, Liliana, who heard that familiar sound of the car horn at the gates, flew out of her room in a blue robe with her hair in rollers and face smeared with an avocado face mask while munching on two cucumber slices, cheeks puffed up like a chipmunk.
Her flipflops made loud slapping noises as she ran past Lizzy who was preparing breakfast in the kitchen with the Omegas.
"Good morning everyone!"
The woman just sighed but smiled warmly when the door burst open with a bang as she ran out.
Raiden had just shut his car door while Nancy was opening hers to get out. As he turned to get her things from the back, he saw something/someone running at him with such speed that before he even moved another inch, he was roughly held back against the car as she enfolded him in a hug.
"Lily!!!" He growled in anger when he felt the gawk on her face rub on to his shirt and her arms wound around his body like a vice, slowly squeezing the life out of him.
Liliana leaned back and pouted.
"You abandon me here for days and when you come back you don’t even look like you’re happy to see me!"
"What do you think?!"
From the corner of his eyes, he saw the low-rank gamma guards staring at her because of the robe she wore which revealed her long smooth blemish-free legs.
On noticing the silent deadly glare he directed at the them, they turned back to their post like sharp foxes before he pushed Liliana aside to get the things from the car.
She followed him from behind like his shadow which caused a vein to pop at the side of his forehead but he ignored her, abruptly opened the car door, pulling out a blue suitcase first.
Liliana’s gaze narrowed as she saw the feminine looking bag.
"R? When did you get a New suitcase?"
Raiden pulled out another bag and banged the door shut.
"It’s not mine."
She bit her lip and frowned only to see a glowing figure step out from around the car coming to stand Infront of her.
Raiden stood up straight to introduce Nancy before Liliana misunderstood things and went beserk on her but he froze on seeing the two already staring at each other with similar curious looks and knotted brows.
"What’s that on your face?" Nancy spoke up first, seemingly curious about the green stuff on her face having cleaned off almost completely, evident on Raiden’s shirt.
"Avocado mask."
"You put avocados on your face? Why?"
"To smoothen my skin." Liliana cheerfully replied then suddenly narrowed her eyes at her. "And you are?"
"I’m Nancy. And you are?"
"I’m Liliana. How do you know him?"
"Raiden?"
"Yes. How do you know my boyfriend."
Raiden face-palmed himself
"Again. I am NOT your..."
"We met at Dark Risers’s pack. He brought me here to see Koan."
Liliana raised a brow.
How come she called her cousin so casually without using the term ’Alpha’.
"Who is Koan to you?"
Nancy was about to reply and with how she behaved at times, Raiden wasn’t quite sure she was going to keep quiet and just spill her real identity out so he just slapped his hand over her mouth and turned to Liliana with a frown.
"This is Nancy from Ruby Stone’s pack. She’s Alpha Henry’s daughter and she’s a guest here. So stop asking her so much irrelevant questions and maybe be useful and help her unpack AFTER you look like a normal person!"
He grabbed Nancy’s things and his while Nancy followed him behind with a meek look, smiling at Liliana who smiled back but narrowed her eyes in confusion. She knew who she was now but she hadn’t met her in person though.
She was so gorgeous!
But how come she was suddenly a guest here? What was really going on?
She ran straight into her room to freshen up.
Raiden and Nancy used the front doors and she could feel several gazes from the Omegas on her as she followed their Beta upstairs.
"Why do you have to be so harsh to your mate. She was just asking some questions. It’s not her fault she was just curious."
"One, She is not and can NEVER be my mate. Two, she is not my girlfriend either if that’s what you think. And I wasn’t being harsh. I guess that’s how I resort to talking to her since she has decided to be a headache in my entire existence."
"But she’s nice." She pestered him.
"She’s crazy."
"I haven’t really gotten to know her yet so I won’t agree."
Raiden realized that she didn’t know Liliana was related to Alpha Koan. He wouldn’t have figured out if she’d act this nice to her if she had known her real identity in the first place. This shows that his Luna was fair and kind to anyone irrespective of who they were.
It still didn’t change the fact that Liliana was crazy.
As they climbed further up past the guests’ floor up to the Beta’s floor to the Alpha’s floor, he contemplated on two things.
Should he let her stay in a room on the Alpha’s floor or stay in the same room as Koan?
Koan would never accept that and might end up smouldering her with a pillow but Nancy couldn’t sleep in a room alone.
He concluded that she would share a room with Liliana but... if that happens, his plan to get Nancy and Koan close wouldn’t work as immediate as he wanted it.
If she had to stay in the same room as Koan, it might raise suspicion from Lizzy and nosy Liliana and the Omegas would wonder what a guest would even be doing on the Alpha’s floor in the first place.
After much thought, he decided to go with the former decision which was to let Nora move in with Koan.
When they arrived at his room door, he fiddled with knob and realized it was locked. He was probably in his office which was in the basement in the room across his.
"Wait here. I’ll go get the keys." She nodded and he turned. She watched him go across the room, a few doors away, go into the room and disappear down what looked like stairs leading down to a basement.
Nora waited for five seconds before she finally stiffened and turned on hearing the door before her move with the sound of keys jiggling in the lock.
Someone had been inside the whole time and was opening it already.
Right before her very eyes, a drowsy, sexy man with tired blue eyes and forehead full of thick locks of dark hair opened the door.
Koan.
She felt her heartbeat quicken on meeting with the lazy smouldering gaze in his eyes.
Chapter 82
Nancy gulped, breathing In his musky mate scent while holding back from throwing herself at him as he dragged his eyes down her body and back to her face.
He wasn’t surprised to see her here. He knew Raiden would bring her and had heard the car horn at the gates some while ago but what was she doing standing there with her bags?
He tried to compose himself and act as nonchalant as ever, not wanting to give her a single hint of just how her scent was affecting him badly.
"The Omega quarters is behind the Alpha’s domain... If you’re looking for where to unpack. I’m sure there are several rooms you can choose from there."
She narrowed her eyes in confusion not understanding his words at all.
He stepped back inside and made to shut the door but she swiftly kicked her suitcase forward and it got between the door closing.
Koan looked up at her with a dark killing intent gaze in his eyes but she just meekly asked,
"Aren’t you surprised to see me here?"
"If ’Surprised’ also means unhappy, bothered and uncomfortable then -Yes. I’m very surprised to see you here."
"Koan," They turn to see Raiden coming over to stand behind Nancy. "You were in your room the whole time?"
Koan juted his jaw behind him.
"If you’re so persistent in letting her stay here, then she can use one of the rooms at the Omega quarters."
Raiden just stared at him speechlessly.
"Will I get a room all to myself?" She innocently asked, the idea of sleeping alone in a room not quite settling with her.
"No. You will not," Raiden abruptly cut in before glaring at Koan while saying, "You’ll be sharing a room. With Koan."
Kaon coldly chuckled and without a word, kicked Nancy’s suitcase to fall on her feet, banging the door in her face.
Nancy, bewildered, stared at Raiden with her lower lip stuck out.
Raiden thought she was going to cry and thought of the best possible solution to this. The only way to get Nancy inside the room was by smashing the door which was impossible since it was like other doors in the domain, made to be werewolf-proof. No harm could be done to the door, not even a scratch.
He scratched his head.
"Listen. You can just move into the room next to his and we’ll think of a way to..."
"No."
He paused and with his tongue touching the side of his inner cheek, he closed his eyes and shook his head.
"What did you say?"
Nancy puffed her cheeks before regaining her determined posture.
"No."
"You..."
Before his very eyes, Nancy slid down to the floor just facing the Alpha’s door directly holding her suitcase in her lap, her bag placed on it.
She sat straight, arms crossed over her suitcase looking straight at the door as if wanting Koan to suddenly appear and carry her inside.
"Nancy," He sighed. "You can’t just sit here waiting for him to change his mind."
"If we’re going to share the room, then he has to change his mind or I’m NEVER getting up."
He held the bridge of his nose.
Was he the only sane one in this house now?
What if Liliana climbs upstairs to poke her nose around. What would he tell her if she found ’their guest’ in this position?
What about Lizzy?
He looked down and saw her in that same position, staring straight at the door and he ended up banging in the door with impatience.
"Koan!"
Silence.
"You’re acting really childish right now, do you know that?"
Silence.
He didn’t want to tell him about the surprise waiting for him at his door and sighed, leaving the two to go to his room, picking his bags from the floor.
Casting another glance at Nancy who had poised like a statue, he climbed downstairs to his floor where he, Liliana and Lizzy stayed.
He almost breathed a sigh of relief when he got into his room without having to face Liliana but just when he dropped his bag to the ground, he noticed her, all dressed up in her usual colorful clothes and heading down.
She wasn’t the type to be in the kitchen when they were preparing breakfast. So where was she going?
He suddenly stepped out and in long strides, crept up behind her and grabbed her arm. She gasped at his abrupt hold but smiled on seeing him.
His face was stoic and held a look of indifference.
"Where are you going?"
"To... the guest floor. To help Nancy unpack."
He suddenly felt nervous. How would he convince her not to go down because she would obviously be wasting her time there.
"I think she’s got it covered."
"Then I just want to see her. And maybe... talk."
His eyes darted left and right, the image of Nancy sitting Infront of Koan’s room flashing in his memory like a horrific picture.
She turned to leave but he reached out and grabbed her wrist this time.
"T-then... I need your help to unpack." He said between clenched teeth and he swore he could see a bright light glinting from her mouth as she flashed him a wide toothy grin with large eyes.
"R-Really? You’ll let me into your room even after banning me from entering."
He sighed and reluctantly replied.
"Yes, but unless you promise not to try and tie my wrists to the bed stand again. You can’t just pin me against the bed and force me to be infatuated with you."
She blushed and mumbled angrily,
"I wasn’t trying to ra*e you... I... just..."
He just pulled her with him into his room but didn’t close the door. He couldn’t stay In a room with someone as crazy as she was with the door shut.
**
It was 8:00am, which was thirty minutes ago when he had locked his door preventing Raiden from allowing her in.
He checked himself out in the mirror with a stoic look on his face, Ensuring that his shirt wasn’t too formal for his liking and his jeans weren’t as plain as he hated, he got his keys to leave, not wanting Lizzy to tell Liliana to come call him downstairs for breakfast herself.
He was sure Raiden wouldn’t take Nancy to the Omega’s quarters like he ordered and just take her to a room on the guest floor or one up here.
However, he was not prepared for what or Who he saw outside his door when he stepped out, about to shut the door behind him, her scent catching him off guard.
Nancy was playing with her fingers on the tip of her suitcase and immediately raised her chin to meet with his eyes when he stepped out.
"You have got to be fuvking kidding me."
Chapter 83
Naomi meekly went round the table, distributing the food while Dora stared daggers at her.
Everyone was all dressed, evidently ready to leave after breakfast.
No one said anything about Dora who was still in her pyjamas and that irritated Daniel further. He was sure Alpha Justin was in some sort of plan-devision with his daughter.
He tried concentrating on eating his food but his eyes would sneak a peek at Naomi who was smiling at something Marcy said to her before leaving.
"Honey, where’s Nancy? I haven’t seen her all morning? Is she sick?" Stacey suddenly inquired and Talia’s eyes widened with the fork of eggs in her mouth. She took some time chewing as she thought of an answer.
"Alpha Koan and Raiden left early this morning to their pack so they offered to drop Nancy off at her Pack since her father wanted to see her. It was urgent."
Stacey thought it was weird that Alpha Henry suddenly wants to see his daughter after he sent her away to live in their pack for a while.
Daniel narrowed his eyes at Talia and their eyes locked before she gave him a curious glance.
He looked back down and She stared at him in confusion for a while before looking down at her food to pick at the eggs with her fork.
He on other the hand was in deep thought. Why was Talia lying? It was obvious because he had seen Alpha Koan leaving alone last night before Beta Raiden probably left this morning like she said. What exactly was Talia hiding? Where was Nancy, really?
Suddenly, he looked up at Talia only to see her wince and cover her mouth with the back of her hand, abruptly dropping her fork onto a plate.
She wasn’t concentrating and had absentmindedly put a forkful of hot eggs in her mouth without blowing on it.
Jephthah didn’t waste a single second before grabbing her shoulder and pulling her close, unaware that everyone was staring at them.
"Are you okay?!"
"Yeah..." Talia breathlessly said holding onto the table.
He frowned.
"Don’t you know how hot the food is?"
"Hey," She pouted at him and his angry eyes cleared into doe eyes at her pitiful face. "I forgot."
She reached out for her fork again but he picked it instead before she did.
"Forget it, I’m feeding you before you burn your tongue this time."
He stabbed her fork in her pile of eggs, blew on it and fed it to her with a serious look on his cute face.
Blushing, when she saw the fork hovering around her mouth, she closed her eyes and let him put the fork of eggs in her mouth, opening them as she chewed.
John cleared his throat, hiding a smile and the two looked up to see everyone had their eyes on them.
Jephthah almost buried his head in his food, picking at something interesting in his egg and toast while Talia downed her cup of orange juice in one go, flushed.
Daniel had his mouth opened the entire time like Dora and the two felt the same level of surprise and a bit of envy for some reason when they saw the care and genuine love in his eyes as he fed her.
"Oh Dora," Luna Ciara suddenly said. "Can you Imagine finding someone to treat you so lovingly like this?!"
Dora blushed and peered at Daniel from the corner of his eyes, but he kept eating without turning to her, well aware that het gaze was on the side of his face.
The older women were gushing over the new couple at the dining table while Alpha Justin kept staring at Daniel as if expecting him to suddenly stand up and announce Dora as his Luna.
Barton glared at Dora and didn’t say anything else.
The atmosphere turned quiet as Naomi returned and as per Marcy’s request, began refilling everyone’s cup with orange juice.
Dora clenched her teeth when she saw Daniel who hadn’t even glanced at her, sneak a peek at Naomi as she dutifully poured him a drink.
When she got to her side of the table and made to pass to the next person, Dora sneakily put out a leg and Naomi who didn’t notice it, missed her step and fell to the ground.
Talia and Barton got up to see the crash In time and Daniel turned to see Dora sneak in her leg.
He saw Naomi lying on her stomach, the jug of orange juice lying in shards of glass next to her, the entire content spilled onto her clothes.
Her face was just some inches away from Dora’s legs and as she looked up to the source of her fall, there was a glint that crept up in her eyes which would have killed Dora if they touched her eyes.
"Naomi!" Marcy got up, ready to help her up but Barton was faster and reassured everyone he got the situation under control, causing the worried ones to sit back down, calming their fast beating hearts.
Barton carried Naomi up from the floor, bridal style and left, not forgetting to narrow his eyes coldly at Dora.
The first person to actually make a reflexive move to help Naomi was Daniel but stopped when Dora held his hand and dragged him so close that they could have snuggled into each other.
"Daniel, I think the shard of glass pierced my legs. Could you help me check." As she said to him, there was a knowing warning look in her eyes and it took all of his will power not to shove her head down the shards of glass on the ground.
"Sure. Let me check." He mumbled between clenched teeth while Marcy went away to call in an Omega who later came by to clean the mess on the floor.
Talia stared at Daniel who was checking Dora for any wound or skin tear and was confused for a moment.
Wasn’t Naomi his mate?
Shouldn’t he check on her instead?
No one had seen her leg but Barton and Daniel and everyone else had assumed Naomi had fallen down due to clumpisness or thoughtlessness.
As Barton dropped Naomi on her bed, she pushed his hand aside when he held her leg to check for any bruises or skin tear.
"Why did you have to carry me like that... like I’m crippled. I could have walked back to my room myself."
"No one was willing to help you so I did. Are you hurt? Do you feel pain anywhere."
"I’m bleeding here but it’s not serious, I’ll just apply some medications on it." She casually showed him her arm.
"Where?"
Barton asked and she looked down at her arm where there was a small skin tear from a shard of glass when she fell.
"I don’t understand," She swished a stray strand of hair behind her shoulder and looked at her other hand, thinking she had showed him the wrong arm. "T-The... I was bleeding from here just... a minute ago."
Barton grabbed her arm and peered closer at the spot she had claimed was bleeding but the spot was blemish free with not a speck of bruise but just a small blood stain from the previous open wound.
"Are you sure?" He carefully asked and she nodded with a ’Yes’. "Do you know what this means..."
He looked up and they locked gazes.
"You healed Naomi."
Chapter 84
"What?" The two turned in shock, only to see Brittany at the door, still in her robe.
She walked in, narrowing her eyes at the two before yanking Naomi’s hand for her to see for herself, though not exerting much force. Naomi gasped and stared at Brittany as she scrutinized the arm before turning to she and Barton.
"How is this possible?"
"What are you doing here? Where’s Royce?"
Barton quickly asked.
"He’s having breakfast and I wanted to come downstairs when I heard something like the glass jug smashing, then I saw you two and followed you up here."
"Well yes. We just found out that she can heal and..."
"But how..." Naomi spoke up this time. "How can I suddenly heal...I don’t understand."
"Kitsunes are usually seen in twos or threes because when they are together, they are stronger and the abilities of their powers increase. Encountering those Kitsune boosted up your immune system so it isn’t something you should worry about." Louis suddenly said.
Barton noticed that lost look in that eyes and understood that she was talking with her fox.
"That’s why they want you back home. They can train you to get stronger."
"Isn’t there a reason?"
"Yes. But... I’m not in the position to tell you. I apologize."
With that, she went blank, cutting off connections with her mind.
’Barton, how’s Naomi’
It was Daniel using the mate bond.
’Why don’t you come and check for yourself. You saw what happened. You saw what Dora did, didn’t you?’
’I just want to know if Naomi’s fine?’
Barton sighed and watched Brittany cautiously sit beside Naomi wondering about the lost look in her eyes. It was as if her soul was transported somewhere.
’Like I said... If you really want to know, you have to check up on her yourself.’
With that, Daniel angrily ended the mind link by blocking him out.
Marcy suddenly came in.
"Barton your food’s going to get cold soon so please go downstairs and eat your eggs." She calmly said.
"Okay Mum." There was no point arguing. He was hungry anyways.
Once he left, Marcy climbed into the bed beside Naomi, sandwiching her between she and her daughter.
Naomi sighed when she began to fuse over her while touching her face and arms.
"Aunt, I’m fine..."
She started to say and Marcy breathed a sigh of relief.
"You got me so worried when you fell like that. You really need to be more careful Naomi." The woman cautioned and faces Brittany.
"Good morning Brittany. I haven’t seen you all morning. Barton said you slept in late. How are you? What about Royce?" She said sacarstically before inquiring worriedly.
Brittany tittered nervously.
"I’m finand... He’s good Mum. He’s eating."
"Why are still in your robe, aren’t you set to go?"
Brittany and Naomi exchanged glances before she said,
"Yes... we’re leaving today. I’ll get dressed once I’m done talking with Naomi."
Marcy got the hint that the two girls wanted to be alone and she left after giving them wary looks, shutting the door behind her.
Brittany held Naomi’s look and when she turned, she saw worry and concern buried in her honey colored eyes.
"Why did... you change your mind about leaving."
Naomi sighed and took off her mask, revealing her beautiful lower features.
"I didn’t change my mind, Brittany."
"Then why are you here." Her voice was pained and she could tell tears were going to be involved.
"Because I... Because I couldn’t bear to leave Dark Risers’s pack and the people I love in it."
"Then why do you want to leave still."
"Because if I don’t, the Kitsunes will come for everyone, they will come for the entire werewolf territory and they will Burn down everything into dusts." Naomi grabbed Brittney and forced her to look into her eyes. "I don’t have a choice."
Brittany held Naomi’s cheek and closed her eyes. A tear dropped and Naomi’s eyes widened on seeing the stray tear.
"You do, Naomi," She opened her eyes and there was a new light of renewed determination in her eyes bound by the shackles of pain she had felt since yesterday night. "You can choose to let them take you away and do whatever they want with you or... you can choose to stay here and fight for your rights to be here."
"T-They’re dangerous. I don’t want them to hurt you guys. Please Brittany. You have to just forget about me."
"I won’t. I can’t and you’re not leaving. We will protect you Naomi. We won’t let them take you away."
"And risk witnessing your deaths?"
"No one’s dying!"
"You didn’t see one of them fling Barton to a tree with so much force by a simple wave of her hand. What do you think their capabilities lie when they actually use their full unlimited powers."
"We have powers of our own. We can fight together to protect you. All of us."
Naomi looked down sadly.
"Who?"
Brittany’s grip on her hand tightened as she anxiously said,
"Me, Barton... Daniel..."
"Daniel?" She stiffled a bitter Chuckle. "He wants me gone."
"He didn’t hesitate for a second before leaving the ceremony last night to come save you. I know my cousin and... forget the fact that he acts indifferent to you. I know he cares for you. He’s your mate and you’re his. The mate bond is pulling you two close and just when you think you’re drifting apart, you two are actually developing feelings for each other. You two never realize it because you’re both strong-headed!"
"I really appreciate your concern and willingness to help me but you three against the Kitsunes... I don’t think you’d stand a chance."
"Then we can call for backup from other packs if necessary."
Naomi chuckled bitterly.
"What will you tell them to actually convince them to do that. That I’m a Kitsune?"
Brittany was at loss of words until the door burst open and on seeing Daniel, Naomi quickly put the mask over her face but Daniel had seen her putting it on and froze at the door, his hand clenching onto the knob.
Naomi stared at him through her mask, her eyes as wide as saucers, her heart pounding as she thought he’d be this close to seeing her without her mask on.
Brittany caught Daniel gazing her way and almost fell back when she turned to see the fierce gaze of shades of swirling blue in his eyes.
"What?" She demanded harshly.
"You know," He said and when Brittany raised a brow, he came in and shut the door behind him, his eyes not leaving his cousin’s. "I thought there was some other personal reason you were concealing your face AND identity," he turned to Naomi this time and despite the restraint she put on herself to look away, she couldn’t and just stilled, gazing into his eyes like he did. "Turns out I’M the only one you’re hiding your identity from." He advanced towards the bed with a fiece aura emenanting from his eyes.
"What are hiding?!"
As Naomi scooched back on the bed in panic, Brittany got up in a flash and got in between his way, she being the only barrier between Daniel and the bed.
Daniel met her angry eyes, this sweet round honey-colorwd eyes of hers were imposing and shone with a glint of rebellion as she fisted her hands and stood straight and strong.
She was tall and faced him squarely as she lurnched at his chest with her finger before raising her chin to meet with eyes.
"Get. Out."
Glancing down, He suddenly grabbed the finger lingering on his chest and looked up to level with her eyes which had widened in shock when he exerted force on her finger.
"You may be older than me but," his gaze was dark. "Know where your limits lie Brit. I am THE Alpha. I will crush whoever gets in my way of whatever I want. Even if it’s family. Now. Move."
Chapter 85
The Alpha aura.
He was using it on her.
In less than a second, there was a thudding sound and at Daniel’s feet lay Brittany on her hands and knees, face down to the floor.
He side stepped her without breaking eye contact with Naomi, whose eyes had widened twice their original size when he went round the bed, closer to her.
She scooted away from the bed, lurnching forward, but he reached out, and grabbed her hand. Turning in fright, she slapped his hand away and yelled,
"Don’t touch me!" And that single command was all it took for Daniel to freeze.
Panting, she stood Infront of him, the bed a barrier between them. Inclining her head to the other side, she narrowed her eyes, wondering if her words had been put literally
Daniel wasn’t moving. His hand was still extended in the air when he had reached for her, a lost look in his eyes, almost like he was in a trance.
Not feeling his imposing aura on her, she got up, a hand on her knee, the other hand, using the bedpost to support her stiff body.
She got to stand beside Nora just in time for Daniel to suddenly blink, his hand coming to fall at his side.
He narrowed his eyes at Naomi who stood upright, staring at him in shock.
Brittany stepped in between them again.
"You obnoxious, overbearing, little, conceited devil! Just who do you think you are to use your Alpha aura on me?!"
"F**k that. What did you just do to me?" He directed his gace to Naomi who peeered over Brittany’s shoulder.
In confusion, Brittany turned over her shoulders, her lips almost brushing against hers when she gave Naomi a probing look.
"What’s he talking about?"
"I don’t know." Naomi whispered. It was a half-lie, Okay?
She clearly saw Daniel freeze after she had said a simple unrelated sentence but she couldn’t understand exactly what happened.
Brittany turned to Daniel and their similar cold gazes locked. Daniel smirked and simply lowered his chin to his chest, his eyes simply raking over body, sending cold shivers running down her spine. Soon, she staggered back, refusing to submit to him again.
Naomi caught her in her open arms and something in her snapped as she glared at Daniel.
"You can’t just exert your aura on her because you feel like. That’s improper misuse of your power and authority. You’re a shameless jerk!"
His left eyes twitched and as he walked round to the other side of the bed, Naomi saw the gold stud earring on his left ear glint under the sunlight from the windows before her wrist was roughly grabbed by him, her other hand holding onto Brittany.
Her lips fell apart when she saw the flames of anger and shades of blue swirling in different waves and motions, deep in his eyes.
She shuddered when with one swift move, he had her chest against his, her hand against his upper chest, reflectively keeping her distance.
Brittany was left standing alone and she gritted her teeth In seething anger.
She lurged at Daniel and he unwillingly let go of Naomi who fell back on the bed and watched the two fall back on the floor with Brittany at the top. She held Daniel’s neck between her hands and squeezed tight, her honey colored eyes flashing with evil glints emanating from them.
"Brittany- " She began to protest....
"I. Will. End. You!" Brittany growled, bloodlust in her eyes.
Daniel calmly gripped her hand about his neck and tore it apart, kicking her on the chest and sending her flying. She flipped on the air and landed gracefully on her legs.
Turning to Naomi, she grabbed her hand while Daniel got up. Before he could compose himself, like Brittany wanted, he was distracted long enough for his cousin to take Naomi out of the room, away from his ’clutches’.
Daniel touched the sides of his neck and saw the glint of blood. Sighing, he wiped his fingers on his jeans and stepped out, banging the door behind him.
There was a reason she was hiding her identity by mandatorily putting on that mask, and he was going to find out.
’Daniel’
His right foot was just an inch stepping onto the ground when Barton’s voice went ringing through the mind link.
’What?’
’You’re been needed in the living room to see our guests off. Come down quickly or risk Mum chopping your head off.’
He was reluctant about this and thought about not going but at the end of the day, he was Alpha and can’t keep ignoring his duties.
It was improper for his guests to leave without him seeing them off after they had all arrived from afar for his ceremony.
He grumpily went downstairs.
"... He has to finish his Sophomore year here and he starts school by next week when he’s settled in properly. You know, with all the rush in preparing for the Alpha’s ceremony, he didn’t have the chance to... "
He heard his aunt chattering on and on as he climbed downstairs but they all looked up at him once he appeared, still lingering at the top of the stairs.
Outwardly, he looked casual and calm but inside, was like an inferno burning up everything in him and he badly wished he had Brittany’s head between his two hands so that he could crush her head into dust and watch her fall limply to the ground.
He was angry and his thoughts about hurting her was outrageous and indespecable but he felt like Brittany was standing in his way of whatever decision he chose to make.
Who does she think she is?
She may be his cousin but that’s where it all ends. She was the Beta’s mate of Blood moon’s pack and was no way related to Dark Risers’s pack and that was how he wanted it.
Seeing the guest off wasn’t as cringy as he thought. He just had to force a smile, let the older women give him a peck, give Alpha Justin a brief handshake and a quick shoulder to shoulder hug with Lebanon. Talia was busy with Jephthah and John was at the sidelines so he only waved while the cars that had onced occupied a great portion of the garage, zoomed away.
Only one left.
Blood moon Pack’s guests.
He looked back at the mansion and began walking in, with Barton at his tail as usual.
"There’s something... I have to tell you." Barton said as they made their way upstairs.
"Can’t it wait?"
"Naomi... healed."
Daniel froze before turning to his cousin square in the face. He closed his eyes, shook his head and reopened them again.
"What did you just say?"
Chapter 86
When Koan saw Nancy seated at the foot of his door, her fingers curled against each other on the suitcase sitting on her lap, he was mortified with shock but... also amused.
"What games are you and Raiden up to now." Koan uttered with a sour expression, turning to lock his door which Nancy pouted at.
He turned to glare down at her as she hadn’t said a word. The silence turned to one of uncomforbility, especially when her gaze didn’t leave his face the whole time, and when he did nothing but just stand there and stare at anything in particular but her.
"Have you... changed your mind about letting me into your room."
A brow rose on his face and he eased one hand into his pocket, the other dangling the key above her head.
"So, this is what this is all about."
Sighing, he turned nonchalantly and walked away, not even sparing her a glance, sure she would get tired and go look for somewhere else to stay.
As he got to the top of the stairs, ready to come down, he turned and noticed she had her face straight square-faced to his door like it was the only thing she was forced to focus on.
Narrowing his eyes at her, he went downstairs and ran into Raiden and Liliana leaving his room at the same time .
"I haven’t seen you all morning Kaon. You avoided me last night!" Liliana said in her pitiful voice and latched onto Koan like a koala.
Raiden and Koan exchanged glances.
’Do you perhaps want to explain why Nancy is sitting Infront of my room like a stalker.’
’Please don’t tell me you left her sitting there.’
’Well, if she really wants to spend her time whiling away on the floor, then she’s welcome to. But she’s not stepping a toe in MY room and I’ve made that clear. Don’t push it Raiden.’
Liliana suddenly sighed out loud and Kaon rolled his eyes at her.
"What is it now."
"Why do you two ALWAYS use the mind link when I’m around. Don’t you trust me with anything?"
Koan locked eyes with Raiden and he began to shake his head with his eyes wide open.
’Do NOT tell her about Nancy.’
’I don’t...’
’She’s met her but for the mean time, I don’t want her asking about our guest because she’ll eventually figure out who Nancy really is.’
Koan snorted inwardly.
’At least you used that brain of yours. If you had told Liliana that Nancy was my mate, I’ll never hear the end of it till I’m dead.’
Liliana noticed they were using the mind link again and suddenly said.
"I just hope our new guest would be as entertaining. You guys bore me anyway."
Koan and Raiden exchanged looks again and his Beta looked mortified.
"What new guest?" Lizzy suddenly asked as the three sat around the dinning table while she walked in with two Omegas who dropped breakfast on the table.
"Alpha Henry’s daughter of Ruby Stone’s pack, Nancy. She’s our new guest here," Suddenly she turned to Koan with a coy smile and he looked up from where he sipped his coffee to glare at her with narrowed eyes. "Actually, she’s Koan’s guest."
"Alpha Henry’s daughter? The one with.. uh... Age regression?"
Suddenly Koan spluttered his coffee while Raiden choked on his pancake.
"Am I missing something here?" Lizzy, innocently asked, confused.
"Did you just say... Age regression? Mum... are you sure of what you’re saying."
Lizzy stared at them all with a strange look in her eyes.
"Nancy Maguire, right? Am I mistaken?"
"N-No." Raiden said, solemnly shaking his head.
"Yes... she has Age regression," She turned to Koan who was staring into his cup of coffee with a blank look. "How do you know her Koan?"
Koan suddenly plopped his coffee to the table and turned to stare at Lizzy.
"What do you mean she has Age regression?"
Lizzy sat down and placed a napkin on her lap before dragging a plate close to her, realizing there were three pairs of eyes focused on her face. She almost spluttered on her coffee at the abrupt stare.
"When your uncle was Alive, we all went for the Two moon celebration in Ruby Stone’s pack and Nancy single handedly caused a disaster in the entire celebration and while her father was looking for the suitable punishment for her, I figured out that she has Age regression from her step mum."
That’s when Alpha Koan blanked out.
Two Moon celebration
Nancy...
That’s why he always had this sense of familiarity when he saw her.
Turns out, his first meeting with her wasn’t at Dark Risers’s pack.
"Koan... Where..." His chair grazed back, squeaking on the floor with an unpleasant sound as he left the dinning room without a single word.
"What’s going on?" Lizzy and Liliana turned to Raiden and he stared at them in the same blank expression.
They resumed eating but with less enthusiasm as before, their thoughts filled with Koan’s strange behavior this morning.
Normally, he was quiet, cold and reserved but this morning, it seemed like he had something on his mind. Something he surprisingly wasn’t willing to share with anyone but later let it upset him.
After five minutes and the silence was soul-recking enough to make him loose his appetite, he got up.
"I’ll... I’ll go check if he’s alright." He explained to Lizzy and made to leave when he noticed Liliana was already shifting uncomfortably on her seat.
"Eat your breakfast!" He harshly berrated her, aware that she was this close to leaving the room to follow him.
Her anxious expression plummeted as she meekly turned to play around with her food using her fork.
Narrowing his eyes at her, he turned to leave, Wondering where Koan had gone off to.
He stepped out of the Alpha’s domain in brisk steps, asking the Pack warriors where the Alpha had gone off to and eventually found him sitting in the garage after a thorough search.
He was lying back against the car his eyes lazily glazing over him before he turned away to focus somewhere else.
"Why did you leave?" He earnestly inquired.
There was a complete stand-still silence in the whole garage before he suddenly sat up and stared Raiden so straight in the eyes that for a minute, he felt uncomfortable.
"I will reject her."
In the end, those words he dreaded left his friend’s lips.
He felt dread and the light left in his eyes accelerated down to a dim point where it felt like all hope in him was crushed.
Koan dropped to his feet and in a second, he was standing before Raiden. He sombrely held his shoulders and looked ahead with a cold unsettling look in his eyes.
"It’s for her own good."
Raiden suddenly gritted his teeth. His eyes rolled backwards into his head before he swiftly moved his hand, catching Koan’s hand still left on his shoulder before throwing it down.
"Do you know how essential a mate is? Because if you don’t... I can tell you right here, right now because I don’t give a damn if you relieve me of my position as Beta, but I will not let you reject her!"
Chapter 87
It’s been almost an hour and she hadn’t moved from that same spot. It wasn’t a surprise that she became uncomfortable and tired all at once. Her head hurt and she felt nauseous just sitting at a particular place for a while.
Humph!
She had been drooling over the delicious scent of pancakes which had been tormenting her nostrils all morning and she berrated herself for being so stupid to have thought her Mate would bring food to her out of pity.
She decided to go down for breakfast and resume ’guarding’ the door till she was let into the room.
The sound of a huge trolley rolling on the floorboard and the sound of a girl fuming in anger made Lizzy and Liliana raise their head to the Alpha floor, wondering what was going on up there.
Suddenly, the two blinked as a girl with bright blue hair and rare colored azelea eyes came downstairs with a bag hung over her shoulder, pulling a trolley behind her.
They drank in her beauty like a toxic alcohol, inhaling in her wealthy scent.
Her hair was long and cascaded down her shoulders and back and when she met their eyes, the fierce look in hers automatically evaporated and was replace with bright smile, luminous enough to light up the entire pack.
Lizzy felt her fragile heart melt on seeing her. She recognized her immediately.
"You poor thing!" She exclaimed when she saw Nancy dragging her trolley down with some difficulty. "You look so ravenous! Have you had breakfast?" She rounded her up immediately, startling Nancy while Liliana relieved her of her trolleg and bag.
Nancy, after the experience she had with her step-mother, infused an invisible barrier between her and older women and was overly cautious when it came to them. But on meeting with the genuine worry and care enshrouded in her eyes, she fell speechless and helplessly watched the woman lead her into the kitchen while Liliana followed behind, in deep thought.
She had thought Nancy was already settled in one of the guest rooms like Raiden had said. Why did it look like she had been lying across her bags all these while? Why was she coming down from the Alpha’s floor?
So many questions occupied her mind that she absentmindedly sat beside Nancy on the table, not realizing when Lizzy asked her to get the fresh batch of pancakes from the kitchen.
"Liliana!"
She jumped in her seat.
"Mum?"
Lizzy sighed.
"Get the pancakes from the kitchen, will you?"
"Um... sure mum" with that, she left for the kitchen, still pondering.
Lizzy, aware that for some unknown reason, her daughter was lost in thought, sighed and shook her head before turning to Nancy with a smile.
"Koan said you came for a visit. I believe you arrived an hour ago with Raiden. Why haven’t you unpacked yet?"
Nancy rubbed her shoulder and looked down, avoiding her eyes as she mumbled.
"Koan wouldn’t let me in his room."
The woman’s smile froze and it slowly faltered just as Liliana arrived, dropping the pancakes before Nancy.
"Yay! Pancakes!" The girl who was sad and tedious a while ago suddenly brightened up, picking a fork and stabbing It into the pike of pancakes before her with enthusiasm.
From her left side, she didn’t notice the look of curiosity she got from Liliana. For someone who had never seen one with a disorder such as Age regression, it was quite new to her. Since she was naturally an observant person, she kept her eyes on Nancy like she was a test subject in her Lab, ready to be used for experiments.
From her right, Lizzy had a faltering smile stuck on her face, wrinkles forming on her forehead as she tried to decifer what she had just heard a minute ago.
She cleared her throat for a while, causing the two girls to turn to her, Liliana’s hand in mid-air as she reached out to touch Nancy’s hair while Nancy’s hand was in mid-air pouring surup on her pile of pancakes.
"Honey... " She managed another smile. "Why do you need to use Koan’s room. You’re a guest here, remember?"
Nancy pouted as she innocently said while eating, her mouth full of food.
"But I’m not just a guest. I’m his mate."
Liliana began choking on something
so suddenly, reaching over to empty the contents of a glass jar of water into her mouth.
"He wanted to reject me but he left me at Dark Risers’s pack instead so I came here and now ... he’s acting like I don’t exist." She complained.
Lizzy who was stricken with shock glanced up at her daughter and they locked gazes.
’We need to talk’ She said to Liliana through the mind link and the girl nodded.
"Eat to your fill, Okay honey? We’ll be right back." Lizzy calmly said while Liliana followed behind.
"Could you show me how to do that avocado mask later?" Nancy gleefully asked Liliana.
Liliana managed a nod .
"S- Sure."
With that, Lizzy grabbed her daughter’s hand and pulled her to a secluded spot in the kitchen an after glancing behind the door to ensure that Nancy was too engrossed in her food to eavesdrop, she turned to her daughter and frowned heavily.
"Did you know about this?!"
Liliana stared at her in shock and disbelief.
"I’m just hearing about this right now!"
Lizzy rubbed her chin.
"What if ...she’s joking?" Liliana carefully asked .
"No. No." Lizzy absentmindedly waved her hands. "She doesn’t look like she was joking about it. After all, that was a trivial matter. It wasn’t something to joke about."
"I can’t believe Koam found his mate, tried to reject her and hid everything from us. I’m going to ki..."
"No. We’ll just let them think we don’t know.’
Liliana slowly shook her head.
"Them? What do you mean?"
"It’s obvious Raiden knows about this too and the two are keeping the secret from us as well. We wouldn’t have found out; if Nancy wasn’t usually careless with her words, but we won’t let them know we’ve found out."
"Why?"
"Because if he finds out, he’ll do everything possible to send her away. We have to stay In between the sidelines and act sagaciously."
"Okay..." Liliana folded her arms ."So what?"
"You... are going to play cupid between them."
Chapter 88
Liliana pursed her lips for a while, as usual, pondering on what her mum had just thought of...
"Koan is possibly the best Alpha suitable for ruling the pack. He’s Astounding, intelligent, brilliant and makes the right decisions when it concerns critical issues in the pack. But he lacks emotional support and that’s a Luna," Lizzy began while Liliana folded her arms, directing her full attention on her mother. "Following up what happened this morning at the dinning, Koan’s strange behavior and Nancy’s sudden appearance, I’m completely sure, Nancy is his fated mate."
"But with what’s been happening... he doesn’t seem to want her." Liliana adds.
"That’s where you come in."
"If Koan finds out I’m trying to get him closer to Nancy or the other way round, he’ll skin me Alive."
"That’s why he shouldn’t know we’re aware of Nancy’s real identity."
"Well... I’ll onky WILLINGLY agree... IF Raiden backs me up. It’s obvious he’s on the same team as us since he personally brought her here."
"Okay... Sure," The woman warily replied. "You can appoint him as your... assistant. I’ll try to help but if I butt in too much, its obvious your cousin will notice."
Lilian almost suqealed In delight at the thought of she and Raiden working side by side, getting close during their time together.
Suddenly, they saw a blue haired creature meekly pop its head into the kitchen.
Nancy finally came into view holding a empty plate which she had licked clean of syrup.
She blushed and her eyes grew wide as she asked cutely,
"Is there any more."
Lizzy’s poor heart almost shattered in pieces at how vunerable she looked.
"It’s all finished but there’s some apple pie in the fridge."
Nancy rushed into the kitchen, a delighted smile glinting in her eyes as Lizzy went over to open the fridge.
"So? Nancy... why don’t you want to stay in your own room." Liliana carefully asked as Lizzy cut the pie.
Nancy pouted.
"I want to stay together with my mate but he doesn’t want me. He locked me out and I had to sit Infront of his room all day and now my back’s so sore." She complained and Liliana’s eyes widened.
No wonder she hadn’t unpacked. Had she really sat Infront of his room like an adamnat child, expecting her strong-headed cousin to suddenly give in and let her in.
"Well that’s not a problem because I can get Koan’s keys." Liliana confidently said.
Lizzy arched an eyebrow at her overly consistent daughter as Nancy began wolfing down the pie, staring at Liliana in awe.
"How do you think you’d do that?"
Liliana sucked on her lower lip as her gaze trailed down to the floor.
"This is going to be way harder than I thought."
"Doesn’t Koan have a spare key?"Lizzy asked
"It’d be in his office for sure. But he doesn’t let anyone go in there as well."
"Well she can’t hvae her bags lying on the ground. Liliana you’ll take her in till you figure out how to get access to Koan’s room."
"But Mum..."
Lizzy took off her apron, revealing a pale white gown she wore underneath.
"I’m not just your mother, I have duties to fulfill, you know, and since you’re not doing much around here, figure it out yourself!" She turned to Nancy. "Honey, if you need anything and I mean ANYTHING, don’t hesitate to ask okay."
Nancy nodded and watched as the woman left, In curiosity.
"Okay..." The two were left alone now. "Let’s head up to my room."
"Who’s going to do the dishes."
"The Omegas will. Don’t worry about that."
She handed the duffel bag over to Nancy before she could say another word and dutifully carried her trolley upstairs, Nancy behind her.
"Whoa!" Nancy exclaimed once the door shut behind her, enclosing her in the expanse of Liliamass room. "Pink!" Was the one word that she could use to define it.
Bedsheets?
Pink.
Wallpaper?
Pink
Alarm clock? Vase? Even the flowers? Towel? Bathroom door?
Pink
Even the rug, her feet was buried in was pink.
It was like a Pink Haven
While she stood there, turning in small circles to make sure she had a chance to view everything in sight, Liliana placed her trolley and bag at the side. They were the two odd looking items in her room since everything was covered in different shades of pink.
"Do you like my room?" Liliana’s asked, hopping onto her bed while Nancy fell against the bed, dizzy from spinning so much, her hair sprawled on the bed like waves of blue ink.
"... Raiden says I was deranged by thinking of making this room as idealistic as a pink heaven. But what’s wrong if a girl just wants to stance with a color. Pink is a beautiful color. After all, Most girls like pink."
Nancy’s eyes glazed over the room lazily.
"I like blue."
"Oh..." She bit her lip, visibly disappointed but suddenly said. "Well Koan likes blue. We’re starting off somewhere. Is there anything else you two have in common?"
Nancy sat up and sat in same criss cross legged position as her, her hands on her knees.
"Well, what does Koan like?" She asked
Lilina rolled her eyes heavenward in a thoughtful stance before replying,
"Why don’t you tell me what you like and I’ll see if it’s the same with Koan’s interests."
"Well... Let’s see... I really don’t know where to start from. I have a lot of hobbies, dislikes and likes."
"Okay. I’ll ask the questions," Liliana put her hands together in a praying stance, the tip of her fingers brushing against her lips. "What’s something you usually do on a normal boring day."
Nancy pursed her lips before saying.
"I guess... training?"
Liliana blinked and shook her head like she was getting rid of annoying flies buzzing around her ears.
"You train?"
"You’re not ... one of those people who think training is for the Male wolves, are you?"
"What?! Of course not. I’m just Astonished, not stunned to disbelief. I train as well. I’ve just never seen any other she-wolf who literally trains as a hobby."
"Does Koan train very often as well."
"Koan spends most of his time doing office work but he trains. You can say that’s his hobby since anything fun he ever does aside these two is clubbing and bringing Sluts home to bed. I’m glad he’s found his mate. At least he’ll stop sleeping around like a man-whore"
She suddenly snapped her head towards Nancy when she realized the last few words she said wasn’t supposed to come out that way...
What would she think about her mate bedding other she-wolves?!
Chapter 89
Nancy pursed her lips before tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear as she inquired,
"How... many women has Koan slept with?"
"Um... " Liliana scratched her throat as she looked away to avoid meeting her eyes. "Just... a few."
Nancy narrowed her eyes at her, sure she was hiding something from her. Something more than just ’a few’.
"Tell me."
Liliana sighed and unclenched her hands from the sheets.
She asked for it.
"I’ve been keeping close tabs and so far, I know about 43 of them... "
Nancy’s eyes widened as she leaned forward while Liliana leaned backwards, feeling her warm breath on her face.
"You’re telling me he’s slept with 43 women?!"
"Just the ones I know." She replied honestly.
"Well," she was low In spirit as she leaned back, almost burning with an unfamiliar feeling of jealousy as she imagined all those slutty women prowling around HER mate. "That’s in her past now because since I’m here, I’m going to devise a plan to ensure he NEVER looks at any other she-wolf other than me, His mate!"
Liliana didn’t expect her to speak so strong-willed. A while ago, she sincerely thought she’d be too devastated about Koan’s man-whore nature to think of anything else.
Nancy sighed as she continued,
"He’s an Alpha and undoubtedly, with his innate charm, he won’t have much difficulty attracting women. His charisma and sexual magnetism are more preferable to most women so I won’t blame him. But I’m here now and he should be ready to take me on as a challenge!"
"If you must know Nancy," Liliana raises a brow while she pulled out a pink situcace from under her bed and slammed it onto the bed, in-between the girls. "Alphas like Koan bravely face challenges head on. Infact, Koan thrives when life throws him a curve ball. I’ve never seen anyone who conquers any challenge as much as Koan does. Do you think you’re the perfect challenger to take him head on without getting bogged down?" She began zipping open the suitcase.
Nancy confidently smirked.
"Then he should know I’m just as stubborn as he is. Even when the stakes get high, I will stand and strive and if I fall, I’ll stand, dust myself up and try again. I’m not one to give up easily either. I’ll get my rightful mate mark and become his Luna."
Liliana nodded in approval at her choice of words.
"Just know... you’re not alone in this."
"You’ll help me?"
She gave her future Luna a toothy grin and threw the suitcase open and Nancy’s jaw dropped as she said,
"What are cousin-in-laws for?!"
The suitcase looked like an xxx compartment.
Vibrators, dildos, BDSM kits, nipple clamps, clitoral stimulators, lingeries of all colors and designs, sexy cosplay costumes, whip, hand-cuffs...
Just about anything you’d imagine for a hot steamy romance session was piled up in the bag.
"Where," Nancy ransacked the case with her two hands, pulling out a blue colored dildo and staring intently at it, before turning to Liliana with a flushed face. "... Did you get all these?"
"Forget that now," Liliana avoided the question, not wanting to sound creepy by admitting she got them for she and Raiden’s future honeymoon. "what do you think of this?"
She pulled up two pink nighties that a stripper would wear, with an excited smile.
Nancy blushed profusely but since she trusted Liliana enough to realize she was helping her, she decided to go along with whatever plan she got.
"Don’t you have them in blue?"
"Seriously, Nancy?"
"You said Koan loves blue, right?"
"Heh. That won’t matter to him once he rips this nightie into shreds like a prowling wolf!"
"Aren’t we rushing things? I could just get to know him better and let him see the potential future Luna in me before going ahead with, " she picked another dildo with a huge handle. "This!"
"This is my cousin we’re talking about here. The only way he’d talk to you and try to get to know you better is under the sheets, sipping wine after mind blowing SEX!"
"So... how do you get Koan to talk to you?"
Liliana rolled her eyes and blushed, resisting the urge to flick her forehead.
"That’s different."
Nancy threw back the dildo in the suitcase and hugged her knees to her chest.
"I’ve never been more nervous in my life."
Liliana’s expression softened as she leaned over the suitcase to put her hand around her shoulders.
"You just have to be confident Nancy and with so much as a few minutes since I’ve known you, you won’t have a problem with that."
"That’s not it," Liliana flinched on seeing the tears spilling out her eyes and shifted the suitcase aside so she could sit closer to her.
"Nancy." Her voice was soft, like a whisper, as she stroked her hair fondly, worry Inher eyes, wondering where the hyper active girl went and was suddenly replaced by this one.
This depressed girl who looked like a scared puppy, drenched in the rain with no hope of getting a home.
Nancy covered her face with her palm before turning to Liliana.
"I don’t have a home, Liliana. My father termed me as the useless child who doesn’t have a perspective in life and he’s giving away my position as Alpha. I’ve been living in Blood moon’s pack with my best friend, Talia. But no matter how much she wants me to accept her pack as my pack and my home, I know it’s not going to be the same because I don’t share a blood oath with their Alpha," her sobs became heart-breaking and Liliana didn’t realize when tears fell down her own eyes, rolling down her cheeks. "And when I find my mate, what’s the first thing he does? He tried to reject me."
"What?" Liliana was angry on hearing the last part but her throat had tightened due to her tears, so all that left her lips was a harsh whisper.
"I just want to be with my mate. I want him to love me. I want him to mark me as his and exercise his ownership over me. I want to show my father that I’m not as useless as he thinks... " Nancy suddenly sighed and wiped her face clean with the back of her hands. "I guess... I’m just asking too much?"
Liliana broke down, sniveling as she held Nancy, the edge of her eyes twitching as she tried to force her tear filled eyes open to look into Nancy’s huge ones.
"No you’re not. You’re just asking to be loved. You just want your rights. There’s nothing immense about that."
"Then why does it feel like it’s a challenge? An obstacle?"
"Because it is Nancy. Life is like an arrow and a bow. An arrow can only be shot by moving it backwards. When life is dragging you down with obstacles and challenges, it means that it’s going to launch you into success someday. I believe you can do anything you want if you just believe in yourself Nancy. You’re confident, you lack motivation but... I’m here for you. I may not be Talia and we just met," She chuckled painfully. "What? Like an hour ago... but I promise you, with me by your side, you’ll gain Koan’s trust and love. You’ll get marked, you’ll prove to Ruby Stone’s pack who they termed useless and you’ll take back your position as She-Alpha. I promise."
Chapter 90
"I met her back at Ruby Stone’s pack for the two moon’s festival." Koan admitted, his posture calm and compused, chin up, hands face-palmed beside his waist, back straight, his legs crossed atop the car he sat on while Raiden sat beside him, his legs down the car.
"How come you two forgot about each other?"
"It was a short encounter and I wasn’t aiming to remember her," Koan smiled. It was small and bitter and his jaw ticked with frustration. "Who would have known we’d cross paths again but In a more complicated way."
"What happened?"
*
After Alpha Kenry told his daughter off, Nancy ran out on the guests, bawling her eyes out.
The Alpha, well self-esteemed man did not make her his priorities and instead focused on the mess she had laid ahead of his plans.
While he ordered the Omegas to begin a thorough cleaning of the dining room, the guests went upstairs.
Lizzy stopped Alpha Koan on his way; upstairs with his father.
"Follow her and check if she’s alright."
"Who?"
"The Alpha’s daughter. She left some minutes ago and she’s not yet back. Just check if she’s alright."
Koan snorted arrogantly.
"What makes you think I care aunt."
"Because she might DO something to herself."
"She’s an adult. I’m sure she can take care of herself wherever she is."
"Koan Matthew McConner."
Kaon glances around and gritted his teeth when he noticed the Omegas were hiding smiles behind their hands. He glared at his aunty.
"Aunt!!!"
Lizzy pointed In the direction where Nancy had run off to.
"Do as I say Koan or I’ll do more than just calling your full name."
Kaon sighed, visibly not happy with the recent development of movements but he couldn’t disobey his aunt.
Sighing again while running his hand through his signature disheveled hair, he ran out the back.
After roaming around the huge compound for a some minutes, he heard soft sobs coming several meters away.
He followed the sound and paused on the sight.
A slender girl of no more than 12 years old was sitting Infront of a swimming pool, knees hunched up to her chin, arms wrapped around her legs as she stared into the water.
The night breeze swished her bright blue hair to and fro. It was long and cascaded down to her back.
For a while, he just stood far of, watching as she stayed in that same posture, sobbing quietly.
After some time, he shrugged and joined her, quietly sitting beside her, pulling his knees up to his chin as well, in the same posture as she was in.
He didn’t look at her again and focused his gaze on the water which reflected the bright stars shining up ahead and the two moons.
One of Ruby Stone’s pack and the other, Crescent Moon’s pack.
Two moon’s ceremony was an occasion between two packs when their moons appeared close to each other on the same night. A meeting deciding which pack was going to be used as the venue of celebratiom was concluded with the two Alphas having the final say and conclusion.
The occasion was important and lots of people from the two packs were elated to
participate in the occasion because this meant that the Moon goddess, Selena, was planning on uniting two special persons from each pack as mates whether they weren’t of the age or not.
Nancy wiped her tears when she noticed another prescence beside her and cautiously turned, letting her legs drop down to the water.
Koan was looking ahead now, tired of seeing the water below them turn to ripples when her tears hit them but when he felt his gaze on her, he made a mistaken of turning and locking eyes with the brightest odd colored eyes he had ever seen.
For a full minute, they just sat side by side, staring at each other, one in surprise, one, curious.
Slowly he wrapped his arms around his hunched up knees and turned away from her.
"Aren’t you too young to be putting on contact lenses?"
"Huh? I’m not... wearing contact lenses."
He blinked and looked at her again, Not aware of how much eefect he was having on her by gazing deep into her eyes with his metallic blue ones.
She blushed and looked away, shyly tucking a strand of hair behind her ear when he wouldn’t stop scrutinizing her.
"So," Koan made to get up. "I was following orders to make sure you were... Okay. I better get going."
Nancy suddenly reached out and grabbed his arm, pulling him down with such a remarkably stronng force that he stared at her in shock, jaw almost touching the floor.
The strength she just exerted right now was in contrast to the meek pleading look in her huge eyes.
"Can you just stay a little while with me."
Koan’s gaze was lost in hers for the nth time and this time, it was coupled with the thoughts of fluffy rabbits. He suddenly shook his head vigorously, as if to ascertain the thoughts weren’t his.
"What? Do you have something to say?"
"I just... want some company."
"Well, there’s a huge ceremony Tonight. Surely, your friends must have attended it. Go to them for company."
Nancy suddenly looked down, legs splashing softly in the water as she twirled her fingers around one another.
"I... I don’t have friends."
Kaom snorted.
"That makes two of us."
She turned to him with huge looking eyes.
"Could you... stop looking at me like..."
"Really?"
Koan sighed warily.
"Really what?!"
"You said ’That makes two of us’. That means.... You don’t have friends."
"Yeah. Is that a problem?"
"N-No," She vigorously shook her head, getting overly excited. "But... but I was wondering if we could be friends then."
"Why?"
"B... because I don’t have friends too?"
"You don’t know me and I don’t know you. So what type of friendship are you proposing?"
"I know you’re Alpha Chad’s son of Crescent Moon’s pack."
"So? I know you’re Alpha Henry’s daughter of Ruby Stone’s pack but that’s not enough reason for us to be friends."
"Then let’s just get to know each other."
"No."
"Please?"
"No."
"P..."
"I don’t have time for this. I came to carry out an order and that’s what I did."
He tried to stand but she pulled him down in the same way again. He glared at her, flushed in anger and embrassment.
"How do you keep doing that?"
She blinked innocently at him.
He suddenly grabbed her arms and unknowingly yanked her close, placing his feet into the water as he scrutinized her arms.
"What do you have here? Muscles?"
She froze, lips parted in shock when she realized just how close their lips were to meet. She didn’t even feel the hot touch of his hand against her bare skin as he scrutinized her arm and only did when she looked up.
Their lips suddenly brushed against each other.
Reflexively, he pushed her away and she fell back, staring at him in shock as he got up.
"Why does everyone I meet always seem to hate me. Even my dad hates me. Why??!" She yelled at him, sobbing hard, as he walked away from her, fast.
He stopped but didn’t dare to turn.
"Maybe if you’d stop acting like a child all the time, then maybe people will find a reason to love you."
