Ch. 1351..1360: Chapter 1351-1360
Chapter 1351
"Feeling betrayed by someone you trusted sucks, doesn't it? Are you furious and hateful because you don't know how things turned out this way?" Bonnie questioned.
Falcon noticed her indifferent tone before looking away in fear. Although Bonnie had been an
organization leader for a long time, he had to admit her imposing demeanor remained. She was even more assertive than ever, and Falcon could not bear to maintain eye contact.
Bonnie stood up and continued, "You stole the chip my organization spent years working on. How you feel now is how I felt when I heard of your betrayal. It was worse for me!"
She grew increasingly furious as she added, "You considered Barrett a brother because he risked his life for you, but you resent him now because you feel betrayed.
"Don't you remember everyone in the organization, including Collin and I, risking our lives for you during missions? Did you consider that when you stole the chip and betrayed us?"
Falcon did not know how to respond. He wanted to retort but knew he was wrong.
'Boyd is giving me a taste of my own medicine. I felt disheartened when I discovered he had disguised himself as Barrett. Now I know how betrayal feels. Still, I have a good reason for my actions. I've done nothing wrong!!
Bonnie gazed at Falcon profoundly and was about to continue when she heard Billy's resentful voice, "I knew there was something off about you, Barrett! You're not as innocent as you seemed, but I never expected the Nidhoggs' leader to infiltrate my organization for the chip!"
Billy had many possibilities in his mind when he was brought here. However, he never expected "Barrett" to be the leader of the Nidhoggs.
Bonnie turned to Billy and grinned, asking, "Is that your way of complimenting me?"
"Hah!" Billy sneered menacingly. "How shameless of you to assume that."
"So, it wasn't a compliment?" Bonnie said calmly with a hint of mischief.
However, her demeanor was insulting to Billy. After all, she had played him like a fiddle, and he could do nothing about it. The more he thought about it, the angrier he became. He even reddened with rage as his breathing became uneven.
The joy in Bonnie's eyes intensified when she noticed it. "I had an excellent time in your organization, Billy. Thanks for that."
Then, she glanced coldly at Falcon and added, "I must thank you for taking such good care of this traitor, too. You even delivered him to me in one piece. That'll make it easier for me to punish him."
Billy's fury burned, but she continued leisurely, "I owe you one, Billy. I wouldn't have pulled it off so smoothly without your trust."
Chapter 1352
Billy felt like a fool. After all, he had trusted "Barrett" and even planned to make him second-in-
command. Billy wished he could travel back in time and slap himself for having too much faith in Barrett. The former regretted not being able to see through the disguise.
Billy glared at Bonnie, wishing to kill her. Meanwhile, the latter looked calm and unintimidated. Instead, she was passive-aggressive. "Again, I'm grateful for everything you did for me. I'll repay your kindness to avoid looking ungrateful.
"I'll take over your organization and relieve you of your burdens. You'll have a much easier life from now on. You no longer have to work so hard."Chapter
Bonnie said that to crush Billy's spirit, knowing his organization was what meant most to him. The latter was devastated as she kept hitting him where it hurt. He felt like he would throw up at any moment, stammering, "Y-You little-"
Billy pointed at her tremblingly. He stuttered but could not speak coherently.
"Relax, Billy." Bonnie smiled and crossed her arms. She looked pure and harmless, but Billy saw her as an evil wolf in sheep's clothing. He even suspected Bonnie had more to say. He looked at her vigilantly and asked, "Wh-what do you mean?"
Bonnie said smilingly, "Since you're so interested in what I'm about to say, I'll continue,"
Billy was annoyed with how she kept him in suspense. He felt she had utter control over him, but he could do nothing about it. "Just tell me! Stop beating around the bush!"
"Hahaha!" Bonnie could not help but laugh. "Fine, you look like you can barely wait to hear the good news. I guess I'll just tell you."
She paused and looked into his eyes. Finally, she said, "If I remember correctly, you want to rule over all the international organizations. I intend to release all your hostages and return them to their families.
"Afterward, their organizations will find their way to you. Then, you can win them over and add them to your ranks."
Billy was not happy to hear that. After all, he was the one who tortured his hostages. If Bonnie released them and returned them to their families, their organizations would want revenge,
Chapter 1353noveldrama
'Forget about even trying to win over my hostages. I'd be lucky if they don't rip me to shreds!'
As Billy was thinking, Bonnie gave him another piece of shocking news, "Since it'll take those families and their organizations some time to find you, it'll delay your chances of winning them over. To avoid that, I organized a massive party for you. I'm considerate, aren't I?"
Billy was puzzled for a moment. Then, he scoffed and said sarcastically, "Don't expect me to think you're doing this out of kindness."
Bonnie grinned coldly. "What do you mean? I've always been kind-hearted."
Billy was frightened when he saw the coldness in her eyes. However, he quickly regained his composure and said, "Cut to the chase! What do you mean you organized a party for me?!"
Whatever she said next, he would refuse to believe she was kind-hearted. Soon after, he realized something, and his eyes widened.
'Does Boyd mean he's gathering the hostages and their organizations? Is he planning to let them get their revenge?
Bonnie's following response verified Billy's speculation. "It's a party, so we'll need everyone to be here to ensure we have a good time together. I listed everyone you've hurt and even contacted their families. "Still, I might've missed a few of your victims since you're ruthless enough to torture far more than those on my list. That said, I've amassed at least eight thousand people. That should be enough, right?"
Bonnie stared into Billy's eyes, smiling as she added, "What do you think the victims' families will do when they see the person who tortured their loved ones? Do you think they'll tear you apart? They might even torture you the same way you tortured their loved ones."
Bonnie watched as Billy paled. She crossed her arms and clicked her tongue disapprovingly, saying, "Just thinking about it excites me! I had a lot of trouble organizing the party and gathering these people. It'll all be worth it."
Billy had always considered himself experienced. Still, he felt a chill run down his spine when he heard that. He said, "I-I treated you with nothing but kindness and generosity when you were in my organization. You can't do this to me!"
Bonnie shrugged and said snidely, "I organized this party to express my gratitude. What more do you want?"
"Why, you" Billy was furious.
"Well, if that's not enough, I'll have to put on my thinking cap. I'll see if I can figure out something to make things more interesting for you." Bonnie rubbed her chin in contemplation.
Billy could only watch. Suddenly, he realized how terrifying Bonnie could be. Under normal circumstances, he would admire her, but he could not accept it when he was the one receiving it.
"That's enough!" Billy glared at Bonnie. "Don't you fear karma if you treat me this way?"
Bonnie smiled at him. "Karma? You must be joking. Nothing I do can compare to your cruelness, Billy. You weren't concerned about karma when you tortured those people, were you? So, what's there to fear?"
Chapter 1354
Billy realized Bonnie was adamant about torturing him to death, so he gradually became more accommodating. "What will it take for you to let me go?"
He finally realized Bonnie was a maniac, and he could not negotiate with her. He had to give in to what she wanted and do as she said. Only then could he escape her wrath.
Bonnie fiddled with her fingers as she said, "Well, you'll have to ask the victims' families that. I'm fine if they're willing to let you go. After all, you treated me well when I was in your organization. I've already gathered them, so it's not my right to decide whether or not to let you go."
"You son of a bitch!" Billy was outraged. "It looks like you won't let me go, no matter what I say,"
Bonnie raised her brow mysteriously. Billy knew what that look meant and could only laugh hysterically," Hahaha! Perfect!"
Then, he grinned menacingly and pulled out a pistol. He aimed it at Bonnie's head and shouted, "Die, you bastard!"
Collin's heart raced when he saw that. "Watch out!"
However, Bonnie had predicted this long ago. As Billy squeezed the trigger, she kicked his wrist. Bang!
Billy felt an intense pain in his wrist. "Ahhh!"
Simultaneously, he dropped his gun. Even so, he refused to give up. He motioned to pick up the gun, but Bonnie kicked it away before he could reach it, shattering his last glimmer of hope. Billy staggered to his feet and yelled, "I'll kill you!"
Bonnie kept still and watched as he approached. As he was about to reach her, she kicked him.
Thud!
Billy flew and bounced off a wall before falling to the ground. "Pfft! Cough, cough, cough!"
He spat a mouthful of blood and felt an excruciating pain in his stomach. He took a moment to gather himself and glared at Bonnie. "Kill me already. Don't torture me. Give me a swift death!"Chapter
Billy despised Bonnie. He felt sorrow and despair but could do nothing about it.
Bonnie watched him suffer in misery. Then, she turned to Collin and said, "Take him away. Don't make the victims' families wait."
"Right away, Chief," Collin responded, glancing at his two men. They nodded at him and quickly took Billy away.
Chapter 1355
As the two men dragged Billy away, he howled, "Kill me! Don't do this to me!"
His voice grew distant as they took him away. Although the Nidhoggs had grown accustomed to such things, Falcon felt indescribably tortured.
He thought, 'Billy never caused substantial damage to Boyd, but even he met a grim end. Meanwhile, I'm the traitor who stole Boyd's chip. I can only imagine how it'll end for me. I'll suffer in ways I can't even imagine.'
Falcon's thought scared him so much that he began to shiver. He hunched and tried to make himself less noticeable, hoping Bonnie would forget about him. However, that was impossible as Falcon and Billy were the main events, especially the former.
As expected, Bonnie turned her attention to Falcon. She approached him with a terrifyingly calm tone," Do you have anything to say about your betrayal?"
'I know Boyd isn't as calm as he appears. It's merely the calm before the storm. He might overwhelm me soon.'
Falcon paled, not daring to say a word. Meanwhile, Bonnie stared at him and sighed, saying, "You let me down, Falcon."
He thought "Bonnie" would beat him to a pulp for ignoring her. However, she did not hit him or reprimand him. Instead, she only said a few words. Bonnie's words were so heavy that they struck Falcon where it hurt.
'I'd rather Boyd beat me up than have to hear that again. I don't need him to make me feel bad about myself.'
Collin noticed Falcon's silence and could not bear it. The former scolded, "Did you lose your voice, Falcon?! Boyd is talking to you. Answer him!"
Falcon's eyes reddened when he heard that. He glared at Collin and questioned, "What's to you?! It's your fault I turned out like this!"
"What?!" Collin was flabbergasted.
'Falcon's the one who betrayed Bonnie and stole the chip. What do I have to do with it? He must be trying to drive a wedge between Bonnie and me. He's trying to twist the story by blaming me. What a joke!'
"You must be in shock to spout such nonsense, Falcon." Collin looked at Falcon condescendingly.
Falcon sneered. "Boyd wouldn't have ignored me if you hadn't shown up. He would've made me his right- hand man. I'm the one who came first and became his apprentice, and you came a year later. I should've been his most valued asset, so why did he pass you the baton instead?"
That was the most bitter experience in Falcon's life. He could never figure out why it happened that way. Back then, Bonnie said she needed to focus on other things and that she needed to choose someone to run the organization in her place.
Falcon thought it would be him, but Bonnie chose Collin and even gave the latter the highest authority, putting him above Falcon.
'Collin and I were equally capable. What gave him the right to become the leader while I became his henchman? None of it was fair!'Chapter
Collin frowned, saying, "Is that why you stole the chip and betrayed Boyd? You must be joking,"
Chapter 1356
"Why else would I have done it?" Falcon glared daggers at Collin. "Boyd valued you and made you the organization's acting leader. Of course, you thought nothing of it. What about me?!
"I'm just as good as you in every aspect. I also worked with Boyd longer than you, so why did I need to take your shit and let you restrict my growth?"
The more Falcon spoke, the more his hatred intensified, "I just don't get why Boyd entrusted the organization to you when I'm just as, if not more, capable than you. Why the hell did he value you more?! Why?!"
Falcon's voice brimmed with frustration and reluctance. After all, these things had long haunted him.
Meanwhile, Collin could only frown, not knowing how to respond.
'I never knew Falcon was furious about Bonnie making me the organization's acting leader. He even stole the chip and betrayed us because of it. We poured a lot of effort into making that chip.Chapter
'I never even considered the fact that I was the acting leader. I only abided by Bonnie's arrangements and did as she said. I tried my best to make her proud, but it's apparent Falcon doesn't see it that way.'
After hearing Falcon's rage and resentment, Bonnie pursed her lips and sighed. Then, she slowly approached Falcon and patted his shoulder.
The latter froze. Falcon dared not look at Bonnie because he feared the coldness in her eyes. Eventually, he mustered enough courage and looked up. To his surprise, he saw no hatred or disappointment in her expression.
On the contrary, Bonnie looked at peace, soothing Falcon's intensez emotions. He felt confused, wondering why she looked at him that way. After all, he had betrayed the organization.
'Boyd is supposed to hate me and want to punish me. Instead, he looks calm.'
to
Falcon felt like Bonnie was about tell him something monumental. However, considering everything he had done, he thought she would never do that.
'Why is Boyd looking at me like that? I don't sense any hatred. He looks so calm that it's freaking me out.'
Bonnie asked, "You said you never figured out why I entrusted the organization to Collin instead of you, right?"
After some thought, Falcon nodded. "That's right."
Bonnie kept her hand on Falcon's shoulder and looked into his eyes, saying, "Fine, if that's what kept bothering you, I'll tell you why."
Chapter 1357
"If I had made you the acting leader before I left, Collin would've had to listen to you. I knew he would never do something like steal the chip and betray the organization. However, you did, and that's the difference between you two."
Falcon was stunned and uneasy. He wanted to retort, but he had spent almost as much time with Bonnie and Collin. They used to be partners and worked together famously.
Falcon also knew Collin well. That was why the former could not argue with Bonnie. Considering Collin's character, he would never make the same mistakes Falcon made. Even if Collin disagreed with Bonnie's decisions or resented her, he would never betray her.
However, Falcon did, and he had to admit Collin was better than him in that regard.
Bonnie knew Falcon finally understood her. She said, "You finally see it now, right?”
Falcon did not respond. He felt guilty and did not know how to explain his feelings. Meanwhile, Bonnie stared at him and said, "I know you're radical and prone to backing yourself into a corner. I worried about you the most when I left.
"I even told Collin to keep an eye on you. Given your character, I feared you might encounter serious trouble. That's why I told him to ensure your safety. I even made him text me to give me updates about you.
"I spent so much time worrying about you, yet this is what I get in return. You hurt me like no one else did, Falcon." Bonnie shook her head in disappointment. "Saying I'm disappointed doesn't even begin to cover it." Chapter
S
Collin took the opportunity to show Falcon the texts Bonnie had sent him. "Look at these! It's proof of how much Boyd was concerned about you. He has been nothing but good to you, yet you betrayed him! Now, consider what you've done to him and the organization."
Collin was just as disappointed in Falcon as Bonnie was. However, Collin knew she would feel it the worst. After all, she had poured just as much effort into Falcon as with Collin.
'Bonnie has been kind to both of us, but Falcon did something disappointing. All it took was one misguided thought for something to go wrong.' Falcon had wronged Bonnie and betrayed her trust. Collin knew Falcon would regret it once the latter considered his actions.
Falcon was stunned as he read the texts on Collin's phone. The texts read, "Falcon tends to let his emotions sway him during missions. Look after him."
"He did well on this mission. Take him to the warehouse and let him choose whatever he wants as a reward."
"I developed an augmented version
of a medicine for physical injury and prepared ten packets for you and Falcon. Remember to give Falcon his share. Remind him to stay safe and never give in to his impulses during missions."
Chapter 1358
Guilt formed in Falcon's eyes when he saw the apparent concern in Bonnie's texts. He always thought Bonnie valued Collin more and took his side no matter what happened. Finally, Falcon realized she showed them equal value.
Although Bonnie entrusted the organization to Collin, she always remembered Falcon. She knew Falcon was impulsive and occasionally checked in with Collin, even asking the latter to look after Falcon.
Falcon realized he had been petty and narrow-minded. He looked up at Bonnie and began to tear up as he stammered, "Chief, I—I don't—"Chapter
He wanted to apologize and admit his mistakes, but his last shred of pride did not allow it. Moreover, he thought apologizing would not help after what he had done.
Bonnie saw through him, and an inexplicable emotion flashed in her eyes. She said, "That's enough. Since you've caused us a lot of trouble, you must accept your full punishment. We won't go easy on you."
Falcon lowered his head, showing he had nothing to say about the punishment.
Bonnie added, "However, I have to tell you something."
Falcon froze, fearing Bonnie would drop another bombshell. "Wh-what is it?"
She patted his shoulder and said, "You don't have to worry about your family. Your actions had nothing to do with them, so I'll leave them alone. They've been members of the organization before you betrayed us, and that won't change. I'll treat them like my own and ensure they live good lives."
Falcon's regret intensified when he heard that. He thought he was an orphan long ago, but one day, Bonnie said she had a surprise for one of his birthdays. She led him somewhere, and several people
went to hug him.
Those people were overwhelmed with joy and smiles. Falcon did not understand it and even felt a little uncomfortable then. Afterward, Bonnie told him that they were Falcon's parents and siblings.
That day, he realized he was not an orphan. He learned that human traffickers had kidnapped him during his childhood when he was on a trip with his parents. They had been searching for him since then.
When Bonnie thought about it, she devoted herself to searching for Falcon's parents. Ultimately, fate brought them together and made it possible for Falcon to reunite with his family.
After that, he occasionally spent
time with his parents and siblings.
He could sense they loved him profoundly, and he finally knew what
it was like to have a family. It was something he had never
ov
experienced before.
Chapter 1359
Falcon had never experienced such bliss, and he had Bonnie to thank for that. If she had not taken the time to search for his family, he would have never known how much they loved him.
However, Falcon had wronged the Nidhoggs and also sided with their enemy. He even tried to make his colleagues from the Nidhoggs bow to him and control them. The more he thought about it, the more sorrowful and embarrassed he felt.
'I just don't know why I betrayed Boyd after he treated me so well. Why the hell did I do that? I regret it and hate myself so much. Now that I've made my bed, I must lie in it. Things can't go back to the way they were.'
The guilt in Falcon's eyes gradually turned into anguish. After all, he had made a massive mistake. He wanted to make amends but knew there was nothing he could do.
Then, Bonnie said something that broke him, "Your dad is about to celebrate his seventieth birthday, right? I'll give him a highly valuable herb as a present from all of us at the organization."
She sounded calm, but her words made Falcon tremble. He instinctively recalled Bonnie telling everyone in the organization to hunt for that particular herb. Moreover, she got hurt while obtaining the herb.
Back then, Falcon thought Bonnie simply obtained the herb for someone important to her. Otherwise, she would not have made such a sacrifice. Finally, he realized she searched for that herb for his father.
'Dad has always been in poor health. Once he gets that herb, it'll make him stronger and help him live longer. I never expected Boyd to do something like that for Dad. Boyd has done a lot for me and my family, yett betrayed him.'
Falcon held his head and slumped to the ground before yelling in misery, "Ahhh!"
Bonnie could only stare at him. She had nothing to say about it, except that it was such a shame to see Falcon like that.
'I spent much time and effort to mentor Falcon. I've always considered him a good friend, but one misstep was all it took for him to forsake our friendship. We've known each other for more than a decade, too.'
Anyone would feel pity if they were in Bonnie's shoes. Then, she heard Falcon's agitated cries, "I'm so sorry, Boyd! I genuinely am! I just "
Bonnie sighed, feeling conflicted as
n
she said, "An apology won't change a thing after what you've done. That said, it's good that you know the error of your ways and are willing to change for the better. I want you to carry this feeling through your punishment."
Bonnie heard his apology and sighed with a mix of emotions.
"N-No..." Falcon shook his head, his eyes welling with tears. "I can't ask for your forgiveness. I made a grave mistake and dishonored you. I'm just an animal! I entrust my parents to you, Boyd. I have no right to look at
them."
Chapter 1360
Bonnie raised her brows. She had a terrible feeling in her gut. "What are you trying to say, Falcon?"Chapter
He grinned bitterly and said, "I'll repay you in the afterlife if I can, Boyd."
Suddenly, he snatched a gun from the nearest person and shot himself.
Bang!
Then, Bonnie heard a thud as Falcon's corpse hit the ground.
"Falcon!" Collin stared at the man lying in a pool of blood in disbelief. He had thought of many ways things could have turned out after capturing Falcon, but he never expected Falcon to kill himself.
Although Collin sensed Falcon's regret and sorrow, the former did not think Falcon would shoot himself like that.
'Falcon was my friend for over a decade. Even though he betrayed us, I never thought he'd do something like that!'
Collin turned to Bonnie and muttered, "Chief, I—"
Bonnie continued to stare at Falcon's corpse with a hint of anguish in her eyes. Of course, she was mad at him for what he had done, but she never thought he would take his own life. Moreover, Falcon was someone she used to entrust her life to.
With that in mind, Bonnie lowered her gaze to try to hide her pain. Collin noticed her trying to suppress her feelings and knew she felt much worse than he did.
He approached and soothed her, "Don't feel bad about it, Chief. Falcon decided to do that, knowing it was the best ending for himself. We should let it go."
Bonnie could only sigh. "Falcon's dead. If I remember correctly, you used to visit him at his parents' place. They were good to you and
considered you their own, die andet.
they? You should take good care of Fateon's parents and siblings for him."
After collecting herself, she added, "I didn't say that to try and shove all the responsibilities on you. I just want you to spend more time with them while I take care of their financial needs and other things.
“Falcon's death will break their hearts. They'll have an easier time grieving with you around, Collin.”
Collin could not help but remember the good times he had with Falcon. They always chatted over a beer or two and wore their hearts on their sleeves around each other. Collin' intended to become Falcon's best friend, and they would support each other in the organization
Collin never thought this would be how things ended between them. He glanced at Falcon one more time
and sighed heavily. Then, he said t
with melancholy, "Leave that to me, Chief I'll treat Falcon's family as my own. You didn't even need to tell me to."
A moment later, Collin approached Falcon's corpse and knelt beside him to close the latter's eyes.
