Ch. 1361..1370: Chapter 1361-1370

Chapter 1361

Collin said, "Rest in peace, Falcon. I'll look after your family."

Bonnie pursed her lips, wanting to say something. However, she ultimately turned around and left. Although she seemed unfazed, she began to tear up.

Once she left, the man standing beside Collin asked, "What should we do with Falcon?"

Collin sighed and responded solemnly, "Take him back to headquarters and give him a proper burial." "Understood." The man nodded and carried Falcon away with the help of another fellow Nidhogg. Meanwhile, Ivor watched everything and recalled what "Bonnie" told Falcon. Ivor sighed and said, "I didn't consider Boyd to be the sentimental type."

Considering everything Falcon had done, Ivor always thought Bonnie would beat him to a pulp after capturing him. However, Bonnie bared her soul and had a deep conversation with Falcon.

'Boyd's an incredible man. Not only is he capable, but his character is impeccable. It's a shame his subordinate wasn't loyal.'

Yasmine lifted her chin and puffed her chest, saying pridefully, "Of course, he is! My savior wouldn't have risked his life to save me at the underground market if he wasn't a good person. Also, I was nothing but a stranger to him then. Mr. Boyd is the best!"

Ivor's lips twitched. "Must you praise him every day?"

"That's not it." A hint of embarrassment flashed across her eyes. "I'll only praise him when he does something worth praising."Chapter

Of course, Yasmine would praise "Bonnie" every chance she got. It would be an understatement to say Yasmine was a fangirl. She noticed Ivor's silence and said, "Mr. Boyd is worth praising. Even you think he's a badass, don't you?"

Ivor was stumped. He had to admit that "Bonnie" was capable, but Yasmine did not need to praise him so much. That said, Ivor did not speak his mind.

'Considering Yasmine's character, she'll only have a stronger reaction if I say anything now.'

At that moment, Ivor saw Collin approaching. The latter then said, "Mr. Boyd wants to see you. He intends to discuss the chip with you."

Ivor raised his brows in surprise. "Your boss just experienced something traumatic. Doesn't he need time to process it? The chip can wait."

Collin had expected such a response. He said, "Boyd knew you'd say that and wanted me to tell you that our organization's internal matters won't affect our work. Since he wants to see you, you can talk to him now."

Chapter 1362

Ivor felt impressed with "Bonnie's" with ethics. The former said, "I know your boss is versatile, and his actions have shown me a new side to him. Everything about him is extraordinary."

Yasmine saw Ivor's expression and could not resist praising her savior again, "Mr. Boyd is just awesome, isn't he?"

Ivor glanced sidelong at her when he heard that.Chapter

Yasmine immediately understood his look and quickly covered her mouth. Only then did Ivor turn away and say, "Please, take me to him."

Collin nodded. "Right away. You have a contract with Mr. Boyd, after all."

"You're right," Ivor responded dryly before following Collin.

Soon after, they reached the ground level and stood at the side of the street. "Bonnie" was already waiting for them there. At that moment, a blast of wind blew past her. It billowed her shirt and exposed her slender figure.

Ivor noticed it and recalled the various skills "Bonnie" had demonstrated earlier. He found it hard to imagine how such a tiny person could contain such power. Not only that, but she could even keep calm after experiencing something somber.

It was hard for Ivor not to respect "Bonnie" after witnessing all that.

The latter heard footsteps approaching and turned to see Ivor. She calmly addressed him, "You're here. Come on, let's talk in the car."

"All right." Ivor did not object.

'Honestly, my organization did nothing much to help the Nidhoggs. We might've signed a contract, but Boyd still wants to discuss the chip after dealing with something so traumatic. That tells me how serious he takes our agreement.'

Ivor realized he would lose nothing by working with "Bonnie." He was more than happy to follow her arrangements.

Yasmine instinctively followed along, but Collin stopped her. "Mr. Vic is about to discuss the chip with my boss. You shouldn't be there. If you want to chat with Mr. Boyd, wait until they're done."

Yasmine had done many things without Ivor's permission, making him angry with her. However, he always suppressed his anger because her brother had died for him. That said, Ivor would stop tolerating her if she continued to disobey him.

If she did, he would punish her severely.

Meanwhile, Yasmine understood how serious the discussion was. She could not help but feel embarrassed once Collin reminded her about it. She replied, "I-I didn't mean to follow them. It was just instinctual."

She was grateful that Collin stopped her from following Ivor and Bonnie. Otherwise, Ivor would have skinned her alive if she messed up their conversation concerning the chip.

Collin sighed inwardly, wondering why Yasmine kept falling deeper in love with Bonnie. 'I wonder how Yasmine will react if she ever finds out Boyd is Bonnie disguised as a man.'

Chapter 1363

'Yasmine would probably have a mental meltdown and become depressed. In any case, it won't be Bonnie's fault. She has rejected Yasmine countless times and also told her they can't be together.'

However, Yasmine was too obsessed with "Bonnie" and simply would not listen to anyone.

Yasmine interrupted Collin's thoughts, saying, "Collin, can I ask you something?"

He returned to his senses and looked at her. "What is it?"

"Um..." Yasmine bit her lip, hesitant. "Now that you have the chip, does that mean Mr. Boyd will go back home?"

She wondered if "Bonnie" would return to her "wife" and have some lovey-dovey time together. That was what Yasmine wanted to ask but could not bring herself to say it. After all, she and "Bonnie" were nothing but acquaintances.

'I guess we're only friends. I don't have a right to ask something like that since it's too presumptuous. What if Collin tells Boyd what I asked him? What if that makes Boyd think less of me?'

Meanwhile, Collin was stunned. After some thought, he asked, "How do you know Boyd isn't from around here?"

"M-My boss told me!" A hint of unease flashed in Yasmine's eyes.

"Oh, I see." Collin nodded understandingly. "Yeah, my boss isn't from here, and he won't stick around, either. I guess he'll leave after wrapping things up."

"Do you know where he's going?" Yasmine hastily asked an important question as the answer would decide whether or not she could look for her savior after this. Of course, she was anxious about it.

"Well..."Chapter

." Collin answered hesitantly, "You should ask Boyd that yourself. He'll answer you." Yasmine choked up a little. She stared at Collin longingly and said, "I asked you because I knew Mr. Boyd wouldn't tell me. Pretty please! I want to know where he's going so I can contact him. I swear I won't mess with his private life."

Yasmine clasped her fingers together, eyes wide with pleas. "Come on, Collin. You have to help me."

Collin detected a hint of humility in her voice, thinking, 'Jeez, Yasmine's a big celebrity at Yale. I can't believe she's lowering herself like this for Bonnie. Still, I can't answer that. I can only marvel at just how charismatic Bonnie is.'

Although he felt awful about it, he could not answer Yasmine's question. He shrugged and said helplessly, "Do you think I can answer that for Boyd? If he answers you honestly, it's because he has thought it through and accepted the consequences.

"However, if he doesn't answer, that means he doesn't want you to know where he's going after all this." Collin scratched his head and stopped looking at the pitiful-looking Yasmine.

Chapter 1364

Yasmine sniffled and said, "Since you can't tell me,

I'll drop it. I won't pressure you anymore."

Collin patted his chest and sighed in relief, saying, "Oh, you're done? Perfect!"

Then, he thought he might have shown too much of a reaction and neglected Yasmine's feelings. Immediately after, he calmly added, "It's not like I don't want to tell you. Still, that question puts me in a tight spot."

"It's okay." Yasmine forced a smile. "I'll ask Mr. Boyd once he finishes his discussion with my boss."Chapter

Yasmine knew "Bonnie" might not answer honestly but still wanted to try. After all, there was still a chance Bonnie would tell Yasmine where she lived. The latter held out hope instead of giving up because she did not want to lose contact with Bonnie in the future.

Although Bonnie looked warm and helpful, she had been rejecting Yasmine and treated the latter with disinterest. If Yasmine did not shoot her shot, they might not remain friends once Bonnie returned home. 'If I want to see Boyd again, I must fight for it, no matter how slim my chances are.'

Collin noticed Yasmine's gloomy expression. He awkwardly scratched his head and said, "Hey, uh, I have something to do. Please excuse me."

As he left, Floyd looked at Yasmine and wanted to comfort her. However, he did not know where to start. Ultimately, he said nothing and copied Collin's technique, saying, "I-I also have something to do. I'll come back later."

Of course, Yasmine saw through the duo's lousy act. She would have made fun of them under normal circumstances, but she was not in the mood for that now. She only cared about whether or not "Bonnie" would reveal where she lived.

'I wonder if Boyd will let me visit his place for a chat. Will he let me share something interesting with him and more? It'll be fine if he agrees, but what if he doesn't want that? I guess can only hope he agrees,'

"Bonnie" compared her contract with the one the Dark Knights had to confirm she only had to lend them the chip for two weeks. After giving it to Ivor, she said, "We agreed on two weeks. I hope you honor your end and return it to my organization after that."

Ivor raised a brow, asking, "You're just going to give it to me without negotiating terms?"

"Yeah, we've signed contracts, after all. What's there to negotiate?"

Chapter 1365

Bonnie sounded calm as she spoke, "All that matters is that you return my chip after two weeks, as stipulated in the contract. I'll be grateful if you can do that."

She was implying that Ivor would go back on his word. At that moment, he could not decide whether to laugh or cry. He said, "You're honoring our agreement, and I'll do the same. You can expect me to return it as agreed."

Bonnie remained unimpressed, saying, "I sure hope so. Otherwise, I'll have to search for you guys and repeat our contract's contents to you again. That'll be a massive waste of my time."

Although she sounded firm, Ivor could sense a pang of sorrow and melancholy in her voice. He recalled what happened at the warehouse and how she witnessed Falcon's suicide. Ivor could not help but comfort her, "Falcon might've betrayed you, but I know you didn't want him to die.

"You're pretty sentimental, Mr. Boyd. That said, Falcon would have felt tortured if he kept living. How things ended was the best outcome for him."

Bonnie instinctively stared at Ivor wordlessly. The latter felt a little uneasy and began to feel around his face, asking in puzzlement, "Why are you looking at me like that? Is there something on my face?"

Bonnie shook her head. "Not at all. I just think you're pretty bad at comforting people."

Ivor was speechless. After some thought, he said, "I apologize. I don't soothe others that often. I'm a little rusty."

Bonnie giggled. "I didn't expect you to be so honest. You might not be good at comforting others, but I feel soothed. Thanks."

Ivor helplessly rubbed his chin, saying, "I don't know if that was a compliment, or if you were teasing me. Either way, what matters is that you feel better, I hope."

Initially, he always considered "Bonnie" as nothing more than a collaborator. The way he saw it, they would not continue to keep in touch once the whole chip fiasco ended. However, Ivor got to know " Bonnie" on a deeper level and discovered something about her.

'Not only is Boyd capable, but he's also an incredible person. As far as I'm concerned, I can consider him a friend now. It's only right to comfort my friend when he's down, right?'

"I appreciate it, Mr. Vic." Bonnie thanked him again and felt a little relaxed. Then, she showed him the chip again and asked, "Do you still want to borrow it? If not, I'll take it back with me."

"Of course, I want it." Ivor took the chip smilingly and made her a promise, "Don't worry about it. Since you lent us the chip, I'll keep it safe and return it to you."

"I most certainly want it." Ivor smiled and took the chip from her. At the same time, he made her a promise.

Bonnie replied, "Sure, as long as you keep your promise. There's no need to say more."

"Understood." Ivor put the chip into his suit pocket. "My organization and I have the better end of the deal this time. You were the ones who did all the heavy lifting, too. We merely supported your organization.Chapter

"Now that you're lending me the chip without hassle, I feel like I should do something in return. I'll do you a favor, and you can ask for it anytime. I'll do everything in my power to repay your generosity—if it's within reason, of course."

Bonnie raised her brow, asking, "Are you sure you want to promise me that? Aren't you worried I might ask for something outrageous?"

Ivor said confidently, "Considering your character, I believe you're above that."

Chapter 1366

Bonnie was stunned but then giggled and said, "Sure, I'll take a rain check on that favor. I'll contact you if I need it."

"You got it," Ivor responded smilingly. He had to admit working with the Nidhoggs was pleasant. That was mostly because "Bonnie" was forthright and delivered her promises immediately. She honored their contract, too.

Ivor enjoyed working with such people and hoped they could work together again next time.

"Since we're done talking, let's get out of the car. The views here are splendid. We'll feel much better strolling around." Bonnie wanted to clear her mind, but since "Ivor" was there, she figured she should invite him for a walk.

Either way, Ivor was not the talkative type, so his presence did not bother her much.

"Sure, Mr. Boyd." It seemed Ivor had seen through her. He opened the car door first and got out, saying, "I was thinking the same thing."

"Perfect," Bonnie responded faintly before exiting the car.

Once outside, they strolled ahead side by side. Meanwhile, Yasmine, who had been waiting for them to finish talking, saw them getting out of the car. She intended to approach "Bonnie" immediately but saw them walking together.

'I don't know if it's just me, but they complement each other. Looking at them together seems surprisingly harmonious. It's strange to think about it that way, but I felt it.'

Ultimately, Yasmine brushed it off as her imagining things. After all, Ivor and Bonnie commanded respect wherever they went. Yasmine also knew "Bonnie" and "Ivor" were married. She figured they could not be dating, especially since they were "men."

The thought of "Bonnie" being married made Yasmine feel sorrowful. The latter thought it was a shame she did not meet "Bonnie" earlier.

'I wonder ift could've been with Boyd

eli

if I had met him before his wife did. Still, I can't leave a meaningful impression on him now. Worse, I might not see him again.'

The more Yasmine thought about it, the sadder she felt. Then, she sighed heavily and frowned.

Later, Ivor, Floyd, and Yasmine got

into the same car. Typically, Yasmine would be lively and noisy However, she was quiet and brooding this time. All she did was rest her chin on her hand and look out the window. Chapter

Ivor's brows furrowed when he looked at her. He turned to Floyd and asked, “What's up with her?"

Floyd glanced at Yasmine and then whispered to Ivor, "She's worried she'll never see Mr. Boyd again once he returns home. She feels awful about it.”

He glanced at Yasmine again and added, "I've known her a long time, but I've never seen her like that. It seems she's genuinely in love this time." Ivor frowned and disagreed with Yasmine's actions.

Floyd continued, "I thought I told her Boyd is married. There's a big chance others will misunderstand Yasmine if she keeps this up."

Floyd sighed. "I only hope Yasmine can get her mind straight once Mr. Boyd leaves. I can't get used to seeing her like that."

Chapter 1367

Typically, Yasmine was the liveliest member of the organization. Everyone could depend on her to bring joy whenever she was around. Now that she was unhappy, Floyd felt uneasy and knew the other members would feel the same, too.

Floyd thought, 'I'm sure the others will feel sad when they see her like this.'

"Jeez..." Ivor shook his head, not knowing what to say.

'It's true. We can't stop ourselves from falling in love. I was just like this when I met Bonnie. Before I knew it, I was already deeply in love with her. I also knew to keep my head together, but I couldn't control my heart.'

Ivor fell deeper in love whenever Bonnie showed sadness or joy. Eventually, he decided to let go and let his heart have what it wanted. Simultaneously, he was glad to stop suppressing his emotions. Otherwise, he would not have the happiness he had with Bonnie now.

Even so, Yasmine's situation far differed from Ivor's. After all, he and Bonnie loved each other while "Boyd" had no feelings for Yasmine. Moreover, "he was a married man."

'Things will end terribly if Yasmine forces herself into Boyd's marriage. I should do my best to stop her from making that mistake. Everything will return to how it should be once Boyd goes home.'

Although Yasmine seemed to be daydreaming, she heard the two men talking. Even so, she did not know what they were talking about. She also figured she would become more depressed if she kept thinking about Boyd.Chapter

'I should chat with Boss. That'll help me feel better.'

With that in mind, Yasmine turned to Ivor and asked, "What are you two talking about?"

Ivor glanced at her and responded calmly, "Nothing much. Just shooting the breeze."

"Really?" Evidently, she did not

believe him. She had a hunch that Ivor and Floyd were gossiping about her but did not want to tell her about it

"Mhm," Ivor responded briefly.

Yasmine thought, 'Way to go, t

You ended the conversation so quickly. It was a mistake trying to chat with him, after all. I should continue daydreaming.'

Ivor stared at her coldly. "Why are you asking me such questions?"

Yasmine avoided his gaze and stammered, "I-I wasn't doing anything."

"I know what you're trying to do, Yasmine." Ivor frowned. "You know Boyd is a married man, so get rid of those wrongful feelings."

Chapter 1368

Yasmine already felt downhearted because Boyd would return home soon. Now that Ivor spoke to her harshly, she felt sorry for herself.

"I wish I could stop these feelings, but I just can't control them! It feels like someone punched him in the gut when I think about him leaving and that I might never see him again." Yasmine began to tear up as she looked at Ivor helplessly.

She added, "You keep telling me to suppress my feelings, but let's say you fell in love with your wife at first sight. Then, you find out she's married. Would you give up on her, or would you keep trying to win her heart?"

Ivor was stunned. After all, Yasmine asked an excellent question.

'I don't even have to think about it. I already know my answer. I wouldn't care if Bonnie was married or not. I'd still try to win her over, no matter what. That said, Yasmine's situation is different from mine.'

Ivor was in the middle of his thoughts when he heard Yasmine's voice, "I know you won't give up trying. You wouldn't stop until she's yours, right?" Ivor did not deny it. On the contrary, he admitted, "You're right. I wouldn't give up trying."

Then, he squinted and continued, "However, if I managed to win her heart, that means she was unhappy with her marriage. If she's willing to be with me, I wouldn't mind her being a divorcee. On the contrary, I'd love her even more.

"That said, I won't force it if I can't win her heart. I'd just wish her happiness and keep my distance from her."

It was just a simple hypothesis, a harmless imagination. Even so, the thought of Bonnie being married to someone else felt like someone had stabbed Ivor's heart. At that

e

moment, he realized how grateful he

was to be married to her.

Yasmine clenched her fists and said firmly, "Well, I'm the same way with Boyd! I don't want to let him go!"

Ivor felt a headache coming on. He massaged his temples in thought before saying solemnly, "Boyd has rejected you several times now. That should tell you what you need to know. He saved you out of kindness. Have you considered that? What if you keep bugging him, and he starts hating you?"

Yasmine understood her boss's meaning, but she could not control herself This will be the last time I bug him. It doesn't matter if he ends up disliking me. After all, we won't see each other anymore."

She dared not say the next part aloud, so she muttered, “That's why I must be courageous this time and get closure.”

Ivor did not hear the last part. He frowned and asked, "What was that?"

Yasmine feared he would see through her and felt a pang of panic. She then shook her head and said, “I-It's nothing.”

Ivor instinctively reminded her, "I've told you not to do anything stupid countless times, Yasmine."

“Okay, I understand." Although she seemed obedient, she did not mean what she said. She had a plan and would not tell her boss about it.

'It's between me and Boyd. I must decide what to do myself. If I tell the boss what I'm about to do, he'll only try to stop me.'Chapter

Chapter 1369

Yasmine thought, 'I must do everything possible to keep my plan a secret.'

Ivor knew she was not the type to stay put, so he reminded her, "You promised me. Otherwise, I'll lock you up at headquarters for six months and cut you off from the outside world. You'll remain in your cell and can't go anywhere else.”

That was the harshest form of punishment for someone as cheerful as Yasmine. However, Ivor did not do it just to punish her. Instead, he was trying to keep her from acting recklessly.

Meanwhile, Yasmine feared Ivor seeing through her. She nodded and agreed, "All right, I hear you. I promise not to do anything rash."

Ivor nodded reluctantly. "Mhm."

Then, Yasmine continued to look out the window and feel the wind on her face, thinking, 'What I can do to give Boyd an unforgettable memory before he leaves? It's the last time I'll be brave for myself and disobey my boss.'

Yasmine knew she would not feel better if she did not do anything before Boyd returned home. She wanted to take action and did not want to have any regrets.

Collin told Bonnie all about Yasmine, "Chief, how are you so charismatic? You even made Yasmine fall head over heels for you. It looks like she won't quit until she wins you over."

Bonnie glanced sidelong at him and asked, "Do you think that's appropriate?"

Collin scratched his head and

considered what he said. Once he was sure he had said nothing wrong, he responded, "I don't think it is, Chief On the contrary, it's pretty fitting."

Bonnie rolled her eyes and said, "Did you forget I'm a woman?!"

"Yeah, you are, but Yasmine doesn't know. You can't tell me she isn't in love with you." Collin thought his words were tame and not overdramatic.

Then, he thought of something and added, "That reminds me, she even asked me where you're going next. I didn't tell her and instead told her to ask you herself. Did she ask you anything?" Chapter

The more Bonnie thought about it, the more she figured she was right. "Did you also tell her I'm flying back to Pyralis?"

Chapter 1370

Collin hurriedly waved when he saw Bonnie's doubtful gaze. He explained, "I-I said nothing like that, Chief! I know Pyralis is a key factor in keeping your real identity hidden. I'm not foolish enough to tell Yasmine something like that."

"Then, what happened?" Bonnie squinted, looking imposing.Chapter

Although Collin did not expose her secret, he still felt intimidated. "V-Vic told Yasmine about it."

Bonnie recalled what she had told Ivor. "I just mentioned it to him when we were chatting. I didn't think he'd be so nosy and tell Yasmine."

"Vic is Yasmine's boss, after all. He noticed how obsessed she was with you. Of course, he'd let some information slip." Collin thought that was an expected outcome.

Bonnie helplessly sighed and said, "Forget about it. There's nothing I can do now that he told her about it. Either way, I'll be leaving in two days. Whatever he told Yasmine won't affect my trip home."

Collin asked curiously, "How will you deal with Yasmine?"

Since Yasmine was unusually obsessed with Bonnie, the former might not give up if Bonnie failed to handle the situation appropriately.

Bonnie looked at Collin in puzzlement, "How will I deal with her? I never considered that."

Collin told Bonnie about his concern, "Why? Considering how she acted, she might chase you to Pyralis if you leave without talking to her."

Bonnie frowned. She would have

thought that would be ridiculous if it were anyone else. However, she knew Yasmine was crazy enough to do something like that. The former knew Yasmine had always been unpredictable, too. Moreover, Ivor could barely control her.

"Yasmine will look for me once I return to the hotel. She'll then ask me where I live, and that's when I'll level with her." Bonnie felt a headache as she spoke, evidently distressed about Yasmine.

Collin nodded in agreement, saying, "I think that's an excellent idea, Chief."

Bonnie felt helpless. "It would be great if she weren't so obsessed with me. Then, I wouldn't have to worry so much."

'Is that what a troublesome admirer

looks like? wish I could tell Yasmine

ovel

I'm a woman. Then, I won't have to do much, and she'll give up on her own. can't do that because everyone knows the Nidhoggs' leader is a man.'

Bonnie had too many things to consider and would not make such a desperate move unless she had to.

Collin shrugged and added, "It'd be great if I were as charismatic as you, Chief. That way, I won't have to worry about staying single for the rest of my life."

Although he thought Bonnie sounded like she was boasting, Collin knew she felt genuinely troubled with Yasmine. After all, Yasmine was not the only person trying to win Bonnie's heart.

Bonnie had used too much effort to keep Yale a secret from Ivor. It would all be for naught if he found out because she failed to handle Yasmine properly.

"I agree, Chief. If you don't deal with her well, she might do something drastic. You know how she is. She's no stranger to crazy stunts."
