CHAPTER 311

Bonnie looked at the pale Trina standing at the door. The former then turned to Hadwin and giggled, saying, “You wouldn’t have cheated on me with Trina if I told you. That way, you could’ve bragged about marrying the miracle doctor. That’s how it works, right?”

Hadwin was stunned because Bonnie’s assumption was right. She had seen through him

and revealed his true intentions to everyone.

Meanwhile, Trina gripped her dress as she gritted her teeth.

Demetria stepped forward and revealed a loving smile at Bonnie. The former said, “It was all a big misunderstanding. He called off the engagement because we thought you were al good–for– nothing. The fact is that you and Hadwin are a match made in heaven.

“Also, you were engaged to Hadwin first. Trina is nothing more than an accident. I’ll tell my son to announce that he’s canceling his engagement with Trina. Then, we’ll pick another date for your engagement party with Hadwin.”

“Another engagement party?” Bonnie said sarcastically.

“If you think it’s redundant, we’ll arrange a wedding ceremony instead.” Demetria knew

Bonnie and her son should get married immediately.

Once they revealed Bonnie’s true identity, plenty of contenders would ask for her hand in marriage. The Rhodes would have no chance to get her then. Demetria wanted to seal the

deal as soon as possible.

She continued, “Perhaps we could do it next Saturday. Although it seems rushed, we’ll reserve the most upscale hotel and get you a hand–tailored wedding dress. You won’t have

to worry about a thing.”

Trina was furious, her eyes red as she looked at her parents.

Vera was just as mad, saying, “How can you do this, Demetria?! Trina and Hadwin are engaged, and my daughter gave him her virginity. Y–You-”

Demetria said blankly, “Don’t blame me. I wouldn’t have discovered Bonnie’s real identity if

I hadn’t come here today. Put yourself in my shoes, Vera. Would you have chosen Bonnie

or Trina as your daughter–in–law? I’m sure anyone would choose Bonnie.”

Vera countered, “You say that, but we disowned Bonnie much earlier. She has nothing to do with my family. Hadwin was the one who proposed to Trina. Also, Bonnie isn’t my

blological daughter, Trina is.”

She’s right, Gresham took his wife’s side, adding, “Bonnie is no longer one of us. That means her engagement with Hadwin was irrelevant.”

After some thought, Demetria said, “You have a point.

Trina and her parents sighed in relief. However, they did not expect Demetria to approach

Bonnie and say, “Now that you’re no longer a member of their family, I don’t have to ask for their permission or opinions. Instead, I’ll just ask you. How about marrying Hadwin next Saturday?”

Vera said hastily, “What do you mean by that, Demetria?”

Demetria casually glanced at her and said, “You guys clarified that seconds ago. You’re no longer related to Bonnie, meaning she gets to make her own decisions. She can decide- who to marry. Of course, I’ll ask her about it.”

“Listen-” Vera choked on her words while her husband turned red with rage.

Suddenly, Bonnie walked toward the door, almost leaving.

Demetria noticed it and chased after her. “Where do you think you’re going, Bonnie?! I need

your answer.”

However, Bonnie ignored her and continued walking despite how hysterical Demetria

seemed.

“Bonnie!” Demetria yelled again, but it was useless. She knew Bonnie would not stop, so she had to race after her. Ultimately, she managed to stand in Bonnie’s way. “I’m talking to you, young lady. What’s the hurry?”

Bonnie grinned and said sarcastically, “Who the hell do you think you are? What made your think you could boss me around? I don’t have to marry your son just because you said so. Do everyone a favor and tighten that loose screw in your head.”

CHAPTER 312

Although Demetria was upset, she suppressed her anger because of Bonnie’s identity as the miracle doctor. The former forced a smile and said, “I know you’re unhappy with how we treated you in the past. I’m also aware of your temper.

“Even so, the universe must’ve brought you and my son together for a reason. It’d be a shame to miss out on a match made in heaven. We knew nothing about your identity before today. Ugh, I’m getting nowhere with this. How about I apologize to you, and we’ll

start over?”

“Hmph,” Bonnie smirked.

Demetria glanced at her son. “Um, how about Hadwin apologize to you as well?”

Hadwin knew what his mother was trying to do and walked over. “I’m sorry, Bonnie. I didn’t know any better. I thought you were a good–for–nothing when you were the world–renowned

miracle doctor instead.

“I swear to shower you with nothing but love and respect once we’re married. I’ll make up for my past mistakes. It’s a promise-

Bonnie left before he could finish.

‘Damn it!‘ Hadwin cursed internally. He gritted his teeth and chased after her to bug her.

However, Bonnie made a phone call, “Hello, is this the police department? I have a stalker

who won’t leave me alone.”

Hadwin heard her words and froze, asking, “Are you serious, Bonnie?!”

“Mhm, I’ll give you my location right away.”

“Bonnie!” Hadwin roared.

“Do

you hear how loud and scary he is? Although I’m talking to you fine officers, it doesn’t deter him. Bring as many officers as you can. You must put him behind bars, officer.”

Hadwin was about to explode. Ultimately, he could do nothing but watch as Bonnie left. Suddenly, a dozen police cars showed up and surrounded him. Not only that, the officers

were from a SWAT team.

“Are you the thug who has been harassing a young lady earlier?”

Hadwin froze.

Firstly, it’s a misunderstanding. Secondly, do they need such a big team even if I did harass a young lady?! If I didn’t know any better, I would’ve thought I harassed some royalty or something.”

a

“Th that’s not true, officer! It’s just understanding. Bonnie and I know each other.

She’s just-

The SWAT team’s expressions turned grave when they heard Bonnie’s name. The chief exclaimed, “How dare you! Take him away, men!”

Two officers grabbed Hadwin from both sides and dragged him to the police car. Demetria was shocked but quickly regained her senses and explained, “Officer, you must’ve misunderstood something! My son didn’t harass Bonnie, I swear!”

“We’ll get to the bottom of it soon enough, ma’am. Please don’t get in our way.”

Demetria could just cry as she hastily pulled out her phone and called her husband, “Draco, the police arrested Hadwin!”

Draco’s brows furrowed. “What happened?”

“It’s all Bonnie’s fault!” Demetria told her husband everything that had just happened. Simultaneously, Jim called Bonnie.

CHAPTER 313

Before Jim could say anything, Bonnie asked, “Did you ask a SWAT team to arrest Hadwin?

“He had it coming.”

She helplessly shook her head. As expected, she had only called the police department and wondered why they sent a SWAT team instead. It looked like they came to arrest an International fugitive instead of just Hadwin.

Meanwhile, Demetria ran to Bonnie and scolded, “You bitch! Hadwin was just trying to win you over. How dare you call the cops on him. I finally know why your family refused to let you rejoin them even if you are the miracle doctor.

“You’re such a vicious woman who brings disaster wherever she goes. You made a false report against my son!”

Bonnie sneered at Demetria as if the latter was the biggest moron she had ever met, saying, “I knew you had a screw loose. The cops didn’t just arrest your son because he harassed me. No SWAT team has ever arrested anyone for something so small.

“What are you talking about?”

“Jeez, your stupidity astounds me, Demetria. I thought it was obvious. A SWAT team just arrested your son, not just the cops. It isn’t about me. Your son must’ve broken the law in a

far more sinister way.

“Maybe he blew up an airport and murdered several victims. I don’t know what he did, but it must be horrible. He’s probably a lost cause by now.”

“I–I can’t believe you called my son a lost cause. How dare you make such a claim?!” Demetria roared. She was mindful that Bonnie might call the cops on her, too. Otherwise, she would have pounced on the young lady.

Bonnie smirked, saying, “Because I saw a SWAT team take him away, that’s why. Fine, let’s give Hadwin the benefit of the doubt. Why do you think the cops sent a SWAT team?”

“Well, I…” Demetria was so angry that she could barely respond.

“Hmph,” Bonnie scoffed and ignored the older lady before turning to leave.

Meanwhile, Trina sighed in relief when she saw Bonnie leave. After all, the Rhodes could

no longer call off her engagement with Hadwin.

Bonnie reached the Days‘ house around four in the afternoon. Her cab had just pulled over When she saw Ivor’s Maybach approaching the entrance. He said, “What a coincidence.

Yeah.” Their conversation sounded a little uneasy and forced.

The Day family is waiting for us inside. Let’s go, Doc.”

“Sure.”

The Days huddled around Bonnie when she entered the living room, welcoming her to their place. The guy in the lead sported dashing features.

Ivor said, “He’s the friend I mentioned before. Meet Sebastian Day.”

“Hello there,” Bonnie greeted him politely.

On the other hand, Sebastian was quite surprised to see her. “I–Is he the miracle doctor?”

“Mhm, he’s Dr. Fanelli,” Ivor responded.

“He’s so young, though! What a pleasant surprise. If I may, Doc, how old are you?” Sebastian could not help but ask.

“I’m twenty,” She answered truthfully.

Not only was Sebastian stunned, but Ivor was also dumbfounded.

‘I asked Dr. Fanelli about his private life, but I never considered asking his age. Hmmm, perhaps he just looks young. I’m sure he’s much older than twenty. After all, everyone needs time to accumulate their experience in the medical field.”

“It’s incredible that you possess extraordinary medical knowledge at such a young age! I can see why they call you the miracle doctor!” Sebastian was not shy about showering the doctor with high praise.

At that moment, a young lady approached and looked at Bonnie sparklingly. The former asked, “Why didn’t you introduce him to me too, Ivor?”

CHAPTER 314

tvor saw the young lady looking at him with puppy–dog eyes, knowing what was on her mind. He said, “Doctor, meet Jordynn Day. She’s Sebastian’s younger sister.”

“Oh, hello.” Bonnie extended her hand.

Jordynn blushed and shook the doctor’s hand, stammering, “G–Greetings, Doctor Fanelli.”

Ivor and Sebastian exchanged glances, both knowing Jordynn’s intentions. They thought it would be beneficial if the doctor and Jordynn got together.

Sebastian looked at Bonnie and said, “My grandpa’s in this room, Dr. Fanelli. He’s not feeling too well and can’t come downstairs to welcome you. I’ll have to trouble you to go, upstairs to check on him.”

“That’s okay. I’ll just head upstairs.” Bonnie climbed the stairs and entered the room.

Jordynn ran to the side of the bed and took her brother’s arms. She would occasionally steal glances at Bonnie and blush. The former said, “Grandpa, this is Dr. Fanelli. He’s the

miracle doctor we told you about.”

Gibson was older and more experienced than everyone in the room. It did not take him long to notice his granddaughter’s fondness for the doctor.

He glanced at the doctor and thought he was good–looking and sophisticated. Indeed, the older man thought the doctor was more handsome than an actor. No wonder the usually picky Jordynn had a crush on “Bonnie.”

“You look young and accomplished, Dr. Fanelli.”

“You’re too kind, Mr. Gibson,” Bonnie responded lightly. She then went to the side of the

bed to check his pulse.

The older man’s fondness for Bonnie grew. After all, she took compliments without letting her ego inflate. Moreover, she looked unfazed by his praise.

‘That’s the mark of an incredible man in the making. It’d be wonderful if Dr. Fanelli ends up

marrying my granddaughter.”

“Your condition isn’t too severe, Mr. Gibson. You’ve just been overworking and neglecting your health for too long. Mr. Ivor said your symptoms have worsened. Did you take anything to reinvigorate yourself, such as ginseng or ganoderma?” Bonnie guessed.

Jordyng gave her a thumbs–up and said, “You’re good at this! You took less than a minute to figure that out!”

Bonnie noticed something unnerving about the way Jordynn looked at her. Nonetheless the former said, “As I said, you’ve neglected your health for too long, Mr. Gibson. Your body can’t take something too strong, even if the supplement was meant to reinvigorate you.” Jordynn’s eyes sparkled whenever she looked at Bonnie. The former was oblivious that she was edging closer to the doctor, asking, “What do we do? Is there a way to cure Grandpa?” “There’s a cure, but your grandpa will have-” Before she could finish, Jordynn grabbed Bonnie’s hands and said gleefully, “Really?! That’s all that matters, Dr. Fanelli. I’ll do anything you say!”

Bonnie looked at Jordynn’s hands and then at her reddened face.

‘Uh, countless men have confessed their love to me. I’m numb to it now, but this is the first time a girl has fallen in love with me.”

Bonnie withdrew her hands and said, “I don’t have any special terms. You just have to pay for the treatment, as usual.”

Jordynn was disappointed when she heard that.

“Don’t worry, Dr. Fanelli. We’ll pay you for the treatment.” Sebastian pulled his sister aside. and whispered, “Pull yourself together, Jordynn. You’re scaring the doctor.”

Jordynn retorted, “Dr. Fanelli’s not as timid as you think. Also, we’re all adults here. What’s there to be worried about?”

Sebastian palmed his forehead, not knowing how to respond.

Then, Gibson looked at Bonnie and asked, “Do you have a girlfriend, Dr. Fanelli?”

CHAPTER 315

At that moment, everyone gazed at Gibson and Bonnie.

Thump, thump! Thump, thump!

Jordynn’s heart pounded while she held her chest.

Bonnie knew what the older man meant by asking such a question, but she answered truthfully, “Not at the moment, Mr. Gibson.”

“That’s wonderful!” Gibson laughed heartily and pulled Jordynn over. “My granddaughter’s single, too. How about I set you two up?”

Bonnie’s eye twitched, knowing this would happen. Meanwhile, Jordynn was so

embarrassed that she did not know what to do.

The room fell silent before Ivor said, “Sebastian’s sister is certainly eye–catching, Doc. Also, she’s the same age as you. She’s never had a boyfriend in her life. Still, don’t get me wrong. It’s not for the lack of choices.

“Instead, Jordynn is extremely picky about men. I think you two would be good together. Perhaps you should give it a shot?”

Bonnie looked at Ivor inexplicably, while the latter had a strange feeling in his gut. However, he did not know what it was.

Everyone held their breaths, waiting for the doctor’s answer. Finally, she said, “I’m sorry, but my mom wants me to focus on my studies and forbids me from getting into at

relationship.”

Jordynn gasped, asking, “You’re still studying?!”

“Is that surprising? After all, I’m only twenty. It makes sense that I’m still studying

shrugged.

Bonnie

Everyone returned to their senses when they heard that. Perhaps they saw Bonnie as noble

and graceful because she was a miracle doctor. That was why it never occurred to them

that a miracle doctor also had to attend college.

“Where do you study, Doc? You’re probably in college now, right?” Ivor asked.

“Pyralis University,” Bonnie answered.

What are the odds? Bonnie studies there, too.

What a coincidence! I’m studying at the same University. Which year are you in? If you’re twenty, you should be in your junior year, like mel Why haven’t I seen you before?” Jordynn knew there was no one named Fanelli in her university.

Otherwise, the doctor would be the most handsome man on campus.

“Um… Bonnie never expected Jordynn to be studying at the same university. “I’m a

freshman.”

“Freshman? How’s that possible with your age?”

Gibson lectured Jordynn before she could say anything else, “Mind your words, Jordynn.” How can you compare yourself with Dr. Fanelli? He works and studies at the same time. He’s also the miracle doctor for crying out loud.

“He’s incredible for holding down a place in the university while doing all that. How can you mock him for being a freshman

“I–I wasn’t mocking him, Grandpa! I–I was just curious,” Jordynn explained. She feared Bonnie would misunderstand her and turned to clarify, “Please don’t misunderstand, Dr.

Fanelli! I didn’t mean anything by it.

“I–I was just curious, that’s all.” She was even more nervous now. After all, she could have. pissed Bonnie off and caused her to leave.

However, with a light smile, Bonnie said, “Don’t worry about it.”

Jordynn sighed, saying, “That’s a relief. I was worried you’d get mad and start ignoring me.”

Sebastian said despite himself, “Jeez, you’ve always been fearless and unruly. Are you seriously freaking out because you said something out of line, or are you just being submissive because you found your prince charming?”

CHAPTER 316

Stop your nonsense, Sebastian! Don’t make me give you the silent treatment.” Jordynn

blushed.

“Um, what’s your full name, Dr. Fanelli?”

Bonnie tweaked her first name a little, saying, “Fanelli Bonaldi.”

“Bonaldi?” Ivor asked.

Her lips twitched a little. After a couple of seconds, she said, “Yeah. Bonaldi.”

Ivor resumed his poker face when he heard that.

Sebastian mocked him, “Ged told me how obsessed you are over Bonnie. Now, I know he wasn’t exaggerating. Dr. Fanelli’s last name sounds slightly like hers, yet you’re already

bent out of shape.”

Jordynn knew a thing or two about Bonnie too. The former asked, “Do you love this Bonnie person that much, Ivor? Halle and Rowena told me she did some unspeakable things to

you. That must be how she ensnared you. She’s bad news.

“Also, her family disowned her. She’s a good–for–nothing, but I’ll let it slide. What matters

most is her character. She’s a meanie and a compulsive liar. She has no respect for her

parents and always picks on her sister. Even her ex–fiance couldn’t stand her and called off their engagement.”

When Jordynn finished speaking, she felt a menacing glare burning a hole in her. She raised her gaze and saw Ivor gazing at her coldly. He said, “Never believe hearsay, Jordynn. You’ve never met her, let alone know her. How can you be an expert on her character?”

Sebastian knew Ivor was furious. The former lectured his sister, “I told you to mind your mouth, Jordynn. As he said, you don’t have the right to say such things about Bonnie before meeting and getting to know her.”

Jordynn felt slightly aggrieved.

‘Who the heck is this Bonnie person? Her character has nothing to do with me. I was just looking out for Ivor. Sheesh, I’m doing this out of the kindness of my heart, but all I got was trouble and lectures.

Finel Since they claim I can’t talk about her because I haven’t met her, I’ll look her up on Campus tomorrow and see just how rude and despicable she is for myself.

The following day, Bonnie went to one of the lecture halls on campus. Suddenly, one of her fellow college students yelled, “Bonnie, a junior student is looking for you!”

Bonnie glanced at the door, wondering, ‘A junior student? Is it Trina?‘

She was stunned when she saw it was Jordynn.

‘What is she doing here, and what does she want with me? Did she find out I’m the miracle

doctor?”

Immediately after, Bonnie decided that was not the case.

‘That’s probably not it. Dr. Fanelli is the miracle doctor whose reputation reaches all of Pyralis and even Arvandor. On the other hand, I’m just an ordinary girl that her family has

disowned. No one would think we’re the same person.‘

Jordynn was shocked when she saw Bonnie’s face, which resembled Fanelli’s quite a bit. Jordynn approached and asked, “Are you Bonnie?”

“In the flesh.”

Jordynn revealed a cheque and said, “Here’s a three million dollar cheque. It’s yours if you

agree to leave Ivor alone.”

CHAPTER 317

Bonnie raised her brows, saying, “No thanks. Last week, I visited the Antique Jade

Appreciation Conference in Jocrovania and appraised a couple of ice jadeites with floating flower patterns. They’re worth tens of millions.”

“What? That’s such a lousy bluff.” Jordynn did not believe Bonnie at all.

The latter lazily responded, “Feel free to send your men to Jocrovania to investigate. Hey, you can even ask people in the antique gemstone circle. They’ll tell you the truth.”

Jordynn glared at her but could not find even a hint of a lie. She criticized, “Hmph, what’s so special about that? You were just lucky!”

Bonnie added, “After that, I browned an antique show and spent a grand purchasing a bowl

made in Emperor Gearold Walshington’s Primordial Kiln.”

Jordynn’s jaw dropped, not knowing how to respond for a moment.

Suddenly, Bonnie laughed and said, “Bingo! You’re right that I got lucky. So, I don’t need

your money.”

Jordynn lowered her head and looked at the cheque she held, saying, “You got rich

overnight, and that’s nothing worth boasting about. It’s just tens of millions of dollars. That

means nothing to truly wealthy people like me.”

Bonnie feigned surprise. “Oh, you don’t think tens of millions is worth much?”

“Of course not!” Jording raised her head high.

“Wow. Since that’s the case, I don’t want three million dollars. Instead, give me thirty billion, and I’ll promise to leave Ivor alone,” Bonnie said matter–of–factly.

Jordyn was so furious that she could breathe fire. “Thirty billion?! We’re not talking about Monopoly money, you know. Do you have that much money yourself? You must have a screw loose.”

Bonnie nodded solemnly. “It’s just thirty billion dollars. It means nothing to wealthy people like me.”

Jordynn knew Bonnie was using her own words against her. “Fine, let’s talk nice. What do I have to do to get you away from Ivor?”

Bonnie texted Ivor immediately, asking, “What do I have to do–to get you away from me?”

He repiled almost instantaneously, “Over my dead body.”

Then, Bonnie showed his reply to Jordynn and groaned, “You see. Not even I can do anything to get away from Ivor.”

The school bell rang at that moment, signifying the start of classes.

Classes are starting. You should probably return to your lecture hall,” Bonnie told Jordynn. However, she did not speak in an overly harsh and sarcastic tone. She felt Jordynn differed

from Halle and Rowena.

After all, Jordynn genuinely cared about Ivor and thought Bonnie would harm him. That

was why the former used unconventional means to get Bonnie away from Ivor.

Jordynn said through gritted teeth, “Damn you, Bonnie. I’ll figure out a way to get you to leave Ivor alone. I never quit, either. When I put my mind to something, I’ll finish it. I’ll keep

trying.”

Bonnie thought, ‘What a headache. Dealing with her will be tricky.”

Bonnie had a physical education class in the afternoon. So, Jordynn stole into Bonnie’s lecture hall and ruffled through her bag and seat. She wanted to find something to prove. Bonnie was after Ivor’s wealth.

However, Jordynn found nothing but snacks in Bonnie’s seat. It looked like the former had to go through Bonnie’s bag.

Zip!

Jordynn unzipped the bag and poured everything on the table, noticing a notebook and file.

‘I wonder what’s in this notebook. Is Bonnie looking at smut?”

Jordynn was stunned when she flipped through the book, muttering, “Is this a medical journal?”

‘I thought Bonnie was a computer science student. Why would she have a medical journal in her bag?”

After carefully reading the material, Jordynn realized its contents were obscure and convoluted. What surprised her most were the personal remarks and insights on every

CHAPTER 318

318

Impossible These personal remarks and Insights denote a deep knowledge of adioal held, How could someone like Bonnie write them down?”

Jordynn compared the handwriting of the remarks with the name written on the cover of the medical journal. “The handwriting matches. Did Bonnie seriously write these herself?”

Her head was full of suspicion and disbelief as she set aside the medical journal and picked up the blue file.

“Now, let’s see what this is.”

“Latest Nanomaterial Augmentation Research?” she read it aloud and then muttered,

What the heck?”

She was dazed and astounded as her hands began to tremble. She gulped and opened the file, unsure of what she would find. At that moment, she heard footsteps outside the

lecture hall.

“Shit! Someone’s coming!‘

Jordynn looked left and right, then decided to duck behind the podium. The footsteps drew closer, and someone entered the lecture hall. The person said to herself, “I think that’s

Bonnie’s seat.”

‘Huh, why does that voice sound so familiar?‘ Jordynn had a good idea who it was. She poked her head out and checked, thinking, ‘It’s Trina! What’s she doing here? She

mentioned Bonnie’s name, too.”

Jordynn

in continued to spy on Trina as the latter found a necklace in another student’s bag

and stuffed it into Bonnie’s.

Jordynn realized Trina was trying to set Bonnie up.

‘Jeez, I never thought Trina would do something like that. She always looks so innocent

and harmless. Wait a minute. I heard rumors that Bonnie loves picking on Trina. It seems I

was a fool to believe that. Those rumors are unfounded.”

Jordynn thought perhaps that was a good reason why Ivor loved Bonnie so much.

However, it was all just circumstantial evidence, and Jordynn wanted to keep monitoring.

Bonnie to find out the truth.

Once the physical education class ended, Bonnie and her classmates retumed to the lecture hall, One of the classmates, Rene, nervously ruffled through her bag, forehead covered in sweat.

Huh? Where is it? I remember keeping my necklace in my bag before PE. Where’d it go?”

Natalee, the classmate beside her, said, “Did you put it in your pocket instead?”

“No, my grandma gave it to me as a gift for getting into this university. It’s an expensive necklace, too.”

“Keep searching. Maybe you left it somewhere on you and forgot about it.”

Rene turned out all her pockets, but the necklace wasn’t there. She grew so worried that she was on the verge of tears. “Oh, man! That necklace costs nearly ten grand. My life is over if my family finds out I lost it.”

Natalee noticed the other students leaving and exclaimed, “Hey, guys! Rene misplaced her necklace. Someone in this hall must’ve stolen it. Still, I’m not accusing anyone. I’m just saying there’s a thief among us.”

Rene sobbed, “I–I’m sorry, everyone. Please stay here for a while. My necklace means the. world to me. I can’t afford to lose it.”

The class representative said, “If anyone finds a necklace on the ground, please return it to Rene immediately.”

CHAPTER 319

One of the students clicked her tongue and said, “What do you mean if we find it on the ground? Whoever stole it, just come forth and admit it.”

Soon after, she opened her bag and showed it to everyone, saying, “I’ll start. See? I didn’t

steal it.”

Bonnie did not want to waste any more time. So, she also unzipped her bag. Surprisingly, a necklace slid out when she removed her blue file. She picked up the necklace, confused.

Huh?”

“Whoa, you should be an actress! You feigned ignorance and opened your bag so soon. I’m sure your plot to pass yourself off as innocent backfired. How sickening!” Natalee could. not stand Bonnie, rolling her eyes at the latter.

Avril stood before Bonnie and said, “You don’t have to be so nasty. Who gave you the right to talk to Bonnie that way? Just because the necklace was in her bag doesn’t mean she stole it, genius. Does it make you a thief if I accidentally put my bracelet in your bag?”

Bonnie stared at Avril with a hint of humor in her eyes.

‘That’s what a true friend looks like. She’ll believe me and pit herself against anyone, no

matter what.”

“Avril, stop defending Bonnie. Still, I guess you have a point. Someone else could’ve set her up. I would believe that if the same thing happened to anyone else. Even so, we’re talking about Bonnie

here. Everyone here knows what happened between her and her

family.

“It’s safe to say that even her countryside parents disowned her. Think about it. She’s just at student and must’ve run out of money to pay for her studies. That must be why she stole Rene’s necklace,” Natalee analyzed the situation with misguided and biased thoughts.

“You think Bonnie ran out of money? This necklace is only worth ten grand. It’s nothing to brag about.” Avril waved around and then pointed at her bracelet. “Do you know how much this is worth? It’s worth ten million dollars. Bonnie purchased it at an auction.

“She’s wearing one, too. That means Bonnie spent twenty million getting these. She also appraised a pair of ice jadeites with floating flower patterns from random chunks of stone at the Antique Jade Appreciation Conference last weekend.

“If she puts those up for auction, she’ll earn hundreds of millions! With that in mind, do you

atht think Bonnie would want a necklace worth ten grand?

Netelee scoffed and rolled her eyes. “Damn, hundreds of millions, huh? Hahaha! You must be tripping. No one will ever believe your bullshit.”

The other students were in disbelief.

“Avril, I know you come from a wealthy family, but you Smiths aren’t one of the prominent if you said your bracelet ones in Pyralis. Twenty million, my ass! I would’ve believed you costs a hundred grand or even a million.”

Natalee could tell Avril’s bracelet cost a fortune, but she’d never believe it was worth ten

million a piece.

“Bonnie, return the necklace to Rene and apologize to her. We’re all classmates here. There’s no need to turn this into a big deal. I only ask that you sincerely apologize to Rene. No one here will mention this incident to anyone else.

“With that said, you must promise me you’ll turn over a new leaf and never steal again. If we find out you did it again, we’ll report you to the cops.”

Bonnie stared at Natalee indifferently, saying, “I didn’t steal it.”

“Tsk! Does anyone buy her crap?”

Bonnie glanced at the security camera in the hallway and said, “There’s a camera facing the lecture hall’s back door. We’ll find out who snuck in here while we were out for PE.”

Natalee spoke everyone’s mind, “You just don’t know when to quit, do you? It looks like your want to do things the hard way. We’ll be here all day to see how you keep up this act.”

Meanwhile, the still–hiding Jordynn grew anxious. She was so focused on looking through Bonnie’s bag just now that she overlooked the security camera in the hallway. Before she

knew it, the whole class returned to the lecture hall.

However, they discovered that the duration between their time in physical education class

and their return had been tampered with and overwritten.

“What are the chances? Someone tampered with the footage when we went for PE.” Avril

was upset.

Natalee cackled. “Yeah, what a coincidence, huh? That’s only the tampered part. Everything else seems normal.”

“What’s with the sarcasm, Natalee? Are you implying that Bonnie did this?”

“Is that such a crazy idea? We’re all computer science students. Anyone here could’ve

hacked into the security cameras.”

CHAPTER 320

Avril wished she could roll up her sleeves and put Natalee in her place. “Indeed, we’re computer science students, but some of the greatest minds in the industry developed Pyralist University’s firewall. Not even our professors can hack into it, not to mention freshmen like us.”

“Well, Bonnie could’ve bribed the staff in the monitoring room.”

“You motherfucker! It’s taking all my strength not to punch you, Natalee. You just said Bonnie stole Rene’s necklace because she ran out of money to pay for her studies.

“Are you seriously claiming Bonnie bribed a staff member with the money she doesn’t have? Do you even hear the shit that comes out of your mouth?”

Natalee turned red with rage and said stubbornly, “Either way, Bonnie’s the prime suspect.”

She glanced at Bonnie and asked, “You’re trying to prove your innocence with this footage, correct? How do you plan on proving that you didn’t steal Rene’s necklace now?”

“That’s easy.” Bonnie approached the security footage system and typed away. At that moment, everyone knew what she was trying to do. Some students looked at her with disdain and mockery.

“Someone tampered with the footage. Is Bonnie seriously trying to recover it? That’s

absurd!”

“She must’ve run out of excuses and is just trying to bide her time.”

“I guess you’re right. After all, Bonnie’s just a freshman. Does she think she can do what

most of us can’t?”

As the students mocked and questioned Bonnie’s intentions, she stopped typing.

“D–Did she recover the footage?!”

Everyone was dumbfounded. Some even rubbed their eyes to see if they were

hallucinating. Others even pinched their thighs, wondering if they were dreaming.

“Did you do it?!”

Suddenly, the lost footage began to play.

Meanwhile, Jordynn, hiding outside the monitoring room, became nervous. Although she

was relieved that someone had tampered with the footage, she did not expect Be

recover it so quickly

swear I’ll smack whoever else says Bonnie’s a good–for–nothing. She’s so good with computers and almost better than some of the professors here!”

Soon after, Jordynn’s worries became a reality, as everyone saw her in the footage.

It’s her! But how’s that possible? Her family is wealthy and reputable. Why would she do something like that?”

Even Bonnie was shocked.

I’ve only met Jordynn twice and can’t claim to know her well, but I don’t think she would’ve.

done something so outrageous even if she hates me.”

Bonnie was amidst her thoughts when Jordynn entered the monitoring room.
