Chapter 331
Paul would not have let Bonnie run her mouth in the past. However, he had just discovered she was the nation’s leading researcher, so he had to respect her.
Bonnie said leisurely, “I thought you said Trina was highly talented in scientific research. You also said the science world would suffer a significant loss if I didn’t forgive her for trying to frame me.”
Paul began to sweat as he said, “Trina’s cunning and is nothing compared to you. She’s a pathetic firefly that can’t match the moon’s brightness,”
Bonnie scoffed and looked at Caleb, saying, “I’ll let you deal with him since you let
him in.”
“I–I understand, Ms. Bonnie.” Caleb wiped the sweat off his forehead.
Meanwhile, Paul saw Bonnie leaving and called out to her. “Ms. Bonita, Trina fooled me, too! I’ve seen the error of my ways. Please give me a chance to redeem myself. I swear I’ll never dream of offending you again!”
However, Bonnie disappeared around the corner.
Caleb was furious, scolding, “You ruined my reputation, Paul!”
“Caleb, I didn’t know any better. I swear-”
“That’s Mr. Caleb to you! We’re no longer friends. If you’re smart, you’ll resign as a professor of Pyralis University and leave the city.”
Paul shuddered in fear. “But I’ve worked in the university for most of my life.”
“That’s enough, Paul! Do you think Russell will let you continue working at the university once he learns you’ve insulted Ms. Bonita?!” Caleb’s words shocked Paul. “Don’t forget about the government. You can kiss Arvandor goodbye if they discover what you’ve done.”
Paul was astonished, staggering backward before falling to the ground.
‘My life is over.‘
Trina paced around the living room while rubbing her hands restlessly.
“Trina, stop worrying. Professor Paul is visiting Bonita Research Institute as we speak. I’m confident he’ll speak up for you and get you back into Pyralis University.”
Suddenly, Trina received a call from Paul, “Put your phone on speaker, Trina.”
“Okay, Professor Paul.”
Gresham hurried over to listen in, asking, “How’d it go, Professor-”
“You’ve ruined me, Trina. You’re the worst thing that has ever happened to me. I wouldn’t be in this mess if it weren’t for you!” Paul wished to curse every Shepard family member.
However, his words confused Trina and her parents.
“Wh–what happened?”
“What’s wrong, Professor Paul?”
“How bold of you to ask me that! Thanks to you guys, I’m no longer a professor at Pyralis University! What’s worse, I can never step foot in Pyralis again!” Paul’s tone became increasingly aggressive with each word.
Finally, he could no longer stand it and cursed at them vocally. “Fuck you all!”
Beep!
He hung up the phone.
Gresham and the other two were petrified. They fell silent as a great fear gripped
their hearts.

Paul’s unnerving curses stunned Trina and her parents. They could not return to their senses for a long while.
Trina broke the silence, “M–Mom, Professor Paul said he no longer has a job at the university and has to leave the city. What happened over there? I thought he visited Bonita Research Institute to ask for his friend’s help.”
‘Did the professor get into trouble instead?‘
“I can ask you the same thing.” Vera sat on the couch and poured herself some water. She needed some time to digest the situation.
Meanwhile, Gresham rubbed his chin as he analyzed the situation. He guessed, Does Bonnie have something to do with this somehow?”
Trina’s eyes widened at that moment. Although her parents might not know about Bonnie’s connections to the Bonita Research Institute, she was privy to that
knowledge.
‘Bonnie knows Jim, Ms. Bonita’s bodyguard. Did the professor run into Jim at the research institute, and Jim stood up for her?‘
Vera would never believe Bonnie was capable of such things. She said, “What does Bonnie have to do with anything? She’s not that great. No one at the research institute would stand up for her.”
“Paul said we ruined his life. If you think about it, Bonnie’s likely related to that. Also, you’re forgetting she’s the miracle doctor.”
Vera realized something and said, “I heard she’s treating Ivor’s grandmother. He’s the CEO of the Knight Group. Do you think she asked for his help?”
Gresham agreed, “It’s possible.”
“Bonnie’s despicable! Why does she have to hurt us and Trina?! Bonnie only exists to bring disaster to our family!” Vera slumped to the floor and cried.
Gresham lit a cigarette and took a drag. He said, “You can just blame everything on Bonnie. Trina, you shouldn’t have tried to scheme against Bonnie. You should’ve

“There’s no need to stoop to her level and take revenge on her. How about you apologize to her instead? That reminds me. Give the Phodes a call. They might hure Bonnie, but Hadwin can’t stay in jail forever.
“You and the Rhodes will apologize to Bonnie. That’ll end this mess. After that, stay away from Bonnie and stop meddling in her affairs. You’re no match for her ”
Although Trina disapproved of that solution, she had to focus on the bigger picture. Since that was her only move, she took her phone and called the Rhodes, “Okay, let’s decide on a day if you agree. Don’t worry. My dad will contact Bonnie, and them we’ll end this once and for all.”
Bonnie sat in Ivor’s car, and they headed for Lenfield Resort
“The resort is on the opposite side of your house, Ivor. Aren’t you tired of picking me up every day?”
Ivor looked at her and said, “I’m a little tired of it, but you refuse to stay at my
place.”
Buzz, buzz, buzz.
Bonnie checked her phone and saw Gresham’s caller ID. She did not want to answer but could guess why he was calling. She knew he would keep calling if she did not answer. He might even try looking for her on campus.
“Buzz buzz buzz…” Her phone started vibrating
“Hello?”
Gresham sighed, replying, “We need to meet.”
After some silence, Bonnie replied, “Okay, I’ll see you at noon tomorrow.”
“Where should we meet?”
“At the coffee shop beside Lenfield Resort.” She picked that venue because she was too lazy to travel further.
“Lenfield Resort?” Gresham was surprised, “Do you mean that newly developed
ignored her since you know how rotten she is.
“There’s no need to stoop to her level and take revenge on her. How about you apologize to her instead? That reminds me. Give the Rhodes a call. They might hate Bonnie, but Hadwin can’t stay in jail forever.

“Yeah, that one. If that’s all, I’ll hang up,” Bonnie added, “If you have something else to say, save it for tomorrow.”
Judging from her tone, Ivor could guess who called. He asked, “Was that one of your former family members?”
“Mhm, I’m meeting with them tomorrow at noon.
Ivor frowned. “Aren’t you worried they’re trying to cause trouble for you again?”
Bonnie replied casually, “It’d be weird if they didn’t.”
“If you know that, why did you agree to meet with them?”
“I might’ve cut ties with them, but we’re still somewhat connected. I’m going because I want to cut off all remaining ties. I’ll have my life from tomorrow onward, and they’ll have theirs.”
Bonnie looked so cold and stubborn that it pained Ivor to see her that way. He stopped on the side of the road and unbuckled his seatbelt.
“We’re not there yet. Why’d you pull over? Are you-“Ivor leaned over and silenced her before she could finish. Bonnie’s eyes widened, and she was about to push him off.
However, he embraced her and said, “Oh, my poor Bonnie. Don’t be sad. Remember that you’re not in this alone. I’ll watch your back and ensure no one picks on you.”
His voice was deep and husky as she enunciated each word confidently, making Bonnie feel safe. Her heart softened as she rested her chin on Ivor’s shoulder. She
smiled and felt much better now.
Ivor and Bonnie reached Villa Number Eight in Lenfield Resort twenty minutes later. The former looked around, and his eyes glinted, saying, “It’s such a fantastic design! Did you hire Reuben Rice as your interior designer?”
Bonnie nodded. “Yeah, he did all this.”
Her response surprised Ivor. “Reuben is well over ninety years old. He stopped taking commissions long ago. How’d you convince him to help you?”
“A friend of mine helped with that.”
“A friend?” Ivor squinted. Then, an image of someone flashed in his mind. “Don’t tell me it’s Heath. He’s close to you, isn’t he?”
Bonnie knew Ivor was jealous. Still, she said, “Bingo. It’s Heath who’s oh–so–close with me.”
Ivor knew she didn’t like him getting jealous of everyone. So, he swallowed his pride. “How did he manage to hire Reuben?”
Bonnie smiled at Ivor and straightened his tie. “You’re such a wise man, Ivor. Can’t you tell who Heath really is?”
He was focused on her hands, which were still adjusting his tie. He was still
indulging himself in it when she withdrew her hand. A moment later, she saw a hint of disappointment in his eyes.
“I know the Rice family is one of the wealthiest and most prominent families in Pyralis. They specialize in interior design. However, they rarely mingle with people in high society. So, how did you get to know Heath?”
“Huh? It’s been so long that I can’t remember.” Bonnie was not lying. After all, she knew so many people. She might’ve had an excellent memory but could not remember every little detail.
Since she could not remember, Ivor did not pry.
“Wait a minute. I left something Grandpa gave us in the car.” Ivor turned and reached into his car to take an optimal disc.
“What is it?” Bonnie stared at the plain–looking optimal disc in puzzlement.

“Grandpa didn’t tell me what it is. He wanted us to watch it. He said it’s crucial for the family and Knight Group’s growth,” Ivor said solemnly.
“Is it that serious?” Bonnie grew stern as well. “Does it contain confidential information about the company? Are you sure it’s okay for me to see it?”
“Let’s not make wild guesses. We’ll find out once we go inside and play it.”
“Okay.”
Ivor popped the disc in, picked up the remote, and played the disc. Bonnie sat beside him and focused on the video clip.
“Stop it. Ugh. It hurts! Go slower.” Several embarrassing voices came out from the speaker. A couple in their birthday suits did unspeakable things to each other by the beach. The video was so erotic that even the usually composed Bonnie blushed.
Ivor was not doing any better, either. Although men were typically more
accustomed to adult content, Sigmund chose something so provocative that Ivor’s face reddened, and his heart raced.
Bonnie snatched the remote from Ivor and shut off the TV. She rubbed her temples and knew what Sigmund was trying to show them.
‘It seems Sigmund wants us to have a baby. That way, Ivor would have an heir to the company.‘
Bonnie was amidst her thoughts when Ivor turned to her and asked, “Were you staring at the guy just now?”
Bonnie was speechless.
‘Come on, I’m a doctor. I’m used to seeing a man’s ding–dong. The man in the video didn’t have an impressive one, but I can never tell Ivor that. Otherwise, he’ll haunt me for the rest of the day by asking how many penises I’ve seen.‘
“You’re overthinking it. There’s nothing special about a man’s naked body. I was staring at the lady most of the time, if you must know.” Bonnie noticed her fiance’s eyes grow wide.
Thinking that he distrusted her, she added, “I’m not lying. I stared at the lady so much that I even remembered the details. Let’s see, the lady had a red mole on her chest and is probably a C– cup.”
Ivor’s eyes grew wider. After some silence, he asked, “Do you like women?”
She did not know how to respond to that.
‘Is he serious? It seems that no answer will satisfy him. I’ll have to use his tactics against him.‘
“Well, were you staring at the woman?”
‘I’ve got just the answers for him, too. If he denies looking at the woman, I’ll say he was looking at the guy the whole time. Let’s see how he reacts when I give him a
taste of his own medicine.‘
He smiled, saying, “I blacked out earlier. So, I didn’t see anything.”
Her lips twitched a little as she stared at him. She thought Ivor was impossibly shameless. “All right, I need to catch some sleep. I have to face the Shepards tomorrow.”
Just as she stood up, he pulled at her wrist.
“What do you think you’re doing?” she frowned and sighed reluctantly.
“Grandpa shouldn’t have shown me something like that. I can’t sleep by myself now. How about we sleep together?”
She flashed him the sweetest smile possible and said, “I think I would’ve said yes, but you just said you blacked out earlier. That means you didn’t see anything. So, why would it be a problem for you to fall asleep?”
Ivor’s face was full of helplessness and love.
Chapter 335
It seemed Ivor just could not win against her.
The following morning, the Shepards and Rhodes arrived at the coffee shop near Lenfield Resort. They saw Bonnie leaving the resort and started making wild
guesses.
“Do you think Bonnie’s sugar daddy stays in this neighborhood, Dad?” Trina said that to guide the adults‘ thoughts.
“That’s enough, Trina. I can let it slide if you say such things around us, but I don’t want you bringing it up when Bonnie’s around,” Gresham said, displeased, “We’re meeting with her to apologize and end this mess.
“You should know what’ll happen if Bonnie hears that. How will you return to Pyralis University, then? Also, Hadwin would never escape prison if you instigated her.”
Trina was upset and panicked slightly when her dad lectured her.
Demetria also regarded her with hostility, “I always thought you were smart and tactful, but you never know what to do in crucial moments. I never realized that until now. It’s fine if you don’t want to return to the university, but you shouldn’t botch things for my son.”
She used to love Trina, but that changed when the former discovered Bonnie was the miracle doctor. Now, Demetria found Trina pretty annoying.
‘I set my son up to marry Bonnie, but Trina ruined it by having an affair with Hadwin. The famous miracle doctor would have been my daughter–in–law if it
weren’t for this meddlesome idiot.‘
Demetria kept her thoughts to herself. After all, she had to preserve some semblance of harmony between her family and the Shepards. However, everyone knew she disdained Trina because of how she talked to the young lady.
Trina bit her lip as the adults reprimanded her.
Soon after, Bonnie sat across from the two families in the coffee shop. She leisurely sipped her coffee and put it down, saying, “Now that we’re all here, let’s cut to the
chase and stop wasting each other’s precious time.”

She glanced at Gresham and Vera first. “I never considered taking revenge after you disowned me. Instead, I pretended like I never knew you guys. However, Trina kept causing trouble for me because she was afraid I might steal her status as your daughter.”
Trina gritted her teeth. Although she hated Bonnie, she assumed a pitiful expression and looked like she could cry at any moment.
“I swear, Bonnie. I didn’t-”
Bonnie grew impatient and interrupted, “Shut your trap. Is it your turn to talk? I’m not interested in the shit that’s about to escape that thing you call a mouth.”
Gresham and Vera glared at their daughter, signaling her to stop talking. Meanwhile, Trina could explode with rage from Bonnie, driving her insane.
Bonnie continued, “I can get Trina back into Pyralis University, but she has to promise not to come near me. She has to leave whenever she sees me. If she even looks my way, I guarantee I’ll kick her out of the university and the scientific research community. You heard what happened to Professor Paul, correct?”
Trina clenched her fists under the table. “You did that to him?”
“I didn’t do anything. Paul made terrible decisions and got what he deserved,” Bonnie replied dryly.
“I don’t get it, Bonnie. Can you tell me what he did to deserve such a tragic fate?” Trina asked the question on everyone’s mind. Everyone at the table was deadly
curious, too.
As Bonnie took another sip of her coffee, everyone stared at her. They were furious with her casual appearance but could only suppress their anger.
A minute later, Bonnie said, “He acted like a fool and insulted Ms. Bonita for Trina’s
sake. He called Ms. Bonita a good–for–nothing pest and claimed she makes no contributions to the world.”
Everyone gasped with horror.

“D–Did you say Professor Paul Insulted Ms. Bonita for me? Who are you trying to fool? Why would he do that for me? Why did he insult Ms. Bonita?”
‘She’s right! Why would Professor Paul do that?‘ Gresham and the gang looked at Bonnie.
The latter checked the time and did not feel like explaining it to them. Instead, Bonnie said, “It’s getting late, and I have work to attend to. I don’t have time to stay and chat. If you’re that curious about it, try asking Paul what happened.
“I don’t work at the research institute, so how would I know? Let’s return to my earlier terms. Did you hear them all, Trina?”
Trina lowered her head and reluctantly replied, “I heard them.”
Bonnie gazed at Gresham and Vera, saying, “Since you’ve disowned me and don’t seem interested in reconciliation, can you two please stop lecturing me as if you’re my parents? After all, you no longer have the right to do that.
“You wouldn’t scold a stranger so arrogantly, would you? I want you two to stop talking to me as if I’m your daughter whenever we see each other. Instead, start treating me like a stranger.”
After some thought, Gresham took his phone and made a video. “I, Gresham Shepard, will make another announcement. I have thoroughly cut ties with Bonnie Shepard.
“My family and I are no longer affiliated with her in any way, shape, or form. Should I bump into her wherever it may be, I shall regard her as a stranger.” Immediately after, he posted the video on the family’s official Twitter account, asking, “How was that, Bonnie?”
She nodded in satisfaction.
Vera looked at her as if she were a stranger and said, “Now that we’ve held up our end of the bargain, please do your part and let Trina return to Pyralis University.”
“You got it,” Bonnie made a phone call. “Russell, I’ve made a deal with the Shepards Trina into the university.”
‘Did she just call the university president directly?! Gresham and the rest were astounded.

Russell’s words terrified Gresham. Considering how the former talked about Bonnie, the duo was much closer than Gresham could have imagined.
After ending the call, Gresham asked, “How on earth do you know the university president?”
Bonnie looked at him blankly, saying, “You’re just a stranger. Why would I tell you about my private life?”
Gresham was furious, but he quickly recomposed himself.
‘It’s as she said. She’ll have her life, and we’ll have ours. It doesn’t matter how well or bad she does in the
future. There’s no point asking her that question.”
Soon after, Bonnie turned her attention to Demetri and Draco. “I’ll give you two the same deal I offered the Shepards. I’ll tell the authorities to free Hadwin, but your family must stop harassing me. I have ways
of putting him back behind bars if you do.”
The Rhodes differed from the Shepards as the former was a much bigger and wealthier family. Hence,
they had some influence throughout Pyralis. They had never suffered such humiliation before this. Of
course, they were more upset about the terms than the Shepards.
Chapter 337
“Fine. You’ve got yourself a deal,” Draco and Demetria said with restraint.
Bonnie knew both families were displeased with the deal. Still, she got what she wanted out of their
meeting.
“Words mean nothing. We should sign an agreement.” Bonnie handed the two families her drafted contracts, and they read them carefully.
They thought she would tweak a few words and pull a fast one over them. However, they were surprised that the contracts perfectly reflected every term she had voiced earlier. Ultimately, the two families
signed the contracts.
Bonnie took back the contracts and raised her brow.
‘Perfect, I will no longer have to deal with the Shepards and Rhodes.”
and Suddenly, she saw a silhouette outside the coffee shop from the corner of her eyes. Before getting up leaving. Bonnie told Gresham and the others, “Since that’s over, we’ll be strangers to each other from now
onward.”
Gresham watched as Bonnie left the coffee shop and headed toward the “sugar daddy” he had seen before. “Hmph! Does she think we’ll regret our decision because she’s the miracle doctor?
She’s still the same pompous girl who doesn’t know how to respect her elders. Karma will get her soon enough.”
He looked at the agreement he held and added, “Fortunately, we signed this agreement. We no longer
have to concern ourselves with Bonnie.”
Even Vera seemed relaxed.
Meanwhile, Ivor smiled warmly at the approaching Bonnie. He asked, “Do you want to grab a bite?”
“Sure.”
When the duo entered the car, Ivor noticed the contracts Bonnie held and asked, “What are those?”
“These allow me to cut off all ties with the Shepards,” Bonnie spoke casually. She nded like she was
discussing something mundane that had nothing to do with her.
Ivor frowned as his heart sank. After some thought, he said, “The universe is always fair. It knows you were robbed of loving parents and gave you the best husband ever instead.”
Initially, Bonnie noticed his brief silence and thought he would say something to make her feel better. However, she did not expect to hear that.
Ivor remembered something and said, “The Day family is hosting a dinner party next weekend, and I
Vited Dr. Fanelli. Since you’ve missed meeting him twice, I’ll introduce you to him properly this time.”
Bonnie did not recall receiving a text from him about that. She asked, “When did you invite Dr. Fanelli to the party? Why didn’t I know about it?”
‘Did I miss his text when I was busy at the research institute?”
While Bonnie was amidst her thoughts, she noticed Ivor monitoring her suspiciously, Immediately after, she realized she had just outed herself with the questions she asked earlier. She calmly added, “You didn’t tell me about the dinner earlier.”
Ivor continued to gaze at her, saying, “I haven’t texted him yet. I planned to do it when I got home.”
“Oh, so that’s what you mean.”
‘That makes more sense. Although I was occupied at the research institute, I should’ve seen Ivor’s text when I left.”
“Mark it on your calendar. You’re coming with me to the party,” Ivor said.
Bonnie’s lips twitched. She was about to make an excuse but realized she could not keep doing that. After all, it would seem unnatural and grow more suspicious if she did. “Sure.”
Friday arrived in the blink of an eye. Trina and the Shepard’s kept their promise and did not cause trouble for Bonnie over the past few days. It seemed the contracts were a necessary move.
After class, Bonnie went to the research institute and heard footsteps behind her. It seemed someone was tailing her.

Bonnie whipped around but saw no one on the street behind her. However, she caught the hem of a pink shirt by the alley. It seemed a lady was following her.
Bonnie searched her memory and recalled Jordynn occasionally appearing nearby that day. The latter
wore a pink shirt, too.
Meanwhile, Jordynn hid in the alley and patted her chest, thinking, ‘Phew, It’s a good thing I ducked in here in time. Otherwise, she would’ve caught me.”
Before she knew it, a knife appeared on her neck. “Give me everything you have.”
She nervously glanced at the mugger and realized the man wore a mask. She was terrified, stammering.” Oh, okay. I–I’ll give you everything. Just take it easy, okay?”
Jordynn paled as she tremblingly handed the mugger her phone.
“Okay, now give me your necklace, bracelet, and everything else.”
“W–Wait a second, I’ll remove these first.” She obeyed the man and removed all her jewelry, even giving. him her earrings. She was on the verge of tears when she asked, “Can you let me go now?”
“What rotten luck to run into a mugger! Oh, man, I regret doing this. I knew I should’ve stopped following
Bonnie when it got dark. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have ended up in this dark alley and got mugged. Fortunately, he’s only after my valuables.”
The mugger looked at Jordynn from head to toe and said lewdly, “You’re packing a good pair there.”
“N–No, I gave you everything. I swear!”

mercy to save herself. Instead, Jordynn warned Bonnie about the mugger.
The former realized Bonnie froze. Jordynn yelled, “Hurry up and run, Bonnie! He might be alone, but he has a knife! He might have some friends hiding around here, too. What are you waiting for? Run!”
Suddenly, Jordynn tripped and fell. “Argh! That hurt!”
Her face reddened as sweat rolled down her cheeks. She held her feet and curled up on the ground, on the verge of tears.
The mugger finally caught up and said, “Aww, why aren’t you running anymore? I just wanted to search. you for valuables.”
Tears blurred Jordynn’s vision. Soon after, it cleared up, and she saw Bonnie.
Jordynn’s eyes widened as she wondered, ‘What in the world is she thinking? It’s bad enough she didn’t run, but she’s even serving herself to him on a silver platter!”
“Well, damn, pretty lady. How’re you doing? It looks like I’m having a threesome tonight!” The mugger observed Bonnie’s figure lewdly.
The exasperated Jordynn looked at Bonnie and said, “I told you to run, but you wouldn’t listen. Now look
what-”
Suddenly, Bonnie kicked the mugger, sending him flying.
Chapter 339
The mugger rolled and crashed into a nearby trash can.

He screamed and groaned while Jordynn was stunned by what she saw. She was at a loss for words as she gawked at the mugger.
Bonnie glanced at the mugger and said condescendingly, “Feel free to report yourself to the cops.”
The mugger roared, “Who the fuck are you?! Why would I listen to you?”
Immediately after, Bonnie kicked his chest.

The sound of breaking ribs echoed.
“Will you report yourself to the police department now?” Bonnie glanced at him blankly. She looked so casual that the mugger was full of fear.
Meanwhile, Jordynn’s jaw dropped as she watched the unfolding events.
“Aren’t you going to say something? I should’ve kicked you harder,” Bonnie cheerfully said as if she did
not care about breaking his ribs.
The mugger saw Bonnie motioning to kick him again and grew wide–eyed. He yelled, “1–I’ll do it!”

He was too late. Bonnie kicked him again.
“Gah!” The mugger yelped in fear and pain. His eyes were bloodshot, and he was in so much pain that he
could barely breathe.
Bonnie frowned and asked, “Were you about to say you’d report yourself to the cops?”
The mugger was on the verge of tears, stammering, “Y–You didn’t let me finish.”
“Well, you should’ve spoken sooner.” Bonnie withdrew her leg and added, “Go on.”
The mugger clutched his abdomen as a tear dropped to the ground. “1 think you broke my ribs. How am I
supposed to go when I can’t get up?”
“There’s no way you’re this weak. I didn’t even kick you that hard.” Bonnie looked at him as if he were a
piece of trash. “You mug people for a living and should be somewhat tough. It seems I’m dead wrong. Why would you do these things if you’re so weak? What are you thinking?”
The mugger was furious after getting insulted so badly.
“Ugh, fine. I’ll call the cops. You’re such a burden, you know that?” Bonnie took her phone and called the police. Afterward, she turned to look at Jordynn, asking, “Is your leg okay?”
Jordynn was still in a daze and did not reply.
“Jeez, you can’t even respond. Is it that severe?” Bonnie muttered before crouching and lifting Jordynn’s
foot.
“Argh, that hurts. Abri
was so painful that she almost cried.
“It’s not that severe. It’s just dislocated.” Bonnie determined Jordynn’s injury in less than a minute.
The latter looked at her in disbelief, asking. “Do you have medical knowledge?”
Immediately after, she remembered finding a medical journal in Bonnie’s school bag.
“Uh–huh.” Bonnie held Jordynn’s injured foot and pushed it firmly.

Jordynn instantly felt better and was no longer doubtful. Indeed, Bonnie was adept in medical knowledge. Even so, the former asked, “Aren’t you a computer science student? How do you know this stuff?”
“Can’t a lady have a hobby?” Bonnie spoke the truth.
Judging by her expression, Jordynn knew she was telling the truth. She asked, “Are you usually this good with all your hobbies?”
“You think I’m good at this? I think I’m way worse at medical knowledge than my main job.”
“Your main job?” Soon after, Jordynn knew what Bonnie meant. “Are you talking about computer science?”
Before Bonnie could answer, Jordynn formulated a theory, saying, “I guess that makes sense. After all, you hacked into Pyralis University’s security to reclaim that footage. Not even the professors could’ve
done that.
“That reminds me. Since you’re already outstanding in computer science, why’d you sign up for the
course?”
“That’s because my computer skills are the worst among my other skills.”
“Haha, you’re pretty cocky.” As far as Jordynn knew, Bonnie was bluffing. However, the former could not bring herself to hate Bonnie. After all, an occasional bluff from someone as skillful as
Bonnie was not a
problem.
“Bonnie, I take back everything I said about you before.”
“Huh?” Bonnie looked at Jordynn in a daze.
“I used to say you don’t deserve Ivor.”

“Oh, that’s what you’re talking about. Don’t worry about it. I didn’t let it bother me.”
“Really?” Jordynn had never met anyone so understanding. If someone gave her a cheque and started
insulting her, she would not have forgiven that person.
Bonnie chuckled and said, “You’re not the first one to humiliate and look down or ne. I’m a country bumpkin who weaseled her way into a wealthy family. A bunch of people despise me for that. How would I live if I had to settle the score with those people?”
Although she sounded casual, Jordynn could not help but feel sorry for her. Simultaneously, the latter felt guilty. “You’re my kind of gal. Fine, you’re now one of my best friends. Just holler if you need help with anything. I can ensure the Shepards never pester you again.”
“Thanks, but that won’t be necessary. I’ve ended things between me and them. I’ll have my life, and they’ll
have theirs.”

The following night, Bonnie changed into a gown and went downstairs. Ivor was overly excited as he admired the splendid young lady before him, saying, “You look spectacular in everything, Bonnie.”
However, she was in no mood to entertain him. She was still thinking about how to get through the party without blowing her cover.
“M’lady.” Ivor opened the car door for Bonnie and entered after her. He then took his phone and said, “I should call Dr. Fanelli first to see if he’s on the way.”
