Chapter 106
Selena POV:
I’m trying as hard as I can to find him through the mind link but nothing!
Snapping my head to look at them I see them both stand there with sad eyes and tears are flooding down Emma’s cheeks.
“Where is he!” I boom out through the mind link to both of them and see Emma jump back a step! I don’t care if they get frightened of me I need answers, I need to know right now where he is!
“You have to calm down Selena!” Jessie says through the mind link
“Don’t tell me to call down! Tell me where he is instead!” I bark at her through the mind link and if I could get up from the bed I would leave and start to look for him instead.
“He is alive! But you have to understand something!” Emma says and a part of me takes a breath of relief he is alive, then what is going on?
“Just tell me!” I mind link her
“You are his second chance mate and he marked you, I need you to understand I have done everything I can to help you two keep the bond but there is only so much I can do!” she says and a cry leaves her lips when I see her wipe away her tears but more just keeps coming.
I don’t like the sound of that and at the same time, I felt we still have the bond.
I felt the tingles when he touched me! The bond is still there!” I mind link her when I see her take a deep breath.
“That was what I was able to do but he manages to break the bond! To Kian he has two broken bonds and even if you still have the bond to each other it’s broken!” she says and I have already felt it!
“Yes, I know!” I mind link her and look at them when I see them both exchanges looks before Emma turns back her head to me.
“He is dying Selena!” she says and I stop breathing for a second and want to scream out in pain from hearing this! I felt him, I know the bond is still there!
“Where is he!” I bark out through the mind link and try to move my body! I have to get to him, I can’t let this happen.
Moving my arm I gather all strength I can to try and get up from the bed but I don’t manage to get up. Feeling a couple of hands forcing me back to the bed.
“Calm down!” I hear Emma’s voice but they won’t be able to keep me away from him, I will get to him some way! Struggling with all strength I manage to get I try to fight their hands.
“Now you listen to me and lay back down or I will knock you unconscious! You decide how it’s going to be!” I hear Jessie barks at me in a deep voice, she is angry but that won’t stop me!
“I have to get to him!” I scream through the mind link and feel tears spill over, he is my mate and I have to get to him.
“To do what exactly Selena? You are in no shape to do anything! Heal up first and I will help you to him, whatever you want to do I will help you but not like this!” Jessie says and I know she is right, I can’t do anything to him if I’m healing this slowly.
I give up the struggle and lay back down, crying hard my body starts to shake when I’m about to scream out my pain but not a word is coming out of my mouth. Only tears are flooding down my
cheeks!
I can’t let him d*ie from me! My mind is railing with my thoughts, how can I help him? I need to heal up better than I am if I’m going to have any chance to change what is about to happen.
“I’m so sorry Selena! I have tried to do everything I can to keep him alive, but he is getting worse by the minute!” Emma says and I don’t blame her for anything of this, she isn’t the one who is behind this.
“You know Selena he wouldn’t think of taking someone else as his mate, he only wants you, and are ready to d*ie for it!” I hear Jessie say and what is it going to do to help me? It’s not like it’s making me feel better if that’s what she thinks. I can only imagine the pain he felt when Elijah broke the bond with that potion!
That potion!
Snapping my eyes open I know what I need to do! My body is healing too slowly for me to help him and I know with my new gift I can get my strength back and heal faster if I only can get some of that herb. I have to claim him and for that, I have to heal up fast!
“I need the herb!” I mind link them both and turning my head to look at them.
“What herb?” Emma says and looks at me with a puzzled expression.
“I need the herb from the swamp right now!” I order in a higher voice through the mind link than I planned.
“Cannon brought some back with him I can get it but I have no knowledge of how to do a potion with it!” Emma says and I can see a glimpse of hope in her eyes.
“I don’t care! Just give it to me and I will eat it the way it is!” I say through the mind link before she turns around and starts to head for the door, she halts in her tracks and turns to look at Jessie
“I need you to go to the kitchen and get me a glass of strong juice and hurry!” she orders and they both are quick to get out of the room.
Closing my eyes I try to reach for Kian, I need for him to fight it a little longer. He just has to hang in there!
It doesn’t take long before they both are back inside the room and I have tried everything I can to reach him but in vain!
Hearing them walk around I open my eyes and see Emma smushing the herb in a mortar when Jessie stands beside her with two glasses, one is filled with orange. juice and the other is empty.
Emma pour the smashed herb into the glass when I see her pour some juice inside it when she starts to mix it.
She takes a straw into the glass before she walks over to the bed with it in her hand.
“I’m certain this will taste worse than anything you have ever tasted but there is nothing better I can do!” she says and places the straw to my lips, I don’t care how it’s going to taste only need it to help me heal.
Taking large gulps of the drink I almost puke right out at the taste, it is by far the worse taste I have ever felt!
Forcing myself to empty the glass I have to lay down in the bed and keep my mouth closed and just breathe to not throw it all up again when I feel my gift start to sizzle under my skin. It takes a moment
before I feel my new gift It’s reaching out and drawing strength from the herb, it’s slower this way than in the potion but it’s strong!
Feeling it almost bubbling under my skin when my broken bones snap back into place, it’s painful and takes my breath away when several is being snapped in their right place at the same time! I almost black out from the pain but f0rce myself to stay awake, I have to for him!
“KIAN!” I scream out from my healed face when the pain gets the best of me.
Chapter 107
Selena POV:
The last bones snap into place and I can finally take a deep breath again, feeling how my gift heals my body like an explosion and I get high on the feeling.
It’s like I have been drugged and everything is coated in a purple light when I open my eyes, it feels so good!
I’m strong and powerful this way, it’s like I’m untouchable and no one can do anything against me!
I take a deep breath and move my arms and legs before tossing the quilt off me and getting down from the bed.
Feeling my head spin from the fast movement I try to focus but it’s like I’m in a delirium for a moment.
“Hey! How do you feel? You look high!” I hear Emma’s voice and turn my head to look at her when her head is bouncing around in front of me. Blinking repeatedly to get it straight when I hear Jessie say something I can’t understand.
“Maybe you should wait a moment before you try and walk out of here?” Emma says and grabs my arm. Leaning over the bed I place my head on the mattress and try to focus to get this high feeling of me.
“She is tripping on the herb! And to be frank that was the sickest sound I have ever heard when her bone snapped into place. Maybe let her rest a moment before she does something else!” I hear Jessie say from a distance. I don’t have a moment to stay in here and rest when my mate is dying from me somewhere!
Pushing off the bed I try to take a step but my legs won’t corporate and I’m about to fall forward when I feel several arms catch me.
“Yep, she is high! Now what” I hear Jessie say and try to stand up properly. Turning my head to look at her she is moving in front of me like the rest of the room.
“Either you help me get to my mate or you get the hell out of my way! I’m going to claim him and no one is going to stop me from doing so!” I say and take a step forward when I accidentally take several steps to the side and almost fall if I didn’t hit the wall with my shoulder. This is going to be harder to get to him than I thought, pushing off the wall I feel a pair of arms around my waist.
“Alright fighter! Let’s claim your man!” I hear Jessies voice when she starts to walk with me over to the door, every step I take the room is moving in front of my eyes.
“I guess there is no stopping her now, let’s get her to him!” Emma’s voice comes next to me when she grabs my other arm and holds me straight, placing a foot in front of the other we make it over to the door when Jessie stops and opens the door before we continue out of the room.
Everything is moving in front of my eyes even if I try to focus on my steps, besides the purple vision in front of me everything is moving. That had to be a strong herb and maybe we took a bit too much of it!
“We have to get someone down here and help her get up to him, we can’t do this by ourselves!” I hear Emma’s voice when I try to focus on the stairs in front of me. Taking a step up I almost fall forward because there wasn’t a step, to begin with!
“Yeah, I think you are right! I will mind link Declan!” I hear Emma’s voice when I try one more time to get a foot up the step but once again there isn’t anything in front of me.
“F*ck these steps! I can’t get up!” I whine when I hear Jessie chuckle beside me.
“If this wasn’t that serious it would have been hysterically funny. Maybe, we get to laugh about it later!” she says when I see a black blob coming down the stairs before my eyes adjust to the person. It’s Declan and he is moving fast down the steps.
“How did you get her to heal up that fast?” I hear him say when I find myself lifted in his arms.
“The herb from the swamp, and she is tripping on it! We might have given her a bit too much!” I hear Emma say when we move up the stairs to the floor I know he has his chambers.
“You think this is a good idea!” I hear Declan ask when he walks with me down the hallway.
“Try and stop her if you want and I can guarantee this castle will soon be in small pieces. Look at her eyes!” Jessie says and she would be right, no one is stopping me from getting to him!
“Alright, but does she knows what this means if she goes through with it!” I hear him say when we come to stop in front of his chambers, he pushes the door open and once his intoxic scent hits my nose I almost burst! My mate!
No one is going to stop me, I will claim what’s mine!
Declan walks closer with me to the bed before he places me down on my feet, I take a step closer, but I can’t get close to him fast enough.
“You think this is a good idea?” I hear Cannon’s voice when I reach the bed and an arm comes and stops me before I can get over to him. Turning my head I see Emma’s face in front of me.
“I need for you to listen to me and try to take this in before you make a decision!” she says when Jessie comes over and grabs my waist hard, she is holding me close in her arms, and don’t get what’s the problem. Turning my head to look at Emma her head is more focused right now and I guess the high
feeling is about to calm down. Giving her a nod as an @ssurance to continue I see her have a worried look on her face.
“You are his second mate and all of this you know, but since you have been marked twice I’m not sure you would survive claiming him and he won’t make it!” she says and I just look at her, I hear her speak and saw her lips moving in front of me but did I hear it right?
“Do you understand what I’m trying to tell you?” she says and I try to go through it in my head. Since I was marked by them both and the bond was destroyed I’m weaker than before, she doesn’t have to tell me I already know this, I feel it in my body!
“I think so?” I say and have to support myself to Jessie where we stand when Emma takes my hand in hers and hold it tight to her chest.
“I’m not sure you would make it if you mark him and he doesn’t survive!” she says and I see tears run down her cheeks. Did I hear her right?

Chapter 108
Selena POV:
Looking at her for a long moment and trying to wrap my head around what she just told me, nothing of it makes any difference to me! I’m here to claim what’s mine and if he d*ies and it takes me with him I’m fine with it, I wouldn’t want to go one and live without him anyway!
“It’s alright, I’m not changing my mind! He is my true mate and I will claim him” I say with a firm voice when I try to get my head to clear up from this high.
I hear a sob leave Emma’s lip and I reach for her to get her in my arms, she understands what I try to do when she throws herself in my arms.
“I can’t stand the thought of losing you but I understand why you are doing this and I would do the same!” she says in a sob. She wraps her arms around my shoulders and holds me tight to her, I hate to do this to her but I won’t change my mind.
“If I’m not going to make it I have had the best of times with you! Don’t forget it and make sure to take care of everyone!” I say to her and wrap my arms around her for a moment.
“You know I have seen both!” she says and I already understand what she has seen.
“It’s alright Emma! He’s my mate and it’s time for me to claim what belongs to me!” I say and nothing she says can get me to back out from this! I feel Jessie’s head next to mine when she hugs me from the side.
“Please don’t leave us!” I hear Jessie say and I almost start to cry from her words, she is the hard one and rarely shows any feelings.
I have to close my eyes for a moment and breath before I do this.
“I will claim him and whatever happens after is out of my hands! He is my mate and he where ready to give up his life for me, now I will do the same! If I don’t make it you two know what to do, and you Jessie will take over the pack!” I say when I feel her squeeze me harder from the side.
“I’m not ready for this!” I hear Jessie say and she breaks down in a sob. Now not even I can hold it together!
“Let’s hope this isn’t goodbye!” I say and feel how tears run down my cheeks when I take one of my arms and wrap it around Jessie to hug her too.
We stand there for a short moment when Emma breaks the silence.
“I have seen both, and I don’t know which one is going to happen. What I do know is you will go into heat almost right away when you have marked him since we have pushed your heat away for so long and you started to go into heat with Elijah!” Emma says and just by hearing his name being spoken out loud has me shivering throughout my body, if I could erase that memory I would!
“It’s alright Emma!” I say next to her ear, she squeezes me harder for a moment in silence and I know there is something more she isn’t telling me.
It takes a long moment before I feel her take a large breath beside my ear.
“It will be painful for you if he doesn’t make it!” she says and it doesn’t change my mind, I already know it will be painful if he d*ies.
“It’s alright Emma! I have already felt him be taken away from me and this time if he doesn’t make it I will be happy to follow after him! He is my true mate and I don’t want to continue living without him!” I
say to her and give her a light squeeze, I love them all and I know they will make it without me if it comes to that. I on the other hand will follow Kian!
“Now you all have to get out of here and let me do what I intend to!” I tell them and take my arms from them, I have no more time to waste.
They both take a step toward the door where Cannon and Declan already are waiting for them.
“I will be waiting outside the door to help you once the heat kick in and I will bring you something for the pain!” Emma says and looks at me for a moment, giving her a nod as a response before I see them both walk over to the door.
They take one last look at me before heading out the door and closing it after them.
Turning around to the bed I see Kian laying unconscious on the bed, he has a quilt up to his chest and he looks pale and sick! A part of me dreads to move forward and touch him if the bond is gone and if he is beyond salvation. I can’t lose him and only the thought has my legs to start moving, climbing up on the bed I make my way over to him and stop beside him.

Placing my hands on his chest I lean forward and press my lips to his a moment when I feel my tears run down my cheeks.
“I can’t let you go without a fight and wherever you are going I’m coming with you! Fight with me, my love!” I say and trace my nose down his neck and over to his shoulder, finding the spot for my mark I let my canines slip out.
Biting him hard until my canines hit his bone I let my energy slip over to him through the bit and hope he can get some strength from it and come back to me.
His blood runs in my mouth and I feel exhausted when I withdraw my canines and lap over the bite. Laying over his chest I can hardly keep my eyes open.
“Come back to me Kian!” I say to him before falling asleep on his chest.
Chapter 109
Selena POV:
Feeling his chest rise and fall under my head I listen to his steady heartbeats, some part of me is afraid it will stop if I take my head away from him.
I woke up earlier when I started to feel hot, knew even before the pain started in my body what was about to happen.
“Kian, I need for you to wake up! I want you to open your eyes and talk to me, I miss hearing your voice!” I say when I’m hit with a lot of pain. Digging my nails into his skin where I’m holding my hands, it takes a moment before the pain starts to subside a bit and I can take a large breath.
Hearing a soft knock on the door before it’s opened and Emma comes walking inside. I knew she would come when the heat would start and I almost start to cry at the sight of her. She walks over to the bed with a tray and places it on the sideboard.
“I have a potion for you, it will help you with the pain! Then I brought you something to eat, you need your strength for both of you!” she says and takes a seat on the chair beside the bed when I turn my head and look at Kian for a moment, I don’t see any improvement on him at all!
“Come, Selena, he will be here even if you let go for a moment!” I hear Emma say and I guess she knew how I feel about it.
Taking my hands and head away from him I sit up in the bed and make my way over to the edge where Emma is, she gives me a cup with the potion and I take it without hesitation before giving the empty cup back to her.
“You know I will pour you a bath, it will make you feel better and I can see to Kian for a moment when you take some time,” Emma says and gets up from her seat and starts to head over to the bathroom. I take the sandwich and start to eat small bites of it while I hear Emma turn on the taps in the bathroom.
Turning my head and look at Kian just to make sure he’s there.
Hearing Emma walk back out to where I am I place the half–eaten sandwich on the tray and empty the glass of juice, before turning my head and look at her.
“How long has he been out?” I ask her, I know I was out for a day, and has he been out as long?
“He has been awake from time to time, he where down the night you came in and stayed with you, then in the morning he went to take a shower and Cannon found him in here unconscious on the bathroom floor!” she says and then it means he hasn’t been out more than a couple off hours.
“Come! The bath is almost ready!” she says and takes my empty glass and places it on the tray before she grabs my arm and starts to help me over to the bathroom.
Walking slowly inside the bathroom and over to the tube, she helps me get the shirt off me!
“I will get you a new one from his closet!” she says when she helps me get inside. the tube after I have tossed my underwear on the floor.
Letting my body sink slowly in the water, it’s hardly warm and it’s perfect, I know I wouldn’t be able to stand some hot water right now.

“Fine for now!” I say when she places her hand in mine.
“Hang in there! I haven’t seen any improvement yet on him but let’s hope it turns soon” she says and there isn’t anything else to do.
The water starts to feel cold and I want to get back to him, pulling the plug I rise from the tube and she hands me a towel. Wrapping it around my body I get out and take another to dry my hair.
“Here is the shirt!” she says and hands it to me, taking it to my nose I sniff at it and it’s his smell. Pulling it over my head it reaches down to my thighs.
“I don’t have any new underwear I will wash the old ones, I’m sorry,” Emma says. and sound troubled.
“I don’t care about the underwear can be without,” I say and start to head out of the bathroom and over to the bed, almost reaching the bed when another wave hits my body and I have to hold on to the bedpost for a moment.

“It’s alright Emma! Leave me with him and I will let you know if it gets too hard!” I say when I hear her sigh.
“I wish I could do more for you! I’ll be close by if there is anything” she says and takes her hand away.
“Thank you, Emma!” I say to her when I hear her take the tray with her and walk out of the room.

Selena POV:
Looking into his eyes for the longest moment when a sob leaves my lips.
