Chapter 121
Selena POV:
Looking at him I have to ask him when he traces his hand down my neck.
“You don’t like vampires?” I ask when he looks at me for a long moment.
After what they did to you how could I ever! But not all vampires are bad!” he says and I have other questions for him when my office phone starts to ring. Turning to it Kian is faster and picks it up. my father was going to call back!” he says and takes the phone and answers. I hear them talk for a moment and get up on my feet, I have so many questions I want to ask him but I guess it has to wait when I hear them talk about Kian should get over there right away.
When he is done, he hangs up the phone and starts to eat his food, I bet it’s cold by now!
“You are leaving today?” I ask when he looks up from his plate and gets eye contact with me.
“Yes, it’s better if I get over there as fast as possible, I want it over with and we can decide what to do after!” he says and I have a bad feeling about it all.
“Are you sure you need to go?” I ask him and walk over to my desk again. He is done eating and places everything back on the tray before sitting back in his seat.
“If there are bigger problems than we know of with the vampires, they might have to come down and help to solve this problem,” he says and he might be right but I don’t like the feeling of him being gone for more than a day.
“You can portal me over there and it will go faster!” he says and stands up, is he planning to go this minute?
“Yes of course, but you plan to go there right now?” I have to ask him when he starts to walk over to where I am.
He comes in front of me and wraps me up in a tight hug and I place my arms. around his waist, holding him tight to me.
“I have to go back and pack a bag before going there and we have to make sure you have enough men here to help protect the pack if you need it!” he says and releases me from his arms. I sigh and have to be okay with it.
“let’s go down and talk to the others!” I say when he walks over and picks up the tray before we start to head out the door, going down the stairs in silence I have a lot of questions for him but now is not the time to have the discussion.
Reaching the first floor we head over to the kitchen where they have a heated discussion about something and once, we walk inside they all fall silent.
“What’s wrong?” I ask them when they all look everywhere else than at us, no one says a word. Walking further inside I stop beside the kitchen table and look between them all.
“Jessie speak!” I tell her, I know if anyone is going to tell me what’s going on is going to be her! She takes a moment before she raises her head and looks at me.
“Some of us want to go inside the cave and find out what’s on the other side!” she says and that had to be the stupidest thing I have ever heard!
“That is not going to happen! We have no idea what’s waiting for us on the other side and I will not risk anyone of you running right into their camp or getting caught by a bunch of rogues and vampires! Have I made myself clear?” I say to them and look between them all. I know Jessie is not the most patient person and I can guess Cannon is somewhat the same.
No one says a word when Kian walks over and stands beside me after he has placed the tray down.
“I will be going to the vampire council and having a talk with our contact! No one goes near the cave or try to take on the rogues or vampires outside these borders while I am away, is that clear!” he says with dominance in his voice and I know he won’t hesitate to use his Alpha King command if needed.
Seeing them keep their heads down but it takes a long moment before Jessie throws her hands up in the air!
“Fine, I will be sitting inside these borders and grow extra juicy for the vamps to eat once they get a hold of me!” she says in anger and I knew she was one of them who wanted to go.
“You know what Jessie! I suggest you take your frustration and help to protect
Selena and the pack when she needs to go training with Michael! Instead of sitting here and focusing on what’s behind the cave” Kian says and leans forward on the table while looking sternly at her.
Jessie pushes her chair back and gets up on her feet in anger and I know she is more than frustrated right now.
“You can be sure that’s exactly what I’m going to do but I hate to feel like a sitting duck just waiting to be found and eaten by a vamp!” she spits and takes her plate and walks over to the sink. Kian is about to go after her but I place my hand on his arm and shake my head no at him when he turns his head and looks at me.
When Jessie is this way it’s better to let her be and cool down before trying to talk to her again, he gets my point and stays where he is. Hearing her wash her plate before she starts to head out of the kitchen!
“I will be outside and check the borders!” she says and leaves the kitchen with determined steps.
“I’m going after her!” Declan says and gets up on his feet before heading out of the kitchen and walking after her.
“Do we have a problem here!” Kian says and looks at the others by the table.
“No, we don’t!” Cannon says and pull Emma closer to him.
“I have to go to the vampire council and I count on you to handle the situation here. while I am away!” Kian says when Emma turns her head and looks at him with a troubled expression on her face.
Chapter 122
Selena POV:
Looking at Emma for a moment she turns her head and looks at me, I guess she felt my eyes on her.
“Something wrong?” I mind link her when she averts her eyes.
“No nothing! Just don’t like him going away!” she mind links back and I decide to talk to her once we are alone.
“Cannon a word with you and Declan before I go!” I hear Kian say before he heads out the door and leaves us alone inside the kitchen. Zoey gets up with her plate and heads over to the sink while I take a seat beside Emma at the table, she turns her head and looks at me.
“Promise there isn’t anything you need to worry about, I just don’t like him being away from you!” she says and I take a long look at her, not sure I’m convinced but I know she will tell me if there is anything I need to know
“Michael called before and wondered if you are coming to train tomorrow?” she says and picks up her plate and walks over to wash it.
“Yes, I will go! Any time he wanted me to be there?” I ask her and turn to look at them.
“I can give him a call later and ask!” she says when Zoey walks over and stand beside the table.
“What do you want me to do?” she asks and as of now It’s better if she watches the borders.
“Check with Jacob and the borders until I am back!” I say and get up from my seat before we both start to head out from the kitchen.
“How do you feel about everything?” she ask me when we come to the hallway and I guess she told her to.
“I’m fine right now, doesn’t feel anything yet!” I say when we reach the door and open it. Seeing Kian standing outside and talking to Declan and Cannon we head over to the borders to find Jessie.
“If there is anything I’m here for you!” I know she is.
“I’m grateful for it!” We both spot Jessie by the side with Jacob standing and talking, I know even before we have reached over there how frustrated Jessie is.
“Talk to me Jessie what is it!” I say to her when we have reached to where they stand, she turns around and looks at us.
I’m tired of these f*cking rogues thinking they can do whatever they want!” she says and places her hands on get hips.
“Once we know more we will do something about them but as for now I’m not ready to risk anyone of your lives so stay inside the barrier!” she looks at me with an angry face before she throws her hand up in the air in surrender.
“Fine!” she says and I turn my head and look at Zoey, I know she thinks the same as me and will keep an extra eye on Jessie while I’m gone.
Hearing footsteps from behind when Kian and the others come walking over to where we stand he wraps his arms around me and pulls me close to him.
“I’m ready to go!” he says and I sigh a part of me doesn’t want him to leave me!
“Alright!” I say and open a portal behind us, he holds his arm around my waist when we head inside the portal and walk out into his bedroom.
He let go of me and head over to his closet, sitting down on the bed I have a bad feeling about him going but it can be that I’m only anxious and nothing worse will happen. Hearing him walking around in there for a long moment before he comes out in a black suit, looking way too handsome for his own good.
I can’t peel my eyes from him when my eyes travel up his body and I see a big smirk on his lips before he makes his way over to where I sit.
“Keep looking at me that way and I might change my mind and stay here with you!” he says and pull me up from the bed and holds my cheek with his hand before his lips come down and capture mine in a heated kiss.
“I won’t be gone longer than a day or two before I’m back!” he says to my lips before pecking them. I don’t know what to say when he lets me go and head over you the bathroom.
“I have told Decland and Cannon to have guards inside your borders while I’m away and there will be coming more of my guards if it’s necessary. No one should walk outside the barrier at the moment and we need to make sure everyone knows to stay inside!” Kian says from the bathroom before he comes out and heads over to his closet.
Right now, I’m starting to feel the same as Jessie, a sitting duck inside our barrier. Hate to not knowing what’s going on outside!
Hearing him come out of his closet and place a bag down beside me before he hooks a finger under my jaw.
“Now I don’t want to know you have been outside the barrier or trying to go. looking for the rogues. I want to hear you promise to not do anything risky while I’m away, is that clear!” he says and looks sternly at me.
“Yes!” I say and sigh in defeat.
“No! You have to promise and make sure to keep your word this time, you will be in a bigger problem than the rogues if I find out you have gone against your word!” he says and I know I haven’t kept my word before to him but this one I will hold.
“Yes, I promise and I will keep my word!” I say when he leans down and pecks my lips.
“For your own sake, I hope you keep your promise! Now I’m ready to go!” he says and wraps me up in a hug. Sighing at the fact he will be going.
“Alright think of the place and I will take you there!” I say when he lets go of me.
“It’s only a day or two then I’ll be back!” he says before I give him a nod and takes his hand. Finding the place he thinks of I open a portal and look at him when he takes his bag and gets inside, taking one last look at him when he walks through before closing it after him.
Standing in his bedroom and feeling lovely, hope he is right and he will be back with me again soon!
Chapter 123
Selena POV:
Hearing the door open to my room I’m too tired to open my eyes, just want to sleep for the whole day.
“Selena it’s time you wake up, Michael will be waiting for you soon!” I hear Emma say when she walks inside the room and takes a seat on the bed.
“No! I’m tired today, can’t I have a day off?” I sigh when she pulls the quilt off me.
“No! You have to get up! Breakfast will be ready in a moment and I suggest you take a shower and come down to the kitchen!” she pulls the quilt off me completely and the cold air on my warm skin gives me goosebumps.
“One day off is all I ask, I’m deathly tired,” I say with a yawn and sit up in the bed.
“Now go and take a shower! Heard anything about when he will be back?” Kian has been away for a lot more days than he thought, right now there have been five days away from him and even if we have talked on the phone, I’m still worried about him. They have found several things they are trying to get under control but that’s all he has told me. I have been focusing on training and keeping my pack inside the barrier.
Jessie is like a boiling kettle ready to boil over any second and when she does there will be hard to keep her inside, I’m afraid she might do something we all will regret. I have been taking her with me every day I have been going to Michael, it’s the best chance for me to have control of what she does most of the time.
“No, I haven’t, he will call again tonight!” I have been exhausted with the training and I haven’t had the energy to mind link with him when he has been so far away.
“Alright! Now get to the shower!” she says and gets up from the bed before she starts to pull on my arm
“I’m going!” I say and place my feet on the cold floor before getting up from the bed. I better be up and make sure everyone does what they suppose to than laying in bed even if I rather had done it.
“Good! I’ll be downstairs once you are done!” she says and starts to head towards the door, I walk over to the bathroom and do my business before turning on the shower. Tossing my shirt in the wash bin I head over to the shower and get inside, letting the warm water pour down my body before I take up the shampoo and wash my hair.
Rinsing it out I take the soap and wash my body when my hands reach to my breast pain instantly shoots out and I stop in my motions. Did I just feel that?
Water running down my body is the only thing I feel for a long moment before I take my hand back to touch my breast.
Both of them are sore and they feel a bit swollen, I hardly manage to keep a straight thought, what I have been pushing away from me for days has now caught up with me. I stand inside the shower for a long moment and try to wrap my head around this, I knew from the day they told me it will probably be true. Emma has never been wrong before, but I had to keep a distance from it before I knew for sure and now here I am with no way to push it from me any longer.
I’m pregnant!
The word pregnant gets stuck in my head and I take my hand down to my stomach and place it there. I’m carrying mine and Kian’s child how many are there inside my womb? I know I have to tell him once he comes home and I instantly get nervous to tell him all I know, only hope he will take it well.
Caressing my belly it’s a strange feeling to already know I love them and will do everything I can to protect them, they are a piece of me and Kian.
Feeling a mind link reaching out to me I know it’s Kian and take a moment to get my feelings under control before picking the link up.
“What’s wrong?” he says even before I have had a chance to say anything else. I guess he has felt my emotions somehow through the bond.
“Nothing! How is it going over there?” I ask him instead and try to have my emotions under control even if hearing his voice makes my heart take one extra beat in my chest.
“I know there is something! I feel some strange feelings through the bond!” he says and I have to be better and make sure to shield my emotions until he comes back from the council, then we will have a long talk.
“I just miss you terribly!” I say through the mind link and turn off the shower, my sop from my body has been washed off a long time ago.
“Are you sure that’s all?” he says and I take a towel and wrap it around me when I have got out of the shower.
“Yes that’s all, have to go to Michael soon! When are you coming back?” I say and have to end it soon before my energy gets drained.
“I’m not sure yet! I will call you later!” he says and I head out to my room.
“Alright! Talk to you later!” I say and cut the link. It’s better to talk on the phone later. Walking inside my closet I take down some clothes from the shelf and put them on, sipping up my pants I wonder how long I’m going to be able and wear my clothes before I have to buy new ones with room for a growing belly.
Getting out of my closet I stop in my track when a thought hit me, the number of things we will have to buy for the children. I’m going to be a mother and how many children are there?
Taking my hand and reaching for the bedpost I hold on to it before I have to take a seat on the bed, placing my elbows on my knees and my head in my hands I have. to take a moment. Everything just hit me at once!
Making sure my walls are up tight so Kian can’t feel anything through the bond when I hear the door to my bedroom being opened and even before she says anything I know it’s Emma. She is silent when she comes over and takes a seat beside me on the bed, she places her arm around my shoulders.
“I can tell you I felt the same way once I found out I was pregnant with Ella! I was terrified and wondered if I ever was going to make it as a mother and at the same time I already loved her!” she says and I keep my head in my hands and take a deep breath.
“I just hope he will take it well once I tell him!” I say what my biggest fear right now .is.
Chapter 124
Selena POV:
Taking a deep breath, I raise my head from my hands and get up on my feet.
“Well let’s go down to the kitchen, I’m hungry!” I say when she gets up beside me and start to head for the door. She stops in front of it and turns to look at me.
“Whatever happens we are here for you!” she says and I already know they are.
“Yes, and I’m grateful for it! Now can we have some breakfast I’m starving!” I say when she chuckles and opens the door for us. Heading down to the kitchen I smell some delicious food and my stomach starts to rumble at the smell when I find Sari inside the kitchen and stirring in something on the stove.
“Morning Selena, feeling well?” she says when I make my way over to the counter and start to look around at all the food.
“Yes, it’s fine, just starving!” I say and take a plate and start to place food on it, as much as I can get on it and a bit more. I have a mountain of food on my plate before I’m satisfied!
Taking it I head over to the table and take a seat when the rest start to walk inside the kitchen.
Sari comes over and places a cup in front of me with the tea I have been drinking these last few days, I love it more for every day. I asked what it was and they only said it where good for a pregnancy and with the delicious taste I could drink it all the time.
The others start to come over to the table and take their seats with their own food, I have no time to think about it when Jessie takes a seat beside me.
“Eating for more than one?” comes Declan’s voice beside her and I stop with my fork in my hand with food on, before I put it in my mouth and turn my head to look at him when he sits down. Seeing Jessie gives him a push in his side he turns to look at her first before he looks at me.
“What? Is it still a secret?” he says and looks back at Jessie. Placing my fork down on my plate I sit back in my seat and look between them all.
“So, every one of you knows? And for how long have you known?” I ask and look between them! Seeing Cannon look down at his food and avoid my eye contact when Declan speaks up again.
they told us when you came back and decided to claim him and we all agreed it didn’t matter!” he says and I turn to look at him in shock. I thought only the women. knew and as of now the only one who doesn’t know is the father!
Dragging my hand through my hair this starts to feel like a mess I’m going to have a hard time explaining.
“Kian doesn’t know, none of us has said a word to him!” Declan says and now I just lost my appetite. Taking my cup of tea I start to sip on it in silence, I know Emma would have had the hardest time keeping it away from her mate and I can’t blame her.
“So, when are you going to tell him?” Declan continues and I take my time and sipping on my tea when Jacob comes walking inside the kitchen with fast steps and starts to take some food in a hurry.
“When he comes back!” I answer him while I look at Jacob when he is eating his food in a rush.
“What’s up, Jacob?” I ask him when he hasn’t even taken a seat but standing by the counter and eating. He turns his head and looks at me while swallowing.
“Rogues outside the borders again and I’m heading out again as fast as I can get. done!” he says when Jessie gets up on her feet, looking at her when she walks over to the sink and places her things down before she starts to walk out of the kitchen.
“Where do you think you are going?” I tell her when she stops in her tracks. I got some odd feelings by just looking at her body language, she has her walls tight up and I can’t get any feelings from her. By this I know she is up to something!
“Checking the borders!” she says and I’m not buying it at all.
“No, you are going with me to Michael’s, I’m almost ready to go!” I tell her and look. closely at her when I hear her sigh before she turns around.
“Can’t you take Zoey or someone else today!” she says and placing her hands on her hips and looking angry at me. Placing my cup down I know by the way she reacted that something is going on with her today.
“No! Get ready, we are leaving in a few minutes!” I say to her and take my plate and cup before getting up to wash them. Heading over to the sink I hear her curse under her breath while I wash my plate and put them down.
“Let me take the rest! Go over to Michael and hurry back!” Emma says and takes my cup from me.
“Thank you!” I say and turn around! I don’t see Jacob and Jessie when I hear someone talking in the hallway, starting to head over to there I walk out of the kitchen and see them talking by the front for in low voices. I can’t make out what they are talking about but something is going on with those two!
Walking closer to them they instantly stop talking and Jessie turns to look at me.
“What’s going on Jessie?” I say when Jacob rushes out of the door. She shrugs her shoulders.
“Nothing just talking about the borders and who’s on patrol until we are back! Ready to leave?” she says and I don’t believe her one bit. Keeping my eyes on her she doesn’t move a muscle.
“Zoey keeps a close watch on Jacob until I’m back, I got this feeling something is going on with him and Jessie today!” I Mind link Zoey once she picks up.
“I will! Hurry back!” she says before I cut the link and open a portal for us over to Michael. Jessie starts to head for the portal and whatever is going on with those two I will figure it out in one way or the other!
Chapter 125
Selena POV:
Stepping out on the other side of the portal I start to walk over to his house, Jessie takes a seat as usual outside on his lawn.
Getting to his front door I give it a knock before walking inside, he knows it’s me and there is no point in waiting for him to walk over and open the door.
“I’ve got some new tea ready for you!” I hear him say when I walk over to the kitchen and find him as usually standing inside and working with his herbs.
“Alright!” I say when he turns around and doesn’t give me a heads–up.
I instantly starts to pull on my energy, even how hard we are trying to practice I have a hard time with it, can’t seem to stop it!
When I take his energy it’s even worse, I don’t want to stop and that scares me more how good it feels to have his energy in my body! I crave it and the more I take the more I want it.
“Fight it, Selena! You can do it!” I hear him say and try to block him from taking more from me, but I have no chance to do it.
“I can’t!” I say to him and have to grab the table and hang on to it when he almost has me on my knees.
It takes a moment before he stops and I have to take several deep breaths before I can stand up again.
“This isn’t working! I can’t do it!” I say and walk over to a chair on shaky legs, I hate to feel this vulnerable and not stronger to be able and fight him.
Taking a seat at the table he walks over and places a cup down on the table in front of me.
I see him walk over to the counter before he comes back and takes a seat on the other side of the table with his cup.
“You have to keep practicing one day you will get a hang of it!” he says while I take a sip of my tea and sit back in my seat.
“Perhaps!” I say when I see him look at me for a long time before he smiles at me.
“Your feelings are all over the place today! Did you find out today?” he says and I already know what he is referring to.
Placing my cup down I take my time to answer him.
“Yes! And now I have to tell him.” I say when I see him sitting in silence for a long moment before his eyes become white and I know he gets a vision of something.
Sipping at my tea before he comes back and place his cup down.
“What is going on outside your pack!” he says and looks sternly at me, I have no idea about anything more than the rogues and the vampires are up to something.
“We have a problem with some rogues and vampires, they have been running around outside for days and we guess they are looking for our pack!” I tell him what I know, I see him sitting in silence and deep thought before he speaks up again.
“There is something else and I believe Jessie knows more about it!” he says and I turn my head to look out the window, I got the same feeling before they were up to something. Pushing my chair back I get up on my feet and start to walk out of the kitchen, it’s time she tells me what’s going on or I will force it out of her.
Heading over to his front door I push it open and walk outside only to find her p@ssing around on his lawn with an anxious look on her face, stopping in my track I look at her for a moment before she senses I am there. She stops in her place and slowly turns around to face me.
“Are you done!” she says and I get this feeling she is in a hurry to get back.
“Spill it!” I say with anger in my voice, now I know there is something and she better tell me the truth.
Seeing her averting her eyes and shifting weight on her legs, hearing Michael walk up behind me I wait for her to start talking.
“It’s nothing!” she shouts in an irritating voice, while I take several steps to get closer to her. She will tell me what she is up to.
“Either you tell me what’s going on or I will use my alpha command over you and we both know you won’t like it!” I say and feel how my anger rises in my body with every second p@ssing, it stirs up my gift in my body and without it being my intention it starts to seek out another energy to feed its need to become stronger.
It starts to draw energy from Michael and he stops it right away.
“Selena control your anger or you will be the one in problem here!” he says and I have to lay all my focus on trying to get my anger under control. Breathing deep I try to pull my gift back and have it to calm down in my veins, it pulls back slowly and lay sizzling under my skin, not calm but waiting.
Taking several deep breaths I focus back on Jessie and try to keep my anger in place.
“This is your last chance to tell me!” I say to her when I see her sigh in defeat, looking at her when she surrenders to me.
“Alright, I will tell you! We are tired of only sitting and waiting for whatever we are waiting for and Jacob and I decided to head outside to see what they are up to! He is going outside with some others while we are away to see if they can find out something without you knowing, I was supposed to be with them right now instead of sitting out here and doing nothing!” say says in anger and place her hand on her hips.
My anger instantly flares up again!
“That explains the fight I saw outside your borders!” I hear Michael say when my anger starts to take the best of me.
“You did what?! Every one of you has gone against my orders, I specifically told your all to stay inside the barrier!” I hardly get to finish when a mind link reaches out to me and I feel it’s Zoey! Opening it up and hear her worry in her voice.
“Jacob and some others are gone!” she says and I grab Jessie’s arm hard.
“I’m coming!” I say and cut the mind link before I open a portal in pure anger and pull Jessie inside with me. Hearing Michael trying to get me to wait, I am too angry to stay here any longer, I have to find Jacob and get them back!
Both of them have gone against my orders and put themselves in danger and the whole pack if they have exposed where they walk out from, and by doing so none. of the others inside the barrier are safe!
