Ch. 41..45: I Will Never Be Yours Chapter 41-45

Chapter 41 Selena pov.

When I came back to my pack yesterday I didn’t even know what day it was.

Or how long I had been gone.

I was so drained of energy, after all, I had done so when I portal us it took everything I had left just to get back.

Stepping out of the portal outside my pack I stumbled to get to the front door when Jessie came running and took my other arm.

She and Emma helped me get inside.

Getting up to my room I crashed on my bed and slept through the rest of the day and the whole night.

I just woke up when there is a knock on my door and Emma walked in.

Sitting up in my bed and she comes and takes a seat beside me.

"You're awake.How do you feel? We were so worried about you" she says and I hear sadness in her voice.

I will be fine, just give me a day or two and I will be back as usual.How do you feel? Finding your mate

"I have to ask." he was nothing I ever imagined and I'm shocked to be mated to a werewolf

I chuckle at her.

"Mabie he is exactly what you need," I say and wiggle my eyebrows at her.

Before I get up from the bed and head over to the shower. I hear her laugh when I turn on the water.

Stepping under and start washing my hair.

Rinsing out the shampoo from my hair I step out of the shower and dry myself on a towel.It starts to feel better now.

Just need some clothes and breakfast and I will be like a new person.

All the time I got dressed and ready she asked me questions about what happened when I was in the castle, I answered them all and when we got down to the kitchen Jessie was standing inside and making some breakfast.

Emma couldn't hold back the information so she spilled it all out to Jessie while I was enjoying my coffee.

I didn’t mind her telling Jessie everything, I would have told her myself anyway.

Just sitting there and sipped on my coffee, looking at them both talking and laughing.I feel so blessed, I wouldn’t change it for anything.

This is my new home and family.I want my family to be a part of my life and meet my pack too, and I know just how I can make it happen in the future.

Just have to be patient until that day comes.I need to be free from Kian first, this few days only made me more certain I can’t forgive him for everything he has done.

“ That was some interesting days you have been on," Jessie says and smiles at me I give her a smile back "

Yeah you could say that

"they both laugh.I pour myself another cup of coffee and walk over to the counter and take a seat on the chair."

Can’t wait for you to find your mate, Then we can talk about it Jessie"I say to her

"I will never accept any mate! I don’t want one" Jessie says.

I know she is as reluctant to find her mate as Emmais, they have different reasons.But I can understand hers too.

She is a werry strong female warrior and the best beta I could ever have, we have been in this together from the start and she has also seen it up close how many have been hurt and rejected by their mates.

When I rescued her from her pack members and the alpha she swore to never let any man close to her again.

When she found her strength she have never stopped fighting for others.She quickly learned how to fight and she is one of the best warriors these days.She is a true beauty in her brown hair and hazel eyes, from the look of it you would think she is this sweet little woman until you get to know her and find out how headstrong and self-dependent she is.

It will be fun the day she finds her mate, I kind of feel sorry for him.

He is up for a challenge!

"The breakfast is ready," she says and we grab plates and dig in.

I put on scrambled eggs and toast, bacon on top, and some fruit.

My stomach starts to tumble just at the sight of my food.

"sit outside today?" I ask, the sun is up and I think it will be warm outside.

I love these mornings when it’s peaceful and quiet before everyone is up.

They follow me outside and we take our seats.

Sipping on my coffee and eating my breakfast.

"How long do you think we can keep this pack hidden now when we have two mates looking for us?"

Emma says and I take a bite of toast in my mouth, chewing slowly and thinking about it.

I already know Kian is searching for me and because his gamma is Emma's mate and he was the one who came here to search for me I'm guessing they won't give up.

"I just know they won't give up and you might have to think about what you want to do with your mate!"

Since she is a witch she feels the bond but not as strong as he does.

She deserves to be happy and I will support whatever decision she takes.

"I don't know Selena.All I know is that I won't be leaving this family and I'm never going to accept a mate if you're not accepting yours.We started this together and whatever happens, I'm staying " she says and I feel the same way as her.

We are a family here together and we have built the pack up from nothing, it will take a lot for anyone of us to give up on it. We sit for the rest in silence and just enjoy our morning.Chapter 42 Selena pov

After breakfast, I headed over to my office, needed to open my mail, and contact my work I guess they have been wondering where I have been these days.

Open my mailbox there are a lot of emails and I have work to do.

My office chat starts to beep the moment I am online.

"where have you been? Why aren’t you answering your phone?" Elijah message me instantly.

“ I was robbed and lost my phone the first day.I came back yesterday night so I haven't been able to contact anyone"

I lie to him and hope he will be fine with my answer.

"We contacted the company you visited, and they said you weren't available.But they were satisfied with your visit.Sounds like everything else went well"

If he only knew what happened, he wouldn't be saying that.

Well if they want to pretend everything is fine, then I can play that game too.

"Yes everything was fine.I need to buy a new phone on Monday! I am working from home today since it’s Friday I will be taking a short day.Is there anything I need to urgently handle today?" I ask him

"No we have taken care of everything when you were away, just relax and I will se you on Monday.Can’t wait to have you back.I Have missed you"

"Good ! then I will se you on Monday, missed you too" I answer him and quickly log out of the chat.

Don't want to talk to him right now.

Have no idea how I a going to handle meeting him on Monday.

After a few hours of work and I have gone through my inbox and finished everything I need to do there is a knock on my door and Jessie walks in.

"There are some things we need to handle in the pack"

She takes a seat and we start to go through it all.

The rest of the weekend goes by fast, there is a lot we had to do in the pack, and finally, I can relax a bit.

It's Sunday evening and tomorrow is work.

Heading down to look for Emma and I find her in the backyard as I expected, Jessie is there two and they are drinking a glass of wine.

"I guessed you would be here," I say

"Oh you are here! Perfect then I don’t have to go looking for you" Emma says

"You needed me for something?"

"no just wanted to chat with you!" She says and gives me a glass of wine.

We talk for a while and catch up on everything before I feel tired and have a lot to handle tomorrow.

"I better take an early night! " I tell them and get up, they know when I want to be left alone.

Heading up to my room I decide to take a bath and see if I can relax a bit.I pour myself a glass of wine when the tub is filled with water.

Taking off my clothes and getting in the hot water with my wine.I take a deep breath and relax back in the tube, sipping on my wine and trying to clear my mind.

After a little while, Emma comes walking in.

"what is it, Emma?" I ask her, seeing she has a frown on her face.

"do you think my mate is good?" She asks me and sits down at the sink.

Thinking about her question for a moment before I give her an answer.

"There is one thing I know about your mate.He would never let you come to any harm and he would easily take out anyone who would try and hurt you.That much I have picked up about him." I say and look at her, I see she is sad and has something more on her mind.

"Tell me what's bothering you!"

"I know he was the one who beat you up and almost had you killed in the prison.I didn't know he was my mate then.Would you be able to forgive him for it? I could never accept a mate if you didn't agree with him" she says and I give her a smile.

"you know what.Because I have seen what he can do and he won't hesitate to protect his family I know he would be the best mate for you! I have no problems with him but if he is ever going to come near you I'm going to make one or two things clear to him!" I say when she gets down from the sink and comes over to sit on the side of the bathtub.

"Thank you!" She says and takes my hand.

I squeeze it before she sighs and walks out of my bathroom leaving me alone again.I finish my wine and when the water starts to get cold I get out and dry myself before putting on my clothes.

Heading over to my bed I get under the covers and try to get some sleep.

The next day I was early as usual to work, taking my time and starting the day in front of my computer and going through everything I need to catch up on.

There was a box of chocolate on my desk when I came in today and I enjoy eating one to my coffee before I walk over to my door.I have some papers I have to place on my Secretary's desk.

Opening the door I run right into Elijah and his arm comes around to steady me.

"Why the rush?" He asks and I get free from him and place the papers down on her desk before I turn around again.

"I was just going to give my Secretary some papers" walking back into my office he follows behind me.

He closes the door and grabs my arm and turns me around.

"I was worried about you!" He says and drawing my body close to his and hugging me. I just stand there and don't know what to do.

Chapter 43 Selena pov

Giving him a quick hug before I break free and take a step back.

"I have a lot to do today and catch up on.Maybe we can talk later? " I say and hope he gets my point.

"Yes of course.Just wanted to let you know there is a meeting at eleven today.Everyone needs to attend!" He says

"Alright! Thank you" I say and wait for him to walk out of my office.

Sitting in my office at work trying to focus on what I need to do and catch up when there is a knock on my door and my secretary walks in and tells me the owners want to have a meeting right now.It sounds urgent so I get up from my chair and meet Elijah on the way over to the meeting room.

Walking inside we take seats next to each other.

When everyone is seated they start the meeting.

"An important customer is coming in on Friday, we need you all to be available that day.And someone needs to head over to have a meeting at our biggest account, Does anyone volunteer? The trip would take a couple of days"

Everyone is silent, not really looking forward to going on a business trip.

"No one wants to then we suggest you go, Elijah, you have met them before "

That would be good if he was away for a couple of days.

Right now I don't know how to handle him.

When the meeting ends I walk back to my office and try to concentrate on work when I feel someone trying to mind-link me.

Pulling on the link I open up and find it's Zoey who wants me something.

"Any problem?" I ask right away.

Knowing it's her on patrol right now with some of our warriors.

"There is some activity again by the cave!" She says.

"Coming or going?" I mindlink back.

"Five wolves rushed in there about five minutes ago.They came from the North side this time!"

She says and that feels strange.

The Northside isn't anything else but the king's borders and between our borders is just a lot of empty land with nothing else but forest.

I need to go for a run and check the forest out when I got the time.

"Keep checking around the cave and when I got some time at the weekend we have to take a patrol and search the forest all the way to the king's borders.Keep a patrol around our borders until I come back!"I tell her and she agrees.

Ending the link I sigh and take a moment to think about what she told me.

Deciding to pull up a map on my computer on the area and look at alternative routes for the rogues.

After some time and checking the map I don't see where they could be coming from.

There are no other packs close by in that direction.I will have to take some time and take a closer look.

Eating another chocolate while I try to make up my mind about what I want to do.

Rising from my chair and walk out of my office to find my boss.I need to take some time away from my office and work from home instead.

It will give me some time to handle the pack and look for the rogues.

Finding my boss in a telephone meeting I wait outside until he is done.

It doesn't take long and when I see he is free I walk inside and ask if I can work from home for the next two weeks.

He had no objections to it as long as I waited until after the meeting on Friday.

We have a chat for a moment before I walk back to the office and continue with my work I will have the time to check the forest at this weekend and decide what to do after with letting Kian know what's going on.

Somehow I have to figure out a way.

The rest of the day goes by in a blur with all the work I had to get on top off.

Gather my last papers before I leave work for today.

I didn't run into Elijah more today and I guess he had to go back early and start to pack his bags for his travel.

Coming down to the front desk I see Jessie standing and waiting for me.

"I thought I could wait for you today!" She says and we head out of the company entrance and walk behind the garage.

Out here there isn't anyone seeing us and I open a portal and we walk right out in front of the pack house.

I fill her in on what happened with the rogues today and what I plan to do.

We walk inside and discuss how it's best to handle it when the link opens up and Jacobs's voice comes through.

"something is going on outside the borders," he says

"Where are you? "

I mind linking back

"At the south borders"

I cut the mindlink and quickly get out of my dress and we shift.

Running for the borders I se Jacob standing with five of my warriors.

Zoey is one of them.

When I reach them I shift back and they hand me a shirt and shorts.

"What’s the problem?" I ask

“There have been several wolves running around outside the borders"

Jacob answers I look in the direction he is pointing and soon I see four wolves coming out in the clearing.I walk closer to them inside the barrier where they can’t see me.

Sniffing in the air I can soon rule out that they are not rogues.

They run around our borders not wanting to get too close to what they think is a swamp.

After a little while, they have had enough and start to run back.

"What do you think they were looking for," Jacob asks

"I don’t know, it looked like they were done looking for whatever it was"

Thought to myself it could have been the king asking a nearby pack looking at the address I gave them to this pack.I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the case.He knows where I work but nothing else.

"Just make sure to double the watch until we know more, and check the surroundings before anyone leaves or comes in"

I don’t want the pack or the place to be exposed yet if we can avoid it.

"Yes we will," he says and I walk away and take off my clothes folding them before I shift.

I need to check where they went, I don't like to leave it not knowing.

Jacob mindlink me and asks if he should come and I tell him I better do this alone.

It’s easier for me to do something if I am alone and quickly get away I can easily portal back. he understands and I cut the mindlink and start to run after them.

Chapter 44 Selena pov

The next couple of days went by without anything happening.

When I followed the wolves I found out there are from a pack nearby and I guessed they might be on a search for my pack.

We don’t know why they were over her and what they were looking for, I'm just guessing Kian might have something to do with it.I put my warriors on high alert until we find out more.

Sitting at my office and working trying to focus on what I need to do before I leave work tomorrow, two weeks, and working from home is something I'm looking forward to.

Turning off my computer late on Thursday evening I sit back in my seat and take a deep breath.

I have managed to get everything done and right now all I need to come in for tomorrow is the meeting with the new important client.

It's not often our bosses demand us all to be in a meeting with them and I can only guess it's a wealthy client.

I get out of my office and walk over to the elevator, everyone has gone home for today and there are only some cleaners working.I portal myself home the moment I come outside the building and I am sure no one sees me.

Coming home to the pack house I get right up to my room, just want to take a shower and put on some comfortable clothes before I get something to eat.

Getting out of the shower I feel good and relaxed.

Heading down to the kitchen I find Sari inside, we haven't had time to talk alone for what feels like ages, and just when I am about to ask her how it is her phone start to ring.

Walking over to the fridge I find some leftovers and start heating them up while I wait for her to come back.

It doesn't take too long before she is back and I see she is troubled

"what's wrong?" I ask her while I start eating my meal

"it was my sister and some men and sons have disappeared from their homes.She's afraid something is going to happen and I have to go there!" She says and I stop eating and look at her.

"I'm coming with you! I just need to be at the office tomorrow and we can go right after" I tell her and sit back in my seat.

"my sister is on her way back from a travel and when she is back we can go," she says and I see her walk over to the stove and stir in a pot.

"Can you make some extra potions to mask our scent, I want to go for a look at the surroundings when we are there!" I say and start eating again.

"I will get right on it she says and heads over to the garden after she turns the heat on the stove down.I eat my meal by myself and stir in the pot from time to time.When I'm done and Sari comes inside the kitchen again I wash my plate and head up to my room.I need a good night's sleep and I will take an early run in the morning and check outside our barrier before going to work tomorrow. In the early morning, I was up and went for a run before I took a shower and started to get ready for my day.

Walking over to my closet I decided to take a dark blue dress that fits my body perfectly, showing off my curves and making my blue eyes pop.

I curl my hair and pull my fingers through it, leaving it to wave down my back, pull back some hair from my face, and fasten them to some hair clips back of my head.

I put some light makeup on and before I leave my room I take on some high heels.

Feeling strong and confident I walk out of my room and head down.I hear someone whistling at me and when I look down It's Emma.

Why am I not surprised?

“good dammit Selena who are you going to seduce today" she wiggles her eyebrows at me and I just roll my eyes at her.

"absolutely no one! I just woke up today and feel like a new person.Strong and happy"

"been dreaming of someone special" she laughs at herself, and I don’t want to listen to her dirty mind right now so I walk past her and head for the kitchen to grab something to eat before I'm going over to work.

She follows behind me and I grab a cup of coffee and a toast.

Sitting down behind the counter she walks over and grabs a cup of coffee herself before she takes a seat beside me.

I take a sip of my coffee and mindlink Jessie to come to the kitchen right away, it only takes a minute before she walks in with a messy hair and pajamas on.

"no work or training today? " I have to ask her since it's unusual she isn't up already.

"I have taken some time off from work and one of the new girls is heading to work with Zoey instead of me," she says

"Some of the orders will be delivered today, have some scouts out all the time.And check around the borders before you start to move it" I tell her and rise from my seat.

"Yes we will," she says and takes a seat by the counter with Emma.

I walk over and rinse my cup, I have this feeling something will happen today.I am not sure if it is something good or bad, just a feeling I can’t get rid of.

Whatever it is we need to be prepared.

"Just be careful today!" I say and leave them in the kitchen while I walk out of the kitchen and head over to work.

Chapter 45 Selena pov

Walking out of my portal in a dark alley behind work, the feeling is only getting stronger and my wolf is constantly passing around in my head making me even more on edge.

Reaching my office I am the first one again at work.

Looking around before I open my door and walk inside, closing it behind me.

I start to go through everything I need to do before the meeting, they only said it would be around lunch today.

After a little while, my secretary walks in.

"The meeting is set to 11 today," she says and waits for my answer.

"Alright! I will be ready " I tell her and she walks back out of my Office.

The hours go by slowly and my feeling only increases.

Something is definitely up.

Walking over to my bathroom, I wash my hands and put a wet towel on my neck, just to try and calm down.

It doesn’t help much and before I can calm down any further my secretary knocks on my door and walk inside.

“The meeting is about to start," she says

"I will be right there" I answer before looking at myself in the mirror I take a deep breath and try to relax.

I can do this! Walking out I grab my tablet and start to head out of my office.

My legs start to feel like jelly and when I am about to reach the door to the meeting room my wolf puts her head up and her ear is pointing right up, she is on high alert for some reason.

Before I open the door I get a sniff of a mouth-watering scent.

Instantly stopping in my track, a shiver runs down my back! I know who is in the meeting room and I have no intention to meet him.I slowly start to walk backward.

Need to get away! I just make it a few steps before I hit a wall.

"Going somewhere" I recognize that voice.

Slowly turning around I am staring right into the eyes of his beta.He just stands there with a smirk on his lips.I try to walk away when I se his eyes glance over and I know he is mind-linking someone.I’m guessing my mate.

He steps in front of me blocking my way and takes his arm around my waist and pulls me towards the meeting door.

When he opens the door I am hit with his intoxic scent almost making my legs go out under me but he tightens his grip on my waist keeping me steady.

"Smelling something you like" he whispers in my ear before he pushes me inside the meeting room, and I come stumbling inside.

My eyes are immediately drawn to him.

He is sitting in the room as if he owns it, his is bigger and bulkier than everyone in the room.

You can see his muscles under his dark grey suit, his masculine jaw, and piercing eyes looking straight at me.He is taking in my whole body and I feel small] and naked in front of his eyes.

I can’t avert my eyes away from him, he is absolutely gorgeous.I need to put up a barrier to my wolf.

Can’t have her messing with my head right now.

When I do Kian's eyes become pitch black for a second and I know his wolf is pissed off and want to take control.

I am lost at just looking at him when I feel an arm around my waist and someone is starting to pull me to my seat. I take my eyes away from my mate and look who it is, just to find it is Elijah.

I hear a low warning growl and I know it's my mate and he is not happy someone else is touching me.

If you are not a wolf you wouldn’t hear it.

I don’t dare to look at him again, I don’t want to reveal my relationship with Elijah.

He helps me take a seat and he sits beside me leaning closer to me he whispers in my ear.

"Don’t worry I guess he is not as intimidated as he looks" He says to me.

He thinks I am scared of him.

I hear another warning growl and I know he is furious.

I don’t dare to look at him again just to earn myself another warning growl before I hear him bark out

“I only want her the rest can leave"

My head snapped up to meet his eyes looking straight at me.

I turn my head to my bosses "I already have a lot to handle right now, I am not sure if I have time for another big account.Maybe someone else can take it"

I am not lying, there is a lot on my table but my main reason is not that.I just don’t want anything to do with him.

"I won't be accepting anyone else" he booms out and why am I not surprised to hear him say that? I gulp and fear what my bosses will say before they say it.

"We will help you with your other accounts, just let us know what you need." they say and I feel how my hands start to sweat.

“ Yes" is all I manage to say.I feel my anger rising in my body.

I knew he was going to get his revenge on me! But I never thought he would actually come here himself and pester my life.What is his plan now?

"Everyone else besides Selena can leave," my boss says and everyone gets up from their seats.

I look at my bosses and feel defeated.

Elijah puts his hand on my shoulder I know he wants to ensure me it will be okay. I look up at him and get eye contact with him just for a second when I hear a low growl and a chair being dragged out with force.
