Chapter 81
Selena POV:
Hearing his husky voice beside me year jolts me upright and I lose my balance in the tube when I suddenly find my head under the water and my legs up in the air. Before his arms come down and drag me up. Hearing him chuckle at me and I want nothing more than teleport away from here!

Kian POV:

“They are here for you! I have talked to them and told them everything I have done to you and where you have been all this time! I’m sorry love for everything! Wrapping her up in my arms I feel her place her arms around my waist.
We stand there in silence before I push her from me, it’s better if she goes inside and meets them than stand here with me.
“Go inside! I’m in my office if you want to find me.” After opening the door I push her inside and close the door after her. Don’t wait and hear her answer but head over to my office instead. We have a lot to handle to try and get on top of all these documents.
Pushing my door open to my office I find my father and his beta and g*mma inside the room, fully occupied with the documents. Several papers are pinned to my walls and different piles of papers are all around the table and chairs. Do they have any idea where it all is or have they managed to mix it all up?
Stopping inside the room I shove the door closed and it has them to raise their heads and look at me.
“Is there any order to all this mess?” I say and point around the room. Seeing them look around I have no idea even where to begin.
“Yes, we have! A paper is placed on all the piles with what we have found in that pile we have been going through. All these piles we haven’t looked at yet and the papers on the wall are the most important papers from the piles, including our side notes!” my father says and I look around the room. It will take ages to get this sorted properly!
We need more help inside here!
“Have you reached anyone of the packs while I was away?” I ask them and walk inside to the table and take a seat.
“We have managed to get a hold of one of the packs and the only problem they have had is missing pack members! We are going through the pile from the area and see if we can find any information about it here from the notes!” my father says and points to a pile.
It’s better to dive right into it! Take some of the notes and start to look them over thoroughly.
We sit inside here for several hours and go over the one pile only to find more alarming things and it’s urgent to go there.
When we have got through what we can tonight the others leave my office and I head over to give the Alpha a call and let him know what we have found out.
It takes a long moment and tries to sort it with him when I hear my office door open and Selens comes walking inside. She has a big smile on her lips, her cheeks are red and I guess she has been crying a bit. Waving her over to me with my fingers while I try to finish the call quickly.
When she reaches over to me I drag her down in my lap while I end the call and place the phone down.
“How was it?” I ask her and place her hair behind her ear, wanting to see her whole face.
“It was great to see them again. Thank you for bringing them here!” she says and I pull her closer to me and place her head on my shoulder, she looks exhausted.
“It was the least I could do!” I say when she starts to drag a file closer to her.
“What’s this?” she says and looks at what file she is pulling at.
“Open it and see for yourself!” I tell her and sit back in my seat when she leans forward and opens her file. The pictured I have of her and where I have had my men to look for her. Every rapport from my search team. She sits in silence for a long moment and looks at it.
“Open the last drawer on your side!” I tell her and she puts the file down and opens the drawer where everything she has on her the day she shifted on the run under my command.
“You saved these?” she says and turns to look at me. Taking my hand up to her cheek and pull away some hair before tracing my hand down her cheek.
“I couldn’t get rid of them! I tried to look for you but you left without a trace. I knew what I did to you was wrong and I believe I would have acted differently if it wasn’t so close to their burial and I was drunk! You didn’t deserve to be mated to me and what I have put you through. They are a reminder to me of how badly I have screwed this up!” I honestly tell her what I feel.
She places her things down in the drawer with the file and closes it before she turns and looks at me.
“Then we are going to keep them! It’s perfect to take out when I want something from you. I can just take them out and you will do anything for me!” she says and winks at me and I chuckle at her.
“You don’t need them. I will do anything you ask of me anyway!” I say and peck her lips.
“Then take me up to bed! I’m tired and want to snuggle!” she says and smiles big at me. Like I would ever be able and say no to that.
Chuckle at her while I stand up with her in my arms.
“You don’t have to tell me twice!” I say and start to walk out of my office with her.
Chapter 83
Selena POV:
Waking up the next morning and feeling hot. Tossing the quilt of me when his arm comes around my waist and pulls me flat against him.
Feeling a mind link trying to reach out to me I pull at it and feel Cannon on the other side trying to contact me. Opening the link up.
“I think you should get here!” he says right away.
“Alright, I’m coming in a bit!” I tell him and cut the link. Reaching out to Jessie and letting her know I will be going back home. She is quick to pick the link up and wants to come with me.
Turning my head and looking over my shoulder when I’m done mind linking I see Kian looking down at me.
“You need to go!” he says and has already guessed what’s going on.
“Yes, Cannon wanted me to come right away!” I say and get out of the bed. Placing my feet down on the cold floor while reaching for my bag and taking out some clothes.
“Do you want me to come along with you!” he says and I take a second to think about it.
“It’s better if you try and go over as much paper as you can. I will come back and help you when I’m done in my pack!” I say and pull some pants on before changing my shirt when he walks up from behind and wraps his arms around me.
“As long as you come back and don’t run off somewhere else again, I can let you leave!” he says and turn me around in his arms. He looks sternly at me and a part of me wants to tease with him a bit but I know he won’t let me go if I do.
“Promise!” I say and get up on my tippy toe and give him a quick peck on his lips.
“No that’s not enough!” he says and holds my head in a firm grip before leaning down and giving me a kiss that makes me weak in my knees. When he let me go, I have to catch my breath for a second.
“Now you may go!” he says and drop his hold on me. Turning around I grab my bag and place it to the side. I might as well keep it here; have a feeling it will be good to leave some clothes here.
“Let me know if there is anything urgent you find!” I tell him before opening a portal and getting inside.
Walking out on the other side and find Zoey standing outside our prison and waiting for me.
Searching for Jessie, I find her and open a portal for her to walk through.
When she comes walking out of the portal I smile wide at the sight. She looks like she has one rough night.
“So, you gave into the mate bond and from the look of it you had a nice time!” Zoey says and wiggles her eyebrows at her. I start to laugh at the way Jessie blushes.
“Yeah yeah! I had no other choice! He wouldn’t have let me leave otherwise!” she says and now Zoey starts to laugh.
“Like that would have stopped you!” I say and wink at her. I’m happy for them to complete the bond. I think he is a good guy.

“I never said anything else! I think it’s good you gave in to it. I only want you happy Jessie!” I say a turn around to walk into the prison instead.
I hear them both walk after me when I push the door open and find two of my guards standing inside the doors and further down the hall is a very bl**dy Cannon. I hear the other two men he brought with him standing and chatting in one of the cells.
Looking their way while we walk past and both of them look as bl***dy as Cannon!
Walking up to him he has a towel in his hands he tries to wipe off some blood from his hands. Looking around in the cells I see all the rogues we brought inside are unconscious and the bald guy and the other one Emma reacted against are laying in a pool of their own blood.
Without any doubt they are dead!
“What’s the problem?” I say to Cannon and turn my head to look at him.
“I’ve got some useful information out of all of them and we got a problem on our hands!” he says and toss the towel on a chair before he turns his head to look at me.
“What problem?” I say and wait for him to tell me what it is.
“They have found out Kian is mated to a powerful white wolf and you are their top target to get a hold on!” he says and I have to take a moment to think about it!
I know I have been revealing myself by taking out the rogues on the field and the one I run into by the cliff at his land. But how could they know he is mated to me? What are we missing?
“How could they know? We have only been here and in the castle. I trust my pack and my men! How could anyone else find out?” I ask out loud when I can’t put the pieces together. Cannon shakes his head and I understand he thinks the same as I do.
“That I couldn’t get out of them and I have no idea! We have to let Kian know and put out more guards around your borders. If they know about you it could mean they have found this place somehow!” he says while I think about it.
“I have this feeling we are missing something here!” I say and try to remember all the places we could have been seen together and there isn’t anything else. If they saw when he marked me to save my life then it would explain it but we took out all the rogues we saw there!
“We tried to get it out of them but none said a word more after! Kian needs to know” Cannon says and I know he is right. I have to let him know it.
“I will talk to him! I have to go and talk to Sari and Emma first before I can go back to him!” I say and start to turn around and look for Emma. I haven’t talked to her since the fight yesterday and we left it bad.
“There was something else!” Cannon says after me and I turn back to look at him.
“What do you want to do with the rogues!” he says and points to the dead once in the cells. I have seen enough of them!
“Do whatever you want with them!” I say and shrug my shoulders before turning and walking out of the door with Zoey behind me.
Chapter 84
Selena POV:
Walking out of the prison with Zoey behind me. Lost in my thought and trying to figure it out when she walks up beside me.
“I have tried to think of any possibility when they told him the information but I can’t figure it out when they could have known!” she says what I’m thinking.
“I just got this feeling we are missing something but I have to talk with Kian later and see if he can figure it out!” I say when we reach the pack house.
“She is in the kitchen! She has been in there and making potions the whole time, only took a few hours off to get some sleep!” Zoey says and by that information, I know Emma is upset. Coming inside the kitchen Emma is stirring in some pots when she turns around and sees us, she drops everything and rushes over to me when she throws herself around my neck and holding tight.
“I’m so sorry! I shouldn’t have argued with you that way!” she says and I hold her tighter to me.
“You are not alone in it! I shouldn’t have come at you the way I did! I’m sorry Emma!” I say to her and hope she can take my apology.
“Let’s get past it and move on instead. You are all the family I got and I would never leave you!” she says and let go of me
“I would never let you leave!” I say and give her a wink. She starts to smile at me.
“Come! I have made several potions for you while Sari is out and picking herbs” she says and starts to tug me with her.
“I came here to ask if you could make a lot more potion to mask the scent. Kia and his men need it!” I say and look at her when she stirs in the pot.
“How much are needed?” she asks and turns to look at me. I didn’t ask him how many were going over there and I can only guess there will be needed a lot.
“I would say as much you can make, I have a feeling it’s going to be needed soon. We are going behind the cave and searching for the rogues!” I tell her when Zoey walks up behind me.
“I’m coming with you!” she says and I guessed she would want to come, she has taken it upon herself to follow every trace around the cave for months.
“Of course, you can!” I tell her when Emma looks between us.
“Alright, then we have to make what we can! I will head out to look for Sari!” Emma says and starts to walk out of the kitchen.
“I have to check up on work. It has been too long since I had the time look even if I have the time off!” I tell her before starting to head up to my office.
“I will bring you some breakfast and coffee!” she says when I’m about to head out. from the kitchen. Remember I haven’t eaten anything yet
“Sounds good!” I say to her before I leave and make my way up the stairs. Opening the office door and head inside.
We need the money to the pack or I would have quit it a long time ago. It takes up to much of time I don’t have besides everything else I have to take care of in the pack.
I like the job and its good money but it’s not worth the stress!
Coming inside I turn on the computer and log in to my email. Seeing all the emails I have got I have to take a deep breath before starting to go through them. It takes me a long moment before I have managed to get some emails sorted when Zoey comes walking inside with a tray in her hands.
The smell of food has my stomach rumbling loud when she places it down on my office desk and takes herself a coop of coffee from the tray.
Picking up my own cup and taking a sandwich I sit back in my seat and start to eat.
“Much to do on your work?” she asks when I try to find some documents who is supposed to be attached in an email.
“Yes, and I’m missing some document that is supposed to be in an email. Afraid I have to make a quick visit to work later” I say and sip on my coffee while sitting back in my seat.
“How far did you come with the documents you found in the rogue house?” she takes a seat in a chair while I eat up my sandwich.
“It will take time before we have manages to get on top of it all! All the captured we
brought here, how are they doing?” I ask her, hoping some of them will start to feel some better with the proper care.
“Most of them have healed up in their body as much they can, but the
psychological scars will take a long time!” we already know this from everyone else we have helped through the years.
“Let me know what they want to do. I will help them get back to their homes if they have anywhere they want to go!” she gives me a nod when there is a knock on the door and Emma comes inside with a
potion in her hand.
“Here for your heat!” she says and walks over with it to me. She places it down in front of me on the desk and takes a seat on a chair. Reaching for the potion I take it in my hand while looking at it for a moment before I place it down on my desk again.
“You’re not going to take it? Does it mean you have decided to complete the bond?” Emma says with excitement in her voice.
“I’m going to think about it for a moment!” I say and take the last of my coffee before putting my cup back down on the tray.
I see Zoey’s eyes glance over and she is mind linking with someone. It takes a moment before she gets up and is about to head out the door.
“What’s wrong?” I ask her and get up on my feet.
“A scout has seen a lot of birds in an area! I’m heading over to check it!” she says and I start to walk after her.
“I’m coming with you!” I say and head out of the office. Have no time to talk more with Emma right now and follow after Zoey out of the pack house. She gets undressed on the porch and I do the same before we shift and start to run in the direction they were seen.
A lot of birds could mean something lies dead on the ground and they are there for the meat. Whatever it is that has them flocking over the area is alarming and we have to check it.
Running through our barrier it doesn’t take long inside the woods before we see what they have reported. A flock of birds is circling the sky.
Whatever we find over there I’m sure it’s going to be dead!
Chapter 85
Selena POV:
Running for a bit when Zoey’s mind links me.
“Going to the right first?”
“Yes, I’m right beside you!” I mind link back and cutting it when we start to head over to the right. Running for a moment when we come to a clearing and see two people standing there. Slowing down when I see who it is and shifting right before we reach over to where they stand.
“What are you two doing?” I say while walking up beside them to look at what they are looking at.
“Feeding the birds!” Jessie says all too eager in her voice and I understand what they have done. Looking at the clearing ahead of us there are several birds on the ground picking up small body parts. Turning my head back and looking at Cannon her has a satisfied smile on his lips and he has taken a shower and gotten all that blood off him.
“You couldn’t have told us first before we hurried over here?” I say and shake my head when Zoey comes walking up beside me.
“I don’t even want to know what you had to do to get the body parts to pieces!” I say when Jessie starts to chuckle beside Cannon.
“you two have completely lost it!” I say and point at them when we see a large bird take a chunk from the ground before lifting with it.
“Ah, nice one!” Zoey says and I turn my head to look at her in shock for a moment. She looks between me and the clearing a few times.
“What?! You can’t say it’s not satisfying when you know who lays there chopped up in small pieces to become birdsh*t!” she says with a serious look on her face. I can’t help but chuckle at her. Shaking my head at them when Jacob comes running up beside us.
“What are you doing here?” he says and Zoey and Jessie answer at the same time.
“Feeding the birds!” now I can’t help but laugh at their eagerness. Jacob gets it right away and starts to chat with Cannon.
Taking one last look at the clearing before I decide to head back and let them stay here. I don’t need to stay here and see it! I’m satisfied with the knowledge he won’t be taking another breath again and Ella’s worse nightmare is dead.
“I’m going back! Have a lot to do” I say and turn to walk away. They are all occupied with looking at the clearing when I leave them. Shifting I start to head back to the pack house and all the work I need to have done.
Running back alone I head right for the pack house and shift when I reach it. Picking up my clothes from the porch I take them on before heading inside and walking up to my office.
I hear Emma and Sari talking down in the kitchen before I reach the top of the stairs and walk into my office.
Leaving the door open when I walk over and take a seat in my office chair.
Seeing Emma has left the potion on my desk I take it up and look at it. Holding it in my hand when Emma comes walking inside and closing the door after her.
I know right away it’s something she wants to talk to me about.
Placing the potion back on my desk and lean back in my seat when I turn my head and look at her when she walks over and takes a seat in front of me.
She has a troubled expression on her face.
“What’s the problem?” I ask her when she doesn’t say anything.
“What did you find?” she says and I look at her close for a moment to see if she knows more than she should but I didn’t get that feeling.
“Only a dead animal! Nothing more” I say in a calm voice and don’t take my eyes from hers. She sighs and starts to squirm in her seat.
“Just tell me what is bothering you!” I say when she looks down at her lap.
“I miss Cannon!” she says and I smile at her. Happy she wants her mate.
“Do you want me to get him here?” I ask her knowing he already is here and done with what I brought him here to do.
“Yes! But I want something more from you!” she says and starts to fiddle with her fingers in her lap. Waiting for her to continue I keep my eyes on her. It takes a
moment for her to raise her eyes and look at me.
“I want you to talk to him! I saw what he did to you in the prison in my vision, and I don’t want there to be any hard feelings between you two before I can accept him. as a mate. You are my family and family always comes first!” she says and I can’t help but smile at her. If she only knew I hold nothing against him and because he did what he did when I was in their prison I asked him for help with the rogues. To me, he only did his job! But I can’t tell her all this.
“I have no hard feelings against him and you know he only did his job! The one who should be punished for this is Kian instead who ordered him” I say and give her a wink when she starts to laugh.
“I already think Kian is being punished enough!” she says between laughs and I join her for a moment. Her laughter is contagious. She stops after a while and looks at me with a serious expression.
“To me, it would feel better if you two talked and got it out of the way. I know he feels bad for beating up his Queen and Luna!” she says and I chuckle at the thought when she put it that way. I guess she is right tho!
“Alright, I will talk to him if it makes you feel better and get him here!” I say and see her take a deep breath and give me a big smile.
“Yes,” she says with the biggest smile and gets up on her feet. She starts to head over to the door before she stops and turns back to look at me.
“I’m glad to see you consider not taking the potion!” she says and gives me a wink before she opens the door and walks outside. Leaving me behind to chuckle at her.
Thinking about what she wanted me to do I have to think of something good. I want this to be over with if she feels it’s a big issue between them. I have no problems with him and what he was ordered to do!
But then again, if I’m going to get back at him somehow this is a great opportunity. Smiling at the thought when I got the best idea! Mind linking Jessie when she is fast and picking it up.
“I need your help with something!” I say through the mind link
“Yes! What can I do?” she mind links back.
“You are going to help me with a punishment for Cannon!” I say when I hear her laugh through the mind link.
“I’m all in for it!” she says and I can practically see her big smile right now.
Letting her know my plans she laughs hard when I cut the mind link and turn to my computer before printing some papers and place on my desk. I have to hurry up with the punishment before I head over to my work and get the papers I need. Knowing I have to get back to Kian and let him know the new information and help to go through the documents.
Turning off the computer I start to head out of my office and the nagging feeling is back that we are missing something!
Reaching the door, I turn to look back at my office desk. The potion is standing there and if I’m not taking it, I will go into heat soon.
I know he is sorry for what he did and giving me all the time, I need to accept him, but I’m done thinking about it! I want my mate! He will have a lot of time to make it up to me after.
