Chapter 101

Fraser finished preparing and leaned over Summer again, gently taking her carlobe between his lips. Summer's earlobe was small and soft, with a slight coolness to it. He gazed at the woman beneath him, his eyes burning with a dark, rising desire.

"You should trust your man's abilities." Fraser said.

Then, his strong presence completely enveloped Summer. A series of intimate sounds mingled with her soft, low moans filled the air. They ebbed and flowed, finally tinged with a frustrated cry.

Fraser's voice was husky. "Summer, say my name."

"Fra...ser." Summer replied.

Her voice trembled with emotion, sultry yet innocent, a stark contrast to her usual tone. It sent a dangerous glint into Fraser's eyes, his up and down.

bitching as it bobbed

"Good girl." Fraser was satisfied.

The night glowed like moonlight, spilling through the window and casting ambiguous shadows on the glass. Since Summer had just been discharged from the hospital, Fraser restrained himself to just once. But even that left her utterly spent, sprawled under the covers, drenched in sweat, too exhausted to lift a finger.

Fraser chuckled and said Summer was skinny but she claimed she wasn't, but her stamina was undeniably lacking. Resigned, he scooped her up from the bed and carried her to the bathroom for a rinse, then gently blow-dried her long, dark hair. When he was done, he held her close on the bed, pressing against her slender back, his arms possessively encircling her.

Summer's soft, dark hair was tied back, a few strands framing her face, her lips red against her white teeth. The warm, bright light from above bathed her, making her look gentle and radiant. She closed her eyes, savoring his attention, and let out a comfortable sigh.

From above, his low, husky voice broke the silence. "Summer, I'm heading to the Ameros for a business trip tomorrow."

She slowly opened her eyes. "How long?"

His tone was lazy. "A week."

Summer thought to herself, my birthday party is this weekend, meaning he wouldn't make it back in ti ra planned to bring Fraser to show the Stewart family that Trevor and I were truly over. Now, it seemed I'd have to face it alone. I could already picture Julia's smug reaction.

When Summer didn't respond, Fraser pinched her nose. "What's with the silence? Missing me already? I haven't even left yet. Guess you're pretty satisfied with my service."

Summer blushed. "I am not!"

Fraser's deep, possessive gaze trailed from her face, over her collarbone, and lingered on the softest part of her chest. "Alright, alright, you're not. I am," he teased.

Fraser left for his trip, and Summer threw herself back into work. She still had to outshine Jasper in next quarter's performance. Jasper was already cozying up to the shareholders, and word had reached her ears. The Stewart Group's shareholders, old-fashioned relics, looked down on Summer, the suddenly appointed director. They scorned her background, dismissing her as illegitimate despite her Stewart lineage, all because she'd returned after 20 years.

So, Jasper had the upper hand this time. Summer sighed, leaning back in her chair, feeling drained. Then she recalled Fraser's bold, arrogant words, "I'll give you the entire Stewart Group. How about that?" She hadn't dared take it seriously, but for a fleeting moment, it had touched her. A man willing to spend money on you was pretty cool.

With that thought, she unlocked her phone and saw a message from Fraser, sent 10 minutes ago, "Miss me?" She could picture his smug, handsome grin behind it. Smiling, she typed back, "Not really."

Her phone pinged with a photo.

"What is this picture for?" Fraser asked in WhatsApp.

It was her morning social media selfie. A silk nude-colored shirt, buttoned up tight,

with a simple smile. Fraser had seen it and sent it to her.

Summer thought to herself, Were all guys this direct?

Fraser, "Trying to seduce me?"

Summer, "Mr. Graham, you're overthinking it. It's just a normal selfie."

Fraser, "Wait till I get back. I'll deal with you then."

Summer couldn't help but grin. This man was something else. Just as she was

about to reply, her phone rang. It was Caleb.

Chapter 102

Birthday Invitations and Breakups

Summer picked up.

"Summer, it's my birthday today. You coming?" Caleb asked.

Finished

In past years, Trevor had always brought her to Caleb's parties. Beyond her tie to Trevor, Caleb was a decent friend. But Trevor would likely be there, and she didn't want to see him.

"Sorry, I'll pass. I'll send a gift someday later." Summer replied.

After a few seconds of silence, Caleb asked, "Summer, is there really no chance for you and Trevor?"

"Yeah, we're done." Summer replied.

Hearing the finality in her voice, Caleb silently mourned for his buddy. "Got it. You're not just Trevor's friend, you're mine too." Caleb said.

After hanging up, Summer transferred a thousand dollars as a present. As she was about to pocket her phone, Yvette's voice call came through.

"Babe, I've been dumped!"

Summer held the phone to her ear, glancing at the documents on her desk. "Alright, who's the guy this time?"

"Why are you so chill? I'm devastated!" Yvette asked.

It was rare to hear the usually carefree Yvette upset over a breakup. Summer set down her pen. "Wait, did you actually love him?"

"Love? No way. I'm just pissed I was dumb enough to date such a jerk. He's that model, Quicksilver, from the entertainment world. He cheated with my rival for a lead role. When I caught him, he held a press conference claiming I cheated! I'm furious. You have no idea, several endorsements and TV deals I was negotiating are on hold now!"

Summer hadn't checked the news yet. She opened her laptop and saw the headlines,

"Popular actress Yvette caught cheating by boyfriend."

"Yvette's background reflects her character."

"Yvette, get out of the entertainment industry."

Even as an outsider, Summer knew this was bad so she asked. "Can I help with anything?"

Yvette's voice deflated, continued to say. "I'll handle it. Just drink with me tonight."

At Havenbrook's biggest club, Black Ace, Summer arrived to find Yvette halfway through a bottle. Half- drunk, she muttered about how men were trash. Summer could only console her, knowing Yvette well, let her vent, and she'd bounce back by morning.

The VIP room door opened, revealing Trevor at the far end of the sofa. The space pulsed with colorful lights, loud music, and dancing. Expensive liquor bottles littered the tables. Yvette, still half-sober, spotted Trevor and sneered. Leaning into Summer's car, she whispered, "Don't worry, I've got you."

Summer thought, Who's protecting who?

Yvette's drunken antics were unpredictable.

Bobby saw Caleb usher them in. About to kiss the woman beside him, he paused. "Well, if it isn't the famous Ms. Stewart. Didn't she dump Trevor? What's this, using Caleb's birthday to crawl back?"

Trevor's dark eyes fixed on Summer, his cold face unreadable. Caleb shot Bobby a warning look. “She's my friend. I invited her."

Bobby, the spoiled heir of the Stone family, was a cocky brat, pampered by his aging father. He idolized Trevor and despised Summer for ending things, seeing her as fake.

"Invited? When Trevor ignored her before, she'd bug you for updates on him. Probably regretting it now and pulling the same stunt."

Yvette wasn't having it. "Did you eat garbage? Your words are stinking up the place. Reconciliation? Keep dreaming," she snapped, her tone sharp with a hint of drunkenness.

Chapter 103

"You're just a washed-up actress. Worry about yourself, your scandal's

everywhere. Some taste in men you've got," Bobby shot back.

"Even if I went for other guys, I wouldn't pick a creep like you." Yvette replied.

Bobby's temper flared, nobody talked to him like that.

But Trevor's cold glare cut in. "Keep talking, and you're out."

Bobby swallowed his rage and thought to himself. Actresses. Not even as curvy

as the chick in my arms.

He squeezed the woman beside him in frustration.

Caleb tried to ease the tension. "It's my birthday. Let's keep it fun."

Bobby thought, Fun, huh?

Bobby texted Peyton the club's location.

Summer and Yvette sat on one side, opposite of Trevor. Yvette drank to vent, the pricey liquor far better than what she'd had outside. Summer kept watch over her, occasionally glancing at the dance floor, avoiding Trevor entirely. Exes, especially ones who split so messily, were best left ignored. Yet she felt his intense, probing stare, making her uneasy.

After some drinks, the door swung open, and Peyton strutted in uninvited. She wore a lace-trimmed, deep V-neck mini dress, her innocent look clashing with the sexy outfit, like a provocative costume. A guy whistled as she entered. Ignoring it, she plopped down next to Trevor, sitting close.

Trevor frowned but stayed silent. He glanced at Summer, her fair face calm under the lights, her emotions unreadable.

Trevor thought to himself, She used to get jealous, now, she didn't even blink. Summer, have you really moved on?

Caleb scowled, he hadn't invited her. "What are you doing here?"

Peyton's voice was soft. "Caleb, it's your birthday. I came to celebrate." "Celebrate? Thanks, but you've seen me. You can go now." Caleb said. Bobby piped up. "Didn't you want it lively? More people, more fun."

Caleb glared, knowing Bobby was behind this. He looked at Trevor, who said nothing about Peyton staying.

Caleb thought, Fine, Trevor, you deserve losing Summer.

Yvette, tipsy, snorted. "Oh, look, the bitch's here."

The room hushed, some women stifling laughs. Peyton's face flushed. "Yvette, I

get that you're Summer's friend, but you don't have to insult me."

"Bring it. What's the game?" Yvette replied. Bobby eyed Yvette, her flushed skin and red lips alluring from the alcohol. "Winner picks the loser's punishment, strip or kiss someone. You in?"

Finished

Summer rolled her eyes. This was clearly rigged against women. She tried to stop Yvette, but the drunken star shrugged her off.

"Fine." Yvette said.

Summer groaned and thought, No more drinking with Yvette outside.

The game began, and somehow Summer got roped in. "I'll play too," Trevor said from the corner. Peyton, seeing him join, chirped, "Me too!"

The host dealt the cards. First round, a socialite lost, her face turned red. As the first punished, the group

went easy.

Chapter 104

letting her choose, kiss or strip. After hesitating, she shyly pointed to the guy beside her. He laughed, pulled her in, and planted a deep kiss, ignoring her protests,

Summer watched, heart racing, Glancing away, she caught Trevor's loaded stare and turned aside, annoyed. I don't want to strip, and there's no one here I'd kiss. Maybe I should slip out. But what about Yvette?

Then a voice rang out. "This time, Summer lost."

Her face stiffened. The winner, aware of her history with Trevor, avoided the strip option. "Summer, pick someone to kiss."

Yvette, sobering up, looked worried. She'd meant to punish the jerks, not get Summer caught.

She saw Trevor's smug grin. Is this a setup for her to go back to him?

"I'll take it for her," Yvette offered and thought to herself, Men are all the same anyway, kissing with eyes closed is just like acting.

Meanwhile, Peyton clenched her hands nervously when she heard that Summer's punishment was to find someone to kiss. Her goal tonight was to prevent any interaction between Trevor and Summer.

She hadn't expected Summer to be so cunning, deliberately losing the game to use this chance to get close to Trevor.

Peyton, nervous about Summer kissing Trevor, suggested, "Since Yvette's volunteering, maybe switch the punishment."

Bobby laughed, pushed the ladies beside him and said, "Fine, I'll let you kiss me."

Yvette shot him a disgusted look and thought to herself, I'd kiss anyone but you. Trevor's low voice cut in, sarcastic and dark. "Is this how casually you play?" Everyone in the room silenced, "

Caleb smirked, Trevor's desperation is showing.

The host pressed, "Rules say Ms. Stewart picks someone to kiss."

Summer glared at Trevor's smug face. You think I'll pick you? No way. She smiled. "Fine, I'll do it."

Yvette, who was sitting beside Summer, was worried. She shook her head frantically and wanted to send a message to Summer, No Summer, let's just surrender and leave.

But Summer turned, cupped her face, and kissed her lips. Yvette's eyes widened.

Summer pulled back, grinning. “That works, right?"

Chapter 105

Peyton had come in that dress to ditch her innocent image, hoping a drunk Trevor might fall for her allure. If she could hook up with him and get pregnant, she'd secure her spot as Mrs. Larson. But now, stripping before winning him over? She'd be ruined in Havenbrook.

Bobby grinned. "She's got one dress. She strips, she's naked. Where's Trevor's dignity then?"

Yvette scoffed. "Trevor's dignity? Trevor, what's your deal with Peyton?"

Trevor frowned, he had no ties to her but didn't want her humiliated publicly. Yvette mocked, "Dating? Say yes in front of Summer, and I'll let her off."

Summer thought, Why drag me in?

Peyton hoped Trevor would save her, tears welling up as she stared at him. He glanced at Summer's icy expression, lost for words.

Yvette pounced. "Not dating? Then strip."

Bobby protested, but Yvette snapped, "Summer took her punishment. Now it's Peyton's turn, and you complain?"

Silenced, the group watched. Trevor didn't intervene, and Peyton wasn't their priority.

Some guys even egged her on. "Yea, come one, strip!"

Peyton clutched her skirt, refusing.

Yvette was furious, "Bitch, you bullied Summer for so long, now it's my turn to protect her, don't you dare bully her again."

Before everyone reacted.

Yvette lunged, fueled by booze and fury, tearing the dress to shreds with practiced

ease.

Peyton collapsed, barely covered, sobbing, "Trevor, help me!"

Whistles erupted as everyone saw Peyton's white pearl-skinned body.

Trevor stood, draped his jacket over her, and silenced the room with a deadly glare.

Everyone in the room silenced.

Yvette, spent, slumped as the alcohol hit. Summer steadied her, saying to Caleb, "Happy birthday. Game's

over, we're out."

They left, but Yvette was fading fast. Summer got her to a sofa and was about to call for help when Trevor grabbed her wrist.

She shook him off. "Let go!"

Trevor looked worn. "I'm done with Peyton. If she bothers you, I'll cut her off"

"Oh, that jacket move was real friendly," Summer snapped.

His fists clenched, knuckles white. "It was just as a friend. I swear, last time." "So? It's got nothing to do with me," she said, impatient to get Yvette home.

Trevor's eyes reddened, his voice hoarse with a rare plea. "Summer, come back to me. I was too arrogant, I didn't cherish you, I always thought you'd stay. Can you give me one more chance to make it right?"

It was the first time she'd seen him so humbled. Trevor was proud, cold even, his wealth and status feeding

never been like this. For a moment, she was speechless. his ego. In their five years together, he

Chapter 106

It wasn't until Yvette rolled over uncomfortably on the sofa and let out a soft moan that Summer snapped out of her thoughts.

"Trevor, there's no chance for us anymore. I used to dream of hearing you say those words to me, but after five years, even the most passionate heart has grown cold. Let's just let each other go.

Trevor's eyes turned icy. "Is it because of Fraser?"

Summer didn't answer.

Even without Fraser, Trevor and I would

have lasted.

And it wasn't because of Fraser that I had broken up with him.

But Summer's silence was an admission in Trevor's

eyes.

Summer actually had feelings for a man like Fraser.

;

Just the thought of that possibility.

Sent a wave of anger crashing over Trevor, drowning him.

Trevor gritted his teeth. "Summer, everyone in Havenbrook knows that the Graham and Larson families are rivals. And you were my fiancée. Use your brain. Why would he want to be with you? Fraser is just trying to get back at me. He's playing with you. Don't be naive."

Hearing this, Summer clenched her fists until her knuckles turned white and shouted.

#

"Enough! Do you think everyone is like you? Double-dealing, unfaithful in relationships? Trevor, the only person you truly love is yourself."

Trevor looked at Summer, who was now bristling like a porcupine.

His brow furrowed, the anger inside him slowly subsiding. What was I doing?

How had I managed to turn things into such a mess again?

Tonight, I had intended to win her back, not provoke her.

Trevor suppressed his temper, his voice softening. "Summer, I'm just worried about you. The Graham family background would never accept you. Besides, there have been rumors for a long time that the Graham heir will marry into the Lastesh Group from Oblistan. Being with him will only hurt you."

Summer's heart tightened, and her expression became even colder. She let out a bitter laugh. "I have already suffered enough pain because of you. Did you think your Larson family ever really accepted me? Didn't your mother humiliate me as well?"

Hearing her sarcastic words, Trevor stiffened.

At this thought, Trevor felt as if a knife had sliced through his heart, and the pain was throbbing.

His voice was hoarse and heavy. "Summer, give me a chance to make it up to you. I'll never hurt you again, and I won't let anyone bully you. I will change whatever you don't like, okay?"

Summer's face was like ice. "I don't need it. The only thing you need to change is

to never show up in front of me again."

At that moment, a bartender approached.

Summer no longer had the patience to talk to Trevor.

She and the bartender helped Yvette up and headed for the door.

Trevor watched their retreating figure and for the first time felt as if a sharp sword

had pierced his chest, the pain radiating through his limbs.

He let out a mocking laugh.

So I was the one who had hurt her the most.

Summer took Yvette home, wiped her with a towel, and tucked her into bed before leaving the room.

It was too late to go home, so she decided to stay in Yvette's house.

There was a bedroom for her here.

After showering and lying down, Summer was

hausted but couldn't sleep.

Her mind was filled with Trevor's words.

Fraser is just toying with you.

An upper-class family like the Graham family would never accept you.

Summer, you will get hurt!

She had to admit that Trevor had touched the hidden fears deep in her heart.

Summer opened WhatsApp and found the contact of the man who had caused her sleepless night.

Her fingers tapped on the screen for a long time, but she couldn't bring herself to send the message.

Summer deleted the words and threw her phone on the bed in frustration.

Was I really going to ask him if he liked me, or was he just using me to spite Trevor?

I was the one who had said that they should take things naturally.

Summer, are you really that fragile?

It turned out that she had

She answered the call.

geen "ent him a string of gibberish, which was why he was calling.

The man's deep, magnetic voice came through. "Not asleep yet?"

Summer's voice was soft. "About to sleep."

"What's wrong with your voice?"

"Nothing."

Did Mr. Graham not realize that he was in the Ameros?

Even with all his power, could he really appear before me in a few minutes?

Obviously, Summer was wrong.

A video call buzzed through the quiet night.

Chapter 107

She had been lying lazily in bed, but immediately sat up, smoothing her

disheveled hair with her fingers.

Tonight, she was wearing Yvette's red nightgown, a strappy, plunging V-neck that accentuated her figure.

Summer quickly pulled the fabric up to cover her chest.

After a moment, she hesitantly answered the video call.

This was the first time I had ever video-called a man this late at night.

Summer was nervous and flustered.

But the man on the other end of the call seemed completely at ease.

He looked relaxed, confident, and effortlessly commanding.

The video showed his sharp, short hair, high bridge of his nose, defined jawline, and narrow, dark eyes filled with amusement. His lips curled into a slight smile, and behind him was the surreal view of a cityscape through the floor-to-ceiling windows of his balcony.

Summer felt uncomfortable, her ears turning red. "Why did you suddenly make a video call?"

"I want to see you."

Fraser's dark eyes were fixed intently on the woman in front of the screen.

Her skin was smooth and delicate, like fine jade. Her eyes were bright and sparkling, and her lips were a soft, seductive red.

She was clutching the fabric of her nightgown to her chest, but the red strappy dress still revealed her pale, delicate shoulders.

Fraser's gaze darkened, his Adam's apple bobbing as he swallowed.

Was she trying to cover up or tease me?

Didn't she know that this half-revealed, half-concealed look was even more alluring?

His voice was deep and husky. "Summer, are you trying to seduce me so blatantly?"

"I am not!"

He was the one who initiated the video call, and now he was turning it on me.

The man's intense, dangerous gaze seemed to sweep over Summer through the

screen.

Even though he was thousands of miles away.

In the next second, she pulled the blanket over her, covering everything but her head.

The man's voice, laced with amusement, came through. "What are you hiding? I've seen every part of you."

"Pervert." Summer grunted.

Fraser's gaze deepened, his eyes so dark they seemed to drown'her. "Hmph, I'm just a pervert to you."

Summer was speechless. When it came to this cunning man, she could never win.

Fraser watched the woman on the screen, her flushed face and delicate demeanor.

His smile widened.

He had been in the Ameros for two days on business, and he missed her.

He had traveled a lot for work in the past, and Summer hadn't been his wife then.

He had never felt this way before.

Maybe humans were greedy by nature.

Once they tasted sweetness, they became addicted to it.

Fraser looked up, his gaze intense. "Did you miss me?"

"No."

Summer refused to admit it.

"But I missed you. Summer, you heard it?"

Summer met his gaze, which was like a deep, dark vortex that threatened to pull her in.

Her heart skipped a beat.

The next moment, the man's voice came through, teasing and casual. "I want you tonight. How can I do?"

Ah, I should have known better than to trust his words!

After hanging up, Fraser's lips curled into a sweet smile.

His assistant, Mike, knocked on the door and respectfully handed over a stack of documents.

Fraser walked over to his desk, picked up a pen, and signed his name at the end of the contract.

He casually handed the documents back and asked, "Is the return flight on Friday confirmed?"

Mike took the documents and hesitated for a moment before nodding.

There had been an urgent problem at the subsidiary, forcing Mr. Graham to travel here to solve it. The workload was heavy, and it would have been a stretch to finish it within a week.

A Late-Night Call

It seemed like something important was waiting for him back home.

But the orders of the Graham family patriarch couldn't be ignored.

Mike hesitated for a moment before speaking.

"Mr. Graham, Anne Lastesh, the granddaughter of the Lastesh Group, is graduating from Haverford University this week. Mr. Maximus's intention is for you to... attend the ceremony before you return."

As he spoke, Fraser's icy gaze swept over him, and Mike's voice grew quieter.

Fraser looked up, his tone unreadable. "My grandfather's intention?"

Mike stood respectfully. "Yes."

Fraser let out a cold laugh. "Are you my person or his?"

"I am your person, Mr. Graham."

"My person? Then why are you delivering his orders?"

The chill in Fraser's voice made Mike feel a cold breeze on the back of his neck.

Mike bowed even lower. "Mr. Graham, I wouldn't dare."

Fraser's lips twitched. "Wouldn't dare? It seems like you're daring enough. What,

are you going to stop my plane from taking off?"

Chapter 108

The Unyielding Heir

Mike was frozen for a moment.

Finished

How could he dare to stop Mr. Graham's plane? He was only delivering Mr. Maximus's orders. How had that become an act of treason?

Mike pursed his lips. "I know what to do."

In the end, Fraser stuck to his original plan and returned on Friday.

But the news quickly reached Maximus Graham, the patriarch of the Graham family.

Not long after that.

Fraser received a phone call from his grandfather, Maximus.

The old man's voice, though aged, carried an authoritative tone.

"Fraser, Anne from the Lastesh Group is your fiancée. Her graduation ceremony is an important event. If you don't attend, both the president of the Lastesh Group and I will be deeply disappointed."

Fraser's tongue pressed against his cheek as he picked up a glass of red wine from the table and took a sip. His eyes darkened, and he let out a cold laugh.

"Oh? So the arranged marriage was decided by you two old men, but it's up to us to fulfill it? Grandpa, you've really mastered the art of forcing a sale.”

Maximus frowned. This unruly grandson was always a headache.

"The Graham family has built its legacy over a century. The Graham Group has reached a size unparalleled in Havenbrook. The Lastesh Group, a financial giant spanning Oblistan, is on a par with our family. This marriage is a perfect match, carefully chosen for you."

Fraser's voice was casual, almost dismissive. "Sounds like a great match. Why don't you marry her yourself, Grandpa? I wouldn't mind having a new grandmother."

"You impertinent brat! How dare you talk like that?"

"I've always been like this. You know that."

"Fraser, the marriage of the Graham family heir is not something you can take lightly."

Fraser nonchalantly replied, "Then, Grandpa, should I let you make all the decisions for me?"

Next weekend is the Stewart family heiress's birthday.

Every year, the Stewart family threw a big birthday party for Margaret.

But this year, the invitation list only had the name of their beloved daughter, Summer.

Outside, by the azure swimming pool, guests clinked glasses, greeted each other, whispered, or chatted in small groups.

"Why the change in the Stewart family this year? Didn't they always throw birthday parties for Ms. Margaret?*

"The Stewart family has finally realized that their own daughter is the real treasure. A fake Phoenix can never become a real one"

"I heard that Summer secured an 1 billion investment for the Stewart Group and even managed to bring in the Belvare luxury brand, Marloux. With such a capable daughter, who wouldn't appreciate her?"

"In short, Margaret has fallen out of favor."

Margaret, dressed in a blue evening gown with her hair in a princess updo, stood by the door, her face pale with anger

as she listened to the guests' chatter. Her fists were clenched tightly, and her eyes burned with

;

rage.

Standing next to her, Harvey felt a pang of sadness.

If only Summer had died out there all those years ago.

Harvey tried to comfort Margaret.

"Margaret, don't worry. Once I secure the director position, I'll make sure that Summer is kicked out of the Stewart Group. I'll avenge you."

Upon hearing this, Margaret turned to face Harvey, his eyes red and filled with tears.

"Harvey, I'm not your sister anymore. Look, dad is only throwing a party for Summer this year and letting me celebrate my birthday the next day. Soon, there won't be any place for me in the Stewart family."

"No, in Mom's and my hearts, you'll always be our sister. Summer is just an outsider."

Margaret's tears fell. "But Dad doesn't love me anymore."

Harvey frowned, his heart aching.

The precious pearl I had cherished since childhood was now being bullied by Summer.

I would definitely avenge Margaret!

"Dad's just confused. You know how he is. Summer secured these investments for

the Stewart Group, so he's just rewarding her as an employee."

Margaret buried her face in Harvey's chest and hugged him tightly.

"Harvey, will you always be by my side?"

"Always," Harvey promised.

Summer, dressed in an elegant evening gown, sat on the sofa in her room, staring

at her phone in a daze.

I thought I'd be happy today as it was my first bright birthday back at the Stewart family, but I'm really not excited

about it.

Probably because I know that none of the people outside are genuinely celebrating for me.

Looking at the cell phone, full of thoughts actually far away from the man in the

sky.

Chapter 109

The Unwelcome Truth

Summer let out a self-mocking laugh.

Finished

He's in the Ameros. In previous years, you spent your birthday alone. Tonight, there's a whole crowd here for you. What more do you want?

Suddenly, the door to their room was pushed open.

Julia, dressed in a one-shouldered cheongsam and draped in a pearl shawl, walked in arm-in-arm with Jasper, who was dressed in a formal suit.

Julia asked, “Summer, the banquet has begun. Why hasn't Trevor arrived yet?"

Summer stood up from the sofa as they entered.

"Trevor is not coming today."

Julia frowned.

Recently, news of Summer and Trevor breaking up had spread throughout the high society.

In such a small circle of elites, gossip tended to be distorted.

Some said that Summer had lost to Peyton.

Others claimed that Summer was playing hard to get with Trevor and did not know her own worth.

Julia had been humiliated in front of the other nobles.

Yesterday, when she went to the spa and ran into Scarlett, she eagerly

approached him to exchange a few pleasantries.

But Scarlett had looked at her with disdain, as if she were a fly.

Julia was so angry that she almost spat blood.

Today, she had counted on Trevor's presence.

She had even arranged for Summer and Trevor to dance the opening waltz together, hoping to dispel the

recent news.

But now, if he didn't show up, wouldn't it embarrass the Stewart family?

"Why isn't Trevor coming? Today is your 24th birthday, an important occasion. As

your fiance, how could he not come? I'll call him right now."

With that, she took out her phone and was about to dial.

Summer stepped forward from the sofa and pressed down on her phone.

Coldly, she said, "He and I have nothing to do with each other. Why should I invite him?"

The Unwelcome Truth

Jasper, who was standing nearby, also spoke in a stern tone.

Finished

"Summer, your mother has gone all out for your birthday today. Everyone outside is a valued guest of the Stewart family."

The implication was clear. This wasn't just Summer's birthday; it was the birthday of the Stewart family's daughter.

If the Stewart family's daughter's fiancé didn't show up, the gossip would only get

worse.

Summer looked at her silent phone.

"I said I'd bring my boyfriend, but unfortunately, he's on a business trip.",

Julia scoffed.

"A business trip? There's been no news of any business trips from the Larson Group's executive office this week."

Summer felt a wave of irritation.

"Where Trevor is has nothing to do with me. He's not my boyfriend."

Julia was shocked. "Your boyfriend isn't Trevor? Then who is it? Everyone in our circle knows that you're engaged to the Larson family. Who would dare to go out with you?"

Jasper frowned.

"Summer, I've already told you that your marriage is tied to the future of the Stewart Group. If you don't find a partner who can bring greater benefits to the Stewart family, this matter is not up for discussion."

Summer fell silent.

Seeing her like this, Julia couldn't contain his anger.

"Summer, you really have no respect for your parents. How could you act like this

on such an important occasion?"

After a moment, Summer's clear voice rang out in the room.

"Fraser."

Jasper's eyes widened. "What did you say?"

Summer stared at them, enunciating each word. "I said my boyfriend is Fraser Graham."

Julia finally processed the words, her lips trembling slightly. "The Graham family... Mr. Graham?"

"Do you really expect me to believe that? Just because the Graham Group invested 1 billion in the Stewart Group, you think Mr. Graham is interested in you?"

"The century-old legacy of the Graham family is even more impressive than that of the Larson family. They have over tens of billions of overseas assets. How could someone like that be interested in a small family like ours?"

Summer turned away, her grip on the phone tightening until her knuckles turned white. "Believe what you

want."

"Jasper, look at her. How did I end up with a daughter who lies so easily?"

Jasper tried to calm Julia down before turning to Summer.

"Of course, I'd be happy if Mr. Graham was interested in you. But as your mother said, our Stewart family hasn't reached that level yet. Whether you've broken up

or not, we can't let the Stewart family lose face today."

Summer scoffed. "So my feelings are just for your reputation?"

"What noble family in high society isn't like that? Do you think you're still that

'Summer, the daughter of Yolanda from the back alleys?" Julia said.

The moment these words were spoken, the room fell into an icy silence. Summer's eyelashes trembled.

Chapter 110

Julia immediately realized that she had spoken too quickly and brought up that unfortunate woman in prison again.

"Forget it, forget it. Jasper, let's go downstairs and entertain the guests."

With that, the two of them left in a huff.

Summer felt exhausted.

I knew that just saying that Fraser is her boyfriend wouldn't convince anyone.

Besides, I wasn't very confident either.

What was supposed to be the happiest day had turned into the same dull, heavy mood as past birthdays.

It seemed that I just wasn't suitable to celebrate my birthday.

Summer went over and pulled back the curtains.

In the courtyard of the villa, the atmosphere was lively as glasses clinked and noble ladies and gentlemen began to dance.

There was a knock at the door.

"Ms. Stewart, Madam, and Sir had asked to come down. The banquet is about to begin."

Summer acknowledged and took a deep breath, preparing to go downstairs. The room where Summer had changed was at the bottom of the second floor. When she stepped out, she walked down a long corridor.

Halfway there, a door beside her suddenly opened without warning.

A strong hand shot out like lightning, grabbing her wrist and pulling her inside.

Summer stumbled a few steps before she saw Margaret standing opposite her, glaring fiercely.

Her sharp, hawk-like eyes gleamed with a cold light, fixed on her prey.

The room was pitch black, with only the faint light from the window flickering in. The eerie atmosphere sent shivers down Summer's arms.

"Margaret, what kind of game are you playing?"

Margaret's lips curled into a sinister smile. "Summer, only one of us can exist." Through the dim light, Summer could see a hint of madness in Margaret's eyes.

"Margaret, I'm not in the mood for your games today. I have to go downstairs for my birthday party."

"There are guests outside. If you continue to cause trouble, aren't you afraid that everyone will see your true face?"

With that, she turned to leave.

Margaret suddenly lunged forward, grabbed Summer's arm with tremendous force, and pulled her toward the window.

Summer's wrist turned red from the grip, and she swung her arm back, breaking free.

Margaret stumbled and fell toward the window, half of her body hanging over the edge.

At that moment, Harvey's voice came from outside the door.

"Margaret, have you changed your jewelry? What's that noise?"

Margaret looked down at the window, her eyes filled with determination.

"Summer, after today, you will know what it means to be ruined." "Crack."

The bedroom door was pushed open from the outside by Harvey.

"Thud!"

At the same time, Margaret jumped out of the window, her body falling like a broken doll.

Summer watched as Margaret fell from the second-floor window, unable to react in time.

A deafening roar echoed through the mansion. "Margaret!"

Harvey's figure shot forward like lightning.

He desperately reached out to catch Margaret as she fell.

But all he grabbed was empty air.

Harvey's face twisted in rage as he glared at Summer, his eyes filled with murderous intent.

He shouted angrily, "Summer, I saw everything! You pushed Margaret out of the window! You tried to kill her, you evil woman!"

"Thwack!"

Harvey, using his natural male strength, stepped forward and swung his hand, slapping Summer's fair, delicate face.

The force of the slap caused Summer to stumble and fall heavily to the ground.

Summer's gaze turned icy as she looked at him. "Harvey, you fool!"

Harvey became even more enraged when he heard Summer insult him.

Finished

"Summer, you are done for today. If anything happens to Margaret, I'll make sure

you go to jail. Come down.now!"

With that, he grabbed Summer's wrist.

He dragged her down the stairs like a rag doll.

Outside the villa, by the pool.

A group of young ladies and gentlemen were dancing and chatting.

Suddenly there was a deafening "thud."

The melodious music in the mansion abruptly stopped.

Everyone turned around in shock to see Margaret fall out of the window.

By the pool, Margaret lay pale and lifeless, her face drenched in sweat from the

pain. Her legs were broken, and she was screaming in agony.
