Chapter 111

Lock Her Up!

Julia and Jasper heard the commotion and rushed over, pushing through the crowd.

The moment they arrived, they saw Margaret covered in wounds, her legs bleeding, looking utterly miserable.

Finished

Julia hurried forward and held her tightly, her voice filled with worry. "Margaret, what happened? How did you fall from the second floor? Someone call a doctor!"

At that moment, Harvey mercilessly grabbed Summer and threw her into the middle of the crowd without hesitation.

Summer crashed to the ground once again.

Harvey's voice was chilling. "She was the one who pushed Margaret out of the second-floor window."

Margaret clung to Julia, leaning against her chest, sobbing. "Mom, Harvey, it hurts so much... Am I going to die?"

Julia saw Margaret drenched in cold sweat from the pain, and in an instant, fury erupted in her chest. "Summer, Margaret is your sister! How could you be so cruel? I regret bringing you back three years ago!"

Jasper stood there, his face dark as he watched the crowd treat this as mere entertainment.

"Harvey, are you sure about this? Are you saying Summer pushed Margaret down?"

Harvey, like a righteous avenger, spoke loudly. "Dad, I saw it clearly with both my eyes! Summer pushed Margaret! We can't shelter a murderer in this family. She has to be sent to prison for life!"

The crowd broke into another wave of heated discussion.

"Did Summer really push her? But today is her birthday. Why would she do that?"

"Who knows? People are greedy. Maybe she wanted to get rid of Margaret for good."

"But pushing someone in front of everyone? That's too reckless. Something feels off."

"What's off about it? Summer grew up in poverty. You have no idea how malicious those kinds of people can be!"

Hearing the murmurs and accusations, Summer felt a bone-chilling cold seep into her entire body.

Perfect.

Margaret had really succeeded in completely ruining her.

But she couldn't fall. She couldn't let these people see her break.

Even if no one believed her, she would never surrender to them.

Her nails dug into her palm as she gritted her teeth and spat out, "I didn't push her. Margaret fell on her

trying to frame me? Harvey saw everything! No one will believe you!"

Julia closed her eyes for a moment, her voice hoarse. "Take Summer to the police. I don't have such a ruthless daughter."

At her words, Summer laughed. But tears welled up in her eyes as she did. Jasper was silent for a moment.

"If we hand her over to the police now, what will that do to our family's reputation? Right now, our priority is treating Margaret. Lock Summer up for now, we'll handle this later.

Summer wiped the tears from her face until not a single drop remained. With an expressionless face, she said, "I didn't do it. You have no right to punish me."

Harvey's expression darkened when he heard that Jasper wasn't handing Summer over to the police.

Just letting her go like that?

Rage burned through his veins.

"Dad, if you want to settle this privately, fine. But Margaret's suffering can't go unanswered! That bitch Summer deserves to be punished!"

With that, Harvey's expression turned vicious as he strode toward Summer.

The next second, he lifted his right leg, aiming to kick her straight into the swimming pool.

But before his foot could touch her, a sudden "Ah!" rang out.

Harvey was sent flying from behind, his body arcing through the air before crashing straight into the pool, sending water splashing everywhere.

For a brief moment, everyone's eyes snapped toward the tall, imposing man standing there.

Dressed in a black suit, he exuded a chilling presence, as if he alone could command the entire world.

His deep, piercing gaze locked onto Harvey, and his voice was ice-cold. "Do you think you have the right to punish my woman? Who the hell do you think you are?"

Then, Fraser's dark, menacing eyes fell on the woman sitting on the ground.

Summer's face was deathly pale, blood staining the corner of her lips. Her wrists were red and swollen, and she could barely sit upright.

Her expensive gown was torn at the hem, leaving her looking utterly disheveled, like a lone leaf caught in a violent storm, moments away from being crushed.

D*mn it. I was only a few minutes late, how did she end up like this?

A surge of fury erupted in Fraser's chest.

With a cold expression he strode forward took off his facker and draned it over Summer's shoulders

In Havenbrook, everyone knew that Fraser might seem easygoing on the surface,

but that was just an illusion.

When he got serious, there was nothing he wouldn't do.

And once he set his sights on something, no one in Havenbrook could stand in his

way.

Chapter 112

Fraser crouched down, raised his hand, and gently wiped the blood from the corner of Summer's mouth. "Who hit you?"

Summer lowered her head and turned away. She didn't want this man to see her in such a pathetic, humiliating state.

Her 24th birthday was supposed to be a happy occasion, yet it had turned into a complete joke.

She could endure indifference from everyone, and could be unbreakable. But this single act of tenderness easily shattered the protective shell she had struggled to maintain.

Her fingers clenched tighter, and her teeth sank into her crimson lips, leaving a mark.

The suit draped over her shoulders carried the faint scent of pine, a subtle trace of him.

The warmth pressed down on her, heavy and suffocating, making her body tremble involuntarily.

A lump formed in

heat

As always, the man was domineering. He lifted her chin, forcing her to look up at him.

"Look at me."

Fraser lowered his gaze, staring into her eyes, his voice deepening. "Who did this?"

As he spoke, his cold, razor-sharp eyes swept across the room.

The people around them instinctively took a step back, chilled to the bone by his piercing gaze.

No one dared to cross this bossman.

On the other side, Harvey had already climbed out of the pool, drenched and shivering in the autumn chill.

No one had even tried to save him!

He roared, “Who the hell dared to lay a hand on me? Do you have a death wish? I'm the eldest son of the Stewart family!"

Jasper was the first to react, his voice cold and harsh. "Shut up, you idiot."

Then, his usually stern face softened into a fawning smile as he bent slightly at the waist. "Mr. Graham, what an honor to have you here. Forgive us for not welcoming you properly. It's just a family matter that got out of hand. Please don't mind it."

Harvey had been away for years and had never met Fraser before.

But seeing Jasper grovel like a lapdog made his anger boil over. "Dad, he's the one who kicked me! Why are you bowing to him?"

Even in international markets, the Graham Group stood as a powerhouse among global conglomerates, consistently ranking at the top of the wealth lists. Harvey's heart skipped a beat.

Fraser's icy gaze locked onto him, the cold glint in his eyes sharpening. "The slap on Summer's face. You did it."

Harvey, already freezing, started shaking even harder. His lips quivered, but no words came out.

Fraser reached up and loosened his tic, rolling up the sleeves of his black shirt. He unfastened his watch and placed it in Summer's hand.

She recognized it. It was the one she had given him last time.

Fraser stood up and strode toward Harvey, each step exuding an overwhelming pressure.

Harvey's face turned pale. He instinctively stepped back.

The next second, Fraser grabbed him by the collar and slammed his head onto the ground.

A gasp of horror rippled through the crowd.

No one dared to stop him. Fraser was ruthless, violent, and terrifying.

His sharp features looked even more intimidating, veins bulging on his arm as he tightened his grip on Harvey's shirt.

"Do you like hitting women?" His voice was low and menacing. "Do you like kicking people? Do you like dragging them around? You enjoy that, right?"

With each sentence, Fraser smashed Harvey's head against the floor again. Blood quickly pooled beneath him.

"Ah! Stop! Please!" Harvey howled in pain, his voice cracking as he begged. "Let me go! I was wrong! I won't do it again!"

Fraser's viciousness was fully unleashed. He had never played by the rules.

His parents had died young, and his grandfather had raised him under the elite, rigid training of a Graham Group heir.

It made him arrogant, cold-blooded to the extreme.

If it weren't for that girl back then, he would have been utterly ruthless.

His strikes were brutal.

Just thinking about Harvey's filthy hand striking Summer made Fraser want to kill him on the spot.

Julia watching her son being beaten burst into tears. She could no longer care about Fraser's status Fraser glanced at Harvey's bloodied face before finally letting go, shoving him aside like trash.

Chapter 113

A Fireworks Show

Fraser stood up, took the towel beside him, and slowly wiped his fingers with deliberate elegance.

As if the ruthless man who had just beaten someone wasn't him.

He cast a glance at Julia, his expression indifferent. "Are you sure it was Summer?"

Summer paused for a few seconds, her face darkening, "I didn't do it."

Finished

Fraser's face remained cold, but when he looked at her, his gaze softened, like rippling water, his voice laced with lazy mischief.

"Well, pushing her isn't a big deal. Better you push someone than be pushed yourself. If she ends up crippled, I'll handle it. But if you're crippled, who's going to compensate me?"

Everyone was speechless.

What kind of overbearing logic is that?

Julia nearly fainted from his unreasonable and domineering words.

"Mr. Graham, I know you hold a lofty status, but Summer and Margaret are my daughters. This is the Stewart family's affair. Aren't you afraid of becoming a laughingstock for using your power to pressure others if word gets out?"

Fraser lifted his eyes, glancing at Summer's pale face with a meaningful look. "She's sensitive. If she takes this loss quietly, she'll probably make a fuss with me tonight. Let's settle this now."

Summer was speechless.

Like hell I'd make a fuss with him...

Jasper said, "There's no surveillance inside the Stewart Mansion's rooms, only in the hallways. The servants just showed me the footage. Margaret entered the room first, then Summer. When Harvey walked in, Margaret fell right after. He's the only eyewitness."

"Oh?" Fraser took out his phone. "Pull up the rooftop surveillance from Astralis Tower."

Astralis Tower was the high-rise directly across from the Stewart Mansion.

Margaret felt as if a hand had grabbed her heart in the darkness.

She reassured herself.

Even if there was surveillance in the building opposite, the distance was too far to capture anything clearly.

Yet she still felt uneasy.

Fraser reached out and gently brushed Summer's hair away from her forehead, his touch both tender and cautious. His lips curled in a half-smile. "What a shame. I had a fireworks show planned as a surprise for you tonight, and now it's ruined."

A Fireworks Show

As for the high-definition video recording, he had thought women liked to keep memories of occasions, so he had arranged for every moment of the night to be captured,

Summer's heart trembled.

A thousand emotions struck her like an arrow to the heart.

Her clear, bright eyes turned misty as she stared at him, stunned.

The man was dignified, steady, and untouchable, always in control, as if everything was within his grasp.

Fraser's deep black eyes locked onto hers, the corners of his lips lifting slightly. "Don't seduce me in front of all these people..."

Summer remained silent. Even now, this man still won't take things seriously.

The wave of emotions that had just surged through her instantly scattered. And with it came an inexplicable sense of embarrassment.

The heaviness and frustration in her heart eased slightly under its influence. Before long, two professionals dressed in black carried over a large camera. "Mr. Graham, the footage you requested has been copied to this device." Fraser took it, his gaze dark and deep as he tapped on the screen, scrolling through the video with his long fingers.

Everyone held their breath, watching his every move intently.

His finger suddenly stopped. He raised an eyebrow, then handed the device to the black-clad man beside him. "Play this part."

The crowd exchanged glances.

Could that camera really have captured what happened inside a room over three thousand feet away? What kind of surveillance footage is this?

The man followed the order, pointing the massive camera at the Stewart Mansion's white wall as if using it

as a screen.

Soon, a video flickered to life before everyone's eyes.

Margaret broke out in a cold sweat, her body numb to pain as sheer terror consumed her like a mo beast.

Ous

Julia assumed she was afraid of watching herself fall and tried to comfort her. "Don't worry, I believe you. If there's footage, we'll see everything clearly. That way, Mr. Graham can't accuse our family of wrongdoing."

Margaret clutched Julia's dress, her pupils trembling. Her voice was shaky. "Mom... let's not watch..."

The moment she finished sneaking an eerily familiar female voice echoed from the video

Chapter 114

You Lied to Me

Immediately, the video played. By the window, Margaret closed her eyes and leaped down alone

Everyone stared in shock at the crystal-clear footage on the screen.

The surveillance video had even recorded every word spoken, leaving no room for doubt.

So Fraser had actually used military-grade surveillance cameras just to put on this fireworks show, to make Summer happy.

Julia trembled, staring at Margaret in disbelief. "Margaret, you lied to me.

Margaret had never seen Julia look at her with such cold eyes before. There was no warmth at all, as if she were a stranger.

Tears of fear streamed down her face as she shouted, "No! Mom, Dad, Harvey, this is all fake! It's all fake"

Julia no longer carried the grace and dignity she had moments ago. Right now, she looked like a mother who had been utterly deceived, her face aging ten years in an instant.

Unable to hold back, she slapped Margaret hard across the face. "Margaret, you really went as far as hurting yourself just to frame Summer? This is how you repay my trust? The daughter I raised with utmost care for twenty years? Ha! I was afraid you'd be unhappy, so I distanced myself from Summer. I was afraid you'd feel left out, so I treated you better. I was afraid you'd be upset, so every time you and Summer fought, I always took your side. And yet, you still lied to me!"

Jasper quickly stepped forward to support Julia as her body wavered. He frowned, glancing at Margaret, who lay on the ground.

Margaret's eyes were swollen from crying. She wanted to kneel and beg for mercy, but her legs were broken, so she couldn't move. All she could do was crawl forward and try to grab Jasper's pant leg.

"Dad, Mom, I was wrong! Please forgive me just this once. I won't do it again! I was just scared of losing you! If you hadn't thrown this birthday party for Summer today, I never would've thought of doing this! I was jealous of how she was slowly taking your love away from me!"

Jasper shook her off in disgust, his voice full of anger. "Don't call me Dad. I'm not your father."

Margaret turned to Harvey with pleading eyes, her voice choked with sobs. "Harvey, help me! You said you'd always stand by me!"

Harvey's face was tense, the conflict in his eyes clear.

Now that he thought about it, he hadn't actually seen Summer push Margaret with his own eyes.

He had only heard Margaret scream, and instinctively assumed Summer had done it.

But seeing Margaret like this now, he couldn't help but feel torn. Uncomfortable, Harvey looked away.

Julia took a deep breath and turned to Summer, guilt filling her eyes.

Che ctenned forward slowly wanting to take Summer's hand Ruthefore che could touch her Summer

How beautiful she is. She looks just like I did in my youth. How did I never see it before?

Julia sniffled. “Summer, I'm sorry. We misunderstood you."

Summer looked at them with an expressionless face.

If not for today's video proving her innocence, she would probably be in prison by

now.

Fraser let out a mocking chuckle. "Mrs. Stewart, how about someone pushing you off the second floor? See if a simple apology can fix it."

Julia was at a loss for words.

Standing to the side, Jasper caught the subtle look in Fraser's eyes as he shielded Summer. Jasper's gaze darkened. "Mr. Graham, this was all a misunderstanding, and our adopted daughter is to blame. But today is Summer's birthday. Why don't we finish celebrating her birthday?"

Fraser's dark eyes held nothing but disdain. He scoffed, spitting out each word with sharp sarcasm. "She's already been through all this before her birthday even started. If the party goes on, how much more do you plan to put her through?"

Jasper's expression stiffened. "Mr. Graham, you must be joking. Summer is our biological daughter. How could we possibly do that?"

Fraser let out a cold laugh. "Then being your biological daughter must be a real tragedy."

Some people in the room couldn't hold back their laughter.

Even with Jasper's notoriously thick skin, Fraser's blunt words made his face flush red with embarrassment.

Then, without hesitation, Fraser bent down and scooped Summer up into a bridal carry.

He threw down a single sentence. "It's my woman's birthday. Of course, I'll be the one to celebrate it with her."

With that, he turned and strode toward the door, carrying her effortlessly, leaving everyone in stunned Silence.

As they walked past, Summer felt the weight of everyone's knowing, ambiguous stares. A wave of heat rushed to her face.

"Fraser, put me down! My face was slapped, not my legs!"

Fraser glanced down at her, his voice tinged with amusement. "What? Now that everything's settled you're done using me? Ms. Stewart, at least have some decency, say thank you."

"I never..."

Before she could finish, Fraser simply carried her away.

Chapter 115

There was no need to guess how the headlines would erupt tomorrow, yet Fraser remained completely unfazed by public opinion.

Boom

The entire city was instantly illuminated by dazzling fireworks.

They burst across the sky like blossoms in full bloom, vibrant and breathtaking

All

eyes turned toward the tall, elegant man, carrying a beautiful woman'in his arms, stepping forward as if walking into the brilliant fireworks themselves,

The guests of the Stewart Mansion watched as Fraser carried away the birthday girl.

There was no point in staying at this illegitimate celebration any longer.

Besides, judging by what had just happened, Fraser was clearly protecting Summer.

The Stewart family had thoroughly offended him.

Such was the nature of high society, preying on the weak, fearing the powerful, indulging in flattery, and shifting loyalties at a moment's notice. Not one of them dared to stay any longer.

One by one, the guests began to leave.

In mere minutes, the once lively mansion, filled with symphonic melodies, had withered into bleak emptiness.

The mansion's dazzling chandelier lights now shone cold and piercingly bright.

At that moment, the family doctor rushed through the Stewart Mansion's grand entrance, medical kit in hand, accompanied by his medical team, moving against the tide of departing guests.

He had arrived late and had no idea what had happened.

All he knew was that the guests were leaving far too early.

But there was no time to dwell on that curiosity. He hurried forward and asked, "Mr. Stewart, Mrs. Stewart, who is injured?"

Julia stood there, eyes red, her entire body drained of strength.

She turned to glance at Margaret, whose legs were bleeding, then shifted her gaze to Harvey, his head covered in blood.

"Check Harvey first. Take him to the hospital."

With that, she pulled her shawl tighter around her shoulders, pressing against her pounding temples, and slowly walked toward the main hall.

Was So Close

Finished

After a long silence, he made his decision. "Margaret, we've spoiled you, indulge your every whim. But today, you went too far. You've disgraced the entire Stewart family. If you don't care about the honor of this family, then from today onward, you will move out. We no longer have a daughter like you?

The words Margaret had feared most had finally come.

Her body trembled in pain, her sobs choked her breath. "Dad, no! I'm not leaving! This is my home! I belong here! I am the daughter of the Stewart family!"

Jasper no longer spared her a glance. With heavy steps, he, too, walked away. The family doctor looked at Margaret, who was just as gravely injured.

But Jasper and Julia had made no request for him to treat her. So, he simply ignored her and rushed to tend to Harvey instead.

Margaret wiped her tear-streaked face with trembling hands. Her eyes were bloodshot, a flash of hatred gleaming within them.

Why? I was so close! Why? Why did Fraser have to help that wretched woman, Summer? Summer is truly formidable. Not only has she secured Fraser's protection, but she's also stolen Mom and Dad's love! No. I won't go down like this!

She looked at Harvey, who was still surrounded by doctors and nurses, and forcibly swallowed her

resentment.

"Harvey, it hurts so much... Harvey, save me. Didn't you say you would always stand by my side? It was just one mistake... Dad and Mom won't forgive me, and now you're abandoning me too? You used to tuck me in when I was little. When I was bullied outside, you protected me. Harvey, are you leaving me too?" Harvey let out a long sigh.

He thought of their childhood, of the sister he had loved and cared for over twenty years. In the end, his heart softened.

Margaret had only been momentarily blinded by jealousy.

I&Summer had never returned to the Stewart family, Margaret wouldn't have done any of this.

He raised a hand, stopping the doctor who was still treating him, and ordered in a low voice, "Go check on Margaret's leg. Take us both to the hospital. If anything happens to my sister, I will hold you accountable."

Fraser carried Summer outside and placed her in the passenger seat of his sleek black Lamborghini.

The car roared to life, a graceful yet untamed beast surging into the night.

The neon-lit city pulsed with restless energy, lights flashing and intertwining.

Overhead, fireworks exploded, painting the sky with vibrant, blossoming colors, transforming the city into a dreamscape.

Through the car windows, they streaked past like bold strokes on a canvas of night.

Chapter 116

Kiss Me

Soon, Fraser and Summer arrived at Astralis Tower

He parked the car, took Summer's hand, and stepped out with her.

He led her into the sky elevator, ascending all the way to the very top of the towering building

As they stepped out, a vast, dazzling sky stretched before them.

Stars and fireworks flickered in the night, like jewels embedded in black velvet, shining brilliantly.

Finished

The rooftop was arranged warmly, with balloons and vibrant roses encircling the space, turning it into a luxurious observation deck.

It was just the two of them.

Fraser pulled out a first-aid kit from somewhere.

He took out a cotton swab, soaked it in medicinal alcohol, and carefully reached

out to dab the swollen corner of her lips.

The alcohol stung as it touched the small cut.

Hiss...

Summer instinctively turned her head away, murmuring softly, "It hurts."

Fraser frowned. "Now you know it hurts? Why didn't you dodge when you were getting hit?" His deep voice carried a harsh edge, but his touch grew gentler.

Summer felt frustrated.

How am I supposed to know Harvey will just walk up and slap me out of nowhere? Even if I scream or fight back, it doesn't make a difference.

A woman's strength was no match for a grown man.

Harvey was impulsive, reckless, and fiercely protective, but only when it came to Margaret.

At that thought, the brightness in Summer's clear, beautiful eyes dimmed.

"I'll take you to boxing lessons next time."

"Boxing?" Summer looked up at him. "One against two? Can I fight you too?"

Fraser's lips curled slightly, his voice light. "I just saved you like a hero, and now you want to silence me?"

That wasn't what Summer meant.

At the party, Fraser had fought for her. She still remembered how effortlessly he had lifted Harvey.

Now, she finally understood why people always said Havenbrook's bossman was a powerhouse in the ring.

Finished

If she could be half as skilled as him, she could put people like Harvey in their place. Fraser finished applying medicine to the cuts on her lips and any other wounds on her body.

Then, he lounged carelessly on a nearby chair, one arm resting' casually behind his head, the other idly stroking her slender, silk-like fingers.

Just then, his phone rang.

Fraser glanced at Summer before answering in front of her. "What's up?"

His grandmother, Helen Lawson, spoke on the other end.

"Oh, my dear, I heard you've been busy handling the branch office, working tirelessly without rest. What was so urgent that you rushed back? A 15-hour flight must have been exhausting! The servants told me you didn't even stop by the villa to rest after landing. I'm worried your body won't be able to handle such intense strain."

She was close enough that Summer could hear everything.

She remembered Fraser telling her he'd be on a business trip for a week.

But it had only been four days, including travel time, plus handling work.

That meant he had barely slept.

Summer stared at him in silence.

His profile was sharp and well-defined-deep-set eyes, a straight nose, chiseled features that seemed meticulously sculpted. But faint shadows of exhaustion lingered around his eyes.

So he had rushed back just to celebrate her birthday.

The realization sent warmth flooding through her chest, swelling until it ached, almost overflowing.

Fraser ended the call.

Summer quickly turned her head away, not wanting him to notice her reaction.

A moment later, her voice came out hoarse. "Thank you for tonight."

Thank you for standing up for me so unapologetically. Thank you for being on my side without hesitation. Thank you for the fireworks. Thank you...

Summer had always been easily moved.

Otherwise, she wouldn't have fallen for Trevor back then, just because he helped her with the school

enrollment.

Mon,

Fraser raised a brow, pulled her into his arms, and flipped over, pinning her beneath him.

His dark eyes locked onto her, unwavering, his voice low and magnetic. "I don't accept verbal gratitude?

Summer met his gaze.

His long lashes were like ink, his pupils deep and unreadable, reflecting her delicate silhouette within them.

"Kiss me, Summer."

Without hesitation, she wrapped her arms around his neck.

She leaned in, pressing soft kisses to his thick brows, his high nose-one after another, gentle and lingering.

Chapter 117

Summer finally left her mark on Fraser's thin lips.

Fraser never expected her to kiss him like that. His gaze flickered, and he let out a rough, ragged breath. His Adam's apple rolled sharply, the sound of his breathing unusually loud on the dark rooftop.

Summer was just about to pull away.

Fraser's large palm pressed against the back of her head, forcing her back into a deep, searing kiss.

His kiss was intense-sometimes teasing, sometimes wild-devouring the lingering sweetness of her lips.

Warm breaths intertwined as their lips met again and again. Summer felt like she was drowning in his kiss.

Fireworks still burst brilliantly in the sky.

In the corner of the rooftop, Trevor's eyes were bloodshot, so red they seemed to be bleeding. His gaze locked onto the passionate scene in the distance, unwavering.

His hands, hanging by his sides, clenched into fists so tight that veins bulge along the backs of them.

Tonight was Summer's birthday party. Trevor had unknowingly driven to the Stewart Mansion.

He never went inside. He didn't want to upset her on her special day.

On the passenger seat lay nearly ten phones.

Summer had blocked him.

Every time he sent a message, she ignored it.

Left with no choice, he bought ten phones, sending her messages whenever he missed her.

Today was her birthday. He still couldn't hold back. He sent one anyway.

Right after he hit send, Peyton called again.

He didn't answer.

Peyton was better now. He didn't need to protect her anymore.

It suddenly hit him that every year on this day, he had abandoned Summer to be with Peyton.

For the first time, guilt and self-loathing flooded his heart.

Just then, guests began trickling out of the Stewart Mansion, chatting as they left.

Someone spotted him in the car and immediately fell silent.

Trevor pushed open the door, stepped out, and grabbed someone to ask what had happened tonight.

Summer was in the passenger seat.

Trevor slammed his foot on the gas, following close behind.

Finished

And now, right in front of him, the woman who should have been his lay in another man's arms, kissing him deeply.

A sharp pain twisted in his chest, as if a blade was slicing him apart, piece by piece. His hands and feet trembled uncontrollably, and his entire body felt hollowed out by pain.

The smile on Summer's face, the familiar love in her eyes were crystal clear.

Trevor had never been jealous or hated before. He had always thought Summer still loved him.

But at this moment, he felt utterly ridiculous.

Trevor swallowed the murderous urge clawing at his throat. His jaw tightened, his footsteps heavy as lead as he took one step forward,

In the end, he turned and left.

Meanwhile, Fraser didn't release Summer until she was nearly breathless.

Her face burned.

She looked up, meeting his dark, smoldering gaze, waves of intensity swirling in his eyes. Her heart pounded wildly in her chest.

There was no way she was letting things go any further on a rooftop.

She pushed against his chest, sitting up and brushing stray strands of hair behind her ear.

She waited for her heartbeat to steady before shifting the topic. "Why did you trust it wasn't me?"

Without even checking the security footage, he had unconditionally stood by her, believed in her.

Fraser sat up lazily, his eyes lingering on the flush at the tips of her ears. His voice was still husky, seductive. “Whether you did it or not doesn't matter. You're my girlfriend. You think I'd let anyone bully you?"

Summer's clear, damp eyes lifted toward the dazzling sky. Her voice was soft. "Don't be so good to me."

I'm afraid I'll fall into a dream so sweet, so intoxicating, that when you leave one day, I'll never be able to wake up. So, Fraser, don't be so good to me...

Fraser leaned back slightly, his tone light and teasing. "Fine, then, Ms. Stewart, it's your turn to be

d to

me."

With that, he guided her hand toward the warmth of his body.

Summer gasped and yanked her hand back, her face heating even more.

Her entire body burned. Her voice carried a soft, accusatory whimper. "Pervert! Is that all you ever think

about?"

Falling Into a Dream

His eyes gleamed with amusement. "I didn't even say anything."

Like hell he didn't. He has literally taken my hand and...

"B*stard!"

Yvette's career had taken a nosedive lately, faster than a waterfall crashing down.

Chapter 118

Since the se*mbag held a press conference first, no one believed Yvette no matter how much she explained.

Society was already harsh on women, and for female celebrities, it was like being measured with a ruler. Yvette returned to how she was at the beginning.

As long as there was an event, she showed up no matter what it was.

It just so happened to be Summer's birthday, but Yvette had an event and couldn't make it back in time. She could only celebrate with her the next day.

At the cafe, Yvette was fuming, "That b*tch Margaret! She actually set you up! I really wanna give her a real shove!"

"Fraser already took care of it for me. This cake is really good, have a piece."

Yvette followed Summer's fork and took a bite. The sweetness melted on her tongue, and most of her anger dissipated.

"Well, having Bossman's protection really makes a difference. Look at you, even the way you talk is dripping with honey."

Summer blushed.

"Sigh, I didn't even say anything yet, and you're already blushing. Last night must've been intense, right?"

Summer thought of the two intertwined shadows from the night before.

Fraser had been ruthless, only letting her go near dawn.

They had tried every position possible.

Even Summer felt like her body had become flexible enough to take up ballet.

Yvette tilted her head, as if recalling something. "But it's weird. With so many people around last night, and given Havenbrook's Graham family Bossman's popularity, why isn't there a single trending topic about you two today?"

Hearing that, Summer finally realized that there really was nothing online about last night, like someone had deliberately suppressed the news.

Not that she was afraid of going public with Fraser. After all, her identity was a bit awkward, and she didn't want unnecessary trouble.

But she didn't overthink it.

Just then, Yvette's phone rang.

"How much? 600 dollars? Are you sure?"

spent building her career in the entertainment industry.

Finished

Not only did she have to pay damages for breach endorsement contracts, but even the dramas she had filmed were put on hold.

Overnight, she had fallen from an A-list star to a washed-up celebrity with a tainted reputation.

Even her longtime manager, Shelly Scott, had left her at this moment.

And to think she had treated Shelly so well-buying her a house, a car-she had practically done everything for her except find her a husband! Only now did she realize that when she lost power, the people around her were nothing but backstabbing rats.

The person on the other end of the call had no patience for her. "Miss, do you really think you're still a big star? You should be grateful someone even wants to hire you. If you wait any longer, you might not even get 600 dollars. Are you going or not? If not, I'll find someone else."

Thinking of the endless compensation fees, Yvette swallowed her anger and gritted her teeth. "Fine, just let me know the time."

After hanging up, she grabbed the coffee on the table and downed it in one go.

But the smooth, sweet taste did nothing to ease the bitterness in her chest.

Summer watched from the side, a little worried. "Yvette, is there anything I can do to help?"

Yvette adjusted her emotions and forced a smile. "It's fine. My mentality is strong. Remember? I started with nothing when I first entered the industry. A little scandal like this won't take me down."

Summer could tell she was just putting on a brave face. "But I'm really worried about you. How about I see if someone can help clear this up?”

Even as an outsider, Summer knew that Yvette had been trending on entertainment news for days, always in a negative light.

Any random post would be something like, "Yvette, get the hell out of the entertainment industry!"

"Don't," Yvette waved her off. "This is nothing. I can handle it myself. You're not even in the industry, what could you do? Are you going to ask Bossman for help?"

True, if Summer had a solution, she wouldn't have just sat by while Yvette got dragged through the mud.

Should I ask Fraser? He probably would help...

Yvette saw her hesitating and raised a perfectly shaped brow. "Summer, I know you mean well. think you and Shelly were the two people I could trust the most. But that b*tch Shelly ran off to team the moment I fell."

She paused for a moment before continuing. "I really treasure our friendship. And

I know you don't like mixing personal matters with interests. You and Bossman

Summer knew how strong-willed Yvette was. "If it ever gets too much for you, I have some money. Worst

Summer reached out, teasingly lifting Yvette's chin and stroking it. "While I still have some money, I'll generously sponsor you for once."

Meanwhile at the Graham Mansion, Diana wore a dark designer suit, her makeup light and understated, lacking her usual sharp and commanding presence. She sat properly on a pinewood couch, her posture rigid.

The Graham Mansion was massive, blending modern and traditional styles. The grand hall alone had nearly ten large red doors, each guarded by a servant.

Diana had been sitting upright, waiting for almost two hours. She was growing impatient but didn't dare lose her temper.

After all, meeting Helen was a hard-won opportunity.

Just then, one of the red doors swung open. Helen emerged, flanked by two servants, walking unhurriedly.

Diana immediately stood up and bowed slightly. "Madam Graham, hello. I'm Diana, the wife of Simon Smith from Smith Group."

She gestured toward the delicate gift box on the table. "This is a thousand-year- old herb from Archerale Hill. Our family has kept it for nearly ten years. I heard that you've been feeling weak lately, so I specially brought it to nourish your health."

Helen glanced at it indifferently and nodded. A servant stepped forward, took the gift, and retreated.

Helen, supported by the two servants, sat at the head seat. After a brief pause, she said mildly, "That's very thoughtful of you."

Diana smiled flatteringly. "Our family has some connections with the Graham family. I'm not sure if you remember, but when Mr. Graham Sr. was in the military, my grandfather was one of his subordinates."

Helen took a sip of teå. “Diana, just say what you came to say."

Diana observed Helen carefully. The elderly woman was dressed in a fully

custom-made dark purple cheongsam with intricate patterns. Though nearly 80,

her meticulous self-care made her look barely in her sixties.

Her silver hair was combed neatly, and her kind expression concealed the

shrewdness necessary to helm Havenbrook's most powerful family.

Diana smiled, her voice lowering. "I came today because I'm afraid the Graham family's bossman being

deceived."

Helen's usually calm eyes flickered slightly at the mention of her grandson, Fraser. "Oh?"

"You might not know this, but the Graham Group recently allocated one billion dollars to the Stewart family's global project. Not long ago, they even spent a fortune to secure the Marloux agency rights for them. Could it be that Mr. Graham has fallen under Summer's spell?"

Helen lowered her gaze, giving the document a brief, indifferent glance. Her aged voice was unreadable. "You seem quite invested in my family's affairs."

Diana tensed. "I wouldn't dare."

Helen's tone cooled. "My grandson has always done as he pleases. And as for the Graham Group, whether it's one billion or ten billion, we wouldn't even blink."

"Yes." Diana quickly lowered her stance. "But didn't you specifically have last night's trending topic about Mr. Graham and the Stewart family removed?"

The moment she said this, Helen's sharp gaze cut across the room like a blade. Diana broke into a cold sweat and confessed directly. "Madam Graham, I didn't mean to pry. The Stewart family stole the Marloux deal from us, so we hold a grudge. But at the same time, I also noticed that Mr. Graham's feelings for Summer go beyond a casual fling. Knowing how noble the Graham family is, I wanted to give you a kind reminder."

After Diana left, Helen's wrinkled hands tilted her teacup and poured the tea out.

Her voice carried a trace of irritation. "This tea is tainted with impurities, yet you still served it to me?"

The housekeeper, Karena, immediately stepped forward with a respectful bow. "This tea has been sitting for a while. The servants failed to check it properly and caused you displeasure. I'll brew you a fresh cup right away."

The water boiled, pouring into the porcelain teacup. The fine red tea released a delicate aroma.

Helen slowly lifted the cup and took another sip. "Now this is how tea should taste."

Karena understood the meaning behind her words and responded accordingly. "Tea has its own grades. The freshest, highest-quality leaves are naturally the best. Inferior ones aren't worthy of your taste. People are the same."

Helen's gentle expression curved into a subtle, intriguing smile.

"In that case, let Ms. Stewart has a taste of what it means to drink the finest tea of the upper class."

Yvette had another event to attend. After chatting with her, Summer went to watch a daytime movie alone.

Her phone was on silent.

When she stepped out of the theater, her screen was filled with missed calls and messages from Jasper and Julia.

Jasper texted, "Summer, are you feeling unwell today? Why didn't you come to work?"

Come Back Home

Julia texted, "Summer, come back home. I will make you something delicious."

Julia continued, "I was blind before. Give me a chance to love you properly."

Summer glanced at the message but did not reply. She turned off her phone screen and wandered aimlessly through the mall.

If, in the past, she had felt reluctance, resentment, or questions about the Stewart family, her heart was now gradually growing cold.

Yet, she was still conflicted about whether to return to work at Stewart Group.

Her original reason for joining Stewart Group was simply to get closer to Jasper and Julia, to be their good daughter.

But in truth, Summer never liked business management. She loved drawing and interior design.

Perhaps it was because, as a child, she had been treated with cold indifference by Yolanda. Since then, she had always loved drawing warm and cozy houses.

In the past, Summer's paintings had even won awards.

But learning to paint was too expensive, so Yolanda could not possibly allow her to study it.

Later, after she was taken back to the Stewart family, she entered the family business, and painting was set aside.

Now, however, as her disappointment in the Stewart family deepened, the thought of interior design resurfaced in her mind.

But she was now the director of Stewart Group

She couldn't really just walk away from an annual salary of 800 thousand dollars and 30 percent equity.

As she pondered, she strolled through the mall and unknowingly arrived at the entrance of a high-end men's clothing store.

A sales associate at the door greeted her. "Miss, would you like to come in and have a look? We've just launched some new arrivals. It's a great present for your boyfriend."

Summer's steps halted.

Through the glass window, a silk tie with blue stripes caught her eye.

A memory of last night flashed through her mind. The way that man had gone too

far, even tying her hands with a tie. And that tie had also been blue.

At the thought, Summer's face grew warm.

The sales associate, quick to read the situation, said, "This one is custom-made by a renowned designer. It

Summer took out her card and swiped 2,500 dollars.

Holding the elegantly packaged tie in one hand, she prepared to leave the mall. **Finished

Taking the elevator down to the underground parking lot, she was suddenly stopped by two men in black suits who appeared out of nowhere, blocking her path.

"Ms. Stewart, our madam invites you for tea,"

Summer frowned, recalling the time she had been kidnapped. She took a cautious step back. "I don't know any madam."

"It's Madam Graham of the Graham family."

So, Summer was invited to the Graham Mansion.

The Graham family's century-old mansion stood atop Havenbrook's mountain, nestled in a tranquil landscape with lush green trees.

Almost the entire mountaintop was Graham property, and even the private road leading up was rarely traveled by outsiders.

After getting out of the car, Summer was led by well-trained servants through a vast courtyard, then along a red corridor, before arriving at a garden.

There, a dignified elderly woman sat, sipping tea.

A servant stepped forward and bowed to report.

Helen's deep eyes swept over Summer, examining her from head to toe with an undisguised, probing gaze.

Standing there, Summer felt as if she were an item being appraised before auction.

The woman before her wore a simple white dress, with slight ruffles at the collar- minimalist yet elegant.

The dress hugged her figure, accentuating her slender, well-proportioned curves. She wore no jewelry, and her lightly curled, chestnut-colored hair was casually pinned back, revealing a delicate face with bright eyes and pearly teeth.

She was indeed a little beauty. No wonder Fraser liked her.

Helen slowly withdrew her gaze. "Ms. Stewart, have a seat.”

Summer had no idea why Helen had suddenly invited her. Her only impression of Helen was from that phone call she had made to Fraser.

A call filled with warmth and motherly concern.

Helen seemed gentle and kind, but between her brows was a quiet authority that commanded respect without anger It made Summer feel inexplicably uneasy "Madam Graham hello"

The garden was filled with rare and exquisite flowers-even the legendary herb was present.

The only sound in the garden was that of tea being poured, carrying an indescribable sense of pressure that made the air feel heavy.

Helen spoke unhurriedly. "Ms. Stewart, do you know how to appreciate tea?"

A servant handed her a freshly brewed cup.

Summer accepted it and took a small sip.

The tea was bright in color, rich in fragrance, smooth like silk, followed by a lingering sweetness.

Even though she knew little about tea, Summer could tell this was of the highest quality.

"This is good tea."

Helen smiled slightly, as if making a casual remark about the weather.
