Chapter 1371: Just give 1370

International airports usually have places to exchange money, and Tan Rou found one according to the signs. However, the machines here didn’t seem very secure; there were people everywhere, and it didn’t feel safe at all.

Tan Rou used her body to shield her wallet and then took out a stack of bills from inside. After exchanging the money, she immediately stuffed the new bills into her bag.

There were quite a few people sneaking peeks at her, but Tan Rou pretended not to notice. She walked towards the restroom, and a few women followed her there.

Once in the restroom, she simply opened her bag and took out a one-hundred-dollar bill. Then she quickly stuffed the rest of the money into the travel bag worn on her back.

When she was about to exit, a young girl with dyed gray hair and three earrings in one ear stopped her. The girl asked with a grin, “Hey, beauty, which country are you from?”

Tan Rou acted as if she didn’t understand, showing a puzzled expression. She then spoke in a very obscure language, “Where I’m from is none of your concern. Don’t block my way.”

The young girl naturally couldn’t understand Tan Rou, but she thought Tan Rou was asking why she was blocking her. So, she explained eagerly, “I just saw you withdraw a lot of money from the ATM, which isn’t a good thing. How about you hand the money over, and I’ll keep it safe for you?”

Tan Rou smiled, thinking to herself that this person sure had a way with words, making robbery sound so righteous. If she were a fool, she probably would have handed over the money obediently.

Though she was cursing inwardly, Tan Rou’s face didn’t show any sign of it. She kept up her puzzled look and continued speaking in the language the other couldn’t understand, “If I gave you the money, I’d be the real fool. Are there so many criminals these days? If not thieves, then robbers, and what’s next? Terrorists throwing bombs in a little while?”

The would-be robber couldn’t comprehend Tan Rou’s speech and continued, “Don’t be nervous, just give me all the money in your bag, and I promise I’ll let you go safely.” She finished speaking and pointed at Tan Rou’s bag.

“Why are you wasting your breath on her?” Another girl emerged, not only with earrings but also a lip piercing, looking fierce. “Hey, little girl, just hand over the money. As long as you give it to us, we won’t harm you,” she said.

Tan Rou felt somewhat speechless. Had these people not realized yet that she couldn’t understand them?

“Does she not understand what we’re saying?” The first girl who attempted the robbery realized the issue and then asked, “Hey, can you speak her language?”

The other girl, growing impatient, said, “Stop talking nonsense, just grab the money and run. I haven’t eaten all day, and I’m going to starve if we don’t get some money soon.”

Then, she tried to snatch Tan Rou’s wallet.

Tan Rou dodged her attack with a swift move and taunted them in the language they were speaking, “You aren’t even fit to be robbers. I can’t understand a word you’re saying. How do you expect to ask me for money?”

The robbers were furious. “You understand what we’re saying?”

Tan Rou smiled and said, “Not only do I understand, but I also speak it… Help, there’s a robbery happening here!”

After shouting a couple of times, Tan Rou ran towards the outside of the restroom, looking back and making faces at them while she ran, “You guys have such short legs, you can’t catch up to me. If you want to be robbers, you should learn a few more languages before you try again, lest you rob someone who doesn’t understand what you’re saying.”

The robbers were truly enraged now and didn’t care where they were anymore; they pounced towards Tan Rou.

Tan Rou got outside the restroom, looked up at the surveillance camera with a smile, and said, “Watch carefully, this is self-defense.”

As the robbers all rushed out together, Tan Rou shouted in an internationally understood language, “There’s a robbery!”

Only after drawing everyone’s attention did she take action to subdue the robbers. She was very fast, handling each one with a couple of swift moves.

After knocking several people to the ground, Tan Rou stepped back a few paces in fright. “That scared me to death. These two blocked the restroom door and demanded money from me. When I refused, they tried to hit me. It was utterly terrifying,” she said.

Chapter 1372: 1371 Airport Manager

Although everyone spoke different languages, the passengers’ eyes were fine, and they could still tell who looked like the good guys and who looked like the bad guys.

When Tan Rou had defeated the several robbers, applause broke out at the scene, and she heard someone asking, “Is this kung fu?”

Some of the bolder ones came directly up to ask her for a photo together, even asking if they were shooting a movie and where the camera was hidden?

Tan Rou politely replied, “I’m sorry, I don’t do photos. What just happened wasn’t a movie scene. I actually encountered robbers, and they were trying to rob me. But their skills seemed quite weak, and they couldn’t steal my money.”

There were more righteous people too, one of whom reminded Tan Rou, “Miss, given what’s happened, you need to report this to the airport. It’s negligence on the part of airport security. How could they let robbers into the airport?”

Tan Rou felt like laughing; the airport’s security was terribly lax, not only had they allowed robbers to come in, but a little thief had sneaked in too. She wondered how he had managed to sneak in, especially considering his age; he wasn’t even past the age of guardianship. The thought of an unaccompanied child thieving at the airport was just ludicrous.

“Thank you for your advice. I will contact the airport staff immediately. They must give me an explanation for today’s events, or I won’t leave easily,” Tan Rou said. Her main objective was still to meet with the person in charge, as she needed to negotiate with them if she wanted to take Agila away.

Ten minutes after the incident, the airport staff finally arrived at the scene leisurely. Seeing the people lying on the ground, they were not very surprised; they even greeted them as if meeting old friends, saying, “You guys are here again?”

The girl with grey hair got up from the ground, touched her face, and cursed discontentedly, “Trash, ran into a tough opponent today, really bad luck.”

The staff said, “Hurry up and leave. Don’t come back to the airport again. If you do and we find you, we will definitely call the police to arrest you.”

Hearing their way of handling it, Tan Rou asked puzzledly, “They are robbers, why would you let them go?”

The staff answered, “They are all minors. Even if we catch them, it won’t be of much use. At most, they would be held at the police station for a couple of days and then released quickly.”

“Huh!” Tan Rou scoffed, “So, you’re just condoning their criminal behavior?”

The staff said, “This is what our manager has decided. If you are dissatisfied with this policy, you can discuss it with him.”

Of course, Tan Rou was going to speak to the manager. She said, “Please show me the way; I need an explanation for today’s incident.”

The staff, not believing she could get an explanation from the manager, said, “I can take you there, but whether you can convince the manager depends on your own skills.”

He led Tan Rou to the airport’s manager, and as for the robbers, Tan Rou didn’t care anymore. After all, she was about to leave this place, and if the airport staff didn’t care, why should she, a mere passerby, bother? Wasn’t today troublesome enough already?

Tan Rou followed the staff to the elevator and rode it to the top floor before stopping.

The staff said indifferently, “Our manager is here. You can go find him yourself.”

Tan Rou felt the airport’s customer service was terrible; she would never come to this airport again. No, she would also never come to this country again. If she ever traveled to Country J again, she was determined to take a different route.

About half an hour later, Tan Rou finally met the airport’s manager, who smiled when he saw her.

“Miss, what can I do for you?” the manager asked with a smile.

Tan Rou said directly, “I encountered a robbery at your airport, but your staff insisted on letting the robbers go. What does this mean?”

Still smiling, the manager said, “I know who you are talking about, but regarding your complaint, I can only say I’m sorry because I can’t control them either.”

Chapter 1373: 1372 Gang Boss’s Daughter

“Why?” Tan Rou asked, “Could it be that their backgrounds are very strong?”

Unexpectedly, the person in charge actually nodded. He said, “The girl with the gray hair comes from a significant background. Her dad is the boss of the biggest local gang. Even the police don’t dare to mess with the gang, so we can’t do anything about those kids.”

“Haven’t they been doing this sort of thing for a while now? Haven’t you thought of a way to deal with them?” Tan Rou asked.

“We have,” the person in charge replied. “But they don’t just barge in forcibly. Every time they come in, they enter through the ticket checkpoint, and then stay in the airport for several days before leaving. When they get thirsty or hungry, they rob others for money. With the money, they buy something to eat. If they don’t get money, they keep going hungry.”

Tan Rou’s mouth twitched. She really couldn’t understand what those girls were thinking. At their age, wasn’t there anything better to do? Why did they insist on robbing at the airport? Thinking of their appearance, Tan Rou had a guess—perhaps these young girls were going through a rebellious phase, seeking some thrill.

She thought of Liang Lu. Liang Lu had also been a little thug once, but she was very principled. She would never engage in robbery. Most of the time, she took action to help others.

“What about the victims of their robberies?” Tan Rou asked. “Won’t they complain about you?”

The person in charge, while flipping through his phone, replied with a smile, “Mostly, we offer the victims a substantial compensation. Once they receive the money, they don’t bother us anymore.”

“That’s quite the crude method,” Tan Rou commented.

The person in charge looked up, his eyes barely visible, and looked at Tan Rou. “I don’t want to waste your time either, so please make your demands. If you want money, we can compensate you too.”

Tan Rou wasn’t lacking money, so what did she need the compensation for? But now, there indeed was a condition she wanted to discuss with the person in charge.

“If you can agree to one thing, I can forgo the compensation,” Tan Rou said.

The person in charge’s eyes opened a slit. “State your condition.”

Tan Rou said, “I met a little boy at your airport. He is the son of my friend’s sister. I want you to take him away and provide me with a proof for it.”

The person in charge’s eyes fully opened, and he said to Tan Rou with a smile, “I can provide that proof, but you’ll have to do another favor for me.”

Tan Rou didn’t want to make a losing deal. She said, “One thing in exchange for another. If you’re asking me to do you another favor, that makes it two favors. Why should I help you?”

The person in charge said, “Being a victim of a robbery only entitles you to compensation, not a bargaining chip for other matters. Anyway, I have plenty of time; you can take your time and reply when you’ve considered it.”

For the first time since her rebirth, Tan Rou felt such a great loss. The key issue was that she had no way to refuse the person in charge’s request. If she did not agree, then she wouldn’t be able to take Aji along on the plane or get Aji out.

“Let’s first talk about your matter,” Tan Rou sighed, then sat down on the chair beside, “If it’s too difficult, then I won’t do it. After all, he isn’t my child. I don’t need to put in so much effort for him.”

“I need you to take care of the trouble that little brat is causing us,” the person in charge said. “The surveillance footage of your fight with them has been sent to me. Looking at your performance, you are quite powerful indeed.”

“Are you joking with me?” Tan Rou scoffed. “I am the victim here. Not only do you not help me, the victim, get justice, but you also want me to deal with the perpetrator. Do you think this request is reasonable?”

The person in charge shook his head slightly, squinted, and chuckled, “The request is very unreasonable, but I believe in your ability. You can definitely handle them, especially since you just did.”

Even if she couldn’t subdue those female thugs, it wouldn’t really matter; the airport wouldn’t suffer much loss. In any case, things couldn’t get worse than they already were.

Chapter 1374: 1373 put forward conditions

Tan Rou really wanted to grab the chair beneath her and slam it down on the head of the person in charge, cracking open that head hanging on his neck to see exactly what kind of mess was stuffed inside.

“What if I refuse?” Tan Rou asked.

The person in charge slid a check across the table, “This is your compensation. While the bank is still open, you better hurry and cash it.”

Tan Rou snatched the check and carefully placed it in her wallet, “Fine, I’ll take care of those female thugs for you, but you have to agree to a condition.”

The person in charge gestured, “Please, go ahead.”

Tan Rou said reluctantly, “Before I deal with them, you need to ensure my friends’ safety, arrange a quiet room for them to wait for me, and the kid needs to stay with them as well.”

The person in charge agreed immediately and asked Tan Rou if she needed anything else.

Tan Rou replied, “No need, I’ll handle the trouble on my own.”

Such rotten luck, why did she think of taking a walk after getting off the plane? If she hadn’t left the airplane, she wouldn’t have encountered Agira, nor would have had the currency exchange mishap, and certainly wouldn’t have run into the robbery.

They could have been on their way, only a few more hours before reaching the international airport of J Country’s capital.

The person in charge arranged rooms for Shang Jin and his group, and incidentally took care of compensating the money Agira owed the plump lady, who left muttering curses under her breath.

Since Tan Rou wasn’t there to handle the situation, Shang Jin asked with concern, “Where’s my Tan Rou?”

The person in charge replied with a smile, “Miss Rou is carrying out a secret mission. Once she’s done, she’ll come back and regroup with you.”

Shang Jin asked, “What secret mission?”

The person in charge squinted and smiled, “I’ve said it’s a secret mission, so how can I tell you? Rest assured, we’ll definitely protect her. You stay here without worry; she won’t abandon you.”

While they were talking, a staff member brought Lang Yue over. Lang Yue was clearly dissatisfied, “This is too much. We’re passengers, how can you ask us to do something so dangerous?”

Upon hearing Lang Yue’s voice, Shang Jin quickly darted to the doorway, “Lang Yue, what’s going on?”

As soon as Lang Yue saw Shang Jin, he started relaying what had just happened.

Lang Yue had also heard about the fight, saying it was an Asian girl who defeated several female thugs at the restroom entrance. He suspected it was Tan Rou, and indeed, it turned out to be her, as he encountered Tan Rou on the way.

Lang Yue had just gotten his ticket and was about to call Tan Rou when he saw her passing by. He promptly stopped her to ask where she was going.

Tan Rou answered, “I’ve got some things to take care of right now. Go and meet up with Sister Shang Jin first.”

Lang Yue said, “Does your business have to be done right now? Our plane is going to take off soon, and if we delay any longer, we won’t be able to leave today.”

After hesitating for a moment, Tan Rou replied, “If I don’t make it back in time, you go with Sister Shang Jin. I’ll follow up after I handle things.”

After that, Tan Rou left. Lang Yue was too curious about what Tan Rou was up to, so he followed her and ended up witnessing the scene where Tan Rou fought the thugs.

“This is just too much, Tan Rou is the victim here, why should she have to go up against those thugs?” Lang Yue yelled at the person in charge, “I’m going to call the police and have you arrested!”

Shang Jin was also extremely angry, but she knew calling the police was useless, as the cops were in cahoots with these people.

“We need to help Tan Rou,” Shang Jin declared.

“You can’t leave,” the person in charge blocked them, “Wait until Miss Rou has dealt with everything, and she’ll come back for you. If we don’t treat you well, she will definitely be angry.”

“I’m angry right now!” Shang Jin exclaimed, “Are you sick or something? Why should Tan Rou handle your thugs for you?”

The person in charge wasn’t at all annoyed; pointing at Agira, he said, “If she wants to take this little boy away, she’ll have to meet my demands. Otherwise, there’s no way for you to take the boy with you.”

Chapter 1375: Fight at 1374

Tan Rou looked for the figures of those few people inside the airport hall and finally found them at a staircase corner, all seven of them—three boys and four girls. The ones who had cornered Tan Rou in the restroom were these girls.

Watching the seven young people, either squatting or standing, Tan Rou felt amused. She was reminded of a fairy tale, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, although there was no Snow White here, there were definitely seven dwarves.

The seven “dwarves” hadn’t noticed Tan Rou; they were huddled together sharing three boxes of fast food, presumably bought with the money those boys had snatched because the girls hadn’t managed to get any.

The girl with gray hair cursed as she ate, devouring a whole box of fast food by herself, which meant she must be the leader of this seven-person team.

As Tan Rou approached, the young delinquents were quite alert and immediately took defensive stances upon seeing her.

The leading girl said, “It was this woman who attacked us. We didn’t even have a chance to fight back before she knocked us down.”

A boy with gray hair and three earrings said, “Darling, wait here, I’ll go teach her a lesson for you.”

Tan Rou was somewhat surprised because the person-in-charge had also said these kids were minors. When she was a minor, she was still sitting in school, but these kids were already out mingling in society and even had established boyfriend-girlfriend relationships. Indeed, heroes stem from youth; they, the older ones, were truly outdated.

“I didn’t come here to fight with you,” Tan Rou, hands in her pants pockets, posed nonchalantly, “I came to have a chat with you.”

The boy with gray hair shouted, “Why should we talk to you? If you want to talk with us, let’s talk with our fists!”

Tan Rou smiled slightly, “I really did come to talk to you. I don’t want to use violence to solve this problem, but since you don’t agree with my approach, let’s use yours then.”

She flexed her wrists and glanced towards the group of “dwarves,” contemplating who to strike first. The girls, seemingly frightened by her already, didn’t dare rush forward and could only shout from behind.

Tan Rou shook her head slightly and then clenched her fists. Since a fight was inevitable, might as well have a good one—she had encountered so many issues today and was feeling rather frustrated.

The boys were a bit tougher than the girls, but they were all teenagers after all; how much damage could they do? Moreover, seven people sharing three boxes of fast food, how could they be full? With hungry bellies, no matter how loud they were, they didn’t have the strength to fight.

The first to be struck by Tan Rou was the boy with gray hair. He appeared fierce but actually lacked strength, and she knocked him down with a single punch. The remaining two boys were somewhat more difficult to handle, but Tan Rou subdued them with a bit of effort.

The girls had already received a round of knocks from Tan Rou, and seeing that their male friends also couldn’t win against her, they threatened with hardness, “If you dare lay hands on us, watch out—my dad will come looking for problems with you.”

Grasping the lead girl’s hair with one hand, Tan Rou chuckled, “Well, your dad probably won’t find me, as I’m about to get on a plane and leave. I won’t be coming to this country again. No matter how formidable your dad is, he can’t travel thousands of miles just to find trouble with me, can he?”

The gray-haired girl still resisted, “Let go of me, I want to duel with you!”

Tan Rou delivered a kick behind her knee, “Are you fit to duel with me? A group of you couldn’t beat just me, and now you want a duel, that’s just laughable.”

The pain twisted the gray-haired girl’s facial expression. She tried to grab Tan Rou, but Tan Rou dislocated her arms with a reverse move, making the girl scream out, unable to move anymore.

Despite the ruckus, no security personnel came to intervene—it seemed like the airport authorities had been informed in advance.

The gray-haired girl shouted, “What are you lying there for? Come help me! This detestable woman, I will not let her walk out of this airport alive!”

The people lying on the ground had originally intended to confront Tan Rou, but with one glance from her, they lay back down, whimpering and unwilling to move forward even an inch.

The gray-haired girl was both angry and annoyed; she couldn’t move her legs and was like a trussed-up duck, able to only squawk helplessly.

Chapter 1376: After growing up, come find me, 1375.

“Some hot-blooded youths, can you stop and listen to me speak?” Tan Rou asked with a smile, “If you still want to fight, I can accompany you for a few more hours. But next time, I won’t hold back.”

The girl with grey hair was tired, she stopped struggling and asked, “What do we have to do for you to let me go?”

Tan Rou replied, “It’s not about me letting you go, but about you letting go of the passengers inside the airport.”

The girl with grey hair said, “I didn’t do anything to them, I just asked them for some money to eat.”

Tan Rou was amused by her, “Blocking the women’s restroom and demanding money is an act of robbery, not borrowing. Moreover, borrowing entails returning what was taken. Your behavior is robbery and against the law. Now that you’re starting to rob people, what’s next, planning on robbing banks when you grow up?”

The girl with grey hair muttered under her breath, “What business is it of yours? My own dad doesn’t care about me, you shouldn’t either.”

Tan Rou was taken aback, she let go of the girl’s hair and said, “I heard your dad’s the local gang leader, that makes you a little gangster princess, pretty cool.”

“Not cool at all!” The girl with grey hair suddenly felt wronged. “He doesn’t care about me at all, doesn’t give me money, and I have no way to eat!”

Tan Rou took out some wrapped candy from her small bag, “Hey, kid, want some candy?”

ReadNovelFull.com

The girl with grey hair glared at her, “I don’t have hands!”

Tan Rou laughed, unwrapped the candy, and stuffed it into her mouth, “This is my boyfriend’s favorite candy, now you get to have it.”

After eating the candy, the girl with grey hair calmed down and asked Tan Rou, “Do you have a boyfriend too?”

Tan Rou didn’t answer her directly but instead asked her a question, “Is that boy with the same hair color as you on the ground your boyfriend?”

“Yes.” The girl with grey hair, her legs and hands aching, could only sit on the ground to talk with Tan Rou, “He’s my boyfriend and my lackey. One day, I’m going to create an even bigger gang than my dad’s!”

Tan Rou taunted, “I’ve heard that gang leaders are supposed to be quite formidable, are you strong enough to be one?”

The girl with grey hair shamelessly said, “Then teach me your kung fu. I saw what you did just now, you’re so impressive, you beat us all in an instant.”

“That’s my secret technique, I can’t just teach it to you,” Tan Rou lied to her, “And I’m not from this country. If you really want to learn from me, you’ll have to come back with me.”

“I’ll go with you!” The girl with grey hair agreed without hesitation, “It’s useless for me to stay here, might as well go to another country.”

“What about if your parents miss you?” Tan Rou asked.

“My mom’s already dead, and my dad doesn’t care about me,” said the girl with grey hair. “Can I know your name? If you’re not willing to take me as your disciple now, I’ll work hard to grow up a bit, and then I’ll go to your country to find you.”

Tan Rou took her arm back, “Not a bad idea, but I’m not interested in taking you as my disciple.”

“Why not?” The girl with grey hair was excited, then she noticed she could move her arms, “Huh? My arms don’t hurt anymore, they can move! Do you know magic? Why can my arms move now?”

“That’s another one of my exclusive skills,” Tan Rou continued deceiving her, “In my country, a lot of people can do this trick, and I’m the weakest of them.”

The girl with grey hair looked at Tan Rou with admiration, “Wow, the people in your country are so impressive, I want to go to your country.”

“Sure,” Tan Rou told her, “Stop robbing people at the airport, go back to school and study well, learn our country’s language, and then come find me.”

“Okay, I will definitely come to find you!” The girl with grey hair said, covering her chest, “My name is Milia Herlag, can you tell me your name?”

“Tan Rou,” Tan Rou said, “I’ll give you my contact information, and when you come to my country, I’ll personally receive you.”

Milia’s eyes shone, “Mm-hm, I’ll study hard, and when I grow up, I’ll definitely come to find you!”

Tan Rou subconsciously patted her head, “Mm, I’ll be waiting for you.”

Chapter 1377: 1376 easily solved

Milia was fourteen years old this year; in her country, one wasn’t considered an adult until sixteen. However, in her small group, there was only one boy who was of age, and the rest were all around fourteen or fifteen.

The airport manager had agreed to arrange a flight for Tan Rou and her team, so she wasn’t in a hurry. She crossed her legs and sat down on the ground, starting a conversation with these young people.

Before speaking, she had bought each of the troublemakers a fast-food meal, asking them to eat while listening to her. Tan Rou thought that if she ever retired, she could open a youth management center to specifically educate these rebellious youngsters. Thinking this way, she realized she really would have a lot to do in her old age.

“Where are your parents?” Tan Rou asked, “Why aren’t you in school? Why are you here being robbers?”

The boy with gray hair took a bite of his meal and replied, “My parents don’t care about me anymore. I do whatever I want.”

Tan Rou frowned, “According to the law, you’re still minors, so even if you commit crimes, you don’t have to bear legal responsibility. But once you’re grown up, if you still do these things, then you must face legal punishment.”

The gray-haired boy didn’t care at all; he boastfully said, “When I grow up, I’ll just live in prison every day. I’ll have food and drink and a place to sleep. How happy I’ll be!”

Tan Rou snorted, “You think it’s quite wonderful.”

“Big sister, what are you doing here?” Milia respected Tan Rou a lot, “Are you touring our country? I can be your guide, and I won’t ask for money.”

Tan Rou replied, “No, I’m just passing through here. I have to catch a flight to J country soon, then deal with some work.”

“What work do you do?” Milia asked curiously.

Tan Rou did not directly answer Milia’s question. She took a small tablet computer from her bag, operated it for a while, and a little figure appeared on the screen.

“Do you work with computers?” Milia couldn’t understand what Tan Rou was doing, but she could tell she was very skilled.

“I design robotics software,” Tan Rou said, explaining her job simply, “Robots need programs to operate, and I’m responsible for writing these programs. Then I hand the completed programs over to another department, and once they install the programs into the robots, the robots can work.”

“Sister, you are so amazing!” Milia asked, “Can I be like you someday?”

“Yes, as long as you’re willing to work hard, you can achieve it,” Tan Rou said, “I have a company. If you pass my tests in the future, you can work in my company.”

Milia was full of confidence, “Okay, I want to work at your company!”

Her words sparked dissatisfaction among her friends; they blamed Milia: “Milia, if you go to school, what will happen to us?”

Milia was a bit conflicted, “Yeah, you are all my subordinates, what will you do if I go back to school?”

“You all could go back to school too,” Tan Rou said. “Then, when you’re in college, come to my country and I’ll take you on a tour of my factory. My factory is very large, almost as big as this airport. I also have a new shopping mall, which has many newly produced high-tech items.”

To convince them, Tan Rou showed them a video of the mall. Seeing the large mall, the unsophisticated children were all agog, cheering incessantly, though it wasn’t clear what exactly they were so excited about.

“Beautiful sister, can we also visit your home?” the gray-haired boy asked, “I want to see big robots!”

Tan Rou agreed with him, “If you can get into college, I’ll let you visit my mall and factory.” Then she said to the others, “The same for you, if you can get into college, I’ll invite you to visit.”

Milia took charge, “Friends, listen to me, I’m going to Sister Tan Rou’s country. Those who want to come with me, raise your hand.”

All the children raised their hands.

Watching them, Tan Rou suddenly wanted to laugh. These kids weren’t bad, they just lacked someone to guide them onto the right path.

Chapter 1378: Set off again in 1377

After dealing with the issue of the children, Tan Rou wanted to find the person in charge of the airport. This time, the airport authority should have no reason to refuse her again.

“Congratulations, Miss Tan Rou, you’ve succeeded!” The person in charge at the airport still had that same beaming smile, as if that was the only expression he had. “Regarding the proof you need, I have already prepared it. There happens to be a plane flying directly to Country J that will make an unexpected stop at our airport in an hour. You and your friends can take that plane to leave.”

Clutching the proof provided by the person in charge, Tan Rou coolly said, “Hmm, I know.”

The person in charge said, “Miss Tan Rou, I know you’re not pleased, but I really can’t think of anyone else besides you.”

Tan Rou turned around and said, “You don’t want to offend the local gangs, nor do you want to pay too much to deal with this matter. The only solution is to let an unfortunate soul help you out, and I just happen to be that unfortunate soul. I suppose this isn’t the first time you’ve had someone solve the problem of those little hoodlums for you, is it?”

The person in charge narrowed his eyes with a smile, “Miss Tan Rou is indeed a clever person.”

“Hmph,” Tan Rou said, “You’re much cleverer than I am.” Having said that, Tan Rou left the person in charge’s office. She needed to cash the check he had given her. After such a long delay, it was good to get some compensation.

Shang Jin and the others were waiting anxiously in the room. If there hadn’t been someone keeping watch outside, they would have gone to find Tan Rou by now.

“Damn it, I really want to knock these guards out with a punch,” Shang Jin clenched his fist. “We shouldn’t have come here. If we had stayed on the plane, we wouldn’t have encountered so many problems.”

Lang Yue said, “I’ll pretend to have a stomach ache in a moment. You provide a distraction for me, and I’ll go find the boss.”

Shang Jin nodded and said, “Okay, but be careful to not get caught.”

Just as they were about to execute their plan, Tan Rou suddenly appeared at the door. She said to the guards, “I’ve taken care of your supervisor’s business, he should have notified you by now? You can leave, we will be leaving soon as well.”

The guards then left.

Seeing Tan Rou return, Shang Jin immediately asked, “Tan Rou, are you hurt?”

Tan Rou replied, “I’m not hurt. The issue has been resolved now, and I’ve obtained the necessary proof from the person in charge, so we can pack up and leave.”

Shang Jin asked, “Can we take the child with us as well?”

Tan Rou showed her the proof, “We got into trouble just to get this proof, but now that we have it, we can take him with us.”

In a fit of anger Shang Jin said, “Let’s hurry up and leave, I never want to come to this country again!”

Tan Rou agreed with her, “Me neither.”

The group quickly packed up their things, and as soon as the plane landed, they boarded and prepared to leave.

Since it was a last-minute arrangement, they were not seated together, but in separate places. Shang Jin was seated in the middle, the three of them, Tan Rou and the others, were seated at the back, Lang Yue alone at the very last row, and Tan Rou sat with Agila.

This arrangement was likely made by the person in charge since Agila was only nine years old and could not travel alone on a plane.

“I haven’t had the chance to ask you yet, how did you get to this airport?” After all the issues had been taken care of, Tan Rou finally had the opportunity to ask Agila questions.

Agila looked down and answered softly, “I had a fight with my mom, and then I sneaked out.”

Tan Rou asked, “Country J is very far from here, could you really run that far?”

“I came by plane,” Agila told Tan Rou. “At that time, I hid in a cargo box, they didn’t find me, and then I flew up in the sky. When I landed, I was here.”

In some countries, security checks aren’t very strict, and even bombs can be brought onto planes, so Tan Rou wasn’t surprised by Agila sneaking into a cargo box.

“The outside world is very dangerous, and you should have seen that by now. You’re still young, so don’t just run off on your own,” Tan Rou lectured him. “This time, I’m taking you back to find your mom. Once we have found her, you should stay by her side peacefully. If you still want to see other places, wait until you’re older.”

Chapter 1379: Princess of the 1378 Kingdom

Tan Rou spoke, and all the while, Ajila kept his head down. It was only when she asked if he understood that he nodded slightly, as if he hadn’t really taken in what Tan Rou had said.

Tan Rou didn’t mind, she wasn’t Ajila’s parent, and she thought it best to leave the matter of educating children to their parents. Her responsibility was merely to escort the child.

However, before she escorted the child, Tan Rou also quietly inquired about some matters concerning Ajila’s mother. What she learned was that there indeed was a princess named Samiyi in Country J, but she wasn’t the King’s daughter; she was his sister, and his only sister at that.

Furthermore, according to the information Lin Yu had shared with her, the thirty-two-year-old Princess Samiyi was neither married nor had any children.

If Samiyi had no children, then who was Ajila? Was he lying to her?

Initially, Tan Rou had thought of informing Lin Yu about Ajila’s situation and asking for his assistance in returning the boy to his mother, but now that she knew Princess Samiyi was unmarried and childless, Tan Rou suddenly didn’t feel like discussing Ajila anymore.

Moreover, there was another strange point: Lin Yu was unaware of Ajila’s existence, yet Ajila knew Lin Yu and even called him Mr. Lin.

Thinking for a moment and failing to come up with an answer, Tan Rou decided to stop agonizing over it. They would be arriving in Country J soon enough, and the truth would reveal itself then.

She got some sleep, and by the time she woke up, the plane was nearly at the airport in Country J. She yawned, preparing to disembark.

Ajila sitting beside her seemed somewhat nervous. His eyes were fixed on the seat in front of him and his legs were trembling, as if he feared something.

Tan Rou thought he feared being caught in his lies, so she said, “The plane will be landing at the airport soon, so if there’s anything you want to tell me, you’d better do it now. If I find out after landing that everything you’ve told me is a lie, I will hand you over to the police.”

“No!” Ajila shook his head vigorously, “I haven’t told a single lie, you will understand when you see my mom; my mother really is a princess. It’s just…” He trailed off, unwilling to say more.

Tan Rou pressed, “It’s just what?”

Ajila bit his lip and said softly, “I’ve made my mother angry, and I’ve been away for so long. She will be very sad when I return. I don’t want to see my mother cry.”

Tan Rou scoffed coldly, “If you don’t want to see your mother cry, then you shouldn’t have run off. How could she not worry about you after you’ve been gone for so long?”

Somewhere in her words, Tan Rou struck a chord, and Ajila suddenly began to cry. His crying woke up the other passengers who were trying to rest, causing some of them to become irritated.

Tan Rou could only try to comfort Ajila, “Alright, stop crying. You’ll be able to get off the plane and see your mother soon. If you keep making noise, I won’t take you to see your mother.”

Her words were effective; Ajila stopped crying.

After the plane arrived at the airport, Tan Rou and her companions took Ajila to look for the welcoming party, which included the officials she was supposed to collaborate with. Glancing through the crowd, Tan Rou didn’t see Laka or Lin Yu and guessed they must be busy with other matters.

Since they had arrived late, the gates to the Royal Palace were already shut, so they were temporarily arranged to stay at a hotel nearby.

Having slept for a few hours on the plane, Tan Rou wasn’t tired, so after taking a shower, she went for a stroll in the hotel lobby. She had noticed that the lobby was crowded, making it an ideal spot for gathering information.

Luckily, the people in the lobby were all from Country J, with several who had been working in the Royal Palace but missed the closing time and thus had to stay outside.

Tan Rou listened for a while and then naturally joined the conversation.

“I heard you discussing a lot about the Royal Family of Country J, but why didn’t I hear you mention Princess Samiyi?” Tan Rou asked curiously, “I heard she’s the King’s youngest sister, 32 and not married. Is that true?” However, her question seemed to chill the atmosphere of the discussion. As soon as they heard someone asking about Princess Samiyi, they immediately fell silent.

Chapter 1380: The unspeakable 1379

Tan Rou noticed that something was off with the atmosphere; she laughed awkwardly and asked, “Did I ask something I shouldn’t have?”

One of the men with a big beard glanced at her and said, “You’re not from our country, are you?”

Tan Rou replied, “I’m not from J country; I’m from another country and plan to attend an academic conference.”

The bearded man nodded and said, “No wonder you speak the J language so fluently; you’re a student, right? Are you studying linguistics?”

“No.” Since Tan Rou wanted to extract information, she needed to gain these people’s trust, so she made up a specialty, “I’m studying mechanical kinetics.”

The bearded man laughed and said, “Ah, so you’re here for the robotics exchange meeting, huh?”

“Ah? Oh, yes, I’m here for the robotics exchange meeting.” Tan Rou didn’t know which meeting it was but guessed from the name what it was about, “I think it’s an opportunity to broaden my horizons, so I came over.”

The bearded man was very hospitable, “Young lady, sit down and have some food, drink some wine!”

Tan Rou, not good with alcohol and wary of drinking from strangers, only ate some nuts.

“I’m actually a bit curious about the royal family. When I was in college, I heard friends talk about Princess Samiyi; some people say she’s not married yet, is that true?” Tan Rou asked again.

This time more people answered her, but they didn’t tell her about Princess Samiyi, only warned her not to ask anymore to avoid trouble.

Tan Rou immediately stopped asking and said, “Oh, I won’t ask anymore then; I’d better focus on my nuts.”

The group munched on nuts and drank alcohol, and before long, they got drunk. The bearded man who had been talking to Tan Rou suddenly started, “Do you want to know about the princess?”

Tan Rou’s eyes darted around, then she shook her head, “If this is a secret that shouldn’t be shared, I’d rather not hear it.”

The bearded man set his bottle down, wiped his mouth, and said, “Actually, it’s not a secret; many people know about it, it’s just the King doesn’t allow anyone to discuss it.”

His friend immediately stopped him, “Kas, you’ve had too much to drink tonight. Stop drinking; let’s go back and rest.”

The man called Kas waved his hand and said, “I haven’t had too much. With this kind of drink, I could have three more bottles!”

Tan Rou applauded, “You really can hold your liquor!”

Her comment drew Kas’s attention, and he looked at her, “Everyone says the princess hasn’t married because she can’t bear to leave her brother and mother, but in fact… in fact, it’s because the princess already married, her man died, and nobody else knows.”

Kas’s friend immediately covered his mouth; apologizing to Tan Rou, he dragged Kas away.

As Kas was leaving, he kept saying, “The princess actually has a husband, has children…”

The others laughed, “There goes Kas with his nonsense again; we don’t know where he gets these rumors, spouting them every now and then, making them sound so real. People who don’t know any better might think he’s the princess’s husband himself.”

Tan Rou then inquired about Kas, “This Mr. Kas sure is interesting. I wonder where he works, whether I could see him again?”

The talkative person laughed, “You’re not falling for Kas, are you?”

Tan Rou thought to herself that she wasn’t blind enough to fall for this scruffy man.

“Just curious,” Tan Rou said.

After careful thought, the person replied, “Kas seems to run a flower shop nearby. Don’t be fooled by his rough appearance; he’s actually a very meticulous person.”

Tan Rou really couldn’t associate the tall Kas with a florist because he looked too fierce. He didn’t seem like someone who could care for flowers; he resembled a lumberjack more than anything.

“Young lady, you should curb your curiosity,” the person kindly admonished Tan Rou, “In our country, Princess Samiyi is not someone who can be freely discussed. If our conversation reaches the King’s ears, it would bring trouble for us all.”
