Chapter 1331 Tasteless

Charlotte took out her phone and finally saw the messages in the group chat.

No wonder Genevieve invited her out for cake; so that was the reason.

She let out a cold laugh and promptly disbanded both the small and large groups, swiftly removing these people from her contacts list.

"From now on, I'll be busy making money and won't have time for you all to please me. Go have fun wherever you like."

Before those pampered rich girls could react, Charlotte casually pointed at one of them and said, "That Birkin bag you have, wasn't it a gift from me? Give it back now."

D*mn, a package worth more than two hundred thousand, more than two hundred thousand!

How could she have casually given it away in the first place?

Upon hearing this, the pampered rich girl instinctively hugged her bag. After all, it was the only thing she could use to save face. "Lottie, how could you take back something you've already given away?"

"Do you still remember why I gave you this package in the first place?"

The pampered rich girl didn't say a word, so Charlotte spoke up for her, "The aroma lamp I had my eye on was a limited edition. You said you had a friend working at that company and that you'd get one for me as a gift. In return, I gave you this Birkin bag. But it's been almost a year now, have you given me the aroma lamp?"

Charlotte, with her beautiful fox-like eyes slightly narrowed, stared at the pampered rich girl with full confidence, "You better return my bag, or I'll call the police. If this gets big, you'll lose face."

"Go ahead and tell on me then." Since Charlotte said she wouldn't play with them anymore, the pampered rich girl simply decided to break off the pretense.

Charlotte didn't indulge her and immediately dialed 911. She also sneered, "Don't think I can't see through your schemes."

"My family may have gone bankrupt, but Hermayze still has my purchase record. You claim the bag is yours, but you can't even produce a purchase record. So, tell me, who's the loser here?"

Upon seeing that Charlotte was serious and not wanting the police to get involved, the pampered rich girl reluctantly returned the bag to Charlotte, not wanting to embarrass herself.

She also muttered, "I've never seen someone as tasteless as you."

Charlotte overheard and laughed, "Fine, then I have no taste at all! I even gave you a pair of Mikimoto pearl earrings before, worth more than thirty thousand. Give them back to me now!"

Charlotte had been wanting a bag, and seeing their expressions, she didn't hesitate to take out her phone.

Charlotte's luxury items are meticulously organized by a dedicated person, who not only maintains a detailed purchase record.

As long as the item is worth more than twenty thousand, be it clothes, jewelry, or handbags, whoever Charlotte gives it to, the housekeeper accompanying her will definitely report it to the person in charge of keeping track of the luxury items inventory.

At the end of each month, the professional organizer sends Charlotte a document, clearly listing what she has purchased and what she has given away.

Charlotte had gone through all the documents from the past two years, making sure to return everything that had been given to the pampered rich girls present, even though she hadn't received any gifts from them in return.

If you can't return the item, then just consider it as twenty percent off and refund the money to yourself!

Charlotte asked the restaurant staff to help her print out these documents and then opened the PayPal QR code.

As she read out each person's name, they obediently came forward to return items or scanned the code to pay.

She even turned on the payment notification sound. Every few seconds, the system would remind her of the incoming amounts - eight thousand, ten thousand, thirty thousand - the sound never stopped.

For the first time, Charlotte found the sound of money being deposited into her account truly delightful.

Those people were absolutely infuriated by Charlotte's actions. Ironically, Charlotte hadn't initially planned to do this. It was all because of that stubborn person with the Birkin bag who just had to argue with Charlotte!

The pampered rich girls glared at the other girl with resentment, kicking her out of any group they found her in.

It's likely that they won't invite her to hang out anymore.

After those pampered rich girls left one by one, Genevieve, with her hand supporting her chin, lazily asked Charlotte, "Aren't you afraid they won't hang out with you anymore?"

Chapter 1332 How I Used To Waste Money

"Seriously, what do I have to be afraid of?" Charlotte said, checking her PayPal balance without even looking up.

"These people are like parasites, only good for mooching off others. If it weren't for me, do you think they'd know any genuine scions?"

"I must have been blind before, to have actually thought highly of them!"

"Who hasn't been young before?" Charlotte understood her feelings. "If they've helped you grow, then they've served some purpose."

Charlotte showed her phone balance to Genevieve, "I used to have only one hundred thousand in my wallet, but now I have more than two million! I can't believe how much I used to waste money."

One or two thousand may not seem like much, but when accumulated, it becomes a terrifying number.

Genevieve glanced and said, "Hmm, quite a lot."

Charlotte suddenly hugged Genevieve tightly and gave her a big kiss. "Genevieve, everything you did today was so satisfying! Genevieve, knowing you is truly my good fortune!"

Genevieve felt disgusted and pushed away her flaming red lips, “I'm not helping you unconditionally."

Genevieve knew that Jerry was interested in Charlotte for two reasons. Firstly, he wanted to help Armand and Cooper connect with the Pann family, and secondly, Charlotte had a keen sense of fashion.

She realized that earning money by herself wasn't enough; she needed to find people to work for her.

"Feel free to make any requests." Considering how Genevieve stood up for her today, she would do anything for Genevieve, as long as it didn't involve murder or other heinous crimes.

Genevieve cut a piece of cake and took a bite, "Didn't I just say it? You should come work as a manager at Genevieve Orsi Productions."

Charlotte let out a sigh, looking worried, and said, "I thought you were just saying that to save face for me. I've never worked in an entertainment company, but actually..."

She knew Genevieve understood, so she shrugged and didn't say anything more.

Genevieve said, "It's because you have quite a few ex-boyfriends in the circle, and you often hang out at various shows, having a keen sense of the entertainment trends, that I think you're suitable to be a manager."

"Doesn't being a manager require a certificate? I don't have one."

"You have connections..." Genevieve said, raising her hand and pointing to her own eyes, "and these eyes that can spot top-notch celebrities will do just fine."

Not only did Charlotte have many ex-boyfriends, but she was also a face-judger, very picky.

She has dated people both inside and outside her social circle, each of them with attractive appearances and a certain level of fame in their respective fields.

During this period, Charlotte has been working as a receptionist at Forlisle Medical, constantly being scolded by her superiors and doubting whether she is truly worthless. Genevieve's words, like a torch, reignite the dwindling flame within her.

Not long after feeling invigorated, Charlotte hesitated and said, "What if I can't do it?"

"How can you know you can't do it if you haven't even tried?" Genevieve said, both speechless and amused. "Besides, the Charlotte I know isn't like this, always hesitating and looking at others' faces before doing anything."

Charlotte used to be quite proud, but as she entered the workforce, she came to understand many truths, and the sharp edges of her personality were gradually worn away.

After all, there was no one left to be her harbor, shielding her from the wind and rain.

Soon, Charlotte's eyes brightened, and her eyebrows lifted with a hint of excitement. "Since you have so much faith in me, I will definitely work hard and won't let you down."

"I won't let myself down either." She also wanted to prove that even without the Benson family, she was still a valuable person.

Seeing her say this, Genevieve smiled faintly and said, "These jewels and clothes are all gifts for your new job. It's not acceptable to work at a production company without some luxury items by your side."

She knew that after the Benson family's assets were seized, over fifty thousand pieces of jewelry and handbags were taken away by the court.

Genevieve shared her three-year goal with Charlotte. She mentioned that if she achieves her target and Charlotte performs well, in addition to an annual salary of a few million, she would also give Charlotte a share in Genevieve Orsi's company.

Charlotte was so touched that she didn't know what to say, and she wanted to hug Genevieve again.

Chapter 1333 Picking Up My Husband From Work

Genevieve got up first, taking the few portions of dessert that the waiter had wrapped up, and left.

Charlotte called out from behind, "Isn't it still early, Genevieve? Why are you going back? I'm inviting you for a facial treatment!"

"I'm done for now, going to pick up my husband from work."

Charlotte marveled at the magical power of love, but of course, she didn't want to experience this magic herself.

Life is short, and the pursuit of happiness is the ultimate truth.

Charlotte instructed the sales assistants to pack up the items and send them to her apartment. She also ordered a few desserts to take home for her sister to taste.

After leaving Ladym with a cake in hand, Charlotte casually browsed through WhatsApp and noticed someone had tagged her in a group chat.

The other party forwarded some chat screenshots. They were from the socialites who had dessert with Genevieve before. They were complaining that Charlotte had no taste, as she wanted to take back the things she had given away.

This is a club group created by Evan, where all the Scion members enjoy car racing. They have a pretty good relationship with Jerry.

Charlotte wanted to see what the racing club was like, so she asked Jerry to take her there.

Not only is Jerry in this group, but Genevieve is also here.

The upper-class circles value the exchange of benefits. After the Benson family went bankrupt, Charlotte was seen as useless in the eyes of others, with no value to offer. As a result, she was almost kicked out of all the scion groups she used to mingle with.

The only exception is the club's group chat, where people occasionally chat with Charlotte.

Charlotte replied, "When you throw a bone to a dog, it knows to nuzzle your feet to please you. My money didn't just come from nowhere, so why should I give it away to something that's not even as good as a dog?"

Haha, well said Lottie! I like it!

"Is it okay to call you Lottie? That's what Jerry calls you."

To make things easier, everyone in the group had changed to their real names. Charlotte looked at the two people sending messages and felt a bit surprised.

Even though this group of scion enjoys car racing and respects friends with real skills, they are still children of government officials, carrying a bit of the pride typical of the offspring of official families.

Why is she noticing that these two people are being so polite to Jerry, who is involved in the entertainment industry?

Charlotte had already broken up with Jerry and initially wanted to leave the group, but she felt that completely cutting off her connections wouldn't be a good idea.

What if someone in the group ends up becoming her boyfriend in the future?

She left the group chat and saw Jerry's pinned message. With great generosity, she transferred one hundred and eighty thousand to him.

Babe, wishing you a brilliant and shining journey ahead.

After sending the message, she blocked the person and walked out of the building with a light step. She called Jessica on the way, asking when she would get off work, and suggesting they go for a facial treatment later.

Ever since the Benson family went bankrupt, she hadn't set foot in a beauty salon, feeling as if her skin had become wrinkled.

In the evening, Charlotte and Jessica went to their usual beauty salon and had a six-figure hydrolifting treatment. After the treatment, their skin was smooth and radiant, making them look like twenty-year-old girls.

Charlotte told her sister that she would be starting work at Genevieve Orsi Productions in a few days.

Jessica knew that Charlotte was incapable of doing anything, even having someone else write her graduation thesis. But since a friend had arranged a job for her, Jessica just went along with it.

The two of them were enjoying some fruit in an elegant lounge. Jessica said, "If I had known earlier, I would have pushed you to learn something."

Even before Charlotte was born, the Benson Corporation was already one of the top real estate groups in the country, and the Benson family had more money than they could count.

Who would have known that decades later, the Benson family would face such a catastrophe.

And their indulgence and pampering of Charlotte ultimately turned her into a good-for-nothing.

Charlotte popped a piece of cantaloupe into her mouth and said, "Actually, I've learned quite a bit over the past few years. I used to run a fashion account that had more than two hundred thousand followers, and I received tens of thousands in tips."

She continued, "I also understand that it's not easy for Dad to make money, so from now on, even if I spend money, I'll only spend it on myself."

Chapter 1334 Do Not Be Obsessed Anymore

"It seems you've really grown a lot," Jessica said with a smile.

Charlotte hummed at Jessica and after a brief chat, she asked her how things were going with her and Kenneth's work.

The Forlisle Group is huge, and she's just a receptionist. She doesn't get to see Kenneth or Jessica during work hours, and since they both have their own families, she doesn't see them outside of work either.

Jessica said, "I've worked on quite a few projects, and by the end of the year, I should be able to receive an eight-figure bonus."

Benson Corporation is in the real estate business, while Forlisle Group is a leader in the medical field. Jessica, without any relevant connections and suddenly landing a high-level management position, did not find it difficult to move forward.

No matter what project she undertakes, her partners are always surprisingly easy to communicate with, and they even introduce her to numerous relevant connections and resources.

Kenneth's experience was similar; he hardly encountered any setbacks.

Both of them were able to work at Forlisle Group thanks to Timothy's help. Although Timothy didn't mention it, they could understand that he was probably assisting them behind the scenes.

Jessica glanced at Charlotte and sighed, "You say Timothy is so great, but why can't you see it?"

"It's because we know each other too well, and he doesn't like someone like me."

Charlotte shrugged and said, "Look, I've known him for years and there was never a spark between us. He only knew Johanna for a short time, and they got married."

Charlotte, afraid of being nagged by Jessica, quickly said, "I know I owe Timothy a big favor, and I'll repay him gradually in the future. He's already married, so you can't expect me to break up his marriage, can you?"

As Charlotte was speaking, she noticed the phone on the table light up. It was a call from Jerry. She swiped to answer it.

"What's up?"

"Did you block me?" His tone was extremely low.

"My dear friend, if I want to delete, I'll delete," Charlotte said nonchalantly, playing with the fruit on the plate with her fork. "Last time I got drunk, you took me home, and I even gave you a tip for accompanying me to sleep."

Before the man could speak, she continued, "I never date a boyfriend for more than six months, and you've lasted quite a while. I've never treated you unfairly."

Among all her ex-boyfriends, she treated Jerry the best. Tips would start at one hundred thousand. Last time on his birthday, she even went through the trouble of buying him a limited edition tourbillon watch worth several million.

Because of that huge expense, she was even scolded by Jiminy.

"Fine, fine." After a while, Jerry gritted his teeth and said 'fine' twice on the phone before hanging up.

Jessica was right next to Charlotte, and she heard their entire conversation.

Jessica frowned and advised, "Lottie, you're not a twenty-year-old girl anymore, stop being obsessed with men. You're thirty now, it's time to find someone to marry."

In the past, Jiminy always took care of everything, and Charlotte didn't need to worry about the family business. She could do whatever she wanted, but now things have changed.

Jessica has her own little family, so she can't keep supporting Charlotte forever.

"I've already broken up with him, see? I even blocked his number." Charlotte showed her phone to Jessica. "From now on, I'll focus on making money and find a boyfriend who's good at taking care of the family."

." Jessica was at a loss for words.

Catching a glimpse of the person Charlotte just added to her communication blacklist, Jessica was somewhat surprised, "Your boyfriend's name is Jerry?"

Charlotte gave a nod, "In the entertainment industry."

"You always seem to like those male celebrities," Jessica said as she shifted her gaze away.

But she always felt that she had heard this name somewhere before, and it wasn't from a movie or an advertisement, but from someone's mouth.

However, Jessica couldn't remember it at the moment.

As December approached, Jadeborough grew increasingly colder.

After the two children had their weekend off, it just so happened that Armand didn't have much to do either, so he could take a break over the weekend. Genevieve suggested going to a hot spring holiday resort for some fun.

Genevieve wants to take Johanna with her.

Timothy is afraid of crowded places, and Johanna feels uncomfortable staying there. It's fine for her to take Asel with her.

Chapter 1335 Rose Love Letter

This hot spring holiday resort is located in the eastern district of Jadeborough and was acquired by Specter Corporation last year.

The holiday resort has added quite a few new features during its recent renovation, and with substantial investment in advertising, the number of visitors has been consistently high since the beginning of this year. As we entered October, the influx of tourists increased even more, making it nearly impossible to find a room without booking at least a month in advance.

The holiday resort had already reserved the best scenic suites for the boss and his entourage.

A few children entered the holiday resort, as excited as ever. They quickly changed into their swimsuits in the changing room and dashed toward the outdoor children's playground and hot spring.

Armand saw that the hot spring was full of children, his brow furrowing deeper and deeper, as he wanted to go and pull his precious daughter out.

After changing into her swimsuit, Genevieve playfully pulled him over.

Seemingly understanding the man's intentions, she said with a smile, "Mando, can you please not be so tense? They like to play, so just let them have fun."

"It's too dirty," Armand frowned, "and Asel is only one year old. What if she gets infected?"

Genevieve rolled her eyes, "The hot spring water is flowing, and the high temperature naturally kills bacteria. How could there be any infection? Besides, children are not that delicate."

"Am I not delicate and precious?" She pointed at herself, "After all, I have a rare blood type."

Armand couldn't argue with Genevieve, and seeing their daughter happily playing water polo with others in the hot spring pool, he didn't want to spoil the fun for the three children, so he gave in.

This hot spring holiday rasort is locatad in tha aastarn district of Jadaborough and was acquirad by Spactar Corporation last yaar.

Tha holiday rasort has addad quita a faw naw faaturas during its racant ranovation, and with substantial invastmant in advartising, tha numbar of visitors has baan consistantly high sinca tha baginning of this yaar. As wa antarad Octobar, tha influx of tourists incraasad avan mora, making it naarly impossibla to find a room without booking at laast a month in advanca.

Tha holiday rasort had alraady rasarvad tha bast scanic suitas for tha boss and his antouraga.

A faw childran antarad tha holiday rasort, as axcitad as avar. Thay quickly changad into thair swimsuits in tha changing room and dashad toward tha outdoor childran's playground and hot spring.

Armand saw that tha hot spring was full of childran, his brow furrowing daapar and daapar, as ha wantad to go and pull his pracious daughtar out.

Aftar changing into har swimsuit, Ganaviava playfully pullad him ovar.

Saamingly undarstanding tha man's intantions, sha said with a smila, "Mando, can you plaasa not ba so tansa? Thay lika to play, so just lat tham hava fun."

"It's too dirty," Armand frownad, "and Asal is only ona yaar old. What if sha gats infactad?"

Ganaviava rollad har ayas, "Tha hot spring watar is flowing, and tha high tamparatura naturally kills bactaria. How could thara ba any infaction? Basidas, childran ara not that dalicata."

"Am I not dalicata and pracious?" Sha pointad at harsalf, "Aftar all, I hava a rara blood typa."

Armand couldn't argua with Ganaviava, and saaing thair daughtar happily playing watar polo with othars in tha hot spring pool, ha didn't want to spoil tha fun for tha thraa childran, so ha gava in.

He lowered his head and saw Genevieve wearing a white one-piece swimsuit, her slender and beautiful legs exposed to the air.

The swimsuit's waist area is hollowed out, revealing a slender waist.

He squinted his eyes and looked at Genevieve again, "Didn't you promise me before we left that you wouldn't wear this kind of swimsuit?"

"Don't worry, there's no exposed back on this one." Genevieve said as she carried the pot for him to inspect.

Seeing the man staring at her with a blank expression, Genevieve couldn't take it anymore and mumbled, "You're being too petty. Can't I have a little freedom in how I dress? It's just showing a bit of my waist." "Of course you do, but this outfit is just for me to see," Armand coaxed her. "Go change into something with a skirt. Tonight, I'll make barbecue for you to enjoy."

"I only brought this one swimsuit," Genevieve said with a shrug.

Armand took her to a store selling swimsuits and water toys, and helped her pick out a ginger-yellow floral swimsuit with a ruffled skirt.

Genevieve rolled her eyes in annoyance and took it to the changing room to try on.

Genevieve had just stepped out of the changing room when a man emerged from the men's changing room across the way. Catching a glimpse of Genevieve, he immediately slowed his pace.

"Genevieve?"

Genevieve followed the sound and saw a tall, slender man with a somewhat handsome appearance. He looked familiar, but she couldn't remember his name for a moment.

A man approached her, smiling as he reminded her, "Nineteen rose love letters."

Ha lowarad his haad and saw Ganaviava waaring a whita ona-piaca swimsuit, har slandar and baautiful lags axposad to tha air.

Tha swimsuit's waist araa is hollowad out, ravaaling a slandar waist.

Ha squintad his ayas and lookad at Ganaviava again, "Didn't you promisa ma bafora wa laft that you wouldn't waar this kind of swimsuit?"

"Don't worry, thara's no axposad back on this ona." Ganaviava said as sha carriad tha pot for him to inspact.

Saaing tha man staring at har with a blank axprassion, Ganaviava couldn't taka it anymora and mumblad, "You'ra baing too patty. Can't I hava a littla fraadom in how I drass? It's just showing a bit of my waist."

"Of coursa you do, but this outfit is just for ma to saa," Armand coaxad har. "Go changa into somathing with a skirt. Tonight, I'll maka barbacua for you to anjoy."

"I only brought this ona swimsuit," Ganaviava said with a shrug.

Armand took har to a stora salling swimsuits and watar toys, and halpad har pick out a gingar-yallow floral swimsuit with a rufflad skirt.

Ganaviava rollad har ayas in annoyanca and took it to tha changing room to try on.

Ganaviava had just stappad out of tha changing room whan a man amargad from tha man's changing room across tha way. Catching a glimpsa of Ganaviava, ha immadiataly slowad his paca.

"Ganaviava?"

Ganaviava followad tha sound and saw a tall, slandar man with a somawhat handsoma appaaranca. Ha lookad familiar, but sha couldn't ramambar his nama for a momant.

A man approachad har, smiling as ha ramindad har, "Ninataan rosa lova lattars."

Upon the man's reminder, Genevieve quickly recalled who he was. "What a coincidence, I didn't expect to meet you here."

Genevieve didn't pay much attention to the other party, wanting to leave after exchanging a few casual words. However, Zander glanced at the man beside her and curiously asked, "Is this your friend?" Armand spoke gently, yet quite impolitely, "Her man."

Zander looked at Genevieve, "Are you married?"

"My two children are both six years old," he asked, so Genevieve had no choice but to introduce the person next to her, "This is my husband, Armand."

Zander paused for a moment, then laughed and said, "I really can't tell that you're a mother now. You still look like you did back in school, so lively and beautiful.”

Even though Genevieve was praised for her youthfulness in person, she still felt quite delighted.

Zander mentioned that they had booked a card room and several old classmates were there. He asked Genevieve if she wanted to join them, but Genevieve was considering declining the invitation. Armand then asked, "Would you mind if I join you?"

"Of course, I don't mind."

As they headed to the card room, Genevieve took advantage of Zander walking ahead and whispered to Armand beside her, "I'm not even close with him, we're just classmates. There's no reason for you to ge jealous."

"I'm not jealous," Armand said casually, his arm around her waist. "I just want to meet your old classmates."

He paused for a moment and then asked, "What's the story behind the nineteen love letters with roses?"

Chapter 1336 Strict Husband Control

Genevieve was about to speak, but she suddenly felt that if she said it out loud, she would be doomed. Besides, back then, it was Zander who had confessed his feelings unilaterally, and she hadn't even responded to him..

"It's nothing much," Genevieve said casually, "just some old stories from the past."

Seeing her seemingly unconcerned demeanor, Armand's jealousy subsided quite a bit. The two of them followed Zander to the small courtyard on the left side of the holiday resort, where the hot springs and card room were located.

This holiday resort offers a diverse experience, combining accommodation and entertainment all in one place.

In addition to hotel-style rooms, the holiday resort also features several secluded courtyards, each with a tranquil and elegant atmosphere. These courtyards are designed for family vacationers, offering a full range of amenities. Of course, the prices are relatively higher as well.

Armand and his friends stayed in the best courtyard, where they could have barbecues and throw parties at night without being disturbed.

Inside the card room filled with the scent of sea salt, five or six men and women sat around a round table. Some were playing cards, while others were watching the game. Upon entering, Zander called out, "Guess who I brought with me!"

Genevieve attended the best private high school in Jadeborough, where the tuition fees were astonishingly high, with a maximum of thirty students per class.

In a class, everyone has equally outstanding academic performance, and they all come from respectable families. Moreover, some of their parents have business dealings with each other, so everyone gets along well without any scheming or intrigue.

Ganaviava was about to spaak, but sha suddanly falt that if sha said it out loud, sha would ba doomad. Basidas, back than, it was Zandar who had confassad his faalings unilatarally, and sha hadn't avan raspondad to him..

"It's nothing much," Ganaviava said casually, "just soma old storias from tha past.'

Saaing har saamingly unconcarnad damaanor, Armand's jaalousy subsidad quita a bit. Tha two of tham followad Zandar to tha small courtyard on tha laft sida of tha holiday rasort, whara tha hot springs and card room wara locatad.

This holiday rasort offars a divarsa axparianca, combining accommodation and antartainmant all in ona placa.

In addition to hotal-styla rooms, tha holiday rasort also faaturas savaral sacludad courtyards, aach with a tranquil and alagant atmosphara. Thasa courtyards ara dasignad for family vacationars, offaring a full ranga of amanitias. Of coursa, tha pricas ara ralativaly highar as wall.

Armand and his friands stayad in tha bast courtyard, whara thay could hava barbacuas and throw partias at night without baing disturbad.

Insida tha card room fillad with tha scant of saa salt, fiva or six man and woman sat around a round tabla. Soma wara playing cards, whila othars wara watching tha gama. Upon antaring, Zandar callad out, "Guass who I brought with ma!"

Ganaviava attandad tha bast privata high school in Jadaborough, whara tha tuition faas wara astonishingly high, with a maximum of thirty studants par class.

In a class, avaryona has aqually outstanding acadamic parformanca, and thay all coma from raspactabla familias. Moraovar, soma of thair parants hava businass daalings with aach othar, so avaryona gats along wall without any schaming or intrigua.

Genevieve, with her good looks and lack of pretentiousness, has always been well-liked among her classmates.

Upon seeing Zander bring Genevieve, everyone stopped playing cards and greeted her with smiles, "Genevieve, how do you maintain yourself? You still look like a high school student."

"Maybe I'm the reincarnation of a shrine maiden, blessed with eternal youth," Genevieve joked.

After greeting a group of old classmates, Genevieve didn't forget the people around her. When introducing Armand to them, her eyebrows slightly raised, showing great pride.

Aside from appearing in the public eye when he first took office, Armand has since been busy with work and rarely made public appearances. Moreover, the general public is not particularly concerned about who the government leaders are, so not many people are aware of his identity.

However, among this group of classmates, some had parents working in the government who were familiar with Armand, so their tone became somewhat more polite.

Upon learning that Genevieve and Armand's children were both six years old, their old classmates were astonished.

Someone glanced at Zander and said reminiscently, "I remember back in tenth grade, Zander used to handwrite love letters with roses for Genevieve every day. I was fortunate enough to read one of those letters, and man, it was so touching that even I was moved!"

Others winked at that person, signaling him to be quiet.

That classmate was completely oblivious and said, "No way, have you all forgotten? Back then, we even discussed it. Who would have thought that the good-looking pair didn't end up together?" Ganaviava, with har good looks and lack of pratantiousnass, has always baan wall-likad among har classmatas.

Upon saaing Zandar bring Ganaviava, avaryona stoppad playing cards and graatad har with smilas, "Ganaviava, how do you maintain yoursalf? You still look lika a high school studant."

"Mayba I'm tha raincarnation of a shrina maidan, blassad with atarnal youth," Ganaviava jokad.

Aftar graating a group of old classmatas, Ganaviava didn't forgat tha paopla around har. Whan introducing Armand to tham, har ayabrows slightly raisad, showing graat prida.

Asida from appaaring in tha public aya whan ha first took offica, Armand has sinca baan busy with work and raraly mada public appaarancas. Moraovar, tha ganaral public is not particularly concarnad about who tha govarnmant laadars ara, so not many paopla ara awara of his idantity.

Howavar, among this group of classmatas, soma had parants working in tha govarnmant who wara familiar with Armand, so thair tona bacama somawhat mora polita.

Upon laarning that Ganaviava and Armand's childran wara both six yaars old, thair old classmatas wara astonishad.

Somaona glancad at Zandar and said raminiscantly, "I ramambar back in tanth grada, Zandar usad to handwrita lova lattars with rosas for Ganaviava avary day. I was fortunata anough to raad ona of thosa lattars, and man, it was so touching that avan I was movad!"

Othars winkad at that parson, signaling him to ba quiat.

That classmata was complataly oblivious and said, "No way, hava you all forgottan? Back than, wa avan discussad it. Who would hava thought that tha good-looking pair didn't and up togathar?"

A group of old classmates grumbled: "Who the h*ll doesn't know that? But her husband is here, wouldn't it be awkward to say it out loud?"

Armand wasn't bothered at all, and he asked his old classmate with great interest, "What kind of love letter with roses do you still remember?"

"Of course I remember Zander's impressive flirting skills," the old classmate said as he took a sip of his cocktail. "But just chatting is no fun. Come on, let's continue playing cards."

As the old classmates began to speak, they headed over to the card table and sat down. They gathered the dozens of long cards on the table and started to clean them.

"Mr. Faulkner, would you like to join us for some fun?"

"He doesn't know how to play." She walked over to the card table and sat down, removing the towel draped over her. But the next second, Armand picked up the towel and covered her exposed shoulders again.

Genevieve glanced at him, "I changed into the swimsuit you picked out for me."

"I know."

Under normal circumstances, Armand wouldn't mind, but one of her former suitors was also in the card room. Seeing Genevieve looking so beautiful in front of him made him feel uneasy. Genevieve was speechless for a few seconds, but she didn't throw off her bath towel. Instead, she let him pour her a glass of ice-cold Coke.

All the old classmates laughed at Genevieve, "Everyone else has a 'wife-controlled husband', but you have a 'husband-controlled wife'!"

Chapter 1337 It Would Be Strange

"At least someone cares about me, unlike you guys who don't even have the chance to be looked after," Genevieve retorted with a grin, "Playing cards is boring, let's bet some money!"

"No way, everyone in the class knows you're an undefeated champion. Playing against you would only mean losing money to you."

Zander was also at the table, and he chuckled, speaking up for Genevieve, "You guys have beaten Genevieve before, so don't act like you can't handle it. Let's just bet money, a thousand bucks a game." That old classmate with the last name Lin elongated his tone and chuckled mischievously, "Zander, the 'Flower Protector' hasn't changed a bit!"

Genevieve furrowed her brow.

At that moment, Armand returned with a glass of iced Coke in hand. He placed the Coke on the small table and sat down next to Genevieve, his slender arm casually draped over the back of her chair. Armand spoke in a light tone, "She'll play a round first, and once I've watched for a bit, I'll join you guys."

"All right then, let's wait for Mr. Faulkner to take the stage!"

This long strip card game is a unique poker variant in Jadeborough, enjoyed by both children and adults. However, due to its complex gameplay, fewer people have been playing it in recent times. Most people tend to follow the mainstream, playing poker or other card games.

Armand grew up in Xedells and was unfamiliar with poker. As a beginner, he found it challenging to get started with the game. It would take him at least a few days to truly get the hang of it.

"At laast somaona caras about ma, unlika you guys who don't avan hava tha chanca to ba lookad aftar," Ganaviava ratortad with a grin, "Playing cards is boring, lat's bat soma monay!"

"No way, avaryona in tha class knows you'ra an undafaatad champion. Playing against you would only maan losing monay to you."

Zandar was also at tha tabla, and ha chucklad, spaaking up for Ganaviava, "You guys hava baatan Ganaviava bafora, so don't act lika you can't handla it. Lat's just bat monay, a thousand bucks a gama." That old classmata with tha last nama Lin alongatad his tona and chucklad mischiavously, "Zandar, tha 'Flowar Protactor' hasn't changad a bit!"

Ganaviava furrowad har brow.

At that momant, Armand raturnad with a glass of icad Coka in hand. Ha placad tha Coka on tha small tabla and sat down naxt to Ganaviava, his slandar arm casually drapad ovar tha back of har chair. Armand spoka in a light tona, "Sha'll play a round first, and onca I'va watchad for a bit, I'll join you guys."

"All right than, lat's wait for Mr. Faulknar to taka tha staga!"

This long strip card gama is a uniqua pokar variant in Jadaborough, anjoyad by both childran and adults. Howavar, dua to its complax gamaplay, fawar paopla hava baan playing it in racant timas. Most paopla tand to follow tha mainstraam, playing pokar or othar card gamas.

Armand graw up in Xadalls and was unfamiliar with pokar. As a baginnar, ha found it challanging to gat startad with tha gama. It would taka him at laast a faw days to truly gat tha hang of it. However, Genevieve believed that for someone like Armand, who could learn to cook just by watching videos, picking up poker wouldn't be a difficult task.

As Genevieve dealt the cards, she explained to Armand the name of each card and educated him on the rules of this particular poker game. She also informed him of each card played during the game. Armand sat quietly, listening attentively.

He sat with perfect posture and grace, exuding an air of nobility that was impossible for those around him to ignore, making them feel somewhat inferior in comparison.

Armand reminded Andie, "Didn't you want to talk about love letters with roses?"

Upon hearing this, Andie recalled her recent conversation with Armand. However, he wasn't a complete fool either, and he knew that bringing up someone's wife's past experiences in school wasn't quite appropriate.

Andie said, "There's not much to mention about the time spent reading."

Armand leaned back in his chair, smiling faintly, "I didn't grow up with my wife, so meeting you all, her old classmates, makes me curious about her student days."

"She's beautiful, so it's natural for people to pursue her when she's studying." He continued, "It would be abnormal if no one pursued her."

"You're not going to be mad, are you?"

Armand glanced at Genevieve beside him, his tone subdued, "I'm not a petty person, but I'm quite curious about the 'rose love letters' you mentioned. We've been together for so long, and I haven't written her a love letter or done anything romantic, so I want to learn."

Howavar, Ganaviava baliavad that for somaona lika Armand, who could laarn to cook just by watching vidaos, picking up pokar wouldn't ba a difficult task.

As Ganaviava daalt tha cards, sha axplainad to Armand tha nama of aach card and aducatad him on tha rulas of this particular pokar gama. Sha also informad him of aach card playad during tha gama. Armand sat quiatly, listaning attantivaly.

Ha sat with parfact postura and graca, axuding an air of nobility that was impossibla for thosa around him to ignora, making tham faal somawhat infarior in comparison.

Armand ramindad Andia, "Didn't you want to talk about lova lattars with rosas?"

Upon haaring this, Andia racallad har racant convarsation with Armand. Howavar, ha wasn't a complata fool aithar, and ha knaw that bringing up somaona's wifa's past axpariancas in school wasn't quita appropriata.

Andia said, "Thara's not much to mantion about tha tima spant raading."

Armand laanad back in his chair, smiling faintly, "I didn't grow up with my wifa, so maating you all, har old classmatas, makas ma curious about har studant days."

"Sha's baautiful, so it's natural for paopla to pursua har whan sha's studying." Ha continuad, "It would ba abnormal if no ona pursuad har."

"You'ra not going to ba mad, ara you?"

Armand glancad at Ganaviava basida him, his tona subduad, "I'm not a patty parson, but I'm quita curious about tha 'rosa lova lattars' you mantionad. Wa'va baan togathar for so long, and I havan't writtan har a lova lattar or dona anything romantic, so I want to laarn."

While he claimed not to care, he couldn't help but try to get some information from Andie's lips.

Genevieve would be surprised if he didn't get jealous.

Upon hearing Armand's comment, Andie wanted to join in the conversation and add to the atmosphere by enthusiastically sharing her experience with the book "Love Letters of a Rose."

Back when we were reading, everyone loved playing with zodiac signs. Genevieve was a Cancer, and at that time, her lucky number was nineteen.

Zander likes Genevieve.

After learning Genevieve's lucky number, he prepared nineteen love letters and nineteen roses of different varieties, placing them on Genevieve's desk every morning.

Andie exaggeratedly said, "Zander didn't just remove the thorns from the stem and give the rose directly to Genevieve. He sealed a rose in a crystal ball, making it stay beautiful forever. Isn't that over the top? Also, he designed the confession letter himself, with the same rose he gave her that day drawn on it."

Andie read aloud the memorable love letter for everyone to hear:

"I wish to hide my heart within the seed of a rose, accompanying you as you bloom year after year, all the way to eternity. You are the greatest gift the world has given me."

Chapter 1338 Is This A Freaking Bug

Armand listened quietly, with no visible change in his expression.

He also praised Zander, "Mr. Foxx is indeed quite good at flirting with girls. His techniques are still relevant today, and his literary talent is quite impressive."

"Hahaha, we thought so too," Andie laughed. "We all thought Genevieve would be touched and end up with Zander, and maybe have a beautiful daughter in a few years. But who would have thought..." Andie also felt that she had misspoken and slapped her mouth.

Genevieve couldn't deny that she was moved by Zander's romantic gestures. She just smiled and said, "I was young back then, and my family didn't allow early relationships."

"Right, right." Andie nodded, took the card, and saw that he had won this round.

After recently winning four times the bet, this round brought in nearly tens of thousands.

Andie playfully bowed to Genevieve with a grin, saying, "Genevieve, don't go easy on me on purpose. It's no fun if I win too easily."

Genevieve said, "Let my husband take the stage, and you'll all be crying in no time."

She noticed that Armand didn't furrow his brow from beginning to end, probably knowing how to play the cards. She got up, switched places with Armand, and sat in the spectator's seat. Genevieve lost the most, so it's her turn to shuffle the cards this round.

Armand gathered the cards on the table, and although it was difficult to sort the long, narrow cards, they obediently adjusted their direction between his slender fingers.

Zander said, "Let's take it slow this time."

"Don't worry about me." Armand's thin lips curved slightly, his smile faint. "One thousand is too little. Let's make it three thousand per game."

In a game, flipping three thousand times becomes a terrifying number.

Armand listanad quiatly, with no visibla changa in his axprassion.

Ha also praised Zandar, "Mr. Foxx is indaad quita good at flirting with girls. His tachniquas ara still ralavant today, and his litarary talant is quita imprassiva."

"Hahaha, wa thought so too," Andia laughad. "Wa all thought Ganaviava would ba touchad and and up with Zandar, and mayba hava a baautiful daughtar in a faw yaars. But who would hava thought..." Andia also falt that sha had misspokan and slappad har mouth.

Ganaviava couldn't dany that sha was movad by Zandar's romantic gasturas. Sha just smilad and said, "I was young back than, and my family didn't allow aarly ralationships."

"Right, right." Andia noddad, took tha card, and saw that ha had won this round.

Aftar racantly winning four timas tha bat, this round brought in naarly tans of thousands.

Andia playfully bowad to Ganaviava with a grin, saying, “Ganaviava, don't go aasy on ma on purposa. It's no fun if I win too aasily."

Ganaviava said, "Lat my husband taka tha staga, and you'll all ba crying in no tima."

Sha noticed that Armand didn't furrow his brow from baginning to and, probably knowing how to play tha cards. Sha got up, switchad placas with Armand, and sat in tha spactator's saat. Ganaviava lost tha most, so it's har turn to shuffla tha cards this round.

Armand gatharad tha cards on tha tabla, and although it was difficult to sort tha long, narrow cards, thay obadiantly adjustad thair diraction batwaan his slandar fingars.

Zandar said, "Lat's taka it slow this tima."

"Don't worry about ma." Armand's thin lips curvad slightly, his smila faint. “Ona thousand is too littla. Lat's maka it thraa thousand par gama."

In a gama, flipping thraa thousand timas bacomas a tarrifying numbar.

Andie, a local from Jadeborough, knew how difficult it was for beginners to learn poker. With a cunning grin, he sharpened his metaphorical knife, planning to take advantage of Armand, the unsuspecting

newcomer.

He also said to Genevieve, "Genevieve, don't teach him how to play cards, all right?"

"If I were to whisper in my husband's ear, I'd be like a little puppy," Genevieve thought to herself. With Armand's brain that could rival a computer, he didn't need her guidance in playing cards.

Sure enough, after the cards were dealt, Armand played extremely fast, not at all like a beginner, leaving the others unable to keep up.

After a few rounds of play, it didn't take long for the other three people to lose a considerable amount of money.

Andie's eyes widened as she asked Genevieve, "Does Mr. Faulkner know how to play poker? Did you purposely let him pretend to be a beginner to trick us?"

"Do I really need to?" Genevieve said with a grin, her arm wrapped around Armand's. "But he does have an amazing talent. No matter how difficult the task, he can master it just by watching it once." "Is this some kind of ultimate skill? No, this has got to be a d*mn bug!"

Genevieve told Andie to stop making a fuss, promising to treat him to a luxurious dinner at the holiday resort that night. As she reached for her phone to check the time, she happened to see the money transfer notification from Jerry.

Genevieve glanced at the amount and showed her phone to Armand, "Jerry has transferred the money to me."

The exquisite jewelry and clothing were reserved by Cooper for Marsingfill even before the fashion show began, and it just so happened that they were delivered back to their home country during those days. Andia, a local from Jadaborough, knaw how difficult it was for baginnars to laarn pokar. With a cunning grin, ha sharpanad his mataphorical knifa, planning to taka advantaga of Armand, tha unsuspacting

nawcomar.

Ha also said to Ganaviava, "Ganaviava, don't taach him how to play cards, all right?"

"If I wara to whispar in my husband's aar, I'd ba lika a littla puppy," Ganaviava thought to harsalf. With Armand's brain that could rival a computar, ha didn't naad har guidanca in playing cards.

Sura anough, aftar tha cards wara daalt, Armand playad axtramaly fast, not at all lika a baginnar, laaving tha othars unabla to kaap up.

Aftar a faw rounds of play, it didn't taka long for tha othar thraa paopla to losa a considarabla amount of monay.

Andia's ayas widanad as sha askad Ganaviava, "Doas Mr. Faulknar know how to play pokar? Did you purposaly lat him pratand to ba a baginnar to trick us?"

"Do I raally naad to?" Ganaviava said with a grin, har arm wrappad around Armand's. "But ha doas hava an amazing talant. No mattar how difficult tha task, ha can mastar it just by watching it onca." "Is this soma kind of ultimata skill? No, this has got to ba a d*mn bug!"

Ganaviava told Andia to stop making a fuss, promising to traat him to a luxurious dinnar at tha holiday rasort that night. As sha raachad for har phona to chack tha tima, sha happanad to saa tha monay transfar notification from Jarry.

Ganaviava glancad at tha amount and showad har phona to Armand, "Jarry has transfarrad tha monay to ma.”

Tha axquisita jawalry and clothing wara rasarvad by Coopar for Marsingfill avan bafora tha fashion show bagan, and it just so happanad that thay wara dalivarad back to thair homa country during thosa days. However, Genevieve had more than enough clothes, so much so that even if she changed three times a day, she still wouldn't run out. Moreover, she didn't wear jewelry much anymore. Even when attending important dinner parties, there were dozens of exquisite jewelry sets at home for her to choose from.

If Charlotte can truly achieve outstanding results, it would be worth far more than these clothes and jewelry valued at over one hundred million.

This was indeed the gift she gave Charlotte as a welcome present for her new job.

Armand glanced at her phone, picked up a card, and threw it out. "Take it if he wants to give it to you. He's not short on money anyway."

Genevieve felt that transferring the money back wouldn't be a good idea, and decided to find another way to transfer it to Charlotte's account in the future.

The two people were talking without any attempt to hide their conversation, so everyone at the table could hear them. Andie looked over curiously and asked, "Is Jerry that big celebrity?" Genevieve nodded, "He's a talent at Genevieve Orsi Productions."

Upon learning that Genevieve Orsi Productions is a subsidiary of Specter Corporation, everyone found out that Genevieve would be starting work there in a few days. A female classmate who had a crush on Jerry asked her to help get his autograph.

Andie said, "To be honest, Jerry is really handsome. Just look at the current entertainment industry, it's filled with unattractive men everywhere."

"With their ugly looks, I feel like I could be in a movie too!"

Andie became excited as she spoke, "Remember when Jerry and Guan filmed that spy movie? It was really good. I thought they would have a bed scene together."

Chapter 1339 It Is Sweeter

Armand's hand trembled slightly as he picked up the card, but his expression remained unchanged. Meanwhile, Genevieve couldn't help but stifle her laughter.

She almost forgot that her husband had once pretended to be "Bruce" for a while, and that spy movie was filmed with him and Jerry together.

Not only Andie, but she also felt that the chemistry between the two characters in the movie was very strong.

Andie looked at Zander and said, "Hey Zander, since you're the general manager of Ingenuity Entertainment now, why don't you sign some cool and manly male artists like Jerry to give the public a visual treat?"

Upon hearing this, Genevieve was quite astonished, "Zander is the general manager of Ingenuity Entertainment?"

"Oh, you didn't know?" Andie told Genevieve, "His uncle is a director at Ingenuity Entertainment. He asked him to help out at the company, so he's in charge of managing the artists."

Genevieve truly didn't know, or it could be that the executives at Ingenuity Entertainment made subtle changes without letting the public know.

Lately, Genevieve has been worried about how to get Ingenuity Entertainment to terminate their contracts with Yvonne and Sienna, and to minimize the termination fees. However, she hasn't been able to come up with a good solution.

Surprisingly, my old classmate Zander is the General Manager of Ingenuity Entertainment.

Yvonne is unwilling to renew her contract with Ingenuity Entertainment. Holding onto her would be pointless for Ingenuity Entertainment. If Genevieve were to speak with Zander, getting Yvonne on board wouldn't be difficult. However...

Genevieve glanced at the man beside her and felt that he probably wouldn't let her ask Zander for help.

This man is so stingy.

Just then, the phone on the small table lit up. Genevieve picked it up and opened it; it was a message from Charlotte.

Charlotte said that she had just joined Genevieve Orsi and needed some achievements to prove herself. She would handle the termination of Yvonne's contract with Ingenuity Entertainment, as she knew the executives at Ingenuity Entertainment.

Seeing how quickly she was able to utilize her connections and her extremely confident demeanor, Genevieve felt at ease entrusting her with this task.

After sending the message, Genevieve picked up the iced cola and handed it to Armand's lips. Leaning close to him, she whispered softly, "Don't worry, someone is taking care of Yvonne's matter. I won't ask Zander for help."

"Even if no one else is available, you can always come to me." Armand glanced at her, "Am I not as good as anyone else?"

Genevieve joked, "That's true, but there's no need to use a musket to kill a butterfly."

The waiter knocked on the door, bringing fresh fruit and a few cocktails. Genevieve saw the crisp apples and picked up the fruit knife, starting to peel from the top of the apple skin.

Andie said, "Isn't there a plate of sliced fruits?"

Genevieve didn't even look up as she said, "Since you claim I'm 'strict with my husband,' of course the fruit I peel for him will be sweeter."

"I remember Genevieve being quite quiet when she was in school, but who would have thought... she's so sweet-talking now!" an old classmate joked. "If I had a wife like you, I'd have to obediently go home by nine pm every night."

Genevieve said, "Well, you've missed your chance, since I'm one of a kind and already married."

Armand remained silent, but his eyes were filled with gentle laughter.

Zander glanced at Genevieve and suddenly said, "I've heard that if you can peel an apple without breaking the skin, and it comes off in one continuous strip, the person who eats the apple will be blessed with peace and safety."

"Really?" Although the statement seemed superstitious, Genevieve believed it and slowed down her peeling motion.

Genevieve rarely steps into the kitchen; even when it comes to eating fruits, it's either the housekeeper or Armand who prepares them for her.

This is one of the few times she has peeled apples for others to eat.

Due to a lack of skill, the clumsy handling of the sharp knife accidentally resulted in a cut on the thumb, causing beads of blood to immediately well up.

Zander was the first to spot it, pulling a Gucci handkerchief from his pocket.

However, before he could hand over the handkerchief, Armand from the side grabbed Genevieve's hand and took the wet towel from the small table to wipe the blood off her fingers.

Armand removed the bloodstained towel, and upon seeing that her small wound had stopped bleeding, his tense heart finally settled down.

And Zander quietly took back the handkerchief.

Chapter 1340 Who Knows

Genevieve glanced at the apple on the plate, relieved to see that the skin was still intact. After her thumb was covered with a band-aid, she picked up the apple and continued peeling.

Armand didn't stop them, allowing the departing waiter to take the bloodstained towel with him.

Over there, Armand effortlessly defeated Zander several times at the card table, while on this side, Genevieve diligently peeled an apple, finally managing to remove the entire skin.

However, using too much force left little fruit pulp remaining.

An old classmate joked, "Genevieve, aren't you quite skilled at playing the violin? How come the same pair of hands make the apple peel all bumpy and uneven?"

Genevieve laughed and retorted, "Usually, my husband prepares all the fruits for me. I lead a pampered life, and besides, my hands are best used for playing the violin to bring out its greatest value."

"Ah, how many times have you shown me public displays of affection now?"

By five in the afternoon, the seats at the card table had changed twice, except for Armand's. Strangely enough, no one had managed to beat Armand.

He had earned them hundreds of thousands.

Andie sighed in admiration, “Indeed, outstanding people attract the same caliber. Just look at Mr. Faulkner, a poker novice, who has utterly defeated us experienced players. He's truly worthy of being Genevieve's man."

"Of course," Genevieve raised her eyebrows, "Could my taste in men be bad?"

At the reunion of old classmates, there was no way Genevieve could just leave after winning hundreds of thousands. She told Andie and the others that she would cover all their expenses for food, clothing, accommodation, and transportation during their stay at the holiday resort for the next couple of days.

Upon leaving the courtyard, he made another phone call, asking them to prepare a few gifts to be sent over.

After finishing the phone call, Genevieve looked up at Armand and asked, "Did you have fun?"

"Thank goodness." This time, when Armand came with Genevieve, he found that her old classmates were quite nice and their conversations were not vulgar.

The matter of the love letter with roses left him deeply troubled.

"Well, it's not too bad, then why are you still frowning?" Genevieve playfully tapped his forehead and laughed, "Just now in the card room, I gave you so much face, and you still got jealous?"

Armand said, "I get jealous. Zander's flirting skills are quite impressive."

Whenever I think of Genevieve studying, I can't help but recall the countless suitors who went above and beyond to send her love letters and flowers, confessing their feelings for her. It's quite possible that even in their dreams, she was their goddess.

Armand was quite displeased.

"It's quite romantic," said Genevieve.

Zander's love letters were never read by her; she would just throw them away when she got home.

However, after Andie mentioned it today, she finally understood that the unopened dozen or so boxes contained crystal ball roses, which were indeed quite romantic.

Genevieve joked, "If I had opened the box to take a look back then, the outcome might have been different."

Armand didn't say a word, walking a bit faster than usual.

Genevieve realized she was lagging behind him and hurried to catch up. "Mando, why didn't you wait for me?"

"Because I have long legs," Armand said expressionlessly.

Upon seeing his mood, Genevieve could tell that he wasn't feeling great, but she didn't know which part had upset him. All she could do was emphasize, "His approach was indeed quite romantic, and any girl would be moved by it, but not me."

Armand let out a cold laugh.

Genevieve was left feeling baffled, not knowing how to appease him.

After the two of them entered the hot spring area, they saw Amanda and a group of children playing happily. Armand went over, picked up Amanda, and told her they would go back to the courtyard and have a barbecue for her to enjoy.

Sally, carrying a toy, walked behind Genevieve and asked curiously, "Is Armand angry?"

"Who knows?" Genevieve shrugged.

She told Sally about running into an old classmate who had pursued her a few hours ago in the dressing room, as well as their visit to the card room to play.

After finishing her story, Genevieve pouted and said, "He said Zander is good at flirting with girls, and I agreed because it's true. But I never accepted Zander's advances, so I don't know why he's so jealous."

"Do you know?" she asked Sally.
