“Respect?” Lu Xunchang smirked while regarding Zhang Yufan in disdain. “Did I hear you wrongly? Are you actually discussing respect with an assistant, Young Master Zhang? Who are you putting up an act for? Who knows what nasty things you have in mind?”

Zhang Yufan frowned and pointed at Lu Xunchang. “W-Why do you speak in that way?”

“Since you do not intend to do anything, Young Master Zhang, please step aside for now.” Lu Xunchang signaled the men who were standing behind him, and they surrounded Shen Qi immediately.

Shen Qi’s expression darkened immediately, and she glared at Lu Xunchang. “President Lu, what are you trying to do?”

“Ha.” Lu Xunchang sneered. “My dear assistant, how dare you ask me what my intentions are? You presented yourself to me today, so don’t blame me for being rude.”

Shen Qi sensed danger, and just as she was about to scream for help, the men behind her hit the back of her neck swiftly. Then, Shen Qi’s eyes rolled up before she slumped to the side.

No one tried breaking her fall, but Zhang Yufan was quick on his feet. He dashed forward and supported Shen Qi before scowling at Lu Xunchang. “President Lu, just what do you think you’re doing?”

Lu Xunchang glared at him vehemently. “Get lost.”

Zhang Yufan tightened his grip around Shen Qi. “Are you guys planning to do something to Assistant Shen? She is Young Master Ye’s assistant. Are you trying to offend Young Master Ye of North City?”

“Ha, we do not see eye to eye,” replied Lu Xunchang while glaring menacingly at Zhang Yufan with narrowed eyes. “Your name is Zhang Yufan, am I right? You’d better hand her over. Otherwise… I will render you unconscious and take you with me.”

Zhang Yufan met Lu Xunchang’e eyes when he heard that, but he did not let go of Shen Qi.

“She is just an assistant you met not long ago. Do you want to offend me for her sake?” With that, Zhang Yufan loosened his grip slightly, and Lu Xunchang’s subordinate took the chance to grab Shen Qi away.

After that, they took Shen Qi away from the banquet hall openly. Many people witnessed what happened, but everyone was aware of Lu Xunchang’s ways, and they thought that both were consenting adults, and so the audience ignored it.

“Hahaha!” Lu Xunchang burst into a cackle of manic laughter. “Come at me if you have what it takes. However, before you start crushing the Lu’s, bear in mind that your assistant… will be tortured beyond imagination.” Lu Xunchang’s voice sounded menacing. “Ye Moxuan, you caused a huge rift between two families for the sake of a lowly assistant. “Lu Xunchang, let her go if you know what’s good for you,” warned Xiao Su.

“What do you want?” Ye Moxuan asked in a cold voice.

Lu Xunchang was silent for a while before he spoke again, “It seems like you truly value your assistant, Ye Moxuan. Who would have thought you’d end up in this position today? On the other side, after hanging up on the phone call, Lu Xunchang stared unblinkingly at the woman lying in bed. She was still unconscious, and there was a large bowl of medicine beside her.

Meanwhile, Lu Xunchang laughed evilly at her.

Shen Qi covered her mouth before scuttling to the corner of the room, her eyes wide open with fear.

“Ye Moxuan’s assistant, ha! I wanted to fool around with you, but it’s a shame you didn’t know what’s good for you. In that case, you should just wait here while you are overwhelmed with lust.”

Shen Qi’s eyes bulged in shock when she heard that. “The medicine you fed me…”

“It’s no use,” commented Lu Xunchang with a faint smile. Lu Xunchang snorted in disdain while scanning the room. “Seal the windows and door, and light the incense. All we have to do now is to wait for Ye Moxuan to fall into our trap.”

After assigning the tasks accordingly, Xiao Sue led a few men and brought Ye Moxuan up the building immediately.

Once they arrived at the entrance of the room, Xiao Su kicked the room door open straight away. But before he could check the state of the room, Ye Moxuan instructed sternly, “Shut your eyes!”

Xiao Su turned around swiftly while glaring at his men. “Guard the room outside, and you’re not allowed in the room.”

Ye Moxuan rolled his wheelchair and was about to enter the room alone when Xiao Su’s expression changed drastically before he stopped him hastily. “Young Master Ye!”

Ye Moxuan caught a whiff of a distinct fragrance in the air, which made him scowl. “Get everyone to cover their mouths and noses because there is an ecstasy incense lighted in the room.”

Xiao Su nodded immediately while handing masks to everyone, and he allowed Ye Moxuan to enter the room by himself only after putting a mask on him.

Shen Qi thought that she might burst into flames due to the heat, and her clothes were disheveled while she lay on the icy-cold floor. She was very weak, but under the influence of the drug, she shed all her clothes, while leaving only her undergarments on. The coolness from the floor radiated throughout her body, which helped ease her scorching temperature.

Nevertheless, it did not solve the root cause at all.

Shen Qi was semi-conscious, and she felt a strange feeling in her lower abdomen, which embarrassed her!

“D-Damn it!” Ye Moxuan’s forehead beaded with cold sweat while he stuttered. “Miss Second-marriage, if you dare bite my finger off… I’ll never forgive you.”

Shen Qi seemed to have heard Ye Moxuan’s voice in her foggy mind, and in the beginning, she thought that she was hallucinating. However, when she realized that she was biting on someone else’s finger, she lifted her face up.

The vague images before her eyes then gradually overlapped and came to a sharp focus.

Ye Moxuan was glaring at her with a dark expression while seated on his wheelchair, and his finger was bleeding after she bit on it.

“It’s you…” Shen Qi regained her sanity somehow, and she shoved against him violently. “You need to leave. Get out!” she shouted.

“What are you doing?” Ye Moxuan was still in pain because he just had his finger bitten by her, and blood was dripping everywhere. Ye Moxuan’s expression soured instantly, and he questioned Shen Qi in disdain.

Damn this woman. I came all the way here to save her, and here she is, trying to push me out of the room! She even bit my finger!

Shen Qi explained with all her strength, “He lit some ecstasy incense here!”

“Ecstasy incense?” Ye Moxuan repeated, but he still seemed indifferent, as if this was within his predictions.

However, Shen Qi did not give up just yet, and since she couldn’t kiss his lips, she shifted focus and kissed his neck instead.

Ye Moxuan should have pushed her away, but… he wasn’t quite sure why he felt that Shen Qi, who was before him, had became so gentle now.

The dim yellow lights in the hotel room cast a suggestive atmosphere, as if leading the both of them on.

“Hug me… please?” Shen Qi’s voice was different from her usual cold tone, and at that moment, her voice was tender and womanly; even her usually calm eyes were sparkling and seductive, as if beckoning for him.

“Anything else? Are you feeling any discomforts?” Since Dr. Sui was here, he might as well check on her. He bent down, grabbed her wrist, and felt her pulse. He then used the stethoscope to perform some regular checkups.

“Everything seems to be fine. Rest well, Miss Shen.”

Just as Dr. Sui was about to leave, they heard voices from the outside.

“Second Young Master, you are here.”

Ye Moxuan is here? Hearing his name, Shen Qi’s gaze changed, and she unconsciously shrunk under her blanket.

“I told you to leave. Did you?” Shen Qi stared at him for a while.

She took a deep breath and tried to calm herself down.

He grabbed her wrist and put it on his face, and that was when Shen Qi noticed that he had placed her hand exactly where the scratch was on his face.

“See? These… were all your work.” Ye Moxuan’s voice was deep, and it felt like a mellow wine running down her throat.

What? Shen Qi looked at him in surprise. She noticed the scratch on his face when he came in and wondered what happened. So I was the one who did it?

But why can’t I remember anything?

“Including these…” Ye Moxuan grabbed her hand and moved. Shen Qi felt her finger falling on something soft and warm; it was Ye Moxuan’s lips.

The place where her fingertip fell was the place where Ye Moxuan’s lip was hurt.
