Yan’s expression change was subtle when she thought of it.

Han Qing was buttoning up his shirt as he was preparing to sit down and eat. But after listening to Yan’s comment, his eyes darkened all of a sudden.

“What did you say?”

From his gaze, Yan understood immediately that she had hit a nerve, so she lowered her head and continued eating. “No, nothing.”

As she kept her head lowered, she looked extremely guilty, regretting the way she spoke without thinking. After all, Han Qing was a man, and he would definitely feel hurt if his ability was questioned.

She sighed mentally, for she didn’t know what was wrong with her. Could it be because she was spoiled by him lately that she started to become more audacious, and dared to speak whatever was on her mind?

The person in front of her did nothing as Yan raised her head slowly in embarrassment and pushed the food toward him. “Eat.”

As she finished speaking, she immediately lowered her head again, afraid to look at Han Qing in the eyes. She was literally digging her own grave earlier, and could only hope that Han Qing wouldn’t overthink it.

Fortunately, Han Qing did not continue the topic. He sat down and started to eat without any expression. Yan stole a glance at him, and thought he probably didn’t take it seriously, or it was just not shown on his face.

The two finished the meal quietly. While they were eating, Yan kept worrying about Han Qing’s state of mind, and had completely forgotten what had happened during the day.

After dinner, Yan sat on the chair, unwilling to move, while Han Qing got up and started taking away the dishes calmly. Yan wanted to help out in the beginning, but then she thought she would let him do it, just to see how far he could tolerate her.

After Han Qing had taken everything out, Yan went straight to the couch and lay on it. Soon, she felt slightly drowsy, but when her eyelids were starting to get heavy, she could hear Han Qing’s footsteps coming over.

His footsteps were approaching her closer and closer, but Yan’s eyelids were so incredibly heavy that she was completely unable to lift them up.

Suddenly, her entire body was in the air. Yan was shocked, which made her open her eyes. Panicked and stunned, she met Han Qing’s gaze.

“What’s the matter?”

Han Qing said nothing as he carried her and headed upstairs.

Before Yan could figure out what was happening, she was being carried into his room.

The two stayed together before they were married, but they were always sleeping in separate rooms. This was the first time Han Qing took Yan into his room.

Only when her head landed on the soft pillow, Yan realized what was happening.

However, it was already too late when she came round. Han Qing was already locking down her wrists, and was going to kiss her.

“Wait, wait a minute!” Yan was panicking as she demanded him to stop. Her eyes were filled with nervousness. “Erm… Calm down.”

“Lacking the strength to do so?”

However, Han Qing stared at her and repeated her words. His expression was unfathomable, and he raised his eyebrows as he continued, “Didn’t you already get to know whether I was lacking the power that other night?”

Yan was speechless.

Yes, I know!

He was indeed very good that day, but after that, nothing happened between them, so it was only reasonable that she questioned his lack of power to do so.

Then again, it was a man’s dignity. Yan knew that she had accidentally struck a nerve, so she was trying to say something that would restore his dignity.
