Ch. 376..380: Powerful Papa with Triplet Babies Chapter 376-380
Chapter 376
Anne’s expression darkened, but she turned to face the triplet with a smile regardless. “Going to school? Is the school bus here yet? Go on.”
The triplets hurried down the stairs and glared at Bianca once they were on the ground.
“Who are you? Who are you fighting?”
“I know her. She’s the one who presses keys for a living,” Chloe said.
Bianca was furious that a child had the audacity to describe her elegant art of the piano forte as ‘pressing keys‘.
“We don’t welcome you here! You are the one who should leave!” Chris said.
To prevent Bianca from saying anything worse, Anne told the nanny, “I’m going to be fine here. Don’t let this delay the children from going to school.”
“Alright…” The nanny pulled the children away.
Charlie was the most hot–tempered among the three, so he shouted fiercely despite being dragged away. “Key–presser, I remember you now! If you bully that lady there, I will make sure you suffer…”
Anne watched as the children were dragged away and were relieved when they disappeared from her sight.
“Homewreckers are best at manipulation. Kids like that are just as good as fools. That’s why they consider you a good person!”
Anne’s expression darkened. “You are nothing but a mad hound that bites whoever you come across, Bianca. They were just kids, and you want to vent your anger on them as well?”
“Do you pity them? That’s right. You can’t have your own children, so you are left fawning over someone else’s kids. Such as the kids I am going to have with Anthony,” Bianca mocked.
Anne looked at her. “You want to check if I have any marks on me, right? I’ll show it to you then.” She pulled at her collar roughly to reveal the snow–like skin beneath.
Though there was no mark, Bianca was still stung by jealousy at the sight, dering if this was why Anthony was so into Anne’s body.
Anne let go of her collar and adjusted her clothes. “What’s that look on your face? You seem disappointed.”
Bianca gritted her teeth viciously and walked up to Anne before mocking her, “Even if nothing happened, it doesn’t change the fact of how cheap you are. A person like you should never exist in this world to
begin with. So what if you manage to seduce Anthony? Is he going to marry you or pay you? Even wh*res are better than you!” She then grabbed her bag and left. Enraged by Bianca’s insults, Anne’s chest heaved, and she took deep breaths to try and calm herself.
Throughout her life, Bianca was the one who had thrown the most vicious insults at her and though she could have ignored it, what happened made it hard to turn a blind eye to what she was being accused of because Bianca surely was not the only one who thought the same thing.
Anne was terrified by the idea that someday, someone would ask her children if their mother was a homewrecker who seduced someone else‘s man.
She refused to let the same thing happen to her children. Anne wished that she could tear Anthony into pieces and curse his entire family, but then realized she could not do so shortly after, before Anthony‘s family was her children‘s family as well.
That being said, she could not even curse at Anthony to her heart‘s content. She went back to her apartment to shower. She had not gotten to shower before Anthony tossed her onto the bed the night before. She was lucky that there was no mark on her, or Bianca would have started a fistfight on the spot.
hapter 377 Even so, Bianca was livid. After leaving the residential area, Bianca went to the Archduke Group and had breakfast with Anthony as though everything was normal. She did not see anything odd in Anthony‘s behavior, but Bianca was still extremely unhappy about the fact that Anne and Antony had both disappeared the night before. She felt like a wife who found something odd in her husband‘s behaviors but had no proof of it. In the end, she could only vent her emotions by acting out, which would eventually drive her husband away.
Bianca‘s parents might seem like a loving couple on the outside, but she was the only one who knew that they frequently fought, and always for the same reason: her mother suspected her father of cheating
Nigel had to socialize with business partners, and he would sometimes return home late, smelling of alcohol and perfumes.
Dorothy was a paranoid woman, and because she was a full–time housewife, all her focus landed on her husband and her children. If Nigel acted oddly in any way, she would catch on to it and feel threatened because of it.
Dorothy would insist on getting the truth from Nigel, which would then escalate to a fight.
Bianca had overheard her parents fighting countless times and had learned from it. A fight with proofless accusations would only kill whatever love a couple had for one another, and it was even more true when being in a relationship with Anthony, a far more powerful man compared to Nigel. Bianca vowed never to act out senselessly to give Anne a chance to seduce Anthony, so she left without a word after having breakfast with Anthony.
Inside the car, the rage within her continued to boil, so she called Michelle.
Anne hurried to the office after a quick shower and received a call from Michelle at noon. “What do you want?” Anne asked.
“To work together, of course!” Michelle said.
No matter what Michelle meant by that, Anne had no interest in finding out. After all, working with a woman like her would never end well, as it was like working with a bad–tempered tiger.
“I‘m not interested.
“Are you sure?” Michelle simply thought that Anne was playing hard to get. “Look at how smug Bianca is. She is engaged to Anthony, and once they get married, she will secure the title of Mrs. Marwood. I know that you‘ve worked hard to fight her off. Are you okay with just admitting defeat?”
Anne thought back and tried to understand how Michelle could mistake her behavior as‘ working hard to fight Bianca off‘ and ‘admitting defeat‘. “So, we can work together against her. Show Anthony what she‘s really like so that he would cancel the engagement. How does that sound?” Worried that Anne would refuse, she continued, “Even if you don‘t want to, Bianca will never leave you alone. You might as well
knock her off that high horse so that she has no power to bully you any longer.”
“I’m sorry, but I’m really not interested. You can fight her if you want to.”
“Are you going soft on me because she is your half–sister? She doesn’t see you as her sister, though,” Michelle said.
“That’s my private affair. Don’t call me again.” Anne ended the call right away.
Michelle started the screen of her phone and sneered as she thought to herself, ‘Anne Vallois, I’ve given you a chance, and you were the one who let it slip. Don’t come to me crying when you find yourself trapped.‘
Chapter 378 After Elder Marwood‘s death, Ron was sent away to mourn for him. With Ron gone, Damian was overjoyed and he showed up at Tommy‘s office grinning ear to ear. “It‘s great. We hadn‘t even done anything yet, and they were already fighting amongst themselves. This doesn‘t mean we can sit on our thumbs, though. Have you asked Anne? I‘m sure that Sarah has something to do with your grandfather‘s death and Ron being sent away.”
“I asked. Sarah just wasn‘t content with what she got.” Tommy leaned back on his chair and played with his phone with his legs resting on the desk.
He was not at all concerned, but Damian was. It was a crucial time, and there could be no mistakes. If they managed to find any fault in Anthony, they would hold all the power in the Marwood Group
Damian believed that anyone would have a weakness, and Anthony should be no exception.
“And you really believe that?” Damian felt defeated by how naive his son was. “Let me tell you this, but your uncle will never surrender his share even if you hold a knife to his throat. To do it for a past lover would make even less sense! Anne didn‘t say anything else?”
“Yeah,” Tommy simply responded.
Furious, Damian realized he had to find out for himself as he could not rely on Tommy.
“I‘ve yet to organize a dinner after Xander got promoted to the position of CFO. I guess I should play nice...” he mumbled.
Work was not hectic in the office because it was not the end of the month.
Anne packed up everything and prepared to leave as soon as office hours were coming to an end. She had no urge to appeal herself as Xander‘s assistant and often left earlier than the CFO himself.
As soon as she stood up, Xander called out to her, “Hang on... Come to my office for a bit.”
Wondering if she had to work overtime, she set her purse down and went into the CFO‘s office.
“You get off work earlier than me, so I need to be extra cautious if I need you for something, or I might not be able to find you.” About the time Anne called Xander for help, he called back afterward and explained that he did not hear his phone ringing because he was in a restaurant with loud music.
The explanation meant nothing to Anne since what should not happen had already happened. Luckily, Anthony did not force himself on her, and Anne knew well enough that it had something to do with Nigel.
“Do you need me for something?” she asked.
“Work overtime, and join us for dinner. Mr. Marwood is buying us dinner.”
Anne assumed that with Ron gone. Xander was referring to Damian and asked, “I have to go,
too?”
“Yeah. He specifically asked you to show up, so you have to go. Don‘t worry, I will protect you.”
Anne did not argue.
When they were at the restaurant, Xander seemed to have forgotten about his promise and was cheerfully chatting with the others while Anne was forced to drink. Anne was close to kicking Xander under the table.
Sensing her malicious intentions, he turned around and started drinking in her place.
‘Do I have to learn how to drink if I need to learn how to run a business from my father from now on? Ah! I suddenly don’t feel like working hard anymore. It must be scary to go to one dinner after another...‘ she thought.
After dinner, Damian arranged another round in the casino.
Inside the private room, men and women clung to one another.
Anne was supposed to sit next to Xander, but Damian had arranged for a beautiful woman to take her place.
However, the others did not ignore Anne and continued to chat or drink with her.
Anne desperately wished she could be invisible, but the opposite happened, and eventually, even the woman next to Xander started pouring liquor into Anne‘s glass as though she did not want Anne to be ignored.
“Have a drink.” The woman smiled seductively.
Not wanting to be rude, Anne took half the glass and got up to leave.
“Where are you going?” Xander asked.
‘I thought that your eyes were glued to that woman‘s chest, so why do you care?‘ Anne thought to herself and said, “The bathroom.
She walked out of the room, and just when Xander was about to go after her, Damian said,” You act like she‘s your daughter or something. I will keep an eye on her, okay?” There was a bathroom in the private room, but Anne did not want to use it after seeing a couple walk inside together and remain there for a while. She understood that something like that happened frequently, but knowing seeing it was different.
She stood before the mirror in a bathroom outside the room dazedly with flushed cheeks, wondering why she was still drunk after being extremely careful with her consumption and Xander helping to drink most of her drinks during the dinner.
She splashed cold water onto her face to sober up and exited the bathroom to find Damian waiting outside.
“Let‘s talk,” he said.
“This is not a good time. I need to go back...” She tried to walk past him, but Damian grabbed her by the arm. “Why did you think I called you out here to eat and drink?”
Chapter 379
“Ah!” Anne was shoved through a door with a gigantic pool but no guest inside.
“What do you think you are doing?”
“I’m asking you if Anthony killed my father.”
“What?” She scowled. “How would I know?”
Anne was amazed by how spot–on Damian’s guess was.
“Then I will ask you about something you do know. Why did Ron surrender half his share to Sarah?”
She looked away. “Your son came asking, and now you are doing the same. I told him that my mom annoyed Ron into giving her that!”
“You might be able to fool Tommy, but you won’t fool me, understand?”
“I really don’t know!” Annoyed, her throat began to feel dry, and her temperature rose. She considered for a moment if that was what being drunk felt like, but had a feeling that
something was wrong…
“Let me leave!” She turned to head for the door, but Damian shoved her, and she fell to the ground.
“What good will it do you to play against me?” Damian crouched. “Just tell the truth, and I’ll leave you alone.”
“I don’t know…” Anne’s sight began to blur.
Seeing how she refused to speak despite all the drinks she had taken, he realized that she might not be drunk enough. “Fine, don’t say anything then. Go back to the room later. Otherwise, the CFO will be worried,” he said mockingly and left.
Anne sighed a breath of relief and tried to crawl up, only to fall back onto the ground.
The pool next to her was like a mirror, but she could not see her own reflection. All Anne could think of was how much she wanted to jump inside to cool down.
Sensing her temperature rising, she wondered why she would feel this way with merely a few glasses of drinks.
She gritted her teeth and tried to back on her feet when a few smug–looking men walked inside. When they spotted Anne on the ground, they walked over with grins on their faces. ” What a beauty. You look cute with those rosy cheeks.”
“The casino probably stationed her here for us!”
“Well, let’s dig in, then!”
while
One of the men went to hug Anne, and Anne slapped his hand aside after standing up stumbling backward. “You have the wrong person. I don’t work here…”
They stood in her way.
“No? Well, you are now.”
“Don‘t worry. We promise we will be gentle.” “Come here and give me a hug!” Anne struggled to get away, but a man grabbed her from behind and listed her up.
“Ah! Let me go!” She struggled with all her might. “Call me darling, and I will let you go,” the man said evilly.
Naturally, Anne was not about to comply.
“We‘ve reserved this room for ourselves, so you can yell all you want, but no one will come to help you, so you might as well just obey us!” “Get away.” Anne came close to letting a whimper escape at the heat she felt within her.
“Call me darling, or I‘ll throw you in there,” the man threatened.
“I said, let me go! I don‘t work here. I am going to call the police!” Anne fought back in disgust “Off you go!” The man tossed her into the pool.
“Ah!” Her scream was soon drowned by the water. Unable to swim, she sank like a piece of rock.
The men chuckled as they got ready to go inside and swim with the beautiful woman before them. Before they could do so, they heard a splash and someone seemed to have jumped inside before them.
Anne no longer felt like she was burning, but she could feel her life slipping out of her as the water drowned her.
Survival instinct had her struggling in the water, but the more she did, the faster she sank.
Just when she was about to drown, someone wrapped their arm around her waist and she ascended to the surface. She gasped for air with a pale face as she trembled in fear over almost dying.
She had thought that it was one of the men who saved her but was stunned when she recovered enough to turn and look. Also drenched, Tommy shot her a cold, devilish look. “Dramas are just drawn to you, aren‘t they?”
She moved her lips to speak, but no words came out as she tried to comprehend why Tommy would appear before her. “Hey! Who are you?” The men outside the pool shouted, unhappy that someone had taken their ‘toy‘. Tommy scanned the men with a dark look on his face before helping Anne toward the edge of the pool with one arm. “Go and wait inside the changing room. I will take care of these scum.”
Chapter 380 Anne only managed to get out of the pool with Tommy’s help, as it was extremely difficult for her to move while panting. She glanced at the men who were walking toward them and asked, “Can you handle this by yourself?”
He leaned into her ear. “It‘s not a good habit to doubt a man‘s ability.”
Her temperature rose again at the sensation of his breath brushing through her skin, and she immediately scowled.
Tommy took pleasure in seeing the blush on her face, and Anne shoved his hand away from her waist. “I‘ll leave it to you then.”
She turned to head into the changing room and heard wails from the outside, none of which belonged to Tommy.
Instead of taking off her clothes, she found a robe and put it on. With all strength drained from her fingers, she could not even tie the robe and was panting hard. By the end, she finally managed to do so. She knew she would not last long and had to leave as soon as possible. Frustrated and frightened, she headed outside and saw the men lying on the ground and floating on the pool, unable to get up. Clearly, there was no need to worry about Tommy, as he was grabbing onto one of the men‘s collars and beating his face until it was covered in blood. She immediately walked toward the door and left.
Her sight was blurred, and the world seemed to be spinning before her eyes.
Panicking, she had lost her sense of direction and could not find Xander. She did not know how she could leave, and all she could think of was to march forward until she was.
With what little sense she had left, she knew what was happening to her because alcohol would not have such a huge effect.
There were a lot of people in the private room, and someone must have touched her glass. She had not suspected a thing because she knew everyone there. The number one suspect would be Damian, as he was the one who arranged the dinner and called everyone to the casino.
“Ah!” She stumbled and fell forward, thinking that she would land on the ground, when she bumped into someone‘s chest and was anchored by the arm around her waist.
Without a second thought, she grabbed onto the person‘s clothes like she had found her last hope. “Help... Send me...to the hospital...”
Oliver looked at Anthony and did not interfere.
“Handle it,” Anthony said before lifting Anne up and leaving.
Oliver nodded and watched as Anthony disappeared into the distance before walking toward the private room.
Michelle, who had been hiding in the shadow, widened her eyes in surprise when Anthony took Anne and left.
She had dosed Anne with an aphrodisiac, and the effect would only wear off if she were sent to the hospital or…
Michelle immediately took her phone out to call Bianca but changed her mind before dialing the number.
She had been sick of being bossed around by Bianca, so she felt that it would be best to drive Bianca mad by informing her once Anthony and Anne had done the ‘deed‘.
Everyone was having the best time when the door to the private room flew open.
All sounds quieted down when they saw Oliver walking in, and Damian immediately set his glass down. “Is Anthony here?”
Even though he was Anthony’s uncle, he was still terrified of his ruthless yet powerful nephew.
“No. Where is Anne Vallois?” Oliver said.
“She went to the washroom.”
“Get someone to bring her back, then.”
Though Damian had a higher position in the company compared to Oliver, he held less power. Anyone in the Marwood Group would have to take commands from the Archduke Group, so he left the room reluctantly to search for Anne at Oliver’s command.
Xander followed Oliver outside the room and asked, “Did something happen?”
“How could you let Anne go outside on her own? She was drugged, and Mr. Marwood had already taken her away. He is not happy and told me to look into this.”
Xander’s expression darkened, realizing that someone inside the room had drugged Anne.
“Don’t tell anyone that Anne has been taken away. Keep searching while investigating, and let Damian bear take the blame for it.”
“Okay.”
Damian could not go into the ladies‘ room, so he called a waitress over for help.
When the waitress returned and informed him that there was no one in the washroom,
Damian took out his phone to call the manager when he spotted Tommy walking toward him.” Why are you here?”
Without a word, Tommy walked straight into the washroom. When he could not find Anne, he came outside only to be blocked by Damian.
“Who are you looking for? Anne Vallois?” Tommy narrowed his eyes coldly. “You saw
