Ch. 381..385: Powerful Papa with Triplet Babies Chapter 381-385

Chapter 381 “I am looking for her as well.” Damian had dropped by the pool but did not find Anne.

Tommy‘s expression darkened. “Did you hire people to rape her?”

“Rape...what? I just want to get her drunk so that I can get some answers. She was still sober when I took her to the pool, so I left,” Damian explained, “I wouldn‘t have come if Oliver didn‘t show up and ask me to do it. If something happens to her, all the better.” Tommy froze. “Anthony is here?” “No. I just saw Oliver. This is weird. Where is she? Did something really happen?” Tommy remained quiet thoughtfully.

Anne was taken to Julie‘s apartment and Anthony let go of her as soon as they were inside. She fell onto the ground dazedly, panting

She longed for someone‘s touch, but the man before her simply ignored her and left.

Anthony sat down on the couch with his legs crossed as he stared at her. “What do you want to say?”

She looked up dazedly as she tried to focus on Anthony. “I thought...I thought you were sending me to the hospital?”

“Me?” No one could order Anthony to do anything.

She closed her eyes and tears scrolled down her face, still wearing the robe, she was shaking like a leaf as she helplessly dug her nails onto the carpet.

Anne had not expected to run into Anthony and fall in his trap once again. It took so much effort to stay away from any physical contact with Anthony, and she could not allow herself to be involved with him again.

“Mm...” Unable to get up, her lips quivered in misery as she whimpered.

She was on the verge of losing all senses, when the one solution to end all her pain was right before her.

She glanced at him, her throat running dry.

Anthony remained seated calmly as he waited for his prey to approach.

“Send... Send me to...the hospital... Please...” She pleaded while sobbing.

“Go there yourself.”

“I... can‘t...” She gazed up at him. His husky voice had sent chills down her spine and she bit onto her lips in misery.

“Why not? If you can‘t stand, you can crawl,” he said and tilted his face to the side. “It‘s closer to crawl toward me than towards the door. Which will you choose?” Helpless and desperate, she snapped when Anthony made her choose and started crawling toward him until she was right before him. He reached out to touch her burning cheek and she grabbed onto his cold hand at the touch as

though she was worried that he would escape. “Get up.” Anthony was beginning to lose his patience as he had been holding back the entire time. However, he preferred to watch her break the rule, as he did not want to be referred to as a man who broke his promise.

“Come, Anne...” The moment their skins touched, he transformed into a relentless demon.

By the time Anne woke up, she felt as though her consciousness was split into a thousand pieces and was unable to recover from the dazed state. She did not know where she was or what she had done, and why she felt so exhausted.

The sound of running water from the bathroom brought her back to reality as she finally remembered where she was.

Details of what happened the night before slowly came back to her and she realized that she had submitted to Anthony and was at his mercy until she eventually lost consciousness. She gritted her teeth and crawled up from the bed with a frown, but fell as soon as her feet touched the ground. The bathroom door flew open and Anthony came outside with a towel around his waist as he looked at Anne, who lay sprawled across the floor.

Upset, she said, “You should have sent me to the hospital.”

“Are you ordering me?” He went into the bathroom. “I gave you a choice.” She bit on her lips, unable to argue. She was the one who sought help from him and considering how authoritative he was, she should have known that he would not do as she wished.

In the end, she lost her senses and succumbed.

She stood up. “From now on, whatever happens, please just ignore me,” she said, before leaving the bedroom. He grabbed onto the back of her neck and flung her toward the bed.

“Ah!”

He pressed himself down against her as he grabbed onto her face. “Kissing and running? Hm?” She glared at him in frustration as she struggled to retort, “...What else do you want? Should I

pay?”

His expression darkened. “You are still as sharp–tongued. Didn‘t have enough last night?” “Let me go. I want to go bac– umph!” He swallowed all the unspoken words on her tongue and Anne struggled to fight back when she sensed the pain on her lips. However, even with both her hands free, she was no match for his overpowering strength.

He paused in between kisses and said, “Stop moving around.” His husky voice struck her like lightning.

Chapter 382

Eventually, he let her go and Anne panted blankly, feeling as though all the air in her lungs were squeezed out.

“This guy is an insatiable beast!‘ She thought, before asking, “Can I…can I get up now?”

“There’s no hurry.” He stared at her like a hungry animal.

“Are you trying to kill me?” Unable to stand it any longer, she questioned angrily at how boundless Anthony’s lust was.

Anthony lifted her face by the chin forcefully. “Relax. I’ll let you live.”

The phone outside rang, and Anthony got off of her to answer the phone.

Anne hurried out of bed, knowing very well that it was far too dangerous for her to stay and that she needed to leave.

She noticed the phone on the coffee table since her last visit. Nowadays, no one would own a landline phone anymore as everyone has their own smartphone.

Even for a place as enormous as the Royal Mansion, all the servants were using their phones as well.

So who could possibly be the one who called the landline phone instead of Anthony’s personal number?

Anthony picked up the phone and Oliver’s voice came through the line. “Ms. Vallois is currently thought to be missing right now. Master Tommy searched the entire casino last night and was livid when he didn’t find her.”

Anthony remained silent.

“Ms. Vallois was with Master Tommy when she ran into you, Mr. Marwood. I heard that he was the one who rescued her. There were a few men by the pool who were harassing her, so I felt that something wasn’t right,” Oliver continued.

“How can it be right when she’s drugged?” He narrowed his eyes coldly. “Look into it.”

“Yes.”

Anthony set the phone down and turned to stare at Anne, who had already stepped out of the bedroom.

Feeling like he was staring right through her, Anne pursed her lips.

She had heard every single word from the conversation. She knew that she was drugged, but did not know who it was.

‘Anthony is looking into it?‘ She thought to herself. ‘Why…‘

The next day, Anne did not show up for word in the Marwood Group.

Damian was worried sick and called Xander a few times in a row, but Anne never appeared in

the office.

In the end, he found himself in Xander‘s office in search for a solution. “If Anne really went missing, I have nothing to do with it,” Damian said, “Anne seemed to have too much to drink, so I took her to rest by the pool. She said she wanted to be alone, so I left.”

Xander listened seriously. “I believe you, and that‘s why I didn‘t go after Anne at the time. If you are responsible for her going missing, so am I.”

“No, this has nothing to do with you. It‘s my fault,” Damian said, before continuing in confusion, “how can a person just vanish into the air like that? Tommy left no stone unturned in the entire casino and she was nowhere to be found.”

“Yeah. It‘s not going to be good if we can‘t find her.”

“What do you mean?” Damian straightened his back

“Don‘t you know that a certain someone would be upset is something happens to Anne Vallois?

Damian was about to question why Anthony would care when he was already engaged, but immediately held back on his words and chuckled at Xander, both knew by heart what was truly happening “Anthony is probably searching for her as well, right? If he can‘t find her, there‘s no way we can,” Damian said.

“There‘s something you might not be aware of,” Xander said in a mysterious tone.

“What?”

“Anne was drugged before she went missing. Someone inside the room did it. I think Tommy knows about this. Has he not told you?” Xander stared at Damian unblinkingly.

Damian gaped at him. “Who...who drugged her? Tommy didn‘t say anything! Everyone inside that room was employees of this company, so why would anyone drug her? What‘s going on?” “Actually, I thought that it was you. After all, you were the one who organized the dinner and proposed that we all go to the casino afterward.” “What? Mr. Clayton, don‘t point a blaming finger at just anyone. I had somets that I needed to ask Anne about, but I didn‘t need to drug her for that. I won‘t be able to get any answer from her if I do.”

Seeing how shocked Damian was, Xander smiled in relief. “I was just suspecting, but that wouldn‘t make sense as well as you would be the first person anyone suspects.”

“That‘s right, Mr. Clayton,” Damian said earnestly, “I swear that I haven‘t done anything like that!”

“Even if I trust you, there’s no point. You have to convince Anthony.”

“I know. You have to talk to Anthony for me.”

“You are his uncle. It‘s better if you talk to him in private,” Xander suggested. “Of course, I would, but if you help me out as well, it would just act like insurance. I appreciate it. I‘ll buy you drinks next time!” Damian said.

Xander listened casually. Damian headed out of the office with a dark expression and proceeded to call Tommy as soon as he returned to his own office. “What is wrong with you? Why didn‘t you tell me Anne was drugged?” “Did you do it?” Tommy asked.

“Of course, not! Everyone seems to think that I did it, though!” Damian refused to be accused of something he did not do.

“Don‘t panic. I think Anthony might have taken Anne away with him.”

“Him?” Damian stopped pacing for a moment. “Are you sure?”

“You can keep searching if you don‘t believe me.” Tommy hung up rudely, as he was in a terrible mood.

Anthony had taken Anne away while she was drugged; Anne did not return to her own apartment, nor had her name appeared in any hospital, so it was obvious what those two had gone off to do.

Tommy wanted to call the Faye family and leak the information to Bianca, but his contempt for Bianca prevented him from doing so.

Even if Bianca found out that Anthony was sleeping around, she would only try to hurt Anne in secret

He gave up, but narrowed his eyes fiercely, determined to find out what had happened on his own.

Chapter 383

She pulled at the door and found out that it had been locked from the outside.

Unable to get out, she paced back and forth inside the apartment.

Anthony had left her here and commanded her to stay, before leaving.

Anne could not understand why he would keep her here. Naturally, she did not think it was merely a change of scenery from the Royal Mansion as Anthony was now engaged to Bianca.

To her, Anthony had to be a mad man or a demon to insist on controlling her despite having a

fiance.

She sat on the couch and whimpered when she pulled her sore muscles, so she fell to her side. and laid down on the couch, not daring to move around as it was Julie’s apartment.

She could not quite tell how she felt when she looked at Julie’s painting.

Julie must have resented Sarah, but in Anne’s point of view, she felt that the only one at fault

was Ron.

Sarah could not possibly stop someone from pursuing her and it was not her fault that her pursuer’s wife took it upon herself to confront Sarah.

Ron would have fallen for someone else even if Sarah did not exist, but to Anthony, Sarah’s existence itself was a sin that could not be forgiven.

Since she could not get out, Anne could only accept her current situation.

Wondering who had her purse and phone, she glanced at the phone next to the couch and got up to dial her own number.

It went through, and was answered after a few seconds.

Anne jumped and heard Xander saying, “I’m not the owner of this phone, but I can help to leave a message.”

“It’s me, Anne.”

“Oh. How are you, Ms. Vallois?”

“I…I am fine. Please hold on to my things. I will go get them from you

later.”

“Don’t worry. I will. It’s not that busy in the office at the moment, so just rest.”

“…” Anne summoned the courage and said, “Can you give me Anthony’s phone number? I forgot.”

“Sure.”

Once she had the number, she called Anthony right away.

Meanwhile, Anthony was in a meeting when his phone started vibrating. He took it out for a glance, before putting it back into his pocket.

Shortly after, his phone started vibrating again and he chose to ignore it.

The others in the meeting did not react, but were all overwhelmed by questions.

‘Who was calling?‘

‘Why isn‘t Mr. Marwood answering?‘

‘Why isn‘t he angry that the person keeps calling?‘

‘It has to be a woman, someone of great import to Mr. Marwood. Why else would she have his number and why else would Mr. Marwood tolerate her calling over and over again?‘

After calling five times, Anne was about to slam the phone back to the table, but set it down gently in the end when she remembered that these once belonged to Julie.

After the meeting, Anthony went back to the office and saw five missed calls in his phone, so he called back.

Anne jumped at the ringing of the phone, uncertain if it was from Anthony, so she answered but did not say a single word.

“You want something?” Anthony said. Anne released the breath she didn‘t know she had been holding. “When can I go outside? I need to eat, or are you going to starve me to death?” “There‘s food in the

fridge.”

“Fridge?” The refrigerator was completely empty from what Anne remembered, so she went into the kitchen and opened the refrigerator, only to find it packed with fresh ingredients.” Are you running to the grocery shore or something?” “Anything else?”

Anne wanted to ask when she would be allowed to leave. She did want to eat before leaving, but was surprised to find a refrigerator packed with food.

Just as she was about to say something, she heard someone knocking on the door; not in the apartment where she was in, but on the phone, followed by the sound of heels on the floor.

“Are you busy? Let‘s grab lunch...”

Bianca quieted down as soon as she saw that Anthony was on the phone and waited patiently for him.

Anne, on the other hand, held her breath at the sound of Bianca‘s voice and hung up before saying anything.

Chapter 384

The sound of Bianca‘s voice reminded how immoral it felt to sneak around behind someone else‘s fiance. She hated the feeling and struggled to cope with it.

She could not bring herself to imagine what Nigel would think of her if Bianca told him that Anne was involved with Anthony, especially when she was the one who took the initiative the night before.

Anne knew that this was Anthony‘s intention, or he would have ignored her back in the casino or simply sent her off to a hospital. He had brought her here to watch her beg for his touch and not be able to justify her own action.

She sighed as she took the food out of the refrigerator and started cooking. She had not eaten properly the night before, or in the morning and at noon this day, so she had to eventually eat as she was not sure whether Anthony would appear again.

When she opened the refrigerator, she froze at a sudden thought: there were more than a week‘s worth of groceries inside, so did it mean that he planned on keeping her here for a week?

She snapped and tossed the frying pan away. Inside the office, Anthony set his phone down and Bianca walked up to him.

“I found a pretty nice restaurant. Let‘s go together.”

Before he could respond, someone knocked on the door and he said, “Come in.”

Oliver came in and reported the details of the meeting earlier and nodded when he saw Bianca. “It‘s lunch time now. Are you still going to work?” Bianca asked. Anthony shot Oliver a look. “You can‘t cancel the meeting?” “No. Mr. Carter will be leaving the country this evening. He won‘t return until a few months from now.”

Anthony‘s expression darkened as he wordlessly considered.

Knowing her place, Bianca said, “Go ahead, Anthony. I‘ll be fine. We can always go next time.”

“Sure. I‘ll call you when I‘m done.”

As soon as Anne was done cooking, she heard a sound outside the door. Startled, she ran toward the balcony and hid behind the plants.

Anthony walked in and glanced at the dining room when he caught the scent of a freshly cooked meal.

There were a few dishes on the table and none had been touched just yet.

Anne crouched behind the plant and peek outside to find Anthony. She froze and walked up to him. “Why are you back? I thought you were meeting with Bianca?” “She‘s busy.” He tossed his phone to the side. “Start serving.” Anne pursed his lips at the command and wordlessly began to plate the food for him, before

sitting down across him.

There was only one main dish and some soup, but Anthony proceeded to eat without any complaint to her surprise.

The two went on to eat in silence, with nothing but the sound of their cutleries clicking in the

room.

Anne was deep in thought as she ate as she considered what would make Bianca give up on a chance to eat with Anthony.

‘I thought that Anthony is everything to Bianca?‘ She thought, ‘Is there anything else more important?‘

“When did you learn how to cook?” He asked abruptly.

She was stunned. “From when I worked part–time in the university canteen…”

Anthony did not ask anything further, and Anne tried her best to conceal her nervousness.

She did not learn it from a part–time job, but had learnt it for the sake of her children. However, no one could know the true reason behind it…

Meanwhile, Bianca sat in her car and scrolled through her contact list. She had made time so that she could be with Anthony, but she could only give up if he was busy.

Chapter 385 If he was not eating, she saw no point in eating on her own. She never ate much anyway and was simply using it as an excuse to spend time with Anthony. At the moment, there was something that she needed to find out, so she called Michelle.

“How‘s Anne right now?”

“It went south.” “What?” Bianca paled. “What happened?”

“Those men were supposed to grab Anne, but someone came to her rescue at the last minute.”

“Who?” Bianca sat up straight.

“Anthony.”

“What?!” Bianca tightened her grip on the steering wheel. “And? He took Anne away with him?”

“Yeah. I wanted to go check on her this morning, but it turns out that those men were all horribly beaten and Anne was rescued safely.”

“That‘s not possible! Why are they saying that Anthony took her away? How can you say that? Did you see it with your own eyes?” Bianca refused to accept it. “Based on their description, it can only be Anthony. It‘s not like you don‘t know what it‘s like between those two.”

“What‘s between them? There‘s nothing between them! Michelle, you better watch your tongue!” Bianca hung up in rage and slammed her phone against the passenger seat, her blood boiling in fury. If Anthony had taken Anne with him after she was drugged, she already knew what had happened and the thought itself left Bianca consumed by jealousy.

r running in

After the meal, Anthony sat in the living room and listened to the sound of

v the kitchen as Anne washed the dishes.

He could not quite put a finger on the emotions he was feeling and felt like he had gone mad to turn Bianca down, only so he could come to Anne. Anne paid attention to the sound outside as she washed the dishes and noticed that he was not leaving. She hurriedly completed the task in hand and went back to the living room.

“Can I leave? I need to go to work.”

He shot her a look. “I am your boss.”

His words were final and he held the power to control everyone in the Archduke Group and the Marwood Group, let alone a mere assistant. “I can‘t just stay here forever!” Anne was terrified that he truly intended on locking her up for a week, as she would be driven out of her mind.

She did not really care if she could go to work, but she did not want to be alone with Anthony.

‘It was far too dangerous.

Anthony stood. “It depends on my mood.”

Frustrated by how demeaning his tone was, she questioned, “You came all the way here when vou were supposed to be with Bianca so that I will know what it feels like to be a homewrecker. right?”

He halted and stiffened.

“Your mother used to live here and you took me, the daughter of whom she hated, here and locked me up as your lover so that Bianca will be put through the same thing as your mother had gone through. Do you think she‘s going to be happy about this?” He turned around and shot her a sidelong glance that was cold enough to freeze. “Say that again!”

“Am I wrong? How are you any different than your father...ah!” When he flung his fist, she instinctively closed her eyes and stumbled backward until she backed up against the wall.

“Baam!”

For a moment, her heart stopped. Not feeling any pain, she opened her eyes and saw that his fist had landed on the wall right next to her face. The wall was dented by the hit and she could only imagine what would happen to her if it had landed on her face. She trembled before his brute force and paled. “What‘s wrong? Keep going.” She pursed her lips and stared into his eyes as she held her breath. “Scram.“
