Ch. 386..390: Powerful Papa with Triplet Babies Chapter 386-390
Chapter 386 Anne swallowed hard and moved away from the fist and Anthony‘s shadow that loomed over her, before running out of the apartment.
She came close to falling onto the ground when she entered the elevator when she was once again reminded of what a twisted psychopath Anthony was. She felt that she narrowly escaped hell, but at the same time, was impressed by herself for daring to say such a thing to him. She should consider herself lucky that she managed to get out alive, if she did not provoke Anthony and remained in that apartment, she could not imagine what would happen when Nigel found out about it.
Anthony went into the bathroom and glanced at the wound and blood on his fist, before grabbing a towel to wipe the blood away with a dark expression.
He should have tortured her to death the night before. He had been too merciful
Oliver knew that Anthony needed to view certain documents, so he knocked on the office door upon Anthony‘s return and handed the documents over. When he spotted the wound on the back of Anthony‘s hand, he questioned nervously, “Mr. Marwood, your hand...”
“It‘s fine,” Anthony said coldly.
He could still move so it was merely a wound on the surface, but it looked like a self–inflicted wound, as no one would dare to pick a fight with Anthony.
As a capable secretary, Oliver knew when to stop and did not ask any more questions, though he knew that the wound must have something to do with Anne.
Anne dragged her exhausted body toward the Marwood Group and knocked on Xander‘s office door, before walking in. Xander smiled at her. “Here you are. Here are your things.” He handed her purse to her.” There are missed calls on your phone. Take a look.” “Thank you, Mr. Clayton. Can I take leave for today?” “Of course. Go home. Don‘t force yourself when you‘re not feeling well,” he said sincerely.
Feeling uncomfortable, she grabbed her purse and left, wondering how Xanuer did not even ask her about what happened back in the private room.
Anne was not certain if Damian was the one who dragged her, but ran into him as soon as she went to the elevator.
“Come to my office.”
“Can‘t you say what you have to say here?” Anne did not see the point in going to Damian‘s office, since there was no one next to them. She did not know that Damian was afraid of Anthony, as the Archduke Group had full control over the surveillance cameras in the Marwood Group, and though there was no audio recording, Damian didn‘t feel secure. “This is the office, so what can I do to you? I just want to ask you about what happened in the private room.”
She hesitated, before following Damian.
Damian‘s expression shifted as soon as they entered his office and he said sarcastically. “You were messing around with Anthony, weren‘t you? You won‘t be here at this time otherwise
“All thanks to the drug you gave me last night, Mr. Marwood!” She retorted.
“I didn‘t drug you. Don‘t blame me for it!”
“That‘s odd. Who else would do such a thing, then?”
“I don‘t care who did it. I didn‘t! I only called you here to make sure that you understand what you shouldn‘t say in front of Anthony.” Damian was concerned that he might lose his position in the company. His father had passed away, his brother was sent away and his own son had no ambition at all, so there was no one else he could rely on.
“If you didn‘t do it, there‘s nothing you should be worried about,” she said, before leaving.
Once she was inside the elevator, she stared at the floor display inside the elevator as it descended.
In truth, she did not think that Damian was the one who drugged her as well. If he was behind it, Tommy would not have come to her rescue as that would mean he was going against his father‘s command.
Chapter 387
Damian would not be foolish enough to do something, knowing that he would appear suspicious.
Anne wondered if Anthony had found anything and after what happened at noon, she could not quite ask him about it.
She had always been wary toward Anthony.
Anthony had kept his words for Nigel‘s sake, but she had broken the pack and allowed Anthony to touch her, so there might happen again and there would be no end to it.
Anne sighed with resignation and checked the missed calls on her phone to find that Nigel had called her twice around noon.
She walked out of the Archduke Group and called him back as she walked toward the subway station. “Dad, what‘s wrong?” “Did you go to work today?” Nigel asked. She subconsciously wanted to hide her track, but the fact that she did not go to work was not exactly a secret, so he would see right through her if she tried to lie.
“No.”
“Today‘s not a Sunday. Did you take leave?”
“I had a bit too much to drink last night during our company‘s gathering. My head is still hurting, so I applied for sick leave today. I just went to the office to take my purse and phone, so I didn‘t get your call.”
“I see.” Nigel paused and asked, “Did Anthony come looking for you?” “Why do you ask?” “I‘m just worried that he will bother you. You always keep everything to yourself.”
“I‘m fine. He won‘t come after me. Bianca is his fiancé, after all.” Anne did not know if Nigel truly cared for her, or if it was Bianca who was trying to learn more about the ight before through Nigel, so she cut to the chase. “Dad, did Bianca say something to you.
Nigel quieted down, and Anne immediately knew that he had called because Bianca asked him to.
“I don‘t mean anything bad. I just didn‘t want Anthony to get in between you two,” he said gently.
To Anne, the situation could not have been worse. She did not want to cause Nigel any trouble, but did not know how she could explain that she was drugged. “Bianca said that you spent the night with Anthony. Is that true?” Anne jumped in shock, uncertain as to how Bianca found out about the night before. “Why...would she say that?” “She said that you were drinking in the casino and left with Anthony. Tell me the truth, Anne,
is that true?” Anne stood by the side of the road and stared blankly at the traffic, unable to figure a way to respond.
In the end, she lowered her head to stare at her feet and lied, “...That didn‘t happen. Nothing happened between me and Anthony. Tell Bianca that I‘ve never wanted to steal anything or anyone from her. I just want to live my life.” “Okay. I believe you.” Nigel hung up and went back to the living room. Both Dorothy and Bianca were waiting gloomily as they looked to Nigel for answers. He sat down and said, “I asked Anne, and she said that she wasn‘t with Anthony last night.” “And you believe her? She‘s full of bullsh*t!” Bianca accused. “Yeah. Why would someone say that she was with Anthony if they didn‘t see them together?” Dorothy took her daughter‘s side. “Why didn‘t she answer her phone at noon if nothing happened?” Bianca questioned. “It has to be because she was otherwise engaged.” “That‘s not it. She got drunk last night and left her phone with the CFO,” Nigel explained. “She disappeared for the entire night and you are saying that it‘s all just a coincidence? Dad, you just believe her more, right? Do you not care about how I feel?” Bianca sobbed. Nigel‘s heart softened at the sight of his daughter crying. “Of course, not. When have I ever act like I don‘t care about you? How can you say something so hurtful?” “What exactly is going on?” Dorothy asked, “You can‘t just believe that Anne is innocent because she said so, right? Nigel, you can‘t blame us for doubting her. After all, she had done this before.”
“If you have proof, I will confront Anne,” Nigel said, “Anthony had made me a promise, and I trust that he won‘t break it.”
“He did, but what if some woman tries whatever she can to seduce him? Dad, you and Mom have just gotten to know Anne and you don‘t know what she is capable of. She used to plant herself in the Royal Mansion shamelessly. You can ask any of the servants the mansion if you don‘t believe me!” Bianca said. “It‘s in the genes. I‘m not surprised,” Dorothy said sarcastically.
Chapter 388 Nigel‘s expression darkened. “I‘m her father. Are you trying to insult me?” Dorothy chuckled, “Nigel, you‘ve been extremely sensitive since you arrived in Luton. You have only recently gotten to know that Anne is your daughter, why are you taking this so personally?”
“Do not make claims when you have nothing to back them with. I am going back to the office. “Nigel had hurried back home for lunch after learning about Bianca‘s tantrum, and had to rush back
After he left, Bianca and Dorothy remained seated on the couch. Dorothy noticed the fury on Bianca‘s face and consoled her, “Your dad cares about you. He wouldn‘t have hurried back home once he heard that you were upset.” “I don‘t want him to be fair. I want him to be on my side no matter what.” Bianca was overwhelmed by rage and jealousy at the moment. “Of course! Your dad raised you, and Anne is just an illegitimate child. So what if he has accepted her? She can‘t possibly compare to you.” Dorothy was confident. “But are you sure about what happened last night?”
“Of course I am! Someone saw with their own eyes that Anthony took Anne away with him.” Bianca stood with a vicious expression. She could not understand why Anne would be such a threat when she was far superior in terms of looks and talents. Seeing how frustrated she was, Dorothy suggested, “I‘m just worried that your dad might start connecting with Sarah again through Anne.” “What?” Alarmed, Bianca said, “will Sarah try to seduce him?”
“She won‘t have what it takes even if she tries.” Dorothy was confident that she would spend the rest of her life with Nigel since she managed to get him to marry her once again all those years ago. “What I‘m trying to say is that children are important to men. Mothers of all time have all won their entitlement and rights from giving birth to an heir. You‘ve just gotten engaged to Anthony, and god knows when you would actually get married! If you get pregnant, you won‘t be his fiance anymore, but Mrs. Marwood!” Bianca quieted down hesitantly. “You haven‘t gotten pregnant yet. Is there a problem?” Dorothy looked at Bianca‘s belly with concern.
“What are you talking about?” Offended, Bianca said, “I‘m perfectly fine! You can‘t just get pregnant in one go!”
“I know you are fine. Work harder and be with Anthony when you are fertile. Once you are pregnant, Anne will have no way of getting between you two.” “I will head back to my studio now.” Bianca left the
house and drove back thoughtfully. She did not know how to tell her mother that Anthony had not touched her at all. He was busy, and so was she. When they finally had time to sit down and have a drink, he would fall asleep
either listening to her playing the piano, or when they were talking. She knew that he was busy with work, and tried to be understanding despite feeling sad about
1. it.
She could not bring herself to seduce him either, because she did not think she would have to with her beauty, and was reluctant to degrade herself to acting like the likes of Anne.
Feeling more and more frustrated, she almost hit the car ahead of her, thinking, ‘So I need to find a way to get Anthony to sleep with me so that I can bear his child?‘
Anne took the keys to open the door and halted the moment she stepped into the apartment.
Tommy turned around with a smile. “Welcome back.”
Anne felt guilty for leaving after Tommy had saved her in the casino and walked over. “Where did you get the key?”
“Oh, I had one duplicated from the spare key you hid under the plant. Any problem?”
“You...do you think it’s okay if I do the same thing?”
“Yeah.”
“You only think that because I won‘t do such a thing.” She tossed her purse onto the couch.” Thank you for yesterday.” “You left with Anthony, didn‘t you?” Tommy asked coldly. Sensing that something was wrong, she thought that he was upset with how unappreciative she was and explained, “I didn‘t feel so
well so I wasn‘t thinking.” ‘It‘s not that bad, is it?‘ She thought. “You weren‘t thinking, or you desperately wanted Anthony to show up?” “Wha–” Before she could finish, he darted toward her and shoved her onto the couch. “Ah!” She gaped when he placed his hand on her stomach and lifted her clothes. His face twisted at the sight of all the marks throughout her body and said, “You two went all out, huh?”
“Are you crazy?” Anne immediately pulled her clothes down and shoved at bir arms and shoulders. Tommy held her in place. “Yeah. I heard that crazy people can get away from doing anything.”
Chapter 388 Anne knew that she was powerless before Tommy and regained her composure. “Tommy. Marwood, are you insane? Something did happen last night and I had to leave! It wasn‘t intentional!”
“You were drugged, right?” Tommy said.
“So you know.” She sneered, “But you don‘t know who did it. It‘s hilarious.”
“Must be someone you know.” He stared down at her.
Anne, too, had a general idea of who might have drugged her, but had to focus on handling Tommy first. “Can you let me go? What else do you want from me?”
“What do I want?” His lips curled into a calculative smile. “You will find out soon.”
He then got up and let her go, before leaving immediately.
Anne sat up and remembered that he still had the key to her apartment a few moments later. She went after him, but Tommy was long gone by then.
Rendered speechless, she went back into the apartment and closed the door behind her. She had only recently changed the lock, and changing it again would only be a temporary solution. If Tommy insisted on getting in, changing the lock would not do and she simply had to move away.
‘But where?‘ She thought, ‘To that apartment across Julie‘s?‘
Both physically and mentally exhausted, she fell onto her bed and refused to move again.
Anthony was an insatiable beast and Anne could not understand why he was not satisfied when he already had Bianca. She drifted into sleep shortly after and by the time she woke up, the sky had turned dark.
Anne hurried upstairs and found her children playing.
Overjoyed to see their mother, the triplets cheered, “Mama!”
Their adorable faces had healed every wound within her heart and were far better remedies for her wary heart than a good night.
“Have you eaten?” She asked. “They insisted on waiting for you. I was just about to call!” The nanny said. “It‘s normal that Mama isn‘t home!” Charlie said. “She wasn‘t home last night!” Chloe added. “Did you go to look for the uncle that looks like me?” Chris asked. Anne felt helpless as it was becoming harder to fool her children when they were so intelligent. “No. I don‘t know him that well.” Anne took their hands. “Get up. Let‘s eat!”
She wondered why her children seemed to assume that she was close to Anthony.
Considering how they had followed Anthony when he went to their school, she took the time to educate her children after dinner, instead of playing games with them. She informed them properly that she did not really know Anthony, and they could not go anywhere with him.
To ensure that she had made a point, she added, “What if he is a monster that eats little kids? You will never get to see me again!”
“Will we be enough? We are little,” Chloe asked innocently
“Hey, it‘s not about if he will be full!‘ Anne thought in frustration,
“He buys us ice–cream!” Charlie had a good memory and remembered that Anthony had bought them ice–cream, even though they did not get to finish it. “We eat ice–cream, and then he eats us?” Chris asked.
Anne bowed her head in resignation. Instead of feeling intimidated, the triplets appeared to be excited about the idea 1
‘Why?‘ She thought, ‘Anthony is a terrifying person!‘
She distinctly remembered how scared she was the first time she saw Anthony. She hid behind Sarah as she thought that she might be eaten alive.
In reality, her instinct had been right. He had devoured her in every possible way.
However, the triplets were not at all afraid of Anthony. Even if it was an instinct for them to not fear their father, it only made sense that they were slightly intimidated at the very least, but they were not “Just don‘t leave with him, okay?” “Okay!” They agreed in unison, all the while having other ideas.
Before going to bed, Anne checked her phone to see where Anthony was and saw that he was in the Archduke Group.
As expected, he had to be extremely busy to be in the office at such hours. Regardless, she simply hoped that he would not appear before her out of the blue.
Dear before
After what had happened earlier at noon, Anne felt strongly that he would no her anytime soon.
At eleven, Anthony left the office and returned to the Royal Mansion. He tossed his jacket onto the couch when he entered the living room and realized that Hayden and the other servants were nowhere to be found.
“Welcome back.”
He looked up and saw Bianca walking down the stairs in an enticing dress, her figure and demeanor brightening the room in an instant.
She stepped toward him elegantly with a smile.
“You are still awake?” He asked.
“I was waiting for you!” She fell into his arms. “You are done with work for the day?” “Yeah.” He wrapped an arm around her waist.

She stepped toward him elegantly with a smile.
“You are still awake?” He asked.
“I was waiting for you!” She fell into his arms. “You are done with work for the day?” “Yeah.” He wrapped an arm around her waist.
Chapter 390 “Let‘s go back to the room and rest. It‘s late.” Bianca reached out to grab Anthony‘s hand, and he moved away from her touch.
Her heart sank and when she spotted the wound on the back of his hand, she grabbed his hand in shock. “What happened to your hand? Who did this?”
“I hit myself by accident. It‘s fine.”
Bianca could not understand how he could be so severely injured by ‘accidentally hitting himself‘. She was extremely upset that despite her preparation for a passionate night, it became clear that nothing was going to happen. Bianca knew that she was ovulating, and if she wanted a child, she would have to wait for another month to try after this.
Considering Anthony‘s injury, there was simply no way that they could be intimate and she did not want to appear desperate.
“Hayden, go grab the medical kit,” she said worriedly, “it‘s an external injury, but you still need to treat it or it will get infected.”
“I will go for a shower first,” he said.
“Sure. You don‘t want to get water on your wound after applying ointment onto it.” Bianca waited in the bedroom with a troubled expression as she listened to the sound of water running in the bathroom.
Thinking that there had to be some proof if Anthony had indeed spent the night with Anne, she walked toward the bathroom and quietly slid open the glass door so that there was a gap for her to peek inside.
Anthony stood tall inside the shower, with water running down the wild lines of his muscles.
A few scratch marks on his back came into Bianca’s sight and she immediately realized who had caused it.
It was Anne.
Her heart was instantly filled with anger and malicious urges.
Fearing that Anthony would discover her, she slowly closed the door and left the room to calm herself outside.
Merely guessing that it had happened and actually seeing proof that it did were different, and
she was hit with the realization that they had indeed spent the night together.
Anthony had helped to ease the symptoms caused by the drug in Anne‘s body and they shared a passionate night together. Bianca had wanted to hurt Anne, but had helped her get closer to Anthony by accident in the end.
Bianca‘s face twisted with rage. After sleeping through the night, Anne dragged her exhausted body to the office. It hurt whether she sat or stood, because it had been too long since she had been with a man,
and Anthony was simply insatiable. She was glad that she could no longer bear children, or she didn‘t even know how many contraceptive pills she would have to take.
She walked out of the finance department to head to the washroom and she ran into Tommy.
Since they were still in the office, she would have to greet him properly to avoid being referred to as rude.
“Mr. Marwood.”
He walked past her with a half–smile, before stopping abruptly as though he had just remembered something. “You want this?”
Anne turned around and saw the key in his hand; the keys that opened the door to her apartment.
“Here. Take it.” He shook the key.
She stared at the key, doubting if Tommy would be so easy–going.
“Do you want it or not?” He asked impatiently.
Thinking that he would do anything out of line in the office, she walked over and reached for the key.
Before she could grab it, something tripped her and she fell forward. Anne widened her eyes in shock, unable to control her body.
Tommy caught her as she fell and before Anne could react in any way, she froze at the soft sensation on her lips. Her petal–soft lips had caused his heart to skip a beat at the contact.
Meanwhile, Anthony stood before his desk and stared at the surveillance feed with an
expression cold enough to freeze.
That was the state Oliver found Anthony as soon as he stepped into Anthony‘s office. Tommy moved away sheepishly and let Anne go. He shook the key in his hand as he turned and walked toward the elevator. “I‘ll be taking this with me.” She stood dazedly and did not realize what had happened until Tommy disappeared from her sight.
‘What‘s wrong with him?‘ She thought, ‘He can‘t just kiss people like that! Is he crazy?‘ She turned and walked into the washroom, tossing her phone aside, before washing her mouth as though she had touched something extremely filthy with them. She did not stop until her lips were red.
Just then, she received a message on her phone. Suddenly overwhelmed by an ominous feeling, she grabbed the phone and was instantly stunned after reading the text message.
It was from Tommy and he had basically informed her that the surveillance cameras in Marwood Group were under the Archduke Group‘s control and their every move was being watched, he also mentioned that this was her punishment.
“Tommy Marwood, you moron! Ahhh!!!” She screamed in rage.
Another person who was in the toilet came outside and stared at Anne in fear.
Embarrassed, she darted out of the washroom.
Once she was outside, she looked up blankly at the surveillance camera above her, wondering how they were monitored.
Tommy would not have tried to kiss her under the camera if no one was watching, which meant that it was safe for her to assume that Anthony had seen what happened. At that very moment, she seemed to
see Anthony‘s dark, vicious eyes behind the surveillance camera and felt chills down her spine.
