Ch. 481..485: Powerful Papa with Triplet Babies Chapter 481-485

Chapter 481

He was acting suspicious.

In the morning, Nigel said, "I need to head out for a business trip this afternoon."

"Again?"

"I've just moved my operation there, so I have to head over from time to time."

"Where to? For how long?"

"To Louxville, for three to four days."

Dorothy did not question him any further and said gently, "I will help organize your belongings later, then."

"Just let the servants do it."

"I’m your wife. It's my job,’ she said.

In the afternoon, Nigel returned home and his assistant helped to carry his luggage into the car, before the two left together.

Dorothy immediately called Bianca. "Check to see if your dad is really going on a business trip in Louxville."

it's not his first business trip. Stop second-guessing him."

"Bianca, I won't know what's happening if he's not around. He does go on business trips all the time, but do you know that he hung up on his phone last night in the study room as soon as I walked in? Why? He must be doing something behind my back!"

Wondering if her father was truly keeping secrets, Bianca agreed, "alright. I will look into it.'

'Don't just check where he is heading, but also the hotel he stays in and where he goes every single day,’ Dorothy reminded. "If everything checks out, I won't doubt him ever again."

Bianca wanted to remind her mother that this was not the first time she

had said so, but still helped to investigate regardless.

She found records of the flight ticket to Louxville and the hotel Nigel stayed in, so she reported back to Dorothy everyday with the updated information.

One day in the afternoon, Bianca and Dorothy went out for high tea and shopping.

"Sarah isn't as lucky as I am. She can't shop or eat with her daughter and has to live away from Anne. I pity her," Dorothy said smugly.

"She can't possibly compare to you," Bianca said. ' Her daughter is a cheap, disgusting wh*re."

"I don't even know why your dad cares so much about Anne. Is he blind to which daughter is making him proud?"

"Sarah and Anne are just good with pretending and they coaxed him into shutting out reality..." Bianca said.

Just then, her phone rang and she noticed that it was a call from her assistant. "What is it? I'm shopping outside right now."

"You asked me to check on your dad's schedule, right? He bought a train ticket to go to Santa Nila."

"Santa Nila?" Bianca froze, realizing that it was where Sarah was staying. If her father was heading to Santa Nila, he was certainly not there for business.

'What's wrong?" Dorothy asked.

"Dad went to Santa Nila."

Realizing what Bianca meant, Dorothy threw the clothes in her hand onto the ground in rage. "I knew it! I knew it!"

"I'm sorry, Ma'am, but the clothes..." The saleswoman came over to stop Dorothy from destroying the clothes.

Bianca narrowed her eyes dangerously. "What? Do we look like we can't afford them?"

The saleswoman was silenced and went to stand on the side.

Miserable, Dorothy ran out of the shop and Bianca hurried after her without paying for the clothes.

’Mom!'

Dorothy stood by the road and burst into tears. "He really went to see her. He has really... betrayed me!"

'Maybe Dad is there for something else. He has other friends there as well, ’ Bianca made a vain effort in consoling her.

'Alright. I will call him." Dorothy took out her phone and calmed herself as soon as the call was answered. "Are you busy?"

Chapter 482

■A bit." 'How's the weather in Louxville? Be careful not to catch a cold."

'I won't. I'm going to go now.” Nigel hung up.

Furious, Dorothy shouted, "Heard that? He didn't mention that he wasn't in Louxville! Why would he lie? Why?"

Bianca was just as angry as Dorothy was.

The fact that Nigel had gone to see Sarah was not only a betrayal toward Dorothy, but also a betrayal toward Bianca.

"I knew that something was wrong with your dad ever since we came to Luton. Well? That’s why!" Dorothy gritted her teeth. "And this is just

what we know so far from looking into it. God knows what's there that we don't know!"

Bianca evaluated the situation, knowing that she could not allow Nigel to be with Sarah, otherwise, he might abandon Dorothy and her. She

could not accept seeing her family destroyed and taken apart.

"Mom, there's something that I haven't told you out of fear that you would get hurt, but I don't want to keep you in the dark anymore," Bianca blurted out. "Back when Sarah was still in Luton, she was in a hotel room alone with Dad."

"Wh-what did you just say?" Dorothy wavered and fell.

"Mom, are you alright?" Bianca supported her weight and said, "Calm down! ■

'I...I didn't even know. They...they were sneaking around behind my back..." Dorothy felt like her head would explode at any moment. "I am going to kill her! Kill her..."

Bianca helped Dorothy into the car and Dorothy immediately searched for her phone to call Nigel, so that she could confront him.

Bianca grabbed her by the hand and stopped her. "Mom, you can't let him know that you are aware."

"Why not? He's the one who's cheating, not me. Why should I have to suffer?"

"I've asked Dad about this before and he said that you can choose to divorce him if you can't accept this. Let me ask you this, do you want a divorce?"

Terrified by the word 'divorce', Dorothy said, "No! I am never going to divorce him!"

'Which is why you shouldn't say anything to Dad. Just resolve this by dealing with the source of the issue," Bianca said.

'You mean Sarah?" Dorothy calmed down and came to a realization.' That's right. She is all the way in Santa Nila and it's easy to deal with her when she can't call anyone for help. Once she is out of the picture, Nigel's heart will be all mine!" 1

Nigel returned to the restaurant after the call, and Sarah did not bother asking who had called him, since she knew that it was from Dorothy.

'How dare that woman curse at my daughter? She even calls from time to time to provoke me,’ Sarah thought. Tm not someone she can bully!

Dorothy had used her daughter with Nigel to steal him away from me before, and now, it's about time that she finds out what it feels like to

have him taken away.'

'What did you order?" Nigel glanced at the order form and realized that she had ordered all the food he loved.

"I still remember what you like," she said.

Not knowing what to say, Nigel simply smiled in response.

"Do you remember what I like?"

Without another word, Nigel ordered two more dishes. 1

She beamed at him when she noticed that he had ordered dishes she liked.

They used to be the perfect couple who would never even fight. In the end, her lover was taken from her, but it did not mean that she had

forgotten about him.

Chapter 483

She knew that Nigel had not forgotten as well.

At night, Nigel sent Sarah back to her hotel and stopped outside the door for her own safety.

"Aren't you coming in for a drink?" Sarah asked. "Anne is not around, so can you just keep me company in her place?'

Nigel hesitated, and Sarah pulled him into her room, closing the door behind them.

She took out two glasses and poured wine into them at the bar table, and Nigel went to set his briefcase to sit down.

He felt uncomfortable that Sarah had sat down next to him, he wanted to move away, but did not want to appear like he was avoiding her as

Sarah seemed like she really just wanted to talk and drink.

They clicked glasses and the crisp sound echoed throughout the room. He drank his wine and felt the burning sensation down his throat.

Sarah observed Nigel and felt more and more drawn to him. She turned around sorrowfully and said, "I wonder when I can see Anne and share a meal with her. I would be happy to just see her..."

'I was going to talk to Anthony about this after finding Anne. It's been long enough," Nigel said.

Sarah did not seem overjoyed and filled their glasses, the air was filled with the bitter-sweet taste of the wine. "If I get to go back to Luton, we probably won't be able to drink and chat like this again, will we?"

Nigel felt his composure. "...With Anne by your side, you won't need me anymore."

Sarah smiled bitterly and gulped her wine down.

"Careful. Don't get drunk," Nigel reminded her.

"Why not? I'm already in my room, anyway." Sarah looked at him. "I have nothing to worry about if I get drunk with you. Even if you were to do

something to me, I'm more than happy to accept."

Nigel picked up his glass and sipped on his wine to conceal his feelings.

Sarah poured herself another glass and filled his glass as well. She set the bottle down and asked, "Do you remember where we first met?"

Nigel nodded. "I do."

"You are so charming when you are working hard for your goals. I used to think to myself that I would be the luckiest girl if my first love would be someone like you, not expecting that you really ended up being my boyfriend..." She reached out to tilt his face toward her, before moving closer to kiss him.

Nigel stopped her by holding her shoulder. "Sarah, you are drunk."

"I will only fall asleep if I'm drunk. I want to kiss you because that's what my heart desires." Sarah knew perfectly well if she was drunk.

"I'm a married man. You know that. I don't want to do anything immoral."

"Every day since we broke up, I have lived with the knowledge that you belong to another woman and share your bed with another woman. I

cried myself to sleep for nights. Do you know that?" She asked as tears welled up her eyes.

Nigel remained silent in misery.

"I don't mean to tear your marriage apart. Just warm me up from time to time, okay?" She stared into his eyes lovingly. "Nigel, just a little

bit..."

She inched in closer, and the hand on her shoulder that was stopping her moved away.

Nigel could not figure out what was the point of acting so recklessly, but he had chosen to forget about his wife for the moment, and carried

Sarah to the bed.

In the morning, he jolted awake and his heart sank when he saw Sarah asleep leaning against him.

He tip-toed out of the bed and grabbed his clothes.

Chapter 484

Sarah woke up and turned around. "Are you leaving?"

'What do you want to eat?"

Sarah opened her eyes to look at him, before wrapping her arms around his waist from behind. "I thought you were running away."

Indeed, Nigel did not quite know how to face her, but there was not a point to run from something that he did.

"I won't mention this to anyone. This will be our secret." Sarah rubbed her face against his back. "Just come here to keep me company from time to time. I

want US to be like what we used to be."

’Sarah..."

'I know what you want to say." Sarah interrupted her. "Why don't you think about what Dorothy did to you back then? Does she think she's on the moral high ground here? Your marriage exists for the sake of Bianca only. What kind of a marriage is that? You wouldn't spend the night with me if you have feelings for her. I know you."

Exposed, Nigel's expression darkened as he remained quiet.

Sarah got out of bed to stand in front of him, before helping to adjust his collar and button his shirt. "Just consider having fun every once in a while when you are lonely. Don't worry about me. I’m okay with this. I'm single anyway."

"I've done this." Nigel didn't know how he could ever make it up for Sarah and their daughter Anne.

'Don't pressure yourself. What's the point of thinking about that if I don't care? Anne won't blame you. She cares a lot about you!" Sarah said with a smile.

Nigel couldn't help but think that he, Sarah and Anne would have been one happy family if he hadn't broken up with Sarah; unfortunately, one couldn't go back in time and he couldn't even think of a way to handle the current situation as it was.

'Are you leaving today?" She asked. "Spend one more night with me, okay? One last night..."

Before he could respond, she pulled him into the bathroom to wash up.

Nigel stayed the night that day. He didn't want to admit it, but it was so relaxing to be with Sarah that he even slept better.

Everything seemed to have gone back in time, but eventually, he needed to leave.

In the morning of the third day, he left quietly while Sarah was sleeping, fearing that he might not be able to leave if he had stayed any longer.

During his flight, he thought back to all the things that happened between him and Sarah, his heart fluttering every time he remembered the first time they

met.

He couldn't hurt Sarah again when he had already done so once, so he decided to confess to Dorothy and file a divorce since Bianca was old enough to

marry and their divorce would not affect her any longer.

"What did you say?" Dorothy had welcomed her husband home cheerfully, but was surprised when she heard what he had to say after dinner.

"I went to Santa Nila to see Sarah." 1

Dorothy's nails dug into her palms as she tried her best to control her expression. "Are... are you joking? Why did you go there to see her?" Terrified that

Nigel would admit to cheating, she blurted out before he had the chance to explain, "she is alone there and her daughter can't visit her. Anne is your

daughter, so I guess it makes sense for you to go to her place." "Dorothy, let's get a divorce," Nigel said.

Chapter 485

Dorothy gaped and stood up abruptly, bumping into the chair. "What...What did you say? You are divorcing me? For Sarah's sake?"

'You know exactly why we divorced before. I've never explained to Bianca because I didn't want her to lose her respect for you, but I don't

want to wrong Sarah again. Bianca is all grown up now. She will understand."

'No! I won't divorce you!" Dorothy approached him to grab him by his hand. 'How can you divorce me? We've been alright after all these

years, and

now you are abandoning me because of Sarah? No way! I won't ever agree to this!”

'Dorothy, is this really the kind of marriage you want?"

It was not. Dorothy wanted her husband to love and care for her, but all Nigel had for his family was a sense of responsibility, not love, even

so, she did not want a divorce.

Dorothy sobbed and pleaded, "Nigel, don't leave me. You know how I've been like since we re-married. I can change if there's something wrong that I did. I will change. Just don't talk about divorcing me. Okay?"

Nigel moved away from her touch coldly, and Dorothy's heart sank.

"Our marriage exists only for Bianca's sake. It was never real. Also, I will leave you with everything I own," he said, before getting up to leave.

Dorothy was stunned and fell onto the ground, thinking to herself, 'Leaving me with everything... He is giving up everything to be with Sarah? No! I

don’t want that! Nigel is my husband, the father of my daughter. How can she take him from me?'

Sarah was merely someone who had once appeared in Nigel's life, since their paths missed one another, there was no way that they could cross again.

Dorothy loved money, but she hated losing more. She could not stand being the laughing stock while Sarah won.

Bianca was in her studio when she received a call from Dorothy. "What?

Dad is divorcing you?"

"Yeah. He brought it up as soon as he came back. I guess he slept with Sarah..." Dorothy wailed.

Bianca shoved the vase on her desk to the ground in rage. "As expected of the mother of Anne Vallois. They are both great at seducing men!"

Bianca, what should I do? I'm old now. What am I supposed to do with myself if he divorces me?"

Bianca stormed into Nigel's office without knocking, and his assistant took the hint to head out, closing the door behind him.

Nigel knew that Bianca was already aware of the situation and was prepared for anything she had to say.

’Mom said that you are divorcing her. Is that true?" She confronted him angrily. "For Sarah's sake? Do you have no regard for Mom's pride?"

"I'm not doing this for anyone. I just don't want to live like this anymore. Bianca, I re-married your mother back then to be a better father to

you. It's not like you don't know what our marriage is truly like."

'Yes, I know! You act distant and you two fight all the time because Mom's paranoid, but Dad, Mom cares about you. Who else would be

willing to be in a marriage like that if she didn't love you. If she can stand it, why can't you continue to be a good husband and a good father?

In the end, this is all about Sarah!"

'There are things that you don't know, Bianca."

"As if. It's about the time Mom betrayed you to run away with some rich guy, right? But she regretted it and has stayed home to take care of

her family since then. How is she worse than Sarah, a woman who slept around?"

Nigel sighed, "I've chosen to give everything up."
