Chapter 171: Making a Deal

Rose was still in shock when Evan entered the room. When their eyes met, she seemed to ask Evan to help her escape this awkward situation.

Evan calmly smiled as he walked into the room. "Rose, I’m sorry to make you wait...." Evan sat right beside Rose as he held her hand to calm her. "This old man is my grandpa. His name is Arthur Collins. Just call him Grandpa." Then Evan looked at his grandpa. "Grandpa, this is my fiance. Her name is Rose Wilson."

"E-Evan, you won’t believe it!" Rose gripped Evan’s hand tightly, feeling a thrill. "I met Grandpa Arthur in Vale City. Do you remember? Have I told you about my encounter with an old man in the park? Well, it’s him, your grandpa...." Rose’s eyes are beaming excitedly. "I still couldn’t believe it. How could God arrange our encounter like that? It felt like I was in a movie. It’s hard to believe!"

Evan almost choked when he heard her last two sentences. "Hmm, I remember." Of course, he remembered. It was he who took his Grandfather there. But Evan remains silent. He didn’t want to expose his Grandfather’s secrets.

Rose then looked at Arthur with her sparkling-looking eyes. She still couldn’t believe this coincidence. It was unbelievable. However, she realized that it must be God who arranged all of this. She can meet Evan’s grandpa in such circumstances.

"Grandpa Arthur, I’m so happy to meet you at Vale City. How’s your health? Everything is fine now?" Rose is concerned about Grandpa Arthur Alzheimer’s disease. What if the disease relapsed again? It would be troublesome if he met the wrong person who knew he was the owner of the Collins Group.

"Evan! You should pay more attention to your Grandfather. And can you ask someone to accompany him anywhere? Or make sure he uses a bracelet that contains his guardian contact. During my time at the park, I felt terrible to think Grandpa would never remember his family. I even intended to take him to the police station...." Rose looked at Evan with a serious look as she scolded him. It makes Evan rendered speechless.

Evan could only exchange glances with his Grandfather, and they seemed to communicate through their eyes.

His grandpa is really something. How could he not tell the truth to Rose that he never had Alzheimer’s disease!? Their meeting had been planned, not a coincidence. Until now, he was still confused why his Grandfather didn’t try to become an actor when his acting was this good!?

Later...

When Rose excused going to the powder room. Evan used this opportunity to make a deal with his Grandfather. He wanted to take advantage of this situation. How could he let this opportunity slip away?

"I’ll tell her..." Evan said with a calm but cunning smile adorning his face.

Arthur Collins ignored his grandson’s words, staring straight ahead at Rose, walking away towards the powder room. After the girl disappeared behind the door, he looked at his grandson.

"Don’t you dare!" Arthur Collins threatens his grandson. However, it only took him a few seconds to change his mind. Because he could see how serious and determined the look in his grandson’s eyes was. "Fine! Brat, tell me, what do you want?"

Evan stroked his brow gently while smiling happily.

How could this old man change his mind as fast as he breathes?

"Damn it! It was easy to get what I wanted just because Grandpa didn’t want his play to be exposed." Evan muttered in his heart.

"Well, I just need you to take care of my father. To tell you the truth, that man doesn’t like your future daughter-in-law. I was afraid he would do something to her or her mother."

"Leave it to me. I’ll throw that fool to our Africa branch if he messes up with Rose or her mother. Let him stay there for five years with his brainless woman...." Arthur shook his head. He hated his only son for bringing a stupid woman into his family. "Anything else?" Arthur Collins felt strange when his grandson didn’t request anything else.

"I don’t need anything else."

"Are you sure? Don’t you want Collins Group shares? Or a mansion? Island?" Arthur raised his thick eyebrows in confusion at his grandson’s attitude. Since he could make money, he never wanted to own the Collins Group. "If you want the Collins group, I can replace your father if you want!"

"No need, Grandpa! I’ve been busy with my company. And in the future, I’ll also be busy taking care of my wife...." Evan didn’t want to be busy managing multiple companies. Just one, Starlight Investment. If he had to take over Collins Group, he would have to sacrifice his time and can’t be with Rose. He doesn’t want to follow in his father’s footsteps, putting the company ahead of his family.

"Would you be able to make Rose happy if you only had one source of income? Women like it when their husbands are rich and powerful...." Arthur Collins smirks.

"Rose is different, Grandpa! You already knew the first time you met her, right!?" Evan soft chuckled as he knew his grandpa wanted to lure him to join Collins’s group. He will never do that. Not even if his life depends on it.

Evan deliberately doesn’t want to open up about his other assets. His family only knows that he only has Starlight Investment. They will never find out that Dream Inc is his company. He will never reveal this to them. Dream Inc is his last resort to face off with his father if his father continues to interfere with his relationship with Rose.

Arthur Collins took a deep sigh before he said, "I know! That’s why I immediately liked that little girl..." Arthur drinks his water to clear his throat.

"So, when will you guys get married? I hope you guys don’t delay too long. I can’t wait long. I’m old and want to see you get married and have kids." Arthur Collins asks again. He liked Rose and wouldn’t even mind if his grandson married her soon.

Evan wasn’t surprised anymore by his Grandfather’s question. Ever since he found out they were dating, his Grandfather often asked about their wedding plans. Frequently he also asked him to immediately formalize his relationship with Rose.

"No worries, Grandpa. We will register our marriage tomorrow morning."

Arthur Collins was stunned. "So fast!? Did her mother know you would register your marriage?"

"Yes. Aunt Molly Wilson already gave us her blessing...."

"How about the wedding ceremony?" Arthur raises his brow looking at Rose and Evan.

"For now, we didn’t have a plan. I will follow Rose’s will. If she wants a party, then I will make a grand wedding for her...." Evan said calmly. So far, he has never heard Rose say anything about the wedding ceremony. As a man, he didn’t really like events like that. But, he wanted to make a beautiful memory for his wife, and he would follow her wish.

"Yes. You need to ask your lady what kind of wedding she hopes for. She may have wanted a grand wedding like any other woman, right!?" Evan nods in agreement to his Grandfather.

Chapter 172: Promise Me!

"About your identity. Did you read the final draft of your interview? If you agree, your profile as an heir will be added to the Collins Group website. And your interview will be published in a business magazine." Arthur asked again.

Evan was in a difficult position. He had made a promise to his Grandfather to reveal his identity as Evan Collins once he finished college, in exchange for being allowed to study in East City. Even though he technically hasn’t graduated from B University yet, he has already passed the final exam. Evan knew he couldn’t delay any longer and had to agree to his grandpa’s wishes.

He had already seen the article that would publicly reveal his identity a few days ago, and he felt that everything had been done according to his request. They would only use his picture from when he was about to enter college and not include any personal information, like where he went to school or college. The article would only focus on his company, Starlight Investment, which he had built himself.

"Brat! You can’t turn it down...." Seeing his grandson silent as if thinking about something, Arthur Collins worried. "Grandpa has followed many of your wishes and had to disagree with your father. This time you must follow my wish!" Arthur’s voice sounded firm as his eyes sharply looked into his grandson’s eyes like a copy-paste of him.

Evan’s eyes narrowed as he looked at his grandfather, taking a deep breath before giving his answer. "You can release it, but hold off on the press conference until the day after tomorrow. I don’t want this news to overshadow tomorrow’s events, especially since I’m marrying Rose. I want to be able to enjoy my big day with her without any distractions," he said firmly.

He couldn’t bear the thought of the media frenzy and hype that would surely follow the news of his family identity being released to the public. After their wedding, he and Rose had planned to take a week-long honeymoon to celebrate their marriage, and Evan hoped that by the time they returned, the buzz surrounding his family would have died down.

Grandpa Collins nodded understandingly. "I see your point, Evan. I’ll make sure the press conference is held off until the day after tomorrow."

Evan let out a sigh of relief, grateful that his grandfather respected his wishes. "Thank you, Grandpa. I really appreciate it."

....

As Rose emerged from the powder room, their food order was ready. "Come on, Rose, sit next to me!" Grandpa Arthur Collins beckoned Rose to sit on his right side, with his grandson Evan seated to his left. But Evan’s expression darkened as he watched Rose take the seat opposite him.

Arthur noticed the tension and sought to diffuse it. "So, Rose, how’s business?" he asked, genuinely interested. He knew Rose had recently started her own investment company, and as a seasoned businessman himself, he respected her tenacity.

Rose smiled at the question, happy to talk about her passion. "It’s going really well, thank you for asking. We just secured a big new client, and I’m excited about the future."

"That’s fantastic news, little girl! I knew you had what it takes to make it in this industry." Arthur beamed at her with pride. "Tell me more about it..."

Evan couldn’t help but feel a twinge of jealousy at his grandfather’s attention towards Rose, but he pushed it aside. He knew that Grandpa Arthur had always been supportive of his business ventures, and he was glad to see that he felt the same way about Rose.

Rose spoke animatedly to Grandpa Arthur about her business ventures. "Things are going really well so far. We have a few new companies in development, and some are already running smoothly," she said, referring to Flash Company and King Game Company - the latter of which she had acquired from Oliver. They were currently in the process of expanding King Game Company to other cities like Fort City and Vale City. However, Rose was careful not to mention Rapid Realty. She didn’t want to reveal anything.

"Great! Little girl, you know you can always come to me for help. If you ever need investors or anything else, just let Grandpa know," Grandpa Arthur said with a smile, eager to offer his support.

Evan, who had been sulking since they sat down at the dining table, suddenly interjected. "Why should my wife need to ask for your help? She has me," he said firmly, unable to stand the idea of his grandfather trying to dominate Rose.

"Wifey, I’m your husband, so you better look for me if you need anything. No need to ask Grandpa for help!" Evan’s voice sounded sincere.

Grandpa Arthur looked surprised by Evan’s outburst but quickly composed himself. "Of course, I know Rose has you. But as someone who has been in business for many years, I have a lot of experience and connections that could be helpful to her. I’m just trying to be a supportive grandfather," he explained, his tone calm and conciliatory.

Evan felt a twinge of guilt for his harsh words, realizing that his grandfather was only trying to help Rose. "I know, Grandpa. I appreciate your offer. But Rose and I can handle things on our own," he said, his tone softer this time.

Rose looked between Evan and Grandpa Arthur, sensing the tension in the air. "Thank you, Grandpa, for your offer. I’ll definitely keep it in mind," she said diplomatically, trying to diffuse the situation.

Grandpa Arthur smiled at Rose, pleased with her response. "Of course, little girl. I’m always here to help if you need it."

Despite feeling warm with Grandpa Collins’ offer, Rose felt a surge of annoyance at Evan’s casual use of the word "wife" in front of his grandfather. How could he be so thoughtless? She glared at him for a few seconds, silently warning him not to do it again. Once she was sure he understood, she nodded at him and agreed to his request.

"Rose, promise me first, you will only ask me if you need anything..." Evan said, looking at her earnestly.

Rose’s hand holding the spoon stopped in mid-air as she looked at Evan with a faint smile. "I will, Evan," she said softly. Rose knew she couldn’t ask Grandpa Arthur for help. She felt frustrated with Evan’s demands but also knew that he cared for her deeply.

The corners of Evan’s lips lifted slightly as he saw the satisfied smile on Rose’s face. He continued eating his lunch, ignoring his grandfather’s soft chuckles.

The VIP room fell silent as the three of them ate their lunch lost in their own thoughts. The only sound was that of cutlery against plates. As they finished their meal, Arthur Collins wiped his mouth and glanced again at his grandson. An idea had appeared in his mind, and he spoke up.

After a few moments of silence, Arthur Collins glanced again at his grandson as he wiped his mouth and finished his lunch. Moments ago, an idea had appeared in his mind to ask Rose to visit Collins House.

"Evan, bring Rose to come to our dinner at the end of this month...." Arthur Collins’ words sounded like a decree, making Evan unable to refuse his Grandfather’s wishes. But he couldn’t just decide. He looked at Rose, who was still chewing her food, but he could see clearly that the look in her eyes was fluttering.

After their heartwarming meeting with Grandpa Collins, Evan, and Rose made their way back to their apartment. With a long day ahead of them tomorrow, they knew they had much to prepare.

Chapter 173: Warm-Up Before Wedding Night

At Rose and Evan’s apartment, the night before their wedding day.

"Do you need my help?"

Rose was surprised to hear Evan’s voice from behind. She looked back and saw Evan standing leaning against the walking-closet door. Looking at his messy hair, which is still slightly wet, makes her heart beat unusually. She never got tired of seeing him like this. She felt addicted because, at times like this, this man seemed more down to earth, more approachable.

Then her eyes looking slightly down at his white T-shirt made her imagination wild. With this thought in her head, something under her stomach started to stir, and she couldn’t stay calm. Hastily she averted her gaze again by trying to pack her clothes into her suitcase.

"No need. I can handle it..." said Rose, trying to hide her blushing face remembering when Evan told her about his plans tomorrow.

They will go to the registry office to register their marriage. Rose had known about registering their marriage. However, she had no idea they would leave for their honeymoon on the same day as their marriage registration. Until now, she was still nervous.

No wonder this man asked her to take a week off. He had planned all of this without saying anything to her. He deliberated to surprise her. And of course, she was stunned even though she had anticipated this would come, but she had not expected their honeymoon to be so soon.

Since then, Rose’s mind has been restless. Tomorrow she will officially become Evan’s wife. She still felt unreal with the love that had grown in her heart in just a few months; from her dark pain in her past life to the bliss she got now.

Rose still felt surreal with this brilliant yet soft-hearted man; Evan was the type of extraordinary man she had ever dreamed of. She was always amused by the protection and jealousy he showed her. His pure love for her made her heart flutter and plunged her into his lovely pool. This man taught her what love should be; Pure, Effortless, and Full of life. She is so grateful for the choice she made when God gave her a second chance. She felt lucky that tomorrow morning Evan would be her husband.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, Evan! I have finished packing." Rose looked up to see him walking closer. "How about you, have you finished packing? Do you need my help?" Her heart pounded when their eyes met.

"I’m done. My suitcase is in the guest room." Evan held her hand and pulled her to stand close to him. "Come, follow me to the study room. I still have something to do..."

Rose followed him into the study. While Evan was busy behind his laptop, she leaned her head on his shoulder, reading her cell phone. She was looking for news about Noah Stone. She needed to contact him immediately to discuss a business offer.

After finding the information she was looking for, she left Noah a text message to call her when he was back in this country.

After strolling Instagram, Rose felt tired. But when her eyes fell on Evan’s computer, she was stunned looking at Evan reading an article about himself.

She remembers, in the past, at times like this, Evan’s identity would stir this country. Almost all the media discuss his real identity. And of course, as a college friend with him, she was also surprised to know about his background.

So the time frame is still the same as in her past life. This makes Rose a little relieved after several occasions that happened to her changed, starting with the fate of Dustin, who died. Her mother had recovered from cancer. The news about her father shocked her; her father is still alive. While in her previous life, she never got any information about him from her mother. And the last one is about Rapid Realty which turned out to be not as simple as she thought.

"Is that a press release about your identity?" Rose turned to Evan, who was so serious about reading the article.

"Yes. The papers will be uploaded the day after tomorrow." Evan closed his laptop and placed it on the coffee table. He wrapped his arms in her slender waist. "Rose, you have to get ready, your husband will soon become a man who is hunted after by the media, and it is possible that you also will get disturbed. Our life will be different from now on. Are you ready?" For him, he was ready, but he was worried about Rose.

Rose was silent. She never thought about this, but Evan is right. All information about Evan will be eaten by journalists, especially gossip reporters. They’re definitely digging out who Evan Collins’ lover is.

Instantly Rose’s face hardened at the thought of being chased by paparazzi.

Evan gently rubs the top of her hair, "Wifey, don’t worry too much. I will take care of it."

Rose couldn’t help but stare at him in disbelief. How could he hide her identity? She was doubtful because almost everyone in their faculty knew they were dating.

"I promise you. I will protect your identity. No one will find out about you if you don’t want to...." Evan was amused, looking at how panicked his woman was now. He pulled her and pressed her into his embrace. "I think we should sleep now...." His whisper near her ears could awaken her desire.

"E-Evan... I’m heavy! Put me down!" Rose was shocked when Evan carried her to her bedroom. She put her arm around Evan’s neck and hid her face near his head.

"You are not! You’re as light as cotton...." A soft chuckle escaped from Evan’s mouth as he increased his pace. He felt he wanted to give this girl a warm-up before their wedding night.

"W-What are you going to do?" Rose’s heart starts to beat faster. Not only her, but she could feel how strong Evan’s heart was pounding. And she could also feel this man’s body heat rising. It made her blush when she realized what this man wanted to do.

Chapter 174: Honest

Rose was surprised when she opened her eyes. She met pairs of blue eyes staring at her. Instantly she pulled her blanket to hide her face. How could this man stare at her with his clear blue eyes? She almost drowned in his charm again.

"Good morning, wifey!" Where Evan pulls the blanket quickly. "Why hide your pretty face from me?" His big hand touches her neck and rubs her cheek with his thumb. She felt tickled as she giggled with her skin-to-skin contact early in the morning.

"M-morning Evan..." It was the first time Rose had woken up, and this man was still lying beside her. Usually, he is already gone every time she opens her eyes. It felt strange to her, getting their intimacy like this in the morning, but from today ahead, it seemed Rose would have to start getting used to it. She couldn’t avoid their intimacy like this forever, right?

"How was your sleep?"

"Never better! What time should we go?" Rose is shy again when she remembers she will officially become Ms. Collins, Evan’s wife, today.

"Eight o’clock..." Evan glanced at the bedside watch. "You should sleep more. I will make breakfast for us."

"No! Let me help you. How could I sleep? She may scold me if my mom knows I slave you in the kitchen." Rose immediately wakes up to follow Evan.

"Fine! But you only need to arrange the cutlery..." Rose was speechless with his determination to take her away from the kitchen.

Soon Rose finished preparing their cutlery as her eyes looked at how capable Evan prepared their breakfast. He seems so natural in her kitchen. After returning from East city, they had only been living together in this apartment. Evan came straight here and lived with her.

Will they also stay in this apartment after marriage? Not a bad idea. She likes this place because the size is not too big. Enough for both of them. And of course, what makes her happy is the distance to her office is so close. She didn’t need to get up so early to avoid traffic jams. And she can come to the office any time she wants.

"Evan, you should move your clothes to the walking closet. It’s bothersome if you have to go to your apartment to change."

"We will not stay here after returning from our honeymoon...." Evan smiles, looking at how shocked Rose is now.

"Where? I hope we didn’t move far from the office. I like this building because I can go to the office whenever possible. And, I like this place because of the park, also a lot of good food that I can try at Mogul Mall..." Just a few weeks living in this place already made her feel at home.

"Don’t worry, wifey! We’re not going anywhere. We just need to move to the top floor." Evan smiled as he served the breakfast he had just made; Smash avocado toast with milk for Rose and a coffee for himself.

"The Penthouse renovation above has been completed. So, we can immediately occupy the house after returning from our honeymoon...." Evan lovingly glanced when he said that. It makes Rose bury her head and start to eat her toast. "As for your stuff, someone will move it up, so you don’t have to bother..."

Rose listened to Evan’s explanation in silence, enjoying how good the toast Evan had made for her. Apart from the healthy dish he always makes for her, this toast taste is not inferior to the toast she’s ever eaten at a restaurant.

But, she noticed recently that this man had seldom given her coffee. He always gave her milk or juice. In fact, coffee is one of her favorite drinks.

Rose glanced at Evan, who was enjoying a hot cup of coffee, making her unable to resist asking.

"Evan, can I get some coffee too?"

"Not today! Yesterday, In the office, you drank too much coffee. Too much caffeine is not good for our health." He casually said, but in Rose’s ear, she heard a warning. Gosh!

Rose was speechless.

How did he know yesterday she drank so much coffee? Did Sam report to him? But Sam didn’t come to the office yesterday. Who? Oliver? How could that be? Impossible Oliver has a way of talking to Evan behind her back.

Did Evan hack her office CCTV? It’s impossible, right? This man must be busy taking care of office matters. He definitely won’t have time to do that. Rose shakes her head, trying to throw away her odd thoughts.

Then, she remembered the Rapid Realty issue. She must tell Evan about this because this problem will likely drag Evan. Those who have a grudge against Wilson Group will find out about her as a President of Wilson Group, and sooner or later, they will find out about her relationship with Evan.

"Evan, I have something to tell you..." She glanced at Evan, who sat so close to her. "It’s about my company..." Rose told him everything about Rapid Realty, including the possibility that someone would mess with her company. She also tells him about Silver Phoenix.

"Wifey, thank you for sharing this with me." Evan already knows about this, but still, he hopes Rose will be honest with him. Now, he’s glad this girl finally told him about the Rapid Realty case.

"I hope, in the future, if you reencounter this kind of problem... No! It’s not just a problem like this, but I want you to confide in me, whatever it is. Problem or no problem. I hope you find me and talk to me...." Evan continued.

"Hmm... I will. But, I have worries."

"What’s that?"

"I’m afraid the organization Oliver contacted can’t be trusted. What if they turn around and silence us too?"

Evan almost choked when he heard her words. How could he silence his wife? Of course not. But, right now, he can’t say anything to her about Silver Phoenix. He is just trying to open her mindset to trust Silver Phoenix.

Chapter 175: Wedding Day (1)

"Evan, have you ever heard of the Silver Phoenix?" Rose believes Evan must have heard of this organization.

He was silent for a moment before looking at Rose, "I did. That’s why I know they can be trusted."

For some reason, Rose’s heart is much calmer after hearing Evan’s words. If Evan believed the Silver Phoenix could be trusted, she had no reason to doubt them. No one can mess with the Wilson group! They will be fine.

Evan stroked Rose’s back to calm her down. "Alright! We should go now, or we will be late." He tried to distract her from asking again about the Silver Phoenix. His identity as the person behind the Silver Phoenix should not be known to anyone, including his wife.

When Rose reached the bedroom, she was surprised to see a knee-length white dress lying on the bed. She also saw a gray suit beside the dress. She stops her steps near the bed and looks at the man beside her.

She was speechless. Evan prepared her dress for today’s event. She thought she would just use a dress from a famous brand in her closet. But this man gave her a beautiful dress, she believed this dress was custom made because she didn’t see any brands on the clothes.

"When did you prepare this?" Rose held his hand.

"Before we went to Vale city, ten days ago. I asked Aunt Amanda to prepare it...."

Rose slightly chuckled. No wonder Amanda Spencer often called her for the last few days. She’s asking a few things about her preferences; Her favorite color, her favorite type of flower, and her favorite gems. Even her vacation place, Amanda also asked.

She wasn’t suspicious of Amanda at all because Amanda said she wanted to take a vacation trip together. That’s why she needed the information. This is what Amanda asked for as part of Evan’s plan.

Now, she suspected, their honeymoon destination was the place that she recommended to Amanda. She was thrilled and wanted to know where they were going.

"Do you like the dress?" Evan asks as he hugs Rose from behind.

"Hmm, I like it. Thank you, Evan. This is so pretty...."

"You will definitely look gorgeous in this dress." Evan kisses her neck gently and urges her to change.

After seeing Evan closing the bedroom door, Rose immediately prepared herself. She felt excited about her big day. In a hurry, she cleaned herself and wore her pretty dress.

She didn’t style her hair. She only let her long wavy hair down her back and put a hairpin that she found in the jewelry cabinet. She also chose a simple necklace with a small round pink diamond pendant, the same color as her hairpin and engagement ring.

As usual, Rose didn’t put any makeup on her face. She only used a tin lip-gloss on her lips to make her look fresher. Her facial skin is bright and smooth as a baby’s skin. She never uses foundation or shading to make her look pretty. Her mother once told her that she has natural beauty and doesn’t need any makeup. Something that Rose indeed agreed with her mother.

After finishing, Rose stands in front of the mirror to ensure her appearance attracts Evan. But after she saw her reflection in the mirror, suddenly her heart felt sad because she remembered her mother. It felt suffocating when she realized her mother was not around beside her on her special day.

She completely forgot to tell Evan to invite her mother. Though this is not their wedding ceremony, she wishes her mother would come to witness them and give them a blessing.

Rose decides to call her mother. She hopes her gloomy feeling will calm after hearing her mother’s soft voice.

"Morning, Rose!" Molly’s cheerful voice is heard at the other end.

"Mom, you sound cheerful today. Any good news from there?"

"What do you mean? I’m always this cheerful, right?"

"Yeah! I guess you are. Mom, I just wanted to let you know something. Today, I will register my marriage with Evan..." Rose suddenly felt sad because she wished her mother could join their wedding.

"Daughter, I’m so happy for you. Finally, you can marry the man you love." Molly’s sincere words made Rose unable to hold her tears.

"Mom! I really wish mom was here. I felt sad being married without you by my side!"

"Hey! Girl... don’t be sad. Even though I wasn’t there, I was still happy for you and Evan. Mom will always pray for both of you. And, we can celebrate later if mom moves there..."

"But..." Unable to string words, Rose fell silent for a moment. For some reason, she felt something stuck in her heart. Something that made her chest feel tight. She wanted her mother to witness her wedding.

But now it’s too late. It was impossible to ask her mother to fly here.

"Oh my goodness, Rose! Are you crying? Stop crying, or my son-in-law will see your ugly face!" Molly is trying to tease her daughter. It was a success. Later, she can hear her daughter laugh. It makes her relieved. "Good! Don’t be sad. On a day like this, you should be happy...."

"Hmm... I will! Mom, I will talk to you again later. Evan is calling me. I guess we’re going now."

"Alright! Congratulations... my pretty daughter. Mom, really happy for both of you." Molly’s soft voice saddened Rose even more. But she tried to hold back her tears, afraid her eyes would turn red.

"Thanks, mom. And, Mom, I hope you can move here in a week..." Rose wanted to meet her mother after she came back from her honeymoon.

"So soon? Daughter, no need to hurry... because I have to settle everything here before moving. I have to hand over my mini-mart first...."

Rose could only agree with her mother. After she ended the call, looking at the open door, she saw Evan walk toward her in his gray suit. For a moment, she was mesmerized by his good looks and grace.
