Chapter 281: Parent’s Wedding (2)

They headed to the Spencer family’s primary residence at ten in the morning for her parents’ wedding celebration.

Rose couldn’t hide her excitement. She was excited to talk to Evan about her parents along the way.

"After marriage, where will your parents live?"

"Father said they would live in North Hill. He built a house for mom. But, he also said they would stay in Little Heaven on weekends..."

Rose was surprised to learn that her father had been building a house for her mother. But because he couldn’t find her mother, the place that had been made for years was left empty. Only the housemaid took care of the house. Her father never lived there. But after her father found them, he asked people to renovate the building.

"Sounds good! Too bad, if the house in Little Heaven is left empty..." Evan said as he focused on driving his car again.

"Yes, you are right!"

The road they took to North Hill this morning was not very busy.

Their car cruised faster than usual. It only takes about 40 minutes of an hour’s drive from Little Heaven to North Hill via the freeway. And it wasn’t long before their car arrived at The North Hill, the Spencer family’s private estate.

Rose had often come to this area for shooting practice.

However, this was only the second time she had come to the Spencer family’s main house. The first time she came here, she had been invited to dinner by her grandfather, but that time, she had come alone, without her mother, who was still in a coma.

Returning to her father’s childhood home warms her heart. Moreover, this time she came here with her parents with her different status; she officially became a Spencer.

Rose was surprised when their car entered the courtyard of the mansion. She saw the rows of the mansion’s maids in their immaculate black and white suites. They seemed to be lining up to welcome them.

Among the people lining up to receive the guests, she also saw her father’s family; her grandfather, uncle Jayson with his wife and children. And her aunt Amanda too. All of Spencer’s attention was on Molly and Nicholas. They had completely forgotten about Rose.

Rose, who was walking far behind her parents, deliberately distanced herself. Because today is her parents’ special day, it’s only natural that they get all the attention.

"Mom looks so happy surrounded by her new family...." She mumbled. Evan, who was walking beside her, nodded.

"Not only your mother but old Spencer is also delighted. Since his wife’s death, he has been devastated, especially since his two children are not married, even though they are not young anymore. But everything changed when you and your mother came. This family grew...."

Rose was astonished to hear that.

"Speaking of my grandmother, I have absolutely no idea which family she is from. I’ve never heard about her..."

"That’s because, old Spencer, forbid them to talk about your grandma. Because old Spencer feels so sad whenever he hears someone talk about his late wife." Evan took her hand before he continued his words, "Well, your grandmother came from a family of scholars. I will let you know if your grandma’s family attends this party...."

"Yes, please let me know... It feels exciting to know them."

"Wife, you must remember. Spencer’s relationship with your grandmother’s family was not harmonious. So, you don’t need to be too familiar with them...."

"Huh! Why is that?" Rose asked, confused.

"Well, I don’t really know what the problem is. But, you can ask your father or grandfather if you have a chance."

Rose was surprised.

"Sister, Rose... Gosh! you look like a goddess...." Keira Spencer suddenly appeared beside Rose and wrapped her arms around her cousin.

A forced smile appeared on Rose’s lips as she saw Keira staring at her with her puppy eyes. This girl looks adorable and cheerful as usual. The A-line knee-length dress made her look like a living doll.

Seeing Keira this close made Rose realize they were wearing the same color dress, only the style was different. And not only were the two of them wearing the same color but all the women from the Spencer family and her mother-in-law, Doris, also wore ice blue.

And to Rose’s surprise, it turned out that Evan and the male family members also wore matching navy blue suits. She was sure this must be her aunt Amanda Spencer’s idea.

"Brother Evan! You have to smile. This is a happy occasion, not a funeral!" Keira Spencer also greeted Evan, who was walking behind them

Rose almost tripped over her own feet when she heard Keira’s witty words. She couldn’t help but smile at her annoyed husband.

"Hi Keira, you also look beautiful in your dress..." Rose smiled, seeing her short dark brown hair that was now wavy. This hairstyle suits her very well. She looks prettier.

"Hahaha, Sister Rose, don’t flatter me, okay!" Keira said while bringing Rose into the house, following the others. "Sis, why can’t I see brother Noah? He didn’t come?" Keira asked while looking at the group that came with Rose. She only saw Noah Stone’s father among them.

Rose smiled, seeing how disappointed this girl was because she didn’t see Noah among them, "Well, he didn’t come because he has urgent business." Rose said quietly. Keira was not the only one sad that Noah wasn’t coming to this party. Rose was also feeling the same.

"Even though I made myself this beautiful just to be able to meet him today..." The disappointment in Keira’s eyes was unmistakable.

"If you came to Little Heaven last night, you could meet him. Noah, come to the family dinner with his father..."

"WHAT!" Keira’s scream caught the attention of the people around them. In an instant, she covered her mouth and whispered to Rose, "Sister, there was a family dinner at your house last night?"

"Yeah... why didn’t you come?"

"Wait! Am I invited?" Keira asked, confused.

Chapter 282: Parent’s Wedding (3)

Not hearing her cousin’s answer, Keira continued her sentence.

"I mean, my mom and dad?" Last night her parents were at home. How could they not be there if they were invited to dinner at Aunty Molly’s house?

Rose was confused. Did she misspeak? Was last night just her family and Collins gathering? But why was Aunt Amanda there last night?

"Sis, who’s coming for dinner?"

Rose told Keira who was present but when she saw Keira’s face suddenly turned gloomy made Rose shut her mouth tightly. She had to stop talking before ruining Keira’s mood. She quickly turned her gaze to the back garden of the mansion.

She was stunned to see the area where a small wedding ceremony would be held in the open space under a shady tree near the blue lake.

The area is transformed with a simple but elegant decoration. There are two long dining tables with white and gold combination tablecloths. Rose’s mother’s favorite flower was in the center of the table, lined with gold candles and fresh white and pink carnations. Around fifty gold velvet chairs lined neatly around the long dining table. Then at the end of the table near the lake, there is a small stage decorated beautifully.

Rose could see some familiar faces around the area. Some chatted while sitting at the dining table. And some are still standing while enjoying wine and chatting by the lake.

To her surprise, she saw several military leaders which she used to see on the news. She believed they must be close friends of her grandfather.

She walked over to the dining table and saw that there was a name on each chair. When she found her name, she immediately sat down. But, the moment she wanted to call out to her husband, her body froze. She saw Evan chatting with the President of this country.

Gosh!

How magnificent was her parents’ wedding that so many influential people of this country were present at this exclusive and invitation-only party?

Her heart calmed a little when she heard classical music from the piano played by the man in the blue navy suit. She saw the man and was surprised because she had recognized him. That’s Sean Spencer, her cousin.

She couldn’t believe that a man as rigid as Sean could play the piano so well. She is fascinated.

"Kei, brother Sean, plays the piano really well, you know...."

"Well, to be honest, I’m better than him..." Keira said with a proud smile, making Rose chuckle. "Sister Rose, can you play the piano too?"

"Yes, I believe so! But maybe not as good as you..."

"Wow! Next time, we have to play together..." Keira’s eyes sparkled at her cousin. Then she remembered something. "Sis, I have to go in first. I’ll be right back!" Rose nodded. She saw Keira walking towards the mansion.

At the same time, Evan sat down beside his wife.

"See something interesting?"

Rose was surprised to hear Evan’s voice. In a hurry, she turned and saw Evan’s face so close to her. She smiled, happy that her husband was finally by her side again after he had been busy greeting the high-level leaders.

"Yeah. I was looking at Kiera. The girl turned out to be a huge fan of Brother Noah. She was protesting why she wasn’t invited to dinner last night..." Rose casually said. At the same time, her eyes caught Dream Inc CEO Marvin Sanders sitting at the nearby table chatting with Evan’s father. Rose was suddenly amused, thinking that Evan’s father didn’t know that Dream Inc was his son’s company.

"Oh, don’t mind her. She was just a little girl. Her mind was still unstable. She spent a lot of time and money following her idol. I don’t understand why my aunt let her daughter be like that, chasing after her idol!?"

Evan then took Rose’s hand. He held her tightly. "Wife, I heard you’re considering investing in her fashion business?"

"Hmm... but I haven’t had a chance to talk to Oliver yet. I will start looking at her proposals once this is settled."

"Make sure her proposal is worth it with your company, and you must make sure she’s serious. Don’t waste your money and time investing in that spoiled little girl...."

"Hahaha, Don’t worry, husband. Even though she is my sister, I still act professionally in business matters."

"My beautiful wife is brilliant. I believe your company will grow faster...."

"Of course!!" Rose smiled as she lifted her chin slightly, feeling proud.

Later...

Evan remembered their plan to return to East City for the graduation ceremony.

"Wife, don’t forget we have to go to the East city this weekend, make sure you tell your parents. They have to attend your graduation."

"Oh my God! I completely forgot..."

Rose will make sure her parents come. It was the first time her father would witness her graduation after so many years, only her mother could come.

"I’ll tell my mom and dad. I hope they can come to see me graduate." Rose said happily.

"Surely they will..."

"How about you? Did you invite your mother and father too?"

"No! Having you by my side is enough. I don’t need anyone else..."

Rose rolled her eyes, hearing his flattery words. Gosh!

"Hubby, don’t say that. If you don’t want your father to come, tell your mother. Mother is so lonely, you should pay more attention to her..." Rose whispered in his ear when she saw her mother-in-law sitting across from them.

Evan was taken aback by his wife’s words. He smiled as he looked into her worried eyes. Then slowly, he turned his gaze to his mother.

"Mother! I’m graduating this weekend from University B. If you’d like to attend the ceremony, let me know. So I can arrange your invitation."

Doris was surprised to hear that. Without thinking, she agreed to come before this young man changed his mind.

This was a rare opportunity for her son to invite her.

"Son, I will come!" said Doris quickly.

Chapter 283: Parent’s Wedding (4)

At the same time, on the second floor of the mansion. Molly is alone and looks tense in a room beautifully decorated with her favorite carnations.

Feeling too old to be a bride, Molly has asked Amanda to make her a simple wedding dress without too many accessories and not anywhere near grandiose. She wanted to look simple and elegant. That’s it.

Molly couldn’t sit still.

Several times she checked her appearance in the mirror. Worried, the simple white A-line wedding dress that wrapped her body was not neat. Her eyes filled with tears when she saw her appearance in this sacred gown. She was moved; finally, she had the opportunity to wear this beautiful dress after a long time. It took her forty-five years to become a bride.

It was as if someone threw a rock into a calm lake, causing ripples. That was how she felt every time she saw her reflection in the mirror.

Slowly she touched her short hair and left it as it was. She only pinned a diamond hair clip that made her hair look different.

"You look beautiful, Molly. You have to smile! Promise me no tears today..." Molly tried to comfort herself when she saw her reflection in the mirror; an awkward smile appeared on her nervous face.

After a few seconds of staring at herself in the mirror, she slowly walked towards the window when faintly she heard a beautiful melody from outside.

Molly opened the curtains slightly to peek into the backyard. From where she stood, she could see the beautiful backyard decorated with her favorite flowers and white and gold ornaments. It looks simple but gorgeous, even with gold ornaments. She loves how Amanda can manage simplicity without making it dull or excessively grand.

However, when she saw many people in the area, the nervousness that had faded away slowly returned.

"Why are so many people present?" She murmurs.

Molly couldn’t believe what she was seeing. She tried to count but lost interest as she counted over forty neatly arranged chairs.

"Oh my God! Why did Nick invite so many people?"

Nick once told her that only their immediate family and close friends were at their wedding. But, looking from a distance, she knew who was present below. Some of the figures that Molly often sees on TV were present at her wedding. Of course, she was getting nervous. Moreover, she married when she was not young anymore.

Just before she was about to close the curtains, she saw her daughter sitting with her son-in-law beside her. She chuckled slightly.

"Naugty girl! Why didn’t she come here?"

Molly really needed her daughter right now. She will need her little girl to calm her nerves. She wanted to call her but didn’t know where her cell phone was. Looks like she forgot to bring it.

She felt lonely in this empty room, waiting for Nick to come, but he still hadn’t appeared after ten minutes of leaving her alone in this room. She took a deep breath as she walked back to the sofa.

It wasn’t long before she heard footsteps approaching. Wondering who would enter the room, she stared at the tightly closed door.

When the door opened, she was surprised to see Nick standing at the door. He looks very handsome in his black tuxedo that wraps his tall body perfectly. His dark blond hair was neatly combed differently from what she was used to seeing in the hospital.

At this moment, Molly’s heart couldn’t rest easy seeing how handsome Nick was. She tried to avert her gaze to make her heart feel more at ease, but his piercing eyes didn’t seem to give her the chance to do so. She was hypnotized. Can’t move at all. She couldn’t even glance anywhere else.

Her heart started beating fast as they looked at each other for a moment without saying anything. But, only a few seconds passed, as if someone had turned off the air conditioner... she felt her whole body heat up.

How could this man become more handsome every day she saw him?

Molly’s heart started pounding, and she could not say anything to him. She smiled at him, too embarrassed to honestly tell him; that he was very handsome and afraid that someone would steal him from her.

"Are you bored here alone? Do you want me to call our daughter to accompany you?"

Nicholas smiled happily, seeing his bride looking so elegant in her wedding dress. He slowly entered the room and joined her, sitting on the sofa.

"That little girl completely forgot about me. How could she go straight to the wedding venue?" Molly chuckled. "What time does the wedding start?"

"My Love, we will start when you are ready..."

Molly was taken aback when she heard the way Nick called her. Sounds very sexy. For a moment, she tried to calm her heart which began to beat faster. Again.

"N-Nick, I’m ready..."

"I can see it. You seem impatient to get started..." Nick smiled, trying to calm her down. But Nick’s efforts did not make Molly calmer. Instead, Molly’s face turned tense as she remembered who would take her to walk to the aisle. She doesn’t have a father.

"Nick, who will accompany me to walk to the aisle?" Molly asks. Last night, she even planned on walking with her daughter because there was no way she could walk with Nick’s dad, right!?

Nicholas took his wife’s hand. How surprised he was when he felt her palm freeze. Apparently, his wife was very nervous.

"Molly, we’re officially married, so don’t worry, it’s just a family celebration. Everyone that presents here is my family and close friends, so you don’t have to be nervous. We just need to exchange vows, then say hello to our parents. After that, we will have lunch with all of them...."

Hearing her husband’s words made Molly’s heart slightly relieved. However, she couldn’t stop her mind from thinking about things she shouldn’t. And that made her even more nervous.

Chapter 284: Parent’s Wedding (5)

Not hearing his wife say anything, Nicholas continued, "So, My Love, I’ll take your hand to walk down the aisle. I’ll never let you go..." Nicholas’s loving gaze and his honey-sweet words managed to melt her heart. "And, could you please try to relax, huh!?"

Molly avoided his gaze as she saw their hands intertwined in her lap. Her heart is still pounding.

"Nick, I tried, but it’s hard..." Molly said quietly, feeling helpless.

She lifted her head again to look into Nick’s eyes, "Do I need to take a calming pill? So that I can relax?"

"My Love!" His voice sounded serious. "No, don’t use that kind of medicine. It is not good for your body. Don’t feel pressured. I’m here... I will make sure you will be alright!" A charming smile spread across his lips.

Molly saw Nick’s face approach hers. Her heart raced. She could sense that this man would do something they shouldn’t be doing now, or her clothes would be torn. Molly pulled her head away from him, but his hands were too fast to hold her neck. And his lips kissed her gently, she felt her blood rushing. And suddenly her body felt warm.

She kissed him back.

"I love you so much, Molly Wilson..." His face was still close to hers. So close that she could feel his warm breath brushing against her face.

Molly couldn’t help but smile sweetly, hearing his endless confession.

"Oh my!! Second brother, can you hold back!? Please, please, show some mercy to those of us who are single!?" Amanda felt jealous when she saw her brother kissing his wife as she entered the room.

Molly instantly froze when she heard Amanda’s voice near the door. She was shocked. She pushed Nick away and turned her gaze to Amanda.

How embarrassed she was to be caught red-handed by her sister-in-law.

When Molly was embarrassed. Nicholas was feeling annoyed. "Amanda Spencer! Did you forget how to knock on the door!? Why did you enter without permission?" His voice was low but cold enough to make the room feel like a fridge. He stood from his seat and glared at his sister. He felt annoyed when someone interrupted him from kissing his beloved wife.

Amanda was speechless. How could she knock when the bedroom door was wide open?

"Uhm, bro, we’re about to start the wedding...." Amanda said while ignoring her brother’s deadly stare. She quickly took Molly’s hand as a shield. "Sister Molly, you look absolutely stunning! Wow..." Amanda said in a shrill voice. She’s breaking the awkwardness that fills the room. "Brother, come on. The guests are waiting..."

"Oh my, don’t praise me, sister Amanda. You know I can fly way too high if you praise me too much..." Molly smiled as she followed Amanda out of the room.

"Hahaha, of course, I’m not praising too much. But, it’s a fact; you really are beautiful, sis. No wonder my brother was willing to wait for you until now...."

Nicholas Spencer’s mouth twitched when he heard his sister flatter his wife. And when his sister snatched his wife, it annoyed him even more. Damn! How could this girl have the guts to separate him from his newlywed wife!?

With quick steps, Nicholas walked toward his wife and sister. He stopped right before them, making Molly and Amanda stop suddenly.

They were both shocked.

"Huh! Brother?" Amanda frowned at how dark her brother’s face was now.

Is he still mad about the kiss? No! Right!?

Someone must have pissed him off. And Amanda undoubtedly knows it’s not her!

"Wife took my hand!" Nicholas Spencer offered Molly his hand. His eyes were only on Molly, avoiding his sister’s curious gaze.

Molly was taken aback hearing his words. She tried to read his mood, but she failed. But for sure, his face looked angry. Without waiting, she slowly raised her hand and held his hand firmly.

Amanda was utterly speechless.

Her brother is so mean! How could he insult her with their PDA so many times? If she continues to witness their sweet romance, there is a chance that she will be admitted to the Emergency Room.

For a moment, Amanda Spencer stood there staring at her brother and sister-in-law walking away from her. They walked hand in hand, making her fragile heart slightly hurt; she suddenly felt jealous of them. She wanted a man who could treat and love her gently without seeing her last name. But it is challenging to find such a man.

Men out there are afraid to approach her when they know her last name. And several times, the man her father introduced to her was not sincere to her; there was another purpose for their desire to be her husband.

As a hardworking and independent woman, Amanda doesn’t think much of romance in her life. Because all this time, she saw her second brother was not married yet. She always broke the pressure from her father for that reason.

But now, when her second brother has found his soulmate. She suddenly felt alert and her heart, felt greedy, wanting to feel what her brother felt; to love and be loved. She hopes to fall in love again with the man she dreams of.

Amanda closed her eyes slowly as she took a deep breath before praying in her heart,

"Dear God, I hope you send me a charming prince. Someone who can accept me as I am without worrying about my last name. I can’t stay single forever, can I!? So, God, please just do this once. Please grant my prayer. If you grant it, I promise you... I will become a good person for the rest of my life."

Amanda slowly opened her eyes. At that exact same moment, something that Amanda never expected happened. A man in a gray suit came out of the room at the end of the corridor.

Amanda froze.

"Oh-my-God! Thank you! For answering my prayers so quickly...." Her smile widened as she walked gracefully to Jamie Stone, her prince charming.

Chapter 285: Parent’s Wedding (6)

Rose saw her father and mother walking down the aisle. For some reason, her chest felt tight, too emotional to see the two people she loved finally holding hands on the aisle to exchange their wedding vows. Rose was very touched. She didn’t notice her eyes starting to blur from holding back the tears while her hand gripped Evan’s hand tightly.

When Rose heard her parents exchange wedding vows and say her name, she couldn’t hold back her tears. Silently she cried because she was too happy for her mother and father.

Before long, Rose heard applause from all the guests and families who had filled the long dining table as the bride and groom kissed.

And some people shouted cheers for them,

"Congratulations, Second Brother..." Jayson shouted, clapping his hands.

"Congratulations, Uncle Nick, I’m feeling jealous..." Sean Spencer couldn’t help but follow his father’s cheers for his uncle.

"Brother Nick, I can’t believe you finally married your first love... I’m proud of you, bro!" Amanda, sitting next to Jamie Stone, also shouted with joy. But not so with Jamie, a forced smile framed his face that looked calm, but his heart wasn’t.

Rose couldn’t help but smile through her tears. Feel the joy of the moment. But when Evan’s hand touched her nape, she was surprised. She slowly turns her gaze to him and meets his shining blue eyes. "I love you..." she saw Evan saying the sacred words without making a sound, her tears slowly falling.

Evan smiles, seeing her cry. He immediately gave her a handkerchief. "You have to stop crying, wife. Or others will think you disapprove of your mother and father’s marriage..." he whispered.

Rose immediately took the blue handkerchief from Evan’s hand and wiped the traces of her tears.

What her husband said was true. Others might think she was sad to let go of her mother. Though she is highly joyful because her mother is now married to the only man she has ever loved in her life.

After a while, the wedding ceremony finally ended.

All family and friends enjoyed a warm and intimate lunch with joy.

The sacred event attended only by those closest to Nicholas Spencer and Molly Wilson ended after lunch.

One by one, the guests left the Spencer residence. What remains is only the most immediate family who is now gathered in the family room.

Meanwhile, Rose and her parents were on the second floor, in the bridal chamber. The three of them sit on the sofa.

Rose saw her parents had changed into casual clothes. Her eyes tore up when she saw the two people she loved so much sitting next to each other, and how they looked at each other, filled with love and affection.

No wonder God reunited her father and mother after so long apart because they looked so perfect.

"Mom, Dad, congratulations. I feel happy for both of you!" Rose couldn’t help but congratulate her parents again.

"Thank you, daughter...." They said,

"Mom, I hope you can have another child. I will be happy if you give me a younger brother..."

Suddenly there was a loud coughing sound in the room. Molly almost choked at her daughter’s words. While Nicholas was busy looking for water to give to Molly.

Rose laughed, seeing her parents looking awkward. "Hahaha, why do you guys look shocked?"

"Naughty little girl, you think I’m young? How can I get pregnant again?" Molly scolded her daughter after she finished the water her husband gave her.

"Wait! My beautiful mommy... who says you’re old enough to get pregnant? You’re still young, mom. Many women out there are still pregnant, even in their mid-forties. Mom, even though you’re in your forties, you still look like you’re in your thirties..." Rose couldn’t help but laugh when she saw her mother glaring at her.

Nicholas fell silent as his wife and daughter exchanged words. But a second later, the corners of his lips lifted slightly into a small smile at the idea of having another child from his beloved woman.

Molly was speechless. How could this little girl talk about pregnancy the first time they sat down as a family? She couldn’t believe this girl was trying to embarrass her.

"Little princess, your imagination is indeed rich...." Molly chuckled as she shook her head.

"Hahaha, Mom, my father wants to have another child with you." Rose continued to tease her mother, then she turned her gaze to look at her father, "Dad, you want another child, don’t you?"

Nicholas Spencer gulped silently before answering his daughter, "To me, I’m already grateful to have you. And, it seems, right now, I don’t want to share your mother’s love with other children. But, again, it’s up to your mother. If she wants another child, so do I."

Sharing his wife’s love and affection with his daughter was quite tricky for Nick. If there were other creatures among them? It would be complicated for him to accept. Maybe not now. Wait until a few years after they get married.

Rose was surprised at her father’s words. She was happy because her father was wise.

Molly’s eyes fell on her daughter, lost in her own thoughts. After a long silence, she said, "I don’t want to have any more children. I just want you, Rose!" She said softly.

Considering how difficult it was to raise her daughter alone, Molly didn’t want to have any more children. She wants to spend the rest of her life with just her husband and daughter.

"My beautiful mother still deserves to have another child..." Rose mumbled, but her mother heard it. And, instantly Rose regretted talking about pregnancy.

"I’d better take care of your child. So, young lady... stop thinking about your mother and father. You have to think about yourself. When will you give me a cute little baby? Why do you want to delay it?" A satisfied smile crossed Molly’s face. Finally, she could ask about this one after several times she failed to get an answer from this girl.
