Ch. 276..280: Rebirth_ Dancing In My Destiny Chapter 276-280
Chapter 276: Lively Dinner
Molly Wilson had only told Jamie Stone about her wedding day tomorrow. Still, she had utterly forgotten to inform him about this dinner.
"Rose, did you invite your uncle and brother?" Molly asked while looking at her daughter.
"No, mom! I thought you invited them..." Rose was confused too. If not her and her mother, then who? Evan!? Impossible, right!? She knew her husband wasn’t close to Uncle Jamie and Noah.
Molly slowly shook her head, and a faint smile appeared on her face when she saw Nick standing beside her. She was touched when this man invited her best friend Jamie to their first family dinner. Her husband was too kind to consider Jamie and Noah as members of her family.
She took Nick’s hand and stood beside him, then leaned closer to his head. "Thanks, Nick! You didn’t forget to invite them..." Molly whispers to express how happy she is now.
Nicholas didn’t answer her. He just gently patted Molly’s hand, which was in his arm.
"Jamie, Noah... I’m glad you two could come." Molly greeted them with a warm smile. She also introduces Jamie and Noah to the others; She tells them that the Stone was her close family even though they didn’t have the same blood flow as her.
This time, no one remembers to start dinner.
While her parents were chatting with Uncle Jamie, Rose walked over to Noah, who looked awkward in the room. He looked tired, but his star aura was still there. "Brother! you finally have time, huh!" Rose punches his shoulder so hard to make Noah laugh slightly.
Rose felt annoyed because it was so difficult to meet this man. He never came back to the capital. He said he was still in another city every time she called him. She even suspected that Brother Noah seemed to be avoiding her.
"Hahaha, sorry little sister, I’ve been utterly preoccupied with my work lately. I’m preparing my new album. You know, when I make music, right? I only want to focus and not to meet or speak to anyone else... so I hope you can accept my apology." Noah whispered to Rose. Then his eyes caught Amanda Spencer, his big boss.
Since joining S99 Entertainment, Noah rarely sees Amanda Spencer, only a few times at annual events. But even then, he just exchanged greetings with her. Never had a chat with her as she was very high up in the corporate chain. Not just anyone can get close to her.
But why is she here?
What is Rose’s relationship with Amanda Spencer?
Noah was deep in thought, trying to figure it out, but he saw Amanda approaching them before he could figure it out. He froze.
"Hi, Noah Stone! I can’t believe you’ve known my niece since she was a child..." Amanda stood in front of Rose and Noah.
Noah is surprised to hear Amanda Spencer calling Rose, ’niece.’ So, Rose’s father is the son of Edward Spencer? This confused him.
"M-Ms. Spencer..." Noah paused when he saw Amanda Spencer asking him to stop.
"Noah, you can call me aunty! You are my little niece’s brother. But, in public, call me like before..."
"Y-Yes, Aunt Amanda. As you wish."
"Fantastic, then!" Amanda smiled at Noah and Rose.
Then Amanda saw her brother having a serious conversation with a man, which stunned her for a moment. The man looked attractive with his gray hair and well-shaven beard. His presence could make her heart feel like something foreign. She didn’t know what it was, but it felt like she wanted to get to know this man.
"Brother Nick..." Amanda Spencer slowly walked over to join them. She gave Jamie Stone a small smile before turning her gaze to his brother, "Can we have dinner now? My little niece is hungry..."
Rose was taken aback by her aunt’s words. Even though she was getting hungry at this time, she never revealed it to her aunt. But who knows, her creative aunt makes her an excuse. Gosh!
Nicholas and Molly immediately led everyone to the back garden by the pool. They will have dinner under the moonlight.
Rose looked surprised at the dinner table setting in the backyard. She saw a long table with white cloth decorated with candles and flowers in the center of the table. And around it, 20 golden chairs were facing each other, and hundreds of small round lamps were hanging above the table that looked like low-flying stars. The vibe around the dining table looks so beautiful. It feels romantic with the garden lights around the table and classical music that could be heard from hidden speakers.
Not far from the table, Rose could see several chefs. They were busy in the kitchen area. And several well-dressed servers in black and white uniforms seemed ready to serve them.
Rose was not involved in this dinner arrangement whatsoever. It’s because her father arranged everything. Seeing how beautiful the dinner arrangement was, Rose immediately marveled at her capable father. She never thought a man of his stature could handle something trivial like this with excellent results.
Soon all the family and friends were sitting in their seats, including their assistants, enjoying dinner at one table like a close family without any boundaries between families and friends.
Their casual chatter sounded cheerful, making the atmosphere of their dinner so lively and warm.
Sitting between her mother and husband, Rose was secretly touched by the ambiance. This was the first time she had been seated at the same table enjoying dinner with their immediate family and close friends.
She enjoyed the steak served by the waiter. But her beloved husband did not allow her to taste the wine despite all the excitement she felt, something that bothered her a little. Gosh! How dare he do that? She could only drink juice and water when she wanted to join the others celebrating tonight.
Was this man taking revenge on her because tonight she was going to sleep with her mother? Oh, dear...
Rose was utterly speechless.
Chapter 277: Staying Away
It wasn’t just Rose who was touched by the atmosphere of this dinner, but Molly too. She felt touched because she could finally feel this feeling after so many years. The happy feeling of being surrounded by the people she cares about.
All this time, Molly had only spent time with Rose, just the two of them. But now she has many new family and friends who sincerely love her and her daughter. It made her eyes tear up with emotion but only for a moment because her husband’s words immediately changed her mood. She felt thrilled.
"Molly, I’m going to sleep with you tonight..." Nicholas whispered teasingly.
Even though he had been married to Molly for more than a week, he couldn’t touch her. Because they were staying in the hospital. He was worried about hurting her because Molly was still recovering. However, tonight he already had plans to spend the wedding night he had been dreaming of for so long.
Molly leaned closer to her husband, "No, we can’t sleep together, Nick."
Nicholas was shocked. Confused by Molly’s refusal. "Why?"
"Your daughter asked me to sleep with her, and I agreed..." said Molly, amused to see her husband’s face slowly darken. There was disappointment in his eyes.
"Why did our daughter ask to sleep with you? Doesn’t she have a husband?" Nicholas was confused. He glanced at his daughter, who was enjoying her dinner.
Did she fight with her husband? Nicholas thought as he glared at Evan. He would scold this youngster if he dared to hurt his little daughter.
"Our daughter said she wanted to sleep with me before you took me to Spencer’s house..."
Molly smiled as she remembered her little daughter’s complaint that she was spending too much time with Nick. And she agrees with her daughter, and at the same time, she feels terrible about it.
"Don’t be upset, Nick!"
"I don’t." Nicholas Spencer said quietly, but Molly could sense he was annoyed.
"Ooh, I know you’re not upset, but you don’t want to ..." Molly smiled meaningfully at him. "Well, Nick, we still have plenty of time to sleep and spend our time together, but tonight let me sleep with her. I miss her too. Ever since my little daughter married, we never spent time together again...."
"Fine! But you have to promise me, tomorrow we have to spend our wedding night. Just the two of us!"
Molly’s face turned warm when her mind thought of something she shouldn’t have thought of at the moment. Instantly she felt her body warm up as if someone was turning on a nearby heater. She quickly grabbed the cold water on the table and drank it all to make her body temperature drop.
Nicholas silently laughed as he watched his wife’s cheeks turn red and her eyes tremble to avoid his gaze. He could guess what was on her mind at this moment. He placed his hand on her smooth and warm inner lap and stroked it gently, but a second later, he stopped when his eyes met her deadly gaze.
Not long after, dinner ended.
While the others continued to chat in the living room, Rose, Evan, Sam, and Gavin were still at the dining table. They casually chatted while enjoying dessert. But soon, Evan excused himself to pick up the important phone call.
Then, Rose saw Noah lying on a chaise near the pool. He seemed to be typing something on his cell phone.
She approached him.
"Brother Noah, may I sit here?" Rose pointed at the empty Chaise beside him. When she saw him nod, she immediately settled as she saw Noah sitting facing her.
"Thank you, brother..." Rose said softly. After her mother’s accident, she had no chance to meet Noah and thank him in person. Tonight, she didn’t want to lose this opportunity to thank him.
Noah Stone tucked his phone into his trouser pocket while looking at Rose with slightly raised eyebrows, confused. "What for?"
"For your help during my mother’s accident. I heard from Sam that night you left everything behind and helped your father take my mother to the capital. I...I can’t express my gratitude enough to you and Uncle Jamie." Rose’s voice trembled as she silently endured the sudden pain pressing against her chest.
"Little sister! There’s no need to feel that way. You and your mother are like family to me. So, as a family member, it’s my responsibility to help Aunt Molly when needed...."
Noah Stone smiled to make this little girl feel better, but deep down, he felt torn apart. It hurts so much when he says ’family.’ He thinks being a family to her is not enough. His greedy heart wants more. He wants this girl to be his lover. But, he was too late. Too late to realize he was in love with her when another man had already taken her heart. Now he had to be content with only being able to be an older brother to her, nothing more.
But he’s just a human with a weak heart. Until now, he still couldn’t accept this reality. That’s why he tried to avoid her as much as he could. Till today, his father called him and asked him to come here. He couldn’t avoid seeing her again because his father forced him to come.
"Yes, I know, Brother... But still, I feel grateful Uncle found mom. If only..." Rose suddenly choked. The image of her mother being stabbed by that crazy woman flashed through her mind. She felt a chill run through her body. Hastily, she shook her head, trying to shake off the horror thoughts.
"Little sister... stop thinking about it!" Noah ruffled the hair on top of her head. "It’s all over. Now, Aunt Molly is well, and the good news is that your father found you and Aunt Molly. And, also, you have a husband now . . ." Noah paused. Like someone ripped his heart apart. It felt excruciating. Slowly he turned his gaze towards the pool. He’s staying away from looking into her eyes, trying to hide the pain he was feeling.
Chapter 278: Become Brother
Rose took a deep breath and exhaled deeply to free her tight chest.
"Brother, you are right. I have to forget these painful memories...."
"Yes! You should have done that."
"Mm-mmm... I won’t go into that anymore because it would ruin this happy moment." Rose sandwiches her cheeks with her palms before continuing, "Brother Noah, I have a request I want to ask you..."
"What’s that?" Noah looked at her, curious and pleased that this girl hadn’t asked him for anything in a long time.
In Noah’s memory, when he was still living in the East City, Rose always came to him when she had problems. But since moving to the capital to pursue his music career, this girl never contacted him again. Living in different cities makes their close relationship distant.
"You know I have a business, a company, right?"
"Yes! My father told me. Your company name is Wilson Group, right?" Noah felt proud that this little girl had changed her path.
The last time he heard her dream was to pursue a career as a singer. Same with him. But in recent months, he learned that this girl had decided to stop pursuing her dream of becoming a singer and focus on doing business.
This surprised Noah. Why did she suddenly change? Was it because of the influence of her husband, Evan Collins?
"Yes, you’re right. Wilson Group is an investment company. And, I plan to ask you to be a Brand Ambassador for one of my companies. I really hope you agree with this proposal...."
Rose knew from Aunt Amanda that Brother Noah is always picky when accepting advertisements. But, she wanted to try and ensure that Brother Noah would consider her request.
He wouldn’t refuse, would he?
"I agree!" Noah’s Stone smiled. Whatever this little girl asked for, he would fulfill it for her. Even though she asked him to go to hell, he would do that as long as she’s happy.
"Oh, my Lord!" Rose gasped in surprise. She immediately grabbed Noah’s hand and held it tightly, "Brother Noah, thank you so much. You are the best big brother I ever had."
Noah’s heart skipped a beat, almost melting, when he felt her soft hand gripping his. He refrained from doing anything, trying to hear what she had to say.
"But Brother Noah, my company isn’t very well known. And you know, my company isn’t related to your passion, the music industry..." Rose was worried Noah would turn her down. "You’re still going to accept this offer?" She asked in a worried tone.
"I’ll do it as long as you pay me well..." He teased her.
"Ha ha ha! You mentioned the price. I’ll give you as much as you want, brother. Waaah! Thank you, brother. I can’t wait to work with you..." Then Rose told Noah an outline of the company.
"So Flash is your company?" asked Noah in surprise. During this time, he used the app to buy things online because he rarely left his apartment. He quite liked the app.
"Yes. Have you heard of it?"
"Would you believe it when I said I became a Flash user?"
Rose was taken aback.
"Well, I enjoy using this app. What a coincidence, you offered me to be BA Flash..." He said as he forced himself to smile after trying to contain his excitement that this girl was still holding his hand. This isn’t the first time they’ve held hands. But this was the first time he felt his body react. He felt hot. It’s a foreign feeling.
Damn! He really fell in love with her. How should he deal with her now?
When Noah was struggling with his heart, his cell phone vibrated. He immediately excused himself to Rose to pick up the important phone call. Noah lied to her because it was just a text message from his manager. He couldn’t stay close to Rose like now, or he wouldn’t have resisted the urge to pull her into his arms. He would likely cause an unwanted uproar if he did.
"Okay. Brother Noah, later... my friend Oliver will contact your manager. I hope our cooperation goes well."
"Sure! I’m looking forward to it..." Noah stood up and walked away from her, trying to calm his noisy heart and diverting his mind from hugging the girl. Several times he cursed his wicked thoughts.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the house, on the veranda overlooking the sea, Nicholas Spencer and Jamie Stone stood side by side with their faces gazing at the dark sea ahead.
"Jamie... Can I call you that?" Nicholas asked as he glanced at Jamie Stone; This man was several years younger than him, but his face looked older. Nicholas could see the wrinkles on Jamie’s forehead. He looked like he had a heavy burden to carry.
"Sure, brother Nicholas, I guess I can call you that too, right?"
"Just call me Nick..." A faint smile appeared from the corner of his lips. Then, he continued his sentence, "Jamie, I want to apologize for my words the first time we met at the hospital..." Nicholas felt like a jealous teenager when he introduced himself to this man. He shouldn’t have done it. He should have thanked the man who was always there for his family.
Jamie Stone was surprised by Nicholas Spencer’s sincerity.
"Bro Nick, you don’t need to apologize. There’s nothing wrong with what you said back then..." Jamie smiled, trying to reassure him.
"Thanks, Jamie! I’m glad to hear that." Nicholas paused for another breath. After a long pause, he continued, "And I want to say a huge thank you for what you did for my family. Molly and Rose told me a lot about you and your son Noah. My gratitude would not be enough to repay your kindness. So, please let me also offer my friendship and brotherhood."
Nicholas turned to look at Jamie and then said, "Jamie Stone, I would be pleased to become your brothers and best friends."
Jamie stone was taken back. He felt Nick was confessing his feelings to him!?
He felt goosebumps.
Was Bro Nick drunk?
Chapter 279: I Know How It Feels!
After looking closely into Nicholas’ eyes, Jamie could sense that this man wasn’t drunk or joking. He just wanted to express his gratitude.
No one would refuse to be Nicholas Spencer’s best friend, Including himself. Of course, he welcomed the offer.
Unable to have Molly’s heart, Jamie Stone remains grateful to be Molly’s best friend. And now, he has a new best friend, Nicholas Spencer. It was more than enough for him. He was in a good mood to accept this man’s offer.
"Brother Nick..." Nicholas and Jamie looked back together when they heard a female voice.
"Amanda! What’s wrong?" Nicholas said as he saw his sister standing not far from him.
When Amanda Spencer wanted to talk to Jamie Stone, she saw her brother talking to him for too long. She couldn’t wait any longer, so she decided to do something. She sold her sister-in-law to get her brother into the house.
"Brother, my sister-in-law is looking for you..." Amanda said, almost giggling, trying to hide her laughter for lying to her brother.
Nicholas Spencer immediately said goodbye to Jamie Stone and asked his sister to accompany Jamie to chat. His request was greeted with joy by Amanda. Now Amanda didn’t have to feel awkward about starting a conversation with Jamie Stone.
After taking a closer look at Jamie, Amanda felt like there was a magnet inside Jamie Stone that attracted her. She was curious and wanted to know why.
What made her want to chat and get to know him better!?
This feeling was something rare that happened to her. She had forgotten that she had ever felt anything like this when she saw Jamie Stone for the first time. Suddenly that strange feeling reappeared.
Amanda felt she had a crush on this man. Is this just a guess? Or is it not? She wanted to prove it.
"Hello, Brother Jamie," Amanda greeted him gently as she took a few steps toward him. Their eyes met, making her heart tremble slightly. "I’m Amanda Spencer, Rose aunty..." she continued, reaching out for a handshake.
When their hands touched, she could feel her heart beating fast.
She froze.
How could she fall in love with this man?
"Hi, Miss Amanda, I know you..." Jamie Stone smiled politely. "You are my son’s big boss..."
"Y-yes... Noah happens to be one of the talents in my company." Amanda Spencer said as she tried to calm her busy mind understanding what was happening to her now; How could she fall in love with this man who already had a son?
Jamie Stone smiled as he turned his gaze to the sea. It felt strange standing next to a beautiful woman beside him. And this gorgeous woman is not just anyone. She is the boss of his son. He couldn’t make a mistake, afraid to embarrass his son.
At this moment, Jamie Stone didn’t know what to say as his tongue suddenly went numb. He could only stand still, listening to Amanda Spencer talks about his son, Noah. Every now and then, Jamie stole glances at her. Somehow, her cheerful voice made him feel comfortable hearing her speak.
*****
Before ten o’clock, all the family and friends finally returned to their homes.
Now, Rose lay beside her mother. She feels sad because this might be the last time to sleep with her mother again. Tomorrow her mother will be living with her father.
Somehow she found it difficult to let go of her mother. It is difficult to share her mother with others, even though the other person is her own father. She still felt jealous.
Countless times Rose took a deep breath while hugging her mother from behind.
"Mom! Are you happy to finally marry your beloved Nick?"
"Father! From now on, you should get used to calling him, Father." Molly chuckled, "Of course I’m happy. But there are worries too. I’m afraid I won’t be a good wife to your father."
"Gosh, Mom! Do you mean not good in bed? Ouch! Mom, why are you pinching my hand?" Rose screamed in pain.
"Rose Spencer! I’m your mother, not your friend... don’t tease me like that, okay!?" Molly’s voice rose to a high note. But later, a faint smile appeared on her lips. "Well, if I wasn’t great in bed, you wouldn’t have been born, and your dad wouldn’t have waited for me till this long, right!?"
Rose was silent for a moment when she heard her mother angry. Hearing her mother’s words made Rose’s chest feel tight. The tension wasn’t because her mother scolded her. Not. However, she felt like she had just lost her best friend.
"Why are you silent, Rose?" After she didn’t hear her daughter saying anything, Molly turned her body to face her daughter. She worried her daughter would be upset because she yelled at her. "Why are you crying?" asked Molly, surprised to see her eyes turn slightly red.
"I’m not crying!" Rose tried to hold back her tears.
"Are you angry that I scolded you?" Molly felt sorry for hurting her daughter.
"No! Well, I just feel like I’m losing my best friend again... I’ve always thought of you as my mother and best friend; sometimes, I think of you as my... you know... my enemy." Rose chuckled before continuing, "Mom, now that you will share your attention and heart with dad, I felt slightly sad...."
"Silly girl!" Molly rubs her daughter’s nose. "You are my daughter, and Nick is my husband and your father. Obviously, how I care for you is different than how I care for him. And you must remember that I will never lessen my care and love for you. Well, my dear daughter, I know how you feel now..."
"I’m too selfish to have mom alone, but I can’t help it. We’ve spent a lot of time alone, and now dad is showing up! I feel jealous!" Rose wanted to say that, but she held it back. Afraid that her mother would scold her again. Gosh!
"No, mother! You don’t know how it feels...."
"Yeah, I know! I felt this way when you married Evan and moved to the capital..."
Rose was stunned.
Chapter 280: Parent’s Wedding (1)
"Hey, don’t cry." Molly smiled as she wiped her daughter’s tears. After some time, she continued her words, "Was I sad when I let you go with Evan? Yes, I was sad. But... I only felt that way for a moment because I realized I didn’t lose my daughter, but I got a son-in-law, Evan. And soon, I will also have a cute grandchild...."
Rose felt like something had hit her head, her sadness fading from her mind. She smiled between her tears when she saw her mother smiling lovingly at her. What her mother said was true. She didn’t lose her best friend, but now she has a new one, her father.
Even though it’s only been a few weeks, her father has already shown his role as the ideal father Rose always dreams of. He really protects her and loves her.
"So now, stop feeling jealous of your father!"
"How did you know I was jealous of dad?" Rose gasped.
"Of course, I know. Well, not only me but everyone knows..."
"Huh!? Does my father know too?"
"Yes, he knows. Well, actually, you’re not the only one who is often jealous. Your father sometimes gets jealous of you if I spend my time with you...." Molly laughed at the thought that she now had to deal with two jealous people in her life.
Rose couldn’t help but laugh when she found out her father was jealous of her. She found it funny. Is her father the same as her jealous husband!?
"Gosh! How could dad be jealous of me?"
"My daughter, you must remember. I’m still your best friend. If one day you need me, you can come to me anytime. Don’t ever think I will change my attitude towards you after marrying your father. That will never happen. You are my daughter. And Nick is my husband, your real father..."
"I know, Mother. I know..." Rose knew that it was just that sometimes her childish feelings surfaced.
"That’s good if you understand." Molly smiled as she caressed her daughter’s soft cheek, "Alright! Let’s sleep! We have a lot to do tomorrow." She said, then turned off the light.
Molly yawned, her eyes heavy, but her mind was still too busy thinking about her wedding day with Nick. But moments later, she opened her eyes again when she suddenly remembered the conversation with her daughter about pregnancy.
"Rose! Did you sleep?" Not hearing her daughter’s answer, Molly continued, "Earlier, my son-in-law said you were postponing having children. Whose idea was that?" She was curious, wondering if it was her daughter who wanted it. If so, she wants to know why.
Rose, who was half asleep, faintly heard her mother’s words. Instantly the drowsiness disappeared. But she didn’t want to talk about pregnancy. Not now. She was worried that her answer would upset her mother. She will wait until the wedding is over and will tell her everything.
Slowly Rose closed her eyes tightly again, pretending to sleep, avoiding her mother.
The Next Morning.
When Rose opened her eyes, she was surprised because she didn’t feel like she was in her mother’s room. Squinting, she looked at the white ceiling, no chandelier hanging above it.
"This is my room!" Rose quietly muttered. Then, she looked to the side of her bed and was surprised to see Evan sleeping right beside her with his half-naked body facing her.
How can she end up sleeping here? Didn’t she sleep with her mother last night?
Rose tries to regain her memory, but she fails. Her last memory was; that she avoided talking to her mother about her pregnancy.
This is weird!
Did she sleepwalk and move into her room because she missed her husband?
"Good morning, hubby..." Rose smiled as she watched Evan’s eyes slowly open. He looks very vulnerable and approachable when he wakes up like this. It was very different when he was dealing with his employees.
"This is not fair! Why do you still look handsome even though you just woke up now?" Rose continued her words as she buried her face in her hands.
Evan smiled at his adorable wife. He pulled her into his arms and pressed her into his body.
"Good morning, sweetheart!" His hoarse voice made Rose gulp. He sounded so sexy that it made her heart beat fast.
Rose froze in his arms, not daring to move, afraid this beast would wake up and devour her. This morning, they didn’t have time to have sex.
"Hubby, how can I sleep here?" Rose looked up to see his face.
"You won’t believe what happened last night."
"W-What happened?" Rose was curious, seeing Evan laughing.
"Well, your father called me after midnight. He asked me to move you ..."
Rose was astonished.
"I thought, dad, back to Spencer’s house? How could he still be in this house?" Rose was confused because last night, when the others said goodbye, her father also left the house.
"No. Your father was actually sleeping in the guest room downstairs. He asked me to move you when he found out you were asleep."
"Gosh! My dad can’t wait, huh!?" Rose chuckled, remembering her mother telling her that her father was often jealous of her, too, "Gee, looks like we don’t have to wait for him anymore to pick up mom. He’s already here..."
"No. I think your father was back at Spencer’s house early in the morning ..." Evan heard the car move before sunrise. He believed it must be his father-in-law sneaking up.
"That cunning old man! I didn’t expect him to be this smart, hahaha...."
"Wife! They’re newlyweds, so you have to be more sensitive. Don’t ever try to separate them..." Evan whispered in her ear, arousing Rose with his warm and minty fresh breath. She giggled when Evan’s hand started to touch her g-spot.
"Evan, stop! It’s almost seven in the morning. We have to hurry!" She pushed Evan and immediately got out of bed.
It feels weird attending her parents’ wedding, but Rose can’t hide how happy she is for them.
