Ch. 311..315: Rebirth_ Dancing In My Destiny Chapter 311-315

Chapter 311: Don’t Take Me Lightly

It wasn’t long before they all arrived at the exclusive training ground for Combat Shooting Drill. It is on the 6th floor underground.

Immediately leaving the elevator, Rose saw an enormous room with high ceilings. The lighting in the room was bright. It didn’t feel like they were several miles underground. However, the large room was empty, like a warehouse without a single item to be seen.

Then on the right side of the room, Rose saw the A-Section stair leading to a room with black glass walls. She could tell it was a control room like the one she’d seen at the training ground in this place she’d been visiting. And under the stairs were a few normal-sized doors.

On the left, Rose saw three sizable black steel doors. She frowned as several questions appeared in her mind; Shouldn’t they have gone to the simulation practice site as her husband said?

But why are they in this empty room? Did they come for a briefing before heading to the training ground?

While Rose was confused, not far from her, Sam and the others chatted.

"Guys, when the bet starts, please remember. Please don’t be too serious, or Big Boss Evan will get mad at both of you if you defeat his wife badly," Sam said sarcastically to Oscar and Gavin. They looked so eager to compete with his lady boss. He was stressed just thinking about it.

"Shit, Sam! We know. We’re not going to use all of our abilities..." Gavin replied.

"Hahaha, don’t worry, Sam. We know what we’re doing... We just want to see how good Lady Boss is. Is her ability the same as you said before, so we will have a tough time? Or are we going to take candy from a child? " Oscar jokingly said while patting Sam on the shoulder, trying to calm him down.

Rose, who could hear the three men’s conversation, almost choked. Gosh! Why were they so sure they could beat her so quickly?

She realized that she had never practiced CSD, but when Rose was in high school, she played this kind of game with Oliver in the arcade and was pretty good at it. She was always below Oliver, who was an expert in their town at the time. So, more or less, she knew what she had to do in the simulation. Kill as many as possible and dodge until the allotted time runs out.

"Gavin, Oscar, Listen... Don’t use half of your abilities. You guys have to show your best." Rose was standing behind the three men. She looked at them in turn as if sending a severe warning.

"L-Lady Boss... Y-You heard us?" Gavin said awkwardly.

"Of course, I heard you. Well, it wasn’t just me who heard it; everyone in this room heard it too." Rose saw her husband and Uncle Jimmy, who was looking at them. Making Oscar and Gavin even more awkward.

Rose secretly smiled, seeing the panic in these two men’s eyes.

"I will use all my abilities and experience. So don’t take me lightly. If you don’t use your best skills, you two will lose to a newbie like me..."

One of the reasons why Rose accepted this challenge was to gauge her abilities. If these two men weren’t doing the best they could, how would she know that she was really talented at shooting!?

Rose didn’t take long to chat with Gavin and the others. She immediately left them after saying what she wanted to say. She approached her husband, who was talking to Uncle Jimmy.

As soon as Jimmy saw Rose approaching, he immediately signaled someone to prepare the arena and summoned Old Master.

This is an exciting event and one that the Old Master won’t like to miss. Because if Young Miss could beat or at least match Gavin and Oscar’s scores, this was proof that Young Miss was indeed worthy of being the old master’s disciple.

Evan smiled, seeing his wife’s face looked calm. There was no anxiety or tension in her eyes. What she saw was confidence. But as a husband who doesn’t want to see his wife lose or get hurt, he desperately wants to ask her to cancel this shooting bet. He tried to take his wife’s place and destroy the two idiots. How could they challenge his wife to a combat shooting competition?

"My wife, are you sure you want to do it?" Evan wrapped his arm around Rose’s waist and pulled her between his arms. They looked at each other, making Rose feel embarrassed. Because she could feel many pairs of eyes staring at them.

"E-Evan, we are not alone in this place. Stop showing our affection to them..." Rose lightly pushed Evan. As soon as Evan released her, she continued to say, "Yeah. I can’t wait to get started. Can we start now?" She asked.

"Wait a minute, young miss. The simulation room is being prepared. Please follow me, let me explain to you what you have to do there..." Jimmy asked Rose to follow him into a room.

Seeing his wife following Jimmy, Evan could only take a deep breath at failing to stop his wife from competing with Gavin and Oscar.

He could understand why his wife wanted to measure her abilities. But, right now, he still feels worried. The reason is, while in the simulation room, they will use fake ammunition but it still feels torturous if it hits the body.

In addition, many factors can injure her even though she will later use a protector.

"Boss, will you still let Lady Boss enter this competition?" Sam, who had been nervous, tried to get Evan to stop Lady Boss.

Evan glanced at Sam, who was now standing beside him. His face looked just as worried as him.

"I’ve tried to stop her, Sam. But my wife is too confident to listen to my suggestion. Thanks to your training." Evan said calmly but with a sharp look at him. In that face, Sam could also see the worried look in Evan’s eyes when he saw Rose enter the room with Jimmy.

"Damn it, Oscar! I hope you will lose no matter how cunning you are..." Sam muttered, but Evan could hear him clearly.

Chapter 312: Old Spencer Was Shocked

Evan turned to look at Sam with narrow eyes. He was silent for a while, thinking about something, before finally asking, "Sam, with everything you have taught her, do you think my wife has a chance to win?"

He needs to confirm his doubts. He had never seen his wife shoot. But according to Sam, his wife is talented. Old Spencer also confirmed. That’s why the old man intended to recruit his wife to be trained as a sniper.

"Boss, do you want an honest or pleasing answer?" Sam answered, who was greeted with an annoyed look from Evan. Sam quickly replied, "Okay, okay. Boss, I think Lady Boss doesn’t have a chance. Not because she isn’t any good, but because Gavin and Oliver are too highly skilled to be defeated in the CSD arena."

Evan’s shoulders dropped at Sam’s honest answer. He already knew the answer, but he just wanted to make sure.

Meanwhile, in a large office, on the top floor. Old Spencer looked impatient for his granddaughter to come.

As soon as he heard a knock on the door, he sat up straight, staring at the door, so happy that his granddaughter had finally arrived. But when he saw a male staff member enter, disappointment was evident on his face.

Why hasn’t she come yet?

According to the information, he heard that his granddaughter was on her way here a few minutes ago.

After a brief greeting, the staff member immediately informed Old Spencer of the information that Chief Jimmy had given him.

Old Spencer was surprised to hear that his granddaughter had arrived long ago. But she went straight to the shooting range.

"So you mean they’re already at the shooting range?" Old Spenser asked, rising from his chair. He couldn’t wait to see his granddaughter compete. "Let’s go! I can’t wait to see my granddaughter defeat the challenger." He firmly believed that Rose could defeat anyone who fought her. Her talent was far above the average shooter he had seen training at this place.

Just as Old Spencer was about to head to the regular shooting range, the staff stopped him.

Old Spencer turned to look at the staff behind him and was surprised to see his face looked pale.

"What’s wrong? Why did you stop me?" he asked worriedly.

"Old Master, they will be competing in the 6th underground..." The staff stopped his words when he saw Old Spencer’s surprised expression.

"WHAT!" Worry overtook Old Spencer. "Has my granddaughter ever trained there before?"

He knew that his Granddaughter and Sam used to come to train here, but he couldn’t remember if they had ever trained in Combat Shooting Practice.

"Never, sir. This is the first time Young Miss will enter the CSD arena. And... she’ll compete against one of our top shooters..." The staff said worriedly.

"My Lord!! Who allowed her to enter this competition? And who is this top shooter that is against her?" Instantly Old Spencer’s heart sank. His granddaughter had never had combat training before.

How could she possibly get in there without training? He can’t believe what he hears now.

"If I heard correctly, Young Miss will have a match with Mr. Gavin Riddle, young master Evan’s assistant. And there’s one more person. He seems like a foreigner. I’ve never seen him come to this place before...."

"So she will compete against two shooters in an arena she has never trained before?!" Old Spencer was speechless. He stroked his chin as he thought of something. "Is my grandson-in-law also coming?" asked old Spencer again. From his tone, the old man seems to be thinking of scolding Evan.

If Gavin was here, then Evan would be with them, right?

How could the man let his wife enter the competition without any training in CSD beforehand? Had that stupid Evan Collins lost his brain somewhere else?

Old Spencer cleared his throat before thundering, "Lead the way!" Old Spencer said in a high voice, feeling annoyed with Evan. He wanted to meet Evan immediately and scold him. Once they got into the elevator, he continued his question, "Have they started yet?"

"When I went up, they were already in the arena. But it seems the Young Miss is still being briefed by Chief Jimmy."

Old Spencer nodded in agreement. His granddaughter had to be told what was going to happen there. Otherwise, she could get hurt.

But, he wouldn’t let this happen. He had to stop this shooting competition. If that stupid Gavin Riddle wanted to challenge his granddaughter, he would have to wait until his granddaughter completed her training for the arena.

But it seemed that Old Spencer had no chance to stop the competition since Rose and the others had already entered the arena by then. And when a player enters the area, it cannot be canceled until the allotted time is up.

And the steel door is the only access to the arena. It can’t be opened from the outside unless it has to damage the whole area and affect the floor’s security system. In short, the forced cancellation would risk the lives of the people in the arena.

When Old Spencer arrived at the control room, he immediately scolded Evan for letting his granddaughter enter the CSD arena without training first. But Evan’s answer surprised him.

"I’ve been trying to stop her, granddad..." Evan paused to take a deep breath. Then he looked at his grandfather-in-law with a worried look, "But you want to know what she said?"

Old Spencer listened in silence. But his annoyance still clearly radiated from his eyes.

"She said... she wanted to measure her abilities. And if she knows where her weakness lies, she will train even more so that she can become an expert." Evan smiled wryly. He knew this Old Man wanted to recruit his wife to become a professional shooter. And his wife’s words were definitely something that would make this old man happy.

Old Spencer was surprised. He thought that his granddaughter only liked to shoot and had no interest in learning other techniques. However, hearing that she was passionate about becoming an expert brought his dream even closer.

Chapter 313: Advance Level

Old Spencer didn’t say anything else to Evan. The corners of his lips lifted slightly into a faint smile. His eyes drifted to Jimmy, who was now focused on the control desk, "Jimmy, have they chosen the time bar and level of difficulty?"

Old Spencer asked as he walked over to Jimmy, staring at the three flat-screen TVs in front of him.

The three participants in the 3 CSD simulation rooms are clearly visible on the flat-screen TV.

"Not yet, sir. They were just about to do it." Jimmy glanced at the Old master who was standing beside him.

"What simulation will they choose?" Old Spencer could see his granddaughter on TV.

"10 minutes for beginner level." Explained Jimmy.

"Thank goodness it’s only beginner level." Old Spencer nodded in satisfaction.

There are three levels of simulation in Combat Shooting Drill; Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. And suppose they tried the Advance level straight away. In that case, his granddaughter might get hurt because, at that level, the attacker was 3 times stronger than the beginner level. His granddaughter could not protect herself, as she had never been taught this technique before.

"Damn it!" Jimmy suddenly cursed. It made Old Spencer, who was standing beside him, flinch.

"Jimmy?" Old Spencer frowned, confused by Jimmy’s sudden cursing. "What happened, Jimmy?" he asked, looking at Jimmy.

Old Spencer wondered why Jimny’s face looked shocked looking at the monitor in front of him. Is there a problem in the arena?

Just before Jimmy wanted to answer Old Spencer, he heard Evan cursing at him. He looked at Evan and how shocked he was when he saw Evan walking toward him with a dark face and a horrible look in his eyes as if he wanted to kill him.

"Damn you, Jimmy!? What are you doing? Why did my wife choose an advanced level? Didn’t you guide her before?" Evan cursed Jimmy as he gripped his collar tightly. With one hand, he threw a mighty fist into Jimmy’s head, but someone grabbed his hand before his fist hit Jimmy’s head.

"Evan Collins, stop!" shouted old Spencer. How surprised he was to see Evan’s chilling gaze.

Old Spencer continued, "You’re not going to help my granddaughter by hitting Jimmy. She’s already inside, and we can’t stop this competition. All you need to do now is pray that your wife will not get hurt!" Old Spencer’s voice was low, but Evan could feel how cold the words were.

Evan slowly looked at Old Spencer’s face, surprised to see Old Spencer flushed. Evan’s wrath that enveloped his senses gradually dissipated as Old Spencer’s firm grip loosened. Looking at the back of the old Spencer in front of him made Evan’s cold heart slowly soften.

Jimmy could feel the grip on his neck slowly loosening, but a second later, he felt his body being pushed so hard that it felt like he was flying. Then in the blink of his eyes, his back hit the cold wall behind him. Instantly he felt like there were thousands of nails piercing his spine. The pain was unbearable, causing him to fall limply on the floor. A long groan escaped his mouth as he tried to stand again.

His eyes saw horror at the young man standing in front of him. He had never seen his evil side like now. But he had heard of it many times; This man was feared by those around him, and he mercilessly vented his anger. And this time, not only did he see it in person, but he felt it. His cold aura seemed to make his limbs frozen and unable to move. If the Old Master didn’t stop this man from hitting his head, he might have been rushed to the hospital now.

"Grandpa, Let’s stop it by force!!" said Evan, who was already standing at Old Spencer’s side. His cold eyes stared at the screen hanging in front of him.

Old Spencer sighed before replying, "You can’t because her life could be in danger."

Evan was taken aback hearing his words. He always trained here when he was an old Spencer’s apprentice. But he never knew more about this Combat Shooting Practice arena.

"What do you mean, grandpa?" Evan slowly turned his gaze towards Old Spencer.

"You still remember, right? If the attackers only attack the parts protected by special body armor, the ones they wear!?"

Evan nodded, "Grandpa, Why did you ask this?"

"If we forcibly stop this simulation, the shooters will attack blindly. So there’s a chance they’ll attack unprotected areas. And you know that my granddaughter was never taught any fighting techniques. She could be seriously injured...."

Evan’s heart stopped when he heard Old Spencer’s explanation. His fists were tightly clenched as he held back the anger that rose in his heart. He was now angry at himself for letting his wife enter this competition.

He should have asked his wife to practice before starting the competition. Surely his wife would agree to do that, and he didn’t have to worry as much as now.

Now it’s too late. Old Spencer was right. There was nothing he could do but pray that his wife would finish the competition unscathed.

Meanwhile, Rose was confused about choosing a beginner level or a higher level in the simulation room. When Jimmy explained to her earlier, she had not heard him say anything and mention anything about the simulation level. Now she is perplexed about which level she must choose.

After much thought, Rose finally chose the follow-up advance simulation because she remembered asking Gavin and Oscar to do their best. So, it’s inevitable that the two men will choose the Advanced level, right?

After making her choice, she saw the inscription appear above the two doors to her left and right. On the right, it says ’ENTER,’ while on the left, it says ’EXIT.’ She took out her gun and checked the ammunition. She also rechecked spare ammunition as well as her body armor. After making sure everything was safe, she slowly entered the room.

Chapter 314: Got Shoot

Rose was taken aback when she heard a ’bang’ sound as the door behind her closed. She turned back to look at the door, stunned because she didn’t see the door behind her. All Rose saw was a black wall. Likewise, the ceiling she saw was nothing but darkness.

"Gosh!! Why does this simulation room look so scary?" Rose muttered. Somehow, she felt like she was in a haunted house at the amusement park she had ever visited in East City.

After a few seconds of silence, she suddenly remembered Uncle Jimmy’s explanation before entering this room; The ’exit’ door will appear after the time runs out.

When Rose looked at her watch, her body stiffened as she realized she had spent her first minute just looking for the door she had just walked through.

Rose cursed herself for not focusing. If she didn’t move forward now, she would definitely lose to Gavin and Oscar. She then looked ahead and strolled. Her hand gripped the gun, and her eyes scanned her surroundings intently, but the light was dim, limiting her vision.

All she could see was a room that looked like a long corridor. On her left and right, she saw several rooms without doors. And along the hall, many things could be used to hide. There are iron boxes, tables and sideboards, and much more. The atmosphere in the place felt like entering the video game arena she had played in her previous life and Oliver had developed that game. They will launch the game in a few months.

Slowly Rose advanced while holding her gun tightly. All her senses were alert to every movement she heard and saw. Her eyes tried to see carefully even though her vision was limited, and her ears heard keenly. She will shoot if she sees her target. But after a few steps, she found nothing.

Now Rose was confused by the shape of her target.

Earlier, Uncle Jimmy only said that the target was a human in the form of a hologram. However, she had not encountered her mark even after passing through the first room. Rose also didn’t hear any movement around. It was as if she was alone in that place. Instantly she felt goosebumps. What if there was a ghost there!? Gosh!

Nor did she know where the shooter was hiding. During the briefing, she heard shooters would be hiding in a specific place. They weren’t humans, just sniper machines installed to detect motion and sound automatically. So she just had to dodge the machine gun if she saw one.

But strangely, why didn’t she see any of them, target and shooter? Is this arena not working? Thought Rose cautiously.

Now, she was getting impatient. This time she quickened her pace. After a few steps, she finally arrived near another room. She peeked slowly to make sure there was no shooter in the room.

She was surprised when she saw that there were green monsters and villains in hologram form. They looked authentic and moved as if they were walking. Without thinking, she immediately shot red marks on their temples. The moment she hit her target, the hologram disappeared.

After ensuring the room was clean, she walked again down the empty corridor. But before she could get close to a place to hide, she saw a red laser dot on her chest, and her eyes caught sight of something hanging in the air like a ripple pointing at her. Damn!

She quickly threw her body to the other side, but she was too late. The fake bullet hit her chest, and the pain was real. A long groan echoed through the empty corridor as pain spread to her chest. In a hurry, she checked her chest, afraid that there would be blood. However, she again realized that the bullet that hit her was only a fake bullet.

A sigh of relief escaped her mouth. However, another red dot appeared. Take her by surprise. She quickly covered her mouth, trying not to make any more noise. Gritting her teeth, she crawled towards the wall, separating her from the gun hanging in the air.

After knowing the location of the shooters and how they attacked, she learned how to dodge correctly now. As long as she doesn’t make much noise and doesn’t move much. Then the automatic weapon will not activate.

After the pain in her chest subsided, she checked her watch. She was stunned because she had already spent 4 minutes, had only shot 2 enemies, and already got one shot.

"Stupid Rose! You will lose if you move this slow!! Focus!!!" Once again, Rose scolded herself. She stood up and started to walk again. This time Rose was more confident than before. She will clear the enemy before time is up.

Meanwhile, in the control room,

Evan was standing far behind the old Spencer and Jimmy, who stood right below the flat TV monitor. His face hardened, unable to contain the pain in his heart as he watched his wife get shot and fall. He felt like he wanted to enter the simulation room and pull his wife out.

His eyes stared sharply at the TV monitor while hearing old Spencer and Jimmy exchange words.

Evan was not the only one that was distraught and angry. Sam was too. He was standing in the back, not far from Evan. Sam wanted to help his Lady Boss, but nothing couldn’t be done. He could only wait until his time was up.

However, Sam’s worries and anger slowly subsided when he saw the Lady Boss start to move fast. She even killed another enemy and dodged some of the shooters.

A faint smile appeared on Sam’s face as he realized that by now, his Lady Boss must have found a way to evade the shooters in the CSD arena. She is indeed a genius. She can learn to scan the environment promptly.

"Oh lord!! Old Master, Old Master, look... The Young Lady can finally move quickly. Wow... she can dodge shooters too...." Jimmy, who had been tense, worried that Young Lady would get another shot, exclaimed happily. Finally, the girl can master the arena that she entered for the first time in her life.

"Can you shut up? I can see it for myself." Old Spencer said, annoyed that Jimmy had distracted himself from watching his granddaughter championing the game.

Chapter 315: Result (1)

For Evan, 10 minutes felt like a century. He couldn’t bear to see his wife in the arena even though she was doing well. She even showed such rapid progress since she entered the CSD arena.

Now Evan understood why Old Spencer was interested in recruiting his wife as a discipline. She is indeed talented. She uses her gun, shoots without hesitation, and always hits the target, even when she only catches a glimpse of the target. All of this fascinated Evan.

Being in this Combat Shooting Drill simulation requires speed to analyze the surroundings. In just a few minutes, she immediately masters it. Instead of being a novice in this arena, she looked more like an expert.

"Is this really her first time entering a Combat Shooting Drill?" This question always appeared in his mind a few minutes after watching her on TV.

"Sam..." Evan called out to Sam without taking his eyes off the TV.

"Yes, Boss?"

"Are you sure this is the first time my wife has done this?" Evan asked doubtfully.

"Yes, boss. I never took Lady Boss to train in this place..."

Sam can feel that right now... his boss was shocked to see his wife’s outstanding appearance in the arena. Let alone Boss Evan, he was still surprised to see her. Right now, Lady Boss’ score was only behind in the first few minutes. But so far, she could keep up with Gavin and Oscar’s scores in the other room.

Evan pondered for a moment before he asked again, "Did she ever say she trained in another shooting range?"

"No way, boss! Lady Boss is always with me if not with you. So, I can confirm that it is not possible..." Sam looked at his big boss with a confused look.

Why does his big boss seem suspicious of his wife?

Evan didn’t say anything else. However, his mind was still filled with doubts; His wife looked very professional there. As if this wasn’t the first time she’d done it.

"Boss, I have said several times that your wife is very talented at shooting. She was above the average person who trained in this shooting range. Mm-mmm... In that case, Lady Boss has more or less the same talent as you... but don’t worry, boss, you are still the best." After seeing his boss’s face turn sour, Sam immediately corrected his last sentence.

Evan ignored Sam’s words. He immediately left the control room when he saw that the competition time was only one minute away.

For Evan, it didn’t matter if his wife lost. He just wanted this competition to end so that he could hug and comfort her.

When the timer sounded, the light above the black iron door turned green, indicating that the competition was over.

"Who won?" asked Old Spencer.

He didn’t care if his granddaughter lost because he was proud to see how talented she was.

It makes him determined to train her so that his granddaughter can become a shooting expert.

Her talent cannot be ignored. At least if she mastered her skill, she could use it to protect herself from bad people. Because, as an influential family in this country, they also have enemies. And if his granddaughter’s identity is exposed, their enemies could take advantage of her weaknesses. The possibility has made the Old Spencer really concerned.

What he heard, Rose had never studied martial arts. So, he really needed to train her to become strong.

Not hearing Jimmy’s answer, Old Spencer frowned at him, "Jimmy? Did you hear me?" He asked again.

"O-Old Master, p-please see for yourself..." Jimmy said in a stuttering voice.

Old Spencer immediately approached the control desk.

Likewise, Sam was curious to see the results. He also approached the control table. Soon, they are both stunned to see the competition results.

Meanwhile, Evan stood at the door, waiting for his wife to come out. At the same time he heard Gavin and Oscar had left the arena, he looked at them with disgusted eyes.

Evan felt irritated just by looking at them. He made a note in his mind would deal with these two idiots later. He would send them somewhere where they could reflect on what they were doing here.

As anger overtook him, the door slowly opened, and he saw his little wife come out of the room. Her face was pale, beads of sweat were visible on her forehead, and her ponytail looked drenched. He quickly stepped forward and pulled her into his arms.

"Wife, I am very sorry to have put you through this. Does your chest still hurt?"

Rose was surprised at his words. Obviously, it wasn’t because of him she participated in this. But because of her eagerness to accept Oscar’s challenge.

Rose smiled at Evan, trying to make him less worried. "When I got shot, it was excruciating. But now it doesn’t hurt anymore. Gosh! I even forgot that I was shot earlier if you didn’t ask..." She lied because right now, her chest still hurts.

Just as Rose wanted to continue her sentence, she suddenly felt Evan’s hug tightening. Almost suffocated her. "H-Hubby... I-I’ll die in your arms if you don’t let me go!"

"W-H-A-T!?" He quickly let go of his embrace. How shocked he was when he saw her face flushed. "Wife, what happened?" Evan asked worriedly.

When she could breathe easier, she replied, "You hugged me so tight, hubby! And this bulletproof vest is pressed against my chest... it’s killing me!" Rose tried to take off her vest, but Evan stopped her hand. "How is the result?" Rose continued her words as she watched Evan take off her bulletproof vest.

Evan didn’t answer right away. After he took off her bulletproof vest, he looked into her eyes lovingly. "My dear wife, it doesn’t matter the result. For me, you are the winner." He put his hands on her waist and pulled her between his arms once again. "And, I thought, you beat those two idiots!"

"Huh!? How could that be? I got shot once!?" Rose asked, confused by Evan’s words.
