Ch. 341..345: Rebirth_ Dancing In My Destiny Chapter 341-345
Chapter 341: Step Down
Unknowingly, Archy’s hands clenched in anger. However, he tried his best to keep his expression calm when he saw Oliver in the eyes.
"I’m sorry, brother Oliver. I won’t say anything like that again." Archy had no other choice but to humble himself in front of all of them. "I am really, really sorry." He said again, his voice soft but not his heart. It was as if hot coals were burning in his heart. He would never forget this humiliation. He will take revenge. But now, all he could do was keep his annoyed and angry expression out of sight.
"Wow! That’s so much better, my friend Archy!" Sam finally let go of his grip on Archy’s shoulders. He stood before the poor fat man while helping him to straighten his suit like a father helping his son put on his first suit. "Now, I’m giving you 24 hours to get out of town quickly. And don’t let us meet because if we do, I probably won’t let you go like now..." Sam continued his sentence while his hand cupped Archy’s cheek.
As soon as the elevator doors opened, several security guards approached them.
"Are you guys all right?" The security guard asked when he saw Rose and the others come out.
"Yes. But looks like the guy inside was traumatized from being trapped in the elevator. You have to help him..." Sam said and left the place. The three immediately walked towards the main door with wide-light steps and smiles framing their faces.
From a distance, Rose could see Evan’s black Maybach precisely parked before the main entrance. But before Rose got into the car, Oliver stopped her.
"Huh! What’s wrong, Oliver?!" Rose asked confusedly as Oliver’s worried eyes stared at her.
"Sorry you had to watch it..." he paused and, for a moment, took a deep breath. "Rose, you know Hester and I are not on good terms, right?"
"Hmm... I can see that."
"I intend to take revenge on the Hester Family, especially Archy and her mother. I will exact my revenge by wrecking the Hester Group’s businesses."
Rose was taken aback by Oliver’s words. She silently heard his explanation.
"Rose, there is a possibility that what I will do in regards to Hester in the future could affect my status as CEO of the Wilson Group. So, before I do, I want to step down from this position..."
The revenge plan that Oliver had been planning for a long time seemed to have to be carried out more quickly after that damn kid provoked him. All this time, he would wait until Archy got his grandfather’s share. However, so far, that hasn’t happened. Causing his plans to be delayed for so long.
His target is to destroy Archy Hester, the source of his headache and, of course, the company his grandfather was so proud of, Hester Group. But, if Archy wasn’t a shareholder, then his revenge mission wouldn’t be as big as he had planned.
He couldn’t wait. The incident earlier, when Archy insulted his mother, he feel hurt. He couldn’t let that damn Archy humiliate his mother. He must immediately carry out his plan; he will snatch what is rightfully his.
"I’m sorry if this decision is so sudden..." Oliver stopped his words when a strong punch hit his shoulder. "R-Rose, I know you are angry, but why did you hit me?" Oliver said as she glared at Rose, but he was stunned when he saw Rose’s face turn dark, her eyes gleaming with anger. Instantly he froze to see another side of Rose that he rarely saw.
This girl is fuming.
Like thunder striking her, Rose was utterly shocked. This Oliver Stupid Hester wanted to step down? Is he mad? Gosh! He deserved a powerful punch!
"Oliver Stupid Hester! I’m disappointed in you...." Rose glared at Oliver. "Waaah... how can you say that? Don’t ever... ever think about stepping down from the position of CEO. You will carry that position until you can’t use your brain! Until you enter your grave." Rose put her hands on her waist as she took a deep breath, trying to control her anger. She didn’t expect Oliver to be so narrow-minded.
Oliver, "..."
"Listen, Oliver Stupid Hester... if you want revenge with them, go for it. No need to worry about the Wilson Group. If they screw up our company, I won’t be afraid. And I won’t stay still either...." She looked at him but didn’t say anything as if she was scolding Oliver with her eyes blazing, like embers burning in her eyes.
After some time, Rose asked Oliver to come closer, and she whispered, "Have you forgotten that you are a powerful hacker? In your hands, you can immobilize Hester Group. Damn you! How could you forget that!?" Rose stood straight again, but her eyes still sharply glared at Oliver.
"Oliv..." This time her voice turned soft, "I already treat you like my own family. So, who your enemy is, then they indirectly annoy and become my enemy too. I will always support you..."
Oliver was taken aback by Rose’s sharp yet supportive words that touched his heart. He never imagined Rose’s reaction would be like this. Instantly the man felt a warm feeling in his heart for her care of his situation. He thought Rose would take his resignation for granted.
However, this girl did not know the true strength of the Hester Group. They are not a new company, but they have ruled Nova city for decades, and no one can beat them.
"Stupid girl! Listen... I will take revenge on the Hester Group, a powerful company in Nova City, not a small company like our Wilson Group. My actions could jeopardize our newly founded company. Don’t worry, I will not leave the company. I will still support the company from behind. Have you forgotten I also have a share?" Oliver smiled.
"I’m not stupid! But you are!" Rose chuckled before continuing, "Damn it, Oliver, you worry too much. Believe me, nothing will happen to Wilson Group even if they find out you are the company’s CEO." Rose patted Oliver on the shoulder, trying to reassure him.
Chapter 342: Astington’s Strong Family
"Wife!? What’s wrong?" Suddenly Evan’s voice came from behind. Rose immediately turned to see Evan getting out of the car and walking toward them, "Is this man bothering you?" His sinister eyes stared deeply into Oliver.
"NO!" Oliver and Rose answered at the same time.
"Are you sure?" Evan stood beside her and took her hand while his eyes still stared at Oliver sharply.
"Hmm... nothing happened." Rose worries that her husband will misunderstand Oliver.
"But why did you hit him? And scold him?" Still not sure they’re okay, Evan asks again.
Earlier, while waiting for his wife in the car, he saw her looking emotional talking to Oliver. He even saw her punch Oliver in the chest. Looked like they were fighting.
Witnessing all this made Evan unable to resist getting out of the car and finding out what really happened.
"Wife, don’t be afraid. I’m here. Tell me honestly why you fight with him. If this person bothers you, be honest with me so I will hit him for you, don’t hurt your hand by hitting him..." Evan said as he gently stroked Rose’s hand, which she used to hit Oliver.
Rose, "..."
Oliver, "..."
Sam, who was about to change Evan’s driver, almost choked on Evan’s words threatening Oliver. He immediately asks the driver to take his car back to Misty Mountain and gets in the Maybach not wanting to see Oliver beaten up by the big boss.
"Poor Oliver, today wasn’t a good day for him." Sam silently says in his heart.
"Nothing happened. Oliver just broke up with his girlfriend. That’s why I scolded him for getting too carried away. Ah... forget it. It’s not important..." Rose then wrapped her hands around Evan’s arms, "Let’s go... hubby!" Rose said and pulled Evan into the car. After signaling Oliver to call her.
Oliver was speechless. Heartless girl! How could she say that?
Soon Evan’s car left the C Mall and headed to Misty Mountain to their house.
"Hubby, do you know about the Hester Group from Nova city?"
Evan nodded, although he was confused why his wife suddenly asked about it.
"Fundamentally, how strong are they?" Thinking about Oliver’s plan to take revenge on his own family, the Hester family, Rose began to worry about what Oliver feared would happen. His actions could jeopardize the Wilson Group indeed.
Seeing the restless look in her eyes made him worried. "Why are you suddenly asking about the Hester Group?" Instead of answering her question, Evan asked back.
Rose didn’t answer Evan but took a deep breath, then looked out of the car, as if trying to get rid of what was bothering her.
"Is the Wilson Group in trouble with the company?" Evan asked with concern.
Rose shook her head, "The Hesters have been hurting Oliver since he was a child. So Oliver has a plan to take revenge on them...."
"Then what are you worried about?"
"Oliver said he didn’t want to involve my company, so he wanted to step down from the CEO position..." The worry in her eyes became more apparent.
Rose continued, "Hubby, I told Oliver I wouldn’t be afraid if Hester put pressure on the Wilson Group. That’s why I forbade him to consider stepping down from the CEO position. But now I’m a little worried. How strong is the Hester Group that makes Oliver worried about our company being suppressed by them!?"
Now Evan understood why his wife had punched Oliver earlier; she was annoyed with him. Evan secretly laughed in his heart. Before answering, he took his wife’s hand and placed it on his lap.
"Wife, you must understand the ruling family in this country. Four families are at the top of the pyramid. They’re called ’The Big Four.’" Evan paused as he smiled, seeing her beaming eyes staring at him.
"At the top of the pyramid, occupied by Spencer, your father’s family. Do you know why they are at the top? Apart from being strong in the business world, they are also strong in politics and the military. No one can match Spencer, even Collins, who can only stay at number two..."
Rose was surprised to hear that. She had heard such rumors before, but this was the first time she had received such a complete explanation from Evan.
"Then, at number three, the Stearns family, my mother’s family, controls the medical and education business in this country. And for family number four, it’s the Carters. This family is strong in the hospitality business and the food chain."
"Carter?"
"Hmm... you’ve met one of Carter’s heirs. He’s my best friend, Aidan Carter."
"Ah... I remember. He is the guy working as a chef at a restaurant in Little Heaven, right?"
"Yes. That Chef’s family owns Carter Hotels spread across the country and several countries."
Rose gasped in surprise. Obviously, she knew the family. They are wealthy. She didn’t expect the Michelin chef she met a while ago to be a member of the Carter family.
"Then, under The Big Four, there are The Ten Great Families. They can be said to be a big family, but compared to The Big Four, it is like comparing earth and sky. In our eyes, they are like grains of dust. And Hester was Four in the Top Ten. So, can you guess whether the Hester Family can be a threat to you or not?" Evan ruffled his wife’s hair as he watched her worry fade from her face.
"I see. Hester is way above the Willson Group, but I’m not afraid because Spencer and Collins, my husband... will support me, right?" Rose’s smile finally framed her face again.
"Glad you understand now. Don’t worry. No one can mess with your company. So you can tell your CEO to calm down. Just do what he wants. There’s no need to be afraid of anything..."
"Thank you, hubby... I’ll tell Oliver about it." Now Rose feels relieved. Nothing will happen to Oliver or her company if he does what he must do. And she will help Oliver to exact his revenge.
Chapter 343: Investigating Oliver Hester
Before they reached their house, Rose suddenly remembered her plan to visit Vale City. She wants to look at Gold mining research progress and Rapid Realty reconstruction progress there. Several months have passed, and progress is drawing near to results.
Rose wanted to see firsthand the development of the two projects. Before the grand launching, which will be held in the next few weeks.
But now she was worried. Evan might not allow her to go to Vale City, especially since a series of terrors took place in several cities. Except...
Rose silently smiled and looked at him, "Hubby, I have plans to go to Vale City next week. Can you adjust your schedule so we can go there together? So we can vacation together while working..."
"Can you postpone it later?" Evan was worried about traveling with him to another city, the terrorists out there still haven’t been caught. Their threat could not be ignored.
"Unfortunately, I can’t. This trip had been planned for a long time. And it has been delayed several times. I can’t put it off any longer."
Evan glanced at Sam, who drove, "Sam, you set my wife’s schedule with Gavin so I can go with her to Vale City...."
"Yes, big boss. I will..." Sam replied.
"Thank you, Hubby. Now, I’m much calmer if you can come along. Don’t worry, we won’t be there long. The plan is only to stay for two nights...."
"Has Rapid Realty started operating yet?"
"Yes. There are several ongoing projects — small projects — finalizing old contracts. And, we’ve also done a major restructuring of the company; getting rid of the corrupt people and the family of the old owner..." explained Rose.
"Excellent, dear. If there is an opportunity, you should expand to other big cities, especially in cities under a lot of development but do this when Rapid Realty in Nova City is ready. Wife, I’ll ask Marvin Sanders to work with your company to help your company to get big projects."
"Husband!? Can you really do it? I mean, would Marvin agree?" Rose’s eyes sparkled hearing Evan’s words.
"Of course, he will! Even if I said to merge Wilson Group and Dream Inc, he would..." Evan chuckled before continuing, "Have you forgotten I own the company?"
Rose "..."
"I mean, you’re not involved with Dream Inc."
"Yes, you are right. But I can ask that guy to do whatever I ask, and he will not and can not refuse."
Rose was silent.
"Husband, don’t ask Marvin anything. I don’t want to get a co-op project because of your orders. If there’s a chance, I want us to get it ourselves..." Rose said. Although she wanted to get a big project from Dream Inc, her heart forbade her to do it.
Evan smiled weakly, "Okay, my dear wifey... I’ll ask Marvin to step out from any project you’re in. So that your chances of winning are greater. How dear, do you accept this method?"
Rose was speechless.
Husband, isn’t that the same?
It’s challenging to avoid her wealthy husband. If he wanted to help her, he would find a way, no matter how often she refused. Gosh!
"Is there anything else you want to do in Nova City? Why do you have to stay two nights there?" Evan asks.
If his wife only wanted to visit Rapid Realty, she would only need half a day to complete it. No need to stay overnight, right? However, she plans to stay in town for two nights. That meant there was something else she wanted to do.
Suddenly in Evan’s mind, a gold mine appeared. He feels his wife is never updated about the gold mining they are working on. But Evan knew exactly about the project because Silver Phoenix was guarding them against influential people trying to sabotage their mining project.
"Hmm... there is. But for now, I can’t tell you in detail," Rose stopped when she saw Evan frowning. "Hubby, I can only say; you’ll be surprised at what I find. But please be patient for a moment. I promise I’ll definitely let you know later..."
Right now, she couldn’t tell Evan because the research results weren’t out yet. The researchers needed more time to complete the report.
According to Oliver, the report will be completed in the next few days. That’s why she wanted to visit the mine and show Evan.
These gold mines will be announced after their wedding ceremony if everything goes according to plan.
Talking about her wedding ceremony, she suddenly remembered her aunt Amanda Spencer had asked her to meet. She wasn’t sure what her aunt would tell her, but she agreed to meet her the next day.
Meanwhile...
In one of the hotels near C Mall,
Archy Hester looked back and forth in his presidential suite. Every now and then, he bites the tip of his thumb. It was clear from the look on his face that he was furious.
Not long after, a man with a stature like a soldier in all-black clothes appeared in front of him.
"Sir, is there something you would like to order?"
"I want you to find out any information about Oliver Hester, where he works, where he lives," Archy looked at the man with anger still gripping him. After taking a few deep breaths, he continued, "Also, found out; who are his close friends and what he is doing daily. I need all the information soon. So you can investigate now... "
The man disappeared from the room after hearing Archy Hester’s order. The room was silent again. Archy walked towards the glass wall looking out the window—His arrogant face was still covered with the anger and humiliation he had felt earlier.
He swore in his heart; he would avenge Oliver for what he did to him today. He would repay him ten times worse.
"Sir, the car is ready. We can go now...." A bespectacled middle-aged man entered the room.
"Let’s go!" Archy comes out of the room. He can’t stay in this city. Worried that the big guy’s threat was valid. For safety’s sake, he hastened his visit to this city even though he still wanted to have fun with his friends.
Chapter 344: Getting Better
The next day, when the sky was still dark. Evan and Rose were getting ready to do some physical exercise. Usually, Rose would go to her grandfather’s place to practice. Still, this morning, for the first time, Evan would accompany her to practice at Misty Mountain.
This Misty Mountain belongs to Collins and is closed to the public. There are trails to hike and car paths to reach the top of the mountain. The distance from their house to the mountain’s top is about 3 miles. It can be reached in about an hour and a half on foot.
That morning Rose and Evan were on the hiking trail to the top. Rose would walk at the pace her grandfather had set her as part of a tailor-made sniper training program.
This was Rose’s first time taking this route to the top. It was still too dark to see the path she was taking, but she could faintly see the way she was on was flanked by very shady trees.
Evan stared at her as Rose concentrated on keeping her pace and controlling her breathing. He smiled, seeing her so excited doing this training.
He could see; her footsteps and breathing remained steady even though they had walked for almost an hour—halfway to the top.
Evan was proud to see her stamina increase after some practice with Old Spencer. Completely different from the last time he saw her doing physical exercises. It was still clear in his memory when they were still living in the apartment, she always complained when they exercised together.
But this time, not once did he hear her complain. Only a few times did he hear her take deep breaths. Even when he reached out to help her walk, his wife politely refused.
Rose’s change surprised Evan.
"Wife, your feet okay?" Evan asked while looking at her ankles. A black belt was around her ankles, weighing 2.5 kg on each leg. Likewise, on her wrists, there’s a black belt too. It is the same as that on her ankles.
So while walking from their house to the top, Rose carried a total weight of 10 kg. This was extraordinary for Rose, who did not like this strenuous activity.
Evan thought that after a few days of training with Old Spencer, Rose would give up. But, it turned out that Evan was wrong. To this day, Rose has never complained to him.
He knew that physically she must be exhausted. Because he had experienced this practice when he was a child. In the past, he always wanted to give up every time he finished training.
"Yeah... it is all right so far." A faint smile frames her face as she continues to walk at her speed. Her breaths started to get a little short. Still, she tried her best to not show Evan that she was beginning to feel tired—walking fast; carrying a weight of 10 kilos is not easy—but she forced herself to reach the peak.
"Excellent, wife. You’re the best. Don’t worry, we will arrive soon..." Evan tried to comfort her.
Rose didn’t answer Evan anymore. She focused on maintaining her speed and keeping her breathing under control as she looked around; she was astonished to see the trees around her starting to change color—fall is coming.
Every now and then, Rose looked at the sports watch to ensure the time was on target. Her grandfather had given her a target to achieve, and she had to report directly to him after completing the training session.
Rose did not want to delay her physical training this time, even though it was exhausting. She needs a solid stamina and body strength foundation to be a good marksman and martial arts master.
It wasn’t long before they finally reached the top. At the same time, on the horizon, the sun began to appear.
For a moment, Rose was mesmerized to see the orange tinge of the sun begin to creep up. It was so beautiful.
"Beautiful..." Rose couldn’t help but praise the beauty of nature.
Since she lived in the Misty Mountains, this was the first time she could watch the sunrise from the top of the mountain. The pain she felt immediately faded after seeing the pretty sky before her eyes.
"Yes, I agree with you. Very beautiful!" Evan said as he looked at his wife, standing beside him. He could clearly see the sweat on her forehead; she looked beautiful.
Evan chuckled as he turned his gaze towards the rising sun.
Soon they were both sitting on a wooden bench looking at the city.
Rose realized that there was a beautiful park with a small gazebo. She also saw a functional house that was not too big. And on the other side, there is a parking lot for cars.
"Wow, this place is beautiful. Do you often come here at night?"
"Back then, yes. We’re here for the barbecue."
"I wish we could come back here at night...." He thought seeing the city’s beauty at night from their home was already beautiful. But, he was sure seeing it from up here was much more attractive.
"Sure dear... we will!"
Before long...
Rose was surprised when she saw a black SUV appear and stop in the parking lot. Soon, she saw Sam show up with Laura Martin. They had a picnic basket.
She was so happy seeing the hot coffee, sandwiches, and fresh fruit on the table. She didn’t expect Evan to take her to breakfast from up here.
"Lady Boss, Boss... please enjoy your breakfast." After arranging the food, Sam and Laura left them.
"Wife, hurry, eat your breakfast...." Evan said.
Autumn was approaching, and the air was starting to feel cold, especially at the top of this mountain. Rose was freezing even though she was already wearing her sports jacket. She immediately took hot coffee to warm her body.
As Rose enjoyed her breakfast, she remembered a story about Evan, a talented sniper who became her grandfather’s favorite student.
Chapter 345: Reason
Rose finished her coffee before she asked.
"Hubby, can I ask you a question?"
"Sure. What is in your mind?"
"I heard you were a talented marksman. And became my grandfather’s apprentice. Is that true?"
Evan chuckled lightly at her question. He was very talented, but that was a long time ago when he was a teenager. Old Spencer wanted to recruit him because he had the potential to become a soldier, but that was impossible for him to do.
"You’re right. I used to be one of your grandpa’s favorite disciples. Since I was a teen, I have been training with him until I grew up and went to college. The old man Spencer started training me to be a soldier very early. I really enjoyed every time I spent training as a soldier. In fact, it crossed my mind to become a general like your grandfather. But..." Evan paused for a moment. He cast his gaze towards the city to hide his regretful expression.
"Even though I like and want to enter the military, it’s not possible; I am the only successor of the Collins family. My parents and grandfather did not allow me to serve in the military. It was too risky." Evan continued his words after taking a deep breath, "Finally, I stopped training with Old Spencer and started learning to be an entrepreneur. Just like my grandfather and father wanted me to be...."
"Ah, now I understand why my grandfather was so disappointed, but he can’t force you either...." said Rose.
"Yes, that’s the reason. But although I did not join the military, I gained a lot of knowledge during my military training with Old Spencer. I became a skilled marksman on pistols and rifles. I am also physically fit and strong enough as a civilian with military combat readiness." He said proudly.
"Yes, I can see that..." Rose smiled, seeing her husband’s sexy body. Later, images of her husband’s naked body as they had sex and his never-ending energy filled her mind. Looking and feeling blush, Rose quickly shifted her gaze elsewhere. Too embarrassed to see him.
"And, because I decided to take another path—enter college and then the business world—I finally met you." Evan’s voice was so soft that it made her heart flutter. Rose slowly looked at him and met his loving gaze. Made her heart melt again.
A smile graced Rose’s face, "You’re right. We met when you entered University B. Something that wouldn’t have happened if you pursued a military career."
The question that often arises in her mind is why her husband chose to study at B University. At a regular university in a small town. Not a prestigious university in the capital city. Not even a university in the USA like most of the rich kids in this country?
Just before Rose wanted to ask, she had to stop. Rose heard Evan say,
"Wife, may I know your reason why you want to become a sniper?"
Evan wanted to know more about her ability, to answer his curiosity; How did she master this skill so quickly? Though she never touched a gun at all.
Although he was talented, he did not develop as fast as her. His suspicions that his wife was a member of the NONE organization grew.
"Hubby, I think I’ve already told you; I want to have skills to protect myself and exact my revenge when I have to." Rose chuckled because her husband seemed unsure of what she was doing right now. He still thought she would stop doing physical exercises like before.
"Well, you also know why I wanted to learn self-protection; some unfortunate events made me determined to explore this. The decision was made when I was almost kidnapped in Vale City. It has not been turning back for me since..." Said Rose with determination.
There was regret in Rose’s eyes, a regret of stopping training with Evan. If only she continued to train regularly with him, perhaps she wouldn’t need this training as she would have had the foundation as a versatile and skillful soldier.
Evan was slightly surprised by Rose’s answer. This time Evan agreed with her to have martial skills and other close combat hand-to-hand fighting. However, when it crossed his mind; the practice she was doing was demanding and exhausting, the urge to stop it often arose.
"Wife, you don’t need this kind of training to be a shooter. You’re already very good at using a gun to protect yourself. That’s enough. I can give you a certified small firearm that you can carry around with you." said Evan.
Hearing that, Rose was tempted. However, when the excitement she had felt while in the Combat Shooting Drill arena appeared in her mind, the temptation suddenly disappeared.
"To be honest, I became interested in becoming a sniper after entering the CSD arena. That experience made me believe that I should master these shooting skills..." Rose’s eyes lit up when she told Evan how she felt at that moment.
Evan heard it silently. There was a worry that appeared in his heart. Worried, Old Spencer wanted to recruit his wife into the military’s plainclothes unit.
It seemed Evan had to find a way to stop Edward Spencer.
But considering how cunning the old man was, who would use any means to recruit his granddaughter, Evan couldn’t help but smile bitterly. The Old Man is also persistent and very patient. So, Evan must have a well-thought-out plan. Something that can make that old man back off immediately to recruiting his wife now or in the future.
Moreover, none of his children were interested in following in his footsteps; Jayson Spencer was more interested in politics, and Nicholas Spencer was only interested in medicine. And Amanda Spencer chose the fashion industry and business, never wanting to join the military.
Evan knew the Old Man’s goal was to recruit his grandchild. The Old Man succeeds in recruiting Sean Spencer. And seeing Rose’s natural talent in shooting made the Old Man’s desire to recruit Rose even stronger.
"Old man... the day you recruit my wife as a military woman is a day you cross over my dead body. You will never successfully recruit my beloved wife to become a military member. Not on my watch. Never!" Evan vows in his heart—he will find a way to stop him.
